Summary: Whilst attempting to find Sebastian, instead you stumble upon his memories. Events take an unexpected turn when he finds you.

A/n: Is this even possible? Who knows. I had a vague idea of 'pensieve porn' whilst falling asleep last night and decided to follow through. I'm meant to be on hiatus, whoops. *Throws this out and runs away*.
You'd not frequented the Undercroft in quite some time, finding the place held too many memories you'd rather forget. It had been a source of comfort once, but after so much turmoil two years ago you preferred to find your solitude in the room of requirement. In fact, only Sebastian still used the cold, vaulted room buried underneath the castle—as far as you could surmise, mostly for target practice. Your boyfriend wasn't often found alone these days, but even he needed time alone when not busy devouring your body. Ominis simply retreated to one of his many napping spots when the world became too much to bear.
It was with some trepidation that you approached the cabinet with the clock face now. Silly as it was, after all you'd been through, to allow a room to elicit such uncomfortable feelings. But you needed to find your boyfriend, who had disappeared several hours ago in a huff. The argument was nothing new, but you knew you'd pushed too far. Bringing up his worst mistake had crossed the line and you knew it, so here you were, on your knees and grovelling for forgiveness. With a tap of your wand, the clock face began to click and whirr, the door swinging open to allow you access to the pitch black passageway.
Silence enveloped you as you began the descent, heartbeat picking up slightly the more steps you travelled. The dim firelight of the Undercroft was visible now, the grate all that separated you. Still, it was silent. Perhaps he wasn't here; perhaps you should have retreated then. Curiosity pulled you further, past the grate which scraped shut behind you and clattered to the floor. Just as cold as you remembered, the only humanity provided by the sofa strewn with books and battered training dummies. You smiled despite yourself, smelling the lingering scent of fire and musk you associated with Sebastian.
Your feet took you further into the room, gaze drifting over the disarray until it landed on the pensieve that had remained untouched since appearing years ago. Surrounded by the triptych, the stone basin stood not inert, but swirling with pearlescent ripples—a memory. Surely, this wasn't that same memory you'd bottled and stored; the revelation of Isadora's motives? Standing over the pensieve, you squinted at the contents, noticing the slight gold glint to the memory; it looked different, somehow. Something told you that this particular memory didn't belong to Miss Morganach.
Leave.
You told yourself to walk away, yet you found yourself leaning over the basin, drawn to it like a moth to a flame. That flicker of curiosity stoked into a roaring fire the longer you stared at the contents. Into the pensieve you delved, allowing the rush of cold to envelop you, sending you hurtling into the memory with a force that made your head spin. Your feet appeared to hit solid ground, an illusion that nonetheless felt real. Staggering a little to right yourself, the scene in front of you was nothing you'd ever expected, nor were the sounds that filled your ears.
You recognised Sebastian at once by the back of his fluffy brunet mane, his freckled back, that delectable arse. He was completely naked, legs spread and bent slightly over a figure you couldn't quite make out. Your heart twisted in fear until you took a step to the side to reveal…yourself, splayed on a bed you recognised as Sebastian's, back arched and writhing with pleasure. The cacophony of pleasurable moans you'd heard had been your own, mixed with those of your boyfriend's. Judging by the state of you both, you were quite far into this particular session.
“Sebastian…oh, fuck!”
Perhaps it should have made you recoil in embarrassment to hear yourself coming undone in the depths of this memory, yet it took your breath away and reared a hunger deep inside you. You felt like an imposter; a ridiculous thought, maybe; but this was Sebastian's recollection, and you were here uninvited. But you couldn't tear your eyes away as he pounded into your flushed and limp body, legs thrown over his shoulders and close to tears. You recognised this particular memory as one that had occurred a month previous—you’d spent the day teasing Sebastian to near insanity and this has been the product. It had been an unforgettable night.
“Don't think you can get away with that again,” he growled, his powerful thrusts shunting you up the bed.
You gasped in tandem with memory-you, instinctively reaching out a hand for Sebastian's glistening skin. You phased right through him, and the disappointment was palpable. No matter, the view was enough to hold your attention. You could tell your mirage was close by the way your face contorted and legs shook uncontrollably. As your eyes fell on Sebastian's cock impaling you, the skin between you already slick with combined arousal, you felt yourself ache with a very real need. Sebastian fucked you harder, faster, pushing you over the edge and continuing his pace with unrelenting force. A smirk crept across his face you'd not noticed in the moment of your orgasm, a smug and self-satisfied smile that made you want to either slap him or jump his bones.
To your dismay, the memory evaporated before you could see the conclusion. Surely that hadn't been the end? As you recalled, there were hours left of that particular night. No, the forceful ripping from the scene and tug at your collar had you gasping for breath, re-emerging back in the Undercroft with a stumble.
“Enjoying yourself?”
The smooth, silken voice brushed your ear and a familiar warmth enveloped your back. Your collar still pulled uncomfortably around your windpipe.
“You…you kept the memories here?” you gasped.
Sebastian's hands slithered around your waist, pressing a kiss to your nape.
“I like to peruse them every once in a while. That one's my particular favourite.”
“Me too. I'd never thought of watching such things in a pensieve.”
Sebastian finally spun you around, trapping you between his firm body and the cold stone of the pensieve which dug into your behind. The memory still swirled beneath your fingertips as you gripped the side of the basin. Your boyfriend had that irresistible glint in his eyes that somehow darkened the chocolate brown irises, pulling you in, powerless to stop the attraction. Just as you'd fallen into the swirling pensieve, you could have delved into those eyes, drawn to their depth and promises of love, comfort and indescribable pleasure. Sebastian gripped you tightly, possessively, tilting your chin to keep you looking before capturing your waiting lips in a passionate kiss.
Through shortened breaths, you responded eagerly as your hands found his soft hair, so ripe for tugging. A low rumble grew in his chest, his hands wandering, tugging at your uniform to rid you of these wretched clothes.
“Clearly you enjoyed it,” he chuckled. “Look at you…all flushed. I'll bet you're soaking wet for me already.”
His fingers grazed your neck as he perused the rising pink blush. He was right, of course; watching him defile you like that in such clarity had wound you so tightly that your cunt pulsed and ached for his touch. Your head fell sideways and eyelids drooped, and you saw the flicker of a smirk in your periphery; the same such smile that had tugged at his lips when he'd had you coming apart underneath him.
“Seb…”
“Shall we make a new memory?” he whispered in your ear.
You shuddered, from the slither of warm breath down your neck and the tantalising prospect put forth. He didn't wait for a reply; the question had been rhetorical. Of course you'd say yes, your body already malleable like putty in his hands. He undressed you first with his eyes and then with his hands, sliding the cotton from your shoulders before attacking your bare skin with his mouth. The chill of the Undercroft couldn't compete with the warmth of his lips, his tongue. Still your skin prickled underneath him, nipples peaking as he made quick work of your remaining garments. The ribbon of your stay had fallen away with the merest suggestion.
He'd barely touched you, and you suspected magic at play.
“Are you going to take me over the pensieve?” you asked jokingly.
“I wonder,” he hummed. “Would you like to watch the memory again whilst I fuck you? Consider it an experiment.”
Oh, he was deadly serious. He pulled open the buttons on his trousers and pushed the fabric down to his thighs proudly letting his girthy cock spring free.
“Tell me how much you want it, darling.”
“So much…”
With a whimper, you dropped to your knees which froze against the cold stone and sent shivers up your entire body. Only the warmth of your arousal kept you from shaking uncontrollably, the heat of overwhelming lust that coursed through your veins. From this vantage point you could appreciate his impressive cock nestled in coarse, dark hair. The vein that protruded from the underside throbbed under your thumb as you took him in your hand, licking the swollen tip with a wanton moan.
“Mmmh- fuck, such a greedy girl…”
The heady smell you’d encountered upon entering the room assaulted your nostrils, mixed with the scent of his arousal. It made your head spin as much as his taste, and you took him in your mouth with yet more unrestrained sounds of pleasure that echoed in the vaulted room. Sebastian threaded his fingers through your hair, massaging your scalp in rhythm to the movements of your head as you sucked him as if you’d been starved. You pressed your throbbing clit against the heel of your foot as you worked him, shifting a little to ease the ache.
“If you can bear to stop sucking my cock I’d…like to fuck you senseless now…ah!”
Sebastian groaned as you forced him deep into your throat, holding him there just long enough for him to fall forward against the pensieve behind you. Once satisfied he was reeling with pleasure, you pulled away, popping off of his cock with a farewell lazy flick of your tongue.
“Merlin’s bloody balls. Bend over. Now.”
His voice was husky and he peered down at you with an almost crazed expression, his eyes wild and teeth bared. Predatory. You knew just how to tempt him, and he you.
“Enjoying yourself?” you teased, echoing his earlier question as you stood up.
Sebastian spun you around with a hard smack to your behind that made you giggle. That laugh was stifled when he pushed and pulled you into position, your elbows crashing into the stone rim of the basin.
“I’ll be enjoying myself a lot more when I’m deep inside that pretty little cunt,” he muttered.
“Fucking hell, Seb…”
His cock rocked impatiently against your behind, fingers gliding through the slick that coated your folds until he found your entrance. You cried out as his fingers pushed inside you, gripping the pensieve tight as you gazed into the swirling waters.
“Time to take a trip down memory lane, hm?”
With a final look back at him, ingraining his face to your own memory, you plunged into his. Once again you were pulled in once your face hit the cold barrier, landing on your feet in the illusion of his bedroom. You were met by his hunched figure, and a step revealed yourself, panting and submissive beneath him. Still a passive bystander, you watched his hands palming your breasts, yet you still felt all of which happened to your body outside of the memory. You felt the pulsing and stroking of his fingers, and the retreat of them which made you gasp.
The memory of Sebastian paid your very real moans no mind, unable to respond and thoroughly absorbed by those made by the version below him. His freckled hand moved from her breasts to her neck, squeezing as his hips gathered pace. You were mesmerised and thrumming with excitement, until suddenly you’d collapsed against the bed in ecstasy. The very real Sebastian pushed his cock inside you, filling you to the brim. Your walls fluttered and you whimpered as you felt him move, caressing every nerve ending you possessed deep inside you.
The figures before you became secondary to your pleasure, but still you watched, especially enraptured by Sebastian’s dishevelled appearance and the wet slapping of skin. Your flesh pinched and bruised around your hips as his fingers held you in place above the pensieve, the coiling tension in your abdomen mounting with every thrust. Unable to stay upright, you slumped onto the mattress at the opposite end of the bed to where your memory was being pounded.
It felt as if every roll of Sebastian’s hips coincided with that of the other’s. Your brain was mush, body writhing with the endless assault to your body and the deeply erotic display in your vision.
“Sebastian…oh, fuck…”
He couldn’t hear you, but it didn’t matter, everything you did was driven by instinct now; the grab of your breast and the arch of your back; the desperate, begging eyes you made at the memory in front of you. The pleasure was so much, too much, your breath stuttering and a tear leaking from your eye. You were sure you could pull yourself out of the memory with a thought, but why would you want to do so when you were floating amongst the clouds?
“Harder…harder…”
He seemed to sense your plea in the real world, or perhaps it was how your pussy clenched around him, anticipating your climax. He fucked you with enough force to make your eyes roll back into your head, blurring your vision as you tried to keep them on the couple in front of you. Though bleary, you swore you saw this Sebastian peer up at you through his eyelashes to meet your gaze. That’s when you felt yourself tip over the edge into oblivion. Your orgasm exploded so hard you felt your breath leave your lungs, or perhaps it was the chill from being mercilessly dragged out of the memory and back into the freezing cold Undercroft. But soon, as your body writhed with pleasure under the crashing waves of your orgasm, you were encased in the warmth of Sebastian’s body as he held you, his cock pulsing as he released his load inside you.
“Seb…oh Gods, I love you…”
Sebastian chuckled and kissed your sweat-laced cheek, squeezing your chest tightly as he breathed heavily against your skin. Your muscles relaxed in his embrace as the waves ebbed, until you both stood in the room, dazed and happy.
“I love you, too. How was it?”
“Interesting. Amazing. I missed you, though. Does that make sense?” you said with a breathless chuckle.
“Maybe I’ll have to experience it for myself.”
“You work out the logistics, and I’ll be happy to show you.”

thank you so much for the transmisogyny reading post! im definitely gonna be reading into those. in a similar vein, do you have a recommended reading list for decolonization/anti-imperialism?
Do you mean molsno's post? def cannot take credit for that but yes I have a couple!
high-level recommendation is discourse on colonialism by aime cesaire (this link goes to a pdf that is a collection of essays, you can skip to cesaire's essay). probably one of the most formative essays for me personally in terms of how i think about colonialism
decolonization is not a metaphor by Tuck & Yang is a famous article in decolonial scholarship and will likely come up pretty frequently if you're reading academic work. if you read that article, i recommend following it up with Slavery is a Metaphor by Garba & Sorentino - its a Black critical commentary by two marxist scholars i believe on Tuck & Yang's work, working through the anti-Black thinking that is present in the work, particularly the deeply problematic conceptual attention given by Tuck & Yang to slavery when historicising and analyzing settler colonialism in North America. These are both academic articles and they're both jargon-laden so your mileage will vary
I originally included decolonizing transgender 101 by b binaohan on here before realizing that it's already in the linked post above lol. in that post is a link to the full book that i'll repost here (usually you can only find the introduction online) so definitely make use of that. anyway great work, very accessible and insightful, makes direct linkages between white supremacy, settler colonialism, and transmisogyny in a way i found extremely helpful
i read beyond white privilege: geographies of white supremacy and settler colonialism during my master's about four years ago (jesus christ the passage of time!!!) and found it very insightful - the authors talk about white supremacy as a process rather than a historical event, as well as talk about some of the conceptual limitations of the popular focus on white privilege (as opposed to white supremacy) that i found very helpful for me personally. its another academic article
I've been recently introduced to Anibal Quijano's work, particularly the Coloniality of Power. this is an extremely theoretical work that focuses on the construction and universalization of race, the 'invention of Europe,' modernity as a colonial construction, and a bunch of other pretty dense topics. thats not to scare you off, but its probably the most theory heavy article i've linked here
this list skews towards academic work because that's what im most familiar with (all the links i provided are open-access links so you should not need institutional access to read them). For books, you can read Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon or Orientalism by Edward Said, they're both pretty foundational decolonial texts and are also pretty formative for me. Fanon's work is on decolonial struggle and the pathologization of colonized people, Said's work is on the construction of "the East" to justify and reproduce Western hegemony.
Hope this was helpful! I'm by no means an expert and this is only scratching the surface of scholarship on the subject. I'm still in the process of reading, but hopefully this is a good starting point for you!

The Final Promise₊˚✩⊹
Chapter 4
Linked Universe x reader
Warnings: Mentions of mental health and depression, angst, fluff
₊˚✩⊹
Two days have passed since you left Castle Town, you and the chain just crossing the threshold of Hyrule Field, but not quite in Gerudo Valley.
The terrain was still slightly grassy, though the grass itself was yellowing, the land being very dry. The sun has long set, so you anticipated settling down soon, as you could feel the energy shift that has happened in the past couple days. Everyone was tired.
“Let’s setup camp under that large tree. Wild, why don’t you and the traveler start setting up dinner. The Captain and I can do a quick scout to see any possible encampments near us or any danger we need to be aware of. We should be back before dinner.” Time announced, motioning Wars to follow him.
You asked around the group seeing if there was anything you could assist with, but no one seemed to need anything for the moment. With a sigh, you propped yourself up against the tree and opened up the book Shad gave you. You might as well be productive.
Flipping through the book, there wasn’t much that related to your quest. Sure, some interesting tidbits about Hylian history and wars, but nothing of note. You halted your flipping at the page labeled: Other Worldly History: Ancient Runes and Magic.
Bingo.
Hyrule has been known to be a connection between various cultures, nations, and worlds. From the beginning, Hyrule contained loopholes and magic that could alter worlds, change the flow of time, and access completely disconnected dimensions. Nobody has successfully accessed said dimensions, but there are plenty of theories and magical concepts that support the possibility of accessing them.
A particular religious group, according to rumors and first-person accounts, have been seen performing rituals and dark magic that provides a window to a dimension. Though the group itself has no name or distinguishable faces or names, a few colleagues have been able to record the rituals and notes on how their procedures work.
You continued skimming the page, the author noting the black garb that the members wore and possible translations of the language. Everything was up in the air though. Flipping the page, you notice that there are diagrams on how the rituals are performed and how you could access “Hylia’s Mirror” through a very complex and specific execution of moments and chants.
The ritual began with placing your palms on the ground, or as the book liked to call it: “Connecting to Hylia’s body”. Weird.
You closed your eyes and lifted your palms, pointing out two fingers and drawing a large triangle around you, all sides and angles congruent.
You opened your eyes and tried to follow along with the specified hand signals, but you messed up halfway through. This was gonna be harder than you thought.
The smell of dinner was tantalizing, so you shut the book and placed it in your pack, deciding to play wizard again later once you've eaten. You don’t think you’ve eaten since you left Castle Town, as you all didn’t really stop walking unless taking a few hours to sleep.
You plopped down beside Four, leaning against him. He was sharpening one of his shorter blades, no doubt it being overused the past few weeks in close combat.
“Saw you playing wizard over there. Anything helpful?” he asked, eyes not leaving the blade.
You hummed. “Some dark magic stuff, lotta weird shit. I was too hungry to actually understand anything,” you said, looking at how Four’s fingers held the blade and handled it.
“I would help you, but I'm considered useless in the reading aspect. Can barely read signs if I'm honest. Only know the basics.” he said, stopping his sharpening and placing the blade back into its holster.
You were about to mention something about his comment when Wild called out to dinner, just in time for Wars and Time to return.
“Y/n over ‘ere was being magical and doing magic spells,” Twilight chuckled, gesturing at you “Chantin’ some gibberish, I tell ya.” he laughed, you rolling your eyes in response.
“Yeah, yeah. Mock all you want, but at least I’m getting somewhere. I think?” you paused.
“We can leave the demonology till later, let’s eat. I know you guys are starving, and I made heaps of food for tonight.” Wild smiled, handing out bowls to everyone. Does he carry a whole fucking kitchen on him?
~
“Who’s game did you play first, Y/n?” Wind asked, mouthful of food.
You pondered for a second, having to recollect your memories.
“Ummmm…. I think it was Skyward Sword, so Sky’s yeah. I think I was like 8 or 9.” you said, taking in another spoonful of rice.
“I miss being a kid, at times. I remember not having to worry about anything, just when I was going to play with my friends or what flavor of cake I was going to get for my birthday. Getting older changes you, for the better or worse, I honestly don’t know.” You said, looking over at everyone.
“I feel like i’ve gotten older faster since I first joined you guys, in a sense. I can’t really explain it. I guess adventuring, or rather being a hero forces you to grow up faster…” You trail off, looking at the fire.
Time pipes up “I agree with that, as I first left the forest when I was seven. The hero’s duty seemed inevitable, regardless if I postponed it or not.”
Wind nods, “I had to leave Grandma when I was 12, to save my sister Aryll. Even when I defeated Ganondorf and returned home, it didn’t feel the same… I wasn’t a kid anymore.”
You scootch up to him, letting him lean against your side. “I know I can’t change your past, Wind, but I just want you to know that I was there with you for every step of the way. Every nick or scratch you got, I made sure you were not alone. I’ll never leave you alone, any of you, whether or not I’m physically here with you or not. You’ll always feel me with you, in here,” You point at his chest.
Wind sighs sadly, “I love you Y/n.”
You sigh in contentment, “I love you too, squirt. You’ve always been like a little brother to me.”
“Call me squirt again and I’ll shank you in your sleep~” Wind said in a sing-song voice, but you knew he held no malice. You just chuckled at his “threat”.
“It’s so strange to me how we all felt you there with us, Y/n. Even if we didn’t hear you most of the time, you always gave us warmth.” Wild said.
“You guys gave me warmth too, and were there for me in my darkest days. Even just accompanying you for a few hours a day made me feel less alone,” you looked Wild “Even when I felt abandoned, I know you guys wouldn’t leave me.”
“13-year-old me would be so happy if she knew she was talking to her favorite heroes. She needed that. I needed that.” you said, combing through Wind’s sandy hair.
Legend frowned at your comment.
By the implication of your tone and words, it seems like your early teens weren’t joyful or memorable. You needed them. You needed him. He wished he could’ve heard you back then. It seemed like some of the others could hear you better during their journey, but he only heard you a few times. And from what he remembers, most of them weren’t happy.
He was also one of the last members of the group to recognize you. He only remembered you about 4 or so months ago. His past had clouded him and his mind, leaving him as leftovers.
Leftovers of Hylia’s game. He hated that damned goddess. A fraud. A parasite across each and every era. He had nothing to thank her for. Nothing besides… you. Simple, yet irreplaceable you. Millions of people had seen his quest and lead him through it, but you were an outlier. A special one. His guide.
Marin was a memory at this point. Not even a dream, like he thought she was. She was a distraction… a replacement. A replacement for you. Kind, smart, perfect you.

Guys, Z-library is back up, but it desperately needs our help.
Z-Library is one of the largest online libraries in the world. We aim to make literature accessible to everyone. Today, Z-Library contains over 12,140,413 books and 84,837,000 articles Z-Library has many servers all over the world. Our stored data now totals more than 220 TB! Every month, millions of people use Z-Library for their purposes — and that means we are on the right track. But it will be difficult to achieve our goals without your help.
As you may know, almost all public domains of the library were blocked in November 2022 by order of the US Secret Service. The inner infrastructure of the project suffered some substantial damage too. Today, we are still under unprecedented pressure. At the moment, Z-Library is going through the hardest times in all the 14 years of its existence. The library might work with interruptions, and we ask you to be patient. Be sure – we are doing everything possible to provide free access to knowledge for millions of people across the globe, and we expect you to help us with that and to support us.
But despite all the difficulties, the library continues to function and develop. We have recently introduced several important features: the new recommendations section, comments to booklists, the new web-site menu, personal domains and Telegram Bot, and more.
Your active support gives strength to our Team and inspires to work. Each donated dollar is not only money for us, but it is also the confidence that you really need our project!
On 15 March 2023, as in March and September of each year, we launched additional fundraising to project maintenance and development. We will be extremely thankful for every dollar that will be donated. Furthermore, UNLIMITED downloads (for 1 month) are available for ALL contributors who will donate during the fundraising period. The fundraising will run until 1 April 2023
Millions of people use Z-Library every month for their purposes — this shows us that we are on the correct track. But it will be difficult to achieve our goals without your help.
Please consider making a donation.
I know there's a lot of discourse around book piracy right now, but you know who absolutely cannot afford to buy your books in dollars, afford the shipping fees, or don't have access/ travelling distance to the kind of fully stocked libraries you have in the West? The Global South. Our factories make your Kindles, your phones, your textbooks, and then we can't afford to buy them from your corps that sell them at around 300% grate price, and half the books are not even available for our region. Our universities don't get your funding or recognition, and when we do sell our personal possessions to get the money and work our asses off to get admittance to Western universities, y'all use us as grunts, exploit us and pass our work off as your own. Worse still, you buy out our local publishing houses and shut them down.
You cannot imagine the extent of global apartheid and colonial economic order that capitalism runs on. Amazon cheats you out of royalties? We can't even afford to buy your books. A dollar can buy someone a full dinner here. These sites – Z-lib, Internet Archive, Libgen, Open Library, Sci-Hub, PDF Drive, LibriVox – they are essential to granting the global majority our human right to knowledge, education and access. Z-Lib is by far the best one of them all.
You will first need to sign up to Z-Lib and access it through the private domain link they send you. It's a simple process, and every little bit counts. You're a leftist that believes in equal access for all? Then literally, put your money where your mouth is.

How to (not, of course) still access z-library (kinda) safely.
complete and clear guide (that actually works) for desperate and bitter people.
Zlib has been taken down, devastating, many people are searching for alternatives, but we all know zlib specifically had the hugest amount of books + a very good and accessible interface.
I’ve seen many people suggesting to use tor, that is the best option to ACTUALLY get on the old zlib BUT!! don’t throw yourself over there if you’ve never used it. Come here babe ima boutta teach you smth.
For legal reasons, you should not use the browser or try to access the site wink wink.
Now, what is tor and why should you use it?
Tor is, simply enough, a browser, like firefox or chrome, except that it provides a bigger amount of protection. You can do anything there and almost never be discovered.
Is it safe?
Yes, but actualy no. It’s mostly safe, but nothing is garaunteed.
Is it legal?
No, not really. The usage of the browser isn’t itself that illegal, but tor is mostly known for illegal online activities linked to the dark web and you’re gonna do NONE of that or things that could get the authorities’ attention (or that are immoral, get help).
Now, measure the term and conditions and decide if it’s worth a try to get to your beloved books. If the answer’s yes,
Do the following:
1) dowload tor, this one’s easy enough, search for the browser, download it, you’ll have it on your pc.
2) check that you’re safe, get confident with the browser itself and the options, you’ll see the security levels and ALWAYS make sure tor is up to date, if not, update it. I also suggest to make sure to clear up the cookies section after any action, you’ll find this option in privacy, in the browsing section. (Also, try not to customize tor too much, it isn’t necessary, and it could make you stand out amongst users)
3) now we start, search up “zlibrary onion”, don’t click on the first link, if you do the site will be blocked, NEVER press “accept risk and continue”. What you should do instead, is click the link you’ll find in the square on the right, right beneath the zlib logo, THAT LINK ends in .onion, which means you are safe from being tracked.
4) wow! You’re on the site, good to be back right? But wait, the site won’t let you download books cause it says you’ve reached a limit, that never happened before. This is beacause the only way to download books now is to have an account, you can get the books sent on your email, or downloaded (we’ll talk about this furtherly)
5) you should never make an account using tor while using your normal email (a gmail or a lcloud one as an example) so you’re going to have to make another email (not cool, i know) i used PROTON.ME, it works like any email just much safer, not even the site is allowed to read your emails, it takes 3 mins to set up, it’s free and remember NOT TO USE names or passwords that could lead to you and your name.
6) now you can make the account, it will give you a link sent to the email you used, open it ONLY on tor.
7) you’ve got the account, search up the book and have it delivered to the email/download it.
(ABOUT THE DOWLOADS, do NOT open the file online, not even on tor, download it as a pdf BUT ONLY OPEN IT WHILE OFFLINE, the problem isn’t with downloading the file, but with opening it, especially pdf files, that do contain elements that can track you and your pc, which you really don’t want)
Now you have your book, and a proud feeling of accomplishment in being smarter than the feds, oh, also, absolutely don’t use this method. of course.
happy reading, don’t let them bitches stop the poetry.
P.S it’s harder to find the link now so here you go.

ATTENTION PLZ READ: Serious Post & Call To Action
I almost never get serious on here, but this is an emergency that effects ALL of us. This is gonna b a long post, but there's a lot of info so plz bear with me.
If you're not on tiktok, you probably haven't heard abt this cuz I've heard and seen NO ONE outside of tiktok talking about this and that's scary.
We have a major mass internet censorship bill that Facists- I mean "Conservatives" are trying to get through congress that was co-signed by Dove (yes, the soap company) & LIZZO of all people back in April of this year.
This bill is called the "Kids Online Safety Act" or KOSA for short.
Under the guise of "protecting children" it is the worst mass internet censorship bill to date and if it passes, it will give state senators and the government the power to censor and destroy anything they don't like off the face of the internet. And by that I mean in a recent video interview of Senator Marsha Blackburn (one of the senators that introduced the bill) said the quiet part out loud and detailed EXACTLY what we knew they were gonna do.
If they pass it, they're going to use it to wipe any LGBTQIA+ content & info off the face of the internet, but ESPECIALLY anything to do with Transgender people and being Trans. And they intend on targeting Transgender children especially.
Due to the purposefully vague wording of the bill giving the gov. the power to destroy anything they deem "a danger to kids" you know that's what they're gonna use it for instead of censoring anything that's an actual danger to kids. They said it themselves.
But it gets SO MUCH WORSE than that. This bill would also give th4em the power to control EVERYTHING you do and EVERYWHERE yo go on the internet and no. A VPN won't help you.
This goes way beyond just lgbtqia info and fandom content/culture being in danger. This also means our right to free speech, access to accurate and factual information, and ability to communicate & organize with each other is also up on the chopping block. They're trying to make it harder for us to fight back against what they're doing.
And even if you don't live in the US, this will also effect you too. Access to any US based content creators and US based media as well as your ability to communicate with your US friends & Family as well as access to info on what's happening in the US will also be in danger as well.
If you're on tiktok and want more info, I reccomend looking up omarsbigsister who has an entire playlist on the bill as well as info and petition links in her bio and a call script to read off for contacting your senators. but I will also be providing those same links at the end of this post.
So what can we do to stop it?
Sign petitions
COntact your senators and reps. Call them, email them, send physical letters,
but most importantly,
SPREAD THE WORD.
share and repost this because the fact that no one oustide of tiktok is talking about this even though it will effect ALL OF US and could spell the end of the internet as we know it is SCARY
This bill is text book fascism and we need to kill it in its crib.
Here are all the links:

Where can I read the eighth doctor adventures?
So the Internet Archive has a bunch of them in just about as readable a format as you're likely to get reading digitally, but they're missing a number of early books as well as City of the Dead and Grimm Reality.
I have a massive zip file of every Target, VNA, VMA, EDA, PDA, and NSA (up through to the end of Ten's run at least)
...but the xdrive I have them all saved on is in uh. Poor shape, and needs to be professionally recovered which is giving me no end of anxiety and I've been putting it off for months fuck me so I currently don't have access to a better source of all these files because I really need to back up my shit better :|
That being said, this fandom is old hat at passing bootleg books around, so I open the floor to anyone else who'd like to come in for the assist.
Also if you prefer reading physical books, despite much fandom moaning about how expensive a hobby collecting is, most of the books individually won't break the bank, and you can find them in places such as ebay and abebooks and the like with a little dedicated hunting. Unfortunately, some of them are truly exorbitantly priced and there isn't really a way around that beyond being diligent and getting lucky. Some books are also available on the official BBC website, and I believe if you buy from there, the respective authors still get some royalties, so that's also a consideration.
[ Here ] is a (somewhat spoilery) breakdown of the books and their arcs.
@johannesviii also has a [ pretty good rec list ] of essential books up to Anachrophobia if you want to dip your toes in the water with some guaranteed good books first. They also have a very fun ongoing book by book liveblog [ here ].
There are also fanmade audiobooks of the first few EDAs, which I reblogged a link to [ here ].
Happy reading! I hope you like them!

The Internet Archive, Misinformation & the Problem of Digital Lending
I am in the embarrassing situation of having reblogged a post with misinformation. Specifically, the "Save the Internet Archive" post featuring the below image and its associated link to a website called "Battle for Libraries".
Tumblr media
The post claims that the recent lawsuit the IA faced threatened all IA projects, including the Wayback Machine, which is not true. The link to a petition to "show support for the Internet Archive, libraries’ digital rights, and an open internet with uncensored access to knowledge" only has one citation, which is the internet archive's own blog.
After looking for more context, I found that even articles published from sources I trusted didn't seem to adequately cover the complexity of what is going on. Here's what I think someone who loves libraries but is hazy about copyright law and the digital lending world should know to understand what happened and why it matters. I am from the U.S., so the information below is specifically referring to laws protecting American public libraries. I am not a librarian, author or copyright lawyer. This is a guide to make it easier to follow the arguments of people more directly invested in this lawsuit, and the potential additional lawsuits to come.

First-Sale Doctrine & the Economics of E-Books
Libraries are digitizing. This is undisputed. As of 2019, 98% of public libraries provided Wi-Fi, 90% provided basic digital literacy programs, and most importantly for this conversation, 94% provided access to e-books and other digital materials. The problem is that for decades, the American public library system has operated on a bit of common law exhaustion applied to copyright known as first-sale doctrine, which states:
"An individual who knowingly purchases a copy of a copyrighted work from the copyright holder receives the right to sell, display or otherwise dispose of that particular copy, notwithstanding the interests of the copyright owner."
With digital media, however, because there isn't a physical sale happening, first sale doctrine doesn't apply. This wasn't a huge problem back in the early 2010s when most libraries were starting to go digital because the price of a perpetual e-book license was only $14 -- about the price of single physical book. Starting in 2018, however, publishers started limiting how long a single e-book license would last. From Pew Charitable Trusts:
"Today, it is common for e-book licenses from major publishers to expire after two years or 26 borrows, and to cost between $60 and $80 per license, according to Michele Kimpton, the global senior director of the nonprofit library group LYRASIS... While consumers paid $12.99 for a digital version, the same book cost libraries roughly $52 for two years, and almost $520 for 20 years."
Publishers argue that because it's so easy to borrow a digital copy of a book from the library, offering libraries e-book licenses at the same price as individual consumers undermines an author's right to license and profit from the exclusive rights to their works. And they're not entirely wrong about e-book lending affecting e-book sales -- since 2014, e-book sales have decreased while digital library lending has only gone up. The problem, they say, is that e-book lending is simply too easy. Whereas before, e-book sales were competing with the less-convenient option of going to the library and checking out a physical copy, there is essentially no difference for the reader between buying or lending an e-book outside of its cost.
Which brings us to the librarians, authors and lawmakers of today, trying to find any solution they can to make digital media accessible, affordable and still profitable enough to make a livable income for the writers who create the books we read.

Controlled Digital Lending (CDL)
Controlled digital lending is a legal theory at the heart of the Internet Archive lawsuit that has been proposed as one solution to the economic issue with digital media lending. This quick fix is especially appealing to nonprofits like the IA that are not government, tax-funded programs. Where many other solutions, like a legally enforced max price on e-book licensure for public libraries, would not apply to the IA, CDL would essentially be manipulating copyright law itself as a way to avoid e-book licensure altogether and would apply to the IA as well as public libraries.
Essentially, proponents of CDL argue that through a combination of first-sale and fair use doctrine, it can be legal for libraries to digitize the physical copies of books they have legally paid for and loan those digital copies to one person at a time as if they were loaning the original physical copy.
It is worth noting that the first-sale doctrine protecting physical media lending at public libraries does not cover reproductions:
“The right to distribute ends, however, once the owner has sold that particular copy. See 17 U.S.C. § 109(a) & (c). Since the first sale doctrine never protects a defendant who makes unauthorized reproductions of a copyrighted work, the first sale doctrine cannot be a successful defense in cases that allege infringing reproduction.”
This is where fair use comes in, which allows some flexibility in copyright law for nonprofit educational and noncommercial uses. Because the IA and other online collections are nonprofit organizations, proponents of CDL argue that they are covered by fair use so long as their use of CDL follows very specific rules, such as:
A library must own a legal copy of the physical book, by purchase or gift.
The library must maintain an “owned to loaned” ratio, simultaneously lending no more copies than it legally owns.
The library must use technical measures to ensure that the digital file cannot be copied or redistributed.
While this model first earned its name in 2018, it has been practiced by a number of digital collections like The Internet Archive’s Open Library since as early as 2010. It is important to know that controlled digital lending has never been proven officially legal in court. It is a theoretical legal practice that has passed by mostly unchallenged until the Internet Archive lawsuit. This is partially due to the fact that before releasing their official CDL statement in 2018, the IA had been honoring Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown requests of books in CDL circulation, which authors claim they are not always responding to or honoring anymore. The legality of CDL essentially depends on a judge's interpretation of current copyright law and whether they see the practice as an infringement, which would set a precedent for similar cases moving forward.
There are, however, U.S. court decisions that have rejected similar cases, like Capitol Records v. ReDigi, which argues that digital files (in this case, music files) cannot be resold without copyright holder’s permission on the grounds that digital files do not deteriorate in the same way that physical media does, implying that first sale doctrine doesn’t apply to digital media.
In 2019, the Authors Guild, a group of American authors who advocate for the rights of writers to earn a living wage and practice free speech, pointed out this court case in an article condemning CDL practices. They also argued that not only does CDL undermine e-book licensure (and therefore author profits off e-book sales), but it also would effectively shut down the e-book market for older books (the market for copyrighted books that were published before e-books became popular and are only being digitized and sold now). The National Writers Union has also released an “Appeal from the victims of Controlled Digital Lending (CDL),” that cites many of the same complaints.

The "National Emergency Library" & Hachette v. Internet Archive
While the Internet Archive is known as the creator and host of the Wayback Machine and many other internet and digital media preservation projects, the IA collection in question in Hachette v. Internet Archive is their Open Library. The Open Library has been digitizing books since as early as 2005, and in early 2011, began to include and distribute copyrighted books through Controlled Digital Lending (CDL). In total, the IA includes 3.6 million copyrighted books and continues to scan over 4,000 books a day.
During the early days of the pandemic, from March 24, 2020, to June 16, 2020, specifically, the Internet Archive offered their National Emergency Library, which did away with the waitlist limitations on their pre-existing Open Library. Instead of following the strict rules laid out in the Position Statement on Controlled Digital Lending, which mandates an equal “owned to loaned” ratio, the IA allowed multiple readers to access the same digitized book at once. This, they said, was a direct emergency response to the worldwide pandemic that cut off people’s access to physical libraries.
In response, on June 1, 2020, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, John Wiley & Sons, and Penguin Random House filed a lawsuit against the IA over copyright infringement. Out of their collective 33,000 copyrighted titles available on Open Library, the publishers’ lawsuit focused on 127 books specifically (known in the legal documentation as the “Works in Suit”). After two years of argument, on March 24, 2023, Judge John George Koeltl ruled in favor of the publishers.
The IA’s fair use defense was found to be insufficient as the scanning and distribution of books was not found to be transformative in any way, as opposed to other copyright lawsuits that ruled in favor of digitizing books for “utility-expanding” purposes, such as Authors Guild, Inc. v. HathiTrust. Furthermore, it was found that even prior to the National Emergency Library, the Open Library frequently failed to maintain the “owned to loaned” ratio by not sufficiently monitoring the circulation of books it borrows from partner libraries. Finally, despite being a nonprofit organization overall, the IA was found to profit off of the distribution of the copyrighted books, specifically through a Better World Books link that shares part of every sale made through that specific link with the IA.
It worth noting that this ruling specifies that “even full enforcement of a one-to-one owned-to-loaned ratio, however, would not excuse IA’s reproduction of the Works in Suit.” This may set precedent for future copyright cases that attempt to claim copyright exemption through the practice of controlled digital lending. It is unclear whether this ruling is limited to the National Emergency Library specifically, or if it will affect the Open Library and other collections that practice CDL moving forward.

This is where I’m going to be a little more subjective, because each person’s interpretation of events as I have seen has depended largely on their characterization and experience with the parties involved. Regardless of my own ideology regarding accessibility of information, the court ruling seems to be completely in line with current copyright law and precedent. Ironically, it seems that if the Internet Archive had not abandoned the strict rules regarding controlled digital lending for the National Emergency Library, and if they had been more diligent with upholding those rules with partner library loans prior to the NEL, they may have had a better case for controlled digital lending in the future. As is, I agree with other commentators that say any appeal the IA makes after this point is more likely to damage future digital lending practices than it is to save the IA’s current collection of copyrighted works in the Open Library. Most importantly, it seems disingenuous, and even dangerously inaccurate, to say that this ruling hurts authors, as the IA claimed in their response.
The IA argues that because of the current digital lending and sales landscape, the only way authors can make their books accessible digitally is through unfair licensing models, and that online collections like the IA’s Open Library offer authors freedom to have their books read. But this argument doesn’t acknowledge that many authors haven’t consented to having their works shared in this way, and some have even asked directly for their work to be removed, without that request being honored.
The problem is that both sides of this argument about the IA lawsuit claim to speak for authors as a group when the truth isn’t that simple.
Authors: Ideology v. Practicality
Those approaching the case from an ideological point of view, including many of the authors who signed Fight for the Future’s Open Letter Defending Libraries’ Rights in a Digital Age, tend to either have a history of sharing their works freely prior to the lawsuit (ex: Hanif Abdurraqib, who had published a free audio version of his book Go Ahead in The Rain on Spotify before Spotify began charging for audiobooks separately from their music subscriptions) or have alternative incomes related to their writing that don’t stem directly from book sales (ex: Neil Gaiman, who famously works with multiple mediums and adaptations of his writing).
In these cases, the IA lawsuit is framed as an ideological battle over the IA’s intention when releasing the National Emergency Library.
Tumblr media
Many other authors, including a large number of smaller names and writers early in their careers, take a much more practical approach to the lawsuit, focused on defending their ability to monetarily profit off their works. This is by no means a reflection of their own ideology surrounding who has the right to information and whether libraries are worth protecting. Instead, it is a response to the fact that these authors love writing, and they simply would not be able to afford to continue writing in a world where they do not have the power to stop digital collections from distributing their copyrighted work without their consent. These include the authors, illustrators and book makes working with the Author’s Guild to submit their amicus brief in  Hachette v. Internet Archive.
These authors claim that controlled digital lending practices cause significant harm to their incomes in the following ways:
CDL undermines e-book licensing and sales markets, as most consumers would choose a free e-book over paying for their own copy.
CDL devalues copyright, meaning authors have less bargaining power in future contract negotiations.
CDL undermines authors ability to republish, whether as a reprint or e-book, out of print books once their publisher has ceased production. This includes self-publishing after the rights to their work have been returned to them.
CDL removes the income from public lending rights (PLR) that authors receive from libraries outside of the U.S. which operate on different lending and copyright standards.
The amicus brief provides first-person anecdotes from authors, including Bruce Coville of The Unicorn Chronicles, about how the rights to backlisted books, or books without an immediately obvious market, make up a huge portion of their annual salary. Jacqueline Diamond cites reissues of out-of-print novels as what kept her afloat during her breast cancer treatment.
It is worth noting that according to the Author’s Guild, some authors who originally signed Fight for the Future’s open letter defending the Internet Archive have even retracted their support after learning more about the specific lawsuit, including Daniel Handler, who writes under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. The confusion stems from the use of the term “library” by both the Internet Archive and Fight for the Future. While authors overwhelmingly support public libraries, online collections like the Internet Archive don’t always fit the same role or abide by the same regulations as tax-funded public libraries. Sandra Cisneros, author of The House on Mango Street, has written the following:
“To this day, I am angry that Internet Archive tells the world that it is a library and that, by bootlegging my books, it is simply doing what libraries have always done. Real libraries do not do what Internet Archive does. The libraries that raised me paid for their books, they never stole them.”

 Publishers: What Authors Are Paid
Some of the commentators I’ve seen are disgruntled specifically with the publishers suing the Internet Archive, and I will say that many of these complaints are valid. The four publishing companies behind the lawsuits (Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers, John Wiley & Sons, and Penguin Random House) are not known for the stellar treatment of their authors and employees. With the HarperCollins Publishers strike ending only a month before the IA lawsuit ruling, many readers are poised to support any entity at odds with one or more of the “Big Five” publishers. In this particular case, however, the power wielded by these publishing companies was used in defense of author’s rights to their works, for which The Authors Guild and other similar creator groups have expressed gratitude.
When it comes to finding solutions to the digital lending problem in general, it is important to understand what and how authors are paid for digital copies of their work. Jane Friedman has created the graphic below displaying the industry standards for the Big Five publishers. You can read more about agency and wholesome models here.
Tumblr media
As you can see, authors and publishers alike benefit from e-book library licensure when compared to individual e-book sales, especially when you consider the time limits on library licensures. But advocates of this licensure model argue that the high prices for e-book licensure are designed to make up for the lost sales in e-books. While library goers buy more books than book buyers who don’t visit the library, the copies they buy typically vary by format. For example, a reader may borrow an audiobook from the library, decide they like it, and purchase a physical copy for their collection. While readers may buy a physical copy of a book after reading a physical library copy, they are unlikely to buy a digital copy after readying a digital library copy, making e-book lending a replacement for e-book buying in ways that physical lending doesn’t fully replace physical book purchases.
What ISN’T accounted for in this graphic is self-publication and what is known as a right of reversion. Depending on the wording of their contract, an author can request their publication rights be returned to them if the work in question is out of print and no longer being published. The publisher can then either return the work to “in print” status or return the rights to the author, who can then self-publish the work. In these cases, the 5-15% profit they would have made off their traditionally published book becomes a 35-70% profit as a self-published book. This is why authors are particularly frustrated with the IA’s argument that it is perfectly legal and ethical to release digital copies of books that are no longer in print. Those out-of-print works are where many authors earn their most reliable, long-term income, and they provide the largest opportunity for the authors to take control of their own works again and make fairer wages through self-publication.
The most obvious answer to this is that if authors are being the ones hit hardest by library and digital lending, then it is the publishers that need to treat their authors with better contracts. The fact that some authors are only earning 5% of profits on hardcover copies of their books (whether those are being sold to libraries or individuals) is eye opening. Alas, like the “we shouldn’t have to tip waiters” argument, this is much easier said than done.

What Do Authors Earn from Digital Lending at Libraries?
 You: When Is Piracy Ethical?
There are number of contributing factors to Tumblr’s enthusiasm for pirating. We are heavily invested in the media we consume, and it is easy to interpret (sometimes accurately) copyright as a weapon used by publishers and distant descendants of long-dead authors to restrict creativity and representation in adaptations of beloved texts. There are also legitimate barriers that keep us from legally obtaining media, whether that is the physical or digital inaccessibility of our local libraries and library websites, financial concerns, or censorship on an institutional or familial level. In fact, studies have found that 41% of book pirates also buy books, implying that a lot of illegal piracy is an attempt at format shifting (ripping CDs onto your computer to access them as MP3 files, for example, or downloading a digital copy of a book you already own in order to use the search feature).
The interesting thing is that copyright law in the U.S. has a specific loophole to allow for legal format shifting for accessibility purposes. This is due to the Chafee Amendment (17 U.S.C. § 121), passed in 1996, which focused on making published print material more available to people with disabilities that interfere with their ability to read print books, such as blindness, severe dyslexia and any physical disability that makes holding and manipulating a print book prohibitively difficult. In practice, this means nonprofits and government agencies in the U.S. are allowed to create and distribute braille, audio and digital versions of copyrighted books to eligible people without waiting for permission from the copyright holder. While this originally only applied to “nondramatic literary works,” updates to the regulations have been made as recently as 2021 to include printed work of any genre and to expand the ways “print-disabled” readers can be certified. Programs like Bookshare, Learning Ally, and the National Library Service for the Blind and Print-Disabled no longer require certification from a medical doctor to create an account. The Internet Archive also uses the Chafee Amendment to break their Controlled Digital Lending regulations for users with print disabilities. While applications of the Chafee Amendment are still heavily regulated, it is worth noting that even U.S. copyright law acknowledges the ways copyright contributes to making information inaccessible to a large amount of people.
Accessibility is not the only argument when discussing the morality of pirating. For some people, appreciation for piracy and shadow libraries comes from a background in archival work and an awareness how much of our historical archives today wouldn’t exist without pirated copies of media being made decades or even a century ago. But we have to be more careful about the way we talk about piracy. Though piracy is often talked about as a victimless crime, this is not always the case, and each one of us has a responsibility to critically think about our place in the media market and determine our own standards for when piracy is ethical. In some cases, such as the recent conversation surrounding the Harry Potter game, some people may even decide that pirating is a more ethical alternative to purchasing. Here are a few questions to consider when deciding whether or not to pirate a piece of media:
Have you exhausted all other avenues for legally purchasing, renting or borrowing a copy of this media?
Is the alternative to pirating this media purchasing it or not reading/referencing it at all? If the former, how are you justifying the piracy?
Who is the victim of this particular piracy? Whether or not you think the creator(s) deserve to have their work pirated, you need to acknowledge there is someone who would otherwise be paid for their work.
If every consumer pirated this media, what would the consequences be? Would you be willing to claim responsibility for that outcome?
If you got this far,  thank you so much for reading! It is genuine work to try and understand the complexity behind every day decisions, especially when the topic at hand is as complicated as the modern digital lending crisis. Doing this research has changed the way that I understand and interact with digital media, and I hope you have found it informational as well.

Gained a lot of followers recently who I think are mainly here for history/mythology stuff, because I was on a rec list or two, and we're coming up to Christmas so folks might be looking for books to request / buy for others as gifts.... so it seems like a good time to share my Bookshop.org list of "Celtic Mythology" recommendations, i.e. accessible but accurate books about medieval Irish and Welsh literature.
Everything on the list has a little explanation for why it's there (other than Welsh Verse, which doesn't have a blurb because I added it based on a friend's recommendation, and don't have personal experience with it).
Tumblr media
Some of them are introductory books that provide an overview, and others are my preferred translations of a few of the big stories. They're all reasonably affordable, i.e. they're at Regular Book prices rather than Academic Book prices, because I know the sinking feeling of looking up something that's super useful and discovering it's £100, it happened to me yesterday. (Why, The Arts of Friendship, why would you hurt me in this way...)
I'm linking it here because I think it will be useful, but also because it is an affiliate list, and if you buy books from it, you're supporting me directly as well as supporting independent bookshops. As an independent scholar, I have no funding, so I appreciate every handful of pennies I can earn from sharing my knowledge! I will never put any of my online content behind a paywall, and if any of my articles aren't open access (like my 7 Maines article), it's because of the journal's policies, not my choice, but I try to make them as easy/cheap to access as possible. But by buying books, you get to help me out so I can keep doing this, AND you get books. Win-win!

alright you have me convinced!! what should i know before i watch indycar next season??
yooo i'm so glad i convinced you!! this is a pretty long post, and is kind of all-over the place. i tried to break it up by general topic, but i'm adding randomly as i think, so just a warning. i'll add some info links i like at the bottom. (if you or anyone wants to talk indy or f1, asks or dms are so very welcome, i love making friends <3)
one thing about indy is unlike in basically every else, many cars look very different even when on the same team as well as special liveries that are nothing like their normal ones, so i'd recommend getting the indycar app (it's free and user friendly once you figure out the weird layout) as it has a spotter's guide. it also has onboard cameras and radios for free (!!!!).
indycar is (usually) a pretty friendly sport, but as is the case with american sports, we like chaos, so the drivers can pretty much say anything except swear words lol. there's a few different clips of drivers threatening each other, which is great. id say most drivers are friends or at least acquaintances, expect santino ferrucci (huge bigot, pay driver, got kicked out of f2 for extremely dirty driving, and i personally hate his hair) and often romain grosjean as he hits people a lot. as for 2024 rookies, kyffin simpson's dad bought him his seat, and kyle larson saying the n-word in 2020 means he has some really, really racist fans.
the safety rules are strict and the cars are very durable which is good for high-speed crashes. the safety people (shoutout amr indycar safety team i love y'all, amr the company i hate you more than i hate the fia) travel with the races and have extensive training. they are also stationed in places that allow quick access to any location on a track. this is most apparent at ovals as they are much faster and more dangerous. at the other races, they are stationed where there is higher likelihood for a more dangerous crash that needs faster reactions. they take trucks to the site that are full of basically anything that might be needed. this is especially important as indycar refuels and are at high risk of combustion compared to f1. the calling yellow flags is also a lot more liberal which is nice. during longer yellows, and reds at ovals they'll run a sweeper truck to clean the racing line so people don't slide into walls.
for flag code info, as i don't have the patience to write it out, it is is section 7.2 of the rule book (page 27). i've linked it at the bottom of the post.
with the cars, they're all required to have the same chassis and aren't allowed to change a huge amount, so the racing is mostly down to skill, though andretti, ganassi, penske, and mclaren are better as they have more money. there are two engine suppliers, honda and chevrolet, iirc (don't quote me here) chevy is a bit more powerful, but honda is a bit more handleable. fast pit stops are usually about 7 seconds due to smaller pit crews (7 people maximum) and refueling. each car also has it's own pit box as teams have variable car numbers based on what they can afford. firestone provides tires, and there are two compounds, primary and alternate, as well as a wet tire. primaries are the harder compound and have a black sidewall. alternates are softer and have a red sidewall, except at street circuits where it's green to signify all natural rubber. use of both compounds are required. on broadcast you'll hear them mention "sticker reds" which are just the brand new ones.
more tire info in section 15 of the rulebook (page 84). there's some complex rules if you like tires.
the biggest difference between indy cars and f1 is f1 has power steering, indy doesn't. if you watch onboards, the drivers are wrestling the car the whole time, and most of the racing comes down to skill. the actual racing is often chaotic (indycar app helps with this. i keep it open always) and since there are many pit stops in a race (the cars use a lot of fuel) the leaderboard will change a lot.
the points system is very different, i'll try to cover it as succinctly as i can but i'm going to put a link for the wiki on it at the bottom anyway. (this is going to be formatted real weird, but i want to be brief). p1 50; p2 40; p3 35; p4 32; 4th-10th decreases by 2; p10 20; 10th-25th decreases by 1; everything p25 down is 5 points. drivers get points for finishing the race, basically. (unless there's more than 33 finishers, then 34 down get nothing, but that doesn't really happen). there's some bonus points also, 1 for leading a lap, 2 for most laps led, and 1 for pole position. the final bonus is for indy 500 qualifying. top 12 get points from p1 getting 12, descending by 1, to p12 getting 1.
as for the circuits there's three types: ovals (6 races, 4 tracks), roads (6 races, +1 non-championship race), and street (5 races). ovals are very high speed with little to no breaking. road courses are just your average circuit made for racing, the roads tend to be a bit rougher than f1's but that's kinda just how american tracks are. street circuits are, well, on the street. american roads suck major dick. the smoothest indycar street circuit is comparable to the worst of f1's. very bumpy, usually some good crashes (watch 2023 st. petersburg start. shit was insane).
as a fan, i cannot recommend irl indy more. some races are busier than others, obviously, but it's cheap considering it's a big racing category. 3 day entry for the less major races is usually $60-ish, and paddock passes are an additional $120-ish. not 100% on the price for pit access, but that is a bundle with three day tickets usually. the races aren't super crowded and there isn't assigned seats which is nice. the paddock is super open (check my "fenrir indycar" tag, quick access on my pinned) and you are able to walk up to and touch the cars if you really want (i wouldn't) as well as have conversation with engineers if they're not busy. if you have pit access the drivers are usually just wandering around and are often happy to stop and talk/sign something when not busy. there's also a high risk of nearly getting run over by drivers on their scooters. will power is notorious for this.
for my non-americans, (love y'all) we are very happy to have a conversation with strangers. the indy fans are often thrilled to talk about their favorite drivers and thoughts with anyone. when i went id say the only bad experiences i had was getting overwhelmed (my fault, i went to a place that i knew would cause a meltdown) and my dad getting hit twice by a man in a golf cart twice (same guy, not my dad's fault, the cunt didn't try to move, warn him, or apologize, just hit him, let my dad stumble, hit him again. i'm still mad). the seats are usually right on the track, so it's extremely loud and smelly. 10/10 can not recommend irl indy enough. i am biased to the pnw and it's the only race i've been to, but the portland race is great. it's not got masses of people, you can walk right up to the track to watch with the only thing between you and the cars being a concrete wall and a fence, and as it's a smaller race with less fans compared to the east coast and mid-west races, it's cheaper. biggest con is its built on a swamp, so super humid. (another pro, i'll be there <3 [joke.])
any questions you've got or clarification needed, my notifications are on and i'll respond to relevant stuff as soon as i see it.

Linked Universe Big Bang 2023 Sing-up Sheet
I know I said this would be up by Sunday, but I figured no one would complain about being able to access it a few days early. The sign-up will be open from now until Saturday, November 11th. If anything in these forms make no sense to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Each form should take about 5-15 minutes depending on how detailed you want to get.
Author Sign-up:
Artist Sign-up:
Beta Reader Sign-up:
F.A.Q. under the cut:
What is the timeline again?
Here is the whole schedule post. But short version, sign-ups will close on November 11th, claims will be Saturday Nov. 18th and then everything will be posted on Saturday, January 27th.
What form do I fill out?
If you are going to write fic, click the author one. If you are going to make art, click the artist one. Beta readers, hit the Beta one. If you are going to be participating in more than one capacity, fill out a separate form for the separate ways you will participate. (EX: If you are going to write and also draw for someone else's fic, fill out both the artist and author forms).
Wait do you want my Tumblr or my email?
I want you to give me whatever method of contact information you have to give me. Tumblr, email, discord, whatever. Just give me at least one. My personal preference is tumblr, but I am not picky. I will work with you.
Why did you ask about potential archive warnings?
Because while I fully support the right of writers and artists to make art about whatever they damn well please, I don't want to match an author who is not comfortable with graphic violence with a fic that's just a beautiful gorey fight scene. This is not a moral judgement, I just want to respect everyone's boundaries and make sure we all have fun.
What are you going to do with the information I give you?
Your contact information will be given to your partner so that you guys can get to work on communicating and making beautiful fic/art. I will also use it to check in twice before posting to make sure everything is going well.
All other questions are to make sure the pairing / claims process goes as smoothly as possible for everyone.
How detailed do you want that fic summary?
That is frankly up to you. That blurb and working title is what I am going to be using to pitch your fic to the artists. After you two get in touch, then you can flesh out the details together. So if you think three words is enough to get an artist excited (EX: Ravio wielding Fi), then that will do. If you want to give a full 300 word book blurb, that's fine too.
What if I want to make fic for a different version of the Chain? Like Bonus Links or LinkedMaze?
You are one hundred percent more than welcome to do so! Just make sure that you include the fact that the fic is for a specific non-LU version of the boys in your summary when you fill out the form.
Wait! You forgot to tell us about X!
My bad! Send me a message, an ask, or reply to this post. Always happy to provide further clarification.

BORDERLINE - Beta Reader Applications Open
Good morning noon and night everyone! If you’ve been following me for any amount of time at all, you’ll know I’ve got a manuscript I’ll be looking to traditionally publish within the year. Applications to become a beta reader for this manuscript - BORDERLINE - are now open. Please read the following post carefully before submitting an application.
Borderline is a Young Adult manuscript of ~99,000 words. It is a story told from four perspectives, following a group of teenagers living in a strange town called Florida as they attempt to rescue a long lost friend from beyond the veil between worlds. The back page and other introductory tidbits can be found at the bottom of this post, under the cut.
Borderline is a manuscript with themes including cosmic/eldritch horror, mystery, and adventure. There are elements of romance, but this is not a main focus/theme of the book.
Content warnings include: body horror/descriptions of injuries, unreality, hallucinations, insects/bugs, brief mention of sex, brief mentions of religion, brief mentions of underage drinking, brief mentions of firearms. *descriptions of body horror all fall in some way under the category of unreality.
Borderline features multiple mixed POC/Queer characters.
Applications will close at the end of this week (Friday the 24th), and successful applicants will be sent a link to begin the novel on the following Monday. As stated, the manuscript is almost 100,000 words long. The beta period will be eight weeks long, with comments on the final chapter due by Monday April 24. If you have doubts about your ability to finish a manuscript of this length in this amount of time, please do not apply.
I am not looking for line by line grammar edits. I am looking for general thoughts chapter by chapter, if you enjoyed the book overall, and if there were any instances where things were unclear or confusing.
Below, you will find the link to submit an application. The application is eight questions long. Not all of the questions are required, but answering all of them will help your application. Please note that there is NO answer which will exclude you from being considered. As with my previous manuscript, I am looking for a range of experiences and backgrounds, so please answer honestly. I will be taking between three and five beta readers, depending on interest and variety of applications.
Please also note that if you are uncomfortable providing an email address, this does NOT need to be your personal email. The portal through which I host my manuscripts for beta (beta books) requires an email for access and providing feedback. This can be a temporary account created by you in order to participate.
Finally, if you do end up helping with beta, please remember that you're under no obligation to like the book. I like the book. If you hate it, that's your opinion, and I don't mind at all. But please give me honest beta.
If you have any questions about the manuscript, or the beta process, please feel free to message me here!
Here is the link to apply
Please fill out the form by the end of this coming Friday, February 24th. I will post a reminder before applications close. See below the cut for back page and other tidbits previously posted to this blog.
BACKPAGE:
FLORIDA, Florida is a strange place. Tucked away into a corner of the state’s forgotten coast, all the locals know it stands on a borderline, where the veil is thin and mysterious forces wander alongside the human population.
LIN O’LEARY, 17, is a high school dropout now working at the world’s weirdest convenience store. Six years after the disappearance of her best friend and childhood crush, Lin tries not to think about Momo Kasahara, keeps her head down, and regularly ignores the seven foot entity desperately seeking instant oatmeal.
BO KASAHARA is the remaining twin, a high school junior balancing nihilism with varsity sports and mandatory pancake breakfasts. If he could only stop waking up on the beach without any idea how he got there, he might actually make it to graduation, and a university far away from the hometown that ate his sister.
JULIEN TRUE is ambition on legs, lugging a bag full of spirit tracking equipment down Florida’s quiet streets. Determined to shoot his first miniseries before college starts, he’s fine with the creepy motel and unhelpful locals, as long as he learns something, anything about the Kasahara girl.
When a grown up Momo appears like a ghost in Lin’s convenience store, the three of them are united in the search for answers about the borderline that might help them rescue her. Because Momo Kasahara is not a ghost at all.
MOMOKO KASAHARA is impossible to find, and pissed about it. Stuck somewhere outside of reality, she’ll try anything and everything to pass the endless hours, survive another day. The forest is hiding something from her, the sky is always gray, and her neighbors don’t have faces. It’s save herself, or become something that can never go home.

SECRETS OF THE CLANS TWO-CLAN OPENING
Art done by our member Pidge! -> BurningPigeon#3793
Secrets of the Clans is a 15+ discord based roleplay server! We have over 200+ members and a lively, welcoming space. Our world is based on the forest territory of the books with the four original clans.
What makes SOTC so special? We use a TTRPG system to add random chance and level-building skills into your RP experience. Not only that, but you will be sorted and clan-locked into one clan based on a personality quiz.
OPENING DATES
We’ll be having a two clan opening for Shadowclan and Riverclan for only a few days, in order to help even out our current number of members. Applications will open starting on September 25th and will stay open for two weeks through to October 9th.
FAQ AND FEATURES
Can we be in more than one clan? No, you are only able to create and play characters in one clan, though if you are unhappy with where you're sorted you can switch within the first two weeks of joining! Our clan-locked system helps to create bonds within your clan, more realistic cross-clan romances and rivalries as well as gatherings that can feel authentic and surprising!
What if I'm not familiar with warrior cats, or a dice system? SOTC is a great place for beginners! Many of our members have never read the books, nor had experience in dice-rolling prior to joining the server. Our staff and clan-buddies are in place to guide you through any questions you may have!
How does character creation work in SOTC? Upon first joining SOTC you will be given two character slots, which can be used to adopt a premade adopt, and one oc token that can be applied to make your own from-scratch character. (Only your first oc token will have an age-range applied to it!)
How do I play a kit or apprentice? Kits and Apprentices are special characters on SOTC, as nearly every child character started from a litter born in the clan's nursery! You can adopt these newly born characters (or any young cats who no longer have players!), with their guardian player's permission. The only exception are cats bought with a donation to one of our server's supported charities (Right now, we're donating to a blind cat rescue!)
FEATURES
🌈SOTC is very LGBTQ+ friendly! ★
🍖 Working fresh-kill piles and herb storages! Hunt to provide for the clan, and gather to prepare for accidents, illnesses, or even battles! ★
💗 A thoughtfully curated content warning system, with paw-rating emoji for each thread. ★
🐣 Custom litters rolled accurately! ★
⭐ Unique brawling, healing and injury systems! ★
🎇Special lore crafted for each clan! ★
Still have more questions?
LINKS
Check out our website, or pay us a visit in our server. Some channels will be missing when you join; you'll have full access to your clan's channels once you're sorted in! We are still open for new members, so hop in before we close in two weeks! If you miss this period, feel free to hang out in the rookie nursery until our next opening date is announced!

Writing Commissions:
I am choosing to open writing commissions. I will write fics, poems, essays and edit writing.
This is a price list/source of information about my writing commissions. If you intend to post/publish anywhere provide me with credit. You can ask me not to post/publish any commissions, but if you do not specify I will most likely post/publish.
Alternative payment sources can be discussed, but I will generally use PayPal. DM me for commission requests and to receive payment details.
For commissions under £5, I will begin writing once the money has been transferred. For commissions over £5, half will be paid up front and half will be paid on completion of the finished product. If it is more convenient for you, you can pay the full price up front - I only pay in halves for your insurance.
Refunds are unavailable once you have received the final product.
If you are unsatisfied with your finished product, I am willing make edits requested up to a certain point. For a full rewrite I will have to charge additional fees.
Returning commissioners will receive discounts and priority as well as possible extras :) !
