An Ask Game for Writers to Procrastinate Working on Your WIP(s)

thank you kindly for tagging me @shrekgogurt @youarenevertooold, and @monbons i've been seeing this game make its rounds on my dash and was really hoping someone would pull me in!

🦈 Tell us the name of one of your WIP(s)

my main three wips at the moment are without sun, ballad of the final sparrow, which is more commonly known as bitverse, and fragile things (and how to break them), but i've also been fucking around a bit the last two or three weeks with a new (terrible, evil, very self-indulgent) wip called god-forbid.

i think i might be dumb bc i don't understand this question at all.

🌍 What tags or warnings will your WIP(s) need if you intend to share it?

bitverse: heavy angst, psychological horror elements, alcohol abuse, allusions to suicide, unhealthy coping mechanisms, dead dove: do not eat.

🧭 An alternative title to one of your WIP(s)?

ballad of the final sparrow -> baz is typing fragile things (and how to break them) -> there's a werewolf in london god-forbid -> the gap between a tragedy and comedy

i have no idea. i mean, you'd think the answer would be without sun since it's the only fic i actually have posted at the moment, but unfortunately i am an untrustworthy villain.

same as the fic title. if i start a new wip and don't know what to call it, i'll pick something at random and add (working title) at the end.

♻️ A scrapped idea for your current WIP

one of the biggest changes i made to the plot of without sun really early on was penelope's role in the story. i had a clear idea of the story i wanted to tell as soon as i saw the prompt for the fic. without sun was always supposed to be about more than simon and baz. the story is about grief and love, and the space we take up in the lives of the people around us. but n e way, in my orig draft, penny was actually supposed to be able to communicate with simon a bit, and there was gonna be a whole sect of scenes in the middle of the fic where they sat around together trying to break simon's curse what we know and what we don't know style via passing notes. i ended up tossing this idea really quickly tho, and i'm glad i did bc one of my favourite moments i've ever written in any fic happens in chapter two of without sun and it belongs to simon and penny.

🤔 What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

so many. or, well—what counts as "haven't even started"? i hate to let ideas sit around in my head bc it feels like leaving raspberries in the fridge for too long, like that shit is gonna get mould on it, so usually the first thing i do is rough out a few scenes and/or script out a very rough outline of the plot (like this / this / this style) so that i have something to come back to later. i have dozens of zero drafts just lying tf around. but otherwise, yeah, so many. one big idea i have is called heart on fire and it's based on fanart, but i haven't started it yet bc obvs i wanna get permission from the artist first but i've been holding off reaching out to them about it until i've knocked a few of my less intimidating longfics off my wip list bc heart on fire is gonna fucking hefty so i don't wanna give'r until i'm sure i can manage it.

Omg girl I was at a music festival last night then went clubbing I came back home 4 hours ago and realised "I didn't answer miss Baek" so here I am

I'll keep those songs in mind, I'm not really a fan of Dream, they have cool MVs bright and fun but something is off musically for me. I only really listen to Kick It by 127 and Universe by U - I didn't expect to like that one so much :o

The SVT tickets 😱 are they kidding. I would like to see them if they finally come to Europe... kinda whack the European tour was cancelled and now they're starting with North Am again 🙃 but the prices are a fucking joke, don't they get enough of our money??? Especially big companies, they need to get a grip. The concerts are usually poorly organised see Ateez so what the fuck are people even paying for

I don't know if Ateez ever goes truly dark, but I'm optimistic about their future sound. Especially with the rebellious teaser I think it's safe to say Halateez is back! I enjoyed Fever it has some gems, but Treasure is where my heart is at

Still no period, pros: well, no period cons: pain and waiting for for the doomsday to happen 🥴 at one point it's cool, because I can have a weekend without bleeding, but I'm tired of waiting and checking if the red scare is here or not... and I start reading smut at the end of the cycle as well hahahahaa

Some of the idols' parents are so funny and sweet I can't help feeling jealous, but it is what it is. Also the story about Seonghwa's and Hongjoong's mum's at their concert when Joong's mum brought a scarf(?) or something for Hwa's mum. 🤧 recently Felix's mum visited him and he took her to the airport because he wanted to be the last one she sees before taking off and Lix gave her his hat - what a sweet boy, her insta post about it made me uwu so hard

don't get me wrong, you like sucrose but sometimes you feel as if he gives her more attention than he does to you. not only in alchemy projects, but in general, and you can get pretty salty about it. 😇😇

you begin to hang out with kaeya more, speaking louder when albedo was near you two, laughing, and playfully hitting him after he made a horrible joke he was proud of. though he tried to avoid eye contact when he walked by you and the captain at the tavern, you could feel his eyes glaring at you from the back of the room, ignoring what his students had to show him. the thing he hated the most was that you acted so oblivious and innocent, like you didn't know what you were doing to him.

once you reached albedo's base on dragonspine, you found him sitting on a wooden chair, leg on top of the other and a strong glare targeted at you, almost like a parent about to scold their child for coming home late.

"well?" he said, standing up and walking closer to you,

"huh?" obviously, you loved seeing the alchemist jealous, it was a rare sight, so you wanted to stretch this predicament out as much as you could. sure it was kind of cruel, but you deserved it !! #gasslight #girlboss #gatekeep

after a few more minutes of interrogation, the scientist finally snapped

itto is really stupid

like hes STUPID stupid ykwim

he wont realise that constantly talking and fawning over somebody else, especially in front of you, would most likely make you jealous. everyday, once he got his ass kicked by kujou sara, he would come to you to recover and have his wounds treated. whilst you bandaged him up, he would relentlessly talk about sara, and how he admired her courageousness and whatever (you stopped listening whenever her name was mentioned) after all, you worked under her excellency, kokomi, the shoguns army weren't worth your attention.

but apparently they were worth ittos attention 🙄👎

you finished placing bandages on the feral onii as he finished talking about his latest clash with the kujou captain. sometimes you wished you could just bandage his mouth closed and make him pay attention to you for once, his loving, awesome, significant other, but noo he just had to be annoying and-

"ow ow ow hey!"

looking up, you realized you had tightened one of his bandages too much, the white cloth pressing onto his wound. you mumbled a few apologies before looking down again, thumbing with your left over medical supplies. you felt his sharp claws reach up and stroke your chin, holding your face up for you to see him. eyes softened, he leaded in and gave you a few pecks on your forehead and one on your upper lip.

"wanna talk about it?"

iii. diluc

diluc is too chad to feel jealous, the only person he would feel even mildly jealous about is kaeya 👹👹🙏 but you on the other hand?? naurr you get jealous every week

you see how he and jean interact with each other, with such respect, honour, and suffocating friendliness, but you've convinced yourself that politeness was all it was, after all, you admired jean and you always would. Donna, on the other hand, annoyed you quite a bit. her hands always wondering on him, (though he normally shook her off), flirting with him, fantasizing about him, it was enough to make you sick just thinking about it.

she was well aware that the two of you were together, did that stop her? no 🤡

in fact, it made her more persistent, pushing you away or belittling you when diluc was around, and going back to her normally shy and quirky nature. diluc has told you that he had no interest in her, and has even gone as far as suggesting a ban on her appearance to his tavern. you turned down this offer, it was just a little bit of jealousy after all.

iv. kaeya

mf deliberately makes you jealous just to piss you off and get your attention, hes done it so many times your basically used to it, which means he has to find other means of getting your attention 😇🙏

v. venti

nobody flirts with him so why get jealous?? asf

but, you do get jealous about how much attention he gives to his alcohol and the tavern 🙄👎👎 LIKE not you acting goofy getting drunk off your ass !!

and of course, you always have to drag him home and stay in bed with him until he passes out. though, when you do confront him about his alcoholism and how you would like to spend time with a sober venti, he resorts to singing you songs he wrote just for you, taking walks around windrise and picking the pinwheel flowers near his statue, and of course taking rides and sightseeing with dvalin, just as a reminder that he loves you, his muse, dearly.

though, we all know the next day his goblin looking ass will find its way back inside of that damned tavern 👺🤬
