vmx file that you allocated only 256 MB RAM to your Windows XP Guest. It is very easy to overwhelm a laptop hard drive with I/O requests from virtual Guests. My guess is that my laptop is hard locking due to high i/o from the hard drive. bios is also latest version available from hp. i have that turned on and have the bios set for performance mode. but its got enough for some graphical apps, games, videos, and vista aero interface no problem.Īlso the bios supports cpu options for vm's.
Master reboot vista 64 Bit#
its a touch screen amd dual core 64 bit with nvidia shared memory.
Master reboot vista drivers#
I'll try the latest windows update drivers for vista 圆4 and the nvidia video card. this was the last log i believe when the host rebooted over night while the xp vm was doing windows updates. I have attached the vmware log file and vmx for the xp pro system i use. and nothing in the logs telling me access is blocked now. i get no more prompts that something in vmware was blocked. i do use the symantec firewall but it has been configured to allow most activity and i have specific filters for the vmware drivers and processes. I have tried vmware with it enabled and disabled with the same results that the host ends up hanging while i do work in the vm. i believe it should be the latest available build too. I have symantec endpoint protection on my vista host. both from hp and from device manufacturer.
Master reboot vista install#
fyi, it isnt the preloaded drivers or the ones on the install cd, they are latest downloadable drivers. The latest hp drivers and firmware cause me little problems.
Master reboot vista driver#
havent tested the windows update video driver on 圆4 vista this was right after i upgraded using the windows update video card drivers. instead of blanking the background for a second and then showing the darkened transparent background behind the uac prompt, it took approx 5sec with a black screen before the uac would load. last time i updated the video card from windows update, it caused a very noticeable lag between vista's uac switch to the secure desktop. my laptop doesnt play well with updates via windows update. vmware is 6.5.1 build-126130Īll drivers are updated per hp's latest available oem drivers.
Master reboot vista upgrade#
i'd rather not go back to 32bit since i plan to do ram upgrade for this laptop and 圆4 vista has been running perfect with the exception of vmware products. Vista 32bit on the same laptop never had these problems with random reboots or hard locks. and I have tweaked it so that system wont sleep, hibernate or shutoff unless its low on battery. also i have been running it with the Current Power Plan for High Performanc. I run the vista 圆4 host with the below config options. no memory.dmp file was created unfortunetly, even though it was enabled to do so. this time i didnt hard lock vista but rebooted the laptop. and i had left it on over night to automatically do the windows updates, there were alot cus it was a farely new install with sp3 integrated already. this was after i started the xp pro guest vm, then the screen went blank, flickered a bit and came back. One time it didnt hard lock with xp pro but instead vista gave me the error that the display driver had stopped working and it had just recovered from a crash. i was watch a windows media video from cbt nuggets for an mcse exam, and again it hard locked as soon this time after i had closed the windows update site and was gonna open ie7 in the guest to manually download some updates. had to hard reboot vista (waited about 30min to see if it would come back but it didnt until i reset the laptop)Īnother time was when i was running xp pro as the guest. after click ok in the vm to begin the install it locked the system up. for windows xp pro i just copied the vm image from another system which i already had it built and running.Īt least 3 times my systems laptop has hard locked or rebooted while running vmware virtual machine.įirst lock i remember was right after i finished installing windows 2003 with sp2, i mounted the r2 iso cd over a network image using vmware. My real issue was after attempting to run install guest os's such as windows server 20. instead i opted to disable them since i use only bridge networking. did some reading and found out i could set some registry values so that Windows will identify the networks as private not public. The first problem i came across is with the windows firewall and the vmnet network cards. previously i was using vista 32bit ultimate. I am using vista 圆4 ultimate as the host system without many problems. I am using vmware workstation on my laptop, its got amd 2ghz turion 64 x2 with 3gb ram.

Summary: In which a project is completed and a new one begins
AO3 Mirror
Taglist: @dillybuggg (shoot me an ask if you want to be tagged)
Your project was almost complete.
In some ways, it sort of felt like the end of an era. To Tomura, who was a creature of habit by nature, it was doubly strange to imagine no longer spending hours a few days each week locked away in your little study room with you bugging him to teach you simple html and him not-so-discreetly sniffing your hair.
He still hadn’t asked you out or whatever he’d been trying to do, much to Dabi’s chagrin. And because of this, Tomura was consistently plagued with the feeling of time running out.
You were supposed to meet today for probably the last time seeing as the presentation was coming up at the end of the week. He knew it was now or never at this point. If he didn’t fucking say something now, he never would and then he’d have to live with the same his roommate wouldn’t let him live down.
So instead of heading directly to the library after class, Tomura took the old route back to his apartment and shot you a quick text—praying to the fucking boner gods, as Dabi called them, that you’d take the bait.
would you mind putting the finish touches on shit at my place?—
there’s some parts i gotta do from my desktop—
That wasn’t completely a lie. It was nicer working from his pc setup, but before he wouldn’t have let you come anywhere fucking near there. Not until he’d finally accepted that you’d wormed your way into his brain somehow and he couldn’t live another day not knowing what your tongue tasted like.
bitch (endearing):
—no problem
—what’s your address?
Tomura’s heart fucking pounded mercilessly against the bony prison of his ribs. It wasn’t like he was a stranger to some good old fashioned anxiety, but he’d never felt a strange stirring in his stomach quite like this. Like he might puke, but in a good way.
He quickly sent back his street and apartment number, and waited on the corner until you texted back that you’d be there in an hour before he rushed inside.
“What the hell are you doing, creep?!” Dabi snapped at him when he burst through the door and yeeted his backpack onto the kitchen table.
Tomura didn’t answer, just made a beeline for the bathroom and slammed the door. He doused himself in record time, unbothered by the hot water causing red, patchy flare ups to bloom over his skin. He was almost disgusted with himself for putting in this much effort for someone like you. Someone being definitely kind of a slut if the way you dressed was a good indicator. But he just kept thinking about the way your hair or skin smelled so goddamn good when you leaned in close and he wanted you to be obsessed with him in the same way. Wanted you to want to bury your face in his neck and breath him in.
When he stumbled out into the hall moments later, towel drying his hair roughly, Dabi was taking a shot over the sink.
He looked at Tomura like hell had frozen over.
“Two showers in like a month?” he mused, sucking his teeth as the alcohol slid down his throat. “What’s the occasion? The fucking, second coming of Christ?”
“Well the bitch is coming over so…”
“Oh, that is a fucking miracle,” Dabi whistled and knocked back a second shot.
Tomura glared, stepping into his room and tossing his towel aside to tug on his nicest pair of black joggers and t-shirt that gapped a bit at the front, showing off a large expanse of his chest. It made him a bit nervous even just looking at his reflection but you definitely stared the few times he’d taken off his hoodie while you were working, so the risk seemed worth the reward.
“Yeah, well you’re gonna have to piss off for the night,” Tomura shouted into the kitchen as Dabi sauntered over to lean against his doorframe.
“You know, I conveniently do have a dick appointment with my own bitch, but now I don’t want to go.”
His tone was teasing, eyes hooded and clearly enjoying how flustered Tomura was already before you’d even gotten here. Tomura moved to snatch another pillow and do battle but Dabi raised his hands up quickly in defeat.
“Oh no, no, I just fucking did my hair for this Keigo asshole you are not gonna ruin it with that petty shit,” he shot back and disappeared somewhere into his own room. “I’ll be out of your greasy ass hair don’t worry.”
Tomura seethed and bit back of reply of his hair for once not being greasy as hell, but the multiple cum stains—both his and his nasty fucking roommates—marring the comforter caught his eye.
“Ugh,” he mumbled and balled the whole thing up, shoving it under the bed and spreading out one of his merch blankets from that manga you both liked.
Hopefully you wouldn’t think that was too cringey, but he had definitely seen your room plastered with merch in the background of your social media profiles which he totally did not stalk at all and maybe jerk off to on occasion.
The rest of his room was quickly cleared by a combination of shoving random crap into his closet and filling up their recycling bin to the brim with empty energy drink cans. He tackled the kitchen next which wasn’t as hard as he’d expected. Neither he nor Dabi cooked all that frequently, so the dishes weren’t an issue and the vague, lingering smell of whatever the fuck Dabi had been smoking early was cleared out a bit by leaving the balcony door ajar.
He checked the time on his phone obsessively, about ready to pound on Dabi’s door and throw him out on the step when the man in question emerged on his own—black platform boots donned with his ass hugging ripped jeans and a loose tank top.
He had on fucking eyeliner.
God and he thought Tomura was being desperate.
“What? Wishing you’d locked this down first?” Dabi sneered, grabbing his jacket from the rack and shoulder checking Tomura on his way to the door.
“I—” he stammered for a second, bristling as Dabi towered over him a bit in those fucking boots. “No, asshole, just leave before they get here.”
But at the exact moment that Dabi rolled his eyes and flung open the door, Tomura’s phone buzzed in his pocket. Looking up in mingled horror and embarrassment, he watched the door hit the wall and reveal you, a little more casually dressed than usual looking stunned as Dabi grinned down at you with pierced lips.
“Hi, I’m-” you started but Tomura’s live-in nightmare cut you off.
“Oh I know who you are, dollface,” Dabi wiggled his fucking eyebrows at you, clearly playing up the dramatics as much as possible to a degree even Tomura didn’t think he could pull off. “Name’s Dabi—”
“Uh, yeah and he was just leaving,” Tomura hissed and placed his shoulder firmly in the center of his roommate’s back, launching him onto the welcome mat as you side-stepped through the door.
“Yeah, see ya later creep,” he fucking winked as the door slammed shut in his face.
Tomura’s cheeks burned in the following silence which was only broken by your quiet chuckle. He noticed you did that a lot. Laughed at things without even thinking about whether it would sound weird.
“He seems like a lot,” you mumbled and glanced around at the living room/kitchen/foyer of his tiny apartment.
“Yeah…”
He thought he might feel the same sort of disturbance he usually did when Dabi brought his dates home but you seemed to fit easily into the space, unobtrusive but bright against the dingy walls.
“So, should we get to it?” you asked with a wry smile, spinning to face him and silhouetted by the sun set filtering in past the balcony.
He may not have felt the usual discomfort of intruders in his space, but his hands shook where he clutched at his thighs nonetheless. And just like always, if you noticed the bunched up fabric and the not so slight tremor in his bony arms, you didn’t say a thing about it.
You looked so good propped up on his bed, back against the wall and legs dangling off the sides as the now strangely comforting sound of your furious typing filled his room. It had been a few hours now, and Dabi had been true to his word, seemingly gone until tomorrow morning. The room was illuminated only by your screens and his small desk lamp that lit up your legs like a stage spot light.
His mind fogged over more than once with the fantasy of laying in between them.
“I just shared the final bit of script,” you said, breaking the comfortable silence.
The notification pinged at the top of his screen and he hummed in acknowledgement, plugging in your last pieces of text and saving the program.
And just like that.
It was over.
“I think we’re done,” Tomura whispered.
He didn’t really mean to say it so softly, but it felt strange to talk at full volume so he rasped out the words, knowing you wouldn’t care how shitty his voice sounded.
There was a creak and soft footsteps behind him as you shuffled off the bed and over to his desk. Your hands rested way too close to his shoulders than necessary while you leaned over his chair to look at the finished product.
It was still a little rough around the edges but Tomura found himself feeling a swell of satisfaction now that it was complete. All things considered, you’d come up with a pretty damn good concept and he liked knowing he played a role in helping it come to fruition.
The piece you picked was weird as shit. Some political satire about eating babies, lots of juxtaposition about the private life versus the public self and some bullshit rants on the nature of humanity blah blah blah.
It actually reminded him of you a little bit, now that he thought about it as he took advantage of you position to stare intently at your eyes scanning the screen. Not the eating babies thing, but the whole private self stuff.
In the half semester he’d spent locked away with you in quiet rooms and noisy, dimly lit basements, he could see such a stark contrast between the you he’d known from class all those weeks ago and the you currently sighing in relief over his shoulder.
Softer, more real—not so Stacy, bimbo, pick me slut like he’d always imagined you to be.
“Damn, we did it my guy,” you nodded, clearly impressed with yourself and him as well, which had Tomura’s chest puffing out just a bit under the attention. “I could fucking kiss you, I thought we’d never get it done.”
You turned to him, eyes closed in a half laugh but Tomura was so far from laughing. Cause you were really, really fucking close and he could smell you again and you’d been chewing that fucking gum cause it was hot on your breath. He knew, he really did, that you were kidding, that this was just a thing people said when they were relieved but he couldn’t help the weird, deer in the headlights stare that his face froze in.
Blinking, you raised your eyebrows at him questioningly when he didn’t make some crude comment about your chest brushing against his arm or shrug you off like he might have before.
And then you got this knowing, little mischievous look that reminds him far too much of Dabi for a split second before you pressed your face just an inch closer.
His eyes flicked down instinctively to your lips and his face burned when realized there was no way you didn’t see how he looked at you. Shockingly, despite the churning in his gut and the shaking in his legs, Tomura leaned forward just a bit too, working up enough scant courage to maybe close the gap. But then you started laughing?
It bubbled up quietly in your chest, more of a giggle than anything else.
You were laughing and shaking your head and his stomach fucking dropped to the ground and his face was on fire cause you were laughing and that meant he’d been fucking played like a goddamn fiddle but—
But then you gave him this faint smile and you weren't laughing anymore, because you were kissing him.
You were fucking kissing him.
Which, while yes he had set out to have this be the end goal of the night, he hadn’t actually believed it would ever happen. He’d never felt it in his bones like he thought he was supposed to.
And holy shit your lips were so soft??
So soft and smooth with no cool, sharp metal poking or pulling at the splits on his. It was like fucking crack, or what he imagined crack might be like with the way your mouth just glided against his. It was so easy to follow you, which was good cause he didn’t have a goddamn clue what he was doing for the most part. But you made it feel simple, and you even ran your tongue over the little scar that bisected his lips in this painfully adorable way that had Tomura pitching a tent in his pants like lightning.
God and when you pulled back and just enough to look at him again:
It was like every one of those cutesy, shojo manga suddenly made sense. The panels where the main characters look at each other and flowers bloom off the fucking page while they stare with those dark, hungry eyes—
Yeah.
Yeah he got it now.
And he was gonna ride that wave while he had it. So Tomura steeled himself and surged forward, grabbing both your arms and smashing his face much less gracefully against yours. He stood and you straightened with him, that same half giggle slipping out in the gaps where your lips parted on his as he clacked your teeth together and pulled back at the jarring sting.
“Eager are we?” you had that stupid smile on your face again but he honestly didn’t care anymore if it was an act or if your face really just looked like that with no fucking ulterior motive.
“Shut up,” he muttered, trying to catch your lips again and you mercifully let him.
Tomura nearly fucking came in his pants when you licked into his mouth and oh fucking god he really could taste the gum and that loud ass shit you were always drinking. Dabi was right, this was a fucking miracle.
Did other people always taste this good or was it just you?
He responded enthusiastically to say the least, sucking your tongue into his mouth and letting out a choked little noise when you prodded the back of his teeth. The movement of your legs, pulling him back towards the bed went mostly unnoticed until he felt himself tipping forward, landing with a thump on top of you as you both tumbled onto his mattress.
Tomura’s lips wondered boldly down your throat, smelling the soap or lotion or whatever the hell made you so fucking baby smooth compared to him and he actually growled into your nape when you laughed again.
“God, what the fuck is so funny?” he sounded muffled from where he was tonguing at the fleshy joining of your neck and shoulder.
“Sorry, sorry,” you pressed your lips against the peeling crown of his head and that alone made up for the interruption, “I’m just basking in the glory of being right.”
“About?” Tomura nipped at your skin once before lifting his chin to rest on your sternum.
“I just always thought you were sorta into me, but it was hard to tell cause you’re so quiet about that kinda thing.”
“....oh,” he didn’t really have an argument for that so he didn’t try to fight you.
“Did you think I didn’t notice all the convenient excuses to touch me or like the fact that you’re mean as shit to everyone else but me?" you asked not unkindly as you stroked a hand through his hair, frizzy from being left to air dry. “I also got the vibes you thought I was a slut anyway and it wasn’t super clear if that was a turn on or not.”
He cringed a bit at the blatant way you acknowledged all ruder inner monologues about your character.
“Well, I did a bit initially,” Tomura glanced off to the side, suddenly finding the chipping paint much more fascinating. God he really wanted to get back to the good stuff. “But I don’t now…”
“Oh no,” you cupped his face, running a thumb against the cracked skin on his cheeks and didn’t cringe when the drying skin flaked onto your shirt, “that was a pretty astute assumption.”
“Uh, what?”
He felt his draw drop and you dipped your thumb past his front row of teeth, toying with the pooling saliva.
“All the better for you though,” you continued dragging his chest against yours so he could feel your nipples through his shirt, “cause that just means I know how to show you a good time, and I get the feeling you’ve never had that happen before.”
You punctuated your words with roll of your hips against the fucking iron rod in his pants. The noise that left Tomura was inhuman.
He thought back to the day you got partnered with him. How he thought it would be a fucking nightmare and Tomura wanted to let the record show that he officially retracted that statement. This was in no uncertain terms, actually a wet dream come true and he was sure Dabi would never fucking believe him unless he walked through the door right now.
“That works,” he stuttered around the finger in his mouth and you reared up to wrap your legs around his waist.
Your lips found his again and he hummed in approval only cut off as you rolled so he was laying back and looking up. When you pulled back, he shivered at the way you raked your nails over his chest.
“So, you gonna tell me how much of a disgusting whore you think I am?”

Taking pictures of you - MASTERLIST
ONE|TWO|THREE
Tumblr media
Working as a model was not easy. The complaining managers and the expectations by others was too much to handle. Heck, even getting to the shooting locations was a hastle most of the time.
You tilted your head against the window in the backseat of the taxi. It was a calm august wednesday. The late summer breeze made it’s way into the cab thorugh the window that was opened on the drivers side. Your phone screen lit up, multiple notification from Instagram.
“omg! slay bbygrl”
“her face is crazy pretty”
“beautiful”
You’ve heard these words too many times. If you’re told the same thing over and over again they eventually mean nothing. You scrolled through the other comments on your latest instagram post, a photo from your last photoshoot. A picture of you lying in a bed of white flowers, your skin glowing and your body covered by a white sheer dress that accentuated your neck. It’s not a bad photo but was I really worth the attention? “There are a thousands of other girls way prettier than me.” you though and with a sulken expression you watched life run by outside the window.
15 minutes later you arrived at your agency. You smiled your model smile at the taxi driver to which he smiled back and responded: “My pleasure, miss y/n”.
A big shadow was cast from the building in which the modeling agency was. The beige renaissance building was surrounded by green bushes and a black fence. The big oak entryway had golden lion knockers and an ingraved golden sign. “Eccellente Modeling Agency” it said with bold black letters, contrasting nicely with the gold plate. You rang the doorbell next to the sign and in a matter of seconds the oak gates opened with a loud creak.
“Y/n!! You look stunning as always!” said your manager Bangchan as he hugged you. The smell of his aftershave violated your olfactory sense as usual, making you scrunch your nose. He was always dressed business casual, his white polo shirt and light brown dress pants being a good example but today his poloshirt had a great amount of buttons unbuttoned.
The both of you made your way into his office. A room with a high ceiling and a chandelier worth more than your career. You sat down in the leather couch across the desk, Bangchan sitting on the other side of it.
“Give me a moment.... Just pulling up some files for the new photoshoot I’ve planned! I promise, you’re not gonna be disappointed.” he says smiling, the desktop screen reflecting in his brown eyes.
He turns his computer screen towards you. Your eyes scan the pictures that pop up.
“May I present to you the profile of Hwang Hyunjin. One of the most renowned photographers of this age”. Bangchan looks at you, reading your expression.
The pictures are truly beautiful. Everything, from the outfits to the lightning was perfect.
“Bangchan, you’re insane” you say, smiling widely as you made eye contact with the dark haired manager. “These pictures are so stunning!” you squeal. “How did you even get in contact with him?”
“Nothing for you to worry about y/n, I have my contacts. I’m a manager after all”. He scoffs whilst scrolling through the profile. The next picture getting better than the previous one.
“So... when is the shoot and what concept have you planned?” you say whilst your eyes are glued to the computer screen.
“Mr, Hwang works for a multitude of companies but Styliz needed a model for their new pastel collection which I immedietly snatched onto. We all know how beautiful you look in pastels y/n” he said attentively to which you smiled, adoring the interest he has for his work.
“Oh.. I also cheked your schedule and you seem free tomorrow so how about then?” he added.
“Yes! I’d love too” you said with a small nod.
“Not that you have much choice, Mr Hwang’s time is worth gold y/n” he laughed and reached for something in his cabinet drawers.
“Here, take this” he said while sliding over a light grey business card.
‘Hwang Hyunjin, Photographer’ was written in dark grey letters. A black border decorating the edges of the card.
The morning sun shined thorugh the curtains blinding you temporarily. You felt after your phone on the nightstand with you hand, your eyes still closed. ‘8:05 am’ the screen showed against the background picture of your family.
You missed them, moving to a different city across the country at the young age of 18 was scary. You’ve aged, that’s for sure but you still missed them dearly. Dragging your lifeless body to the shower you hope for a day with happiness whilst the warm water hits your bare skin. It was a big day after all. A photoshoot with photographer Hwang Hyunjin. “Me... on Hyunjins work? It must be a dream...” you thought, grabbing the towel hanging on the cold, silver rack.
You dryed off your thick hair with a light pink towel with one hand whilst the other hand held your phone. “I have to look at his photos again” you thought, tapping on the Instagram icon and typing “Hwang Hyunjin” in the search bar, hoping and praying that his work was published on the social media platform.
“@ photographerHwang” was the first result to pop up and you tapped it instantly being just as surprised as you were yesterday of the beauty that his photos carried. Bumping into the table on your way to the kitchen you noticed a different photo on his feed. It didn’t look like any of the other photos because it was a selfie. You dropped your towel on the floor. No... it can’t be him... or could it?
His face looked like a work of art. Not only was the photo nicely edited with warm light emitting from your screen but the person was even more eyecatching. “It’s probably one of his models” you though as you placed your phone on the kitchen counter and grabbed a carton of milk from the fridge.
But what if it’s really him?
You threw on a grey hoodie and biker shorts before you flew out to the taxi waiting for you outside the apartment.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting sir! Here!” you said while panting, quickly pulling up a text message you got from Bangchan sharing the location of the photoshoot.
“Please, Miss y/n! No need to apologize” laughed the middle aged taxi driver softly. You were now on your way to the shoot.
Your brain was scattered. One part of you hoped that Mr Hwang really was the boy you saw on his instagram. His long, blond locks slightly covering his sharp jaw. His skin clear as day and rosy lips plump like two rose petals. The other part shut everything down, convinced that it’s one of his models that happened to be to your liking.
You opened his instagram page again.
“He must be famous for his perfect features...” you said under your breath, staring at his lips.
The whole taxi ride was filled with thoughts of him, whoever he was.
“Soon there miss y/n” the taxi driver said after 10 minutes of driving. The taxi slowed down and looking outside the window you saw Bangchan standing infront of a building that looked similar to the agency building. You waved slightly and he waved back at you.
You turned around to the driver and said; “Thank you so much sir”, giving him a generous tip and exiting the vehicle. A warm breeze latches on to you, making your hair flutter in the motions of the wind.
“Y/n! Perfectly on time” Bangchan said and hugged you.
You hugged him back, asking him about his day so far to which he responded;
“Good but going to be even better after this legendary photoshoot is done and we have the most perfect photos taken by the most influential photographer!” he sounded like a little child in a candy shop.
Your ears heated up due to his words and you smiled slightly.
“Let’s go to the second floor and get your outfit and makeup ready. A introduction with Styliz manager won’t be needed since he already knows your delightful personality” he laughed at his corny remarks and you did the same.
“You seem even more excited than me” you remarked, pressing the elevator button.
“When you see the end result you will be floored” Bangchan said and winked at you.
The elevator clanged. “Second floor”. The metal doors slided open. The eyes of a dozen stylists and makeup artists caught onto you. A slightly potbellied man in a navy colored suit approached you.
“Y/n! I’m so happy to see work with you again.” His voice was hoarse due to his age but his personality being the total opposite. You knew him well since Styliz’s chief was one of the first to offer you a modeling job in a foreign city, you only being a teenager with a big dreams at the time.
“Mr. Styliz! It’s lovely to meet you again” you smiled and sat down in a makeup chair, a girl with blond hair and big hoop earrings starting to brush powder across your nose. You saw Bangchans figure leave behind a door in the reflection of the mirror.
“Mr. Styliz, might I ask you a question?” You regretted the words as soon as the came out of your mouth. You didn’t need more information about the mysterious boy you saw on Hwang’s instagram page but you simply had to know who is was.
“Well of course y/n” said Mr. Styliz, his warm breath touched your cheek as he stood right by your side, smelling of morning coffee and looking at you through the mirror.
“Could I please get more information about Mr.Hwang?” you said, making eye contact with the old man.
“y/n, you’ll meet him soon! Then you can ask him how much you would like about his life but I must warn you... He is quite the secretive type”. The coffee breath was accentuated as he laughed.
You tried to play along, laughing a fake laugh as the hair designer started to brush out your locks. A wave of embarrassment washed through you.
The lights of the makeup mirror were getting hot, tiny sweat drops beading on your forehead which the makeup artist wiped off.
“We are done, Miss y/n” said the makeup artist, her earrings reflecting the light in the studio. You thanked her and saw Bangchan standing at the door where the cameras were.
“y/n, not much time left. Please go down the hallway and into the second door on your left, the stylist is in there fixing your outfit”. One reason as to why you loved Bangchan as your manager was his calm temper. Even in a time crunch, he always made sure to talk to you in a serene tone. After years in the modeling industry you still couldn’t get used to the ill-tempered staff. Too many times you had been forcefully dragged down corridors and streets whilst they muttered swear words at you. Even thinking about it sends shivers down your spine.
Your shoes tapped the white linoleum as you made your way down the narrow hallway, knocking on the second door to your left just as Bangchan said.
A familiar voice said; “Come in!” to which you turned the golden doorknob on  the white wooden door. The tall figure was rummaging in a big plastic container filled with clothes but upon your arrival the figure greeted you with warm eyes.
“No way!! It’s y/n!” screeched Jisung. He pulled you in to a hug, his belt buckle hit your stomach through the grey hoodie.
Jisung was a stylist and worked closely with Mr. Styliz therefore you’d gotten close to him. Not only did you like him for his exquisite fashion sense which had a whole different concept each time you saw him but also for his friendliness, always being polite.
“I’ve missed you so much Jisungie” you said with a pout.
“I though it was onesided but I guess not haha”
“Don’t be silly! How could I not miss that smile of your Sungie?” you hit him playfully on the arm to which he blushed.
“Go behind that  and I’ll throw some clothes for you.” he pointed at the wooden divider standing in the corner of the white room filled with clothes racks and colorful clothing.
You started undressing behind the divider and suddenly a pile of clothing was thrown on your head over the divider. You heard Jisung snicker at the yelp that came out of your mouth as you drowned in the clothes
“Jisung, you are so dead when I’m done” you said whilst putting on the last details to the outfit.
“I’m sorry i’m sorry i’m sorry” he said pleadingly while laughing hysterically.
You stood on the podium infront of the full lenght mirrors in the room as Jisung observed you and pinned the clothes slightly.
“Not gonna lie, it’s looks really good on you. The pastels matches perfectly with your skintone.” Jisung looked on the pleaded white skirt you had on.
You looked in the mirror and shook your head in agreement. The pastel purple sweater with the white collar poking out made you look youthful and innocent. You had on patent mary jane shoes in the same purple color as your sweater. The white kneesocks were slipping down as you moved slightly, almost looking like a school girl as you bend down to lift the socks up.
“Do you like it?” Jisung looked at you through the reflection on the mirror, standing on the floor making him a head shorter than you.
“Yea! You’ve never given me a bad outfit Sungie, they’re always adorable. My favorite stylist but don’t tell that to Bangchan” you smirked to which Jisung laughed.
“y/n, Jisung did a great job! You fit the concept to a tee” Bangchan stood infront of two wide dark green doors which led to the photostudio. He smiled shyly and pushed the doors open, a bright white light blinding you as you stepped in.
You squinted and held your hand infront of your eyes as you entered the studio, the air stuffy from all the white boxlights that have been working for a while.
“Miss y/n is here now, Mr. Hwang” Bangchan announced.
Your eyes felt blurry and the lights created a bokeh effect, your vision feeling like a filter. The first thing you saw was him. Hwang Hyunjin.
The shock froze your feet in one position. It was him. The selfie was Hyunjin. And he was hotter in real life.
A tall, slender figure stood on one foot, the other one behind his leg with the tip of the shoe pointing towards the floor.
“Are you ready, miss y/l/n?”.
His voice was sweeter than honeysuckle, you melted upon hearing him speak. Bangchan looked at you confused when you didn’t move, just observing the presence of the blonde boy infront of you.
“y/n?” Bangchan had a worried expression on his face as your face broke out in a massive blush.
“yeah..uh-mm..yes” you only managed to get that out before you were infront of the camera.
His willowy fingers wrapped around the black Canon camera, it fit perfectly in his hands as if it was made for him. You gulped upon seeing the veins that ran up his exposed arms, the white shirt bunched up by his elbows.
“Everything good miss? You seem distant” he said in that raspy but sweet voice.
“Uhm...yeah totally..” you looked awkward with your hands by your side as you saw Bangchan observing you with a confused gaze.
“Please tilt your head to the right and stand broad with your feet” Hyunjin commanded to which you complied. The flash of the big studio lights didn’t effect you as much anymore since you were used to this but what did effect you was how concentrated Hyunjin looked. Like a true photographer. It was obvious that he enjoyed his job by the way his eyes shined when he looked at the monitor and corrected every detail. Luckily you could stare at his figure all that you wanted since it looked like you were keeping eye contact with the camera and not him. Glancing over to the left of the photographer you saw Bangchan smiling his bright smile, signaling that he’s proud over you.
Flash
Flash
And another flash before Hyunjin looked at the monitor displaying the photos he just took, a smirk crept onto his face.
“Good job y/l/n. Could you please grab that chair over there and sit on the edge of it?” he said whilst pointing towards a small wooden stool. Reacting instantly to his soft voice and gestures you pulled the stool towards the x on the ground, making sure you were in frame.
“One leg over the other” Hyunjin said without even looking towards you, his pale veiny hands were now twisting and turning some buttons on both the camera and monitor. You shook your head up and down slightly in agreement before doing as told and as Hyunjin turned back his chocolatey brown eyes landed on yours. Now it was impossible to hide your burning cheeks, Hyunjin noticed since he laughed stiffly before grabbing the camera off the camera stand and going down on one knee to capture an angle from below. Numerous amounts of sparks from the big box lights were emitted and after every spark Hyunjin turned around to the screen which displayed your figure. Staring at him you smiled slowly, feeling your heart beat faster. Why do I feel like this by just looking at him? Your head was clouded with millions of other thoughts. Just as you started tuning out the room Hyunjin clapped his hands hard, the sound ringing in your ears. You jumped slightly which made Bangchan laugh.
“All done! Nice work everybody” Hyunjin announced loudly before bowing down to the other staff members in the room and to you as well. You returned his gesture by a slight bow of the head and quickly scurried of to Bangchan, your face hot.
“Are you sure you’re not ill?” Bangchan said softly before putting the back of his hand towards your forehead. Shaking your head from side to side you pushed his hand away.
“No, I’m fine... just so hot with the box lights you know?” you laughed fumblingly, not knowing where to rest your gaze.
You felt someone tap you on your left shoulder and you almost fainted when you turned around. Hyunjin was standing three footsteps from you, the scent of his cologne making you swoon. He smiled as he saw your shy expression and sparkling eyes.
“I though that it must have been hot, here have this”
He casually held out a waterbottle which you received with both hands as a gesture of thankfulness.
“y/n, I’m just gonna head off to Jisung to discuss something. Meet me at the changing rooms in about 10, ok?” Bangchan said, slightly leaning towards your ear.
“Yeah, see you in 10!” you said while the managers back disappeared through the broad doors of the studio. Turning back to Hyunjin his blond locks were draped infront of his eyes and as he spoke he tucked those light pieces behind his ear, revealing his small silver hoop earrings.
“I’m gonna pack up the cords now but it was a pleasure to work with you, miss y/l/n”
The corners of your mouth went upwards at his formality.
“Please, call me y/n” you said quietly, being too shy to look him in the eyes.
“Sure, see you around y/n” Hyunjin said as he lifted up his hand to shake yours. His lanky fingers were filled with bold rings, many of which were designer. A slight panic rushed through your mind as you didn’t want to scare him away with your clammy hands. The sweaty hands and the churning of your stomach was all due to Hyunjin nearness. Hesitantly you streched the tips of your fingers against the blond haired boy and his hand emitted warmth when being met with your fingertips. He smiled before turning back, his eyes forming into half moons as charming dimples errupted on his lean cheeks.
You bowed to the other staff members on your way out of the building on your way to meet Bangchan and Jisung in the changing room. The waterbottle in your hand almost slipped as you took another clunck of the fresh water and that’s when you noticed something. Stopping in the hallway where the stylists room was located you inspected the waterbottle and saw a black marker scribble on the wrapper around the bottle. Upon removing it your heart stopped. Your knees could give up at any moment from the sheer shock. Am I losing my mind? A number was loosely doodled on the white plastic wrapper and underneath it there was a message.

wait for me || Saeran x MC - OneShot
genre; angst + fluff
summary; When the pandemic starts, MC gets stuck in another country, away from Saeran who was just starting his recovery. She tries to work a system with him so they can feel close even when they’re kilometers apart.
notes; I had this written down for a month but I couldn’t finish it, lol. hope you like it! <3
-----------------------------
“No!”
“Saeran, I don’t…”
“No! You’re a liar. You’re lying!”
You flinched, watching how he threw everything that was on his desktop on the floor. The loudness of it made you think maybe Saeran had thrown away the mug he would usually leave around the house. You silently prayed for Saeyoung to come to his room, at least to keep your boyfriend from hurting himself if it came to it.
“I’m not lying, Saeran. I didn’t want this to happen. I’m so sorry, I am” you said, following Saeran’s figure on the screen. He was standing in front of his laptop, walking incessantly around his room, his hands on his head.
“I didn’t think things would get bad so quickly, I already had my ticket set for tomorrow morning. I wanted to be there with you, but they have forbidden flights in and out the country, I can’t go back, I want to, I do!” you insisted “But I can’t. Not for now.”
You expected Saeran to break another thing. You did, hoping it was nothing he could accidentally cut himself with. You had been there for numerous panic attacks and even though he had thrown away any object he had close, trying to protect himself from the danger he thought he was still in, it hadn’t been as violent as it was now. It killed you not being able to be there for him.
And where was Saeyoung!? You grabbed your phone and dialed his number under the table, making sure Saeran wouldn’t see you through your webcam. You heard someone knocking Saeran’s door and trying to open it, but he had apparently locked it.
“Saeran, please open the door” you asked him in a soft voice. The door handle moved and you could hear Saeyoung’s voice from the other room, trying to get inside, asking his brother to let him in. “Saeran, please--”
“No!” he shouted. This time, it seemed the roughness of his scream seemed to scare him too. He let himself fall on the floor as he started crying, his body trembling. You started crying as well, even though Saeran’s psychologist had insisted you had to remain calm whenever he had a panic attack. You wanted nothing else but to be there by his side, smelling the fine scent of his hair, your arms around him, whispering soft nothings to his ear.
“You promised you weren’t going to leave. You promised you wouldn’t leave, you said you would always be here” he whimpered, his hand clutching the fabric of his hoodie.
“I know, baby. But I’m not gone, I may not be there but I will be there. Just wait for me, I’ll be there and I’ll stay with you, I-- I’m so sorry…” you cried, wiping your face with the back of your hand. “I’m sorry, but please don’t cry. I’m with you, I haven’t left you, I still love you, I…”
“Stop lying! Don’t lie to me!” he said, his hands covering his ears. The doorknob had stopped moving and you now feared for Saeyoung. While he was usually more collected, there was no way a breakdown like this from his twin wouldn’t startle him as well.
You didn’t know what else to do. There was no one you could call. You knew Jumin or Zen would do anything to help you, but there was no way they could do something about this. You kept calling your boyfriend’s name, trying to soothe him with your voice as your usually did, but it seemed it never was your voice on the first time. Maybe it was the way you held him or the warmth of your body. He kept trembling, grabbing his clothes frantically, as if he were trying to hold on to something.
“Please, sit on the chair so I can see your face. Can you do that?” you asked.
“You promised you would be by my side. I even gave you the fake elixir and--”
Oh no.
Never before had Saeran regressed to the days in Mint Eye. Sure, he still had nightmares about it, but he had never thought he was still there, still trapped, still abused. You chest felt hollow as you looked around your hotel room, trying to desperately figure out how to help him. How to get him out of there once more.
He was still crying, whimpering on the floor and you couldn’t wrap your head around the idea that he thought he was back in Mint Eye. Back in the place where he was tortured for years, where they had mentally broke him so much he had adopted the passive Ray persona.
“You said you weren’t going to leave. You promised to stay in the room I prepared, you promised” he sobbed, his eyes lost on the carpet. “You promised” he repeated.
“Baby, I know, but I’m going to figure out a way to get out of here, okay? I’ll get in touch with the embassy and they’ll--”
“I get it, I really dol” Saeran interrupted you. “Why would you want to stay with me? I’m nothing”
“You’re everything to m--”
“I’m better off dead. I’m not useful”
In those past days, you would reaffirm him constantly and his mood would get better with your sweet words but it didn’t seem to be working anymore. You whispered a curse, forcing yourself to come up with a solution that could work with the state Saeran was in.
After a minute of watching your boyfriend crying, you thought of an alternative. It wasn’t your best idea and it hurt to even think about doing that, but maybe it was to only way to bring him back. To bring him home.
“Hey!” you yelled, your heart breaking and how he winced. You furrowed your eyebrows, trying to appear serious. “Yes, you heard me. Stand up!” you commanded in a raspy voice.
Saeran did as told, his shoulders slumped, looking like a prey that had nowhere else to run.
You swallowed thick. “Sit on the chair” you said, watching him sit on the computer chair, tears still falling from his face, quietly sobbing. You would have never wanted to raise your voice at him for anything in the world, never wanted to damage something as precious as him. But at least he was off the floor now. You took a deep breath and softened your expression, coming closer to your camera.
“You’re not in Mint Eye anymore” his head shot up, looking at you, eyes open wide. “You are free now. You’re not a Believer, you’re not Ray, you’re Saeran Choi and you’re a free man. You are no longer there. We got out of there. You and me, remember?” you asked, smiling softly at him. “I told you I would always be with you and I still am. We’re free now, Saeran”.
Saeran kept looking at you, his eyebrows slightly furrowing, his lip twitching just a bit as he was processing the information you had given him.
“Who am I?” you asked. He looked at his screen, taking notice of the features of your face. From your eyes, your nose, your mouth and your braided hair on a side.
“You’re MC” he whispered, unsure.
“I’m MC. And you’re Saeran”.
He nodded in silence. You noticed how his shoulders were moving slower, his breathing coming back to normal. Just as you were about to talk once again, Saeran’s door was brought down. Both you and your boyfriend screamed at the sudden noise.
Saeyoung was laying on top of the floor next to a chair that he had apparently used to break his way to his brother’s bedroom. Both you and Saeran stared at him shocked. A couple of seconds later, Saeyoung raised his head and looked at his brother, who was still sitting in front of his computer.
“Good, you’re okay now” he commented and chuckled before resting his head on the floor again. Saeran sighed and got up, trying to help him get up.
“Are you okay?” you asked, watching how Saeyoung was holding his shoulder when he got up.
“Yes, nothing I can’t handle” he waved you off.
“You’re such a moron” Saeran muttered, making you smile softly.
---------------------------------
After making sure Saeyoung hadn’t dislocated his shoulder, both you and Saeran sat down and tried to come up with a plan. You would get in touch with the Korean embassy in the country you were in, asking if there were flights for korean citizens who wanted to get back home. In the meantime, you FaceTimed every chance you could, even if you weren’t doing anything in particular.
The system worked. From day one, you would set up an alarm and call Saeran by the time he usually woke up in the morning and you both would spend time laying on the bed and talking a bit. You both would carry your phones with yourselves, feeling as if you both were together as you prepared breakfast or dinner. You would watch movies together a lot, preferring to share a screen instead of using Netflix Party so you could look at each other while also watching the movie.
Saeran was a little sad the third day away from you, which was the day you announced the embassy hadn’t set a day for the air charter flight. You assured him you had signed up to be informed as soon as they set the date. For safety reasons, you had to be in quarantine in Korea for another two weeks before you could return home, so you asked Saeran to wait for you a little bit longer.
However, it seemed the video calls were really working for his mood. He had stayed calm and patient, even if one day you had excused yourself because the internet in your hotel room wasn’t working well. You told him you had asked to be moved to a different room with better signal and the next day, you gave him a little tour of your new room.
You would chat everyday with Saeyoung, making sure Saeran was doing as okay as he seemed and that he was taking his medications. He promised to keep an eye on him but reassured you he was doing just fine. He was a little sad, yes, but whenever you called him his eyes would light up. You felt incredibly thankful he hadn’t had had another episode.
On the seventeenth day, you called Saeran, who was still in bed. He connected his earphones, wanting a little privacy and accepted the call.
“Good morning!” you sing-sung, holding your phone in front of you. Saeran smiled softly.
“Good morning. What’s with that background?” he asked, looking at the customized background you were using for the video call.
“Oh, it’s Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’. Thought it looked classy” you explained. “So, how did you sleep?”
“Meh” Saeran shrugged. “How about you?”
“I couldn’t sleep much either. I have big plans for today and was a little excited” you confessed with a small laugh. Saeran raised an eyebrow.
“Plans?”
“Big plans!” you repeated, laughing. “You want a clue?”
“Sure” he replied. He shifted on the bed, trying to get more comfortable to continue the call, but when he looked back at his phone, he noticed the call had ended. Saeran looked at the notification bar and noticed he had no Internet connection. He huffed, annoyed.
“Saeyoung, what the hell did you do to the router?” he complained, getting up. He didn’t know what Saeyoung had done this time with his hacking activities but if he had messed the internet connection somehow, there was going to be a big fight.
He didn’t expect to see you when he opened his bedroom door.
“I got a flight back” you simply said, holding your phone against your chest. Without being able to restrain any further, you jumped to his arms, hugging him tightly and kissing the side of his head repeatedly. You felt your boyfriend’s arms around your back, holding you so tightly it was a little painful.
“How…?” he whispered, burying his face in the crook of your neck. You felt how his whole body was trembling underneath you. You were trying your best not to cry, but you didn’t think you were going to last long.
“Jumin has contacts in the Korean Embassy so he managed to get me a ticket for the closest flight. All this time I’ve been in quarantine in this hotel downtown, they tested me after those fourteen days and I’m healthy so I could go back home. I wanted to surprise you” you explained, finally letting him go and looking at his face. Cue the tears. “I missed you so much” you whimpered, kissing him softly, as if to make sure he was really there.
“Welcome home” he whispered, making you smile at him and kiss him one more time.
“Sooooo, can I turn the router back on?” Saeyoung asked from the living room, making you chuckle in between the kiss. You pulled apart from Saeran.
“Yes, please do. We’re going back to bed, I need some sleep” you announced, grabbing your boyfriend’s hand and closing the door behind you.
You both slept all morning. You were finally home.

Prompt: We work in the same office and you have a goddamn squeaky chair and you wONT FUCKING STOP SQUEAKING IT BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT ANNOYS ME
Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.
“Almighty lord please give me strength,” you grumbled quietly under your breath as you pressed your fingertips to your temples, applying extra pressure.
Squeak. Squeeaakkk. SQUEAK.
sent 1.45pm. I’m going to murder someone received 1.45pm. lol received 1.45pm. it’s just a chair sent 1.45pm. it’s nOT JUST A CHAIR sent 1.45pm. IT’S FREAKING A FREAKING LUCAS sent 1.45pm. MY FUCKING DEMISE
received 1.46pm. calm down haha received 1.46pm. you’re going to burst a vein
“Hey, do you have notes from yesterday’s group meeting? I meant to send you an email earlier but got busy.”
You looked up from your dimmed monitor to see Doyoung casually leaning against the grey walls of your cubicle.
Breathing a big sigh of relief you nodded before replying, “Yeah, I just have to type it out unless if you just want to take them to copy? I can grab them later.”
Doyoung looked at you with amusement as you shuffled through your folders and documents, noticing the air of distress around you.
“Something bothering you?” He chuckled as he took the loose sheets of paper from you.
You groaned and rolled your eyes, immediately regretting that decision as your migraine began pounding harder. Without giving him a vocal answer you glanced over in the direction of Lucas, the new hire who was currently seated across the aisle from you snickering to himself as he rolled his chair back and forth.
Doyoung let out a big laugh before shaking his head, “Seems like your pain medication isn’t working.”
You glared at his teasing remark as you crossed your arms in disapproval, “If there were medication strong enough to fight against Lucas pray tell.”
Doyoung simply laughed again at your reaction before thanking you for the notes, walking back to his own desk unbothered.
received 2.04pm. can you come to my desk?
You raised a brow as you glanced at the message from your friend before locking your computer. With a deep breath, you pushed yourself out of your chair and hurriedly walked down the aisle. You could’ve sworn you saw Lucas perk up when you stood up and thanked the heavens that you were quick enough to get away before he could call you.
As the top of Jeno’s head came into view you softly called his name. He looked up at you in surprise before turning back to finish the sentence he was typing.
“Oh, hey what’s up? Need to rant in person?” He grinned and crossed his arms, turning to give you his full attention.
You quirked a brow at him before saying, “Um… no? I mean I can. You asked me to come over?”
Jeno looked at you in confusion before jerking his thumb towards his screen, “I didn’t ask you to come over. I just sent you another message actually, before you could accuse me of leaving you hanging.”
The teasing was never-ending in the office working with Doyoung and Jeno. You stuck your tongue out at him before leaning in to scan your chat pulled up on his monitor.
“Huh, I guess I should’ve looked more carefully,” you simply shrugged and stepped back into the aisle. “I should check who it was then.”
“Alright,” Jeno chuckled as you turned around to leave.
“You still down for dinner at seven?” He called after you.
You shot him a thumbs up without turning back, wondering how you completely glazed over the name in chat.
As you got closer to your desk though, you saw Lucas look at you in excitement before calling your name.
Grimacing inside, you put on a polite smile before robotically walking over to his desk instead.
“Did you need help with something?”
His grin grew wider as he nodded before beckoning you to take a look over his shoulder, “I messaged you and thought you were coming over. I guess you didn’t see my message before you left so I thought I’d just call you over.”
Only then did it click in your head why he seemed so eager when you first left your cubicle.
“Sorry about that,” you apologized, feeling your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Embarrassment for being dumb.
“It’s no problem,” he chirped cheerfully and then pointing at his screen. “I was going to ask if you could help me figure out how to work this out. I reached out to Seulgi and she said to ask you since you were the one who had instructions on this.”
You looked at the problem he was pointing out and nodded as you recognized it immediately.
“Yeah, it takes a big of time to work through the steps. I have the instructions on my computer. Let me send them to you and if you have any issues following them just let me know,” you explained before stepping back out to the aisle. “Was there anything else you needed?”
Lucas hummed for a second then shook his head, “No, that’s it for now. Thanks for taking a look!”
“It’s no problem,” you offered him a small smile and turned around to enter your own desk when he called you again. You looked back expecting him to have another issue on his computer but froze at what he said.
“You look really pretty today.”
He grinned sweetly, holding your blank gaze for a moment before turning back to his desk as if he hadn’t just said something out of the ordinary.
Brain short-circuited, you slowly entered your cubicle and sat down, subconsciously logging back on to your computer.
received 2.31pm. so who needed you?
You stared at your screen silently, senses suddenly heightened as you listened to the background noise of others working in the office. Your heartbeat was a little faster and a little stronger too, surprising you.
Lucas… was annoying. He knew you hated whenever he would squeak his chair and you even hinted towards it a few times. Not outright confronting him about it because you were a little worried how he might react. More so because you weren’t sure how nicely you could phrase asking him to stop either.
Now though… you were blushing? You weren’t supposed to be blushing over Lucas. You were supposed to be having a migraine, which you noticed was gone…
received 2.35pm. hello? I know you’re online it says you read my messages. are you really leaving me on read?
The pinging from your desktop brought back your attention to the work in front of you waiting to be done.
sent 2.36pm. sorry sorry. I was just distracted. sent 2.36pm. it was just Lucas received 2.36pm. just Lucas? sent 2.36pm. um… yeah why?
received 2.38pm. are you okay? received 2.38pm. you never say “just Lucas”. It’s always that little brat or annoying newbie or as you so stated earlier your demise received 2.38pm. did something happen? received 2.38pm. what happened? received 2.38pm. did he say something?
sent 2.39pm. woah…. no nothing happened. why would you even think that?
received 3.41pm. well despite you hating him I’m actually friends with him received 3.41pm. friend privileges means i know when something happens ;)
You scoffed at Jeno’s audacity with a small frown following. Of course he was completely right, but you didn’t want him to know. You also didn’t like the idea of being flustered by Lucas.
received 4.43pm. check his ears lol sent 4.43pm. why? received 4.43pm. because if they’re red that means he’s blushing sent 4.43pm. stop being cryptic Jeno. why would he be blushing.
received 4.44pm. come on we both know why. don’t even try pretending received 4.44pm. now check his ears!!
With a big sigh and muttering under your breath about how or why you even became friends with Jeno in the first place, you tried your best to stealthily sneak a look at Lucas. Luckily he was completely focused on his monitor and didn’t notice you peeking in his direction.
You studied his side profile for a second, actually noticing how handsome he looked when his annoying laughing face was imprinted in your mind. Shaking your head to rid your thoughts of his face, you quickly looked at his ears before gasping quietly.
They were completely utterly RED.
sent 4.55pm. wtf. why would he be blushing? sent 4.55pm. second of all he knows I hate when he squeaks his stupid chair so sent 4.55pm. so that doesn’t prove that he likes me or whatever you’re trying to suggest!!! received 4.55pm. well…. I squeak my chair because I know it gets your attention…
When you saw the reply you mentally face palmed yourself before squeezing yourself closer to your desk, wishing the ground would just swallow you up. While you had turned to look at Lucas, he had messaged you asking for the document you said you would send to him almost half an hour ago. It was like your brain shut off for the day and you just weren’t paying attention to anything anymore.
received 4.46pm. and um… I do like you… I just thought you didn’t like me…
Now you felt like an absolute asshole. What the heck were you supposed to say?
sent 4.47pm. Jeno sent 4.47pm. JENO sent 4.47pm. LEE JENO received 4.47pm. lol what’s up
sent 4.48pm. how can you what’s up me in a time like this???? sent 4.48pm. i’m literally dying of embarrassment right now!!!!
You literally couldn’t believe your luck at that moment. What could you have done differently? Was this all predetermined? You were loathing the world… but also… not? It was all weird. Everything felt weird. He never even showed you any signs that he liked you?
received 4.49pm. so would you like to go on a date sometime?
attachment sent 4.52pm. instructions_for_closes.docx.
It was taking everything in you to not run from your desk and just hide in the bathroom.
sent 4.52pm. he just… asked me out… received 4.52pm. what did you say? sent 4.52pm. I sent him the attachment I said I was going to send him half an hour ago….
received 4.53pm. you seriously are cold sent 4.53pm. Jeno!! sent 4.53pm. I’m panicking!! I don’t know??? What am I supposed to say???
received 4.54pm. yes sent 4.54pm. what?? I can’t just say yes?!!? received 4.54pm. you literally can just say yes received 4.54pm. come on everyone was betting on it anyway sent 4.54pm. WHAT?!
received 4.55pm. I mean let’s be real. Everyone knew that he liked you. Well except you because you’re kind of thick as a wall. received 4.55pm. and the way you complain about him… we all kind of know it’s not just the chair. sent 4.55pm. choose your next words carefully Lee Jeno. If you’re implying that I secretly liked Lucas received 4.55pm. it’s not an implication we could all see it, hence the betting.
You sighed in disbelief before pushing yourself away from your desk. He was unbelievable. Truly unbelievable for even thinking and taking part in that without even telling you any of it. Tapping your foot aggressively as you chewed on your inner cheek, you quickly assessed yourself. Jeno was sweet, but he was also honest. That was the one quality in him that had bridged the two of you so quickly when he first started working in the same department full-time.
As much as you didn’t want to admit it, a lot of the times you were right and Jeno was less right. Even then, sometimes Jeno was right and you were less right. And maybe… this was one of those times that you were less right.
sent 5.05pm. I’m free Saturday night.
“Yeah!” You heard Lucas hoot from his desk before risking it, turning to take a look at him.
He had a huge smile on his face and winked at you when he noticed you staring and didn’t turn away. You could feel the blood rush to your cheeks again, regretting that you had looked at him because you already knew that was a mistake.
received 5.06pm. I’ll pick you up at 5:45pm ;))))

Deku
Summary: Izuku Midoriya.Short. Timid. A mumbling and bumbling mess of green locks and viridian doe-eyes.
Katsuki Baukgou. Cocky. An ego that can fill a small room. Can't form one sentence without snarling, or barking at whoever is on the receiving end. Let alone not adding the word 'fuck' too every threat he spits out
Now how do these two polar opposites meet?
Website: [Fanfiction.net] [AO3]
An AU where Izuku doesn’t know Katsuki before attending U.A.
Izuku Midoriya.
Quirkless.
Nothing in his life made him feel more numb than that realization. Growing up with the dream of becoming a Pro Hero never hindered him, it made him more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Little doe-eyed Izuku zoomed across his quaint apartment he shared with his Mom; Inko Midoriya.
Jumping over the couch, ducking under the dinning table. Petite little hands grasping unto the All Might cape tied around Little Izuku's neck. A toothy grin on full display, not a single care in the world for this young boy. These shenanigans were a daily occurrence in the Midoriya household. Inko held pride and fullness in her viridian eyes, stealing longing glances at her sleeping son.
Who majority of the time would be out cold laying on the living room couch, wrapped-up in his All Might cape. Draping over his petite frame, engulfing his torso. Tiny legs and feet hanging over the edge of the couch, sometime during the night Inko would scope up the limp body from the couch, bringing Little Izuku to his bedroom. All Might posters littered the walls- floor to ceiling- All Might figurines lining the selves of all variations.
Paused on the desktop in Little Izuku's room was an old video of All Might saving three civilians, two under each arm and one thrown over his left shoulder.
Fire dances across the screen, grey smoke hanging in the corner of the computer screen. All Might's infamous ear-splitting grin in full view splayed across the screen in 1080p, this three minute video was Izuku's pride and joy.
Every day without hesitation, Izuku would be tugging on his Mom's hand, "Mommy! It's time! I want to watch the video!" dragging her to his bedroom.
Izuku sat at the same desk chair, staring into space. With the same All Might video echoing in the background, blank expression plastered to his face, tears spilling over, new tears staining the already wet rounded cheeks. Inko pressed into Izuku's side, her arms encircled around Izuku's frame. Face buried into the crook of his neck, mumbling, with choke sobs wracking her small frame.
"I'm so sorry baby," is all she could choke out between the waves of sobs overtaking her.
Quirkless.
Izuku knew from then on out, he was the center of attention. Not the typical attention most middle schoolers craved, praised. For succeeding in getting a complicated equation right, or finally making a change in one's actions. Izuku never craved any of that useless attention from anybody, he was not a complicated boy.
He just wanted to be a Pro Hero.
Huffing a deep sigh, Izuku shut his locker after collecting all his school books from the day. Shoving all the textbooks in his schoolbag, one strap over his shoulder. Shoulders hunched in, not breaking eye contact from the stark white tiled floor. The curly green strands of hair, hang over Izuku's eyes.
Sounds of shoes scuffing the floor echoed the hallway. "Quirkless! Are you ever going to get anywhere in life? I for one will admit- cause one else will- think you should just jump off a building! Maybe then your quirk will actually show up!"
Izuku didn't even flinch at the insinuation, in his daily life at school it was bound to happen sooner or later. Banter's between fellow students, 'quirkless? No way?! I have never even thought of that,' and 'that little bitch has nothing, why is he still here?.' All of it was resonating in Izuku, none of it mattered to him. He never asked to be quirkless, nor did he want to be quirkless.
‘Shit, I'm crying?’ When did that start?
Izuku's fingertips brushed his freckled cheek, gently. Tears to normal people were a sign of weakness; disgrace, broken. To Izuku tears was a sign of courage, pure strength. These tears were shed time and time again, over Izuku being "weak".  Tears embodied the hurt Izuku suffered for being quirkless, always being belittled.
Izuku clenched his fist, knuckles turning white. Blunt nails pressing crescent shapes into his palms, blood was trickling in slow paths down the side of his clenched palm. Izuku brought his bottom lip between his teeth, chewing on it, mercilessly.
Being quirkless will not define him, just because he doesn't have quirk, will not mean he can't become a Hero.
                                      ___________________________
U. A. Highschool
Izuku Midoriya prevails in one thing, attending the top hero school in Japan. If somebody told him that he would be attending U.A. a month ago he would have keeled over in the fetal position. Not even a month and a half ago, did he mindlessly run headfirst into a brawl between a person with a sledge type of quirk, and a boy his age. Being choked from the inside by that crazy bastard, a futile attempt at saving the teen.
“You crazy bastard! What the fuck?! W-what..?” crimson eyes wide, with shock.
Clawing at the slime that bound the teen, “I may not know you, my leg’s just started running all on their own! Damn it! I won’t let you die!” Izuku barked, raw determination laced with every syllable escaping the greenette’s lips.
That is the fateful day Izuku Midoriya received One For All. All Might sought out Midoriya that same day, bearing him the chance of being his Successor. Izuku was a bumbling and mumbling mess, a flushed face. Tears staining his freckled cheeks, snot induced.
His typical soft features now wore the fire of a new life. Shifting his viridian eyes, to All Mights blue inferno ones.
“I shall be the next One For All Holder.”
Now here he is, staring up at the expense building of U.A., three years of hero training and real-life experience. One step into a new life-
Izuku face planted straight into the concrete in front of every first year.
“That is a great way to make first impressions, Midoriya.” Mumbling to himself, his cheeks flushed a soft pink. Racing back to his feet, a somewhat futile attempt at a tight lip smile. Scratching the back of his neck, a tiny sigh.
There go any chance of making a good impression on his fellow classmates, shutting his eyes to try to calm his erratic heart rate. Opening his eyes, he came face-to-face with crimson red ones.
Yelping, taking one step back. Completely breathless, Izuku placed his hand over his heart. “W-what are doing?! You nearly made my heart leap from my chest!” Izuku fretted, hand still on his chest.
A devilish smile spread across the blondes face, “why the fuck would I care? You're that idiot, who was trying to get to me that day of the attack?” he asked. Izuku did a once over the blonde, the same crimson eyes.
Izuku’s hand fell to his side. “H-hold o-on, your him?” Izuku sputtered, eyes going wide. The blonde scoffed in response.
“The fuck is it to you, nerd.”
Izuku’s mouth felt like cotton, dry. No words were forming, or his mind just completely shut down.
“Izuku Midoriya.”
One blonde eyebrow quirked up, arms crossed over a broad chest, the same stone cold sneer evident on the blondes face.
“Katsuki Bakugou,” he says, a gentle tone intertwined in the introduction.
Shoving both hands into his uniform pockets. Katsuki's stone cold sneer,  the corner of his mouth tugged up into a small smile. The sneer plastered to the blondes face, smoothed over.
Midoriya nodded his head, “Bakugou…” Izuku whispered to himself.
“Tch,” Katsuki grunts in response, rolling his eyes.
“Deku,” Katsuki smirked, crimson eyes bore into the viridian eyes of Deku.

Logan held the door open and gestured for Virgil to enter; pizza boxes securely in his hands. The apartment was rather deceiving; though it had appeared narrow from the outside, the inner layout made it feel spacious and welcoming. Stepping past the kitchen to the small dining table, Virgil set the boxes down and eagerly flipped them open to reveal the greasy pizza, garlic knots and chocolate brownie. It was a meal fit for a king in his mind and he eagerly grabbed a slice to start eating before Logan appeared with napkins; humming as the treat warmed his very soul.
“I take it you don’t get pizza very often?” Logan inquired, raising an eyebrow at the others euphoric face.
Instinctively shaking his head, Virgil swallowed and sheepishly took a napkin to wipe his face.
“Sorry. I was in such a hurry this morning I skipped breakfast.”
“That isn’t a frequent habit of yours, is it?” Virgil shrugged and chewed on the pizza crust; causing Logan to sigh and reach for his own slice. “Though some research suggests skipping meals, such as breakfast, is good for weight loss, the more prominent effect is reduced energy levels. If you want to be able to function at your best, you should have regular healthy meals.”
“Thanks, Google.” Virgil grinned, licking the oil from his fingers. “I’ll keep that in mind for the future. How’s this pizza look in terms of health factor?”
“Well, it does cover most of the major food groups; so, I think you will be okay.”
The pair laughed and continued eating; Virgil once again impressed that Logan could be both serious and easy going. It was a comforting balance and with each exchange, he felt himself relaxing more and more in their presence. They bantered back and forth overeating habits and better food options until Logan excused himself to collect the hard drive he needed looked at.
Virgil moved the remains of their lunch to the kitchen and took a cloth to wipe the table clean of any oily residue. Satisfied, he set up his laptop before pulling his phone out, almost thankful to see Ben hadn’t replied; though he did wonder what it meant in the long run. Anxiety melted away when Logan returned, and he eagerly took the drive from his hands to dive into work. Pulling up screens with strings of file names and codes, Virgil clicked and scrolled through windows with the confidence of a child turning the pages of a book. Logan was lost watching him; same as the last time he watched him work.
“Your intelligence certainly exceeds my own, Virgil.”
“What are you talking about?” He scoffed in reply, not looking away from the screen. “Who’s the science major with, I’m guessing, a full academic scholarship in this room?”
“I actually had offers for my academic and athletic abilities from various higher education institutes; but that’s beside the point.”
“Humbling remark there, Lo.”
“Yes; but, you certainly best me when it comes to computers. I honestly have no idea what it is you are doing right now. It just looks like keyboard smashing to me.”
The laugh that shook Virgil’s thin body was something he hadn’t experienced in a long time. It was weightless, uplifting and pure; and he could feel that it brought fresh colour to his cheeks.
“Just know,” he gasped through stifled giggles, “I will only see this as a keyboard smash from now on, and I love the fact that you compared it to that.”
“You’re welcome. Now, can you please explain what you are doing?”
“Oh, I’m cleaning the files. You haven’t been ejecting the disc properly and there was a lot of rough data. You gotta take care of your files man, it’s a delicate system.”
“Right,” Logan nodded but looked even more confused. “Would you show me how to - um - eject this… disc properly, at a later date?”
“Sure, Logan.” Virgil beamed, shaking his head slightly at the man’s uncertain tone.
Clicking a file, an image loaded on the screen and Virgil grinned at Logan in triumph. A small smile sat on his face as he inspected the picture from his and Patton’s high school graduation.
“Looking good there, Lo.” He mused, pointing at the obviously fake smile plastered on their face. “That is a brilliant smile if I do say so myself.”
“I didn’t particularly enjoy the public display, nor the outfit. Have you saved all the images?” As Virgil nodded, Logan shuffled closer and reached towards the arrow keys. “Would you mind if I have a quick look?”
“The laptop is metaphorically yours.” He replied, angling the device closer for Logan to reach.
Shuffling through the images, Virgil watched Logan’s face light up as each image loaded on the screen. Familiar faces of Roman and Katie flashed up, as well as many selfies with Patton. It wasn’t until Logan must have shuffled into another folder that the tone of the moment shifted; nostalgic joys replaced with sadness as Jason’s face began appearing in each photo. Selfies, photos taken from a bystander of the two close together, and shots from track races slid across the screen.

A new emotion snaked into Virgil’s gut that he hadn’t felt in a while. Jealousy. The happiness that emanated from every photo of Jason and Logan made Virgil’s stomach churn. It was different to the smile he saw in the photos with Patton; a clear indication of how different Logan’s relationships with both were.
Logan paused on an image of Roman holding Patton bridal style with Jason hugging Logan to their left; the biggest smile Virgil had ever seen spread across Logan’s face.
“You look really happy there.” He noted, half smiling at the sad man beside him.
“We were… but it wasn’t enough for Jason.”
“What do you mean?” Leaning back in his chair, Virgil knitted his brow in confusion. “Everything I’ve seen, and from what you’ve told me, it seemed you were both very happy. He loved you.”
A breathy laugh left Logan’s lips and he pressed the arrow key again, causing a video to begin playing. “Not enough.”
Virgil watched the recording in silence; Logan leaning back and staring at the screen sadly. Jason held the camera on himself in dim flickering light, the muffled thump of music in the background as he spoke.
“Hey, Lo, you left your phone behind, so I thought I’d leave a little message for you. I don’t know when you’re going to watch this or if I’m going to be with you, but whatever.”
He took a breath to steady himself and looked straight into the camera with soft determined features.
“Logan, we met in the best way possible; beating up a homophobic asshole and getting locked in a cell together. You were the first person from school I came out too and, by default, I was the first person you came out to. We went from strangers on the track, to friendly competitors, and I relished every opportunity to take you on. I held your hand when you came out to your parents. You were there when my Dad passed away. You supported my move to help Katie and Roman. I watched you beat my school track record and handed over that title with pride and an embrace they’re still talking about.”
He rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled to himself.
“And shit, you’re a good hugger, Logan. I mean, 10 out of 10 better than Patton.”
Logan let out a small laugh and swiped a tear that escaped his eye; ignoring the voice screaming for him to stop the video before it ended.
“Anyway, what I’m trying to get at is, we’ve been through a lot together… and, I want to go through more. So, Logan Mars…will you marry me?”
Jason broke into a laugh and swiped his eyes, before steadying the camera again.
“Let me know at your earliest convenience. And if not convenient, let me know all the same. I love you, Logan. But I know that’s no mystery to you.”
The video ended on Jason’s half smiling face and Virgil sniffed, not even registering that he had even started crying. He had no reason to cry, really. He didn’t even know Jason, and yet he was crying. Jason had proposed. Logan had been engaged to marry the man he’d lost. It made it even more jarring when Logan spoke next.
   “He didn’t love me though.”
“Are you insane?” Virgil gasped, gesturing to the screen. “He proposed. Isn’t that the very definition of love, Logan? I didn’t know him, but Jason clearly loved you a lot.”
“That’s just it, Virgil.” The man turned and met his eye, “it looked that way to everyone, but I wasn’t enough.”
“Wha- How?”
“Do you know what happened after he recorded that message?” Logan paused but he wasn’t expecting an answer; merely allowing himself the chance to take a breath. “E’s sister had thrown a party at her house for the science majors. I’d just left because Patton wasn’t feeling well and accidentally left my phone behind in my rush. After recording that message, a fire broke out in the house and Jason went in to help get everyone out.”
Silent tears slipped from Logan’s eyes as he spoke, but his voice didn’t waver as he continued; Virgil remaining transfixed by every word.
“He pulled E out of the flames because she passed out in the lounge room; dropping my phone as he left to go back inside. He went back into a burning building, Virgil. The man who just proposed and was safely outside, went back in because he couldn’t leave it alone. His need to save everyone outweighed his love for me.”
Now Logan’s voice broke; no longer holding back his emotions.
“I wasn’t enough. My love wasn’t enough. Why wasn’t I enough for him, Virgil? Why didn’t he love me enough?”
The room froze and Virgil’s lungs stopped working as he was hit with déjà vu. His own voice asking similar questions.
Why wasn’t I good enough for him?
Why doesn’t she love me?
Am I not good enough anymore?
“You are enough.” Virgil demanded, initiating a hug he never thought he would ever willingly engage in. “We both are. Regardless of what others say.”
The words weren’t his own; parroted from a voice of his past that Virgil struggled to believe most days, but today he needed to believe it for Logan’s sake. They both needed to believe it.
Hands gently rubbed each other’s backs, a soothing support for each as their breaths calmed. Silence filled the air the longer they remained pulled close; neither wanting to move while they were raw with emotion.
“You are the first person I’ve shown that video,” Logan whispered; breaking the silence. “I kept his proposal to myself this whole time.”
“Why me now?” Virgil said in confusion, shifting slightly as his muscles ached from being still so long.
“I’m not sure.”
“Do you regret showing me?”
Logan shook his head against Virgil’s shoulder and breathed deeply. Despite his response, part of him posed the same sort of questions - why did he show Virgil? Why was he so eager to share everything with someone who was still an acquaintance? As his mind wondered, the silence stretched on again until a sigh cut through the still air.
“I’m no stranger to loss, Logan.” Virgil whispered; all fear washed away with his tears from earlier. “My only family is an aunt that I’m paying back for bailing me out, so I know what it’s like to feel alone…but you are far from alone.”
As each word was comprehended, Logan found his mind clearing; accepting the words of the man that felt far from a stranger to him.
“You have Patton, and Roman, and Katie, and E and…”
“You?”
Virgil chuckled and gave him a squeeze, “Yeah. I guess you can have me too.”
They stayed together for a moment longer before slowly separating so Logan could grab something softer than the napkins they had on hand to clean up. Virgil picked up his phone and saw his dishevelled face in the reflection, before setting it down on the table and requesting directions to the bathroom.
“Upstairs. It’s pretty easy to spot.”
“Thanks. I’ll, um, be right back.”
Logan sat back down at the computer and continued clicking through photos. He still didn’t understand why he allowed himself to get caught up in the images and reveal so much to Virgil. He was suddenly very aware of how impolite it was to meet someone and show them videos of your deceased partner so you could cry on their shoulder. Confusion aside, he felt a lot better in doing so and Virgil had even opened up slightly. The younger man had obviously lost his family in a way Logan could only assume was outside of the norm, and he was thankful they opened up slightly.
Watching the images flick by, he jumped as Virgil’s phone vibrated on the table. On impulse alone, Logan tilted the phone up to look at the illuminated screen before realising it wasn’t his own. Quickly setting it back down he moved into the kitchen and opened the fridge just as Virgil made his way down the stairs. He hadn’t meant to read the message, but he couldn’t take it back now and Logan knew he couldn’t broach the subject with Virgil. It left him silently shuffling through the kitchen in silence as he mulled over the message’s meaning while Virgil tapped away at the laptop keys.
“Um, I’ve cleaned the drive and it should work fine for you now.” Virgil proclaimed, packing up the materials on the table.
“Thanks…for everything.” Cheeks heating with embarrassment, Logan took the drive from Virgil’s outstretched hand. “I got a little caught up in the moment and wen-”
“It’s fine, Lo.” As Virgil looked up from his bag, a genuine smile spread across his face. “Really. It was…nice and - um - I-I have a question.”
“Oh, sure. What is it?”
Pulling his bag up and over his shoulder, Virgil fiddled with his bag strap nervously and forced his mouth to cooperate.
“I know you’ve got a busy few days ahead, but…would you like to hang out again? At some point.”
“I’d like that.”
Looking at Logan had Virgil’s heart racing and suddenly the voices were back. The woman’s voice disgusted at the idea of a man loving a man. The young men joking and teasing. The woman’s screams of anger. But then there was another.
I will still love him regardless of who he loves. He’s my son. Nothing will change that.
"Logan?" Virgil's voice was suddenly small and quiet, and Logan peered over his glasses in confusion by his sudden change in demeanour. "Can I... Can I hug you? Again."
Though initially taken aback, Logan nodded and closed the gap between them; Virgil dropping his bag strap as he wrapped his arms around Logan’s torso. Their heights weren’t close, so Logan lowered himself slightly to allow Virgil’s head to rest comfortably on his shoulder. The hug was different from what Logan had previously experienced. Not awkward and full of sadness like before. Not dainty like his past girlfriends. It was hardly snuggly like with Patton and nothing like Jason. Jason had been a rock. Firm and supportive. Virgil was... Sturdy and soft. Like he would hold him up but could also crumble at any moment.
The instant Logan’s arms embraced Virgil, he felt safer. The negative voices were silenced and all he heard was the voice of his grandparents. Supportive, accepting and kind. It felt right and for that time, he felt truly safe.
The sound of Logan's phone broke the peace of the moment and Virgil quickly drew back; not wanting to keep the man from checking it. With a sigh, Logan looked at the message on his phone and then back to Virgil.
"I need to go into work for a bit; Maggie isn’t well. I'm sorry, Virgil. This was meant to just be a nice lunch and I-"
"Thank you, Logan."
"What?"
"I think. I think I really needed today."
"Oh. Well, you’re welcome, Virgil."
Lifting his bag back over his shoulder, Virgil smiled up at Logan. "I should get back to the library and do some work befo-"
He was cut off by his phone ringing; Logan noticed Ben's name lighting the screen and the way Virgil’s hands immediately began to tremble. "I've got to go."
"I just have to grab my uniform and I'll drive-"
"It's fine, Lo. I'll walk, I really need to go."
There was a significant shift in Virgil’s tone and demeanour that had Logan very concerned about the message he’d seen earlier.
"Virgil? What’s wrong?"
“Nothing. I’ll catch you later, Lo.”
The door accidentally slammed shut as Virgil rushed out, swiping the screen to answer Ben’s incoming call; leaving Logan alone with seeds of worry taking root in his stomach.
   *************************
"Bless you." Patton maintained a smile as he offered the tissue box to the student that had just covered their worksheet in a spray of saliva. "Cover your mouth next time, please."
"Yes, Mr Smiles."
Ignoring spit and snot was all part of the job in Patton's eyes as he continued to read the questions on the slightly soggy sheet. Working with children was something Patton had known he wanted to do since he was in middle school. It was one part wanting to encourage creativity and another part wanting to be better than some of the teachers he had had. The volunteering he did at the moment did nothing for his bank account, but Patton found he was learning a lot more in those few hours he could manage in a classroom compared to the hours spent on campus.
As the final bell rang, the small group farewelled Patton with hugs before racing out the door and, after bidding the supervising teacher farewell, he soon followed behind. Despite being eager to leave, Patton did make the effort to stop by the staff bathroom and smother his hands in disinfectant; knowing how crippling a cold was for Roman in more ways than one. Leaving the bathroom, the school echoed with the students' yelling and laughter as they flooded the sidewalks to begin their journey home. When Patton finally exited the building, he found himself quickly dodging the kids to reach the man leaning against a tree to the side. Pocketing his phone, Roman looked up just as Patton wrapped their arms around his neck; teasing him with a kiss.
"I come to pick you up and all I get is a lousy kiss on the cheek." Roman pouted.
"There are children present, Ro, and I don't see your valiant steed anywhere to take me away." There was a wicked gleam in Roman's eyes at Patton's words that made him giggle in anticipation. "Unless you've got your car hidden nearby?"
"My car wasn't coming anywhere near these little door bangers." The comment got an eye roll in response, but Roman stepped back and grinned regardless. "However, I will still be picking you up." "Oh no, no, no." Red bloomed on Patton's cheeks as he realised his partners plans. "I can't do that here, Ro." "Why not? It's just a piggyback, Pat. No one will even notice if you don't screech like a banshee. Now hop on."
Patton glanced around nervously as Roman turned and braced himself for him to jump on. Part of him knew it wasn’t professional to behave in such a manner; however, his inner child could not be denied for long and Patton was soon on Roman’s back. Ignoring the few looks of distaste, Roman strode down the path as Patton recalled his day happily in his ear.
It wasn’t long before Patton noticed the change in Roman’s pace; tiring from early morning rehearsals and a shift at work. Knowing he would never admit to his aching muscles, Patton turned his head to whisper towards Roman’s ear.
“Time to put me down, dear prince.”
“What are you talking about?” Roman huffed, shifting his arms to rebalance the weight on his back. “I could do this all the way home.”
“I know you think you can, but you shouldn’t.” Patton said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. “Now, put me down, please.”
It took a bit of wriggling on Patton’s part, but eventually Roman admitted defeat and let the man down. Standing beneath a tree, Patton shook his head as he watched his partner run through a series of stretches.
“Maybe it isn’t a good idea to do stuff like that anymore, Ro. I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“Are you implying that I am too old to give piggyback rides?”
“No,” Patton fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he spoke; feeling guilty as Roman continued to stretch. “But I am. And I know I haven’t kept as fit as Logan sinc-“
“Don’t you dare go there, Patton.”
The use of his name in such a serious tone, had Patton gluing his gaze to the ground. Roman was no stranger to his partners train of thought, and they were about to jump onto a negative track he didn’t want them travelling down.
“Age is but a number and you know how I feel about body image.” Straightening, Roman reached out to lift Patton’s chin and make them meet his soft brown eyes. “I want to carry you around until we’re old and grey.”
“And even then, you will probably still try.”
“You bet I will, because I just love the way it makes you smile.”
Dropping his eyes, Patton smiled as he pictured an elderly Roman trying to lift him from a wheelchair. His thoughts were pulled back as warm lips connected with his own. Lifting his arms to wrap them around Roman’s neck, Patton lent into the kiss and allowed himself to get lost as they automatically responded to each other’s movements.
The serenity of chirping birds was broken by rolling wheels clacking on concrete and children’s laughter was carried through the air. As the noise came closer, a smile pulled Patton’s lips away and he pressed his forehead on Roman’s; breathing deeply as he watched his partners eyes shift behind closed lids.
“I can feel you staring.” A wicked smile spread across Roman’s face and one eye slid open slightly. “You like what you see?”
“Not really,” eyes snapped open as Patton lent back with his own mischievous look, “I’d prefer to see it with a hint of powdered sugar.”
With a wink, Roman knew exactly what Patton was insinuating; they had baking to do.
“What are we waiting for? We have some sugar to acquire!”
Grabbing his partners hand, Roman practically dragged him down the path in excitement; quickly overtaking the group of children that had just past them.
    ****************
As the afternoon began its shift into evening, the meeting members each prepared themselves for the emotional catch up ahead. Ethan finished boxing up mixed sliders for the group just as Roman messaged that he was parked around the side of the diner. The couple had changed clothes following a messy baking session at Roman’s house; kitchen quickly wiped clean to hide their shenanigans from Katie. The sugar scent from the cookies filled Roman’s car and was soon mixed with the diner’s aroma as Ethan climbed inside. Keeping their greetings brief, the music was turned up as the group made their way to the library.
Collecting a cooler bag from the passenger seat, Logan locked his car and headed into the library through the back door. He was surprised to find Katie alone and setting up a picnic rug in the middle of the reading area.
“Hey Katie. Where’s Virgil? I thought he was helping you set up?”
“I was going to ask you about that.” Katie said as she straightened and followed Logan towards the kitchen area. “He called and said he had a friend to visit and he’d do the clean in the morning instead. But, I’m not sure about that.”
“What do you mean?”
“Something was off.”
Logan placed bottles of drink in the fridge and looked over to Katie’s thoughtfully knotted brow.
“How so?”
“Something in the way he spoke. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something definitely wasn’t right. Did everything go okay with you two today?”
“Well… it didn’t go bad.” Sliding the leftovers he had forgotten to give Virgil into the freezer, Logan turned and shrugged at the woman behind him. “There were some… low points. But, otherwise, it was a rewarding experience.”
It didn’t feel right to disclose all that had occurred, and he didn’t see any reason to share the private message he’d seen. Katie didn’t seem convinced and Logan sighed as he took out his phone.
“If you give me his number, I can send him a message and check in.”
“Thought you would have exchanged numbers by now.” She commented, setting her phone to send Logan the contact information he needed.
“I’m not going to feed your little fantasy and respond to that comment.” Logan smiled and sat on a nearby chair to type out a message. “Why don’t you go finish shutting up the front of the library and I’ll set up back here.”
“Sure, Lo. I’ll give you and your phone some privacy then, shall I?” With a wink, Katie headed towards the libraries front to lock up and shut the main computer down for the evening.
Alone at the back, Logan typed out a brief message and waited patiently for a reply.
Logan: Hi Virgil, this is Logan. Thank you again for your assistance today. It was very much appreciated. In our rush this afternoon, I forgot to pass on some additional payment for you. Could we possibly meet at the library tomorrow for me to exchange it?
Virgil: let it go Logan. I don’t need anything else from you.
Logan was unsure of how to interpret the tone of Virgil’s message. There were multiple ways he was able to hear it in his mind. Left to dwell he would have fixated on the negative connotations, but Patton, Roman and Ethan’s entrance pulled him away. Sliding the phone into his pocket, Logan shifted his focus to the friends he had in his company. An overdue meeting was ready to occur.

End Note
Wow, it has been over a month since I updated. Jeepers that’s a bit of a wait. Sorry about that. It may be a similar thing for the next chapter because my idea of updating fortnightly just hasn’t worked out in the long run. Too much untamed creativity and not enough time.
I have mixed feelings about this chapter. I love my analogical, but the royality just isn’t flowing for me at the moment. Not quite sure why.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter and the art by @the-pastel-peach. Now you can get a bit of an idea of how I see Jason. The red streaks were my way of connecting him to Roman (red, Roman, fire – it all relates). I think that might do for commissions for this for now though. I haven’t really got any scenes that stick in my brain (even though I would love to see E and Katie). Don’t forget to like and share Peach’s post if you enjoyed their artwork. Please don’t repost the art yourself, only share posts by Peach or myself.
Thanks again for reading. Happy timezone, friend 💜🐌

ad nauseam (part two)
Tumblr media
part two: two lonely people we were
➷ you had never known the meaning of lovesickness until you had crossed paths with na jaemin.
part one: strangers in the night ❧ part three: up to the moment we said our first hello
warning: cursing, violence.
you’ve been in this town for one day, and you’re already dreading the concept of spending a summer like this.
in a town where everything mirrored the life you had just left, with the exception of the familiar storefronts and neighbourhoods and faces strolling down the sidewalks. you had worked yourself up, your oh-so-big jump, to leap a puddle and land in the corner of the muddy water. you still had the same coast, but different shops. you still had the same red brick buildings lining the main streets, but different names. you still had the same loft apartments over every single business, but with different numbers. you were living in a strange, but parallel universe.
you didn’t know if it was because you had built up your first taste of self-sufficiency, your first taste of the freedom of living away from parents and from the same cracks in the road you had caught your shoe toe in, or if it was because you had unfinished business from the night before, if you can even call that business. it felt more like comfortable anarchy, the wild beat of your heart against the steady beat of the drum fighting the smooth beat of your lips against his.
you didn’t deny that whenever you closed your eyes, you could almost picture yourselves, his arm holding you against him, your heads cradled together, silhouetted against the raging sunset orange fire, blending into one shadow as the orange flicker outlined you. between the crackling of the fire behind you two and the connection of your hearts, you didn’t know what created the sparks that floated in the night sky among the stars. however, you refused to admit that when you had driven past the cliff on your way out, you had spared a glance towards the field where your softly swaying feet had worn another sparse patch into the rocky earth.
you refused to admit that the boy named na jaemin held anything over you but a memory.
but you felt yourself wanting to reverse time and catch him before he slipped away, before he sent you that last glance and molded into the night crowd so seamlessly that made you wonder whether the boy was a human or a figment of your imagination. a guilty conscience trying to hold you back in the place that you had been so relieved to part from.
whoever jaemin was, you refused to admit that the stranger in the night had put another pair of shackles on your rubbed-raw wrists.
but for now, you’d make do in the parallel universe you lived in.
as your feet crossed the threshold from sidewalk to linoleum, you felt the cold push of the frozen air and the sweet wave of ice cream collide with your senses. you inhaled the cream-filled air and walked up to where your new coworker was waiting, his brown hair visible over the cash register as he made eye contact with you and gave you a soft wave, beckoning you to the false countertop which he swung open.
“you came ready in your uniform! i have your apron and name tag in the back, they’re folded just beside the cooler room door,” he said, pointing you down the narrow hallway lined with extra cones and napkin containers. “i’m renjun.”
he pointed to his green and pink name tag, wiggling it and shooting you a toothy smile. he had a small snaggletooth, and you felt yourself smiling back at the soft boy.
“i’ll be y/n, once i get my name tag,” you laughed back, walking past him to grab your apron and name tag and put them on, renjun coming up behind you to tie the top strap of your white cloth covering.
you thanked him and slid the pin of your lacquer name tag onto the thin white cloth, and you presented yourself to a renjun who gave you a thumbs up and another smile. he showed you the ropes quickly, the cleaning of the scoops and how to work the new electronic register. you learned that his dad owned the shop and that him and his older brother ran it now that his father was getting older. his older brother was named kun, and he was the manager that only worked the night shifts while renjun worked the days. it was obvious how much he knew about this shop and the way it had been run for years, that it was both ice cream and blood that flowed through the sweet boy’s veins.
“one more thing,” renjun says, only after he’s decided your scooping is satisfactory.
“yeah, shoot,” you respond, taking a bite of your final cone product so that the ice cream wouldn’t go to waste.
“uh, because of our… location beside the beach, we draw a pretty sketchy crowd around the early afternoons. don’t let them phase you, okay? they’re harmless, mostly.” he rubs the back of his neck and you smile, biting the rest of your sugar cone and throwing the paper shell into the trash below the counter.
“renjun, don’t worry. i’ll be okay,” you smile, giving him a thumbs up as you go to open up the shop.
renjun had told you that it was the newbie’s initiation to flip the paper ‘open’ sign and officially start their first workday at green rose ice cream parlour. you appeased him, despite your complete disinterest in the small rituals that he seemed to value so highly. you didn’t want to make your boss think of you as flippant, as disrespectful or uncooperative, and you didn’t want to make the soft looking boy upset. so you flip the open sign as the clock hits ten and immediately spot a few groups of people make their way towards the cute shop perched a street away from the tourist-filled beach.
you slipped into your place back behind the glass walls and tubs of ice-cream and took your position at the cash register, ready to ring up the first customers of the day while renjun crafted his beautiful cones. you fell into a rhythm for a while, the soft jingle of the radio a backing track as you called out order after order to the boy who whipped the cream into the wafer and passed it to the waiting customer, over and over again.
until the next ring of the door’s bell signified something so much more than another customer you’d have to serve.
they didn’t come to the register or browse the flavours, not even take a peak at the menu. they slid into a table that had remained unoccupied, almost as if they owned it, and burst into a jubilant conversation. they looked so out of place in their dark attire amongst the green tables and pink chairs, yet they blended into the scene as if they had been placed there purposefully by a hand designing a piece of art, so stark of a contrast, so different of people from who you would see in a parlour with twice playing from the loudspeakers. and yet here they were.
you stared at them, black paint splotches on a pastel canvas, until one of them flicked his eyes to you and you averted quickly, staring at the green and pink background of the desktop cash register. you didn’t even notice the single jingle of the bell echo through the shop, the racing of your thoughts creating a maelstrom in your head that blocked out the small sounds.
“uh, hello?” a voice called out, and you could have sworn you had heard that timbre before.
you flicked your eyes up and your mouth gaped. you quickly shut it and took a breath in through your nose. na jaemin, tattoos clear as day against his tanning skin, stood in front of you, gaze hooked on yours and his eyes the width of someone who was shocked yet trying to bury that surprise under a layer of confidence and nonchalance. you scoffed and plastered a thicker version of that on your face, a version of that meant for someone who had screwed you over without even knowing he had done anything, who had caused a snag in your heart that you refused to acknowledge as more of a fondness for a memory.
he’s just a stranger, after all.
you owed nothing to someone who treated your heart like it had strings.
“hi, what can i get for you?” you gritted out, shifting on your feet and starting a new order on the screen.
“a single scoop of pralines and cream on a sugar cone, please?” he asked musingly, drumming his fingers on the top of the glass.
you nodded and hummed, inputting the order and hovering over the ‘complete’ button.
“will that be all for you today?” you responded, not wanting to bring your eyes up to meet his again, not after the first time.
“no, actually. i know it’s not on the menu, but i would like a fresh order of ‘explanation’,” he laughed out, and you leaned back and crossed your arms, bringing your gaze up to his again.
“what do i need to explain to you, na jaemin?” you spat out, huffing. “it’s not like you really were interested in what i had to say about anything.”
“what are you doing here?” he pressed, and you laughed dryly before completing his order and calling it out to renjun, who watched you two interact, enrapt.
“i’m working. now, if you’d go collect your cone down with renjun, that would be swell,” you grumbled, gesturing for him to move along.
he simply looked at you and leaned further over the table, and you caught the roman numerals along his collarbone when his tank top dipped further down.
“i thought you lived a few towns over,” he questioned, more suspicion climbing into his voice than before.
he was cracking.
“yeah, well, a lot of things can change in such little time,” you shot back, tilting your head and nodding towards renjun. “your cone is melting.”
renjun hadn’t even taken the cone out yet.
“y/n, listen, if you’re mad about —“
he used your name.
he knew.
“i’m not mad about anything,” you gritted out. “i’m just swell. go pick up your cone, thanks for coming.”
“y/n!” he hissed out as you turned around, slamming his fist on the top of the glass.
you spun around, and you saw the hurt in his eyes. but you also saw two of the boys from the table behind him slide back in their chairs and climb to their feet. one of them pulled off jaemin’s baseball cap and tossed it to you, and jaemin’s carob locks flopped down in a haphazard pool on the top of his head.
the other boy grabbed his shirt and yanked him forward, leaning in and pushing him closer and closer to the wall.
“leave the girl alone,” the first boy grunted. “or i’ll make you.”
he sneered. the other boy did too.
“she’s obviously not into you and whatever you guys did together, and honestly? looking at you, shrimp? i can’t blame her.” the second boy laughed and placed his hand on the first boy’s shoulder as he held jaemin in an iron grip. “she’s cute, right? the way she stands is so confident, so detached, i’d like to tame her for a night. i’d treat her so good, she’d forget anything you two did toge—“
you absently let out a cry as you watched jaemin’s fist swung up and connected with the first boy’s nose, the crack filling the tense air of the room. you heard renjun drop the cone in his hand, and jaemin didn’t stop. he swung up and hit the second boy, jab after jab until the other two boys from the table were on him too and he was kicking and grabbing collars and snapping noses. you couldn’t bring yourself to do anything but watch as the boy you had kissed two days ago beat the ever-loving shit out of four grown boys. when the first punch was landed on his face, he snapped back and the tables turned. the boys launched themselves on top of him, and he was swallowed by a pile of flying arms and kicking legs and brutal sounds of broken skin breaking skin. you screamed again and slid out under the counter, hearing renjun’s cry of dismay and fright, and you yelled out at the top of your lungs for this to stop, stop, stop.
it only stopped when you put yourself into the fight, pulling one of the boys off of a bloody jaemin who was curled on the ground, who spit out a shot of blood as the other boys backed off slowly. you slid yourself in between jaemin and the retreating boys, and you wiped off the smudge of blood you had gotten on your hands.
you stared at your hands, then up to the four boys with bloody noses and bruised eyes. they all stared back, some with confidence, some with fear and all of them with mirthless contempt.
you imagined you looked the exact same, your hands balled into fists at your sides and your eyes set in a glare.
“get out!” you yelled, and the boys didn’t move.
“get the hell out, you creeps,” renjun shouted, voice enthusiastic with a slight twinge of adrenaline. you didn’t expect that.
that’s when the boys nodded and picked their bloody faces up, running one by one out the door, taking the jingles of the little silver bell with them.
you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding and dropped your head into your hands, sighing shakily before turning back to jaemin who was pulling himself to his feet.
“uh, y/n, do you — uh, do you want to patch him up in the back break room? i have a lot of first aid stuff, there was an accident with a scooper and someone’s eye a while ago that we don’t talk about,” renjun asked, and you heard the concern in his voice.
you looked back to jaemin, who was on his feet and limping to the table where he rested his body weight on his leaning hand. his eyes were already bloodshot and swelling, and you felt your heart climb in your throat as you catalogued every visible injury on the boy’s body.
he was defending you, your heart called out. he fought the creeps because they talked about you.
he was violent, your mind called out. he was impulsive, but you knew that already. he was just like you.
no matter how many times you tried to repeat it to yourself, you knew. when your heart spiralled, so did your head, and you had always been irresponsible when your feelings and thoughts didn’t sync up. you had always been impulsive, always been someone who had never totally understood your heart and your head. you’d always had one foot in love and the other in logic.
your feet were getting further and further apart.
you nodded to renjun and grabbed onto jaemin, pulling his arm over your shoulder and bringing him back into the break room. renjun followed and opened the first aid cabinet, and you thanked him as he ran back out to the front to go greet customers. you set jaemin down on the foldable chair that sat beside a matching table, and he laughed as you pulled down a kit from the cupboard.
“why are you laughing?” you asked, dragging another chair beside him to rest on as you began to dab a cotton ball with peroxyde on it onto his open cuts.
“i don’t know,” he laughed out, and you huffed as he continued to laugh when you put bandaids and steristrips on his face cuts.
“then stop,” you growled.
he stopped, raising a hand gingerly to tilt your chin up and meet his eyes.
“i really fucked up, didn’t i?” he said, more to himself than you. “i really fucked up when i walked away, i fucked up when i didn’t ask your name. to be honest, i didn’t think i’d see you again, and i was so ready to have my heart broken by you if i had asked. but i didn’t, and that was so smart of me, and i felt so bad that i was weak and told you my name, because now i’m someone to you, and i disappeared and i hurt you. so i really fucked up not asking anything, but i think i’ve fucked myself over so much more now that i know, now that we’re not strangers in the night.”
you didn’t dare break eye contact, and you dropped your hand from where it held the cotton ball on his shoulder back to your lap. you felt the rough skin of his knuckle turn under your chin as he rolled his lips over his teeth and sighed.
“just tell me how i can make it better,” he asked, and he pulled your head a bit closer with the crook of his finger under your head.
you weren’t going to stand down, you weren’t going to admit to anything, you weren’t going to admit a boy who was a stranger in the night became someone who you know. someone who you allowed to know you, someone who you allowed in past your walls and into your head with the reckless, destructive, confused thoughts that filled it. you would not let the boy who disappeared into the fog of pot and cigarettes and god-knows-what to have any say over what you felt, not when he turned his back on you.
one foot in logic.
“can i make it better? can i fix this?” he asked, and you let him.
you let him move closer to you and press his lips to yours, and you let the cotton ball that was pink with his blood drop to the floor. you let his lips find that rhythm again, let him cup your jaw and tilt your head to slot your noses together, and you let him kiss you and map out every corner of your lips. you didn’t stop him, and you didn’t want to, your heart didn’t want to remove your lips from his in fear that he’d turn his back on you again.
one foot in love.
you kept your hands in your lap, you twiddled your thumbs and ran your fingertips over the ridges of your nails, you kept them everywhere but on him. you thought that if you had kept your hands off him, had kept your hands away from the smooth feeling of his skin and away from the ink of his tattoos that you felt you could rub off with the pads of your fingers even though you knew that wasn’t true, you wouldn’t get yourself connected to him. you wouldn’t let a boy with a bloody taste on his tongue leave that on you, that memory, that imprint, if you didn’t let your hands wander or climb the stalk of his neck and trace the bumps of his spine like you had already. if you didn’t let him hold you by the waist and run his fingers where your shirt had ridden up and your soft, warm skin had hit the air, you wouldn’t connect yourself to the boy who had turned his back on you.
things didn’t work that way, not anymore, because it didn’t take one kiss to fall in love with someone. it took two and you had so foolishly stumbled into his trap, his lips and his gaze and his charming voice pulling you into him and refusing to let you go.
you broke it off a few seconds, minutes, hours later and drew back, standing to pick up the soiled cotton ball and walk it over to the trash in the corner of the room.
you had a pit in your stomach, because you knew that if you turned your back on the boy, you might never see him again. you might never feel him again. you might never taste the iron on his lips again. but you turned. you turned your back on the boy who was watching you from the foldable chair and you walked away, walked to the corner instead of throwing the ball. you turned your back. this time, you turned your back.
why did you turn?
when you spun back around, na jaemin had taken a handful of bandages, the cotton balls and hydrogen peroxide, and he was gone, chair empty and the air he had occupied empty. the baseball cap that you had brought in and set on the cabinet ledge was gone too.
you were convinced na jaemin was no more than a shadow who haunted you, a figment of your imagination.
was he just a stranger?
if only you could predict the future, read the cards it held. you’d be so much more worried. you were already sick to your stomach.

11 Questions
I was tagged by both @jiyamarrii & @chasethesun18 to do this, so I’ll be answering 22 questions. But I love these things so I’m totally okay with it LOL. Anyway, let’s get started!
Laura’s Questions
1. Marvel or DC? TV-Verse or Film-Verse? Why? — The easy answer to this question is that I like all superhero stuff. I tend to watch more Marvel, but I’m a big fan of both. MCU? Yes please. Smallville? Sign me up. I haven’t watched the Marvel Netflix shows yet, but I really want to. Cloak and Dagger on Freeform is pretty good so far! I watched the first two seasons of Arrow and most of the Flash, but since the CW added all the other DC shows to their programming, I’ve been a little overwhelmed, but they’re still good! So yeah, long story short, I like it all :)
2. I’m looking for new TV shows to watch. Recommend me a show and tell me why you think I’d like it. — I can’t remember if you’ve watched Gilmore Girls or not, but I recommend it to everyone who wants something funny and heartwarming, but heartbreaking sometimes, too. Lorelai is my SPIRIT ANIMAL. Otherwise, I recommend Lost in Space on Netflix if you’re into Sci-Fi stuff (it’s also funny, and the characters are amazing). One Tree Hill is amazing if you’re into soapy teen dramas (like 90210 or Gossip Girl). The awesome thing about OTH though, is that it’s obviously drama, but it deals with other serious topics and it isn’t bitchy like GG. The characters are all different in their own way, and it’s my favorite teen drama show of all time.
3. Watch a random episode of Timeless. Tell me your opinions on the episode and I’ll try to guess which episode you watched. — Okay, so I know each episode like the back of my hand, so let’s go. It’s my second favorite episode of the entire show. The music is A+. (You’ve probably already guessed it by now lolol.) It has one of my top 5 favorite Lucy outfits. I’ve seen this episode so many times I’m pretty sure I can almost recite it word for word (and I’m not sorry about that).
4. Do you have a skin care routine? If yes, what is it? — Not really. I don’t use much on my skin to tell you the truth. I use the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing green tea scrub every other day, and once in a while I’ll use a Biore charcoal pore strip. Other than that I don’t use anything.
5. What are your favorite pair of shoes? Why? — This might sound completely childish, but I LOVE my shoes that have daisies on them. I got them at Payless, and they’re Minnie Mouse brand, but they’re black with little daisies printed on them and I love them so much. I need a new pair soon because they’re a few years old and they’re worn, but I love them to death.
6. What is your phone wallpaper? What is your desktop wallpaper? — My lock screen on my phone is a picture I found on Google Images of Timeless. It’s blue and has the Time Team and the Timeless logo with a cloud. My home screen on my phone is a cotton candy-esque background. My desktop wallpaper is the Timeless edit I made with the Taylor lyric “Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it.”
7. If you could have dinner with one person, dead, alive, or fictional, who would it be and why? — I really want to say Lorelai Gilmore (or anyone from Gilmore Girls, honestly..) for this one. Eating at Luke’s Diner? Yes. Please. I’m all in.
8. What’s your favorite smell? Why? — This is very oddly specific, but I have this notebook that I got for Christmas last year. And every book/notebook/paper smells good, but THIS NOTEBOOK. It’s my favorite kind of paper smell. I know, it’s weird, but it’s amazing. Otherwise I love lemon, vanilla, and peppermint scents and the smell of the grill when we grill hamburgers/hot dogs.
9. Do you have any tattoos? If yes, what are they? Do you regret any of them? — I do not have any tattoos, but I want to get one in the near future.
10. What is your horoscope for today? —  Jun 11, 2018 - You enjoy caring for others and you intervene regularly in their lives to guide them. Ironically, today you're the one who needs advice. You'll probably need to get away from it all in order to get a clear view of your own life, Leo. You could even decide to make the necessary arrangements for a trip abroad.
11. Beards: Yes or No? — UM YES.
Tumblr media
(OBVIOUSLY I NEEDED TO INCLUDE WYATT’S MAGICAL BEARD)
I also love Xavier from No Tomorrow, Hugh Jackman, and John Krasinski. Their beards are also pretty magical.
Ryan’s Questions
1. If a book becomes a movie do you read it or watch it first? — Most of the time I don’t realize a movie was a book until after I see it. And then I always end up liking the movie better. (IE the Twilight saga) I always try to read the book first, but sometimes I’ll just watch the movie.
2. What’s your favorite Disney movie? — OOH OKAY LET’S GO. Tangled is my favorite all-animated Disney movie. Meet the Robinsons comes at a second. Enchanted is my all-time favorite Disney movie EVER. My Favorite Martian is my favorite all-non-animated Disney movie. Also The Princess Diaries comes at a close second.
3. If you could have one superpower what would it be? — If I got to choose I would want to have telekinesis. Matilda has solidified that dream LOL.
4. Do you believe in soul mates? — I’m not sure, to tell you the truth. I don’t like to think that there’s only ONE person in the entire world that I’m meant to be with, and that they’re my other half. I mean, it’s a nice concept, but also I feel like I would just be too worried that I won’t ever meet my soulmate because it could literally be anyone in the entire universe. I’m meh on the subject.
5. What’s your happiest memory? — Honestly I think my most happy memories are when I was really little, like in early elementary school? Like, ages 5-11 is when I think I was most happy. And don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy now and whatever, but I have more responsibility now and I was more carefree back then. One memory that sticks out is Christmas of 2010. I got my DSi XL and I was at my grandparents house with all of my cousins. We played around on the DS and took pictures, and I still have them saved on it. The very first picture I ever took on it. It was just such a happy time for me, and I love thinking back on it.
6. Most embarrassing memory? — I threw up in front of my entire classroom in 4th grade. It was terrible. And it happened so long ago, but I still can’t get over the fact that there are people my age who saw me throw up on the floor of our classroom. Nope. Let me go hide forever LOL.
7. Where do you see yourself in five years? — I don’t really like to plan that far ahead into the future, but in five years I’d like to be moved out of my parents’ house and working on getting my book published. (I’m still working on writing it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll be done with it by then and in the process of finding it a home.)
8. Who is/has been the most influential person in your life? — I have to go with my parents on this one. But only personality-wise. I’m not interested in what my parents do for a living, but I try to model my work-ethic and values after them. I’ve obviously grown my own personal tastes, but I see more of myself in them every day and I’m very proud of that.
9. If you could time travel to the start of this year and tell yourself something what would you tell yourself? — You won’t have everything figured out yet, and that’s okay. You’ll be pressured, but take things at your own pace. There’s nothing wrong with taking time to figure things out, no matter what everyone is telling you. You’ll get to where you want to be, you just have to take your time, and set your own pace.
10. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? — Wow, okay, this is going to sound lame. Are y’all ready? I stole a toy camera from Goodwill when I was, like, 6. I wanted it but I didn’t think my dad would let me, so I hid it in my coat pocket and never told anyone. That was literally the first thing that came to mind..
11. What’s your favorite thing about yourself? — I love that I don’t waver in my enjoyment of things. My sister mainly, always makes fun of me for wearing what I wear, for reading, and for listening to the kind of music that I listen to, but I’m very proud of all of those things and I don’t let it bother me. Yeah, it gets annoying when she tells me my taste in music sucks, but I will very happily listen to Two Weeks Late by Ashley Monroe at a high volume and sing along proudly. No shame. As Jessica Day so proudly states, “I break for birds! I rock a lot of polka-dots. I have touched glitter in the past twenty-four hours. I spend my entire day talking to children. And I find it fundamentally strange that you’re not a dessert person. That’s just weird and it freaks me out. And I’m sorry I don’t like Murphy Brown, and I hate your pantsuit; I wish it had ribbons on it or something to just make it slightly cuter. And that doesn’t mean I‘m not smart and tough and strong.”
Thanks for the tag, guys! This was fun :)

The elementary OS 6 beta version has released
Elementary OS 6 beta version has released with its codename Odin for developers to try and do testing and experiments. The elementary team has been performing on these updates for one year currently, giving us a peek of all the new updates and features coming to the new release in their blog now that the beta releases out. I'm really excited to check out all those new features in a live system now.
The elementary OS 6 relies on Ubuntu 20.04 (LTS) it uses Xorg as its default display server rather than Walen that several alternative distros are using in 2021. elementary is conversant in its pantheon desktop environment.
Tumblr media
Installation of Beta Version
I don't recommend anyone use these bleeding-edge Early Access builds on their day-to-day laptop as there may be possibilities of breaking problems due to the nature of early development. Beta releases are snapshots of Early Access builds once the developer platform has stable. At this time, I like to recommend solely developers begin building and testing their apps on this elementary OS.
I still caution against using beta releases on your daily driver. (better to use on USB Flash)
For previous versions of elementary OS, the installation was handled by ubuntu's installer however now elementary has teamed up with the System-76 team to form a fresh installer that shares the identically simplified yet elegant design aesthetic of elementary OS. This new installer of the elementary OS has the text on the left aspect with corresponding choices on the right side within which the first possibility is to pick the system language.
Select your language, Mine it's English thus I will choose English to go to the subsequent step.
Choose your language, in line with my native English I select the United States within the Language category and then press next.
Select your keyboard layout thus you'll select whichever is suitable here then we'll head to the next step.
As it is the beta version I choose to attempt the demo mode so you can get into a live environment (You can do a clean install, To go to clean install press clean install, and then choose the drive which you are going to use the SSD. It will do an erase and install. or you can also choose custom installation where you can select custom drive partition to be erased if you are using multi-boot configurations)
Once it's finished and that is it the installation has complete and revive.
In the last part, we're going to create our user accounts so we're going to log in and start our new Elementary OS 6.
Next, we have welcome to elementary OS choose your look so here we have the light and the dark themes as well as the accent colors you can choose any of your choices, next location services where you can enable or disable it.  Next, night light as well so you can change the color temperature of your screen. Then we get the housekeeping option so we can automatically delete unwanted or trashed files after 30 days to save space.
New features of forthcoming Elementary OS 6 (Beta)
On the primary run, you may get a caution that you are using an early access build which should not be used in a production environment.  By moving further to the desktop view you may not notice any difference from the previous version of Elementary OS, because the icon package remains identical. however, there are several refined changes to the desktop, initial is that the system font that is ‘Inter’ font now, that has been changed from the previous ‘Open Sans’ font whereas both fonts are looks similar at first glance and therefore you may not notice this change but there's a change in the text rendering settings from RGB to grayscale so the text has more contrast and is little easier to read.
In the Pantheon desktop environment at the top, we have our top panel which is completely transparent by default but we can go into the system settings and set it to a solid color. in the center of our panel, we have a little clock with date and time, if we press that we can then expose the full calendar and events on this day and we can jump straight into the date and time settings from here. At the top right, we have a power button for things like our reboot, shutdown, user account settings, lock screen, and all such things. The notification center has been fully modified with a replacement of the notification server; it currently shows separate bubbles for every notification beneath the notification menu.
On the desktop we have a simple right-click option where we can change the wallpaper, can go into the display settings and the system settings. At the bottom of the screen, we have a dock which is fulfilled by plank and if we go control right click and go straight into the preferences it's pretty much a standard plank installation apart from you don't have the option to do the icon zoom or zoom on hover on elementary OS theming.

elementary OS 6 Lite Theme

elementary OS 6 Dark Theme
Another new setting that enables you to more personalize the desktop is that the new accent color possibility under the appearance tab. With these settings, you can change the color of highlighted text toggle switches and various elements of the desktop there are 10 different accent colors available to choose from.
Another amendment we will notice within the corner of windows for applications currently we've got rounded corners rather than straight edges.
Apart from that, the other major change is that the new dark mode. Currently, dark mode is something accessible in every major Linux distros nowadays. it was there in elementary's previous release as well but the implementation was a little different in elementary 5.1 there was a toggle switch on each and every application to set it to dark mode currently in elementary OS 6 the toggle for the individual app is gone and now you have an option for a system-wide dark mode which is in the appearance tab under desktop settings this makes the entire desktop the menus background of application dock everything to a darker background the dark theme is implemented pretty well and gives the distro a total new trendy look.
The next change is that the multi-touch gestures if you have a laptop then you may notice this feature pretty helpful support for multi-finger gestures started with the release of Gnome 40 and currently all major distros are using this features in their 2021 releases, elementary OS isn't a bleeding-edge distro and therefore the latest technology isn't accessible immediately however we are lucky that elementary os 6 has been enclosed this feature. One difference between the implementation of multi-finger gestures on an alternative Linux distro compared with the elementary OS is that with gnome desktop there is not any choice to customize these gestures. However, in elementary 6 you'll customize these gestures from the gesture settings under the mouse and touchpad.
We can notice a few major software packages, flat pack for app center, the flat pack is a new packaging format for Linux app built to simplify app installation in Linux distro the aim is to have one standard package format that works in all Linux distro now with the flat pack for app center all elementary packages are moving from dev format to flat-pack packaging format and support for the flat-pack, is available by default but these apps are hosted on elementary's own flat-pack repository and not on the flat-hub which is the app store for flat-pack packages there are multiple benefits of using flat-pack packages.
Now files app has a replacement navigation mode currently this dual-action for a click rather than double click single click on a folder can open the folder except for opening files or running app you have to use double click, the hybrid action on the mouse will improve your navigation in files app making it faster the overall design of the files app is also more flat now.
In the settings app section where there are many changes some classes are fully redesigned as an example the about category is replaced by a system that provides you information on system hardware and computer firmware with links to update the system. The HIDPS scaling under display setting currently provides us an extra 3x scaling possibility for a better resolution screen and of course, the desktop category has a lot of changes in appearance, and the dock all are redesigned to add new features and the hot corners are replaced by a multitasking tab.
Conclusion:
elementary OS 6 beta version has released solely for developers and not for users. The final stable release of elementary OS is yet to come, this is often the beta release for developers and still contains few bugs and there are several broken things so I’m not providing any review on the performance facet. Major changes you can expect during this release are Dark Theme, Flat Pack for App center, Fonts and Typography, Stylesheets, Multi-Touch Gesture, and few package changes besides some swish appearance and feel. As I said I will check out each feature in detail and let you know when the stable release will come.

survey by painted-skylines
Best movie soundtrack ever: I’ve always vouched for The Twilight Saga’s soundtracks because their OSTs genuinely did pop the fuck off; but out of the five movies, my favorite would probably be New Moon’s.
What was your favorite Disney movie as a kid? It’s always been Toy Story, and it’s never changed even after watching my fair share of Disney movies through the years.
Have you seen it since? Many times. I try to do at least one rewatch every year.
If I looked through your phone right now, what would I find? A ridiculous amount of photos of V on my camera roll, my different work chats, and conversations between myself and Angela that would probably be tagged as NSFW because we’re comfortable around each other like that, lol.
Do you brush your teeth in the bathroom, or do you get bored & roam around? I just stay by the sink.
Reggae or Ska? Ska, if anything. I used to listen to ska punk.
What time did you wake up today? Like 6:15. I’ve started automatically waking up at 6 AM a week ago for no reason, regardless of how late I sleep the night before. Which is fine, I guess, since I’ve developed a knack of starting work by around 8 anyway; the 2-hour gap is the perfect time to have time for myself before another shift.
Why's the summer going by so fast? It’s not summer yet, but I will agree that time seems to be flying by in general. I’m well aware it’s because I do nothing but work all week, but I actually find the monotony quite relaxing for now so I’m not complaining.
What'll you be doing this 4th of July? That issssss a Sunday, so idk. Probably relaxing at home – or if quarantine protocols have loosened by then I will probably back in a coffee shop.
Are you allowed to wear shorts or tanktops at your school? We're not. In my university, yeah. I always wore tank tops then.
When's the last time you brushed your teeth? Around a half hour ago right after I showered.
Are you a picky-eater? Not at all. I will only be picky around fruits or viands I already dislike, like adobo or sinigang.
How many songs are there in your iTunes? I don’t have an iTunes anymore, and Spotify doesn’t work that way.
How many bands? -
Are you a candle-fanatic? I’m getting there, but I’ve had to park that interest in favor of my new BTS addiction HAHAHAHAHA. My online shopping cart went from Bath & Body Works candles to BTS albums stupidly fast.
How do you feel about incense? Not a fan.
I didn't spell that right, did I? You didn’t, but I corrected it because it was bothering me lol. Now anyone else who might take this survey will never know.
Do you know anyone that kind of looks like an animal? Aren’t we all animals though?
Are you ruthless? That wouldn’t be a word I’d use on myself.
What's your couch look like at home? It’s L-shaped and grey, and quite comfy.
When's the last time you were at a playground? 7 months ago when I went to an abandoned playground during one of my depressive episodes – it was to get some air out of the house after a million job rejections and a crumbling relationship. I don’t think I’ll be going to that playground any time soon.
Does your city/town have a little festival/carnival every year? We probably do but I just can’t care less for it.
Do you attend? Nope.
Have you ever been to an apple-orchard? I don’t know what that is.
Were there any cartoons your parents didn't let you watch as a kid? My mom was heavily critical of Mr. Bean (both versions) which I guess is kinda understandable, but we always watched it whenever she wasn’t home.
Do you need to clean your room? I think I need to go beyond cleaning and rearrange it altogether. It’s starting to look dreary to me, and I’ve been meaning to spruce it up with some floating shelves and a bigger work desk.
What's your favorite color? Pastel pink.
No one ever really changes. They just get better at hiding their flaws. True or false? No? People can change.
Have you ever been to New York City? No.
Do you still have a bicycle? Do you ever still ride it? We have a family-owned bicycle. I don’t know how to ride bikes though, so really only my parents use it.
Have you ever carved your name, or anything into a tree or a bench? I don’t think so. The few times I vandalized, the last thing I did was make it obvious I was the culprit.
What's your favorite ice-cream flavour? Cookies and cream, coffee, or chocolate chip cookie dough.
Have you ever had pecan divinity? Literally have never heard of that before.
Cotton candy or nachos? Nachos.
Is your MySpace page private? I don’t have one.
Do you drink milk? I drink it if I encounter milk, which happens rarely.
Would you rather see Death At A Funeral or Get Him To The Greek? Idk, neither sound interesting and I don’t even know what these are.
Have you ever had to clean a college kid's dorm room? Nah. I’ve never been inside a dorm room, actually. The most I’ve reached is the lobby of Laurice and Jo’s dorm building whenever I’d pick them up, since that’s the only place visitors were let in.
What's your favorite kind of candy-bar? Eh, I prefer a certain brand of peanut butter cups.
When's the last time you hugged a family member? Fuck if I know. Can Cooper be counted as family? I literally just took a break from this survey to cuddle him for a bit.
Or are you more of a ''don't touch me'' kind of person? It’s not that I’m not physically affectionate; I’m just not particularly so with my family.
Could you handle motherhood? At this point, no. I want other things first.
Well what about if your child's EXACTLY like you, could you handle that? They’d be a pain in the ass during their puberty years, but I think I would be able to handle the rest of me.
Have you ever been wakeboarding? Not yet. Angela and I have been planning it this year but there hasn’t been any opportunity yet.
What's the sky look like? It’s black and a little cloudy. No stars tonight.
Are you multi-tasking right now? Kinda, considering my focus levels hahaha. I’m trying to take this survey but I’m also listening to music, and so far I’ve stopped typing to dance in my seat 45793847375359 times.
How many pairs of flipflops do you own? None of my own, but we have a couple ones by the front door for anyone’s use, just in case anyone needs to go out to briefly take out the trash or whatever.
Are you any good at basketball? Not at all. I don’t even know the mechanices beyond making the ball go inside the hoop.
Are you any good at sports in general? I can play table tennis. I suppose I’m just a notch below playing competitively; I can do a decent rally and I’m usually able to smash properly when I feel like it.
Would you rather have a bulldog puppy or a husky puppy? Any kind of puppy is fine with me.
Do you have any stuffed animals? If you do, what are they? No.
Is any of this Go Green stuff really gonna make a significant difference? Of course.
Are you good at making up excuses or lies on the spot? If the need be, yes. But I try to avoid lying as much as possible.
Is Mr. Hudson attractive? Idk who you’re referring to.
The last time you snuck out, what were you going to do? I told my mom I’ll just be withdrawing from the bank when I was really meeting up with Angela so she could return my mom’s absolute favorite abaca mat that I secretly lent her for her grad shoot.
Were you into the whole Harry Potter thing when it was popular? Not really. I read the books after all the movies had already come out, but I didn’t finish the whole set.
Do you think Rupert Grint's cute? Not personally.
Have you ever rode a horse? Yeah.
What's something cute to wear with leggings? For me, I’d pair it with an oversized shirt.
Tye-dye or floral? Floral. I never was a fan of tie-dye.
What's the weirdest thing you've ever ate? A couple of weeks ago my mom said she was gonna make cordon bleu, but the final result was anything but hahaha. I still have no idea what it is she made, but at least it was edible.
What's your desktop wallpaper? It’s just a photo of some mountains that already comes as one of the provided backgrounds on my laptop.
What's your wallpaper on your cell? Lock screen is of Kim Taehyung, home screen is a BTS group photo.
17th contact; Jeuel, a guy I went to college with.
Do you know anyone in the military? I don’t think so.
Are you ashamed to admit that you like Ke$ha? ...Is there a reason I should be?
Is there anything you wanna say to someone right now? Not really.
Pancakes, or waffles? (: Waffles.
