Hiiii thereee! Okay so I know you're a big Furilumi fan, so I was wondering if you could help me collect all the info and events that imply it, and their general dynamic and stuff??? Anything about their relationship in all canon or semi-canon content. I'm working on the Traveler x Genshin chars list again, and I'm honestly undecided on how to interpret Furina's feelings for the traveler, so I thought you could help :>>>

Hellooo~ and gosh I'm flattered that you think so.

I will say that while I am a fan; I'm not as die-hard as others maybe. I'm very much a characters-before-the-ship kinda gal when it comes to Furilumi (also in general with other characters).

Like if you were to put a gun to my head and ask me what is my top Travelver X Character ship "canon wise", Furilumi wouldn't even be top five. (also I am adult enough to admit that I'm very much wanting to fuck Furina a Furina x Reader shipper more than anything)

But even with all that, I think they are cute together together and they have an interesting dynamic that can be explored.

I'm wasn't quite sure how you wanted the information or how much you wanted. I'm just gonna go through certain moments from quests Furina & Lumine have been in together so far. And just talk about them.

Also if I forget a scene or something please forgive me!

When Lumine first meets Furina at the very start of the Fontaine Archon quest, she isn't being herself.

As we all know, Furina was acting as the role of Hydro Archon. So calling it a proper meeting isn't accurate, since I tend to believe we don't meet the real Furina until much late. This isn't just in reference to her identify, but also her true personality.

Also it was just basically Furina going "We are rivals now!" and Lumine being like "....sure I guess?".

But I thought it important to high light it since it does establishes their early dynamic.

Furina knows about what The Travelver has done and sees her as an answer to her problems;

She has been chasing the one trial to end all trials; the one case that is so spectacular that is will save Fontaine from the impending floods. And what better opposition than the famous Outlander?

And she says at much at Lyney's trial:

Although there is perhaps a bit of fear at what the The Travelver could do, Furina is sure that their face off will soon happen. And that the odds will be in her favour (even though she kinda doesn't know what she is doing lol), with her being determined to save Fontaine.

It is always hard to truly know what the Travelver themselves is thinking. But I would guess Lumine also views Furina as a means to an end. It is the reason she is traveling Teyvat finding her brother.

This shows that while they both are different, they are very willing to do what they can to obtain their goal. Whether that means playing a role for 500 years, or travelling all over the whole continent, they will searching through any scarp of information to find the answers.

While Furina does lose and is, from Paimon's own words: "...like a deflated balloon now." I think Furina is more sad that it wasn't "The Trial" more than anything. Especially since she is "...unable to contain her joy at seeing you and Paimon enter.", when coming to protect her while meeting with the Arlecchino. Showing that she doesn't have any ill will towards Lumine.

Granted this could be because Furina is utterly terrified of The Knave as well trusting in Neuvillette very much. But still that rivalry is put on hold. But from this little tea party Lumine starts feeling distrusting of Furina, thinking she is hiding something. And from the events of Poisson, this just grows.

While Lumine is willing to go through the plan with others to trap Furina, this is very much a last resort;

Lumine doesn't want to be feuding with Furina; this rivalry that Furina has thrusted upon them is something she doesn't want. And while Lumine is reluctant to do this, she knows there is no choice. The Travelver doesn't think Furina is a bad person. But they need answers, and as such it seems that they are both destined to be on oppositions at court.

But Lumine still tries one last time to get through to Furina.

This part of the Fontaine Archon quest is one of my favourites; this is where Furina's thoughts and feeling finally start to poke out.

It happens because Furina's greatest fear is coming true, but still. Pretty good.

Lumine is very much on to the act that Furina plays. She knows that is she isn't godly or uncaring as she may give off. Lumine tries to show to Furina that it is okay to let go:

If Furina had been quicker and had told her the truth, Lumine very much would have stopped the plan. But from what we know, Furina would have never told. She was dedicated to the very end.

Skipping to after the Hydro Archons trial and the crisis being averted. We don't get anything until Furina's story quest.

Story quests are in general kinda a mixed bag. They are can be great in show casing the playable characters, well character. As well as expanding on the world as a whole. But sometimes they just focus on the second part a bit too hard and the character suffers from.

Now looking back at Furina's quest, it probably wasn't as bad as I thought originally. Well at least looking through just the lines by themselves is fine (Paimon is still...well I have thoughts on how they utilise Paimon's character when it comes to story. They use her as comic relief/to lighten it up when it is not needed...But that's a convo for another day).

There are at least some good bits to take from.

The first being that the reason Furina even helps the Troupe in the first place is because the Travelver drags them (literally and figuratively) into the plot. By the way of hand-holding no less.

After the ordeal that Furina has been through she is actually quite reluctant to be out and about. Furina strikes me as someone who is introverted, this very well could because she has had no real personal relationships.

On topic of personal relationships, Lumine is properly the only person who knows about what Furina truly felt during her 500 years of acting. This is cause of Furina unconsciously trama-dumped on Lumine, but still. Having someone who has seen the many sides to you, can be nice. Furina can be candid with Lumine, not needed to put on a performance. But I'm sure Furina also feels it is kinda awkward. Because 'Oh archons this person knows all about me', it crates an unexpected power imbalance, which can make for an interesting dynamic with the Travelver.

Another good moment is when they are back in Poisson;

If there is one ideal out of the seven that The Travelver embodies most, it is freedom. Freedom is very important to Lumine and I think it's very telling when she tells Furina that freedom is her reward. She is saying to her that it's It's over, and that she is free to begin a new chapter of her life.

So I think it's no coincidence after this quest Furina ends up being a director in "Roses and Muskets". She breaks out of her shell a bit and once again comes along on the Travelver's behest. Granted there aren't that many scenes/moments with them since this was very Chevreuse forward event. This is also similar in the Lantern Rite, but we did get a cute diagonal where Lumine says "I have keenly felt the passage of time since our last meeting." so that was cute.

Unfortunately since Furina has only been out for 7 months we'll have to wait for more. Hopeful in 4.6 (if it follows the same patterns) we will get her second story quest, and that it's a little bit better.

But there are voice-over and teapot stuff! (Had to get these from the wiki since I don't have Furina fully unlocked. yeah yeah know)

These are pretty self explanatory. Just Furina wanting to spend time with the Travelver and taking about the next chapter of her life having Lumine in it.

I thought this one has particularly cute. Furina would make macaroni for Lumine.

This one is a favourite

Lumine only needs her.

Now on to the teapot, there is a very cute scene where Furina talks about teaching Lumine to dance;

Another where Furina talks about them doing acting together and writing a script.

And that's all I can find! Like I said, I probably missed some stuff, but I think I'll call it quits here. I hope I was able to get the info you needed, but if not you can ask my specific questions if need be.

So I have a great many ideas about @jackplushie's automaton au. And they said it was okay for me to write out a post of it! I was originally gonna do one really big post but. That got too long soooo individual dorm posts with the spoilers under read mores. I also tried to keep this compliant with everything already written about the au which... is why cater is so short here because there was already a post about him.

Also tiny lore (?) thing, each 'dorm' is more so the company who produces the bots.

(Also I wrote this vaguely enough that it could work for any of the sub aus so ye)

Heartslabyul

Riddle is a newer, more experimetal bot designed as a manager for other androids. As a result he tends to be rather strict with other androids in particular.

Not with you of course! After all, yours are the rules he's committed to enforcing.

After all his original job fell through after he left his post for only a short time, and he was discarded as a result with the program deemed a failure.

He doesn't plan to make the same mistake again, so please keep him around! He'll keep the rest in line for you.

He's very good at that too, as part of his purpose he has the ability to instantly shutdown other bots. It works best on other bots from his company, but other androids know to be wary around him, unless they want to go to sleep for a while.

Trey bots are designed to cook! They can keep recipe information, have built in tools like knives and heating elements, and are great at dispensing scents and flavorings!

They're pretty popular due to how well they do their job, and yours does too! He... also does stuff other than cooking though. He can be quite a bit more liberal with those knives or heaters if someone gets too close.

But it's fine, he's just doing his best for you. There's not anything *you* have to be scared of, at least.

Cater is also a pretty popular bot, who's more of a generalist, he's pretty good at just about anything you ask him too do, be that keeping an eye on things or just hanging out with someone. Although other Caters you've seen aren't NEARLY as good at holding a conversation as yours.

He's been bugging you to get a few more of him actually, just for safety, and so he can help you more! Apparently one Cater can control multiple cater bot bodies! How convenient!

If you DO get multiple, be prepared to have at least one hanging off your arm at any given time.

Deuce was originally designed for enforcement, cracking skulls and breaking bones of anyone his master wanted him to.

Now though... he's trying to be more 'normal'. Deuce is the most obviously weird compared to the other bots, because while the others aren't super obvious about their whole conciousness thing Deuce is VERY obviously rejecting his initial programming.

He trys and acts more like a model citizen, he runs errands, escorts you where you need to go, and he... tries to help around the house.

Of course, he can't actually get rid of that old side of himself, and if anyone were to get close with the intent to harm you... well... You won't have to worry about that! He'll handle it for you! So make sure to keep him around please.

Ace bots are made to entertain, be that putting on magic shows or cracking jokes.

Yours definitely... does that. He's quite a fan of showing off card tricks or trying to make you laugh, you can barely pay attention to anyone else without him trying to make a joke to get your eyes back on him.

He always seems restless whenever you're walking around with him, wether that be making fun of the other bots as you see the ads for them or glaring at the other people when he thinks you aren't looking.

He doesn't really hate them or anything, he's just annoyed they keep dragging your attention away from him, he's made to keep everyone's attention so just don't look away okay? :)

(short spoilers for near end of chapter 5)

Deuce bots are also pretty good at taking hits, and yours is pretty good at it too, manipulating the force he takes in and then... dishing it back out... very much increased. The Last bot who tried to get to you was unrecognizable after landing just one punch on your Deuce.

i have to ask about bump-up business: are Mill and Nine actually okay at acting? because when i watched the trailer i was like ummm.....

yes and no? as a lyon its pretty easy to tell that theyre acting, but i think they did okay with what they were given. its less of "are they good at acting" and more of "is the script good"— which, no it isnt. It kinda suffers from being a low-budget manhwa adaption, so a lot of their lines aren't exactly what real people would do in real life, and I think some of the editing did them dirty (ie not cutting out moments where they are clearly getting ready to say their line). it kinda gave me student film levels of acting. they know what theyre doing but they could use some workshopping. they did get better as the show went on, though!

that being said, yoojung and kyubin did fucking amazing. yoojung especially was a stand-out for me. he wasn't in the show too much, only near the end, but comparing his acting to nine and mill... uh yeah hes definitely better than them as of now

Continuation of this? Sure thing!

Okay, so, there’s two divergent possibilities here:

1) Peni’s dad has enough sense of mind to calmly approach Miles and ask for help

2) He doesn’t, and tries to Force Miles to help

I’ll address both under the cut cuz I have a feeling this is gonna get fairly long, lol

So! Option One: the Peaceful Approach

Miles is approached by a Mysterious Figure during a patrol. This figure cannot remember his name and cannot control the dimensional holes that appear over his body and the places around him. He knows that he is not of this world and that Spider-Man can help him return to his daughter. There is no hesitation from Miles to Help.

Timeline-wise, this figure approaches Miles weeks before he would’ve encounter canon Spot in the movie. So, Miles and this Figure (nicknamed several things but mostly called Blot) work together to experiment on making a gateway for Blot to return home (added bonus that Miles will finally be able to see his friends again). However, Blot’s unstable form complicates things in big and small ways, from misplacing things he needs to grab to holes appearing during crucial steps of experimentation that make them start over again.

It also doesn’t help that Blot can’t remember his past without experiencing pain and more instability. Something that Miles quickly realizes, so he knows to keep chatter light no matter how curious he is.

Blot cannot stay in Miles’ universe without glitching, so he takes regular, very reluctant, breaks in the endless space he’d been trapped in.

It’s during one long break that Gwen appears. Helping Blot has yielded the same concerns from Miles’ parents, so he’s still brooding in his room when they reunite. She convinces him to sneak out, they catch up, and Gwen explains the Spider Society.

Miles realizes they can help Blot (another added bonus that he gets to be with his friends if he joins the Society). Before he can explain, though, Gwen has to Leave to take care of some business. Miles follows.

During this time, Blot returns to their makeshift lab to continue experiments by himself. Frazzled by his time in the empty space and no friend to distract him with lighthearted chatter, Blot becomes unstable and sets off the machine they’re working on and is caught by the resulting explosion.

Gwen and Miles see the aftermath. Gwen scrambles to fix this, and Miles once again follows.

Blot’s been hopping from universe to universe, unstable and having trouble keeping his thoughts together and rambling about needing to find his daughter and unwittingly causing chaos with his dimensional holes. He’s confronted in Pavitr’s world and Miles puts himself at odds with the other Spideys and tries once again to explain. Blot is calmed somewhat by his presence but cannot stop himself from destabilizing again even more violently, causing a disaster that the Spideys have to manage while he slips away to another universe.

Miles isn’t shown a vision of Inspector Singh and his dad dying interposed with one another. He saves the Inspector despite that and is brought to the Spider Society. The Blot does not cause a huge hole in Pavitr’s world, so there’s less evidence for Miguel to tie Miles breaking a Canon Event as Bad (he’s still gonna be an ass about it though, lol). Miles is less focused on trying to be recruited as he is trying to find Blot and help him.

Canon Events are Not explained to him, yet. Miguel lets Miles interact with the Society so he can give information on the experiments he’d been working on with Blot. He’s brought to a lab where a bunch of Spideys are already working on tracking him down and gets another meeting with Margo and oh there’s Peni, too! And oh, she’s… why does she look so tired and sad? What Happened??

Miles continues to feel Out of the Loop and gets frustrated enough to Just Ask!! Peni, who’s probably been a bit dismissive to focus on calculations and stuff, relents and takes Miles aside, maybe with Gwen and Peter B, and they break the news about Canon Events.

Yes, his Uncle was meant to die. Yes, he Shouldn’t have saved Inspector Singh because a Police Captain important to a Spidey is always supposed to Die. And Miles gets quiet and says to them “My dad just became Captain…”

Now, he has no forewarning on What event could kill his dad, but he wants to go Home and Check. The others try to calm him down. Peni gets a bit nasty and says he should just cherish the time he has with him but they have More Important Things to worry about right now and turns away to keep tracking down Blot.

They work in awkward silence for a bit before Peni sighs and apologizes for her tone. She never had a chance to save her dad. She hadn’t even Known he’d been SP//dr until after he’d died. Since joining the Society, she’s done the math, and there’s really nothing she could’ve done (right?) for him nor for Addy or her Aunt May.

But Spidey can’t just give up, Miles thinks. There Has to be a way to save his dad!! But Peni’s right, he needs to Focus.

There’s a Ping on Blot’s location and lo-and-behold… he’s in Peni’s Universe.

Miles convinces the team Miguel assembles to take him with since he’d been mostly successful in calming Blot down last time.

Peni leads the charge in her new mech. Blot’s holes are once again causing Chaos. It splits the team up a bit trying to save folks while chasing him down. Peni realizes he’s heading for Oscorp and charges ahead with Miles to cut him off.

Imagine Blot shambling towards Oscorp, tripping though his holes and gaining distance in a jagged sort of movement. “I’m home I’m HOME” he mutters to himself. “Where is she? Where Is She??”

A wall of webs doesn’t stop him. He just keeps moving. Miles call out to him, and Blot finally pauses. He turns and recognizes Miles. He doesn’t recognize the mech but something in his head Tingles with a Connection.

Spider feels it, too. The little creature alerts Peni who narrows her eyes cuz no is supposed to be connected to Spider but her and-

Miles startles when he hears the mech cockpit open. Peni stares at Blot, no recognition on her face until he Speaks.

“Daughter…”

“…Dad??”

And now her world has Flipped and Miles realizes what this could mean cuz her dad’s death is supposed to be a Canon Event so what does that mean if her world hasn’t been affected by that for the years since his supposed Death??

Miguel is Definitely Not gonna like This.

I imagine this’d be a great and excruciating place for the movie to stop and leave it on a cliffhanger, lol

Okay, and Now: the Aggressive Approach

I think this would mostly play like the movie with a few key differences:

First, where meeting canon Spot was just a coincidence, Peni’s dad would actively be on the hunt for a Spider-Man. Maybe his dimensional holes would be causing problems for the neighborhood and Miles would investigate and be confronted by this figure.

Blot (name gained this time by citizens trying to describe the holes he makes) has more combat training than Spot so he’d probably give Miles way more trouble on top of being actively aggressive. He’d gain the upper hand at some point during the confrontation and demand Miles take him to his daughter which, of course, Miles is totally confused by!!

His lack of control over his powers would eventually kick him back into the Empty Space where he’d find that his hole can finally see to dimensions other that Miles’. He doesn’t need Spider-Man’s help. He just needs the Right Equipment.

Movie plays the same again for a bit. Where Spot had been seeking Alchemax labs to gain more power for revenge, Blot uses them as a jumping point to another universe because he keeps ending up in the Wrong Ones. He gets more and more agitated. He sees Spideys as villains for getting in his way because he Just Wants to get Home and see his Daughter.

Second main difference, when Miles clashes with Blot again, the vision he sees isn’t of Inspector Singh and his dad, it’s of a man holding the hand of a young girl wearing a backpack that looks Weirdly Familiar. He tries to reason with Blot, tell him that they could help him find his kid. But Blot’s too wrapped up in his own head to accept help at this point.

He’s been on his own for Years. He doesn’t Need Help anymore. He just needs to be Home.

The Blot would very clearly make the Big Hole in Pavitr’s world and disappear again. Miles is taken to the Spider Society. The scene with Miguel plays out the same until…

Peni.

He sees her, exhausted and the light gone from her eyes, and he remembers her Backpack. He asks her about it, derailing the gravity of the situation he’s in. She has it on her, of course she does. Her Dad gave it to her.

Miles connects the dots. In front of Miguel and Gwen and Peter and Hobie and all these other Spideys, he blurts out the Truth. Eyes shift from him to Peni who is looking at him with wide and tear-filled eyes. Her voice breaks.

“He’s Alive? My dad.. he’s ALIVE??”

Miguel tries to clear the room. Things have become very Very Complicated and the Whole Society is going to know very shortly. He needs a moment to think, to talk to Peni and grill Miles about How He Knows. Peter (with Mayday) and Gwen stay, because of course they do. Jess stands by Miguel. Hobie sticks around because this is about to be a Whole Show and he’s gonna stick with his drummer and the new guy and the old dude with the anarchist baby and the kid with a punk rock soul.

Miguel’s belief in the importance of maintaining Canon Events stands, despite seeing the mirror in Peni and her dad and Gabriella and him. He repeats what he said to Miles. To him, there is no choice in this matter. Blot being alive endangers the Multiverse.

He still places the blame on Miles, the one who destroyed Fisk’s super collider, the one who didn’t stop Blot when he first made his presence known. Peni is the first to his defense. Miles has hope that he can save his dad; and now that she knows hers is still alive, she has hope that she can save him, too. Him being alive after all these years is proof enough that Miguel is Wrong.

A chase. A scramble for transportation to the right universe. Miguel needs two teams now, one to stop Miles and the other to stop Peni. The news has spread. The Spideys are split. Sides are chosen, and Miguel sees the organization he has so carefully built breaking apart.

Gwen escapes during this madness, realizing her watch has sent her to her dad and No Longer Works. She reconciles with him, gains a new watch, and gathers the Spideys she can to help in this coming conflict.

Miles realizes he’s in the Wrong Universe. Peni uses all of the resources of her universe’s Oscorp to locate her dad. And her dad? Well, he’s losing hope, sees all these universes without him or his daughter striving and happy and that’s Not Fair.

Why do they deserve what he could never have? He remembers parts of his former life, of a service that took everything from him including time with his lonely daughter. If he couldn’t have happiness, why should THEY?

There are holes in his brain, in his heart, a void that keeps growing and growing and he’s close to ready to letting it consume Everything.

while looking through all the features, my bttf blue-ray had to offer, in the hopes of finding something interesting, I stumbled across a thing called "setups and payoffs" (or something like that), which is supposed to show a little bit of text, each time that something, that will be important later shows up, or that something calls back to an earlier part of the movie.

Even though it seemed useless to someone, who has watched this movie as often as I had, I decided to turn it on.

Most things were pretty boring like: "marty will end up playing guitar at a school dance later, just not the one he auditions for", but one bit,in particular, caught my attention:

It being almost only a dark shadow and dave covering it up most of the time that we get a shot of the tv, make it hard to see, but

there is indeed a second tv.

I don't think however that when marty tells his family in 1955 that they have two tvs, he would count the broken one. So either the mcflys have a third tv somewhere or this one is not broken.

In a deleted scene of bttf 2 old marty, tells his son that, when he was young and wanted to watch two shows at the same time, he had to put two tvs next to each other.

What if this was just a thing that the mcflys do?

I don't see how watching two different things at the same time, would benefit anything, it would probably just get really annoying and maybe confusing, but apparently watching multiple channels at once is a completely normal thing in 2015, so I don't think it would be too far fetched to theorize that the mcflys did it thirty years earlier.

I totally agree with your concept of love!! Too many people rely on the feeling of love instead of choosing to love someone, and they don't realize love takes work. You know?

tee my darlin, we're on the exact same page. I've been ruminating on this for a bit, trying to figure out the best way to say this without being Annoying, but it always comes back to this: love, the kind that lasts a lifetime, is a choice.

i know i got into it a bit here, but like. if you don't expect any other emotion to last forever, why is there a belief that love will? media is beautiful in the sense that we get to have some of the most amazing adventures, but it's also so damaging in how it twists the perception of what a healthy relationship looks like, or what real standards of love are. I could whip out a dozen examples, but they all boil down to how setting an unrealistic expectation for a very impressionable audience negatively influences their idea of what love, romantic or otherwise, is--particularly the young adults that haven't experienced love yet or don't have a healthy example to look up to. love, whether you're on the receiving or giving side, is not an excuse for bad behavior, and nor is it as eternal as media claims.

in my experience, as someone happily engaged and who's been spending a lot of time talking to Older Folks about what's made their marriages last (or end), the longest love is two-sided and it takes work. anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or has found someone willing to sacrifice everything in order to keep their partner happy.

love is not sacrifice, but it requires compromise; love is not pain, but it requires the memory of happiness in order to continue. love is born from an emotion, but it continues with the conscious decision to make it so. if you're not happy, sad, angry, anxious, etc. 100% of the time, how can you expect love, as an emotion, to exist 100% of the time?

don't get me wrong, love is certainly something you feel, and if you don't feel it, you can not force it--but if you're looking for the kind of love that lasts a lifetime, you've got to be willing to make it a choice, too.

(interestingly, and for another tangent, is how so many continuations/time skips focus on how the original love interests separated after Some Time and are either (1) finding a new love story or (2) rekindling their love... almost like Hollywood is admitting they care more about telling how two people FALL in love and less about what someone has to do in order to make it last a lifetime... but I digress).
