I think about Roy's tabloid fodder days all the time... his attention whore days. No man who is THAT annoyed he didn't make it into his girlfriend's photoshoot is as disdainful of public attention as he claims to be now that he's a grouch. Before it was a yellow card offence, Roy 100% took off his shirt every time he scored a goal. He did the cringe charity single and a cringe music video to go with it. He's done beer ads and watch campaigns and photoshoots wearing ridiculously expensive menswear. He's been on trains and street corners and billboards looking rugged and manly and hot. Whatever the fuck went on with Gina Gershon was probably very public. The rolex stealing girlfriend, also public. THE SEX RUMOURS. There are extremely compromising pictures of Roy out there in various states of drunkenness and/or public groping that will one day become weapons in Phoebe's arsenal when she's a teenager protesting her curfew. He's lucky youtube wasn't much of a thing because he probably had some truly cringeworthy interview fragments. We've seen Jamie's “I'm the island's top scorer.... sexually :)” clip but I guarantee... whatever is out there of Roy is WORSE

Ah, what is this? Perhaps in its haste to push itself back to its feet, The Lamb had neglected to realize that their actions had caused quite a bit of a scene within the cult's grounds. That was to say that if The Lamb had not been privy to the tension in the air before, they certainly were now — the many whispers of its followers seem to fill their ears at once, each voiced concerned only serving to further the pounding in their head. Yet again, it attempts to push itself to its feet in a feeble effort to assuage their worries, arms trembling ever-so-slightly with the exertion of it all…

Only for everything and everyone surrounding them to vanish in an instant. The familiar sensation of a numbing pressure begins to replace the former headache, driving away some of the pain, for better or worse. Unpleasant as it may have been for ??? to barge their way into its thoughts, it was certainly better than the alternative agony of earlier. Likewise, the sight of the stars glimmering within the nameless god's robes is rather comforting in its own right — a fact in which The Lamb would never admit to, even as their eyes begin to droop shut. However, with a shaky breath, the little sheep shakes themselves awake; it would seem as if they were not yet willing to accept the terms of the situation they had found themselves in. Nay, they simply continue to stare up towards the other deity, its tired gaze remaining stubborn as ever as it listens to their explanation in silence.

And silent, does The Lamb remain as it attempts to process ???'s words throughout the ebbing waves of its aches and pains. Alas, it is not exactly panic that grows within its chest at the thought of what He had done to them so much as it is a burning rage that takes form in its heart — just one of many such betrayals on the behalf of their predecessor, in the end. Perhaps they should have only expected as much, in retrospect…those damned bishops had always been the sort to act on impulse, with naught but their own interests in mind. Still, to accept the reality that had been laid before them was proving to be rather difficult for The Lamb to come to terms with. With a soft huff of annoyance, it completely ignores the gentle hand that has been offered upon it, not wanting to dignify the gesture with any sort of response.

"…Why yes, I had assumed that my body was more than capable of surviving this…transition to godhood. It has always done so before, so why would I possibly think any differently now?"

Letting out yet another frustrated sigh, The Lamb closes its eyes as the nameless being's hand combs through its hair aimlessly…it would seem as if they had given up on the idea of fighting for their own personal space, for now. After all, there was no use in wasting what little energy they had left in arguing with ??? there; not when the battle had only just begun. The mention of having to rest for a handful of weeks does not appear to have gone over well with them, as it were. For a split second, its ears pin flat against its skull, eyes pinning rather anxiously before they're able to regain their composure. Crossing their arms indignantly, The Lamb continues to sit up straight as it signs to ??? further…or, at least as straight as they can manage to, given the circumstances.

"Oh, please…do not think that I need your pity now. I have managed just fine on my own before you arrived, and I am more than capable of continuing to do so. Besides…"
