#truly one of the best sherlocks i've ever seen
There's a difference between shipping two characters and acknowledging the intense (usually gay) bond between characters. You guys get what I mean, right? Like I'm not just going insane?
Like a BSD example:
-I casually ship Louisa X Lucy because I feel like their dynamic could work in a romantic context and because I love it when girls are in love and they both deserve to be happy 🩷
-HOWEVER Chuuya and Dazai have an intense bond, they are one soul in two bodies, written and designed to compliment the other, Chuuya trusts Dazai with his life and vice versa, Dazai believed in Chuuya's humanity from the very beginning, their old and sorted dynamic, Chuuya being like the only one who understands Dazai's motives, and so, knowing all of this, I simply have no choice but to acknowledge their homosexuality because if I don't then I'm just being willfully ignorant
Or a MHA example:
-I somewhat ship Dabi x Hawks because it's hilarious whilst also having beautiful potential for angst
-BUT Bakugou and Midoriya quite simply just are gay as shit for each other and I have no choice but to accept it. Rivals constantly pushing the other, their complicated history and how they've both grown because of it, their understanding of the other, Bakugou basically trusting Midoriya with his fears and insecurities, Bakugou being the first to know about One for All, Kaachan Bakugou.
Or a MTP example:
-I guess you could say I ship Microsoft X Albert because I think it's sorta very funny and extremely plausible.
-MEANWHILE William and Sherlock are like the only person who understands each other and can keep up with them and Sherlock is diving off of buildings and cradling William's head as they fall (in love).
Or a JJK example:
-I kinda ship Maki X Nobara because I can and I want to and they could work
-ALTERNATIVELY Gojo and Geto where each others one and only best friend, best friend they ever had, knows his smell, his heart and soul know otherwise. They're just disgustingly in love and I hate it but there's nothing I can do about it except cry
Or a Haikyuu example:
-I do ship Hanamaki X Matsukawa because lord is it hilarious and the fanon presentation of a romantic relationship between them is always the funniest thing ever and the fics are so good
-YET Hinata and Kageyama are exactly what the other needed, Kageyama found his better half, their constant pushing of the other to do better, promises fulfilled and matches won, casual moments and casual touch. I did not choose to see them in a romantic light, they forced me to. I am a victim
Or a Merlin example:
-I dabble in shipping Percival X Gwaine purely because I can and no one is gonna stop me
-ALTHOUGH Merlin and Arthur are so gross and icky and care about each other so much and repeatedly risk their lives for the other and Arthur asked Merlin to hold him whilst he dies and Merlin spends forever waiting for Arthur's return. I just can't view them platonically or something after everything I've seen them do and I don't believe anyone who says that they truly don't seem them as romantic or at least something other than platonic or brotherly because how could you not??
Or a Doctor Who example:
-I could ship the Doctor X Jack because that's actually class
-UNFORTUNATELY that would be asking me to ignore the Doctor and Rose. He burned up a sun to say goodbye. He loved her. She loved him, was willing to never see her mother again if it meant she stayed with him. I'm sorry but cmonnnn
Nah but you get what I mean, right? Like I don't 'ship' these people, they're just IN LOVE and I hate them for it.

@1995lahaine tagged me to post 8 shows to get to know me 🤔 I'm only going to do shows that have ended which I think are worth revisiting. tagging @akajustmerry @anthonysperkins @summoneryuna @sonyarebecchi @toraks @a24thegreenknight @holly-mckenzie
Utopia (2013-2014) created by dennis kelly. beauty is terror we quiver before it etc etc oh this show is so violent and beautiful and so deeply human I explode every time I think about it. you know cristobal tapia de veer from the white lotus soundtrack but that is Nothing compared to the work he did on this.
Bojack Horseman (2014-2020). as someone who loves movies this show is truly the best meta fiction out there about Hollywood that isn't afraid to throw punches. hilarious and brutal. the animation format and animal absurdity allows them to tell real unrestrained narratives that I don't think live action could ever achieve. Raphael bob-waksberg will never get his foot off my neck
The Bisexual (2018) despite the title I genuinely think desiree akhavan made the greatest lesbian story of all time with this. short, sweet, and soul crushing precarious fleabag type miniseries. also she's sooooo hot oh my GOD
Mr. Robot (2015-2019) it's a shame people forgot about this show towards the end and stopped watching because it is truly theeee speculative epic of all time speaking to issues of capitalism and identity and rebellion. between this and the lazarus project it's like a spiritual sequel to Utopia in the way it explores how much of yourself you have to sacrifice to escape from All This. probably got my favourite needle drops of all time.
The Hour (2011-2012) can you believe the bbc cancelled a show about a bbc show trying to be cancelled? between this and the newsreader yeah I'm obsessed with dramas about people who don't get to tell the truth
Les Revenants (2012-2015) are you sure. are you sure you're not a ghost?
Cowboy Bebop (1998) of course.
Westworld (2016-2022) I hate this show so fucking much there's so many things wrong with it that get my blood boiling but it's also one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. the only thing that makes me feel human is the way I'm treated. I choose to see the beauty. motion picture soundtrack. ramin djawadi is everything to me.
these are my mains but I also highly recommend (other than the obvious succ/yj/iwtv/etc) :
WE ARE LADY PARTS
SORT OF
Mythic Quest
Black Sails
The Third Day
The Lazarus Project
The Newsreader
The Great

Hi,
You know what, I don't think I've seen people discussing Mycroft's admission that the Holmes children had their abilities tested.
Who were these people and what was their aim?
How did they find out about the Holmes children? And what were they testing, exactly? Intelligence? Intuition?
And in a way it almost implies that their powers of deduction are not so much skills perfected over a lifetime, but an innate ability they were born with.
It makes me wonder if Mark Gatiss/Stephen Moffat intended it as just as a little bit of fun to get fans, a little teasing hint that the Holmes are psychic. For a time they were at the heart of Doctor Who, and Gatiss has a passion for ghost stories and such, so it seems like something they would enjoy thinking about.
And, having seen the Jeremy Brett series, it would also a be small nod to that. In the later episodes of Brett's run the writing sometimes became a little odd, with talks of "third eyes" and visions of the future. Not unlike Eurus, maybe?
Do you have any thoughts on this?
Thanks
This is an interesting question, and I definitely have opinions. (This gets long 😅) I have to start by saying though, that I cannot for the life of me find the actual quote where Mycroft says that about all of them having their abilities tested as children. I would have liked to see the exact wording and context of the line, but I’ll still do my best.
Being a parent, specifically of a special needs son, Mycroft saying that doesn’t really make me blink. Evaluations of children are done all the time, for lots of reasons. It could be due to a learning disability, behavior problems, emotional issues, etc. But it’s easy to imagine their children also being evaluated simply for being very obviously advanced. The full scope of an evaluation includes general intelligence and cognitive ability, but also would include a psychological evaluation. It’s super easy to imagine the Holmes kids having that done, either because their parents requested it or because the school system recommended it. So in a way I’d say that was an incredibly realistic thing for Mycroft to say. And I’m guessing that was right before he said that Eurus was found to be a genius, beyond Newton. Which, again, makes the whole thing make sense.
So all of that is the reasoning for me saying, I definitely don’t think that statement was indicating anything in the realm of supernatural abilities in the Holmes kids. But in addition to me feeling pretty strongly that Mofftiss wasn’t hinting at anything like that, for me personally, I would just hate for that to be canon.
I love me some superheroes and characters who have superhuman abilities and stuff. That has its place and it’s fun! But imo there’s so much of that. Which is what makes the “normal” humans who have amazing abilities more special. Batman, for instance. One of the biggest reasons I love Batman is that he has no physical special abilities! No super strength or speed or mind control or whatever. Yes he has loads of money lol, but he’s smart. So he uses his intelligence and resources and drive to work for him. If anyone ever made a version of Batman where he is superhuman in some way, I’d hate that. (Which is exactly why I hated the live action remake of Mulan. They took a regular young woman who did something incredibly brave and self sacrificing and very easily could have been killed, and turned her into someone who went to war with special powers?? Thanks for killing the most meaningful part of the story lol.)
Sherlock, Mycroft, and Eurus are incredibly unique and special. And I do agree with you that partly that is something they were born with. Genetics are wild lol. But to me, what’s truly special about them is that they’re not superhuman. They took gifts they were born with and as they grew they fine tuned them into something that most people could barely comprehend. It’s almost unbelievable… but not quite. They’re still only human and it’s still just the amazing human mind at work. And I absolutely love that. 👌☺️

Jan 4 - Day #5 - A Fortnight of Books
Most thrilling, unputdownable book of 2023?
Tumblr media
Sherlock Holmes: The Voice of Treason by Cavan Scott & George Mann
I was at first uncertain whether to count this as a book, as it truly is a long audio drama with lots of Watson narration in between. But Goodreads counts it as a book, it is standard novel length, and I have occasionally counted dramatized books in the past for my challenges. So I am going to include it. This was a fun work, faithful to the original characterizations and time period, though not the kind of mystery Conan Doyle would be likely to write (which is not a must, as far as I am concerned. I was amused that the plot centred around Queen Victoria being kidnapped shortly before her Diamond Jubilee (ahem... sounds familiar...)
Tumblr media
But the plot ends up turning on a lot of varied things. Anarchist uprisings in London, Watson's estranged brother Henry's return, a mysterious Australian lady whose letters have all gone missing, and one of the most enjoyable takes on Moriarty I've ever seen. I will say, the plot contrivance of the Prince of Wales ordering Holmes and Moriarty to work together strained suspension of disbelief terribly, and the novel had to cruise on the reader's good will that it was fun to see. I didn't end up minding terribly because Moriarty's scenes, especially with Watson, were very enjoyable (and thank you for giving Moriarty his Irish-isms!) Now, this was NOT a well-structured mystery. It broke a thousand rules. I usually give works inspired by the Holmes canon a pass on this sort of thing, because Doyle doesn't write fair mysteries either, at least by the standards of the Golden Age. I know this is an anachronistic standard to hold them to, but I get on best if I just act like "Sherlock Holmes" is a particular setting and type of adventure story, rather than detective fiction. On this level, the story succeeds, and certainly kept me listening. There were a couple of things I really didn't like - some scattered language, and the author failed to stick the death of an important character in a meaningful or emotional resonant way. But on the whole it was fun and set me off on one of my Sherlock Holmes kicks.
Book that was most outside your comfort zone/new genre exploration?
Tumblr media
Le Road Trip: A Traveler's Journal of Love and France by Vivian Swift
I don't read much travel literature as a rule, but I was intrigued by this one. It's a short memoir/art journal of the author and her husband's slow trip through France, interspersed with memories of her experiences there in her twenties. What I liked best about this book is the love of savouring places it communicated - Swift models well how travel should include love for the little things rather than only the spectacular. Her sketch-paintings are evocative too. However, there was nothing that really stayed with me from this memoir, and there was a bit of language midway through that was completely unnecessary. I'd love to experience some really well-written, thoughtful travel literature.

20 questions for fic writers
thanks @organchordsandlightning for tagging me!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
85, 1 HFTH and 84 TMA
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
314,915
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I've got a lot of wips for a variety of fandoms that haven't yet seen the light of day. TMA most prominently of course, HFTH (and a few wips in the back burner), Murderbot Diaries, Star Trek, Sherlock Holmes, Tell No Tales podcast, and Mistholme Museum
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Lucky Stars
Mysterious Love
Here to Forever
Terror in the Archives
My Arms Around You
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do, although not nearly as regularly as I used to. It can take me months to respond, but I always will!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This Is Our Last Goodbye - Jon leaves Martin in the tunnels without saying goodbye
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Okay, actually, the one I think has the happiest ending hasn't been posted yet (upcoming for jmart week 2024), but this one is in the same vein of healing and recovery and finding happiness after an unimaginable tragedy - I Have So Much of You In My Heart
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Every once in a while, though it's so rare
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, yes, but not often. It's definitely very vanilla, and it almost always portrays some of my own experiences with asexuality and desire
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I don't, but not because I don't like them. I just personally find it hard to write them--one of those kinds of fics that don't store well in my brain. I've read quite a few I really love, though!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I have, but it's been a long time now since that happened, and I don't know of any of my recent fics being stolen
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I haven't, I don't think
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! I co-wrote all the time with my best friend when we were growing up, and it was a great experience
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Genuinely, I don't know. The ship that's seemed to move into my brain forever is JonMartin, and I do desperately love them, but there are plenty of other ships I truly love but don't engage with in a fandom sense
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a couple that I just lost the ideas for (my memory is like a sieve anymore, thanks brain fog), and I may not finish them because I'll be unable either recall where I wanted them to go or find endings that feel meaningful/in line with what I've already written
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm great with dialogue and with passing on emotions to readers, and I think I'm pretty funny and good with metaphors and descriptions
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I really struggle with writing action and with pacing out stories in a way that lets all of the characters grow along with the narrative
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I have no issue with it, but I'm not sure it's something I've done? Partly because I'm only fluent in English and my smattering of German and French wouldn't be very helpful with that lol
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Encyclopedia Brown, actually, and I'm sure my mom still has the stories somewhere
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
So, caveat--this is the fic I'm most proud of having finished and shared, making it my favorite for very personal reasons. I started i am loving myself out of the dark as both a response to @probsnothawkeye's coffee shop AU series and as a way to process some of my own trauma, and in the year since I finished it, I've actually used pieces of it as touchstones on my healing journey
On that very light note lol, here's a handful of tags, if you'd like to do it: @therealandian, @cirrus-grey, @ollieofthebeholder, and anyone else who'd like to share about their fics!

rules: list eight shows for your followers to get to know you better.
tagged by @alethiometry!! thank u bestie <333
tagging: @wolfhalls, @godsopenwound, @derelictship, @avgustea, @besukhov, @wolveswithoutteeth <3
(lets see if i HAVE 8 shows)
elementary. SHOW OF ALL TIME. it is truly the only sherlock holmes adaptation i've watched from the last 20 (30? 40??) years that feels like a modern adaptation and not a self-parody (miss sherlock excluded — i've yet to watch!). i never got the hate towards nyc being the setting except i guess america bad?? but it makes total sense imo and it breathes light into one of the most adapted books ever. jlm's sherlock is SO treasured to me, lucy liu's watson is just as dimensional as sherlock, girlboss moriarty, BEES, also the focus on recovery throughout the series gave it so much heart, its truly such a good adaptation. i know fundamentally its just some procedural crime show (and its biggest flaw is obviously the inclusion of ny-pd, s03 e08 you mean nothing to me) but i love her and i rewatch the first season pretty much every year. literally where would i be without her
the x files. mulder and scully have had an IRREVERSABLE impact on my fashion sense. i am watching every single episode with a notepad by my side and taking detailed notes of what they're wearing. i love this show so much, every other episode is outrageously problematic even for its time, but i'm obsessed. iconic theme tune (my dads ringtone btw). scully is one of my ultimate pop culture heroes but i think i'm more like mulder (my hero for being irritating). i think my favourite episode is wet wired. i've never seen anything past season 7.
the sopranos. WAIT! wait before u (understandably) judge me i promise its more than a dudebro mafioso show, i think the characters are all some of the best written characters i've ever encountered, and idk i don't watch a lot of similar shows but i don't get the impression that its about justifying the mafia lifestyle, quite the opposite. also the introspection that you see develop is phenomenal. what really floors me about the show is that the female characters are ALL so incredibly written, carmella soprano i love u 💍 i'm actually only half-way through this show so maybe the inclusion to this list is premature but i trust my judgement
succession. this show is constantly rotating in my mind like a slow roast. i'm also quite convinced that 90% of the fans are watching an entirely different show. is tom my favourite character YES but i hope shiv leaves him and he gets nothing in the divorce and he has to move back to iowa or wherever. he's the worst. marcia i love you
it's always sunny in philadelphia. embarrassing how many times i've seen seasons 2-10 but my brother and i's lexicon are primarily references from this show. i think my favourite episode is the cereal defense, it's so stupid.
1899. netflix i am gonna get you bitch 🔪 daniel crawling out of the atlantic ocean changed me
ummmm. i don't have 8 shows. can i leave this as a placeholder for yellowjackets because i see potential my loves <3 if not um. earth's greatest spectacles, the 3 part documentary series narrated by domhnall gleeson that changed my world. i think about it all the time. i love u new england i love u svalbard i love u okavango.
how to get away with murder.
Tumblr media
this show has done so much psychological damage, charlotte and i watched it together and i've not been the same since. i don't even know where to start; why is your penis on that dead girls phone. season 1 part 1 being the best few episodes of television ever and immediately going downhill after. annalise keating will send anyone to jail. bonnie killing a 22 year old because why not. whatever the hapstall case was. michaela pratt's villain era (ilu). laurel's flop era. connor's haircut. michaelasher breakup on some random crossover episode in favour of a character who gets about 2 minutes screentime. guy murdered at the gay wedding. michaela growling at someone in a grocery store. connor being the ONLY person to get arrested for murder(conspiracy?) out of the k5, while arguably being the person most removed from committing actual murder (flop king). gay divorce. frank incest reveal based entirely on the ''foreshadowing'' of some throwaway season 1 line. franklaurel girlies found dead. whatever the fuck was going on in the series finale. i'm not the same

I finished watched Psych all the way through for the first time this weekend, and I have Thoughts. Conflicting ones, at that.
On the one hand, it seems to want to be a quasi-Sherlock Holmes adaptation, but takes out all the things I love about the character. He's not exceptionally clever, just ridiculously observant of details, so you don't get the aha! of Holmes laying out his reasoning for Watson. He's hella straight to the point he almost reminds you of a Seth Rogen character. No neurodivergent/autistic/etc. coding. He really is just an overly dramatic, white man who likes to chase skirts, ride his motorcycle, needs to grow up, and who takes on mysteries because they entertain him in some way.
As a Holmes retelling, it should be thoroughly uninteresting if not outright insulting. But on the other hand, the odd subcultures and situations the show lands the characters in are genuinely fun to live in for 43 minutes. It does a really good job of showing how (say) comic super-fans or historical reenactors or the like are all really human in the same basic way. It's refreshing. And the show so embraces the cringe, that's refreshing in itself. So I really enjoyed it! Not as a Holmes-y character, or even a mystery/detective story, but for its other elements. It's fun, especially if you spread it out and don't binge it. (It was never meant to be watched that way.)
And on the other other hand.... look, if you want a Holmes and Watson type pair that are truly platonic friends, whose friendships stay central to each others' lives even as they develop (semi-)serious romances, this is how you do it. They're both constantly chasing after any nearby skirt for most of the show, but their friendship stays strong, not romantic but certainly something their longer-term romances (when they develop them) have to make space for. If you're going to have Holmes and Watson be heterosexual -- as in, not asexual, actually looking for their one true lady-love -- and still be the closest of friends, the show's ending is probably the best I've ever seen that done.
(To be clear: I'm sure some people ship Shawn and Gus. I'd like to read the fanfic, I can see it being a lot of fun; I just don't personally get even a whiff of that from the show itself.)
Which is odd, because the big romance really had no specific chemistry for me; it really did seem as much based on a man and woman in prolonged proximity to each other as anything else; yet I cared about the way it had to be balanced against Shawn and Gus's relationship to find it interesting. (It didn't hurt that the show did some interesting things with Juliet as well.)
So: lots to find interesting and fun, but equally kind of offputting if you're looking at it all through Holmesian goggles. Which left me more than a bit off-kilter throughout it all, and even past the ending. What an odd experience.

top 5 911 episodes 👀
NINA I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ANSWER THIS FOR LEGIT HOURS!!!!!!
there's SO many good episodes you know this alsksjdhduwua, these are NOT in order bc this was hard enough😭😅
1. the searchers (s3 ep3) - i don't need to explain why this is one of my favourite episodes, this was such an easy pick for the list. the whole tsunami arc really cemented this show as my favourite show, i was on edge the entire 3 episodes, the acting in it is sublime, and do NOT get me started on that last scene bc i will not stop!!!!! (if you know, you know, and i know you know nina!😏) this episode is the moment i realised i was going over the cliff with buddie and i couldn't stop it, even if i wanted to!
2. 911, what's your grievance? (s4ep4) - okay it was between this, buck begins and eddie begins. as much as i love the begins episodes, i chose this because of one scene; bucks "love me anyway" scene. i think about that scene at least twice a day, and every single time i watch it, it makes me tear up. we also get the adorable buddie being sherlock and watson scene!
3. survivors (s4ep14) - yeah i absolutely do not need any reasoning as to why this episode is here. the shooting, the will reveal, because, evan!!!!!!
4. may day (s5ep16) - seeing eddie being a firefighter again, and seeing him truly smile again for the first time was too much to handle, i was so emotional! not to mention sassy eddie (to josh), buddie rescuing the electrician together (you should take this act on the road!!!!), how they fell in sync seamlessly like they'd never stop working together and bobby saving may (he's my dad!!!😭) the episode had me so emotional and the twist I didn't see coming! (the death, not the jonah stuff cos we been knew that!)
5. hero complex (s5ep17) - this episode was absolutely anxiety inducing, i've never been so happy with how many adverts american tv has!! this episode really showcased hen and chims friendship, which truly is one of the best tv friendships ever, possibly one of the most evil things ive seen on tv (jonah, hen & chim scene), and on top of all that, we got to see sassy eddie again, & we saw him confront & reconcile with his dad! also shout out to domestic buddie (buck just chilling in the room for no reason while eddie packs, supporting him and giving him advice while playing with the dinosaur toy jfc they're really trying to kill us!)
i hope this list was worth the wait, it probably wasn't it's just me screaming about buddie, although honestly, this is why you follow me, not for concisely thought out questions or posts, just for me screaming into the void😅😅

For the ask game - 👑, 🍀, 🎭, ✈️ and 📖
Look forward to your answers bae!
thanks for the question bae ^^ hope you enjoy my incessant rambling
👑 - favorite Disney princess
oh man oh jeez we start with the difficult questions how could you do this to me /lh
hmm. hmmm. as a kid i loved belle because she read books and so did i and i thought I was special, but i like her less as an adult. maybe because of that godawful live action remake.
i also liked Pocahontas until i grew up and that movie started filling me with primal rage over Disney trying to get 6 year old me into a damn colonizer
also as a kid, i loved Mulan because she kicked ass and i showed signs of terminal fruitiness at an early age. and you know what she may be my favorite Disney princess! i love it when princesses are buff and defend an entire country and have a himbo bisexual boyfriend and use she/they pronouns. go Mulan, i love Mulan.
☘️ - are you superstitious?
not really, I don't think so, or at least not in the traditional sense of the word. like i won't avoid walking behind ladders and i am not fearful of the number 13 or black cats and all those stereotypical superstitious things. i am very skeptical of the paranormal as well (thanks shane madej from buzzfeed unsolved fame), and i grew out of the Catholic faith, but i do believe i am still superstitious in some ways.
like, say what you will about the horoscope, but sometimes it gets things eerily accurate. same goes for tarot cards. i guess you could say i am a believer, but a reluctant one lmao
🎭 - favorite play
that's a very very difficult question because not only am i the Ultimate Pretentious English Major, i am also a theater kid, which means i am a pedantic nerd times two. however, if i had to narrow my many favorite plays to one? the best play I've ever read or seen on a stage? the one I wish everyone had heard about? i know just the one.
The House of Bernarda Alba (1936), by Federico García Lorca. if i could i would make everyone in the world forcefully study Lorca because he truly was a genius and if he had been with us for thirty years more he would've done SO much.
in Bernarda Alba, an old, resented and domineering matriarch becomes a widow for the second time in her life and, as Spanish Southern tradition demands, shuts herself and her five grown daughters inside her house in mourning. soon envy and jealousy grow between the sisters partly because of a man, partly because of existent issues that were never addressed but now have to be, and those tensions and bottled-up emotions eventually become fatal. it's heartbreaking, it's raw, it's absolutely superb and i WISH people outside of Spain would just study more Lorca because he truly had an exceptional understanding of the female psyche, of life in a rural and oppressive setting, of tradition and forbidden love and sin and of a very very profound sadness. i love him, and his plays, and his poetry was the very first poetry that actually touched my soul. all hail Lorca and all hail his masterpiece (which coincidentally is the very last play he completed before his murder)
✈️ - where do you want to travel
to be honest i haven't traveled nearly as much as I would like to, so the bucket list is a very long one! one of the main places i would love to visit would be Ireland again, because i went there back in eighth grade and i fell in love with it: people who are sweet and patient to a fault with tourists, good music, folk tradition that runs deep, endless green. such a beautiful country, i wish I had fully experienced it instead of being a socially anxious 14 year old
i am currently going through a United Kingdom phase as well: Cornwall (gee thanks poldark BBC), Bath (jane austen making me delusional since 1813), London (sherlock sherlock sherlock sherlo-), Wales (arthurian myth yadda yadda i need therapy), and the entirety of Scotland (i watched outlander and all i liked was the scenery)
apart from that, i really would like to get out of Europe, which i never have. maybe the us (for like a day so i could go to broadway i would not tolerate Americans any more than that /j) and also Canada (ngngngngn snow gnhsnshs pwetty). OH and Asia and Africa and all those places my textbooks were determined to make me forget about but i will NEVER i physically need to visit what was once Mesopotamia or i might combust
📖 - favorite book
ooOOoooO boy. you DID NOT just ask a pretentious English major what her favorite book is. OooOoOO *bouncy balls around her bedroom*
okay so let's narrow it down to a genre. romance, of course. what makes us human is to love and grieve and what is there more full of love and grief than romance books, right. i also enjoy fantasy and horror and well, any genre in general, but romance specifically. (not sci-fi, though. i don't know why but i don't vibe with sci-fi with the notable exception of doctor who)
let's get a time period. god, it has to be romanticism. for me, literature and art PEAKED at romanticism: people being so-emotional-and-for-what, unnecessary drama, nostalgia, appreciation of the nature around us, the dark and supernatural. together with romance, you get epic and doomed and tragic love stories that never end well. what else could you possibly want? UGH it's so EXTRA i LOVE IT
uh oh. romance and romanticism? (though VERY late romanticism mind you). i know where this is heading.
is it wuthering heights.
is my favorite book actually wuthering heights.
oh no I think it is. does this count as a diagnosis.
i mean... the desolate landscape... the forbidden relationship that was doomed from before the start... the emotionally unavailable Byronic hero... the passionate and wild heroine... the tragedy that you can see coming but you don't want to believe... emotions bare and raw and real and screaming at the top of your lungs... "you said i killed you – haunt me then"... GOD IT IS MY FAVORITE BOOK ISN'T IT
honorary mentions: To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee for being the first book to make me *really* cry and think; The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte for having a decent and healthy relationship as opposed to whatever the fuck the author's sisters were into; A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson for single-handedly surpassing any crime book i have ever read; and Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, because honestly, that woman deserved the world
here you have bae if you have read everything i command you for your patience lmao hope you have got to know me a lil better ^^
p.s. here is a poem by Lorca for the gay agenda it is his most famous one and it makes me feel Things

Haven't You?
Genre: Tears of Themis, romance, fluff
Word count: 972
Pairing(s): Luke/Rosa
"Hey, Luke, have you ever thought of getting married?"
Luke coughed, nearly choking on a tapioca pearl from his Boba tea and spinning around to look at the girl behind him. He and Rosa had met for lunch in the business district to enjoy what might be the last truly warm day before autumn descended on the city.
"Wha-?" Thoughts raced through his head, but he couldn't stop coughing long enough to voice them. Rosa had a thoughtful expression on her face as she observed an older couple in their forties, a bespectacled man with salt and pepper hair, and a lively, talkative, brunette with gray at her temples. The man had a beatific smile on his face as he listened to the woman chatter, and she was tucked up close against his side as they walked together along the promenade. Their blissful happiness was an aura around them, making them almost glow in the shadows of the tall skyscrapers.
"Uh, m-married? Me?" Luke stuttered, finally gaining a measure of control over himself. Rosa was deep enough in thought that she had hardly noticed his alarm. He was simultaneously glad, and a little disappointed, because he could feel the tips of his ears reddening. "I mean... um, have you?"
He asked the question mostly as a diversion tactic, to give himself time to figure out what to say.
Rosa turned to him to answer and he thought the smile she gave him just then was the most stunning he'd ever seen.
"Of course I've thought about getting married, you silly goober! To you!"
Everything went still around him, as though the world ceased to exist completely, except for him and her and his flaming cheeks and racing heartbeat.
"What?! To me?!" His voice sounded loud in his own ears and he heard it crack at the end from surprise.
Rosa laughed and smacked his shoulder playfully.
"Yes! We've known each other our whole lives, Luke! Haven't YOU thought about it?"
He had. Almost every day for the past six years. It had struck him like lightning, not long after he had turned 18. Up until then, he had known he loved her. That hadn't changed since they were nine. But while he had spent every day during his training thinking of her, waiting to get back to her, the idea of marriage was something far off, not yet something that needed to be pondered. And then on a rare day of leave, he had encountered an outdoor wedding at the public gardens where he was practicing his photography. It was a small affair, maybe only 30 people in all.  The couple were at the altar, gazing into each other's eyes and holding hands as the officiant said her speech. But the bride, with her brown hair done up in an elegant bun and in a white knee-length dress that bared her delicate shoulders had looked so much like the girl of his dreams that he'd nearly broken his neck taking a second look. For a split second - one that seemed to last forever - it was her. And the tall man across from her, in his white suit and tie, was him. They were going going be together forever, not just as best friends, but as husband and wife.
A whole lifetime of possibilities flashed through his mind. Peaceful hours on the couch, his head in her lap, her hands threading through his hair as he read Sherlock Holmes novels aloud. Her smiling proudly at him as she reached the end of a long hike and took in the spectacular view. Her leaping into his arms in celebration after passing the entrance exam for law school.
He decided then and there that when he got back, he would ask her.
"Uh, Earth to Luke? Did you hear me?"
He blinked as Rosa leaned over to peer into his face. Not wanting her to see the truth in his eyes, he turned away.
"Yeah, yeah. Of course! I mean. Yeah!"
He knew he was blabbering, but he couldn't stop himself. Thankfully, Rosa was happy to continue talking. But she was also making him even more flustered, because she was pursuing the line of questioning relentlessly.
"Really? So what do you think then? I think being married to me wouldn't be so terrible. I'm an OK cook, but I could learn more, and I could be your alarm clock, since I know I wake up earlier than you. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry so much about keeping the house tidy, since I actually like doing that. You would have to kill all the bugs though. And fold all the laundry."
Luke couldn't help but laugh at Rosa's disdainful expression, and seeing the opportunity to steer the conversation away from such an embarrassing topic, took his chance.
"I don't know why you're so bad at it," he said.
She rolled her eyes at him.
"That's why they invented the clothes steamer, isn't it?"
"Yeah, but if you folded your clothes like I showed you, you wouldn't need to steam them!"
She shrugged, conceding the point.
"Well, you'll just have to do it for both of us then."
Luke felt the blush creeping up his neck again and cast about for another way to derail the topic.
"Uh, should we head back to your office? Lunch will be over soon."
Rosa checked her watch.
"We still have a little time, so we can take the scenic route. Walking will help with our digestion."
Luke was only too happy to help her gather her things and set off. He walked beside her, chatting about an interesting antique globe that had arrived in his shop recently.
Glancing up at her best and oldest friend and seeing the fading blush in his cheeks, Rosa hid a knowing smile.

Sherlock couldn’t believe he had been without Y/N for almost seven years. When she said she would be back in his side of the country for a little while, he couldn’t believe that he had actually invited her to his home.
Most people said he loved her. He didn’t mind. It was true, but not in the sense that they thought. He wasn’t sure he could ever love someone that way. Y/N was a wonderful woman, but more like his sister than his... anything else to the extent of his knowledge (it was vast enough, but it wasn’t perfect). He couldn’t see it. Couldn’t imagine it.
He just hadn’t softened up enough to know if he could. His relationship with her was like a gingersnap. He was rock hard at first, jaw-breaking -- her words, not his. It would be too difficult to get to know him on the first day, she had also said. She persisted and persisted, stayed by his side... until one day, she didn’t. He didn’t know exactly what hurt her, but it was more than enough to keep her away.
Y/N had said many things in his defence over the time they were friends. Sherlock just wasn’t approachable to most people. Like a rainstorm. Or a muddy flowerbed. Sherlock often felt like a gardener, himself, tending to her and making her strive in return. He wished the rumours would stop, yes, but he wanted to see his former best friend a better person as well as the same one he cherished.
He knew that was a bit much to ask for.
She was friendly and truly a beautiful person on the inside, making him ask himself why no one has told her that to her face when it was so obvious. He could read it off of the way her hands sat around her hips or the way her fingers twitched when someone needed help. Or the simple look he got when he said something rude; he could learn so much from her: so much kindness, so much warmth, so much love. She was a good person; he had been graced by her presence since the first day. Hadn’t anyone told her? Why hadn’t anyone? Why he hadn’t yet told her?
He bit his lip. Maybe William Sherlock Scott Holmes was the problem.
Maybe he didn’t tell her enough how much he appreciated her. Maybe that was why she acted the way she did around the others, why she only bloomed every so often, or at strange times; like the morning glory.
He was the moon, and she was a morning glory.
His heart dropped into his feet, leaving... some kind of empty nostalgia in its former place.
Y/N sauntered in with two cups of coffee. She set one down at his desk. “You really need to stop calling me before six,” she groaned. “I can barely move at this time of day and you never remember other people need sleep—”
He held up a finger. “Shh,” he says. “Sit down. I’m almost done composing myself, darling.”
“You better finish up,” she warned. She had dressed nicely, given the scent of perfume and the new hairdo through his peripheral vision.  “I didn’t travel across Britain for nothing. You know, I was in Scotland for seven years. You’re absolutely insane, Sherlock. Remind me to never contact you the night before ever again.” She rubs her face and her eyes. It really was early, wasn’t it?
“Is there something wrong with that?” he asked, already knowing the answer. He takes the coffee she brought and, without thinking, takes a drink out of it. He made a face. “You know I don’t—”
“Yes, I know you hate that blend,” she says, “but it’s the only thing that will keep you somewhat clear-headed and not so... jumpy.”
“That’s not very nice, to deprive me of my caffeine,” he notes, “but thank you, anyway.” He set the coffee down. Then, without considering the consequences, he announced, “I’ve been thinking, recently. Since you said you were going to say hello.”
“Yeah?” she asked, smiling some as she sat down. Y/N rain a hand through her hair, sighing. The sofa where she sat was untidy, with papers covering the surface as well as unknown-to-normal-people stains. Two different ceramic mugs, each of different colour, sat there, too. He wondered silently how she could even sit. John or Mrs Hudson would have said something about cleaning up the mess. “What?”
“Why you’re so kind to everyone. Including me,” he continued. She glares at him but doesn’t argue. He almost backpedals. “Over the years, I mean. Not recently. We haven’t even spoken, recently.”
“Go on,” she tells him slowly. He sits, taking a deep breath.
“Maybe no one has told you how warm and beautiful you are. So I thought I would tell you what has been obvious to me from the start.” He gave her a wary, almost sad smile. She blinked in surprise, her lips contorting like she had bit into a lemon. She shakes her head. What was coming from his mouth? This wasn’t what he had originally thought. In fact, it seemed to be far from the truth. Not in the sense that he had spoken a lie, but in the sense that he hadn’t told her the full truth, yet.
“I’m not beautiful, Sherlock,” she scoffed. “You really have lost your mind.”
“Or rather, I’ve lost my common sense,” he joked. Y/N didn’t seem to appreciate it. “And your answer is exactly why I wanted to tell you.”
Y/N almost protested—he could see it in her eyes—but she just nods and sighs. “Fine. Okay. Whatever you want, you bat. You don’t understand the complications with you saying that, do you, Sherly?”
How was it possible to not tell someone you care about that you would die for them? How had he never done it? He was a mentalist detective, for crying out loud!
“I know that I never told you that I...” He pressed his lips together, his voice reducing in volume. “I love you, Y/N.”
“You can’t,” she said sadly.
“I do. I was in a slump for two years, irrational for three, and I was numb entirely for four. Without you, my life has been but a mess.” He gave no smile, no eye contact, no tears. He couldn’t cry even if he wanted to right now. His hands felt quaky and his chest was hot.
“Sherlock,” she tries. “Sherlock, that’s ridiculous.”
“Maybe I’m ridiculous,” he countered. His mouth and his lips were moving much faster than his head, now, which was rarer than the feelings he was currently experiencing. “It’s the only logical explanation, no matter the chemical imbalances in my brain! Y/N, I love you!”
She huffed out a sigh, mumbling to herself, “Now he tells me. Now he tells me!” She was distraught. She didn’t say anything else. She held herself and rocked in her seat. “Sherlock, I was coming back because.. well... I’m getting married.”
Sherlock couldn’t move.
“I wanted you to be my man of honour.”
He managed a nod. He had seen the ring, now in retrospect. The manicure. Something had been wrong.
No one was quicker in terms of the mind than Sherlock Holmes.
“And we’re going to stay in Scotland.” Y/N cleared her throat and twisted the engagement ring.
He nodded again. At least she was happy.
No one was slower in terms of the heart than he.
He told her way too late.

what have I created?
idk if yall like this, but they just exist not i guess :/
ok the the first one is Royalty AU
first things first, when I say Royalty AU, I don't mean the classic shit we've all become accustomed to. Im talking about the good old Chinese royalty! And I want to emphasize that these guys will/should be dressed in century appropriate attire. As someone thats read a handful of 'marinette, princess of china' fics from the ML Fandom, I've noticed a common trend. Marinette wouldn't be in the culturally appropriate clothes, always ballgowns. Not that there's something wrong with it, its just most of if not all these fic are set in China, so I'd expect Chinese royalty to dress as THERE dress code calls for. And since this AU takes place far in the past like, it won't make sense for any of the characters to be in royal clothing that wasn't from there region. I'm not trying to white knight/gatekeeping. Im Guyanese not Chinese. But since JTTW and Monkie Kid take place in China, it's only right. In my opinion that it. You don't have to outright agree with me.
With out of the way, it's time for that good old AU crack
- Wukong is the king of the Flower Fruit kingdom(or a different one if you'd like, again I'm only familiar with what western culture has taught me, but I'll try my hardest)
- he’s single but rumor has it he used to/still is dating the Vigilante/thief The Six Eared Macaque
- *chants ShadowPeach violently*
- no one know whether it true or not
- On of his wanders around the kingdom he finds an abandoned baby in a basket.
- and no shit sherlock it's fucking baby Xiaotian
- I think we all know where this is going because i'm a simp for Monkey Dad & Monkie Son shenanigans
- Xiaotian becomes prince
Shit, ill be referring to Xiaotian as Mk from now on, I mentioned this before in a fic I wrote for lmk that Mk's a nickname for Xiaotian for some reason- wait i don't have to explain my self to you people!
- Sun loves his son
- MK is treated differently by staff and others because he's not blood related to the king
- no one mistreats MK per say, because there King loved his adopted son, but words are said behind his back
- Sometimes MK hears what’s said, and he feels as if he won't live up to his dad’s legacy.
- He meets Mei during a festival
- Mei is from a noble family, that wouldn't mind if they got a connection into the royal family.
- but it becomes hella clear to Mei’s family very fast that the two are just friends, and will always will be. but hey there daughter is bffs with the prince so that's a plus.
_
- the Demon Bull Family is rules a kingdom as well, I dont/am not creative enough to think of a name I leave that to you.
- It's a common misconception that DBK is a tyrant, when he’s not.
- most of the time...
- they have been at war with the Monkey King for some time now and settled for a peace agreement.
- that agreement being there sons to marry
- oooo original i know
- MK and Red Son are roughly the same age, Mk being 20 and RS 22
- RS is revolted/disgusted at the idea of being wed to the Monkey Kings child, even more so when he realizes MK is adopted,
- but, that all changes the second he meets MK while he meets him by accident when he gets kinda lost in the palace when he and his parents go to discuss the arrangements.
- the second he looks at MK, he's instantly in love. MK less so, he's nervous and honestly kinda bummed he's not marrying someone he loves but it's for the good of his ppl, and he'll do anything for them.
- RS isn't even aware that MK is Suns adopted son until MK walks him back to the meeting room.
"Oh There you are MK! I was about to have a servant go fetch you!" Sun Wukong says, gesturing for his boy to come sit with him.
"S-sorry for keeping you waiting I got caught up in my lessons with Mr. Tang" MK responds, sitting next to his father. Red Son looked gobsmacked. The beautiful young man he had bumped into, was the prince of this land? Damn, life truly blessed him. Or cursed him depending on how you looked at it.
- the two are left alone in a separate room for a while.
- And MK straight up tells RS why he's agreeing to this union.
"Look Red Son. I've dreamed about meeting my one true love for a while. And I would give almost anything for that dram to be real. But I wouldn't ever dare give up my people, for as there price they mean more to me. I'm doing this for them, no other reason" MK says, his back straight and hands folded neatly in his lap. The look in his eyes was a mix of sadness, but that was drowned out by loyalty and determination. It just made Red Son fall for him even harder. Clearing his throat Red spoke.
"I understand, for im doing this for the betterment of my people to. But I propose a wager"
"A wager?"
"Yes, if i can make you fall in love with me by years end, before our marriage, we can live together like in the fairy tales from far away. But if I fail, in a years time afterwards you will be permitted to find your own path in life" Red Son stated. MK took a moment to process what was happening.
"So, if you succeed in making me fall in love with you, before our marriage we can live happily ever after?" Red Son nodded in response, letting the younger continue.
"And if I shouldn't fall for you, in a years time after our union, im free to leave?" Red Son nodded once more.
"So, what do you say?"
...
"Deal"
In the end, your free to choose their fate, should Red Son win the hart of Mk? Will he fail? Or will he let him go, and let him travel the country, after all Mk's a free spirit and keeping him trapped in a big house is like keeping a cannery trapped in a cage only for its song, only for it to dul. Or will the unthinkable happen and will both boys find their freedom? together or appart? I don't know, because that's all up to you 😉
personally, I’m partial to where MK and Red Son both find freedom together. Like they straight up run away together to somewhere far away and just live out there lives together.
this could also be genderbent thing as well. MK or Red as their respective counterparts. Again it doesn't have to be, but it’s whatever bro. im just spitting out the idea.
Also, there is a main side plot that they fight the WBS throughout the year as well, along with other shenanigans you wanna throw in.
____
The second is a My Hero Academia/BNH/MHA AU
truth be told i'm not a big fan of MHA i think it to over hyped(this is also coming from the same person that’s a Fairy Tail fan lol), and the fandom i don't even know how to describe that mess, but I will admit not the whole of its toxic since every fandom has some toxic members, some even more so.
I just sometimes find myself enjoying MHA AUs like the Fullmetal Alchemist, Danny Phantom, Evil!Deuk AU and several others.
to make it clear I don't see this AU taking place the same time as the main plot of the actual Anime/Manga. This could be either like 6-10 years before or after the plot idk bro. But i’ll do this after the main story plot of MHA, so keep that in mind ya? another thing, the gang is still in China, the top hero school in the world just so happens to be in Japan, and it’s only ever mentioned by Sun wukong and other pro heros. So MK never attended AU. in short it’s only ever mention/ reference.
_
- Mk was considered Quirkless as a kid.
- he was just a late blumer, i swear
- Mai’s Quirk is called Dragon.
- it pretty much works the same way as it does in the show(duh)
- Tang’s got a knowledge Quirk,
- my man can retain information and he’s basically an archive of information drawback being his personality lol
- Piggsy is a Animal that gained a Quirk
- in cannon to my current knowledge, there are two other characters that can confirm animals can become sentient. the characters being Fumikage Tokoyami, & Nezu the principal at the school UA.
- Sandy is just Conner Kent, aka he like superman but can't fly, or shoot lasers from his eyes. And blue.
I have two scenarios for Macaque and Wukong
*- The first one is that, Sun Wukong & Macaque are brothers. twins to be exact.
- they where legit people, but have mutation quirks that made them too like monkeys.
- the added powers were just a boues.
- Sun and Mac are close growing up, like there brothers but also best friends.
- the draw back to there quirks could honestly be whatever you want bro idk, same with the others tbh. Personally I like to think Sun just has lack of motivation, and Macaque needs to draw on other people's energy.
- Sun is a hero, Monkey KIng and Mac is a villain Six Eared.
- Sun was always treated has the golden child in the family, Mac always resented that, but there shitty up bring didn’t stop the two from being good brothers to one another.
- soon tho the resentment became hatred when Sun was able to attend UA in Japan, while Mac didn't.
- Mac be angy
- so he became a villain, and joined the Chinese branch of the LOV(league of villains)
- Sun doesn't know this till he finds out during the all out war during the main story. and by that time he’s a full on hero with is own agency(The Flower Fruit agency)
- when the hero's ultimately win and Mac is arrested
- This ultimately hurts Sun a lot, his brother was in jail now, arrested for his involvement and wrong doings, he knew nothing about this! this brother, his blood. A bad guy? why? he hadn't seen his brother since he left for UA, he hadn’t seen him when he came home, and started his agency.
- this just puts Sun into a funk so he’s not as active as he used to be, and he starts thinking he might need a successor
*- The second one is that they were two separate people that had similar quirks and both attended UA but Sun ended up in the hero corse. so 1A.
- Both Macaque and Sun have similar quirks, Sun’s is obviously more light based while Macaque’s is more shadow based(this applies to the first one as well)
- Macaque was placed in class 1B, U.A.’s High's Heroics Department, I believe, you can correct me.
- In cannon Class 1A and 1B both went to the training camp. I can see the teachers pinning Sun and Macaque against each other to hone their skills.
- And because of that they become great friends
- In fact when they graduate they both co-found there hero agency together in China and are a duo.
- But due to Monkey King’s popularity and Six Eared's association with shadows(people sometimes saying he has more of a villains quirk than a heros) the public see’s Macaque as Sun’s sidekick when thats far from the truth.
- now it’s up to you whether you think that Wukong and Macaque would be in a relationship together, but knowing how cooked we all are, ShadowPeach is a thing here more than likely.
- If you do or don’t support/ like the ShadowPeach aspect, the two would be living together regardless since its more cost efficient.
- They my be heroes but living costs are expensive!
- I would imagine there would have been a huge fight/argument between the two in privet of course, at there home.(or in there shared office if you want the extra angst of the other people they work with hearing them fight)
- If the two are dating, then this would either lead to an out right breakup, or Macaque just up and leaving with Wukong thinking he’ll come back once he’s cooled off. But after a week, with no sign of his partner, or him answering texts or calls, not even coming into work. Wukong gets worried that something might have happened to him. so there wouldn't be a confirmation if they were still a thing or not.
- But Wukong remains hopeful, despite the nagging at the back of his head, and gut telling him to go find Macaque, or atleast make a public statement, or even just tell another pro hero about it.
- on the not so shippy side, Macaque and Wukong still have there argument, and much like the ShadowPeach esc side, Macaque up and leaves, and isn't seen for weeks. the only difference here is that when Wukong comes home one night to there flat, most if not all of Macaques stuff is gone.
- where as if this was the ShadowPeach side, Macaque leaves all of his possession in the flat he and wukong share. for the simple reason being, he still loves him and wants to go back, but Macaque being Macaque can’t bring himself to do it, especially after seeing just how hurt Wukong looked when he yelled at him just before he left.
- in other words, ANGST DIALED UP TO A 10 BABY
- in either case, its a news report that confirms Wukong's suspicions that he desperately didn’t want to believe, and that is Macaque turning into a villain.
- much like if the two were brothers, Wukong just can’t take it and is no longer as active as he once was, and is thinking about, either A) Retirement  B) Saying, “Fuck Society, Be Gay Do Crime” and join Macaque as a villain himself, or C) find a successor, and a way to bring Macaque back to there side, but most importantly, back to him.
- also extra points if you're after people's hearts and want to make them suffer;  - If there dating, Wukong curle’s up in the bed he and Macaque shared, holding/wearing something of great value to Macaque and just crying himself to sleep, where as Macaque is getting wasted on alcohol, as he stumbles out of the bar he’s in, he either see’s something that reminds him of Wukong or while he’s trying to put his wallet back into his pocket, a photo of them on their first date fall’s out. and Macaque just cries in a nearby alley way. And it’s there where he gets indoctrinated into the League.
       - If there just friends, macaque heads to the nearest forest and just levels it, where as Wukong just gets engrossed into his work, trying not to think about it. you could add you own spin on this, again i'm just spitballing.
- NOW BACK TO MK! :D
- Obviously MK is a huge Monkey King fan
- at Twenty MK has come to terms he's quirkless (HE’S NOT)
-for ANGST reasons MKs fokes kicked him out at this realization at 13.
- he works at Piggsy's Noodle shop, and has been since he was 14.
- don't need a quirk to drive or cook!
- the boy lives a content life with his new family, till DBK happens :D
- DBK runs a Mafia(in conjunction with TLOV) and has been in jail for like 5 years thanks to Monkey King, PIF and RS brake him out one night when MK's out making a late night delivery since Piggsy had the bright idea to go 24/7 service!
- one thing leads to another and Mk somehow manifest what looks like the Monkey King's staff, but its not, it’s MKs powers, it just so happens to be the same power the Monkey King has. And it practically goes down the same way in the pilot.
- but unlike the pilot Mk and Mei go straight to the FF Agency, after making a panicked call to Pigsy and Tang.
- one way or another Mk are lead into Wukongs office. Mei being forced to stay in the lobby.
- they have there convo, butterfly monkey squishing included.
- "And so, I want you do be my success-" BOOM 💥
- from there they rush downstairs and see that the lobby has been infiltrated by the DB fam, and you know fight.
- once the DB family seems like there down, PIF wisks them away. Much to Monkey King’s displeasure.
From there stuff kind plays out like cannon, the calabash ep is just a conjoint quirk the Demon bros have. As for EP9, ill have to script that one out myself lol. I'll get onto it as soon as my will to commit stabs me in the face. Till then have a dancing Kermit the frog.
Now if you'll excuse me, am about to Kermit a felony :D
(For legal reasons thats a joke)
Psst @writingamongther0ses its done

Tumblr media
THIS IS SUCH A LOVELY ASK
When did you get into it?
WELL!! To answer the first question we must go back To the Beginning.
Around March or so of 2013, I met my best friend, my sister from another mister, my platonic soulmate, my other half. She was a fan of Supernatural and a few months into our friendship, I decided to watch it with her (not WITH HER cause she lives across the country, but)
First impressions?
I had seen plenty of screenshots of tumblr posts about it on Pinterest, so I had a vague idea going in.
Tumblr media
It was in ^ this moment ^ a switch flipped in my head. My brain was like "HIM!! THAT'S THE ONE!!" like someone picking out a puppy from a litter. Little did I know, 7 years later, he'd still be my favorite character of all time.
Also, funny thing, because I was texting my best friend the entirety of the first 3 episodes, I actually hadn't paid much attention. I somehow thought because Sam was taller that he was older, which is really dumb considering MY OWN BROTHERS are the opposite, the youngest being taller than the oldest. How naive.
I remember thinking Dean was cute but Sam in screenshots from season 8 (the current season at the time) I'd seen was cuter. I hadn't seen Dean in season 8 apparently, cause I changed my mind later actually watching the show lmao
When did you Know it was a big fave for you?
Oh man. I don't even remember, it became my favorite so quickly. I was big into Doctor Who and Sherlock at the time and then I started watching and it just far surpassed those in every way for me
How many times have you seen it?
Oh geez. I know I've seen it all the way through to season 9/10 ish at least twice. Individual eps, I have no idea. I can tell you for certain my most rewatched is season 9 episode 7, Bad Boys. Following that would be I've definitely be season 8 episode 11, LARP and the Real Girl, and season 11 episode 4, Baby. I've seen practically every episode (I'm not caught up. I'm not emotionally prepared. Of all the years to watch my favorite show end, This Is Not The Year. I'm not strong enough lmao) at least twice because I always rewatch it with my brother and/or my mom at some point.
What's your favorite thing about it!!!
My favorite thing, the thing that compels me the most, the thing that keeps me coming back time and time again, is Dean.
I don't know where to even begin explaining it, but he's the most compelling character I've ever encountered in any and all media. He's just so deep and complicated in a way I've never seen before. Like, his opinion of John alone over the years is more complex than most relationships I've seen on tv, and that's just one aspect of his character. I could write a whole essay on Dean Winchester as a character tbh, but I don't have the mental capacity right now and this is getting long enough as it is lmao.
Why the heck do you love it!!!!!
People make fun of Supernatural all the time and yeah, it isn't perfect, but the characters. They really hit it out of the park with the characters, both intentionally and unintentionally. Like, Cas for example, was not supposed to be a series regular. The angels were just supposed to be one arc and then go away forever, but fans loved him so much they kept him, and he's now an integral part of the main cast and half of the NUMBER ONE pairing on AO3.
This little show about family and found family has created something truly special and inimitable.
Again, I could write a whole essay, but I can't, so I shan't.

Protective vs Possesive {Mycroft Holmes x Reader} [Part 2/?]
A/N: Sorry that it has taken me so long to get done, but I’ve finally gotten inspiration with the help of @kye06. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I was a bit iffy with it until the end, which I really love. Let me know what you think and if this should be the end or if more parts should be added!

•—•
Sherlock was sat in Bart's hospital sitting room, his hands interlaced and his chin resting upon them as he waited and waited. Each second that past felt like hours, each minute felt like days. The ticking of the clock at the corner of the room was slowly driving the man crazy.
It had only been a month and a half since you've moved into Baker Street with Sherlock and John. Every day seemed to be weighing down on you more and more. There was no more waking up to morning kisses that, Mycroft so loved to greet you with, or the smell of freshly brewed coffee. No more late-night cuddles and silent reading as you laid in his arms, smiling.
With every memory came the ghost of his touch, and with that came the guilt. You should've cherished those moments you had with him, to thank Mycroft for always ensuring your safety. Now, you couldn't even do that. The simple thought of him made you want to cry.
Yet, you were unable to think about anybody at the moment. Not while you lied, unconscious in a hospital bed while doctors and nurses tried to determine what was wrong before finally, they did.
However, Sherlock was still waiting, and he was still slowly going insane with impatience. He let only a second pass him before he cams his older brother, his blue eyes shut as he listened to the ringing of the phone.
On the other side of London, in an office, sat Mycroft Holmes, a government official who was just scribbling down a note on a piece of paper. The moon was shining in through the window, having just crept past a cloud that obscured some of its light. The auburn-haired man let out a little grunt into the glass of scotch he had just raised to his lips. A phone call was the last thing he wanted to deal with at the moment.
Nonetheless, he grabbed the device, seeing if he recognized the number before feeling a sudden sense of shock and worry as he saw his brother's name. In a quick motion, Mycroft had placed down the scotch glass while throwing on his coat as he brought the phone up to his ear.
"Sherlock?" he said through the phone, moving around his desk to gather some things. If it wasn't an emergency then at least he'd be packed and have an excuse to head home.
Sherlock let out a small sigh as he heard his brother's voice, a sound he wasn't sure that relieved him or annoyed him. "Mycroft, come down to Bart's, Y/N's in the hospital," he stated, getting straight to the point and not wanting to waste time.
Mycroft was surprised for a moment, not because Y/N was in hospital but because he was being informed that she was. "Why am I being told this? And why am I being asked to visit her?" Mycroft asked, his tone airy and yet, somehow it sounded almost cold.
"Because this was your wife Mycroft! Because the person you once loved is now lying unconscious in a hospital room, and even I don't know what's wrong! That's why Mycroft, because if Y/N had even cracked a bit of that facade you've created, then you'd care enough to see her. God forbid she took her last breath in an hour and you weren't here to say goodbye or sorry, wouldn't you want to see her one last time?!"
Mycroft was shocked by his brother's outburst. He'd been yelled at plenty of times before by Sherlock, however, never for such a severe reason. A moment passed before he said, "I'll be there in ten minutes," and hung up the phone.
True to his word, Mycroft arrived at the hospital ten minutes later, walking towards the waiting room where Sherlock no longer sat. The government official walked up to the front desk, asking what room you were in.
"294," the nurse said before Mycroft said a quick thank you and made his way down the hall, his umbrella gripped tightly in his hand. He held it at the center, his leather shoes loud against the tiled floor.
He reached the room after a bit of walking, peaking through the window to spot his brother sitting at a chair beside the bed. Mycroft didn't bother looking around to see you, knocking on the door and waiting for someone to answer it. When the door was answered, Mycroft's blue eyes caught the ones of his brother who simply nodded and let him pass.
"Is she alright?" Mycroft asked, taking a step into the room and looking over at you. He placed the umbrella off to the side of the room and took a seat once he was finished.
He hadn't seen you properly since the ordeal that took place months ago. His heart ached at the sight of your s/c skin being much paler than what it usually is. Your body was a bit skinnier than he remembered and for a moment he feared the worst.
"Has she been eating properly?" Mycroft asked his brother who remained by the door.
Sherlock shook his head slightly. "She seems to be skipping breakfast every morning," he starts. "However, thankfully she eats her other meals."
Mycroft nodded, taking you over once more. "Did the doctors tell you what was wrong?" he inquired, his eyes never leaving your body.
Sherlock made a small hum. He knew that this should be something told to his brother, as well as yourself, by a doctor, but he knew it'd eat his brother alive if he didn't tell him. "She's pregnant Mycroft," he paused for a moment, expecting to see a reaction from Mycroft. When he didn't he continued, "they said she had fainted due to stress. They suspect she doesn't know she's with child yet."
All Mycroft could give in response was a weak nod before he asked his brother to leave for a moment. Sherlock obeyed Mycroft's wishes, taking a step out and moving back towards the waiting room before leaving altogether. He knew it was best to leave them both for some time.
Mycroft had leaned back against his seat, his mind seeming to bark questions at him, some that he didn't know the answers to. He looked back at you for a moment, taking in your h/c hair and familiar features. His hand was trembling as he brought it up to brush the strands of hair that cling to your face behind your ear.
Mycroft felt guilty at that moment. Guilty for leaving you when he could have been taking care of you, holding you close and protecting you. He was angry at himself that this entire situation was caused simply because he wanted to keep you safe, and yet, of course, he was the one harming you. It was always like that.
He'd never felt such a strong urge to hold you in his life. To whisper to you softly, letting you know that he couldn't wait to be a father and that you'd make an amazing mother. Yet, you were no longer his. He'd asked for the divorce.
The sudden feeling of warm, soft skin brushing against his arm caused his blue eyes to snap up towards you, his hand moving to clutch at your instinctively. "Y/N," he breathed out softly.
You felt emotional seeing Mycroft beside you, but you did not cry. All you did was smile back before facing the heart rate monitor. "Mycroft, what's wrong? W-why are you here?" you asked, scared and confused.
Mycroft tried his best to give you a reassuring smile. It was clearly forced and strained. He was about to answer you when a doctor entered the room, both heads turning to look at them.
"Ah, Mrs. Holmes-" you'd both tensed at that, but you couldn't blame the doctor. The divorce had yet to be finalized. "I'm glad to see you're awake. We've run some tests and nothing looks to be too worrisome. As a matter of fact, the cause of your fainting, although partially due to stress, is caused by pregnancy symptoms. Congratulations," the doctor explained.
Your eyes widened as you looked at Mycroft, fear written all over your face. How would this work now that you weren't with Mycroft?
Mycroft caught onto the fear quickly and gently ran a thumb over your knuckles, trying to assure you it'd be alright. Once the doctor left the room, Mycroft turned to look into your e/c eyes.
"Mycroft, wh-what are we going to do?" you asked, your hands trembling just as much as his are.
He took in a sharp breath for a moment, looking at you. "Y/N, I-I'd happily call off the divorce if you're willing to do the same. I... I'm not sure if I've truly ever wanted it. Ever since I've said it all I've felt was misery," he stated, his voice shaky. Mycroft's never had to say something like this. He's rarely ever let his emotions be spoken so freely.
You'd brought your hand up to his cheek when a single tear slipped from his eye. It wasn't a tear full of sadness, it was one of anger and guilt... and of the loneliness he tried so hard to get rid of only to welcome it back with open arms. Now, all he wanted to do was take you into his arms.
"I'd want nothing more than that, My," you whispered, and hearing the nickname- the one that used to bring him so much warmth -nearly caused Mycroft to cry more. He didn't, instead, moving to sit on the edge of your bed before taking you into his arms and adjusting himself so that he wouldn't hurt you.
He buried his face into the crook of your neck, the warmth of your body against his cool skin causing him to feel safe and at home. "I've missed you," he whispered, placing a kiss against your shoulder.
"I've missed you too My," you whispered back, carefully running your fingers through his hair. "You'll make a great father," and just the thought of it caused you to smile because you knew it'd be true.
Mycroft lifted his head a bit to look into your eyes, a soft smile on his face. "And you'll be the best mother anyone could ever have, my dear," he replied, leaning down to give you a sweet, but passionate kiss against your lips. He'd only broken apart to murmur a soft, 'I love you,' before kissing you again.

Hey SA I've just seen you reblogged a post about goodbyes in the show and I so would like to know your opnion on this. Do you think the cane scene was in character for John? Tbh I think his character was very OOC in S4 but I'd like to know your opinion on this. Yours are the only fanfic I read post-s4 I really trust you with my heart. Thank you!
Okay, just as a disclaimer, because I really, really don’t want anyone to think the opposite here, I absolutely love John Watson. Please don’t be confused about that. That said, he’s got some massive issues.
Unfortunately, I do see the cane scene as in character, but I’m also one of those annoying people that would say that there’s a huge range of what could be considered “in character” for every human, you know? I’m just as much myself when I’m being a total dick as when I’m being the best version of myself. One end of the spectrum is not truer than the other. John is just as much John when he’s doing that soft, gentle, tender gaze, like at Sherlock and Mrs Hudson in ASIB as he is when he’s physically hurting Sherlock. Unfortunately, they chose to draw out the ugliest aspects of John’s personality in series 4, showcasing his damage far more than his heroism and the beautiful soul that he also is underneath those trust issues and unspent, ultimately inward-pointing anger and guilt and sense of inadequacy. Walking out when things get difficult is very much consistent with his behaviour from series 1 forward: look at his little domestic with Sherlock in TGG: Sherlock is being insulting and difficult, and instead of trying to talk through it or ask deeper questions, or even just argue it out, John gets up and leaves.
I would say that it’s canon that he also left Mary after she shot Sherlock. I don’t see how anyone could possibly have maintained “months of silence” while occupying the same space. It just isn’t possible. For a few weeks, maybe, but months of genuine silence? No way. John wasn’t there. To his credit, and this is a big thing, John doesn’t stay mad. His capacity to handle things blowing up in his face is rather limited, but give him time and he’ll go back and give it another go. It took him 24 hours after Sherlock returned. Even when he thought the bearded old man was Sherlock playing a prank, he was laughing in spite of himself and clearly, overtly disappointed when it turned out not to be Sherlock. So he went back. The fact that it took him six months to return to Mary says a lot in terms of how reluctant he was to do it. I hate that he did it, but I get that the weight of his sworn word and the impending arrival of his child were the sole driving factors there, rather than love for Mary herself. His extreme reluctance and over promise of continuing anger during that scene hardly made for a cozy little reunion scene (I once saw an interview where Gatiss referred to it as “so tender and moving” or some crap like that, but that’s a rage post for another day!). The point is, given time to sort himself out, John goes back. He goes back to therapy even when he thinks it isn’t working. For all that Mrs Hudson had to bully him into it (he wasn’t ready and that wasn’t right!), John did finally agree to see and treat Sherlock. He would have gone back. That’s as much in his character as his preponderance for leaving is.
Furthermore, while it’s ugly that he leaves, I also find it entirely understandable. This is someone who has a history of familial issues, estranged from everyone except a sister, with whom he shares a barely-tolerated relationship. He was in an active war zone: say no more. His superior officer, on whom he clearly had at least a bit of a hero complex for (and I personally don’t see anything else there, but that’s also plenty!), let him down and shut him out. Life had already betrayed John over and over and over again by the point that he met Sherlock. And Sherlock, for all of his intellectual brilliance, had never allowed himself to have a relationship so close that he might actually want to consider the other person’s feelings. He was clumsy and a slow learner and I think it took him a long time to see that John’s feelings needed better care than he was equipped to understand or give at the time. Their shared sense of inappropriate humour always had that edge to it, and while John is mentally healthy, I think he loves it (and I think that that’s why, when Sherlock faltered in the restaurant upon seeing John again and hastily revised his ill-conceived plan, that he turned to the one thing he thought he could rely on, this shared humour) but when he’s having one of his bad times, it cuts sharply. I think that he understands the genuine affection behind it, and when Sherlock said everything he said in his wedding speech, I think he was honestly shocked to hear it expressed so directly. He does know how much Sherlock thinks of him, how much he relies on him, and that any light jokes to the contrary are genuinely jokes. With Mary, on the other hand, they weren’t actually jokes and he knew it. They’ve always had communication problems, ones that lead to living out what they want from each other in the worst ways possible, but the love behind it is a real thing. Their actions only hurt each other so badly because of that very yearning there, one that neither of them seems able to express, or willing to take the risk to express. It’s a truly damaged relationship and they’ve both been damaged by it. As someone who absolutely believes in their love, and in the capacity for them to love hugely, deeply, and without reserve, it hurts to say that. Nevertheless, I do believe that with all of my being.
I’ve joked that my new “kink” since series 4 is getting them both some therapy. I’ve written more therapy in stories since Christmas than ever before! Since series 4 started airing, I’ve written These Four Walls & Exile (after TST), Where My Demons Hide (John goes back to Ella), Now That the Dust Has Settled (We Can See the Stars), and A Satellite Out of Orbit (told from Ella’s POV in which she sees Sherlock during TLD), (after TLD), and then after TFP: A Case for Domestic Propinquity, Hell Hath No Fury (John goes back to Ella), From the Bottom of the Well (John goes back to Ella), Bridging the Ravine & Set in Stone (which take place at a resort for same-sex couples needing group and one-on-one relationship counselling). I think they need help. I also think that one of them could finally come to his senses and realise one day that they need to talk, and talk properly. I take back what I said about my biggest canon frustration being the way John leaves Sherlock: it’s definitely Moftiss never having once allowed them to have a direct, honest, and complete conversation. (Sometimes direct, sometimes honest, but never complete!) I think that they could get there on their own. It’s possible. It just hasn’t happened yet.
That said, remember this: in opera we always say that the opera never takes place on the day that nothing happened. Remember all of those other days we aren’t shown: we can safely assume that alllll of those other days, and these are the majority by far, they lived together, cooking and taking out the trash and taking turns in the bathroom (that model of house would rarely have had a third bathroom on the third storey; that’s where the servants would have lived and they’d have used an outdoor privy at the time when this model of house was built, and the other bathroom would be in Mrs Hudson’s suite). They’d have taken cases and gone for midnight dinners at the Chinese restaurant on the corner and laughed at all of the wrong times and provoked speculation from anyone and everyone who ever saw them together. They’d have complained about their respective siblings and been a little nicer to each other every time one or the other was having a bad day. Think of Sherlock buying John beer after things with Sarah ended, according to John’s blog. Think of John, on his honeymoon, yet unable to just stop communicating regularly with Sherlock. They’re a damaged team, but nonetheless a team. Think of Sherlock knowing John so well that he could even predict that John would choose to leave him again, and how. They know each other in ways that no one else ever will, and I stand by that.
I hope that helps? :)

Thanks so much for constantly treating John with respect and love! Lately I've seen a lot of fics, art and snippets showing John Watson in the worse light. I just know that s4 John is not the John we know so thank you for sharing your stories and the John Watson that made me fall in love with Sherlock.
Hey, thanks for this! I’ve definitely been called a John hater before, so this is nice to hear. Here’s the thing I don’t think people always realise: it’s totally possible to simultaneously love a character and also take issue with their actions. I absolutely love John Watson. He also really needs a serious sitting down on his ass after that last series, and for me personally, also the one before. It finally got to the right place when he said “that’s where they sit, the people who come in here with their stories. That’s all you are now... and we decide if we want you or not” (very loose paraphrase!). And then he went back to Mary. He went grudgingly and unhappily, but he went. He cheated, or almost cheated, but he was nonetheless there, with Mary, when he belonged at Baker Street. And he resented it. John’s been a mixed bag of emotional turmoil, repression, and things not ever properly dealt with since we first met him, but that just got played to a really ugly extent in series 4. That inherent resentment of being with Mary when he wanted to be with Sherlock led to some really bizarre shifts of blame and association. Blaming Sherlock for the actions of two other people was weird. Was John really so unable to accept the concept that Mary’s criminal background, so very lightly glossed over in series 4 by the writers, was going to have inevitable consequences for all of them? Why was it so much easier for him to blame Sherlock instead, unless there were a host of other issues to do with Sherlock there in the first place: unresolved anger regarding the falsified suicide, insufficient explanations to help him understand why Sherlock did what he did and the benefit pertaining directly to John within that, what I see as clear-cut emotional and sexual repression, outright denial, and a general inability to deal with strong emotions of any kind, even anger? Those weird anger-smiles he does, rather than just letting himself be properly angry - we like them, but it has to be acknowledged that they’re repressive.
John has done some pretty inexcusable things. I’m saying that in isolation of what any other character has done. It holds regardless of anyone else’s actions. That said, I don’t think that John is an inherently horrible human being. He really, really needs to make some serious apologies, whether or not Sherlock seems to want them from him, but he does owe them nonetheless. People are not only their worst behaviour, though. Our best selves are as true - maybe even truer - than our worst selves. I do truly believe that the worst of John’s behaviour was an aberration and not reflective of his true self. I see him as a man who is loyal, courageous, funny, thoughtful, kind. He’s also conflicted and not very self-aware, and frankly crap at dealing with anything emotional. I love him, flaws and all, and I’m very pleased that you don’t think of me as a John hater based on the way I write him! I’m just trying to do justice to the many-layered person that he is. Some of those layers are more beautiful than some of the others, and that’s part of what makes him such an interesting character, at least in my opinion! :)
