and, let’s be real, for all we say that ben’s the sensible one - theyre two halves of a whole idiot

klaus is knees deep in rich ppl society and sometimes he makes ben visible

right?

and the thing is

klaus sees ghosts like he sees ppl but other ppl see ghosts like theyre blue and translucent

and thats how ben appears at first

but the more klaus works on his powers and ben gets less glowy- theres still a faint glow, but its easy to think of it as a trick of the light unless you know what to look for

but klaus doesn’t realize that ben initially shows up blue and translucent he’s just trying to see how much he can do with his powers in regards to ben - how long can he keep him visible ? can he be visible but still untouchable ? can he interact with the living world but not be visible ? can he change his clothes ? can he change his hair ? etc etc

the less blue thing is just a side effect neither klaus nor ben notice

Been meaning to draw this for ages, a moment far enough into their future that North has the big snake tattoo already (Higgins is missing the snake on his right arm. Now they match! Two halves of a whole idiot and all that)

The snake tattoo is obviously for Higgins, but a lot of tiny things for other people/events/etc fill in the blank space over time. The "halo" around the snake's head is the four inner planets of the system, using their old Greek symbols to represent them, with the snake's head where the Sun should be

steve

cancer sun, taurus moon, leo rising, venus in pisces, mars in libra, lilith in leo

has trauma, both physically and emotionally

this trauma leaves him with issues like headaches, vision problems, and declining hearing

his emotional trauma has him feeling like he'll never be good enough. he's not naturally an insecure person, but all the little ways he's been made to feel inferior have been carved into him by now, so he doesn't wallow in pitying himself for being how he is, he just accepts the not-neccesssrily-true perceptions of being not good enough and works overtime to compensate.

has dyslexia and struggled in school but everyone thought he was a dumb jock so it wasn't caught

his parents are emotionally neglectful but provide everything he needs in the way of money and etc. so he doesn't realize that they're neglectful, and can sometimes feel bad that he has resentment and hurt regarding them

his father cut him off after the events at scoops when steve decided he wanted to stay and work a minimum wage job with robin rather than pick up the family business, and his father thought it would teach him a lesson and he would come crawling back. he didn't.

he's severely emotionally dependant. he expects everyone he cares about to leave him, and defaults on being useful and providing for people so they'll want to stay. he's a level 10 clinger and that manifests in him giving too much.

he got over robin almost instantly and now will tell people they're basically siblings or maybe even two halves of the same idiot. he's gratuitous in physical affection with her because its okay, she won't translate it the wrong way, and that was like the green light he needed to seek some of the physical affection he craves.

he also will call dustin his younger brother and the whole party "his kids." he wants a family very badly partly because he grew up wishing he had siblings.

he likes sports specifically because of the team aspect. its like joining a big family and they often rely on him and it makes him feel good and less alone.

he hates his house not only because barb died there, but also because its big and empty and has been his whole life. its impersonally decorated and it doesn't feel like a home, like a lived in space.

part of the reason he likes dating so much is its an excuse to be anywhere but his own house, and he loves being with someone to the point he can join their family dinners and feel part of them.

he also dates a lot because he's desperate for attention and approval, and has a hole in him he needs to fill. but he's also suffering a lot of comphet, and it never works for him because he's only dated women.

he likes men. he's probably gay, but he's never explored the possibility of liking men, and until he met robin he never knew he could do that. he dates more women, hoping each one will solve his growing dissatisfaction with them, but it leaves him feeling empty, and he has to create more and more excuses as to why he never likes them.

he's got a feminine side, and once he feels the freedom to explore it, or learns that gender expression is something he can play with, he definitely leans into the feminine side. he's probably something like genderfluid.

he's used to taking care of people so much all the time, he loves being taken care of in the bedroom. to be able to relax and put himself in someone else's hands and feel loved and cared for.

his prominant traits are loyalty, courage, intense emotionality, and generosity.

his negative traits are the result of this, in that his emotional intensity can leave him to be petty and lash out when he feels hurt, and he gets easily jealous. his loyalty can be overbearing and needy, his courage can be rash and dangerous, and he can give more than he ought to.

he also can be extremely bitchy. his mom tendencies go full pta karen when it comes to the kids, and robin indulges his love of gossip and being judgey.

eddie

autistic and adhd

he's a burned out gifted kid, in that he had a very high reading level at a young age and is even really good at math, but he never properly learned how to study, so when the difficulty level ramped up in high school, he started falling behind. this only matched his reputation for being a trailer trash poor kid, so no one bothered to help him.

he has sensory issues with light, but he likes loud noise to stim. metal music hits that sweet spot.

he's incredibly good with music. he has the kind of ear that lets him play almost anything just by listening to it, and he has a similar skill with his voice. he can imitate the singing styles of a lot of vocalists.

fantasy and storytelling is an escape for him, and is also his special interest. his taste for metal also comes from this, because a lot of metal albums like to tell stories and sometimes are about fantasy subjects.

he was bullied as a younger child, and learned to play up the "freak" part of his personality so bullies would be too weirded out to go near him. he faces verbal abuse more than physical in high school. because the metal music, drugs, and dnd, people are afraid of him on top of thinking he's weird.

his family is jewish, his mother specifically. this adds to why a lot of the waspy hawkins people are so quick to believe he's doing something "satanic" and corrupting the kids.

his father taught him to hide. he learned from a young age that getting caught is the worst thing that could happen, so at the first sign of trouble he books it and no one will find him if he doesn't want them to. this was both literally taught, and the product of eddie not wanting to be in the line of fire when his father was in a volatile mood.

his childhood was wildly unstable, and his family was definitely homeless for periods of time. nothing changed until his mother died and his father got arrested, at which point his uncle quit being a trucker so he could take care of him.

eddie started dealing as a way to bring in extra cash for his uncle because he hates feeling like a burden or inconvenience.

he loves kids and wants to be a role model for them. he sees them as the hope for the future, and he takes pride in being a reason that none of them have the lonely, painful childhood he did.

he's grown up around a lot of rejects and in shady areas, so he's been familiar with other gay people since he could talk. as a result he's always known he was queer.

he might call himself gay, but he views himself as more queer, without strict limits, because while he's never been particularly interested in women, he's really open minded about gender and would be open to dating people who fuck around with it.

he himself isn't picky about gender. knowing he's queer and how that makes people see him makes him joke about "not really being a man," and he leans into flamboyancy because its just how he is and how he's gonna be seen regardless. if he had the words, he might describe himself as genderqueer. he also likes to do drag.

he's never properly dated before. no one in school except the younger kids will come near him, and it's dangerous anyway. he's been to a few cities to hook up some, but opportunities do not present themselves often and he flags in the hope that he might find more of his scene in hawkins.

he prefers to be in charge. he's been on the wrong end of enough bullying and mistreatment that he doesn't enjoy letting anyone else have power over him, and his unstable childhood means he feels a lot safer being in control of what he can.

his prominent traits are passion, creativity, charisma, independence

these manifest his negative traits, in that his passion can become overly intense. his creativity can leave him with an abundance of ideas he never follows through on and also leaves his head full of fantasies that become a hindrance to him participating in real life. his charisma is often overdramatics that can bring the wrong kind of attention and cause him to act inappropriately. his independence means he challenges authority to a problematic degree, and he also is unused to relying on anyone for help even when he needs it.

he is also very flighty and unreliable, following impulsitivity and his survival instincts above all else. his coping mechanisms are not always healthy, and when he feels a loss of control, running is his best self defense. he is used to having to protect himself.

Richie and Stanley’s friendship pt3

What Bill and Eddie learned from being friends with Stanley and Richie was that they were little shits. You’d think that Stanley would a saint but with Richie, they become two halves of a whole idiot.

The amount of trouble they got into because of the two boys was crazy. The rest of the losers would find this out when they joined later on.

Richie and Stan very much enabled each other. Richie could somehow convince Stan to do literally anything and Stanley would be an annoying little shit when he needed to be.

Most teachers prayed that they didn't have the two boys together in their classes. They were both good students who were on honor role and got amazing grades, its just they would find ways to annoy each other and bickered like an old married couple.

The two boys had many firsts together. Stanley taught Richie how to ride his bike without training wheels, Richie helped Stanley through his first Panic attack, sneaking into a R rated movies, Richie was the reason Stanley found a Barred owl nest,fighting a demon clown... etc

The boys also had there first kiss together, they were about 15 when it happened. The boys were just hanging out after school working on a project and Richie asked Stan to kiss him. Stanley looks at his best friend and kisses him. Richie kisses him back, the kiss lasted like 5 seconds and then after the boys went back to there homework.

They don’t really talk about that kiss until later when Richie comes out to Stan as Bisexual. Stanley is super supportive, saying that he already kinda guessed knew but he was proud of him nonetheless.

As they get older, more and more loser start leaving and forgetting, leaving just Stan, Richie and Mike. (The order in my head goes Bev, Bill, Ben, Eddie)

Richie is heartbroken after eddie leaves the summer before their senior year and turns to Stan for comfort. Stanley,of course ,helps out his best friend. Mike helps out as well but since Stanley knows him best, mike lets him take the lead.

Mike, Stanley and Richie get really close and hang out every day, trying and figure out why the other losers forgot. This is where Mike agrees to stay behind so that he doesn’t forgot.

Throughout the school year Richie gets really nervous about going away to college because he doesn’t want to forget and gets Stanley to apply to the same colleges as him. Stanley also doesn’t want to forget so he does

But the clown has it ways and they don’t get into the same colleges. The boys are devastated. And Richie even considers just not going to college at all and just following Stanley to Georgia. Stanley doesn’t like that idea and knows how badly Richie wants to get as far away from Derry as he can.

The summer after graduation, the boys plus Mike plan a huge week long camping trip because Stanley got early admission and has to leave early for college. They try to make the best out of it but Richie is a hot mess the whole trip.

Stanley leaves two days after they get back from the trip. The Tozier’s take off of work to help pack Stanley’s things into the his car/say goodbye. Maggie cry’s when she hugs Stanley for the last time and Went holds back his when it’s his turn. When Stanley gets to Richie, they are both in hysterics. They can barely get any words out.

Stanley hands Richie his bird book and Richie gives Stanley a mix tape hoping that will help them remember each other. (It doesn’t) Stanley gives Richie one last hug and gets into his car and drives off.

Richie calls Stanley every day up until he leaves for college, then the calls slowly start to fade. Both the boys know that they have to call someone but they can’t remember who.

A few weeks after the calls stop coming Stanley meets Patty Blum, she reminds him of someone but he can’t place his finger on it. They become best friends quickly and later start dating. Stanley is head over heels in love with her but he can’t help but feel like he’s still missing something(or someone)important. They date throughout college and get married a little after they graduate. With the money they got from the wedding, they buy a cute house to start there lives together. Stanley creates an accounting firm with a friends from college that becomes pretty successful.

Richie makes lots of friends during his time in college but none of them fill the Stan sized whole in his heart. Senior year of college he meets his future manager Steve during a open mic. Steve is witty and quick thinking, and finds Richie somewhat funny. They become quick friends and Steve offers Richie a chance at becoming big. Richie takes the offer and drops out of college. He becomes Richie “Trashmouth” Tozier the loud mouth comedian.

Not really. Taylor likes stuff she can dance to (hip hop, pop, electronica, etc.) while Felix is way into metal and rock.

They both have ironclad stomachs and will eat just about anything. However, Felix has a much bigger sweet tooth than Taylor, and Taylor likes spicy stuff a bit more than Felix.

Ginny often says Taylor and Felix are "two halves of a whole idiot." They are both energetic, funny, fearless and more than anything else, they both share a desire to see the colony set free of the Board's influence.

Very, VERY active. Felix is Taylor's first partner, so she's a bit naive, but she's very enthusiastic. Felix has had a lot more experience, but not all of it has been positive. my favorite female character: Betty-Ann and Mary-Ann. Partially because of the hockey thing, but also because I enjoy that they are women who are dudebros who are sick of men's bullshit. Also they are a peak comedic duo and, crucially, they are in love even if they haven't figured that out yet.

my favorite male character: For season one, Super Soft Wayne. For seasons two and later, Reilly and Jonesy. They're the only characters that really seem to develop and grow as people throughout the series so I'm more invested in them than anyone else, and also they're two halves of a whole idiot which is always a fun dynamic.

my favorite book/season/etc: This show stays mostly consistent across seasons, but I'll say season 5 which is nothing but banger after banger.

my anti otp: I'm not a fan of Wayne/Daryl which I know a lot of people ship, although I don't hate it – I just don't really get it and I prefer Wayne/Rosie. Also this isn't really the question, but I'm getting kind of tired of all the guys being in love with Bonnie McMurray (especially the non-hicks, as per Sleepover).

my favorite female character: Do I have to choose between Nat, Ziig, and Laura? I know that's almost all the female characters but I love them all... Nat is probably the most compelling so far though, I hope she gets as much or more focus next season.

my favorite male character: Goody and/or Sanger. Forced to pick, probably Sanger since he has a bit more of a fleshed out personality.

my favorite book/season/etc: There's only one season so far but hopefully they keep getting better from here!

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): Veteran Presence. The whole show kind of melds into one though, there's very few self-contained plot threads.

my favorite cast member: I don't know anything most of the cast members have done so I'll say Keeso by default

my favorite ship: Shoresy/Laura or Nat/Laura.

a character I’d die defending: Nat.

a character I just can’t sympathize with: Honestly I'm not a fan of Michaels even after his heel-face turn, mostly because of the scene where he just has his dick out while talking to his (female, clearly very uncomfortable) boss alone in his apartment.

a character I grew to love: Shoresy himself. Like I said, I hated him on Letterkenny (even though he is funny), but I really like what they've done with him here and I'm excited to see him grow and improve.

my anti otp: God I wish Shoresy's foster sisters weren't dating each other. Aside from that, I'm not really into Miig/Sanguinet but only because Miig hasn't been given much of a personality yet and we haven't seen enough of them interacting directly to really care about their relationship. No real antis though.

AU where the ML casts are angels. A.K.A Paradise AU

- So basically in this AU, heaven is like a non stop working environment? Kind of like cells at work and the concept of time is much, much slower here. They all work to keep earth at bay. One heaven year = ten human years. There are billions and billions of angels.

- Everyone goes by a nickname whilst their real names are only known by their parents and their life partner UwU

- Marinette is currently the angel of life and creation. Rarest gift of them all. She can create little butterflies, delicious fruit, and even purify diseases, illnesses, etc. However, creating what she WANTS is extremely hard. Kind of like lucky charm and the miraculous cleansing light. She’s only getting stronger and stronger. She is known as “Ladybug”.

- Adrien is the angel of death and destruction, a grim reaper in a sense. Marinette's counterpart from the start of existence. He's a few human years older than her, almost a decade and before her existence, plagues ran rampant throughout earth till she was born. He has to wear special gloves created by Mari to ensure he doesn't destroy anything he touches. The only thing he physically cannot hurt or destroy is Marinette because they're two halves of a whole. As the years go by, he finds it easier to control his powers despite them growing. He’s known as “Chat Noir”.

- They're hopelessly in love with each other but won't confess cos they're idiots. Over one thousand human years and they haven't even kissed! They’re childhood friends and know each other’s real names since they’re so close. They try their best to flirt, confess, etc, but it always turns out to be a silly disaster.

- They’re treated like a Princess and Prince and everybody loves them. The Guardians can’t wait to see them married and have full control of Heaven as they become arch angels.

- When humans and animals die, Adrien is one of the main angels who helps to escort them to the afterlife. It’s a really sad job for him but Marinette always gives him optimism:

“They will live new lives here, Chaton. A much happier and sweeter life. It will only be a blink of an eye for them till their loved ones join them here. Think of it as a permanent holiday?”

“As always, you’re right My Lady,” Adrien’s eyes softened and his heart skipped a beat before leaning in and puckered his lips against Marinette’s soft cheek, closer to her lips than usual.

Marinette couldn’t help but inhale sharply and blush brighter than a strawberry, causing the smug boy to laugh.

- There are two ways to become an angel: An angel has to give birth to you or a former human chooses to become an angel instead of going to the afterlife.

- Ladybug and Chat Noir have large, beautiful wings. LB’s is as bright as snow whilst CN’s as mysterious as the night.

- Chloe (Or Queen Bee) is an angel of beauty and Chat’s cousin. She’s very snobby and bratty like her canon counterpart but isn’t a bully. More like that rich best friend with a hidden, soft heart.

- Alya (Rena Rouge) is an angel of knowledge. She’s Ladybug’s best friend and she’s exactly like her canon counterpart. Always on the look out for the truth, matchmaking LB and CN, etc.

- Nino (Carapace) is an angel of protection and Chat's best friend. He however mingles a lot with angels of music (Like Luka) because he enjoys it a lot. He’s also like his canon counterpart and often has to keep Alya in check so she doesn’t go off rails.

- Tikki and Plagg were the former Ladybug and Chat Noir till Marinette and Adrien were born. They’re now their mentors along with the rest of the Arch Angels who are called “The Guardians”. They lead the guardians and are the strongest angels in the whole of heaven. Tikki is the logical, hardworking one whilst Plagg is the lazy, mischievous one.

- Kagami (Ryuuko) is an angel of fire whilst Luka (Viperion) is an angel of music. The duo are complete opposites but surprisingly compliment each other. They both adore Ladybug which causes Chat to get a bit jealous of them even though they don’t have romantic intentions. So, whenever he spots one of them nearby, he’s quick to latch onto Marinette like a needy kitten.

- No one finds Chat Noir dangerous or intimidating despite his powers. In fact, they all find him endearing and cute. Kind of like a baby penguin with a plastic knife.

- Everyone has unique halos and wings. No two are the same but you do have a match.

- Marinette’s father and Adrien’s mother are former human beings.

- Gabriel is a reformed demon >:D Tho, he’s still quite cold to others but he is a much better father here compared to canon. Maybe a bit like Doofenshmirtz but with a fashion like flair.

- Angels can be killed by rogue angels or demons. These beings are called Akumas. They not only kill angels but they also lay havoc on the human world...

- A band of angels called Miraculous hunt down these akumas and purify them. Surprise surprise it’s LB, CN and co.

- Adrien and Marinette are much more bolder, happier and at ease with each other here. Adrien loves to joke, tease and play pranks on Marinette whilst the latter likes to play along, prank back and so on. One time, Marinette turned Adrien into a kitten because he accidentally cataclysmed her flowers. No one ever let him live it down.

- It is a death wish to get Chat Noir or Plagg genuinely angry. When Chat and Ladybug were ten, an akuma managed to strike LB’s wings which caused her to almost fall to her demise. Chat unconsciously turned the akuma into nothing, eradicating it from existence. Like he’s the king of demons himself. As a result, Earth faced an ice age for a few years. Marinette has scars on her wings as a reminder of what happened.

Artefact, Wondrous item.

An intricately carved wooden puzzle box contains this deck of cards, which are luxuriantly illustrated and edged in gold foil. When you find the deck, it may contain as few as 13 or as many as 22 cards.

Unless otherwise stated, as soon as you look at the card you’ve drawn from the deck, its magic takes effect. You may draw several cards at once, but must declare the number ahead of time.

Alternate Balance. Your mind suffers a splitting alteration, and a piece of your soul is wrenched from your body. A creature identical to yourself appears within 60 ft. of you. It has the same ability scores, hit points, features, proficiencies, memories, and items as your character, excluding artefacts.

This creature represents all the aspects of yourself you are not proud of. For good or neutral-aligned characters, the duplicate’s goal is to fulfil your darkest, most selfish whims. For evil-aligned characters, it will try to foil your evil deeds at every turn. The DM must decide under what circumstances the Duplicate will vanish, and your soul will be cleft back together.

Alternate Comet. Your body freezes in time and your soul is transported to the plane of thought, where an encounter awaits you. The monsters present might be old phobias, ghosts from your past, or some similar manifestation of a personal fear. If you single-handedly win the encounter, your soul is returned to your body, and you gain one level. Alternately, you can choose to leave the plane of thought and return to your body at any time during the encounter, in which case you do not gain a level, and the card fades away.

Alternate Donjon. You disappear from your current location and appear in a locked cell within a dungeon you do not recognize. The dungeon cannot be entered or exited by means of teleportation magic.

Alternate Euryale. The card's medusa-like visage curses you. Whenever you move during combat, you can choose to halve your speed OR roll a dexterity saving throw at a DC of 8. On a failed save, you fall prone. This curse can be lifted with a Remove Curse spell.

The Alternate Fates. Reality's fabric unravels and spins anew, allowing you to avoid or erase one event as if it never happened. You can use the card's magic as soon as you draw the card or at any other time before you die. When the card disappears, it leaves a permanent mark on your body which some creatures may recognize.

Alternate Flames. You are briefly mentally connected to your destined adversary. You each learn one another's general location and identity, as well as a vague idea of their each other's alignment or intentions. You can talk to one another as through the Sending spell.

This connection might only occur once, or it could return at intervals. Neither party can force the connection to open nor close.

Alternate Fool. Your progress is stunted. You do not gain a level next time you are meant to, whether by milestone or XP.

Alternate Gem. You can activate this card multiple times. As an action, you may hold this card and ask for any currency, raw materials, spell components, or non-magical equipment and have it appear at your feet. The card crumbles into a fine sand once the total value requested reaches 50,000gp.

Alternate Idiot. The memory of a certain person, event, location, or object of the DM's choice disappears from your mind. You also have no memory of drawing this card, which vanishes once the effect takes place. This memory can be restored with a Wish or Greater Restoration spell.

Alternate Jester. Your body morphs and changes into that of a different playable race, and your racial features, Hit Points, and Ability Scores are adjusted accordingly. Your appearance maintains certain recognizable hallmarks, such as eye and hair colour, bone structure, et cetera, insofar as your new race allows it. Alternately, instead of changing your race, your DM may grant you a random Natural Weapon, which you become proficient with. You can summon and dismiss this weapon at will, in a manner appropriate to it. (e.g, retracting fangs and claws.)

Natural Weapons: Your natural weapon may be claws, fangs, spines, horns, a tail, etc. Your unarmed strikes with this weapon deal an additional 1d6 bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, whichever is appropriate, and you are proficient with your unarmed strikes. The natural weapon is magic and you have a +1 bonus to the attack and damage rolls you make using it. While you are wielding a single light weapon and no shields, your natural weapon counts as a second light weapon for the purpose of two-weapon fighting.

Alternate Key. The card dissolves away into a palm-sized key. In your mind, you can sense the location of the great treasure it leads to, though you do not know what the treasure is.

Alternate Knight. When you activate this card at any time after drawing it, it will transform into a +1 magic longsword. You may choose any willing NPC to knight into service, making them a 4th-level Fighter or Paladin, in addition to any levels they already have. The character retains these levels and the sword will become bonded to them for as long as they are loyal to you. If the character loses loyalty to you, they lose these levels and the longsword turns back into a card, reappearing in the deck.

Alternate Moon. You are granted the ability to cast the wish spell 1d3 times. You can direct this wish at a specific God or Patron. When all charges are expended, the card vanishes into glittering dust.

Alternate Rogue. You become an outcast from a community of the DM's choice which once welcomed you, whether it be your hometown, your religious order, or even your race as a whole. Though people who know you well have not changed their opinions on you, strangers have become suspicious and distrusting of you.

Alternate Ruin. The world forgets about you. All memory and written record of you and your actions disappear from the minds of the living. This can only be undone with divine intervention, or a Wish spell.

Alternate Skull. You summon an avatar of death—a ghostly humanoid skeleton clad in a tattered black robe and carrying a spectral scythe. It appears in a space of the GM's choice within 10 feet of you and will fight for three rounds before disappearing. If anyone other than you attacks the Avatar of Death, those attack have no effect. (the following statblock is different from the official one.)

Actions

Reaping Scythe. The avatar sweeps its spectral scythe through a creature within 5 feet of it, dealing 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage plus 4 (1d8) necrotic damage. The creature must make a Death saving Throw. A failed death save becomes permanent and leaves a ghastly scar, and can only be reset with a Wish or Greater Restoration Spell.

Alternate Star. You gain two new proficiencies of your choice. These proficiencies can be with skills, tools, instruments, armour, or weapons. (for armour, it can only be one class higher than your current proficiency. None to light, light to medium, or medium to heavy. You must still meet the minimum strength requirement for heavy armour.)

Alternate Sun. A wondrous item (which the GM determines) appears in your hands. In addition, you gain resistance to one damage type of the GM’s choice, or one of your preexisting resistances becomes an immunity.

Alternate Talons. Every magic item you wear or carry gains one Minor Detrimental Property, determined randomly. Artifacts gain a Major Detrimental Property.

Alternate Throne. Intelligent creatures suddenly recognize you as a royal or otherwise powerful and influential. You gain proficiency in either the Persuasion or Intimidation skill, and you double your proficiency bonus on checks made with that skill.

Alternate Vizier. The image of an eye appears on your forehead until this card's effect is concluded. At any time you choose within one year of drawing this card, you can ask a question about a possible future, and mentally receive a truthful answer to that question. Besides information, the answer can help guide you toward or away from that future. In other words, the knowledge comes with wisdom on how to apply it.

The Alternate Void. This black card spells disaster. Your soul is swapped out for that of a great evil that was banished to the void long ago.

Mai’s Relationships: Part 1

I’m procrastinating on homework and decided to work on this random ass post about my OC 😂

Tomohito Sugino

Address each other as: “Tomohito” or “Domo” and “Mai”

(The Domo nickname is inspired by one of Fumiko’s ideas UwU)

Besties. Nothing can ever change that. He was the first friend she made when she transferred to Kunugigaoka in 2nd year, and they’ve stuck together since then.

Although their very first meeting was a little unconventional...Sugino almost accidentally hit her with a baseball and she almost threw hands hehe. But they got along instantly after that.

They bonded with similar outgoing, positive personalities and a shared fondness for sports. They hang out all the time and have become so comfortable with each other, they can just randomly show up to each other’s house. Sugino’s family basically adopted Mai, and her family loves him. It’s common to see these two hanging out at a corner store, tossing baseballs at each other to catch, sending memes in class, etc.

Mai is very defensive of him, and will absolutely speak up about his baseball skill, kind nature, leadership, etc. She even stays by his side during the baseball arc to support him. Nakamura calls them platonic soulmates, and both of them honestly agree.

They bicker sometimes since they both can be fiery, but it’s out of fun 95% of the time. The rare occasions they seriously fight are because of Sugino’s overprotective nature/patronizing, and Mai’s clinginess and tendency to get jealous. But regardless of any differences, they will always have each other’s backs. Chaotic besties forever.

Yukiko Kanzaki

Address each other as: “Yukiko” and “Mai”

They did not get off to a good start...it was rather rocky. They just didn’t have good impressions of each other, and neither cared to truly get to know the other. Kanzaki thought Mai was hyper, brash, and difficult. Mai thought Kanzaki was stuck-up and vain because of her idol status. The girls avoided each other, and Mai was less than ecstatic to hear about Sugino’s crush.

Finally they’re forced to spend time together during the Kyoto trip, when Group 4 forms. They begin to get along more and find a couple shared interests, the ice slowly breaking. Then the kidnapping happens, and Mai stays with the boys and Okuda to find them. Mai is given a job to discreetly locate the girls inside the warehouse and basically figure out it’s layout. She sneaks in and sees the girls, and unintentionally hears Kanzaki’s secret about her 2nd year gaming phase, and is shocked. But now she feels more understanding for her. Mai and the guys and Okuda save the girls, and she especially approaches Kanzaki, making sure she’s okay. Kanzaki opens up to the whole group about liking video games and such.

Later that night at the hotel, Mai admits to Kanzaki that she overheard her family story and rebellious phase without meaning to. Kanzaki says it’s okay, and thanks her for saving them, and for understanding. They both admit they had misconceptions about each other, but see that they’re not true.

The girls have an extremely close friendship after that, sharing interests in video games, e-girl fashion, etc. Mai’s competitive nature dies every time she plays against Kanzaki and gets completely owned and teased. They hang out a lot, and Kanzaki comes to basically live at Mai’s home, with how often she’s there. They’re the type of friends to sneak out of an important meeting to play games and talk together. They both become very protective of each other, and grow to think of each other as family.

They definitely balance each other out in terms of personalities and attitudes. Kanzaki is more calm and rational compared to Mai’s bold and outspoken self. Mai’s open-book nature contrasting against Kanzaki’s aloof image. Even if these differences can lead to some clashes, they both appreciate it a lot, and value each other’s views.

Also they definitely try to help each other with their best/worst subjects. Kanzaki trying to help Mai with Japanese work is the funniest thing to see because eventually they just mutually give up and move onto video games.

Hinata Okano

Address each other as: “Hinata” and “Mai”

These two are like two halves. Plain and simple. They hit it off super well on the first day of meeting each other, which was in 3-E. Well, it’s more like Mai wouldn’t stop bothering her or starting up conversation lmao. But they had instant chemistry, especially when around mutual close friends like Kayano and Maehara.

As soon as she realized they had the same birthday, Mai happily declared them to be sisters, and nothing would ever change that. Okano rolled her eyes, but secretly loved it. Okano uses that against her, saying that “Since she’s the older sister, do as she says.” But Mai always retorts with “But I’m taller.”

They’re extremely close, and bond over so many things. Being sporty, liking skate-boarding, teasing Maehara, etc. They’re definitely each other’s go-to person for venting and confiding in, since they somehow are almost always on the same wavelength.

They can get into bad arguments though, given their similar temperaments. But it’s over in 2.5 seconds, and after screaming at each other, they’re laughing at memes together.

They love challenging each other in PE and assassination-related things since they have pretty similar styles. They love when they get partnered together, although it’s not as common as they’d like. Overall just an adorably vicious combo of short-tempered cuties.

Justice Kimura

Address each other as: “Kimura” and “Mai”

Oh boy. Whenever these two are around each other, they just become a wild gremlin duo. They equally enable each other when it comes to being chaotic. They’re just really good friends who can be playful with each other.

They became friends and got to know each other mainly thanks to PE and mutual friends like the class athletes. Before they knew it, they started to just hang out without others, they vibed so well.

Kimura lives to make Mai burst out laughing with his random edgy jokes and humor. There’s just always a lot of laughter whenever these two are together.

That said, Mai is not immune to Kimura’s worst antics, like the parkour incident. For the first time, she gets so upset at him but after yelling her head off like he expects, she just crumples to the floor and cries. She really needed that good grade to show her mom, and because Gakushuu had spent so much time tutoring her...

Kimura feels like shit and apologizes, and they don’t talk for a couple days. Mai definitely forgives him and moves past it though. Sometime during watching the kids at the school, she hugs him and apologizes for going off on him. Kimura says it’s okay since he was being a selfish idiot in the first place. Their friendship goes back to normal UwU.

Mai loves to tease Kimura for A LOT of reasons, but his name is never one of them. She calls him “Shorty,” “Dumpling,” and always pinches his chubby cheeks, to his annoyance. She definitely roasts him whenever he pulls some harmless stupid stunt that results in disaster. But on a serious note, she’s his biggest hype-man and always cheers him on in PE and in schoolwork. If anyone makes fun of his name, she absolutely will deck them.

Karma Akabane

Address each other as: “Karma” and “May-chan”

Almost everyone was nervous on his first day, and how these would inevitably meet. The class was certain that Karma would test Mai’s already-thin patience, and they wouldn’t get along.

But to their surprise...these two did get along. Really well, actually.

Mai, a natural moodmaker and very open-minded girl, appreciated Karma’s quirks and the odd mystery surrounding everything he did. She thought he made an already weird-situation even wackier and more interesting. She also couldn’t help but have respect for how successful he was at his first try, although it was buried under her envy.

Karma in turn also appreciated her, and how she was so easy to read. Mai is literally an open book, which Karma gravitates towards. In the first ten minutes of meeting her, he realized she was totally fun to tease because of how irritated and snappy she’d get. Hence, their friendship formed and Karma teases her every single day. He also calls her “May-chan” in a very exaggerated American accent since her name is commonly mispronounced like that, and it’s the quickest way to annoy her.

Overall, these two are really good friends, but definitely in a very sibling-like manner. They make fun of each other a lot, but would murder anyone else (outside of 3-E) who dares to. Even though they’re around the same age, it sometimes feels as though Mai is his younger sister. She loves to drag him around by the arm sleeve or wrist, for no other reason to drive him crazy. Also, they both are strawberry snack enthusiasts, which they bond over. Occasionally, Mai will assist him in his pranks, just to try and make sure she doesn’t become the target of one. Nope, she still is. She’s either entertained by or tired of his shit.

Also...these two clash a bit in Civil War, because Karma’s vagueness really frustrates her. In general, Mai tries to keep an open perspective of the issues surrounding Group 4 leading up to Civil War, so she’s not completely pissed at him. But she does call him out and speak to him upfront about what problems he’s causing.

Don’t worry, their relationship definitely improves afterwards, once everyone receives some closure. Their teasing sibling-like dynamic continues to stay throughout high school and in the future.

XDD <333 dw lol it’s my and @moonsandstarsaregay‘s lil fever-brain-child thing XDD we decided Sherlock adaptations weren’t gay/neurodivergent/cool enough so we’re making our own XDD here’s a long info dump, here’s a post with some specific character questions answered/ more snippets, and here’s an overview XDD:

Watson: wholesome boy, also an absolutely UNIT, was adopted when he was ~13 with his three “brothers” Kent, Carrie, and Bill by a police chief in Seattle named Carlton Watson. He doesn’t consider himself smart even tho he fucked around and got a doctorate just for kicks. He meets Sherlock on a case and Sherlock moves from Portland to Seattle in 1 day so he can work with Watson more and then their wacky adventures start

Sherlock: pretty rich white boy who knows it. On the surface that’s all he is--brash, loud, arrogant, etc. But he’s dealt with a lot (that I won’t divulge for spoilery reasons) and has a lot of weird quirks that become explained later on. (i.e burning a large chunk of the money he gets from cases and saving the ashes/ paying people back for literally everything to the point where he calculates the amount of dishsoap Watson uses to wash his cereal bowls with and pays him back for it/ etc.)

We also officially have a story outline!!!!!!! And we changed the title to “The Problem with Being Ow(n)ed” which lol makes sense later.

Basically the story will be split in two halves-- #1 being a collection of short stories kinda in the style of a procedural cop show with mini-chapters between them focused on character interactions. Then the second half is all one big story with multiple chapters and no time difference like an actual story.

The whole story’s gonna be a lot about trauma, and healing, and getting over extremely toxic relationships, while also being pretty light-hearted (I hope XD) and funny. Watson and Sherlock are idiots and it shows XD.

that doesn’t stop her from being over optimistic and naive. her motivations and her actions paint a picture of a girl who’s trying to make the world a better place but with no idea on how to actually do so.

she’s just like jaune, the only difference is jaune seems to have given up on being the big damn hero after pyrrha’s death. now he’s only fighting to save the people he loves.

ruby’s trying to save the world because “it’s the right thing to do” but struggles when she comes up against a problem caused by people willfully doing the wrong thing in a less straightforward manner. she struggles with shades of grey

jaune’s saving the world, because ruby’s a part of it. his primary concern has shifted from stopping evil to protecting his friends. as a result he moves more comfortably through the shades of grey that surround him.

jaune’s realized that heroes only end up dead. and if he wants a better world he’ll need a plan. but he won’t try because what’s the point? he doesn’t care about anything other than his friends. sure he still helps where he can but not like ruby.

This best sums up how I’ve always seen them, and one of the reasons why I think they compliment each other so well.

Cause despite Ruby’s optimistic Black and White world view clashing with Jaune’s Knight in Sour armor cynical shades of grey, they both ultimately want to do the right thing.

I’d like to think, at some point, that Ruby may start to heavily question her mindset, only for Jaune to admit it’s one of her more admirable traits. That even when everything is against them, when everything seems lost, she’s there’s with optimism in her heart to lead them to victory.

This in turn, would lead Ruby to confessing how she admired Jaune’s level headedness , and how despite his cynical views tempering his outlook on life, he’ll always do what he believes is the right thing to do.

This would lead to Jaune lightening up a little more, and daring to have a little more optimism in his life and see the world a little less grey, While Ruby would temper her attitude, excepting that while the world isn’t always as Black and White as she thought it was, it still won’t stop her from being her.

But that’s just my two cents on the matter. Kind of Cliche, but it’s one that I enjoy.

exactly, ruby isn’t hopelessly naive but she is still naive she still finds herself being over optimistic and it results in her team finding themselves in trouble. though if you look at team rwby they’re all very childish at the start.

jaune might seem like the perfect person to follow but his main problem is he’s lost his vision. he’s still aggressive and still tries to make things better. a step up from the normal “i just deal with shit as it comes” mentality of pessimists but he needs a motivation to really shine.

ruby’s world view offers that but she can’t reach it on her own because as we’ve seen in the most recent volume she’s too caught up on doing the “right thing” in situations where there’s no single best answer. jaune avoids this with the mentality of “i can’t save them all, i won’t even try, but i’ll get as many as i can”

but he only finds himself in situations where he’s able to make those choices because of ruby dragging him along.

I couldn’t agree more. RWBY may not be perfect, but honestly, I’m grateful for the show if only because it gave us are favorite Dork Duo. Whether it’s as platnoic bros, or precious lovers, there can’t be a Ruby without Jaune, and there can’t be a Jaune without Ruby.

One thing I absolutely hate is them turning Ruby pessimistic as an attempted character growth. They had a wonderful dynamic of Ruby saying that this should do X to save the world, the people, the maidens fair, the dogs, etc., and then Jaune would come up with a plan to do so with a lower chance of dying. RWBY are very good at getting into and out of problems. Ren is very good at going with the flow, (both active and passive), and Nora is just waiting for Jaune to tell her to hit something with her hammer.

Removing Ruby’s optimism flat out eliminates the quest, and the entire point of the story. This is why S6 had no plot and S7 relied on a M*A*S*H plot / turning Ironwood from necessarily fascist to a comic book super villain.
