The real question is if Neuvillette = surname, does that mean that each and every Melusine is also Neuvillette?

neuvillete would never admit it out loud.
how you left him in awe every time he heard you calling out for his attention—monsieur neuvillette in a formal setting, but instead referring him as neuvie when in private.
something about it had always made neuvillette's chest just a little bit tightened at the way the name rolled off your tongue oh-so-eloquently, and he often found himself staring at your lips a second longer than what everyone would consider as appropriate.
oh, how he would love to peck your lips, feeling them against his, even for a brief moment.
it was an embarrassing thought sitting at the little corner of his mind. he was ashamed at how easily you had him on your mercy.
"neuvie," your voice came out a tad bit softer after seeing him spacing out—in which was totally not a norm to see him staring far ahead and at you, though not until recently.
"are you alright, love?"
he swore he felt his heart dropped. it was a double kill to him, who recently figured out that he loved you more than he initially thought he would. how endearing of you to call him with such names, it was cute. a perfect adjective to describe you.
"nothing, dear," his voice resonated through the room, and you realised how he looked at the perfect weather illuminating his office through the window.
you looked at him back, skeptical as to why the corner of his mouth seemed to form a fine curve, but you shrugged the feeling as soon as it came. maybe he was happy, considering the sunny and chilly weather outside.
and his feeling mattered to you the most.
"monsieur neuvillette," you called him out again.
this time, neuvillette could barely hide the frown that was about to form on his face. why did you call him that? why the sudden change of attitude? he was confused. especially when he felt the soft touches on his hair.
you were patting his head, occasionally fixing his hair as neuvillette slightly leaned in to feel the warmth only you could exude.
"it is about time for today's trial, chief justice. lady furina must have been waiting for you at the opera house," you gently reminded him, feeling the way his shoulders tensed.
oh—how stupid of him, he thought. he finally understood why you called him by his title, there was sedene all along at the door.
the melusine looked at both of you in amusement, he could tell by the way her tail was wagging.
"another minute, dear?" his voice was low enough, seemingly to avoid the melusine's attention as he sighed.
you beamed a small smile at him, making neuvillette felt ten times heavier to let go of you and go to the court. "no, neuvie," you rubbed soft circles at the back of his hand, and neuvillette fought the urge to intertwine his finger with yours.
he fought the urge to kiss you on your lips—his name sounded so precious coming out from you. it actually pained his heart at how irreplaceable you were in his life.
"after the court session is over, we can cuddle all we want, yeah?" you pecked his cheek, and neuvillette thought he could die happily if this was the treatment he would get—a reward worth billions of mora if this was what you gave him from cherishing and loving you.
and he would love to hear and love you forever.

inside the fortress of meropide, the only person that could make wriothesley's burdens felt lighter was you, and only you. to see that you enjoyed your time being here—although the fortress was everything except fun and colours—and sometimes helped sigewinne with her infirmary stuff, he felt a part of him was proud at how kind and brave you were.
wriothesley loved looking at you teasing and babying sigewinne. it was another trait that made him clicked with you so well—despite his profession and the countless dangers he might have brought along.
he remembered the first time you insisted to tag along with him to the infamous underwater prison. no one could enter and exit the fortress whenever they wanted, and you managed to prove him wrong. now that your reputation was well-known within the area, it seemed that the law on permitting outsiders to get into the fortress with thorough screening process didn't really seem to be applicable to you.
every garde recognised you. every staff and people and melusine alike—all had acknowledged you in their work space.
so when you introduced yourself as wriothesley's other half, it was understandable that your name made it in the headlines and became the monthly issue from the steambird.
'after all, the duke doesn't really seem to be the lover type, isn't he?'
"hi, handsome," you waved at wriothesley, who seemed to just finish with an interrogation session with one of the criminals. a stack of papers was in his grip.
his eyes widened at the way you called him with that word which often failed to not make his heart thumped against his chest.
"good evening, darling," he scoffed when he felt the way his voice almost cracked. the random terms of endearment you threw at him had always made his actions cut short and his words to be stuck in his throat. "what are you doing here? did i not say to go back home at 5? it is late."
"mhm," you hummed.
pointing at the clipboard in your right hand which wriothesley had realised was there all along, you explained yourself. "was running an errand for sigewinne. the poor nurse had some troubles so i lent a hand or two," you said while tapping wriothesley's shoulder thrice, feeling proud of yourself for contributing a cent around the fortress.
you then involuntarily fixed his tie, still giving him the proud smile you often wore.
wriothesley sent you a soft smile at that, contradicting the multitude of scars littered across his body.
of course his favourite person was the one who was kind enough to help sigewinne—it was as if you silently repaid sigewinne's past deeds of treating his injuries. how could anyone would not love you for that, he thought.
your heart swelled at the sight. your partner was quite soft at heart when he smiled, despite the roughness he portrayed.
you were staring at his face with those sparkles he never knew could exist in one's eyes. it was too much, but wriothesley thought he would just mentally appreciate the pure loving look you gave him.
"this will do. now my man looks dashing as always."
it took him exactly three seconds to understand what you meant. you were fixing his appearance, and he felt his face became a little bit warmer. my man, he unconsciously repeated the words in his mind.
if sigewinne saw the two of you being so lovey dovey in public—well, maybe both of you were done for.
"the gesture is very much appreciated, darling," he chuckled.
"you are very welcome, sir," you replied, mimicking the small chuckles he sent towards you.
"since both of us have already worked overtime, let us grab a bite?" you swung your arm around his, interlocking with the arm that often held you with such gentleness.
"alright," wriothesley gave in to your suggestion, long forgotten where he should be heading before crossing his path with you. "let us go on a date."

“my wife.”
how they address you. why does it make your heart skip a beat each time?
characters; neuvillette, wriothesley
—female pronouns obvi, aaaa this is so random😭 fluff, tad bit of crack, has suggestive themes/dirty jokes cause that's my humor in general, just tryna get into writing again heehaa don't mind me ʘ‿ʘ
Tumblr media
NEUVILETTE always accompanies the term with unmatched affection. it rolls off his tongue perfectly like a match made in heaven, coupled with the serene image of you instantaneously appearing in his mind before he even thinks of the uttering the endearing term. he still finds it surreal that you are both even lawfully married, yet the way he calls you his wife is already on instinct. is it too presumptuous of him?
well, in the end, he can't find any means to worry about it when you seem to equally adore the nickname.
“ooohh, say it again, say it again!”
he can't tell whether he married a child or not, but he still obliges your request and calls you his wife affectionately once more.
meanwhile, furina nearly gags everytime she hears him say it so softly—like using any other tone when referring to you would land him in the hands of the fortress of meropide. sure—she might've been the one who set up both of you—but the drama and thrill akin to watching a romance film has delightfully ended, and she can only meddle so much in marital matters. the iudex just might actually have her head in a platter if she were to do anything mischievous at that point.
but while a happy neuvillette is running around announcing 'my wife' this and 'my wife' that, you are currently stuck on what to call him in return, sadly enough.
“at this point, i think i'm just going to call you daddy.”
it was unfortunate with the way he choked on some of the water he was drinking—well, thank goodness he didn't spill much as before. for this wasn't the first time you said something unprompted while he was in peace with his water—he can only internally sigh.
“and what exactly has influenced you to arrive at such a conclusion, my wife?” he does not miss the tiny shudder of your body that followed the endearment. your face burns a tad bit at that, and he softly chuckles.
“your effect on me is no joke, you know?” you pout at his amused smile, “the way you refer to me so sweetly makes me want to call you my dearest husband everytime.”
“i don't recall voicing any complaints. is something else holding you back from doing so?”
you nod solemnly in agreement at that, which prompts him to raise a brow in mild curiousity.
“thing is, i really like calling you by your first name. same with monsieur neuvilette. there's something mildly erotic within it—you get what i mean, hehehe...” he only stares at you, clearly unimpressed, and a bit concerned at the implication. you clear your throat, apologizing under your breath.
“still—it's such a devastating predicament to be unable to choose between the three.” you sigh defeatedly, moving to slump your entire weight on his lap. you mutter, “my dearest husband monsieur neuvillette...mmm, no, that's too long.”
chuckling at your dramatic antics, he plants a soothing hand on your waist, the other fixing your wrinkled clothing as you practically melt against his hold. “and you thought settling on daddy was the appropriate option?”
“i'm not hearing any objections.” you jest, feeling cheeky.
“please refrain from calling me such a thing in the eyes of the public atleast.”
“...huh? you're actually allowing it??”
Tumblr media
WRIOTHESLEY on the other hand, says it as if he's flaunting. it leaves his lips like a taunt each time, indirectly telling the other party 'i have a hot wife and you dont' even though most of the time the people he mentions you to don't even know what you actually look like. it's silly, childish even, but you still love it nonetheless.
sigewinne and the other inmates have collectively told you that ever since you got married, he has never uttered your actual name to anyone else. some find it weird, some find it somehow disrespectful, and some are now convinced he's crazily obsessed with you, and now he's showing it off every chance he gets, much to everyone's dismay.
it's arrived to the point where a small percentage of people have actually forgotten about your name, and now refer to you as the duke's wife, or even duchess, to which you made a face at. that's kind of pushing it by then.
anywho, in the end, it's funny and endearing, maybe even makes you a bit giddy, but there is no way you're telling him that. the situation might escalate even more if possible.
“you know, my wife is very mean to me today.”
as a pair of strong yet gentle arms wrap around your waist, you resist the growing smile on your face, deciding to mess with your husband for a bit.
“is that so?” you continue your chores without a care in the world. he huffs.
“mhm. she won't look me in the eye the whole day, even though she seemed sooo happy last night.” face instantly burning, you hiss as you slap his arm in a fit of embarrassment, pulling a hearty chuckle from the man behind you.
“—and now she's hitting me as well. i can't believe this.” you both know very well he was not fazed in the slightest bit.
“if her husband wasn't such a pervert then maybe—”
his facade cracks as he forces out an awkward laugh, “hey now, baby, you know i'm nothing like that.”
“wriothesley.”
he clears his throat awkwardly, “okay, maybe a little. it's exclusive for you though! my wife doesn't have to be so mean about it, you're making me reallyyy sad here, y'know?”
there it is again, you think. that nickname. that damned word that makes you want to turn around and smash your lips against his and—wait, hold yourself together! don't forget the reason you're being cold to him!
“you deserve to feel remorse. i've been struggling to even move the whole day because of you.”
you go rigid.
you didn't mean for that to come out so bitter...oh no.
“oh. so that's what this is about.” you don't even have to turn around to know that there's a smug look on his stupidly handsome face, his grip on your waist turning into soothing circles as he presses a kiss to your neck.
“if my wife wanted a massage, she could've just said so.” it's husky when it leaves his mouth, leaving you to shiver with the chills he enunciates.
flustered, you completely disregard the way your knees buckle at the endearment laced with that low voice of his, hitting his arm once more, earning a tiny 'ouch' from him.
“pervert. i want rest, not another round!”
“heh, i didn't say anything about another round, my perverted wife.”
“you—” you are abrupt cut off as you yelp in surprise when your feet are raised off the ground, your face now much closer to your husband's as he carries you gently in his arms.
“shhh, just let me take you to bed. if my wife was feeling terrible the whole day, she should've just told me in the first place so she could stay in, don't you think?”
he's right, but you're still angry. “shut up.”
“just letting you know i'm not completely at fault, wife.” you attempt to ignore the furious beating of your heart, face burning at his smug expression. “i'm not the only one who wanted it.”

DRIP DRIP DROP!
(Neuvillette understands the phrase “Love hurts” all too well)
"I'll paint the sky red, all for you." (Ft.Neuvillette)
Character(s): Neuvillette, Reader (Genderless)
Tags: yandere!character, SH, blood, knives, stalking, non-consensual photography, dark topics
——————————————————————————
When the Traveller and his companion came to Fontaine, Neuvillette was indifferent, the sky cloudy, a slight air of gloom washed over the nation.
But when he first saw you, the sky immediately brightened. He absolutely adored speaking with you. It was actually difficult to keep his professional persona.
The very minute it started to grow cloudy, Neuvillette immediately thought of you, and the skies would clear once again.
He made it a priority to keep the skies clear, just for you. He smiled, assuming you'd love the sunny weather. But you looked up and frowned slightly.
Neuvillette’s face immediately fell. A...frown? Why in Teyvat would you frown?!
He wasn't the only one to notice, Aether raised an eyebrow at your lackluster reaction to the change in weather.
“Something wrong? You don't look too happy…”
You paused, turning to look at Aether.
“It's…nothing really. I just really love rain. I prefer gloomy weather over sunny, warm weather…but it's okay. I heard the rain is the Hydro dragons tears, I don't want to make someone cry.”
You casually mentioned your love of rain and gloomy weather, displaying a slight disappointment at the change in weather type.
Neuvillette’s ears perked up, his heart sputters when he hears your concern for him., he'd never thought someone would prefer gloom over sunny days. No matter, if it's gloomy weather you want, it's gloomy weather you'll get.
Unfortunately for Neuvillette, he wasn't one of those who could cry on command, and there was nothing worth crying over—except you of course. Unable to make himself cry, he simply decided he'd need to take drastic measures.
He stared at the letter opener on his desk, a determined yet crazed look in his beautiful blue irises. He picks it up, taking a deep breath. Here goes nothing.
.
.
.
.
.
One…Two……Six………Fourteen……
He's lost count of how many times he’s sliced open his pale flesh, a puddle of red pulling on the floor beneath him. A sea itself of tears dripping from his pretty eyes.
It hasn't stopped raining in days, the sea's are high, and the land is becoming waterlogged. And yet, none of that matters, for his beloved wanted rain, so rain there shall be.
Each night he stains his wooden floor a deeper tint of red, muffled panting and hissing emitting from outside his door well into the late hours.
He pressed the letter opener against his arm once again, carelessly running the sharp edge over the same spot, milky flesh parts immediately to give way to a sea of red, each new slice moment digging the blade deeper into muscle tissue. Crimson oozes from his wounds, pooling on the wooden flooring in a uniform puddle at his feet. His eyes burn with tears, but he wants more. He wants—no. He NEEDS to prove how much his Angel means to him.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
“Neuvillette? It's Furina, are you okay in there? It's raining pretty hard…”
Neuvillette curses under his breath silently, hiding the bloody letter opener and wrapping up his hand.
“Yes Furina, I'm fine, I just figured we needed some rain after how dry it's been.”
Furina wasn't convinced, but she didn't want to intrude.
“O-Okay…just…let me know if you need anything…”
Neuvillette merely grunts in response, a very dismissive reaction. He waits for the sound of Furina's footsteps to disappear before picking his letter opener back up.
His office starts to smell vaguely of iron, his gloves now for more than just aesthetics. The secrets his sleeves hide are for him and only him to know about. Each night he adds a new line to his pale skin, skin and muscle separating, pain receptors do nothing to stop him. The edges of his vision get dark and blurry, his head light from blood loss.
(Un)fortunately for Neuvillette, he has friends who care and worry about him. Annoyingly caring, can't they see he's busy?! Any and questions aimed to get answers out of him end in short, vague responses.
He dodges the questions of Furina, waving her off with a poor but plausible excuse. He's gotten surprisingly rude to Wriothesley, especially when Wriothesley was near his beloved, their relationship strains, yet Neuvillette always manages to silver tongue his way out of any tension. Not even Sigewinne can get anything out of him.
He spends his free time following his beloved from a distance, taking note of every little thing said and done. Stopped at a shop to look at some trinket? One of each color is mailed to your residence.
Your favorite flower, snack, or some type of gift is always at your doorstep, a handwritten, anonymously sent card attached to each gift. You don't know who it is or how they found your address, but they don't seem to be malevolent so you accept the gifts, keeping them on your desk.
Neuvillette's heart races each time he sees you accept his presents, smiling like a schoolgirl who's crush looked at her in math class. So what if it's a little creepy that he's been following you home every night? It's just…for protection.
God's forbid you'd ever express concerns for him to him, his heart might just stop. You're too cute, a mortal worrying about someone thousands of years old? How precious. Even more of a reason for him to protect you. There's a lot of sick people out there who could ruin you. Unacceptable.
Oh and by the way, ignore the camera sounds, he doesn't know how to turn the shutter off on his camera yet. Neuvillette just wants a few hundred photos for his room. Nothing too bad, just some of you walking, eating, sleeping. Totally normal. I mean it's not like he taped a photo of you sleeping to his pillow so he could pretend he was cuddling you. Absolutely not, you have the craziest ideas!
Neuvillette is oblivious to the looks of concern and even the ones of anger. Who cares if there's so much water houses are flooding? That smile on his gloomy Angel's face makes nothing else matter.
Who needs the sun anyway?

The Mystery of Fontaine and Furina and Others;
Tumblr media
I love the concept of hydro, its about justice, its about drama and most importantly, emotions. (Region is inspired from France). It makes sense because justice is about empathy, about caring about victims, its about emotions but sometimes, its also related to sempaty, the drama, because thats what happens when you are overflowing with emotions. Which perfectly fits Furina, the Hydro Archon. She is very emotional character but she hides that side of her for the sake of her land. She seems full of herself from outside but actually, very insecure and sensitive. Its important to remember that we didnt meet the Furina when she is not on public yet so we will see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This sitution is most likely, its related to prophecy. I wonder, the reason is trials? The way trials work? The sin might people seeing other people's misery as entertainment or maybe the mysterious Oratrice, that somehow knows who is guilty, who is innocent. Maybe Furina was very afraid of not finding true justice, very scared of sending innocent people to prison, that she started to rely on this machine but it end up resulting water's overflowing? Furina seems to know why or at least has an idea whats going and she seems to handling things on her own way but it seems to fail miserably. Or maybe this land suffers from self-fullfilling prophecy. They or Furina believe and pay attention to prophecy too much that they unconciously turn it into reality. Maybe its related to 'overflowing emotions, the tears'. Furina's design is, her necklace, especially her eyes are include tear design too so yeah.
Freminet talks about Furina in his voicelines;
Tumblr media
'Uhhh...I am in no position to give a well-rounded opinion on the Hydro Archon..so......I'll pass..I mean..I've only seen her a few times..So I am sure I have a..somewhat skewed view of her.' 'Okay…Fine…I've seen what the Hydro Archon's like when she's sitting in the audience…In my view..she's a very charismatic speaker..But its her silence that intrigue me more…Her eyes..They are like the darkness at the bottom of ocean..Hiding a-deep secret..afraid of anyone ever getting close to her…Uhh. Sorry..I…I let my imagination get better of me...' (Source)
First of all, kudos to Freminet for being the only person who actually understand Furina, somehow.
Tumblr media
All this talk about Furina by Freminet and the trailer picture might be important clue in the future. Maybe Freminet will be one of the first ones who will find out Furina's secret.
Lyney mentions that his 'naive' brother Freminet believes in fairy tales' in his voiceline but i wonder what is this fairy tale he is talking about, maybe it is really true and its related to Furina's secret, as reference to Furina being fairy since her design also resemble it.
Tumblr media
This hydro archon quest is really dark, both with people turning into water as experiment and Lyney and Lyneytte's backstory. While they might be good people (which we can see with their relationship/gratitude with Cesal) and they still have their own agenda as fatui members.
We dont know what Arlecchino is planning but Wanderer and Childe said she is wolf in sheep clothes in his voice lines so most likely, she uses twins and other orphans for her plans but we will see. Its also interesting that every fatui member is doing something? with their own homeland. Signora with Venti in Mondstad, (Not sure about Liyue part), Scara with Ei in Inazuma, Dottore with Nahida in Sumeru and now, Arclecchino with Furina in her own homeland Fontaine? I wonder this is all planned by Tsaritsa or she just lets them take revenge on their homeland as they please. Well, we will see.
Tumblr media
Neuvillette is really look and act like Hydro Zhongli. I thought he might be Edgeworth like Ace Attorney Game since game is turning into one (more realistic version, thankfully but he seems softer than he looks, maybe more mature version of him). He seems a lot more human/passive than it seems but also powerfull secretly. Its also been theorized that he might be hydro dragon, elemental creature and if thats the case, he seems to hiding this for some reason, (wonder if he hides this from Furina too), and he secretly cries/being sad and thats why rain starts. And i think its worth to remember that for some reason we never see 'guilty/not guilty' results, he is the only one who looks at results or maybe there are no results at all and he makes it up? If he is elemental creature, he might also be related to Primordial sea or at least, he might know something about it. We will see.
Tumblr media
And Childe backstory, him somehow awaken something and it seems to be relating people's disapperance with water. And his dream in deep sea. Very interesting. I love how he randomly shows up and meets with traveler and he sure is close to being one of the main characters in the story. And the fact that he will stay in prison until 4.1-4.2 is very funny, lol. You wait for us, Childe.
Tumblr media
And my general opinion about the characters; I really love Furina, just like Ei, she is very interesting deep character. She is also very entertaining and i love her design. She is my favorite archon. Cant wait to get more of her. I like Lyney, Lynette and Freminet but for now, i love Lyney the most, compared to them, he is such a cute, gentleman. Childe is of course, one of my faves and he definitely should interact with Furina and others more, lol. I am notr with Neuvillette and Clorinde and cant wait to find out about them and his dynamic with Furina. Navia is design is very good and character too but i wish she get less screentimes in archon quest since this is not Navia quest, lol. Generally, i love the animation, characters, music, concept, and story. And hydro is my favorite element, i love everythig about it. Anyway, we will see with other characters/things later so for now, thats it.

*Screams in lesbian*
I won't lie, I spent a few minutes trying to screenshot the moment when she crosses her legs, but the scene went by too fast for me to do it 😔
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I originally thought that Arlecchino was lying when she said this since Childe said that he didn't like her at all so there's be no reason for him to talk to her about this... But in his "About Us: Comrades" voiceline, Childe's pretty nonchalant about the fact that the other Harbingers know he's friends with the person who's been foiling their plans, so him casually talking about his friendship with the Traveler to the Harbingers would actually be plausible.
Then again, Arlecchino specializes in intelligence gathering so Childe could very well have mentioned that the Traveler likes sweets, just not to or around her, but an agent of hers could have heard it and carried it back to her.
Tumblr media
Oh?? 👀
Tumblr media
So she's dispensing with the politeness? Even with the Traveler present?
Tumblr media
"But you? It beggars belief just how nonchalant and carefree you have been. From the very beginning, you, the god Focalors... You have utterly failed to take action."
Damn, look at that glare. She's even referring to Furina by her god name, which is hella rude in Teyvat, even calling her "O great Hydro Archon" sarcastically. Ever since that first meeting with Neuvillette and Furina, Arlecchino has been polite, but also passive aggressive. But now? She has completely dropped the cordiality and her tone was honestly angry and damning.
You know, when Arlecchino first appeared in game, I was surprised by how cordial she was because it was so at odds with how she was in the A Winter Night's Lazzo teaser where she was angry with some of the other Harbingers. But now that she isn't bothering with being friendly, I can recognize her now.
And remember how in the teaser, she was angry with Pulcinella and Pantalone, "heartless businessmen and dignitaries" as she called them (which Fontaine is known for having 👀), for talking about a proper way to honor Signora's death when they couldn't hope to understand what she went through when they always have convenient excuses to remain in the comfort of their homeland.
And here Arlecchino's lambasting Furina for "drinking tea and eating desserts as if it's all nothing more than a few stray bugs in [her] garden", talking about how she claims she will save Fontaine from the prophecy, but (seemingly) doesn't have a plan at all and is instead indulging in tea parties.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it seems that Arlecchino is greatly pissed off by people and dignitaries with empty words and empty promises who enjoy comfort and safety while others struggle.
Because of her reactions in both those scenes, I think that if there's anything that can be determined about Arlecchino is that her desire to save Fontaine is genuine. Childe did say that the Harbingers have their own agendas and saving Fontaine from the prophecy could very well be Arlecchino's.
Tumblr media
"Very well, let's stop that conversation here. There are still a few slices of cake left, so please help yourselves, everyone."
And then she just goes back to her cordial demeanor like nothing happened!
(Also, her fucking hips!!! 😩🫦)
Tumblr media
Guys. "Those who work hard deserve gratitude and praise."
The shade she is throwing at Furina, my god.
Tumblr media
I see those slices of cake there. So she wasn't lying when she said she has a sweet tooth!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This makes me wonder just how strong Arlecchino is. Neuvillette may have taken down Childe in one move, but Childe is the 11th Harbinger, while Arlecchino is the 4th. Could Arlecchino be strong enough to take Neuvillette in a fight? 🤔
Tumblr media
More credence being lent to Arlecchino genuinely caring about Fontaine... 👀 Like Signora, she couldn't rely on her god to save her homeland, so she had to take matters into her own hands.
Tumblr media
So once the Fontaine crisis is solved, does this provide an in-universe reason for Arlecchino being playable and aiding the Traveler?
She would have gotten what she wanted so her loyalty to the Fatui would take a swan dive.
And since Arlecchino is high up the ranking and specializes in intelligence gathering, how much info would she give us on the other Harbingers? 👀

Has anyone from the Fontaine update caught your eye? Is there a character your planning to pull for?
HMMMMMMM i still want to get to know the characters a bit more before pulling for anyone. i'd love to have a cryo DPS so wriothesley appeals to me in that regard, especially since he's the first cryo catalyst user in the game. i thought we'd have to wait until the tsaritsa to get that. it'll either be him, furina, or arlecchino. i'd love to get furina and arlecchino though. i have 26k primos currently, so one of them will be guaranteed by the time the banner comes out.
story wise, i like neuvillette and furina the most. they finally gave us a cringefail archon and i absolutely adore her. she has this unique energy that all these other archons haven't embodied up until this point, although i'm sure there's more to her than the theatrics. i can't wait to fully make sense of her wacky behavior.
early on when sumeru first came out, i didn't feel i'd write for any of the characters, but that changed after i got to see them throughout various stories,, so i don't want to say i'm not writing for any of fontaine's cast just yet. the only character i have a muse for presently is miss arlecchino. i want to have a bit more backstory/overall knowledge on her before i go ham in a fic.
ALSO. i'd be remiss not to mention navia. i absolutely adore her. her story arc and character growth were my favorite part of the archon quests. seeing her resilience, learning about her relationship with her dad, the convictions she refuses to bend on ... i was making heart eyes every time navia was on screen. the scenes where she gets emotional (i won't spoil them but to anyone who has already played i'm sure you know what i mean) felt so heart-wrenching that i actually started tearing up too 😭 she is very gorgeous to me.

watched a stream of the last fontaine archon quest and now im gonna cry and think of neuvi and silvie
since ive watched it twice now i can actually make a timeline (with my 'my ocs are the mc' rewrite) this is very long i am sorry
arle's first meeting with furina & neuvi, she has reason to be sus about neuvi and tries to dig up anything on him but all she has to work with is that silvanus, his assistant, spends the most time with him
she also knows nikolai and silvanus are siblings and drops the bomb at the start of the meeting that niko has been in the care of the house of the hearth this whole time after being sold and tries to imply silvanus is partially guilty since she reaped the benefits from their parents, knowing that neuvillette was recently made aware of this. to try and get a Reaction from either of them by creating conflict
the meeting goes on after silvanus is excused and at the end of it theres this awkward silence before neuvi immediately goes into Professional Mode wanting to make the arrangements to send [my other ocs] down to meropide to See Whats Up and silvie kinda goes nuts, silvie in near hysterics and neuvi not knowing how to deal with it and tries to be Rational which only sets her off even more like 'oh of course a dragon couldnt under human emotions' before just. shutting down. and going on autopilot professional mode to get my other ocs down to meropide
she ends up going there herself and fills wrio in on everything up until the primordial water gate floods open and wrio has her go get neuvillette. who is already on his way down and silvanus keeps an eye out on furina while meeting with arle again
after the crisis, arle starts questioning silvanus abt her own thoughts on furina and is about to start asking about neuvi when he shows back up to see a distressed looking silvanus before arle takes her leave
neuvi tries to talk with silvanus alone after that but then SHE throws the professionalism card at him and leaves (then it starts raining ahhahahaha)
and throughout the entire act 5 they are both in Profession Mode and do not get to talk privately since they both working constantly dealing with everything. shes in on the plan to put furina on trial trades info to and from wrio on the whole thing
when shit hits the fan, the whale attacks and the death sentence happens. She Knows Something Big happens when neuvi mentions having the power to stop the whale now and gives her a nod and a 'ill leave the rest to you' before leaving (all while dropping any sort of professional honorifics during the heat of it all)
and her neurotic brain is just FREAKING OUT because she doesnt know if he actually left her in charge of the nation while he was fight the whale or if he was gonna DIE trying to stop it and then she WOULD be in charge of fontaine
it doesnt help that the flooding starts while hes gone but SOMEHOW they arent dissolving but is able to coordinate the search and rescue operations w/ navia and the others
and when the water recedes and he shows back up. she does not give any shits and tackle hugs him, clinging to him like a tree, front of the entire nation.LMAO
after the crisis comes to an end and the dust settles there is absolutely an article in the steambird about their secret office romance and charlotte is foaming at the mouth wanting an interview asap
ok theres my cringe do not look at me good bye and good night

Why do you not like neuvifuri? I'm just curious :0
crack open a cold one with me anon this is gonna be a bit of reading...
first off if you ship it (anyone who reads this) im so happy for you just tag it and we'll be fine i'm not going to hunt people down or whatever anyways if you love it DONT CLICK THE READ MORE!!!!!!
ok so like. i just think their dynamic isnt as wholesome/lovely as a lot of shippers make them out to be especially on furina's side. i believe they both care for each other BUT they don't understand each other.
neuvillette wishes her well and respects her BUT until focalors explained her master plan to him he didn't fully understand the depths of her stress and trauma. remember how in 4.1 furina was nervous about meeting arlecchino by herself and at first neuvillette thought she was just being dramatic? yeah. also he respects her and knows she's more than her public dramatic persona but he also doesn't like being seen as The Same as her (him telling traveler and paimon he doesn't agree with her on everything when they didn't even mention her) and publicly he even praises nahida more than her praises her, since he usually plays the "role" of being the Actual Responsible Man vs. furina.
and while furina does respect neuvillette and tries to rely on him (as like the aforementioned arlecchino meeting) she also finds it incredibly hard to open up to him and thinks he might hold some anger towards her post-4.2 AQ. and im not just talking about furina not being able to tell neuvillette about her whole masquerade. she doesn't even tell him about arlecchino's assault, leaving him to at first assume she just didn't want to go to the meeting by herself, and then eventually coming up with his own conclusion after the meeting. and after seeing furina's whole deal i think it's safe to assume she didn't tell him because she didn't want to be seen as weak or have any doubts cast on her which is like. really fucking sad.
it's like... frustrating as both a neuvillette AND furina fan (but especially as a furina fan) to see people gloss over the complexity of their relationship and just shove them into a feel-good "archon and her loyal dragon!" dynamic when canon pretty much beats us over the head with "yeah these two work together and trust each other but they don't really KNOW each other." maybe if they had more of the actual dynamic in the ship i wouldn't dislike it so much but anyways.
there's... a lot more stuff i could complain about re: most shippers talking points (conflating focalors with furina, saying she's the only/main one who helped him understand humanity) BUT that's on them and not the canon dynamic itself lol. and also we would be here All Day.
in summary i really don't like it when complex, close relationships are just grossly oversimplified or straight up ignored for an easier time with shipping to the point where they become a common or at least noticeably significant fanon interpretation. especially since a lot of it in this ship (imo) ignores a lot of furina's feelings and her own insecurities and view of neuvillette and how she thinks he feels about her.

Oh man, I'm going to go into some Fontaine 4.2 spoilers in a sec, but Furina has been catapulted into my second favorite character slot (that she's now sharing with Baizhu). Don't get me wrong, I liked her before, but after the AQ, she just. Gosh I love her. (Discussion and spoilers under the cut)
First to clarify: when I say Furina, I mean Furina and Focalors together (sort-of) since they're very much different characters, but also closely linked.
I really like the introduction we get to Furina. I love that she's over-the-top and dramatic, claiming herself to just "know such things, as a God does" about the Traveler visiting (oh and how her sending out informants across Teyvat was actually explained as to why she did that). The citizens talking about her as a 'mascot' and just, her having an air of putting on a show to make herself seem more grand. It comes across as vain, or at the very least, grossly overconfident. However, as the plot unfolds, we get to see cracks in the facade she puts on. But what does it mean? Is she actually weak? Does she actually have a deep disregard for her people? By the time we're going to bring her to trial, it kind of seems that way. It seems like she's been slacking off all this time while everyone else in Fontaine has been devising a plan to save the nation.
Then we learn the truth.
The way everything falls into place once Focalors reveals her master plan is so deliciously tragic. Of course Furina is afraid of fighting or facing off against the Knave. She's just a human, one without any vision or combat experience. And her dismissive, aloof, grandiose act is all her somewhat naive idea of how people might see an Archon. It's not even the first persona she tries! When being humble doesn't work, she resorts to an image of someone for whom mere mortals are beneath because it will keep people from questioning her. Really the order she was given was so incredibly tall: convince the nation that you're a God without performing any divine acts. Or even weilding Hydro. But she does it.
Every day she carries out this persona because she knows that, if she fails, everyone will die. Their blood will be on her hands, so she keeps it up, even when she's passed her breaking point. She doesn't even know if her other hall's plan will actually work, has no concrete way to reassure her people because she's been told nothing other than her duties. The fact that she chose not to let down her guard at her lowest, even when she felt convinced by the Traveler is wild. Her resolve is insane, especially considering that she couldn't confide in anyone.
I love the way we get to experience her inner world on the matter as well. That we're placed in a big empty opera house, constantly on a stage with spotlights, hearing voices with no faces. And the music backing off in that section to highlight the feeling of isolation. Not to mention getting to take control of her character so everything that's happening js directed at YOU, I think that was an excellent use of the video game medium.
And just when I thought her character couldn't get any more tragic, it does because she basically gets to witness the prophecy come true. She wasn't present for the conversation between Neuvillette and Focalors, so from all she can tell, Neuvillette and Traveler disappear with her alone in the opera house, witnessing it fill with water as she most likely thinks SHE is responsible for it.
When the water recedes and she comes out, probably expecting abandoned devastation, only for her pace to quicken as she realizes that everyone is still there. The prophecy didn't come to pass. She didn't fail. Man, that got me to cry more than just about anything else in Fontaine.
I just really love Furina, ok. I love the tragedy of her story, and her resolve, and how even the game audience is fooled by her performance. Considering everything, she did such a good job given the hand she was dealt. It makes me so happy that she's finally free of this burden and gets a chance to heal and find the peace and happiness that she's been denied for so long. That her story, her life, won't just end in tragedy.

thoughts about the end of fontaine (ACT 4)
Tumblr media
reading this line really made me feel like it was some sort of shade, or like manipulation in a way, a way to continue to shame furina but subtly. "Those who work hard deserve gratitude and praise." As if Furina isn't working hard (although Neuvillette mentioned in like act 2 that she'd been keeping herself up late at night or something trying to figure it out)
And as if Furina wasn't there, in a way? Maybe I'm seeing way too into this and seeing stuff that isn't there
I've also noticed she's done a lot of baiting in a way? Like, so, she acts all worried about Childe to bait Paimon into saying something to 'sooth her worries'. And then immediately questions it at all while also getting an understanding of what we've found on that part.
(it might just be because I've been pretty cautious of her, and reading her lines carefully for manipulation tactics? Or any I understand anyway)
I do think Furina does have a plan, or at least an idea of what to do, but also. The Knave likely seems terrifying, someone that'll tear down through all her plans, and then after that, what does she have next? I like to think that she's scared of saying this whole grand plan, and The Knave scoffing and laughing at her, like 'that's it?' Because at the end of the day she has feelings, she doesn't know how to talk to people, and she gets hurt easily.
Admittedly, I think I see her as a bit of a child (which would make sense considering she's newer in a way? I don't know the circumstances, of course, but I'd imagine it would be hard to try to figure out what her place in all of this is, and how to interact with the people. They probably worshipped her because she was a god, but in the end I think she's very self-conscious. Not that she isn't bratty or selfish at times, or annoying, but from what I understand of her, she kind of does stuff mostly because the people expect her to? Like, she didn't prop up the idea of a duel until the people around us were being like 'ohh is she gonna fight the traveler' or something like that, I can't remember exactly, but then back in the magic show iirc, people were also like 'Furina's gonna [blah blah blah]' which pushed her to y'know. Do stuff. Not that it isn't her fault for doing it, but I think she has reasons, and is easily peer pressured.
(Also maybe I'm giving her too much credit, but if she's panicking over the prophecy publicly, how do you think the people would react? Although it would probably sooth the worries of those wondering if shes even doing anything or worried about it. Also, idk man, I see being an archon as a huge load of responsibility, so maybe I've just been giving her a lot of slack. Idk. But this is also coming from a person who doesn't actually dislike her, so.)
Basically. I do understand where people are coming from because yeah Furina can get annoying, and I'm probably reading into this wrong and she's possibly a horrible person who has no respect for others or whatever. But I'd like to think she has her own reasons, and we'll find out in the future.
Although I do realize that we haven't actually seen even a hint of Furina's power. We've seen Venti's when we were blown into the sky and shot at Dvalin in Mondstadt, technically we saw Zhongli being a huge dragon (which if that doesn't speak powerful, then idk what does), the Raiden Shogun has the thunderstorms surrounding the island, not to mention how lightning strikes are often, or the stories about her being really powerful, something to be feared (for example kazuhas story about his friend), and we saw Nahida during the samsara festival.
(This is me talking about hints in the first few acts, NOT the end)
Furina on the other hand? Nothing, nada. However we have seen Neuvillette, especially during Act 2 during the trial where he took down Childe so easily, Childe who we know how powerful he is canonically considering he has his own boss fight, and we know what number harbinger he is.
We see his power again when he pushes back the primordial water.
It's really interesting.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE FONTAINE ARCHON QUEST
I just finished the Fontaine Archon Quest, and I have some thoughts. More under the cut!
Warning: contains spoilers for the story.
QUEST BREAKDOWN
Chapter 4 Act 1 - Prelude of Blancher and Noirceur
The first act is quite short, and flows very smoothly, in my opinion. We are first introduced to some of Fontaine's characters, the most import ones being the twins, Lyney and Lynette. The storyline is good, but we're also introduced to the basic way things work in Fontaine.
I like the end of this act the most, I think. Lyney's big performance is really, really good - and it has the perfect shock factor once the rope snapped. I love guessing plot twists, but I genuienly couldn't figure this one out!!
Honestly, I didn't expect death from Genshin. I know we've had characters dying multiple times before, but never like this! Although he wasn't that important to the story, it still quite shocked me. (My mouth was agape for like 5 minutes after, lol)
Chapter 4 Act 2 - As Light Rain Falls Without Reason
The second act is pretty short too. It didn't feel dragged out and with lots of unnecessary dialogue (yeah, I'm looking at you, Sumeru). The most important character is definitely Navia here.
The story is good and well thought-out. I liked how they solved the missing women case. That part where the Oceanids/women came for Vacher was so scary tho?? Like they just casually dropped that he lost his soul. What.
Chapter 4 Act 3 - To The Stars Shining
The begining of act 3 was a little fast-paced, considering that we found out Childe was missing and everything.
Neuvillette looked so good tho😻
I like how they designed Fortress of Meropide, yet I don't understand certain important things. For example, how is the fortress' entrance at the Opera Epiclese, yet it's actually in the sees under the Liffey Region? Strange if you ask me. I love the steampunk vibes, tho!
For me, this part of the archon quest was the most boring and most dragged-out one. For the majority of the quest you are either working, investigating or sleeping. And literally nothing else. It really annoyed me that we manually had to return to our bunk to sleep!
Chapter 4 Act 4 - Cataclysm's Quickening
The first half of this quest - up to the point we talk to Wriothesley - is also very boring to me. Nothing significant happens. I feel like they could've done without this part.
Much is explained in this act, including the reasoning behind Fountaine's prophecy and it's eventual downfall. The storyline with the boat wasn't bad, and I liked how some characters liked Wriothesley while the others didn't - he also seemed like such a villain when Lyney thought he kidnapped Lynette.
We meet with Arlecchino, which was a much less significant character in the storyline than I thought she was going to be. The gnosis is mentioned only like, 5 times in the entire quest, and The Knave is about the same amount, too. I'm not saying that's bad, we are just used to the Fatui being the main problems in these Archon quests.
Chapter 4 Act 5 - Masquerade of the Guilty
This act was... Wow. What an end to this chapter of the quest. I mean, so many things happened! It was a rollercoaster of emotions. First of all, I was so sad when Navia's friends died. So much death in this quest!
The trial against Furina was painful to read. Her attitude is just so infuriating, yet the whole thing is really really interesting and the story is, as always, so great! It was such a shock when the Hydro Archon was sentanced to death!
However, Focaloros' plan was brilliant and I have to say, I underestimated her as an Archon. At first, I was a little sceptical on how she was one of The Seven, but I get it now. Also, I'm very sad that she's dead. Her sentance was so unfair to her, yet she did what was right for her people and I respect that.
Neuvillette was amazing in this part of the story, as well. I'm glad that he has the Hydro Archon's power now.
QUEST SUMMARY
new characters we met:
5 ☆ Lyney (bow, pyro): good character, a very concerned brother. he lied to us but for a good reason - turned out he's in the Fatui.
4 ☆ Lynette (sword, anemo): quiet, reserved, an assistant to Lyney.
4 ☆ Freminet (claymore, cryo): same as Lynette, but more shy
5 ☆ Navia (claymore, geo): passionate, brave and adventuristic. she runs a major organisation called Spina di Rosula. during the quests she turns into a real friend of us (plus she looks like Taylor Swift in the fearless era!!)
5 ☆ Neuvillette (catalyst, hydro): 😻😻😻. I'm in love. Literally. I'm so thankful the Genshin team desided to give us more very handsome men in Fontain. he's also a great character, and wields great power. (currently saving up primogems for him)
5 ☆ Furina (sword, hydro): might be an unpopular opinion, but I HATED her character. she's obnoxious, she's self-centered, and while I know it's only to put on a show for her citizens, I still don't like her.
5 ☆ Wriothesley (catalyst, cryo): I'm actually lucky enough to have Wriothesley in my team currently, and honestly, I really recommend him as cryo!!! I love his play style, and he's just been fitting into my team so well! aside that, i really like his personality as well. he's a bit playful and sure, just a tiny bit cocky, yet still sweet.
4 ☆ Charlotte (catalyst, cryo): a very annoying character to me as well. she's too pushy for my taste.
new info we gathered:
Lyney and Lynette are working under the House of Hearts, a Fatui organization based in Fontaine.
the "father" of their house is Arlecchino, the 4th of the 11 Fatui Harbingers, who's been sent to Fontaine to take the Hydro gnosis
Even though used as a punishment, the Fortress of Meropide is a separate institution from Fontaine's justice system and oparates separately. The "leader" of the fortress is Wriothesley, an ex-criminal.
Neuvillette is the hydro dragon sovereign.
Furina isn't the actual archon - she's the cursed human version of Focalors, placed on Teyvat for the last five hundred years to display the image of an archon. After Focalors' death, she turned into a normal human, and will continue on to lead a normal life.
Focalors, the true archon, served a death sentance to be able to save her people from the terrible prophecy. She left all of her power to Neuvillette.
Neuvillette gave the gnosis to Arlecchino as a gift, showing once again no resistance to the Fatui harvesting these materials.
Our next destionation is Natlan, the pyro nation. We learn from Neuvillette that Natlan is a country of war and dragons.
As for our sibling, we have learned nothing new. (Shocking, I know)
All in all, Fontaine is a beautiful new region which I cannot wait to explore fully. I think that the genshin team really outdid themselves (yet again). The story could have been changed just a tiny bit (were 5 acts really necessary?), but nevermind. We've got amazing new characters which I'm glad to play with, and a new little piece to the giant puzzle we call Genshin Impact.
Thanks for reading! Hope my guide helped. Follow for more!!

Fontaine thoughts:
Love Furina! She’s got just as much chaotic energy as I knew she would, however, one thing that a lot of people thought is that she would be completely amoral and merciless in her judgments of everyone around her. Even though she is quite impulsive and egotistical, she clearly felt embarrassment and even remorse for accusing an innocent person of murder, demonstrated by her maturity in the following trial. I’m curious to see where her character goes, and I wanna have a private conversation with her since all our talks have been in public so she’s always been using a dramatic persona.
Not sure what to think of Lyney and Lynette after all that. Them being in the fatui was a really good plot twist. I think they do genuinely think they’re doing the right thing, and given their backstory it makes sense why they’d trust the house of hearth and the knave, but this means that we might end up on opposing sides when it comes down to stealing the gnosis. Honestly, if I believed Arlecchino really would help the people of Fontaine with it, I wouldn’t have a problem, Furina doesn’t seem to be doing much with it, but obviously the fatui have ulterior motives. I just hope the twins find out they’re being deceived before we have to fight them. Very excited to see them again and I’m definitely still pulling for Lyney.
About their backstory… they never mentioned Freminet. Im assuming that he’s not their biological brother, but I still have questions. When did they take him in? Is he an orphan too? Does he know they’re fatui? What does he think of it? Is he from the house of hearth too? I need more than his 2 minute cameo!!! Where is my boy?!
Traveler’s kind of a hypocrite though, judging the twins for being fatui even with good intentions while being amicable frienemies with mr. impulsively violent fatui harbinger.
I don’t like Childe and seeing him get cocky and then get his ass beat again was nice (also I thought that I saw Furina stand up to stop him so when the smoke cleared and it was Neuvillette I was shocked). But I don’t think he deserved to be imprisoned for something he didn’t do. It’s weird how much people trust that oritrice to make final judgements. They’re putting people’s lives and fates in the hands of some machine. I knew it would malfunction when judging Childe, hearing that it never went against Neuvillette was like Chekhov’s gun. The oritrice has definitely captured my interest.
The trials themselves were incredible. Trials in real life are so boring, but I can see now why the people of Fontaine think of trials as stories. I got serious whiplash, especially from the first trial, but the whole back and forth made it really interesting. Also the logic chain and rebuttal mechanics were really cool. I love that they’re getting more into interactive elements like that, I hope that they do more stuff like this in the future.
The cutscenes were incredible. The Clorinde fight was beautiful but I think my favorite was Lynsey’s switching trick. Having the tension being built by Lyney’s purposely staged panic just to mess with the audience and then revealing that actually everything went fine just as the tank came crashing down! My jaw dropped at that part. I don’t think genshin ever murdered anyone on screen before. It surprised me even though I already knew what would happen from the trailer. I thought the accident with the tank would happen with Lynette’s trick, I think that was intentionally misleading. They have so many good red herrings and foreshadowing in this!
Don’t really have any opinions on Neuvillette. Don’t really get the hype for him. But I do know that he’s a dragon. I love how they sort of sprinkle in the clues for that gradually. I first talked to the melusine at the opera door and she said he had been nice to them for hundreds of years and I was like weird but okay. Then I saw him up close and his eyes, ears, and hair antennae things. And later I noticed that it always rained when Neuvillette was sad, like how Freminet said it would spontaneously rain when the hydro dragon was sad. But Neuvillette works with Furina and tolerates her. I thought the primordial dragons hated the gods considering y’know they stole their land and places as the rulers of Teyvat. I guess I am kind of interested in Neuvillette from that perspective.
The only part I did feel bored during was the first half of act 2. I think I know the reason for that. I like Navia, but I don’t love her. She’s a great person and a great character, but she’s not the kind of character that I’m personally interested in. She also isn’t nearly enough to shoulder an entire archon quest act on her own. Act 2 felt less like an archon quest and more like a Navia story quest. The first act was mainly about Lyney and Lynette, but it also prominently featured Furina, Neuvillette, and Navia herself. The second act we spent almost all of our time with Navia which quickly become mundane. Besides her there were very short cameos from Clorinde and Neuvillette, and then at the very end with the trial there was Furina, Neuvillette, Childe, and briefly Clorinde. About 90% of it was just with Navia though. I just wish there were more characters both so that we could get a fresh dynamic and a break from Navia and also that other characters can get a chance to have some screentime. Between her being prominently featured in the first act and being the main character of the second, I hope Navia takes a back seat for the rest of the archon quest and lets some other characters have the spotlight. I believe this would probably happen because it feels like Navia’s part of the story has concluded with getting justice for her father. Again, I liked the story, I just wish there was more to it than Navia.
The land scenery and architecture are pretty cool, but the oceans blew me away. There’s so much to see about them! I can also tell they took people with a fear of the ocean into mind because underwater it’s incredibly bright and well light all the way down to the sea floor, unlike the real oceans which are terrifying and foreboding underneath. Also as a former sky cotl player, I’m very grateful that genshin doesn’t have oxygen/something that functions like it and we can explore unlimited, and that the swimming controls actually work really well. And the underwater combat is fun. I like that we can’t use our characters abilities and have to rely on our surroundings.
As I thought they threw 40 different puzzle mechanics at us at once and now the tutorials for them are all buried under each other in my menu and I don’t know how any of them work. I’ll have to figure them out at some point if I plan on getting all the hydroculi. I heard there are gonna be as many as Sumeru. I don’t even have half the ones in Sumeru.
Not loving the new combat thing with the opposing energies, whatever they’re each called, ouija and pneumonia or something. Especially since I don’t know how to work their puzzles. I think they only implemented them because they felt like they needed something that would totally shake the meta like the introduction of dendro did, so they just gave Fontaine their own special combat boost. I don’t actually know how good the new system is for meta, haven’t heard anything about it. Maybe that’s just because there’s only 2 Fontaine characters out now.

finally playing the archon quest here are my live thoughts
melus and silver oh no! they weee good npcs i will remember them
mona she’s so cute
poor navia we have been with her through some of the most traumatic moments of her life
lowkey wanted to ship navia and the knave for a second there but their color pallets are so contrasting i couldn’t
10 minutes of my life lost forever to talk about hunting metaphors
i don’t think i’m in a rush but this is so wordy though i do appreciate character building and a walk down memory lane but sheesh like i’m getting sleepy yawn
i’ve been at this since like uhhh it’s been over 3 maybe 4 hours god help
whoever said this quest wasn’t that long (they might have talking about a different archon quest) has to die i’m so serious
furina my dear she’s so cute very lovely
oh no my lovely furina
all fontainians being fish and water people is kind of crazy
childe is like a blorbo in law he’s not my love but my friend loves him so i have to squeal and coo when he makes an appearance and he was very cool
this all is kind of funny cause creating artificial people is almost always a sin like homunculus or clones like you’re almost always going to get smited by the divine for messing with the laws of nature i assure 9 times out of 10 they’re gonna fucking lose it on you for that
focalors design makes me itch
furina my poor girl my poor lady
oh my poor poor furina
if i was a god i would be a silly one who just makes flowers bloom or dances in the breeze i have no desire for any piece of authority that shit sounds like monkey balls especially if you want to be a good god a trickster god actually sounds nice
aww neuvillette
i still cant vibe with skirk’s design but her personality is good
there goes childe my pookie in law
who?
this shit is long as ball
i’m pleased that charlotte has appeared throughout these fontaine ordeals especially since she was the first fontaine character we met
HOW LONG? IS THIS?
i had to take a break to do life stuff so mind you i started this at 8 in the morning it is past midnight so it’s the next day we are almost done but probably not probably still gonna take another fucking hour throw me off a cliff!
the knave was nice i look forward to working with her in the future but her model irritates me she seems like the person to stand with her legs together but her model makes them stand apart like her very sleek and streamline form is ruined by her wide leg posture and i don’t appreciate it
if a person from fontaine and a person from sumeru had a child would they still dissolve? if two fontainians moved to inazuma and had a kid there would they still dissolve? what about generations later after mixing with native inazumans? i feel maybe this was mentioned but i don’t remember
wait whose descender 1 and 2 then? cause i thought one of them was the heavenly principles and the other was the primordial one unless they’re the same thing
where’s furina…

//ok my monster thoughts about the AQ
Ok first off Paimon read the freaking room omfg like please! Do you not see the state of Possion?! Like she just lost the two closest people in her life. On top of that I was crying laughing when Neuvillette showed up and clearly saw her going through it but he legit perked up and was so happy to hear how Sigewinne is doing like bruh XD
That out of the way lets get to the most talked about parts of the AQ
First the imfamous Childe throw by Skirk…honestly it’s actually what I expect from her. Listen Hoyo loves teasing us so they’re not going to show all dynamics with her. If anything this is a clear sign of her character especially as she referred to an all consuming whale as a pet. Her chucking Childe goes to show she’s not super entuned with human nature, given how long she’s been in the abyss makes sense. Bottomline I didn’t take away from the scene as comedic, yeah it got a little chuckle but after I heard how Skirk talked about him makes sense, Childe is the stray cat she found in the dumpster, stinky baby.
Moving onto the Focalor and Furina, yeah Furina needs a god damn hug and I’m taking her away from Focalor! My jaw dropped when I saw the hundreds of tally marks as she had to go through basically the same day for over five hundred years with the only thing keeping her going is Focalor’s message. God my poor bubble like she probably wanted to tell Neuvillette so many times but couldn’t I’m sobbing.
I do feel they could have hinted more at Focalor being separated, it would have made her sacrifice feel more impactful like Rukka’s but I digress she needed to be completely hidden in order to defy the heavenly principles which good for you girl. I just don’t like how Furina’s ‘reward’ for all of this is to live as a human like…five hundred years to get maybe at most sixty years? It does not seem fair or just, her suffering worth so little.
Neuvillette honestly was going through it but I’m so happy he wasn’t ‘betrayed’ by Furina like how a lot of us were predicting. I do however wished he had the like big emotional moment with her and not Focalor.
A thing I really liked is how the Fatui for once are not blamed for what happened and instead actually helped the nation out. The Knave said it best that organizations with abundances of resources should lend a hand no matter sides. She came to Fontaine first to save her home get the gnosis second. I am sensing the building blocks of her being friendly towards us for when she eventually becomes playable and yeah wincing and mourning the loss of her being the mean queen but who knows we still need Fontaine’s second world boss.
Nobody else said it but I am so mad at the lack of more Remurina lore! Like how can you heavily talk about it last quest and barely any mention of it?! I hear maybe in the future we will be getting more but I’m all huffy
So glad to see the arc was used, a small part of me felt like the arc in the fortress was never going to be used as a plot point so very glad I wasn’t disappointed.
Now onto the extra info at the end…the gnosis being the remains of the third descender is def giving JJK Sukuna fingers vibes lol like what the Tsarista gonna collect them all consume them and get the power of a descender hehehehehe…..
Anyways! Natlan crumbs and it’s the nation of war and dragons like hello!
Overall I don’t typically play Archon Quests expecting anything, I always set my expectations low so I don’t get unintentionally mad some bit I was hoping for isn’t add. I don’t really expect hoyo to really get into the nitty gritty details especially with archon quests and with a track record of many of the final acts falling short I was expecting this a fifth time.
I give this AQ as a whole a 6.9/10
The build up was great the cutscenes amazing urgency all the way until the end. There are ofc some parts where it fell flat but I still greatly enjoyed this quest.

I just finished up act 1 of the fontaine archon quests and oh. oh my god. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT THIS POST IF YOU ARE AVOIDING SPOILERS THANK YOU!!! Also warning ramblings ahead, my thoughts are always completely out of order and also possibly incoherent at times.
Holy shit. Okay first of all I literally almost cried when Childe showed up. I have missed him SO MUCH oh my god. AND HE TRUSTS US WITH HIS VISION????? I'M LITERALLY GOING TO DIE. I'm sad he wasn't around for long but considering he needs to get his vision back at some point I know I'll get to see him again. I'm sorry him wanting an excuse to talk to us again I'm so emotional my HEART.
And LYNEY AND LYNETTE ARE FATUI????? WHAT. That trial was CRAZY but I feel so bad for Navia because I totally want to be partners with her and unfortunately it seems traveler does NOT want that but I'm invested in these disappearances. I get it though, traveler is probably sick of having to help everyone in existence all the time when the whole goal is trying to find their sibling. However. I personally want to help. LOL.
I can't figure out how I feel about Arlecchino knowing what I do now after Lyney told us about his backstory. I really don't trust her but on the other hand she doesn't sound like she's that bad? Maybe? Idk the very idea of trusting a harbinger makes me nervous of feeling BETRAYED because I remember back in Liyue when I realized Childe was actually against us and I felt SO UPSET. Even now like, I love him, but also I cannot for the life of me bring myself to trust him. Sidenote: he mentioned fishing with Teucer and that Teucer said something and I can't be the only one so curious about what it was bc Teucer is such a sweet kid. I can't wait to go to Snezhnaya bc SURELY we get to meet Childe's family. I didn't mean to start rambling about him but here we are. Whoops?
Anyways CHARACTER IMPRESSIONS! I think Furina is really fun and cute. I really like her flair for dramatics, even if it's always a bit much. And Neuvillette, omg? I really really like him too. I was sorta expecting him to be kinda cold, just based off his resting expression and his overall design I suppose, but he was actually really polite and I thought he seemed nice. I'm definitely excited to see more of him. As for Navia, honestly? She's so pretty. Like, wow, pretty. I love her style and her personality and she seems really overeager to work with us and it makes me feel bad because she was just so disappointed. Though with how this always goes I'm certain we'll end up working together anyways. Lyney and Lynette are sweet and I really enjoyed being with them, it's a shame traveler can't trust them after learning they're actually fatui, but frankly I don't blame traveler that much. I hope we'll get to be with them again soon though. I really want to pull for Lyney but one more Benny con and it's over for me, so alas, I must hold off as long as I can. Maybe eventually though, I think he's genuinely very kind and I like that a lot about him. I don't think I've seen much of anyone else, so I don't really have any further first impressions, but I'm very excited to see where this goes next. Now I have to sleep though, I spent way longer playing than I meant to. LOL
