So I has an idea for an undertale infection AU.

So this was specifically inspired by @shadowy-suitcase-herring-neck 's infection AU, but you can imagine it with others.

(TW talk of disease, death, bites, and apocalypse stuff!)

So, Lust Sans. We all know that monsters in Underlust weren't always, well, Lustful. That's due to the fallen humans soultraits, of Lust, right?

While I'm not entirely sure if this is fanon/canon, but we know about the vaccine, yeah? The one thar made monsters lustful.

Well, hear me out. Since there's INFINITE AUs, I think it's pretty obvious that atleast SOME of the Sanses would be immune to the infection, atleast until the virus mutates itself enough to be powerful enough to infect, said Sanses.

I think it's like a tier list. The first variation could infect a small portion of Sanses, with a few being immune. But that few could be infected by the second tier, which couldn't infect third tier immunity, do you get what I'm saying?

I think people like Reaper sans, would be 4th tier immune, only a VERY strong strained could infect a literal God. People like Six-Bones would have 3rd tier immunity, so still pretty strong.

And, I think people like Lust would have that lowest immunity, 2nd tier, where they're safe from the first variation of it. The reason why, is because his soul has that Lust vaccine in it. And I think the vaccine has more crap in it than just pure Lust, I think it'd be like a wall to the first variation of the Virus..

Woah, did I just accidentally create an AU? Cool.

ANYGAYS—I've depicted what I think that'd be like, here's a sketch of Lust, with two bite marks. Now clearly, he's not infected, but I think he's fully aware that he won't be immune for long. Especially if it's Lust from Shadowy's infection AU, they confirmed they think a medic role would fit him. So I think he'd have some medical knowledge.

Thus, I think he'd wear a muzzle with a mask underneath. But the muzzle was created SPECIFICALLY so he couldn't take it off himself, it requires tedious help from another person.

He knows, that he's not gonna survive this if they don't make a cure, NOW. He doesn't know why he hasn't turned yet for sure, but the idea I just presented you is his main theory. But he knows that if any of the other underlust survivors get it, (I'm saying the only survivors are him, mettaton, and frisk) than he'd be at risk too.

...For now though, the muzzle is a precaution, keeps him from being able to bite anyone.

Welcome Taleblr!

I am Manny and this is my take on the mlp infection AUs- with a Taleblr twist. This blog is an Ask blog where you, the audience can ask the infected and survivors questions.

With that out of the ways, let us address the infection of this AU:

The Unicorn Virus

The Unicorn Virus is a psychological and magical based infection that originated from the unicorns. Papa Acachalla was patient 0 having been infected by the cursed book. He attacked his family before fleeing and has not been seen since. In this next paragraph we will be addressing how the virus operates.

The virus spreads through three common forms: Bites, sparkles, and contact with cursed objects. Bites are self explanatory, an infected bites a healthy victim and spreads the unicorns magic. This method is considered the least dangerous as the bitten limb can be amputated before the virus progresses too far. Sparkles are the spores that the unicorns hosts expel. Almost like a glittery aura, these small spores surround the host. When threatened the spores will cover a greater distance to eliminate the threat. These spores if inhaled or eaten will cause immediate infection in victims. They will immediately progress to the second stage. Cursed objects are the rarest form of infection but they are no less dangerous. Each item holds a potent form of the virus. One that makes its hosts much more dangerous than the common infected. They too will progress quickly.

Above I mentioned that the virus has stages. There are currently five known stages of the viral progression.

The first stage is the initial infection. For those infected via bite, the first stage will be pink spores that surround the skin around the bite. For those infected via cursed object or sparkle spores, the first stage is pink spores that leak from their orifices. This is the only stage currently curable.

The second stage is the mental infection. The virus has spread to the hosts brain. There is no saving them. They will begin to hear the unicorns within their own thoughts. They will seek out brightly colored objects and blood. During the later half of this stage, the host will experience a loss of identity. If asked what their names are they might answer with “Cuddly Kittysnuggles” or “Stardust Sprinkleshine.” They are still killable during this stage, do not let it progress.

The third stage is the growth stage. The hosts skeleton will begin to grow, though each hosts growth varies, all will grow a horn. The horn appears to be made of pure bone, it will grow through the hosts forehead skin and continue growing until [unknown]. The rest of the hosts skeleton will also elongate, the skin does not seem to be able to keep up with the growths and will split. They still appear conscious as they have been observed talking to others. Easiest to avoid as they attempt to lure survivors.

The fourth stage is the spore stage. Until this stage the infecteds spores cannot spread beyond their body. The spores will leak from the horn surrounding the host. They will attempt to share these sparkles with anyone uninflected. Do not let them, use gas masks and bandage wounds to avoid infection. Bites are no longer their goal. Avoid at all costs, they are no longer waiting.

The fifth and final stage is the complete stage. Not much is known. The hosts seem to lack any former memories, they seem to believe they are the unicorns. Walk on four legs.

Alright, so as of right now, I'm brainstorming ideas for the infection/virus au. These are the concepts I have so far and will expand upon in the future

Fair warning for descriptions and shitty doodles of gore, injury, and body horror!

The Splitting Smile Virus

INCREDIBLY stupid name, which will HOPEFULLY change once I develop the virus more.

The Splitting Smile virus is thought to have originated on Cold Island, where the first few patients had been checked into the hospital for tweedle-pox like symptoms. They were quickly moved to quarantine and soon had to be terminated for the safety of staff members and other patients.

As time passed, the virus had spread amongst many other monsters. It is unknown what every method of spreading is, although some assume it to be contact of fluids. In an attempt to escape the deadly disease, many fled the island. This only caused those with invisible symptoms to carry on with the destruction this infection creates.

There are two known variants of the virus so far, although both share very similar stages and symptoms.

Variant A

This variant is the most common and can seemingly be caught by monsters of any kind.

At the beginning stage, the main symptoms present are fatigue, fever, headaches, and general ailments that one would commonly look over. However, one may also experience increased appetite, watering eyes, and visible rashes. These rashes are typically very dark in color, usually a muted tone of the monsters flesh color.

This stage is thought to be treatable.

However, there are still yet to be confirmed cases of the above statement.

The next stage continues with many of the above symptoms, though they are boosted. The aforementioned rashes resemble splotches of ink, visible lumps now beginning to emerge. These lumps are medium in size. A past study on a patient who had died at this stage revealed that, within these tumors, mouths had begun to form. The teeth of these mouths would begin to chew through the patients skin and emerge, causing irreparable damage and altering the monsters anatomy.

It is also to note that similar coloring as the rashes may be visible around the monsters original mouth if one is present. The skin that covers the monsters skull had seemingly shrunken, causing one to have the appearance of smiling. The eyes are described as dead, no longer able to blink.

As of this stage, the infected monster may no longer act as oneself or have moments in between sentience where they would act incredibly different. They are described as hostile, skiddish, or a combination of both. Speaking is no longer an option for these monsters.

There is no known treatment at this stage. However, some argue that there may be a chance.

The third stage begins when the mouths have fully emerged and continue to spread. The monster is no longer able to communicate nor have control over itself. Many have speculated that it now only has one goal; to spread the virus.

This stage is the most common in which a monster is terminated. They are incredibly dangerous and can survive in this phase for a very long period of time. The mouths continued to grow and deepen. In some cases, eyes begin to form as well.

There is no treatment for this stage.

The fourth and final stage is the death of the infected monster. As the mouths progress in growth, they begin to split the monsters apart; hence the naming of this virus.

For example, a mouth may appear on a monsters arm. As the mouth continues to grow, the top and bottom '"jaw" may disconnect, leading to the bottom half of the arm falling off.

Although injured, the infected monster will continue to attack/spread until it is simply unable to move, where it will then voluntarily die.

Some studies show that this phase has progressively been harder to reach for some cases, and it is speculation that the virus is still evolving to avoid the final stage.

There is no treatment for this stage.

Variant B

Variant B is almost exactly the same as Variant A. However, instead of multiple mouths, one giant mouth is present. Those infected with this variant tend to succumb to the damage far faster.

It is believed that this variant is primarily contracted by monsters with no visible mouths (ex: Cherubble, Clambles), although it is possible for any monster to become infected.

This variant is not as common.

I have such a feverish temperature that I am red, so I decided to get a test done, it came back negative. On the good side, I have no covid, on the bad side I seem to have some other virus. My boyfriend said I'm giving e-girl makeup vibes so at least I can work an aesthetic idk I'm so tired I'm going to take a nap.

I put on a shit ton of soothing lotions and took some medication, that is why I look shiny and this is actually the improved look lol

On the better side, the fever relaxes my muscles and I feel so much less pain related to my EDS. Fevers affect me pretty badly because my body temperature is usually on the lower side, so any change in temperature gets me feeling like shit. But it's nice to have no pain for a while, even though my body is not okay for other reasons.

If I am not around as much, this is probably why. Queue is on, as usual.

Vampires

Origins:

In terms of origins the vampire curse is quite different from the curses which shaped and created the other prominent species of the world. Perhaps it is simply due to the curse’s origin being different from the ones which affect witches and lycanthropes. Regardless, the virus which infected the first vampire has since been passed on to many others.

The Curse In Depth:

Apollo created the virus as a form of punishment for a man who dared to defy his will and strike against those whom Apollo supported. Though the virus was intended to be one which killed, it ultimately became one which adapted. The first man infected with vampirism was in fact the only male witch of those first created by the gods.

Virus - Original Side-effects:

Extreme sensitivity to sunlight. As the god Apollo holds dominion over the sun, his virus bears with it a sensitivity to sunlight for all who are infected by it.

Blood as a major source of nourishment. Because the virus is constantly reproducing once it has infected a host, it uses up an unnatural level of the host’s blood generation. For this reason vampires must obtain additional blood from an outside source.

Virus - Mutation Side-effects:

Since it originally infected its first host the vampiric virus has mutated significantly, adapting properties from its original host and passing them along when it is transferred to another host in order to keep itself alive.

Fangs. An early evolutionary requirement forced upon the virus when it used too much of its host’s blood source to reproduce and adapt. The fangs were developed as a method of extracting blood from a secondary source.

Enhanced senses and physical abilities. Another early evolutionary requirement was giving its host a means to hunt and over-power its preferred source of nutrition: human or supernatural blood. Heightened senses allowed the virus’ host to hunt better at night when the damage from sunlight was greatly reduced. Enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance would allow them to successfully hunt and feed from other supernaturals.

Immortality. Identified in, and adapted from, its original host, the virus has offered the benefit of immortality to every new host.

Virus - Infection:

The virus is spread to a new host in one of two ways: natural reproduction (i.e.: birth) or blood-exchange. That said, every new host has the potential to have one of three reactions to the virus:

The virus breaks something in the host’s mind, effectively turning them into a mindless predator driven by bloodlust. These vampires are quickly hunted down and disposed of.

The virus has little to no effect on the host’s mind, creating the “perfect” transition for a new host.

The virus does not break the mind, but bends it towards darkness and amplifies the bloodlust. These are considered the most dangerous of vampires, and often require a significant show of force when hunted.

Have you ever gotten an art request that went into such a feral level of detail that you were tempted to tell the person to draw it themselves?

Oh my lord. The instant I saw this ask a very specific one comes to mind. So I don't get many requests but there was one that I was very what the actual fuck. So the tumblr account itself was actually very very weird and kind of... uncomfortable? I'll include the ask (because I never did it) and it gives a vibe for like the account. The account no longer exists and I don't know if I still have screenshots of it. But it's weird and I can't describe it.

They included pictures as well. I did end up finding some screenshots I have of the blog but I'm not going to shed light on what the absolute mess of weird it was. Tbh I had no idea how to react to this. I very much wanted to tell them to go find someone else/do it themselves.

I have literally no idea what to say to this. No idea how I would have gone about drawing it. Kind of happy the account no longer exists because now I no longer feel like I have to. I think this is also a good example of why I like it when I get non-anon requests (especially when they're this weird) because then I can get a read of like should I actually do this request. I've gotten a few from accounts that made me uncomfortable/weird/or just undescribable in a sense that I didn't feel right drawing it. I will usually inform the person about this and explain the situation if I can. If I haven't contacted you or replied to the request ask then you should be fine. It's just obscure shit like this where I have to check.
