In your opinion how would have affected the family if Bruce hadn't return as soon maybe Tim didn't find the picture and Bruce come back by himself 2 or five years laters. Dick made such a huge impact in Damian's life in the short time they were together. How different would have been if they had spend more time together and how would the others come around. Dick wanted to adopt Damian in canon but never did it because Bruce came back and he was afraid of taking that role. Would he adopt him and would that change how Damian sees Jason and Tim? and the same for them. Do they see him as his brother or like his brother's son? Also, how would Bruce react to all of this changes. Would Dick return to bludhaven and if he did would he take Damian with him. Also, what changes would there be between Tim, Jason and Dick relationship in this scenario.
Dick would have definitely adopted Damian and good for them.
How Jason and Tim would treat Damian depends on what their relationship was like before Bruce died. If someone works off of the "Jason and Damian met in the League" idea, then they probably would still be brothers regardless of what their respective relationships are with Dick. Sometimes, family isn't always clear cut to have labels make sense. I personally consider my stepsiblings to be more like cousins than siblings.
Tim and Damian probably wouldn't see each other as family for a while. I've seen a few fics that address how their tension and fights lead to them not considering each other as brothers until they become closer. Laws don't dictate relationship statuses. Effort and communication do. After Damian gets Robin, Tim probably distanced himself from the family. If he doesn't find the portrait, he probably still moves out of the house and keeps low contact with the other Bats. Maybe he joins Cass for a bit. Maybe he takes over WE. I like to think that he either claims a section of the city like Jason does, or he does specialty cases (like rogues, serial killers, rings, etc.) instead of patrolling with the Bats.
Dick is overwhelmed with being Batman and with being Damian's parent. He'd eventually get the hang of things and then start to reach out to the other Bats again. It would take time, but they would probably get there.
Maybe Tim and Jason start getting along, or maybe Tim even takes Jason up on that offer to join him. Either that, or they mutually avoid/ignore each other unless they have to interact.
Now, Bruce in canon wouldn't have lasted too much longer in the timestream. However, in this AU, maybe he's just chilling on a beach in time, or maybe he just gets shot two years into the future.
When Bruce returns, that fucks up the established dynamics and the peace the family was slowly moving to. Dealer's choice on how Bruce reacts. If he's a good dad, he'll understand and try to navigate the new relationships. Bruce and Dick would share parenting. If he's a shit dad, he'd go nuclear and fuck Dick up.
If you want me to expand or anything, let me know!

Xander and Gigi head cannons pls?
of course<3. they will literally be the best duo imaginable. i can feel it. not proof read so i apologize if anything doesn't make sense. hope you like them <3. @catapparently helped a bit with this one.
they will literally prank everyone all the damn time. they have a white board filled with prank ideas. (they once replaced jamie's alcohol with disgusting juice mixes they made. jamie ended up barfing for an entire day)
gigi is into robotics and stuff but doesn't know much about it. xander will sit with her for hours a day trying to explain everything to her.
they love playing twister for some odd reason. they're always trying to beat each other's scores.
xander is one of the only people (if not the only person) who gives her coffee voluntarily.
gigi loves lemon flavored scones and xander loves the blueberry ones, so they're always debating and fighting over who is right. (their debates get so intense. once, xander ended up in the pool naked (don't ask me how))
they comment on each other's posts saying things like "omg slay girl boss you ate that up" and stuff like that
when they gossip, they literally hold nothing back. gigi will be talking about a hookup (if she has any), and she'll be like 'and then he pulled out and he said "*****" to me whilst touching my **** and i literally almost came'. xander just sits there half traumatized and half really invested.
gigi writes fanfic on ao3 and will dedicate her fics to xander
speaking of fanfics, xander is also her beta reader sometimes
they cause arguments wherever they go. they'll be having dinner with skye, zara, and the others, and they'll purposely say smth like "omg did you hear that skye hooked up with zara's husband". everyone starts screaming, and they just sit in the back eating popcorn
they listen to cupcakke (the girl with the really dirty songs) together and scream the lyrics.
gigi once walked in on xander getting dressed (he was completely naked). she was so shocked she couldn't move, and xander just stood there staring at her. gigi managed to walk away (disgusted bc she just saw one of her closest friends naked), and xander was blushing profusely cause he was embarrassed.
they have the weirdest nicknames for each other. they call each other things like 'my little sugar plum sprinkled with pickles' or stuff like that.
xander flirts with gigi around grayson just to piss him off and gigi does the same (grayson gets weirded out cause although xander and gigi aren't related, he's related to both of them)
when they facetime, they literally bring each other everywhere. xander will literally go to the toilet with her on the phone. they have no shame.
they have an insta account together where they post the craziest shit ever (they sort of post videos like the sturniolo triplets. i don't watch them, but from what i've seen they remind me of gigi and xander)
xander and gigi make edits of gigi's cats and post them on tiktok.
they both decided to get a helix piercing. (they have matching earrings).
xander and gigi go to sex shops and laugh at the toys. they'll see lingerie or smth and gigi will go 'it's so coquette it turns me off'
gigi and xander cannot spell properly when they text. they'll be trying to say 'yoo wanna come over for a sleepover' but it comes out as 'yu wsna cime ocer for a skeepkowr' or smth like that
they were once at the park pushing each other down slides, but gigi pushed xander too hard and he fell face first into the grass.
after this event, she changed his contact name to 'grass eating cow'
gigi is a little too comfortable around xander. she asks him things like 'do you think one of my boobs is bigger than the other' or 'do you think my ass is slapable'. xander usually just stays quiet unless gigi insists he responds, and then he panics and says something random.
they go to stores to just touch all of the blankets until they find the softest ones, and then they buy them. in their opinion, you will not get a good night's sleep if you don't have a good blanket.
they get really cold easily so they're always huddled up together in a corner.
gigi is the grumpiest person you could ever imagine when she's on her period. xander runs around getting her everything she asks for when she has cramps and stuff freaking out because he doesn't want her to kill him.
gigi and xander vent to each other a lot. they're really similar and so they get each other like no one else does. they cry in each others arms regularly but always end up laughing bc some of their problems are just so stupid.
gigi helps him draw his missing eyebrow back on for events with an eyebrow pencil. she's gotten quite good at it.
at the end of the year, they organize this event where they talk about their fav fanfics and crown one as their absolute fav (they have different categories like smut, romance, au, etc)
for halloween one year, gigi dressed up as a dildo and xander as a pocket p*ssy (gigi dared him to)...
(don't mind that last one, my sister dared me to add it)

Ship and HC what you want--but I hate Ravage & Soundwave parent-child headcanons so much. I'm finally gonna say it. They can be adult best friends rather than lovers, but the family thing makes my skin crawl. Here's why.
The following is just my personal opinion. Everyone who reads this is free to engage with it, but I don't want to fight about it, and I am not trying to make anyone give up their headcanons, whether those are romantic, sexy, familial, or just friendly.
(The Ravage I write in my fics and RP, like ES Ravage, prefers she/her pronouns. I am aware that Ravage uses he/him in other continuities.)
I am really freaking uncomfortable with most of the common familial headcanons about Soundwave and Ravage, Soundwave and his cassettes in general, and the whole cassette thing. And I will also die screaming before I tag erotic content between two fully sapient beings as "bestiality".
I would rather think of Ravage and Soundwave as bonded lovers (and the birds as her siblings) then think of Soundwave as either of the following:
An Abusive Father who sends his own children directly into the heat of battle out to fight as child soldiers; or
A Large Adult Son who allows his parent and her siblings to be mutilated so he can drag her off into places like mining colonies and war zones, where she ministers to his emotional needs while also fighting for him in the heat of battle, and has no life or relationships of her own.
Because no matter how many cat memes you draw, neither of those things is cute. You have the right to ship whatever you want to ship same as me, but I don't want to read either dynamic.
He is NOT the single father of the year if he's yeeting his children onto battlefields.
He is NOT a good son if his mother is telepathically linked to him, programmed so that he can yeet her out into battlefields in less than a second, and unable to have any romantic or QP partnerships of her own.
If he is her lover (conjunx) or her QPP (amica), and the meeting they had in Rodion was a meeting of two neurodivergent adults who learned how to help and support each other in dealing with their disabilities, and they both want to be together even in the depths of hell, then they have a much less horrific and unhealthy relationship.
I was once made to play IDW Ravage as not Soundwave's partner in a dreamwidth game because they didn't like the ship, and she was a miserable, unhappy person who had given up her entire life to serve Soundwave and Megatron.
This really solidified my feelings about not just why I think their relationship is romantic and adorable, but also why I think a parental relationship between them, going in either direction, is incredibly fucking gross.
Making them mutually interdependent neurodiverse adults with complementary support needs, who love each other in a mature way or even an 'adult' way changes the narrative.
If Ravage is Soundwave's life partner, then the forced cassettification has imposed a power differential on them, but it is significantly lessened by the fact that they were already together and interacting as grown-ass adults who loved each other before that took place.
In other scenarios, she's being thrown by her father up against mechs 4 times her size, OR she's a devoted parent who has been emotionally enslaved by cassettification and can't even have an adult relationship of her own because who the hell is going to want to be her partner knowing that she has an unbreakable telepathic link with her son? And you can't really say she's trading this emotional labour for protection when he's yeeting her out into the front lines every third episode.
IDK, I think glorifiying parents who send their children to war and enmeshed parenting that renders someone an appendage to their child is a lot less problematic than letting them meet as adults and learn how to help one another.
Every time I see someone draw humanformer Soundwave and Ravage as a collared pet, I want to scream, but I don't, because everyone has the right to write and draw what makes them happy.
My friends know NOT to send me links to art that diminishes Ravage.
Ravage may look like a cat, but she passes the Harkness test, and her entire arc in IDW was about getting people to respect her as an equal despite the thing where she looks like a cat.
Her brain and spark are equal to that of any other Cybertronian. It's not bestiality. There's no reason a telepath would care more about the shape of her body than the feel of her mind.
I would rather think that she's getting love and respect and hot overloads from Soundwave than think that she's selflessly devoted to him and to Megatron for all of her days until Tarn locks her into that fucking refrigerator. Or think that she's a child soldier.

Uh? It’s CANON Gojo and geto saw each other as BROTHERS.
alright I’m gonna answer this now lmao — I think with fiction everyone is entitled to their own take on things but with gojo and geto I believe the two to be soulmates — whether it’s platonic or romantic —
I personally see it as romantic, but if you don’t that’s completely fine and I’m not here to force my opinion onto you — it was in the tags — you don’t like, don’t read it! That simple.
I mean I could explain to you why I see it as romantic —
gojo calls geto his “one and only,”
the button left behind when geto defects is his second button that gojo ends up with — the button often given in Japanese culture to romantic partners / interests,
gojo literally says, when he sees kenjaku in geto’s body, “I know in my soul you’re not suguru geto” even in the English dub they localized is as “in my heart and soul,”
to add to that, kenjaku’s whole plan hinged on gojo freaking out upon seeing geto’s body — gojo is someone who is always very calm — he only gets emotional when it comes to geto. literally itadori dies and megumi got taken over Sukuna and he stays completely calm (for the most part), nothing in comparison in his reactions to geto’s defection or kenjaku
geto’s body literally fights back against kenjaku when trying to hurt gojo — and kenjaku has been alive since the heian era at least, and he says he’s never seen that happen before — what that says about their connection is pretty clear cut in my opinion.
the whole theme of jjk 0 is that love is the most twisted curse of all — where did gojo learn that from? Obviously there’s more than one type of love — but this movie was focused on romantic love in particular (between yuta and rika) but also was reflecting on geto and gojo’s relationship
gojo’s last words to geto are allegedly three words according to the VAs and what else could they be? Other than the theme of the entire movie — “I love you???” and then Geto literally blushes in the manga and says, “at least you could have cursed me in the end” — which gojo kinda did.
there’s a whole bunch of other things I could analyze and I’m not here to debate with you or anyone else! it’s fiction — it’s up to us to interpret things that are vague. And you are entitled to your opinion — but what I don’t like is you telling me that my opinion is wrong when it’s not!
It’s vague in the manga for a reason. never did they call each other brothers, nor did they call each other lovers — all they said is that they were best friends. And a lot of people are best friends with their brothers but also a lot of lovers are best friends so
you are allowed to have your opinion friend, just don’t tell me mine is wrong — if you don’t like the ship, read the tag and don’t read the fic!

i can't get over these people sorting by kudos or doing some math to figure out what to read like that's actively insane to me. just open up the god damn story if you like the tags/summary and see if you vibe. plenty of times i don't after opening it and reading a paragraph! and i just close it and move on to the next one!!

I have an anecdote about when I worked for a company and a co-worker left to work in a different state on military aircraft. He had to get a TS clearance and because we had worked for several years together he asked if I would be okay with being interviewed for his clearance. I said sure and an interviewer w the gov, arranged to come to my place of work and conduct the interview there. I was asked questions about him like how well did I know him, and whatever answer I gave led to more specific questions like if I answered a question about knowing his wife, they would ask if I thought his marriage sounded secure etc.
This memory of that experience was on my mind while I read your story and I wondered who Iceman would choose for his TS clearance interviews (and who the gov would choose for him) and what would they say? I feel like their "secret" would be uncovered in even a low level clearance (years later I had to submit names for a low level Public Trust clearance for my job) It was so embarrassing because I did not have many friends I was comfortable submitting for that as I kept my work and home life very separate.
Anyway, that is my "cool story, bro"
Thank you for such a great and well researched story!
this is indeed a cool story bro and touches on what is literally my story’s fatal flaw, which is: Yeah, a shitload of people would’ve known about it. I am going to hijack your question to talk about that, so my apologies, though i will get around to your question by the end. This is gonna be a really long post. I have a lot to say and a lot of ground to cover.
So I wanna start out by talking about the structure of this story and its core conflict, because while I’d like to say this story is rooted in an accurate depiction of the US military, obviously that’s not true; it’s rooted in the dynamic of the story that i wanted to tell, which is the story of a guy coming to realize the truth behind a Big Lie—him passing as straight. And that’s a pretty universal story, but it’s made more specific by the fact that a) the guy canonically wants to be the best in an institution that enforces the Big Lie and b) the guy canonically is so successful because he follows the rules/orders of that institution. So, for character growth, to put it simply, the guy (Ice) has to come to the conclusion that the Big Lie is a lie by himself. He can’t be told/ordered that the Big Lie is a lie, otherwise he hasn’t grown out of “just following orders.” (I’ll get to the Big Lie in a second. I made charts and story structure graphs below.)
The only other story about a Big Lie I can think of off the top of my head right now is Passing (1929) by Nella Larsen, which is about a Black woman in Chicago trying to pass as both white and straight. It’s a great book and I’ll try not to spoil it, you should really read it for yourself, but the terminology I’m going to use in this post comes from an analysis of it, so just to bring you up to speed—Clare, the woman trying to pass as white, is recognized by a friend, another Black-but-passing woman, Irene, who is shocked that Clare has abandoned her heritage (the truth of her, that is) and married a hyper-racist white man who doesn’t even know that she’s Black. So the book sets up a dynamic of the Big Lie that I’ve outlined here (hopefully it makes sense):
Tumblr media
I built on this dynamic for my fic. Ice is both a “dupe” and a “passing figure,” in that he believes the lie that he is straight and also passes for straight—but it’s also more complicated than that because he’s not actually straight (getting to that). Mav is an “in-group clairvoyant” and can recognize Ice as passing because he is also straight-passing. The Navy are a bunch of “dupes.” But…what is Slider, for instance, or your question’s hypothetical government official who, yes, will 100% find out because people always find out?
In comes my ginormous-and-overly-wordy WWGATTAI Plot and Character Dynamic Summary Graph. You don’t really have to read it all, the only important bits for this discussion are the leftmost column (“plot”) and the green quadrant (“out-group clairvoyants”).
Tumblr media
To summarize—people who know the truth can’t actually act on it, because for Ice’s character growth to make sense, he has to come to the truth himself. This forecloses the possibility of any outwardly homophobic action (by which I mean someone like a govt official or one of my lame OCs actually challenging him on his illegal relationship) in the plot, because for 90% of the story Ice is so fragile that he would probably just cave immediately and double down on the internalized homophobia. So, for plot purposes, everyone—including Mav, as it happens—has to sort of tiptoe around Ice’s obvious not-straightness and give him an unreasonable amount of grace so he can figure it out for himself.
And therein lies the fatal flaw of this story. It is, like, not conceptually viable. Of course people would find out, of course the government would interrogate him about it, of course he’d have to confront the truth much sooner than TWENTY-FIVE years after he first starts messing around with Mav.  Which literally breaks my heart because I didn’t realize it was a fundamentally busted story until long after I had finished writing the base plot & couldn’t fix the overarching problems 😭 The thing is, it had to be this way, because there is at least a thirty-year gap between TG86 and TGM22, and TGM is obviously the emotional climax of the series and my story had to match that. So—fanfic and its canon constraints, everyone.
But also… I can explain away these logical inconsistencies with story structure & character dynamic graphs to make the story make sense, sure, but it doesn’t change the truth of the matter, which is that… I hadn’t ever really thought about things like security clearances, and therefore wrote around them because I didn’t even know to consider them. And I know there are a bunch of other details in this story that betray my immaturity (anytime I talk about alcohol, for instance—I still am not legal to drink in this stupid country & have only cheap bad experiences to draw on; THE HOUSE—if i could rewrite this story from the beginning they would not have bought a fucking house together, what was I thinking???) and the lack of thought about the real-life logistics and consequences of secrecy is one of them.
And it’s exactly what I mean when I say “I look at this story and all I see are its flaws,” which is why I wanted to write this post & get it on record. I have just enough life experience to read my own writing and know that it’s fundamentally unconvincing, and not enough life experience to know how to fix it. :(
But, to answer your original question, you’ve got me brainstorming a scene where Ice is asking Slider to be his character witness & Slider’s like “Look bro do you want me to lie to the federal government under oath for you because I will” and Ice has to be like “Legally I cannot ask that of you but”

hate when i’m reading a disability fic and a character goes “oh you’re not broken” to the disabled character bc… no. i am. i am broken. if i was perfectly fine i wouldn’t be dealing with this shit yeah? my body is broken and it can’t be fixed. that’s a fact. i can’t leave my house more than three days a week or i’ll be sleeping twelve hours a day for a month. that’s not what someone perfectly healthy deals with. i am broken. it’s just not a big deal bc that’s my daily life. the only thing i can do is stick a band aid over the stab wound, it’s not going away any time soon. i’d rather the focus be on “you are strong because of this” not “you are strong despite this” or just straight up ignoring the issue. it won’t magically go away in the middle of an important fight, it won’t vanish when everything is peaceful, your character will deal with it all. the fucking time. my disability isn’t a hardship to overcome because it isn’t going away. there is no after. my body is broken. it’s just how it is.

I need you all to understand that I worked for about two months on Further Than Blood (my 50k vampire fic) and banged out In the Gray (my 26k zombie fic) in roughly 48 hours. People like the former but they are going absolutely BATSHIT over the latter.
My first point is that writing is a bit of a crapshoot. You can never truly be sure what stories are going to hit an indefinable sweet spot that drives people to madness (complimentary). So write what you want to write, and don't destroy yourself over whether people will like it or not.
My second point is that I've gotten a lot of compliments for churning that second fic out in basically two days. People want to know how I did it. I joke that I don't know, and that I was clearly possessed, but the truth is: Two decades of work went into that fic.
The burst of inspiration and skill that allowed me to write that fic in such a short time didn't come from nowhere. It came from working on my writing almost every day for twenty years. It came from taking breaks from writing when I needed to. It came from reading fics and books and watching films and shows written by people far more skilled than I am. It came from making writing a daily habit, even if it was only a sentence, rather than sitting around hoping lightning would strike me.
Those two-day sprints of inspiration, where the writing just flows, where you feel in the grip of the story, where the muse is basically giving your writer brain a blowjob? You can't wait for them to come around. They will, but not without all the work behind it. And if you only wait for those moments, you'll write very little, and you'll be waiting for a long time.
The last time I had a fit of inspiration like that and churned out a fic that people went batshit over?
December, 2018. Confidence Trick, my best Timeless work. That's almost exactly four years ago, for those of you keeping track.
To summarize:
Write for yourself. Write what you want. You don't know what'll be popular and if anyone else says they do, they're lying.
You can't sprint the 500 meter dash and win a gold medal if you don't get up and go for a run every morning.

lots of people in this fandom CLAIM to love Gomez but when someone makes a post with Morticia as "Barbie is everything" and Gomez as "he's just Ken", it gets likes and reblogs
like...isn't that meme essentially saying "he's bland and boring/doesn't do anything interesting/is no good at anything and has nothing special about him, and no-one cares about him that much because he's just some bland generic guy with no personality beyond being a sidekick"?
do the majority of fans genuinely believe Gomez has no personality and no interesting traits?
#I really am starting to consider deleting all my fics and my Tumblr#because most of my planned WIPs focus on Gomez quite heavily#and I feel like no-one will care or want to read them because apparently everyone thinks he is dull and bland#I'm also assuming everyone I've ever talked to about him was secretly#thinking 'I wish this loser would stop going on about this boring character who no-one cares about'#'ugh they're pathetic he's the most generic bland guy on the planet why would anyone be a fan of him'#even if at the time people seemed interested I'm starting to think they must just have been pretending#because APPARENTLY the whole fandom thinks he's boring and useless and bland and stupid and has no personality#if I post any of my fics I'm worried I'll either get zero response because no-one likes or cares about Gomez#or I'll just get comments from people going 'give up and quit writing no-one cares about this stupid character he sucks and so do you'#I don't get why he's apparently seen as dull and boring when he swordfights and builds robots and blows things up but apparently he is?#I especially don't get it from Morticia fans tbh#because I don't think SHE'D actually like people calling Gomez dull and bland and forgettable and useless#she generally seems to believe he's amazing just as much as he believes she's amazing#but hey what do I know I'm clearly the only person in the fandom who finds him interesting#or thinks he has a personality or is anything more than Morticia's forgettable stupid sidekick#so I guess I'm just stupid and wrong about everything#and should stop writing fic because apparently I'm too stupid to understand the characters properly#and I'm just an idiot with bad taste and bad opinions#because if I was a true fan who understood the characters I'd think Gomez was boring and useless too like everyone else does#it's just not fun to know that everyone I thought was interested in my fics and headcanons was only pretending to be

What is the mystery of hatred? Is it something to read and think about or what?
You can definitely read it and then you’ll never be able to stop thinking about it so I would say it’s something to read and think about, but i personally wouldn’t recommend it.
It’s the sequel of a fic called billions of years in anonymous matter, in which Cat enters a sexual relationship with a fourteen years old Jon (if i remember correctly). They hate each other and the power dynamics are insanely messed up. If you don’t want spoilers stop reading now.
Anyway in mystery of hatred she gets pregnant and doesn’t know if the baby is Ned’s or Jon’s. And then it’s born with purple eyes so it’s definitely Jon’s. So all three of them know it belongs to Jon and Ned has to pretend the child is his and everyone’s sad and angry.

Hi!! I absolutely don't mean this in a rude way at all, I ADORE your writing and how you interpret the characters. I think your fics deserve more attention, but do you ever feel bad (ig??) that they might not be as popular as other authors in the RE fandom?
hey! don't worry; when i first started writing, i often wondered why a fic wasn't very popular, but i learned a few things over the several years i've been doing it. this is gonna be kinda long, so just bear with me a moment.
the short answer: no, i don't feel bad or upset that my works may not be as "popular" as someone else's.
the long answer: still no, but here's why.
a lot goes into what makes someone's work popular among a fandom, regardless of how many people are actively in it. i'm gonna list a few factors real quick.
1.) how active they are in said fandom. if you're constantly interacting with other members of the same fandom, you're going to gain friends and loyal readers no matter what you decide to write. personally, i'm not very active on tumblr, and i only post updates on my work occasionally. that right there already takes a large bit out of my potential reader base. 2.) your pairing, rating, and tags. obviously, Alcina/Reader is still extremely popular, so that will already gain you some readers. explicit content typically gets more hits than any other, for obvious reasons, so an explicit fic will get more hits than a mature or teen and up fic. also, people do look at tags, so make them interesting! make sure you don't leave the important stuff out, unless it's a spoiler.
3.) your summaries. honestly, you could have the best writing in the world, be considered a literal god... but your idea just might not intrigue someone. it's okay if it doesn't! that does not make you any less of a writer just because a few people weren't interested by your idea. i think a lot of people tend to forget something very important and something i learned the hard way: just because someone else's work may be more popular does not mean you aren't also a good writer, or that they're somehow better than you.
i haven't read much since like... august? but when i was still reading a lot of fanfics in the RE fandom (among others), i found gems that weren't really popular, and really popular fics that just... weren't that good. so, popularity does not equal good writing, at least not all the time. again, those other factors go in to how many readers you can get when you post, and sometimes, people will remain, even if there is content within your fic they don't really like.
also, speaking of, it's totally okay for people to drop your fic because there was something (or several things) in it they didn't like. i'm not saying anyone should be going and writing hateful comments because of those things (unless it's implied/explicit incest, that shit's gross, get it out of here). i, personally, have dropped fics in the RE fandom because of implied incest or because i didn't like the way the author wrote the characters.
again, it's okay to do that! just drop the fic and go about your day if there's something you don't like. in other fandoms, years ago, i would literally drop fics because i didn't like the way the author wrote. you're not going to please everyone.
at the end of the day, even if i'm only keeping one person happy with my writing, i'm going to continue. and you should, too! you're going to get better every day, you're going to learn more things, and these will stay with you for as long as you write.
anyways, sorry. i kind of went off a little. there are, of course, a lot more things that go in to what makes a fic "popular", but those were just a few. even if you only have a handful of readers, please, keep writing. don't let that talent of yours go to waste <33
