Been thinking about Senju and how all she really wanted was a family

No parents

Sanzu started disliking her from a young age because of Takeomi’s favoritism

After the Plane Incident, her and the trio officially fell off. It seemed she was mostly just “Sanzu’s kid sister” and with his growing disdain and her new self loathing because of what happened, the gap between them continued to grow

Despite playing favorites, Takeomi constantly belittled and infantilized her. Seeing her as more of a prop than a person worthy of respect

She joins up with Wakasa and Benkei who welcomed her into their gym. They respect and are supportive of her. After 3D they drop her like a hot rock and join Kanto Manji without a word

She establishes and becomes the leader of Brahman. The members admire her. It’s implied she isn’t personally close with many of them though, but still, it’s a community that supports her. Until she’s forced to disband it to save a life.

For a large part of her life, Senju has been yearning to be accepted and embraced by others.

When she meets Takemichi, she’s already heard a lot about him. She is curious, but hesitant. “Forcing” him to hangout with her by calling him her new “gopher.” But Takemichi also enjoys their time together. He respects her but does not only see her as Brahman’s boss, laughing and teasing her when she looks silly. Then at the amusement park, she lets down her guard and asks if they can be actual friends. Takemichi is the first friend her age she’s had in a very long time. This is why when Mikey is beating him to death, she sacrifices Brahman, a community of her own, just for him.

Then Toman 2nd Gen forms and they want her in it. Again, she’s cautious. Every group of friends or sense of community she’s strived for has wasted away into dust. Her family, the Mikey-Baji-Sanzu-Senju quartet as kids, Waka and Benkei’s gym, and now Brahman. She is drowning in guilt because of the Plane Incident™️, but it also must be terrifying to be offered another community when so many she’s been in has fallen. And it wouldn’t surprise me if she places the blame for every single one on herself. “I’m just a failure.”

But Takemichi, her first friend, tells her that she is not the only one to fail. He doesn’t waste time trying to convince her whether she’s truly at fault or not because that is a hurtle most people have to overcome themselves. He instead assures her she is not the only person to fail, but what’s most important is to keep going and fix your mistakes.

And Senju listens. Partly because it is Takemichi saying it, and because of her own desires. She wants that sense of community again, she wants to reconnect with Sanzu, she wants to help Mikey if she can. It is scary to be faced with things you’ve lost, but in that moment, Senju realizes there is nothing worse than not facing them at all.

I just caught up with tokyo rev s2ep8 and damn.. I knew this show was gay asf but I did not expect they would actually go for it. Manga readers, how come you've spoiled me the ending so many times but never that kiss scene?

On a side note, it's hilarious to see people dropping the show because of it. Have they ever really looked at Koko's design with their own eyes and expected... what else? I'm hysterical ಥ▽ಥ

Like, tokyo rev character design for male cast is so deliciously fresh, creative and just fun 😌👌 They do be inventing new flavours on menhood spectrum fr fr.
