my own personal opinion on the rottmnt turtles in hogwarts houses:
Miguel: Ravenclaw. Mikey is SUPER creative, it's kind of his thing. Ravenclaws also value wit, and all of Mikey's jokes are well-timed, he's got a mental sharpness and has an inventive way to make a joke. He's also really smart - the episode with the mystic metal? he says to raph "we're not saying you never have good ideas, we're just saying that sometimes we do to!" he's got street smarts and creative smarts, and strategic smarts. (he could really be any house, i think
Ravenclaw would be the best fit tho) he's the ravenclaw who you think doesn't belong there, but once you get to know the house you'd never be able to imagine him anywhere else.
Big Red: Hufflepuff! Raph is like ... the definition of Hufflepuff. Loyalty, patience, trust, strong sense of justice, hard-working. Literally Raph. I think he could be in Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but Hufflepuff would suit him best (in my opinion.) Plus, he's always trying to better the team by doing team building exercises (at least i think he does that often, seems like something he'd do) and teamwork is a big part of the hufflepuff house. he's the stereotype of the house - looks open and friendly, who's hugs are warm and safe.
Von Ryan: Slytherin. Before anyone yells, I'm both a donnie kinnie and a slytherin. Donnie belongs here lmao. The way he always tries to improve himself and is extremely goal-oriented. Slytherins value resourcefulness, and Donnie has had to learn to be resourceful when living in the sewers. He gets all of his stuff from a junkyard. Plus, dry humor? perfectionist? big on cost/benefit analysis? donnie fr. he seems like the stereotypical slytherin, the one who's quiet and everyone thinks is evil. (he'd also excel at potions.)
Leon: Tbh, he's pretty hard. I think he could either be gryffindor or slytherin, but also ravenclaw and fit almost perfectly in those houses, but I think he belongs in slytherin. im also a leo kinnie (heh) and honestly? Sarcastic humor, confident (or pretends to be,) competitive and charismatic? literally both signs of gryffindor and slytherin? it's so hard but he has a practical eye and the ability to quickly adapt when needed. he also has a lot of common sense, instead of taking on things he knows he can't do he results in something achievable (paper theives) and he's incredibly persuasive, a trait valued by slytherins. he seems like the slytherin who thinks they're better than everyone else, and once you get to know them you realize they actually are.
April: Hard one! She's so spunky and full pf personality (i love her so much) but i think she belongs in gryffindor. The first episode alone shows me that. Gryffindor traits are bravery, honor, loyalty, boldness and have strong moral centers. I think this is mostly shown in her interactions with the boys. (which is like the only interactions she has ok i know) She's willing to dive head-first into a conflict if it meant she could help her family somehow. There's no doubt that she would go to the ends of the earth for them, and if you think she'd turn her back her boys, you're crazy.
Cassandra: Gryffindor. Don't argue. When reading her wiki (it describes the characters way more in depth than i could) it talks about how much she values being loyal to the foot clan and how energetic/enthusiastic she is. She's courageous and stands up for what she believes is right, just like a gryffindor. She's always wanting to better herself and is quite stubborn.
Casey Jr: I know what house he's in, but i almost didn't want to sort him because it meant someone would be alone...he's a hufflepuff, through and through (i feel bad for leaving mikey alone, but he'll make friends soon enough.) Casey is hard-working and loyal, as we can see in the movie - taking on the mission leo told him to, and not once complaining, just worried about how he could complete it. He has honest the whole way through, not sugar coating anything to beating around the bush. and unafraid of being direct. He's also very polite and kind (i love him guys) and listens to other's input and ideas.

Hello, hello! This week, we are going on a little:
Home Tour!
Notes: Answer the following with pictures (dialogue from your characters is optional!). Collages are highly encouraged if you want to answer a question with multiple pictures because tumblr mobile only allows 10 total pics. Otherwise, tumblr on a desktop lets you add multiple pictures (non-beta)!
For both:
What does the outside of the home look like? (Front/back yard, garden, pool, etc)
Living room and home office (if any)?
Kitchen and dining room?
Bedrooms? (Master, guest, others)
Other rooms?
Do you own your dream home? If not, what does that dream home look like?
What is your favorite room to spend time in with each other?
Hey Bree! Sorry for responding so late (again lol). I'm no expert at interior design so please bear with me. Once again this was great to do and thank you for doing this my dear. Without a further ado, let's go!
Note : these are answered not as newlyweds but about 6 years into their marriage.
{Previous parts here}
****
Olivia *calling out * : Babe are the girls ready?
Ethan *rushing down the stairs holding two small bags* : Yeah all good, Liv! Vic, Lisa go say bye to mommy.
*the two little girls run over to where Olivia is standing and hug her tightly*
Olivia : Be good for auntie Sienna okay?
Both the girls : yes mommy! Love youu
Olivia : I love you too my princesses. Now go with daddy. Have fun!
Ethan *kissing Liv's forehead* : I'll be back in 30 minutes, love. When is Bree coming?
Olivia : In about an hour or so. Drive safe baby.
Ethan : always
----an hour later----
*doorbell rings and Olivia opens the door*
Bree : Hey Liv!
Olivia : Bree! Come in!
Bree : thank you. How are you all doing?
Olivia : we're good. You know the usual. How about you? Can I get you some coffee, tea? Oh I have some cupcakes too if you want.
Bree : A coffee would be nice, thank you. So a house tour today! Are you excited?
Olivia : Oh yes! But Ethan popped down to leave the girls to Sienna, he must be arriving any minute--
Ethan : Darling I'm home!
Olivia : there he is.
*Ethan comes in and hugs Liv*
Ethan : Welcome to our home Bree. How have you been?
Bree : Everything's good, thanks for asking. So ready to start the tour?
Olivia : Let's go!
Front door, pool/backyard etc
Olivia : Okay, you saw the front door but I assume you need some photos right?
Bree : that's right.
Ethan : okay the let's go from there.
Tumblr media
Olivia : We really fell in love with this house because there are so many large windows allowing plenty of light inside. I know it seems like a traditional American home but I adore it.
Bree : It's beautiful.
Ethan : Going to the back is the garden/backyard. We allow the girls only here because it's protected and there's tons of space for them to run around.
Olivia : We also added furniture here because we always love hanging out and eating here. Plus it's great for parties and having our friends over.
Living room and home office
Ethan : technically we have two living rooms.
Olivia : Yes, one is larger and more "formal" while the other is more cozy and the decor is a bit different. The whole house is in tones of white, blues, greys and black, while this room is a bit warmer. We have the TV there and a little bit of something else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bree : Wow your home is truly beautiful. Liv, I didn't know you played.
Olivia : Thank you Bree. I actually took years of lessons as a kid and teen. Then with college and med school it was pushed to the back. Ethan didn't know about it till we met my parents who still had my baby grand tuned. *going over to the piano and softly stroking the keys* Ethan got me this as a gift for our 5th wedding anniversary. The girls love to hear me play and they seem interested in music too... Want me to play you a piece?
Bree : Wow.. I mean.. If you're sure...
Olivia *smiling* : Take a seat.
*Olivia plays a soft yet cheerful tune on the piano. She finishes and gets up to the applause of Ethan and Bree*
Olivia : Thank you guys. Alright let's move to the office.
Ethan : We try to not bring work back home, but we need the office on the days we need to work from home. We added the library too, so this room is more than a workplace.
Olivia *smirking* : sure is. Plenty of uses for this room. Right darling?
Ethan : Let's move to the kitchen.
Kitchen and dining room
Olivia : This is our dining room and straight ahead the kitchen.
Tumblr media
Olivia : I just love the black wood on the kitchen and there's so much counter space.
Ethan : We spend lots of time here because we both enjoy cooking together, but also because our girls are very into it too. They like to have us cut their vegetables, for example, into shapes and arrange then in their plates. Or baking with Liv. It's a mess after but it's worth it.
Olivia *smiling* : Totally worth it
Bedrooms (master, kids, guest)
Ethan : Upstairs we have all the bedrooms. This is our master bedroom and bathroom.
Tumblr media
Ethan : Olivia really outdid herself with our bedroom. The colors are so calming.
Olivia : Thanks babe. The bedrooms next to ours are the girls' ones.
Tumblr media
Ethan : in the future, if they agree, we're thinking of them moving into a single room. They are pretty close and even now, they are together all the time, they just sleep in different beds.
Olivia : Lastly down the hall is the guest room.
Tumblr media
Other rooms?
Olivia : Back to our bedroom we go!! My darling Bree I present you our walk in closet!
Tumblr media
Olivia : I've wanted to have this as soon as we saw the house so we had some alterations to the house plan and ta-da!
Ethan : She's always so excited to be here.
Olivia : It's my paradise Ethan. Now let's go to the basement.
Ethan : This is our bar/adult playroom.
Tumblr media
Olivia : Aka his man cave.
Ethan : I am not going to comment on that. Besides your friends are here all the time too so it is not a man cave.
Olivia : Whatever you say babe. He did a good work with the decor. All by himself. I'm still seriously impressed.
Ethan *chuckles* : You are so surprised
Olivia : You can't blame me. Now the last room. Our very own home theater!!
Tumblr media
Olivia : definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. We needed this in our home.
Ethan : I wanted a home gym but she convinced me to do this instead.
Olivia : Pf please. There are plenty of gyms around but this? Our own place to watch movies? Just relaxing and doing nothing but cuddling and --
Ethan : Okay you're right, we know it, love.
Olivia *grinning*: We've been together for years, yet these words remain my all time favorite.
Ethan : *lovingly rolls eyes and smiles*
Do you own your dream home?
Ethan : We do.
Olivia : Absolutely. When we got married we decided we would stay at Ethan's apartment for a couple of years, then look for a house. We did intend to have a family so...
Ethan : We bought this house around the start of Liv's second pregnancy with Elisa and by the time she gave birth the house was ready to be furnished. We moved here about 3 months later, with lots of help from our family and friends.
Olivia : And this home, every part of it, was shaped by both of us so we do love living here.
What is your favorite room to spend time in with each other?
Ethan : Well... Aside firm the bedroom... The "informal" living room. There are days we'll just be sitting, Liv playing and me reading and just being together. It's the moments of calm that we need and keep us going.
Olivia : Plus, it's the place we spend time with our girls as a family. We always make sure to have time for them every day, despite our schedules. We want them to feel close to us and *holding Ethan's hand and looking at him* I think we are doing a pretty good job with them.
Bree : Honestly, I have no doubt that you do. Thank you for having me here guys, your home is absolutely fantastic.
Ethan : It's always a pleasure Bree.
Bree : I'll see you both soon, then. Have a great afternoon!
Olivia : You too Bree!

Top 10 fandoms go
Hmm, rating fandoms as a whole can be difficult, since ppl usu think of bad things first when they think of things memorable that have happened in fandom, and I'm no different in having that bias when I think about fandom. The squeakey wheel gets the grease and all! Instead of mentioning the fandoms themself, I'll ramble and will tell u my fav shows, games, movies, and books that I am technically a part of the fandoms of! Or, am adjacent to enjoying the stuff, dunno how involved, if at all, ya gotta be to call yourself a part of a fandom, or just, an enjoyer of the media in question.
These aren't in order of how much I like them, just top ten of each. As is obvious, I am a simple basic gal who's eternally a sucker for animation, happy endings, kids content, and to be completely honest, a lot of popular stuff. Opinions and personal taste, it's ok if ya completely disagree with me on anythin!
Movies:
Tumblr media
1 The Iron Giant-Excellent writing, excellent humor, very moving. Watched it like 7 million times as a kid, have it memorized. Will never get sick of it!
Tumblr media
2 Cats Don't Dance-So sweet, simple and darling, great music, characters, everything. I love sappy found family, love the animation, also have the whole movie memorized, not just the songs, everything, though Tell Me Lies is what I'm most likely to sing to myself
3 Kiki's Delivery Service-Good cheer me up movie, encouraging, delightful, timeless
4 Atlantis: The Lost Empire-One of the most quotable movies ever, every character is just so dynamic for what little screen time they get
Tumblr media
5 Raggedy Ann and Andy:A Musical Adventure-So, so so cute and innocent, and some of the best animation you'll ever see
6 Steven Universe: The Movie-YES. JUST. YES. THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK, ONNNNN LOOOOOP!!!
7 The Cat Returns-Funny as heck, uplifting and lighthearted
8 Howl's Moving Castle-Literally every good thing anybody's ever said about it, unexaggerated, I usu don't go for romances but Ghibli just does it right
9 How to Train Your Dragon-Clever, well paced, bangin music, fun, eye pleasing, technically better than the books, but man I wish they'd kept the original plot and made it a tv series
10 The Secret of Nimh-Gorgeous, well paced, whimsical, classic Don Bluth majesty.
11 Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders-Really fun, very nice dialog, feels more "real" than a lot of scooby contents dialog ever felt, without being crass, yknow? Like, they're still the same nerdy goody two shoes meddling kids, but at the same time, it's got that same smooth, natural feel only Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and Where's My Mummy really shared, typical friend group banter and well meaning teasing like Daphne sticking her nose up at Velmas taste in men, Crystal trying not to sound judgey (and failing) at Shaggys name being Norville. Cute, silly romance, good pacing, I'm totally not biased by nostalgia or anything no sir
Books (I haven't read book in awhile outside of school cause no attention span, so bare with me here, lots of nostalgia skewed choices
Tumblr media
1 Holes-Literally perfect. Blessed with one pf the few ever actually good and accurate movie adaptations, but the books still better. Such astoundingly good writing. Got me emotional. The sequel Small Steps is great too
2 How to Train Your Dragon-The whole series tbh, amazing plot and characters, better than the movie series plot honestly, but no where near as funny, very clearly set to the humor of 3rd grade boys, some poo jokes and the like, not for everybody. I like kids content, lol, will forever mumble "I'm a jellyfish in a skirt" to myself
3 A Series of Unfortunate Events-Whole series, Quirky, clever, strange, sad. Exactly what you'd expect from the pen name Lemony Snicket. I love his random tangents nsskjcsjdj
4 Bunnicula-Whole series, but especially Bunicula Strikes Again, very funny, wholesome series, very quick read, can't recommend enough. My favorite book series ever.
5 The ABC Mysteries-Gonna call myself out here, only Agatha Christie book I've ever finished, I'd usu just watch the show with my parents, lol, which is also quite good. As clever as you'd expect from the great Hercule Poirot.
6 The Hobbit-Dad read it to me when I was very very teeny so it barely even counts, IM GONNA READ LOTR ONE DAY I PROMMY I JUST GOTTA GET MY BRAIN WORKIN THOSE BOOKS INTIMIDATE ME. What I do remember was quite nice though, love the ragtag group teasing Bilbo.
7 Do dogs in general count as a fandom? Lol, I love to peruse this giant Dog Encyclopedia I got when I was 10 at Christmas, gives dog biology, histoey, care,, and breed knowledge, lists every single breed and its possible colors, needs, size, past use, whether good with kids, etc. I love Labrodoodles. They never look real, even in person.
8 Howl's Moving Castle-Everyone is extremely sassy all the time, it's awesome
Tumblr media
9 Redwall- Really immersive, transports you to a different world well, also read Mattimeo, always liked the birds, if the old timeyness or the 5000 sequels intimidate you I suggest the show, it's more relaxed dialogue wise but despite being a kids show, it doesn't skimp on the on screen(? Dang memory) deaths, so be careful.
10 Bone-Full series, Graphic Novels, quick, thrilling reads, some ducktales vibes, a beautiful fantasy epic, but most memorable for the great humor and characters. The world might end but Smiley cannot be darned.
Games
Tumblr media
1 Undertale-One of the most amazing subversions of not just video game storytelling, but storytelling, period. Your choices have a consequence in Undertale, and it makes the characters feel real in a way many games can't. All you take for granted as instinctual game logic will be called to question in Undertale. The concepts of family, forgiveness, choice, loyalty, identity, Undertale does not let you escape anything without making you think. Nothings wrong with more relaxed games where you can just thoughtlessly be a little evildoer without much consequence, or at least not consequences emotionally, but if that's the only kind of game you'll like, Undertale isn't for you.
As powerful as the games story is, and the tension that haunts you for replaying despite its immense replay ability, the game isn't too somber, it is very, very funny, and very hopeful, depending on how you play it. Love the puzzles, but beware if bullet hell games stress you out. Also, there are themes of suicide within the game, so trigger warning for that, and child death.
2 Wandersong.-A pure delight. One of the most happy, hopeful games you'll ever play. Brightly colored and lovingly made, like Wander Over Yonder, there's a new color pallete in each area. It's gorgeous to look at, and some of the most fun gameplay ever. A very forgiving game, doesn't ever send you back very far if you mess up, not a game to cause stress. The singing and dancing is endlessly fun, the love in the details is boundless, you'll never believe it was made by only three ppl.
Very good story too, it can get serious at times, with talk of war and death, but it never pulls down the sense of hope throughout the story. The game may seem simple at first, but the story has some very interesting twists I didn't see coming. Wonderful characters, wonderful songs, wonderful everything. You get to play a bard and save the world, what's not to like? You will spend ALOT hours just dinking around in this game, it's great.
3 Hollow Knight-On the opposite end of excellence, Hollow knight is almost Wandersongs mirror, equal in quality imho, but opposite in every way. It also will also give you countless hours of entertainment, and is very emotional and wonderful, but in an extremely melancholy way. While there is joy here and there, this game is very dismal, and not to be played of you are not ready for many characters to get sad ends. It also is not very forgiving, you will need to be patient to beat this game, and very skilled to see extra story bits, or willing to just youtube some cutscenes, lol. Very good atmosphere, if Wandersong feels like a joyous pop up book bring to life, Hollow Knight feels like a beautiful collection of detailed oil paintings.
4 Smile for Me-Not too difficult, not very long, nice eclectic cast of characters, very adorable, with some sprinkled in sinister. Also I'm just so in love with how the characters talk. Not just the goofy sounds they make as they speak, but the bonkers things they say, everyone's weird and I love them.
5 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky-The power of friendship man. It just never gets old. Very good writing, both in script in plot. A LOT of story too, lots of twists and turns, mysteries and revelations, and your only halfway done when the main story's done. Incredibly living, earnest story, really puts a smile on your face. The partner is the biggest sweetheart. Also, you get to be a pokemon!!! Heck yeah!!!
6 Wind Waker-Absolutely amazing, everyone knows it, lots of game play, amazing artstyle unique for a zelda game, with very expressive characters, good humor and countless side quests, your very own boat. A good time.
7 Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility-Nostalgia def coming in big time with this one, but it's just so cute man, you build rainbows ride ostriches and can get married and have 5 pets and go mining and buy a big ol rancher hat. Live off the land and say there there in a cutsey voice when you pet your cows. Makes me happy.
Tumblr media
8 The Dog Island-Why does everyone always act so surprised that the plot of this game is so dang good?? People have been writing stories about animals dealing with the concept of death for forever, why does this one shock them? Besides, it is one of if not the most lighthearted stories on this list, you get to pick your dog breed and go on a magical adventure to save your sibling in an adorable fantasy world! Its very fun qnd laid back, it's got great music and characters, no gender locked items, and while sniffing will need to be done throughout the whole game, there are plenty of other game mechanics, fishing, bug catching, races, etc. Petasi is perfect in every way and we don't deserve em.
9 Portal 1 and 2-Duh! One of the best game series ever made! Despite the gloomy setting, it's not the kind of game to bring you down, Glados is the most character ever and you'll never get enough of her, great puzzles, great everything, the cake may be a lie but the hype isn't.
10 Celeste-A treasure that hits close to home to those with anxiety. A beautiful, emotional platformer game that may take you awhile, but is more than worth it. It's made perfectly for ppl with anxiety too, a very hard game at its default, but with all kinds of settings to make it easier so you don't have to be an epic gamer toplay it. Very touching, very good gameplay, homey 8 bit artstyle.
Tv shoes
Tumblr media
1 Wander Over Yonder-My favorite show ever. EVER. The animation, the humor, the characters, there is nothing this show can do wrong. Elastic, smooth, rich movement, countless gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous backgrounds, color schemes, extremely creative background characters, complete goofballs for main characters, yet you get so attached to them, take them so seriously. And the show is constantly improving throughout! Craig McCracken being an animation beast, like always. Peepers needs anxiety meds.
2 Over The Garden Wall-Dare ya to find a flaw with this series. Dare ya. Dripping with atmosphere, gets you so in love with the cast in just 10 episodes, so many easter eggs and clever foreshadowing, Gravity Falls and Steven Universe levels of you can never watch it the same way twice. Stunning voice cast, hilarious, timeless, gorgeous, I recommend it to literally anyone and everyone. Woy is my fav, but Otgw is the best, if that makes sense? Wander is glorious, but attracts a specific audience, would not make people who don't like sillyness happy, and does make plenty of more recent references. Although it doesn't rely on them, they are often. Despite the countless cultural references such as Dantes Inferno and rubber hose and the like, Over the Garden Wall will never age.
Tumblr media
3 Infinity Train-Insane levels of creativity, boundless opportunity in its amazing setting, and uses it to its fullest. An emotional rollercoaster, always keeping you on the edge of your train seat, amazing character designs, and even better writing. Not the funniest show on this list, but some of the most clever humor, if that makes sense. Wanders cancellation hurt a lot too, but that ending felt a lot more solid, while Infinity Train didn't leave on a cliffhanger, all the questions it left with drive me crazy, esp when Owen wanted 8 seasons. You should still watch it tho, each season can stand on its own, although the ways they connect are awesome, like that ever present darn cat. No, I shall not grace her with her The, cause even though she's amazing I'm mad at her.
4 OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes!-One of the funniest shows on this list, if not the funniest besides Wander and Gumball. Like Wander, it's very wholesome, like Gumball, it starts off just sweet, but gets way more unhinged as the series goes on, and the writers really start to realize what they can get away with, not in a dirty way, but in a, can we pull this insanity off in 11 minutes and not fry anyone's brain? Not as cynical as Gumball, just shares the memey fast paced meta humor. When a joke falls flat, which is rare, like Gravity Falls, you barely notice, cause a new better joke is already happening. Good story, good characters, the cancelation is sad, but doesn't leave you hanging or anything.
5 Sym-Bionic Titan-CANCELLATION VERY MUCH LEAVES YOU HANGING OR ANYTHING. Freaking amazing series, but get attached at your own risk, plot does NOT get resolved. Great action, characters, humor, typical awesome Genndy Tartakovsky extreme facial expressions, cute romance.
6 Gravity Falls-What can I say that hasn't already been said? Amazing characters, mystery, suspense, very rewatchable, all around loved. Had a lot more fat jokes in it than I remembered though, very disheartening.
7 The Amazing World of Gumball-Laugh your self silly humor, gets better as the series goes on, doesn't let the cynicism ruin the show or its surprisingly wholesome moments, endlessly creative and a treasure visually, right when you think there's no way they can break the 4th wall in a way they haven't already, they do, plot sneaks up on ya once in awhile. Like We Bare Bears, it's mini arcs, not a full length plot, you you can watch out of order, but I don't recommend it.
8 We Bare Bears-Charming and dear to my heart. Usually a good comfort show, but once in awhile feels come and punch you in the gut. Great characters, humor, nice rainy day show.
9 Ducktales-Francisco Angones, one of the main writers on Wander, has done it again, him and Matt Youngberg made a modern masterpiece, one of the most well rounded shows I've ever seen. No bad episodes. The writers are huge nerds for the old series and comics, esp the comics, and it shows! It's insane how many characters they're able to bring back without hurting the plot. So much happens, and it all fits so seamlessly. Constant nods to old duck artwork, a cohesive mixture of the entire Duckverse (marvel wishes), goof troop, dark wing, tailspin, the life and times of scrooge mcduck, Donald's diary, rescue rangers, gummi bears???? EVERYONE IS HERE!!!!! Amazing animation, quick, smart humor, superb plot, and as always, a great series puts its focus on its characters. Would suggest to anyone oddly enough, never strays too far into silly or serious to be for one group, like Gravity Falls or otgw.
Tumblr media
10 and of course, as you saw coming if you've so much as glanced at my blog, STEVEN UNIVERSE!!!-Where do I even start. I can not begin to express how this show gets my emotions. How much I think about the characters every single day. Rebecca Sugar writes emotion like no one else. Everything feels so palpable, so close to your own heart, the characters are vastly interesting and complex, and the cast is just full of richly fascinating and morally grey characters, like, actually morally grey, not edgy anti hero who wants everyone to die and who's few connections are killed off for shock before you even got attached to them. Characters who's actions are understandable but not excused, characters who live a story full of hope, that declares you can break the cycle of abuse, you can find love, even for yourself.
This is gonna sound like a pretty darn crazy take, and just to remind, this is all opinions, it's okay if you disagree, but I think Steven Universe is the best written show out there besides Otgw. I mean it. The realistic writing of kids, the honest writing of trauma, the amazing pacing (which, anyone who's ever been ticked off by CNs stupid scheduling or doesn't like "filler" character development episodes will kick and scream at hearing given any praise), the natural, charming dialogue, down to the awkward pauses, dad jokes, soft humph of someone picking something up, leaves out no details that could keep you from feeling a part of Steven's Universe.
I think a lot of the hate the shows writing gets for anything other than season 5s ending (which would have felt a lot less rushed if CN let Rebecca have more seasons like they wanted, I'm still mad about the chest CN), comes from people equating not making them happy personally as written bad.
A lot of people suggest SU to friends applauding it as a space war drama, but they fail to mention its also very consistently a comedy. If you don't like comedy, if you don't like sillyness, you won't like su, I'm sorry. You can't just watch the plot episodes and feel satisfied, the characters development and drop fed foreshadowing is what makes the emotional and plot pivotal moments really hit. Episodes that seem filler besides character bonding to get you attached to them turn out to be VERY important later. A cherry picked Universe has no punch. If you don't like su season 1, it's nothing wrong with you or the show, it's just not your genre. The only problem with season 1 is Cat Fingers and Frybo being so close to the beginning of the show, quite the tonal whiplash.
I never understood people saying season 1 is bad but future is good, the whole show is an unapologetically weird lil comedy, future is the only season as crazy as season 1, as the show always follows Steven's mental state, and he's as lost as he was with his powers at s1. People don't realize it's not the humor thats the problem, the show just doesn't usually meet their preferred angst level. I hate the sentiment a shows only well written when it's sad. If you don't like sillyness, this show isn't for you, and that's fine! But if you do. Holy Moly. There will never be a show like Steven Universe. It has a depth I cannot describe, the only way you can fully take it in, is to watch.

I was walking, I tended to do that when I had to think, and today was a thinking kind of day. I’m not exactly a thinking kind of guy if I am being honest. Most of the time the inside of my head is a wasteland of song lyrics, movie clips, and microwave noises, but right now I had to try and figure some things out.
First and foremost I had been thinking about the spiderlings  a lot lately. It hurt e all over to think the things I was thinking now, but it had to be done.
The spiderlings, when it came right down to it, were just kids like toddlers. They were still learning how to interact with people, they were still growing up, and admittedly, I wasn’t doing a very good job at parenting. First and foremost, however, was the fact that they shouldn’t even be on the ship in the first place. Children weren’t allowed on UNSC ships unless there was  rescue mission going on, or they were being transported for some reason.
No one else on the ship would be allowed to take their kids with them, so why should I. It sort of wasn’t fair if you thought on it for a little bit.
Number two, it wasn’t exactly fair to the spiderlings either. They needed some sort of education if they wanted to live in this universe as it was, and right now I didn’t have time to sit them down and teach them anything. I honestly couldn’t really do anything for them at all know that I thought about it. I was horrible at discipline and even worse at teaching them  the things they should know.
They needed a preschool or something where they could learn how to read and write, though I had no real idea where to do that.
I had been thinking about this a lot lately based on some of the things I had come to realize while I was gone on leave, the number one being that I took too much on my shoulders. N o one here except for me was expected to father and run a ship at the same time.
If anything I was doing the spiderlings a disservice by keeping them here.
It hurt me to say all of that because the aggressive controlling part of me doesn’t want to admit that I can’t do all of it all by myself.
But I can’t.
However, I do know someone who potentially could if she was going to do what she said she was going to do.
A part of my, however, didn’t want to contact Eris.
We hardly knew each other and to ask for favors would be a bit much. Arguably the adaptids were older than she was, meaning that choosing her to help me in this endeavour wasn’t fair to her either, but who else was I going to get to take care of them.
One thing is for sure, they needed a lot of things that I just couldn’t provide, and that meant I was going to ave to let go.
Made me sick to my stomach but there you had it.
I admired it.
I Can’t do it.
I turned the corner onto the bridge my mind made up. I would have to Call Eris when we were out of warp and see if she would take another couple of hybrids.
I made myself feel a little better by promising I would call and visit as often as I could, though it hurt me to think how the spiderlings might respond to me just up and leaving them.
I tried to remind myself that I wasn’t up and leaving them, I was doing what any other father in the UNSC would have to do and that was find them a place to stay and learn and grow and all of those other things, but a part of me still felt horrible.
To take my mind off of that decision, I turned my head towards  one of the bridge crew members, “Grab a tablet and follow me.”
They did as told, bot up and followed.
It honestly still surprises me when people follow my orders. Like I expect to have to explain or justify my reasoning to them, but instead they sort of just get up and walk over like that was supposed to be how it worked.
I  wasn’t totally convinced.
I motioned them to follow and together we walked down the hall.
I took my first stop in the medical bay where  Krill and Katie working quietly to deep clean the med bay while there were no patients to work on.
Krill looked up and his antennae buzzed slightly when he saw me. A frown crossed his face as he looked me over, expecting some sort of injury. I have him a smile and almost winked but then remembered that when you have one eye winking just looks like blinking.
Katie straightened up, “Good morning Commander.” She said with a wide smile.”
That would always surprise me to, when your friends call you by a title.
“Morning Doctor.” I responded in kind walking over with my assistant at my heels.
Krill seemed to relax, “how may we help you this morning, commander.”
I took a seat on the edge of one of the beds and bounced my foot up and down a bit as i thought, “I was just thinking about the ship and how it’s run.”
They looked at each other.
I held up a hand, “Don’t worry it’s nothing like that. I just realized the other day that I don’t really know how things work on my own ship despite trying to control everything all the time, so I am going to go around to all of the departments get and idea of how they work, and what they do, and how they might need my help if anything.” I motioned back towards my assistant, “Lt. McKinnon is going to take notes for me, and then later on I am going to meet with the Jedi council, and we are going to decide how best to delegate and meet the needs of the ship more effectively.”
Katie raised an eyebrow, “The Jedi council?”
“Yeah, that’s what I am calling it, and you can’t make me decide otherwise.”
She rolled her eyes but smiled and I smiled back.
If they thought my idea was dumb, they at least humored me.
As far as my involvement, there really was none, though I had to make sure that everyone was up to date on their medical evals and vaccinations, which was probably a job I could delegate to someone else, or at least give Katie and Krill the power to do, so I would have to look into that later.
I stood from there and together me and my assistant moved to the other departments before slowly coming around to the rec hall where I knew I might find a particular grou pf of people.
Cannon was there as I expected he would be playing pool with a group of other Drev.
Cannon was a good shot while the others were a couple seconds away from poking each other in the eye with the cues, but they were laughing and talking rapid fire in drev, fast eough that I was having trouble understanding just exactly what they were saying.
Cannon leaned over the table and took a shot sending one of the balls into a corner pocket with a satisfying clatter.
The other Drev groaned and he raised his fist in triumph.
I approached once Cannon won the game, and the big guy saw me coming  raising the pool cue in greeting like he might raise a spear. The other Drev did the same
“Zhad tsak Hajee lasan jirhaat.”
I raised my hand and returned the greeting.
May your spear be sharp or something similar.
I kept the conversation mostly in Drev for the sake of the clan, “Cannon how are you this morning?”
He lifted his head to me, “Won seven duels and tested some of Chalan’s new weapons.”
I smiled, “Ben busy than I see.”
“I always try to keep it that way.”
Cannon was the defacto clan leader. Technically it was either sunny or I, but Sunny wasn’t reall the clan leading type and I had everything else to run so that gave Cannon most command over the Drev, which is why I was here.
“Just coming in to make sure you guys have everything you need and see if there is anything that you guys need done. Cannon obviouly you are on the jedi council, so you’ll figure this out later, but I want to make sure eveyrthing is running smoothly. Is there anything your clan needs to discuss.”
Cannon tapped his fingers agaisnt his carapace beore pulling me aside by the arm.
“Tatazan is…. Pregnant so, what should I do about that?”
A ton of bricks for Commander Adam Vir.
I blinked blindsides by that afformentioned rockslide, “I uh…. Hmm that is complicated.”
I turned to look at the floor. I suppose it should ahve occured to me that when we took on an entire Drev clan that we were also taking on mated pares. Now the UNSC guidelines about being in relationships didn’t cover the Drev considering that their battle partners were always thir significant other so hiring a Drev would be impossible if the rule was followed.
But I had failed to recognize the ‘mated’ part of a mated pair.
“Well shit.” I muttered
“This isn’t exactly ideal.”
Cannon nodded, “I think it might be best if the child is raised off the ship on Anin.”
“I tend to agree with you there.” I leaned in a bit, “I have been thinking about the same things for the spiderlings.”
He nodded knowingly.
“A ship is no place to grow up.”
I agreed no matter how much child me would have disagreed.
“We can discuss that in meeting tonight, though as clan leader you have the most say in this.”
He nodded his large head, “Where is my sister?” He wondered looking around for where she might be.
“I sent her off to play with making new weapons.”
“Sent her off?” Cannon chuckled in amusement
“Yeah, I think she worries about leaving me on my own, like I am going to set something on fire or something.”
“Have you set anything on fire/” He wondered wryly.
I smirked, “No but I’ve been thinking.”
“For you, that is actually worse than setting things on fire.”
The two of us laughed and I patted him on the arm as I returned him to the pool table and a second round of him kicking everyone’s ass.
Cannon was a good clan leader and had thrown himself into the work wholeheartedly. They respected him, and he got along with them. Not a day went by that you didn’t see him leading the Drev in some new sort of activity to broaden their horizons. I sortof wished Sunny would join them more often.  I think it would be good for her to speak her own language and have friends er own species, but I get why she tended to distance herself.
These Drev were from the same clan that mistreated her entire life, and memories lie that were difficult to forgive at times. Still, they had to be better than me, and I worried about her.
Sure spending her time being beautiful and nobley aloof all the time gave her an heir of…. Hmmm how shall I say…. Excitement and intrigue, but still…. I wanted her to be happy.
And as much as the greedy part of me wanted my friend all to myself I recognized that probably wasn’t a good thing.
I’d talk to her later about it I decided.
“Commander Vir to the  bridge, commander Vir to the bridge.”
I motioned my note taker to follow, and we hurried back to the bridge taking our seats. The captain’s chair was familiar at this point, but I still couldn’t shake off that tiny moment of thrill as I sat down.
“Report.”
“Warp ends in five minutes, commander.”
My heart pounded nervously in my chest. This was it, this was the big moment scientists had been waiting for forever. A real live real time picture of a black hole. Now it was important to keep away from the edge or risk time dilation, spegetiffication, and instant death.
The kid in me was about to pee himself in excitement, but the Commander in me was intent on not letting everyone die.
I picked up the com on the rest of the ship inviting them to prepare for warp exit, and then told them to get their asses up to the observation deck to see something awesome.
When I put the mic down I was back in commander mode ordering the crew to ready themselves for this moment.
My eyes were fixed straight ahead.
This was going to be insane.
If we came out of this wrong, we could be caught in the event horizon and be….
Goners.
“Exiting warp in ten.”
I prepared to take manual control of the ship breath held trying not to imagine what would happen if we appeared at the edge of the event horizon sailing on a dust cloud of light as we plunged towards our death, a black pit of nothingness.
“One”
The warp drie disengaged, and we jolted violently as the air warped around us.
I slammed back in my seat taking immediate control of the ship waiting for any warning bells to go off signaling extreme  gravity,
I took a relieved sigh when there was none and lifted my head to the viewing window.
‘“Ho-ly shit.” I muttered
The rest of the crew gasped.
It was…. Well it was wow.
IIf you guys have ever seen interstellar, I would go so far as to say that was pretty accurate.
From this distance the thing didn’t look so big, but the very marrow of my bones knew what it meant. The massive disk of light and dust that surrounded it slowly spiraling inward towards a pit of nothingness.
The halo ring of light that surrounded it glowed upward as unbelievable gravity refracted the back of the black hole towards the front.
It was like a dark eye in the middle of space staring outward at us unblinkingly as it lurked in the darkness...
This
Was the center
Of the Milky Way.

Just a quick question but what often gets you inspired?✨
Oh boy ehhhhhh - here we go to the never ending rabbit hole!!
Sometimes small things gets my attention like e.g. squirrels paws, unique red face of a person at a cold day or seeing chair upside down on icy lake (honestly I am now working on long comic about trolls inspired by that chair).
Comic art and animations inspires me greatly! Lately I have been inspired by animations gems like the thief and the cobbler, treasure island from 1988 (and other Soviet Union animations) and the king and the mocking bird. The animation process fascinates me greatly, how can one make smooth and imaginative animations is wonderful! I can't get enough of it all.
Also concept of kindness inspires me greatly. I have gone throw...lets say a lot. I love stories that show kindness where it is needed, e.g. Tove Jansson's story of invisible child. The child was bullied by their family so much that they turned completely invisible and lost their own voice, eventually they found confidence and selfworth in themselfs thanks to kindness of Moomins. I want my feelings to be seen and heard but sometimes world or people are overwhelming. Kindness is important, otherwise we will fall apart or at least I do. I am still on my way to be kind and understanding of myself and othets but those qualities are more important to me than ever.
Couple weeks ago I started to collect stuff that inspires me or I find interesting. I will list most of them below. If I am not saying anything about certain box, it means I enjoy the show/comic/meme/animal but cannot put my finger on why. Usually those make me smile and give new pespective about life. Somethings might be there twice because I am forgetful baboon!
Tumblr media
Junji Ito's horror comics are visually out of this world! But my fav is his humorous comic about his cats. It was so different from his other comics that I fell in love with it.
Emma manga made by Kaoru Mori. Usually I can't stand romantic stories but the characters but the story and the art works perfectly together in her comics.
Comics and animations of @cecameron are gorgeus and fun!
Tove Jansson's books, comics, art and life in general.
Rainbow Road from Muppets is my favourite song and I wish it would be played at my funeral one day. Its hopeful song that fills me with joy.
Entranta from Shera. She never gives up, I wanna be like her! I wanna see failure is part of the process and helps me get further little by little + its nothign to be shamefull of.
Ponyo's fathers frustration is relatable, also the whole movie is wonderful and colorful. Its maybe my favorite ghibli movie.
Scarr my beloved weirdo! The image was in the tarot pack of the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy and he is of course the hermit (which is my personality card)
@deep-dark-fears comics surprise me by giving new ideas to express fear.
Hugo Simberg was Finnish artist at 1900's. Symbolism and sympathetic characters of devils and death has inspired me since I was 8 years old.
Treasure planet is one of my favourite disney movies. The father son relationship between Silver and Jim is great and makes me cry everytime.
Hypnopotamus and Warren Stone from ROTTMNT. Their relationship is wholesome and inspiring + the show itself is fun, full of action and passion! I love it!
Tintin comics are almost religious in my family. It was one of the first comics I saw different from different parts of the world and how tintin could become friends even the most oddest (looking at you captain Haddock) people is marvellous.
The penguin my belowed ❤❤❤
Mörkövahti is Finnish children book that accidentally inspired me greatly. The world of troll like creatures, magical elements in the story and research of the creatures made me fall in love in the world of the books. I often love to read books for kids or teens, they are more interesting and I don't have to fear to be faced with rape, sexism and other nasty stuff.
Stop motion animation and expecially Arman animations have been always part of my life. I have soft spot for the pirates movie thanks to it's humor, naivety and animation style.
Adventure time is one of my favourite series and couple of things stuck with me. Some people are build different, you don't have to understand it but you need to respect them. I love this idea greatly and I try to live by it.
Pinsir is my favourite pokemon and it says a lot.
Mr Pogo and other smart ape characters inspire me greatly. No wonder new planet of the apes trilogy is part pf my movie collection. I am not sure why I love smart apes as characters but it always works.
Wander over yander whole concept is to be kind and help people out, I love it.
Peto was made for me by @elle-eedee at lgbtq trolls discord server. Peto ended up becoming my ultimate comfort character and I love to draw him and make stories for him. I loved the way elle-eedee combined my favorite things to create him ❤ also their colorful art inspires me everyone I see it.
@alioutfit blog is blog of style choices of man named Ali. I want to find my own style like Ali.
The murder she wrote is nostalgic for me and I wanna get into that series again! The fact smart older woman is the main focus inspires me. I love Agatha Christi stories too so it checks out.
Hugs + rottmnt. I love hugs and the show has a lot of good hugs!
Don Rosa's Donald Duck comics are the best! Those who don't know, Donald Duck comics are big in Finland!
Heikko Peikko (meaning Weak Troll) was stop motion animation series in Finland at 70's. Its wonky, basic and charming story of Heikko Peikko's everyday life.
The meme that made me less depressed
@foxing_around had wonderful comic that made me think over my friends over my sad ass.
Squirrels, I like them a lot. They remind me of my grandpa who loved forest and nature.
My sandwich with a face
Monsters petting each others! My friend has a lot of arkham maddness board games that comes with monsters. I like to play with the figurines, they are so lovely monsters!
Concept art of toothless from how to train your dragon. Why toothless couldn't look like this little ugly thing??? I would have loved him from bottom of my ❤
Kingdom of lonely bananas sign was at supermarket. Little imaginative ideas like these are great.
Pasila series is good stuff, it was said to be Finnish South Park.
My photo of snail ❤
WoY faces are glorious
The snow queen movie from 1957 gives me live. Its one of my favourite Soviet Union animation movie.
My photo of my special secret place at summer
I know only these two from Transformers comics and their love is wonderful. Truly I haven't read the comics...I wish I could tho!
Sherlock Holmes books are awesome
New ducktales series had so many characters from the comics I couldn't believe it at first! Finally I had my favourite characters like Fethry on the show!
I love odd looking animals because I am one too
Animal Crossing is a game I thought I would never play. It looked like a baby game when my big bro gave the it to me at the time gamecube was new console. He bought it because it had a memory card and he know nothing about the game. I tried it and never looked back ❤
The ping pong animation is my favourite animation series from Japan. I got the manga even I can't read it since it's straight from Japan. It's more about the lifes of the characters and how they grow as people than the game itself (or at least it feels like it). The story feels real in a way, that the characters are three dimensional and their reactions are natural. Some charachters stop developing as players, some loose interest completely, some work hard to be the best, some forget why they played in the first place and some found new ways to live their lives. The story is good for my soul.
Comic of @catmilks made me realise there are other people like me. The feeling of the comic is relatable and hopeful, things will pass and life goes on + make sure you take care of yourself.
Comics of @ stuffnoonetoldme made me reflect my life and how I see myself.
@diva-humon has good points of life. I realised I have very christian way of thinkin even I am not religious or have ever been part of any religios.
Suomenlinna, I loved it!

so for the first time I saw batman: the killing joke.
...
it was okay I guess. but massively overrated. I expected some fucking masterpiece of cinema but instead it was just two unrelated short films that were more style and flash than substance.
so first off, barbara's storyline was mediocre. franz wasn't a compelling villain; just a creep, and a trust fund brat. oh wow he's a mafia kid who stole his family's fortune by hacking. if it was the falcone family I'd have cared more but it wasn't so it's just some faceless deathfodder rando. who gives a shit. the whole situation was just a vehicle to shove batman's dick into babs. which kinda fucks over bruce's character here and judging by the timeline kinda makes him a bit of a groomer, yikes. bruce and gordon have known each other since bruce was a young boy and we know that bruce is way older than babs so yeah bruce totally knew her from birth until present day, he literally utilized an active power dynamic to police her crimefighting activities, and he should have fucking known better and stopped her when she kissed him because it would (and did) compromise their professional dynamic, but hey, batdick. and at least barbara recognized that she was behaving emotionally rather than logically when it came to bruce and paris and took the high road out. that would be a serviceable standalone episode to write her on a bus in a serialization but THIS IS A MOVIE. so for a waste of an already short runtime it's like having an appetizer before your meal but instead of something like a crab cake before stuffed flounder, you get greasy onion petals that are more fried batter than onion before getting a well done cheeseburger that's just a glorified hockey puck on a sponge with a kraft single on top. the animation and vocal delivery were excellent of course, not gonna disparage that aspect, so it was well made, but the writing was just not very good. a polished turd. quantic dream must have developed it then because it feels like I watched a david cage production.
so in a 78 minute movie, five of which were the credits, we had a half hour Disney/Pixar short except those bring joy and this brought boring. also there were a lot of shots of her ass tits and underwear that were obnoxiously male-gazey and there was a token gay for the sole purpose of dangling a carrot on a stick for the queers. look kids, warner brothers and dc comics cares about the lgbts! give us money! a waste of time before the real reason why anyone came to see the movie that literally only exists to pad out the runtime to make it a feature length (even though paying a full ticket would've been a total ripoff because, again, IT WAS ONLY 78. even 9 was 81 minutes long and that had an amazing storyline so I forgave it, but 78 minutes? ugh.
also, GOTHAM RAGE??? CRINGE. SO CRINGE.
alright now for the joker segment.
*ahem*
what the fuck? that sucked! *throws tomato*
mark hamill and the joker's lines and the art and the cinematography and the choreography was all good and the plot was cohesive. I get it.
but holy shit was the writing weak as fuck.
okay so some rando breaks the J-ster out of Arkham (already unlikely but ugh whatever), he didn't turn a trick or recruit or anything, he just went to purchase a carnival. or, steal one. but wait, he DID recruit, but he went to get all of the stereotypical Circus Freak™ stereotypes. little people, fat lady, bearded lady, wolf man, strongman, diaper man (wait, what?), and the two headed woman. I guess if you don't really think about why all of them were super readily available in the outskirts between arkham and gotham [i just realized they both end with -am] then it makes enough sense. and then literally right after that HE RECRUITS SOME GUYS TO HELP HIM KIDNAP GORDON. and then strips and photographs barbara. um. ew. you can tell the writer and director were men. Alan Moore is constantly molesting women in his comics and this one trick pony should be put down already. but whatever. the plot is weak and it only gets saved by the flashback sequences.
oh.
oh no.
they're not that great.
he's a failed unfunny comedian who just wants some money to move his wife to a better house so he turns to thievery with the mob. OR YOU COULD JUST STOP GOING TO THE BAR AND BLOWING IT ALL ON BOOZE. I mean the cops knew where to find him after all so clearly he's a repeat customer (or moore is a bad plot writer who relies on convenience and shut the fuck up and don't critically analyze it). alright so he gets wrapped up in the mob to perform a heist on a playing card factory. GET IT, BECAUSE HE'S THE JOKER??? and he uses the moniker of the red hood to retain his anonymity. I expected the mobsters to be working for francisco but no the paris storyline was only cooked up screenplay for passing the runtime so why would they do something clever and interesting and make the film cohesive? that'd be really stupid to make the movie feel more like one movie and not two short films. at least when grindhouse & planet terror did it they advertised themselves as an anthology film. whatever. he falls in the vat of acid which melts the red hood to his face and I gotta say that's actually a pretty good idea to get his face white and his hair green and his lips red. I like that part. oh wait I forgot about the most important part! his wife gets shoved in the refrigerator. OH WOW THAT'S JUST SO COMPELLING AND ORIGINAL, TOTALLY NOT SOMETHING THAT ALREADY HAPPENED TO GREEN LANTERN. TWICE. although she wasn't literally shoved into a literal refrigerator like alex was. rip in frozen pieces you absolute legend of a trope namer. alright, so... so the joker is sad because his wife died. you know, the wife we saw for two minutes and knew the moment we saw her drenched in sepia she was gonna die. and she died offscreen. kyle's gf died and he was fine. gordon's wife died and he was fine. batman's parents both died and he was fine. oh boo hoo someone I love died! fuck off. I am so goddamn sick of people trying to justify their evil with "I was sad once". it's a stupid trope and it's not compelling. the only valid version is doctor doofenshmirtz' evil(er) version in the PF movie because it's hilarious that it's because of a toy train because that's the emotional depth that fridgewomen is treated with in all of these storylines. but at least batman said so. oh yeah, I almost totally forgot, batman's in this movie.
batman punches people and nonlethally takes them out. by suffocating them and letting them get stabbed and throwing them into pits of spikes and HEY WAIT A GODDAMN SECOND! okay let's just ignore that bit and hope that the little people squeezed between the gaps in the spikes and the strongman could breathe in the face mask and the two headed women had KO gas and the fat lady was fat enough that the knives only stabbed her cellulite. it wouldn't be the biggest reach one would have to make in watching this fucking disaster of a plot mess.
now I did like that it was actually batman, and by that I mean he gave a shit about the insane because he recognizes that mental illness is not a cause of dangerous or criminal behavior, just a potential exacerbating factor if it wasn't treated. yeah he brutalized mobsters and crime lords but they were mostly in self defense while gathering intel. he politely asked sal maroni and the sex workers for information and they gave it to him without violence- he manhandled maroni but only after he reached into his pocket for a cigar which could've been a gun. also batman says sex work should be decriminalized if only by not ratting them out to the cops. he was a genuinely good person in the second half of the movie. too bad it was ruined by the shitty first half that made him a borderline groomer.
joker's song was... bad. mark hamill performed his ass off but the song wasn't that good. it just tried to be willy wonka if he was a voyeuristic monster. oh yeah have the only girl character be paralyzed stripped and photographed only to give her father ManPain™. again... the fuck? joker and batman were both gross but, again. male writers. if it was a one-off I could drop a thermian argument because, alright one and done makes sense, especially 1988 standards. but it saturated and soured the entire goddamn movie because of abhorrent pacing decisions. so you're goddamn right I'm gonna bring it up twice! joker was a creep, his plan was dumb, nolan and burton and lord/miller and even ayer had better motivations. YES I AM SAYING THAT JARED LETO'S JOKER HAD BETTER WRITING THAN MARK HAMILL'S JOKER. not nearly to the level of ledger nicholson or galifanakis but hamill didn't have a lot to work with here and I maintain that his performance was amazing; honestly I like his the best out of all of them but just... not here. but I think I can cut some slack to firelord ozai and luke skywalker even if he just phoned it in here which he didn't. writing was just weak. and that's all there is to it. don't anon me and threaten to remove my bones ok?
alright so batman and joker fought and joker got the upper hand and was gonna kill him but it was a prop gun. haha. they had a heart to heart and batman tells joker that he wants to help him get better, even after joker killed robin and molested barbara and traumatized gordon and did countless other travesties, he still said he would help. but joker said no, and told a joke that was good enough to make batman laugh. and then the credits rolled.
...
what a completely pointless and empty ending. oh it's deep and meaningful and poignant? ok sure, I guess, movie, but you didn't earn that. shyamalan did the same thing a dozen times. that doesn't make him any less of a shit writer.
I can understand the concept of batman laughing at joker's joke, humanizing him.
I get it. I see what they tried to do. I respect it.
but this movie was massively overhyped and overrated and I expected it to be so much better than it was. but overall to me it was just another batman cartoon to throw on top of the pile. maybe it was influential to graphic novels. maybe it shaped batman into what he is today. it published right as tim burton's movie and I can respect its place in the pantheon of comic history. but sometimes things that are classic...
aren't that great.
citizen kane, casablanca, the maltese falcon, the treasure of the sierra madre, gone with the wind, singing in the rain, all of them are classic and legendary pieces of art. but they're just not that good, interesting, appealing, watchable, or FUN. they were good at the time- I mean come on we all know them today- but on going back you'd have to really appreciate the finer details to still love the movies today. and this belongs there, in the vault, to be appreciated from afar. influential if dated.
but god am I still disappointed nonetheless.
TL;DR
it was just okay. had some good ideas, had some really bad ideas, had some ugly stuff. overall mediocre. first half 5/10, second half 7/10, overall 6/10.

A classic Reylo fic from an old friend - Beneath the Facade. It technically has a prologue fic before it in the series, but this piece was the one that I really enjoyed way back in the EARLY days of Reylo.
Because I'm an insufferable Reylux fan, I have to rec at least one. This piece by @every-day-is-star-wars-day  a oneshot that ever so masterfully crushes my heart every time - Thread
My one Original Trilogy rec, this is a beast of a long fic but so, so good - Dark Times
My Own Stuff
Reylux, medieval AU - La Vita Primus - is the first in a small series of this AU
Reylo, TROS Fix-It - Oh but it's a dark future, my star. Oh but it's a soft morning for us soon.

Where do I fit into the SW fandom?
I’m mainly into the Sequels and the Mandalorian. I joined the server for Hux/Kylo/Rey and all the combinations of the characters in my ot3. I can edit better than I can write. Sometimes I comment on fics.
My Top Faves
A Dance of Titans by @lucidlucy is a really long reylux fic. The delicious slowburn makes all the flavors combine in an amazing way. Love how they battle the main villain!
My Own Stuff
I helped give feedback on the second part of a series. Does that count? This is knight_of_dance's fic. It's really cool to see writers' takes on Modern AU, and this one has influenced my ideas of what sort of kinks those characters have. :smirk: Switch Up

Arsanimo - Marion
Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Arsanimo, self taught artist and nerd from Germany that’s mostly lurking. You can find me with this username on tumblr, twitter and instagram. I draw mostly Reylo at the moment. ( @arsanimo, Arsanimo (Twitter), Arsanimo (IG))
Where do I fit into the SW fandom?
I‘m in my thirties and an OT fan since birth, because my dad was obsessed with Star Wars and we watched it a lot as kids - they are the go to christmas movies in our family. Even as a very small kid I loved Vader. I didn’t like the ST quite as much when it came out in cinemas but still watched them multiple times. I’m much more fond of them now. But my love for Star Wars really got renewed with the ST. I really liked TFA and TLJ a lot. Not a great fan of TROS though, but to each their own. I recently started watching TCW, if you haven’t go watch it! The Mandalorian is also great and feels more like the OT for me, which I love. Oh, and R1 was awesome, I loved that one! Solo also was good. I think I will be a lifelong fan because it’s such a rich universe and everybody can pick a favorite. I’m also good at ignoring the parts I don’t like, lol. But I‘m mostly exhausted about all the drama on social media, so at the moment I take a bit of a break from social media and only post from time to time. And I’m of the firm believe to ship and let ship and if the art and fics are good, you can also find me enjoying ships outside of Reylo (honestly, some Kylux art out there, woah... and Finnrey is always so tender but Stormpilot has two hot guys in it... and don’t get me started about Finnrose! You probably get the gist)
My Top Faves
It’s hard to name so few, there are so many good artists out there. But Winter of Her (Twitter) has some outstanding art in her own style. Than I really like the style of Khallion (Twitter), check her out.
My Own Stuff
And last but not least two pieces of mine that turned out pretty good

Knight_Of_Cookies
Who am I?
Allo allo, I go by many names but many know me as cookies here. Lol I'm from the US and I've been a lifelong A+, gold star , nerd my whole life. I love writing among 5 million other hobbies. I am on Tumblr and A03. (@knight-of-cookies, Knight_of_Cookies (AO3))
Where do I fit into the SW fandom?
It all started with the prequels which I fell in love with and even wrote my first fan fic on. (I dragged it from fanfic.net to A03 for my own form of personal torture) I dropped out of star wars until I was in Japan and a close group of friends got me to watch Roque One and play a star wars based table top role playing game, which dumped me back into this fandom hardcore. I fell in love with the sequel trilogy and now I'm stuck forever. Lol
I have been writing on A03 for around 2 years now for star wars and it's been the most productive and progressive work I've ever done thanks to ya'll.
Also, hey, I created this multishippers discord, because multishipping rocks and everyone should do it. :P I know I've never active enough but I love this space and the people in it! My fav part about multishipping is how I'm always discovering yet another ship that is awesome. It never ends. ^^
My top favs - (of things no one should be surprised by)
Beastie by @feckyeswriting. It spawned a written series(multiple actually)
Glutton by Witchoil. Just very good dark and wonderful kinky smut. Always go back to this one.
In the house that skywalker built by @aicosu. This story got me into Reylux in a way I'll never recover from.
My own stuff
Nothing but Themselves - This is my favorite beast of a story I've ever written and it will be beautiful when I finish it. One day. Lol
Tanzaku - One of my most polished pieces thanks to the Reylo Anthology. My best combo of: insert culture nerding here and captive Ben as personal tropes.

Do you mind if I ask 11, 8 and 25?
(the post was strtd by peter n ended w me, Kris kdnkdn)
We don’t mind!
11 - first impressions of your fictives
Woah, I don’t know who to answer this- mostly because I’m like, should everyone say their thing? Since you know, everyone has different perspectives? To keep the answer short, I’ll just say my point of view! And if anyone has specific people they wanna ask, you can ask again! Actually, starting now, if you guys want someone specific to answer you can say so!
So... I won’t state everyone, because there’s a lot of people, but I‘ll do the people I’ve talked to properly!
Chara - Scary and really serious, like, they don’t have to tell me anything I could totally just leave the room if they gave me a glare. Even if they’re shorter than me, they have this like vibe that tells you that they don’t mess around
Kris - I thought he’d be quiet at first, he didn’t move a lot, but then he was suuper welcoming and dragged me into a lot of stuff- honestly he really helped me into getting used to front a lot! It felt safer when he was around, especially in my first days
Mister Crowley - he looked really business-y, but I liked him. I thought he was cool, and then he ended up being one of my dads! I thought he’d be a more angry person, but he’d rather lounge on a sofa
Miss Toriel - she’s soft! And she’s such a good mom.. she’s so supportive of everyone and just wants everyone to feel safe and happy! She really cares
MJ - I won’t lie, I was like super weirded out, excited, and worried ALL at the same time. Like, I was just is she gonna be okay here, like is it gonna be weird? And then you know, she found out I liked her this whole time and I found out too I think, and I guess we’re.. together now?
Miss Undyne - very loud, super supportive, and i was afraid that she’d just supplex me if she wanted to. She kinda yells a lot- but to support you!
Frisk - finally, someone else who gets to be called “baby”!
Mister MTT - I was honestly really nervous to meet him.. I was the first person he talked to- and that fear of when new members say “oh I’ve been here a while now!” Is real. Then I saw Frisk run over to jump all over him and he was really cool. He’s super flamboyant and when he talks in the body, he still sounds like a celebrity! He really cares though, I think that’s awesome
Miss Fluttershy - she’s kind of like the show.. uh, I won’t lie, I was a little tired after the first few days..? because she was panicking almost the whole time for two days straight and the emotional bleed was pret-ty intense so we were kind of having a panic attack non-stop for a while..? After that was over, she apologized and was really nice about it! Also ponies are tall??? I’m 5’6 or something and I forgot how much taller horses are after I saw how tall she was- and that’s a pony- geez
Miss Tempest - Uh, pretty angry.. when she and Miss Fluttershy came to the system at the same time, they apparently got a flood of memories of recent events so.. it’s like they got. A little run through of what they were getting into- so Miss Tempest got a quick summary of everything and that’s what got her mad when we first met..
8 - Songs that remind your introjects of their source?
[content warning 4 violence, harm, vent music :,^)] [ps this part took so long 2 make Idk y mksksh]
Peter - I’m not sure.. but I guess I’d have to say old-ish music (especially upbeat ones)? Maybe like.. new wave? Uh, I don’t like just new wave but they remind me of my source a lot. But sometimes they’re a weird genre. I’m not sure why I like old-ish music a bunch, but the others think it’s because of my movies’ OST? And yeah, pf I agree. They just remind me a little of Uncle Ben- he introduced to some music as a kid. And it just reminds me of my room, hanging out with friends- good vibes
Sal - Rock and Metal, for obvious reason lol. Besides Sanity’s Fall (they’re in youtube, check it out) it’s those for sure. GOD, actually the other day, we were revisiting the Halo Theme song- specifically the Mjolnir version and [chefs kiss] oof [chefs kiss] so good. It yells my source vibes. Actually I have a playlist just dedicated to rock and metal, and all my playlists are public on spotify, so if you have the skill you can definitely find them- shouldn’t be that hard
Kris - TBH IDK,,, bc I like a lot of genres,,,,, b I g (besides the DR OST) I’d say mayb contmprry soul? Or neo contemporary soul? Actlly I’m thinking of different state of mind by kid bloom bc it reminds me of my room b like in a calm way? I named my playlist on chill music aftr that DKJDKJ. Chara - (I’ll b typing these 4 thm bc they’re not rlly the best rn, a LOT reminds thm abt source/canon so I’ll just grab a handful of diff emtions JDKDJ n I wnt explain jst go nuts I g KDHDJ- Kris) Won’t Give Into Darkness by Ck9c (obv rsns), Love Like You by Rebecca Sugar, The Valley by The Oh Hellos, Back To You by Twin Forks, Dust Inside The Light by Florist, Everything’s Alrightby Laura Shigihara, Please Leave a light On When You Go by Britain Ashford, Two Slow Dancers by Mitski, Stuff Is The Way by They Might be Giants, Echo by Circrush, Brutus by The Buttress, No Culture by Mother Mother, Choke by IDKHBTFM, This is Love by ATC, If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin
Spinel - (she isn’t arnd Rn b I’ll answ 4 her n say electro swing n swing music 👀, it her fave genre b also it reminds her of source dmdb)

For what it’s worth, this is a playlist an Iranian friend recently made for me to introduce me to Persian/Iranian music - traditional and contemporary.
You know, most people there are just people, listening to popsongs about love, and not overtly keen to get bombed by anyone or go to war. In that, they are not so very different from us. They just want to live their lives in peace but have no control over their government (in fact, if you protest against the regime you can go to jail, get tortured or executed).
Maybe their music shows the essence of their society much better than all those (regime approved) images of raving radicals on TV? If you’ve followed the recent protests over the last few years, it’s clear that not all Iranians are like this.
It’s a rich, proud, amazing culture - and just fucking good music.
Enjoy (I hope the links work)!
Warning : lots of sadness in persian songs! I'm not kidding, u'll see. It's either too sad or kindergarten happy! There is no inbetween :/
Traditional legends: Maybe the most famous heartbreak song, actually more old than traditional https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox9_Tw1VbZc&feature=youtu.be I just found this one and enjoyed it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Ks7cu8UOU&feature=youtu.be Mohammadreza Shajarian is the greatest legend in traditional music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laudYtVuYHg&feature=youtu.be And this is his most popular song, like a national anthem for his fans, it's about freedom.. his son is singing with him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo9b4UN36lg&feature=youtu.be And this Homayoun Shajarian, he works a little different from his father, a little more modern lately. This one has Rumi's poem, and the music is inspired by arabain music. His singing talent is crazy but if u ask me the best part is at the end of the song when the music ends and he sings the last verse.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLlleI4XRYQ&feature=youtu.be Most famous and old love songs : Souvenir... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbWMPQ6b8qs&feature=youtu.be Googoosh is the most popular female singer in Iran i'm quite sure of it. And this one is my most fav. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWnYuCpKwu8&feature=youtu.be
So many learned guitar to sing this! They put a translation below, u could check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLJ5xqjpMgo&feature=youtu.be She's actually an actress, this is a cover of a famous love song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APSH7jy_SL8&feature=youtu.be This one must be 40 years old at least but still one of the best songs ever! My dad says it was radios #1 best song for weeks... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmhqVPXOKo4&feature=youtu.be When pop was decent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lWqZkYCYPY&feature=youtu.be Now some new ones: U already know my beloved Namjoo. I'd like to show u this concert (he is the revolution in classical art!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fahck9rJU0&feature=youtu.be
Curls appreciation in this one! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZYn2JASnis&feature=youtu.be I've been waiting to show u this one! The music video is so cool. It's a collection from many famous Iranian movies, both before and after the revolution. And it matches the lyrics so good, i'll send u the subtitled one when i found it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUi9uYUeX9I&feature=youtu.be More of Ali Azimi, there are exiled artists in the videoclip like Namjoo. I wish i could give u a better tranlation but it's better than nothing. it's a poem by Ebtehaj one of the best contemporary poets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW8Q3MRk8HU&feature=youtu.be It's obvious what is it about... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBNm4W3LRw4&feature=youtu.be Okay enough of sad songs, honestly idk what everyone love so much about it but they all dance to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJL2BmF9pVg&feature=youtu.be I like this one better, i think they're from Shiraz or somewhere south cuz u hear southern music mixed in their songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBGGXBLqVgg&feature=youtu.be The kindergarten happy i told u about! Dont laugh i dont dance until they put these songs on! The power of good old RIMBARADI-DUM RUMBARADI-DUM 💃🕺💃🕺 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-05qe1MF5Pg&feature=youtu.be It's Rumi's poem about spring. Nowrouz vibes. It's fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5bmqkX-Pfs&feature=youtu.be I like this becuz it's sooo CMBYN vibes... the language of eyes.. i'm not sure whose poem is this, maybe Hafez or Rumi.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QTYsmH_uKo&feature=youtu.be He's actually Kurdish (but he sings and speaks Farsi and this is Tehrani dialect) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Mahqn8oTk&feature=youtu.be

HAPPY 27TH BIRTHDAY DYLAN O’BRIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe he’s only a year older than Demi and his birthday is six days after hers. But like I love Dylan so fricken much, he’s my number one favorite male actor. I know that like I’ve only been obsessed with him since March and don’t know everything about him or have watched all his interviews or movies but he’s just that amazing pf a guy to fall in love with. Honestly I love him so fricken much, he’s one of the fluffiest, purest, kindest, most adorable human beings out there. He is such a humble human being, I love watching videos of him with fans and he’s just so down to earth in interviews. I hope that one day I could meet him because he just seems so open and caring and inviting. He has such a pure soul and a heart of gold, he is beautiful inside and out. It seems like a crime to have never watched his YouTube videos so in honor of his birthday I’m going to do that today. I tried watching The Internship yesterday but the website I used wasn’t working and I couldn’t find it on YouTube so I couldn’t watch it. I still also need to see High Road even though I don’t know anything about it and Deepwater Horizon even though I’m not sure he has a big part but still. I’ve seen The First Time and American Assassin twice and watched all three Maze Runner movies in three weeks. I literally read the booms just so I could watch the movies for him. And obviously there’s Teen Wolf, Mieczslaw “Stiles” Stilinski. Dylan is one of THE BEST actors out there, like the emotion in his acting is incredible. It’s like I can feel his pain when Stiles wakes up from his nightmares or when Thomas watches Chuck die. In season five when whats his face clamps his hand down on Stiles and he screams it sounds so horrifyingly heartbreaking. Yet Dylan is such a bright person, he’s so funny and can always manage to make me smile. I’ve laughed so many times at him and I doubt I’ll ever stop. I know Dylan doesn’t have an Insta and even though I’m posting this on Twitter too I doubt he’ll see this because he has so many fans, but I couldn’t resist posting about this honorable young man. I love him with my entire heart and soul like so many https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm8nyBunH3r/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rgcqwqv52k3v

Ranking all 15 Pink Floyd studio albums, from worst to best.
Those that know me well know Pink Floyd is my all time favorite band. I grew up listening to classic rock, thanks to my parents. My childhood band was Van Halen, and my mother pretty much bought me the entire Van Halen collection, both Roth and Hagar eras. I then went through phases when I was around 12 years old, and I began to listen to a lot Metallica more. And at 15, I began to listen a lot of of more of 80s New Wave, particularly A Flock of Seagulls, which most people in my personal life always picked on me for it, asking “How the hell did you go from Metallica to A Flock of Seagulls?” I’ve always heard Pink Floyd songs, but because my parents were huge fans, that meant I wasn’t a huge fan. I grew up that way: whatever your parents don’t like you don’t like.
But of course, you find your identity while growing up, naturally liking art that you actually once hated because of your influence. I didn’t really listened to Pink Floyd until I was around 17ish, liking the songs from the Whale (a radio station based in Binghamton, NY) that played classic rock songs. It was here that I’ve heard songs like “Run Like Hell,” “Mother,” “Time,” “Comfortably Numb,” “Learning to Fly,” and the more obscured, underrated PF track “One Slip.” It wasn’t until I was 18 (I was still in high school) when I got home from school that my mother had bought The Wall for me, a more surprised gift. From then, I was really hooked from Pink Floyd, asking my mother to get me The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Division Bell, all on that order. By that time I got The Division Bell, I knew Pink Floyd was becoming my new favorite band. Though I explored bands like Led Zeppelin and The Church and Rush afterwards, Pink Floyd, to this very day, 11 years later, are still my favorite.
They opened the sub rock genre Progressive Rock for me. I explored bands like Yes, Rush and Genesis, despite I’ve heard their songs on the radio and seen some of their videos on VH1 Classic, but never bothered to dig into their catalogue till a few years later after listening to Pink Floyd.
I’ve listened to all their 15 studio albums, and this list is about the albums that I keep going back to. Please keep in mind this is my personal taste. There is no right or wrong answers to ranking albums. It’s all about opinions and what you like in the end. I know I might piss off other PF fans with my ranking, but, guys, we all have our favorites, don’t we? Every PF fan has their own album rankings, of course. Here is mine.
15. Ummagumma, 1969. Ummagumma is perhaps Pink Floyd’s most experimental album, and one I truly distaste. It’s a double album, with the first disc is a set of live tracks (which, honestly, I barely listen to because of the sound quality) while the second disc is the actual studio album. PF was lost without Syd Barrett, the true original founder of the band. Each band member then produced their own songs without the influence from the other members. What we get is a mess, and some songs are either boring to listen to or just God awful. Most of it is instrumental, but the ones I like are Roger Water’s “Grantchester Meadows” and David Gilmour’s “The Narrow Way, Pt.3,” which happened to be the only two songs on the entire album that have lyrics. Roger’s other track, “Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict” is a bizarre tune that is only done by sound effects by Water’s voice, making chipmunk like noises, and tapping on the microphone at various speeds, with Roger speaking in an exaggerated Scottish burr near the end of the song. The tune is more amusing because it’s rather a funny track to listen to, while Richard Wright’s tracks “Sysyphus (parts 1--4)” and Nick Mason’s “ The Grand Vizier's Garden Party (parts 1--3)” aren’t a joy, just a mess of sounds that I find skipping over and never listen to.
14. A Saucerful of Secrets, 1968. Pink Floyd’s second album, one that introduced David Gilmour after Syd Barrett was beginning to take too much LSD and became very unpredictable. What we get with this second album are lost musicians without a leader, and the sound often jumps around, from forgettable piano driven tracks to the more washed out, space like organ sounds that really isn’t a joy to listen to, to a very bizarre track full of jazz instruments that Syd Barrett sings his only track at the very end of the album. Roger’s track “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” (this song is the only one that has all five members playing, according to Gilmour) and “Corporal Clegg” are the two standouts for me, with the latter hinting of what’s to come with Roger’s anti war lyrics, and Gilmour’s choppy, wah guitar effects hints of what’s to come.
13. More, 1969. Yes, Pink Floyd’s 1968 and ‘69 albums don’t really do anything for me. More is a soundtrack to the French film of the same title. However, More hints of a more calibrated work of the group, and despite that some tracks are more over the place than others, what we get with More is a much more standard album than a band trying to experiment. Songs like “The Nile Song” and “Ibiza Bar” are two heavy hitting PF songs while “The Crying Song” and “Green is the Colour” are softer ballads. Perhaps the best known track from this album is “Cymbaline.” “More Blues” and “Dramatic Theme” just scratch the surface of Gilmour’s incredible, Blues inspired guitar playing style. The album can do without the seven minute track “Quicksilver,” which is nothing but Rick Wright coming up with eerie organ soundscapes that are rather boring than they are affective.
12. The Final Cut, 1983. The post Wall album, The Final Cut sees Roger Waters in complete control, who has become a very egocentric, over baring bastard that this album was PF’s most difficult album to record. Roger has kicked Rick Wright out, since he felt Rick wasn’t contributing anything to the band. What we get with The Final Cut is the only PF album without Richard Wright, and a mess of an album that is trying to find its identity after the success of The Wall. In fact, most of these tracks were based of cut out tracks from the previous album, with David Gilmour arguing Roger that these songs weren’t any good at the time, why should they be good now. Gilmour himself only sung one track, the epic, hard hitting “Not Now John” that has the most f-bombs in any PF song, though Roger does take over in certain spots here and there. For me, the best songs on this album are “Your Possible Pasts,” “The Final Cut,” “Not Now John,” and the album closer “Two Suns in the Sunset” (this song was difficult for Nick for its odd timing, and Roger brought in a session drummer to fill in the spot) while the other tracks don’t do anything for me. Roger felt this was the last PF album, but I honestly glad it wasn’t.
11. The Endless River, 2014. For twenty years, The Division Bell was truly the last PF studio album. However, David and Nick went through their secret vault of recorded but unleashed tracks from The Division Bell. Their focused was to bring Richard Wright’s playing more in the forefront, wanting their audience to hear how important his sound was for the band. David and Nick rerecorded and modernized some parts on these songs, including David adding more guitar and lyrics to their farewell, goodbye song “Louder Than Words,” which I honestly still feel it’s a very underrated track. 99% of this album is instrumental. Majority of this album makes up from one plus minute tracks, which seem more filler than anything. Nevertheless, another song that shines is “It’s What We Do,” which is the most “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” inspired track PF has done in years, and one that brings Wright’s sound to the forefront as Gilmour and Mason intended.
10. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, 1967. Pink Floyd’s first album, and the one that only has Syd Barrett as a lead singer and without David Gilmour. This album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles was recording Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band next door, which Pink Floyd visited, and the two bands influenced each other. Syd Barrett was a much more character driven lyricist, and his songs were more based of fairy tales, hence the title of the album. The album itself is a bit unbalanced, as the later half becomes a folky, acoustic guitar driven album as the first half was a psychedelic rock trip. Most of the songs here was sung by Barrett, while Wright provides some second lead vocals in certain songs. This album showcases that the band is indeed experimenting, playing walls of sounds, but a bit more focused compared to their three follow ups. My favorite tracks are “Astronomy Domine,” “Lucifer Sam,” “Matlida Mother,” “Pow R. Toc H.,” and “Chapter 24.”
9. Atom Heart Mother, 1970. It is here, in this spot, where it’s difficult for me to rank, as these albums are my personal favorites from the Floyd. However, I feel this album is right for it’s spot, since I find myself drawn to the other top 8 more in the recent years. I still believe this album is underrated and underappreciated. Even the band themselves have stated that they hate this album. Atom Heart Mother’s concept is soundtrack to a film that doesn’t exist. The epic, 23 minute title track sounds exactly like a movie, with full on brass sections and choirs that were composed by Ron Geesin. “If” is a Roger Waters’ ballad with a beautifully haunting slide guitar from Gilmour and slowly becomes a rock driven tune near the end. Richard Wright takes turns to lead in “Summer ‘68,” which is about a one night stand Rick had with a groupie, perhaps haunted by the very act he’s done. The song starts with a piano ballad structure that goes on full horn and funky acoustic chops by Gilmour. Gilmour than leads “Fat Old Sun,” which every instrument was done by Gilmour, including the drums. It’s another acoustic ballad that slowly becomes a rock oriented track, with Gilmour reflecting on summer. The album ends with “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast,” which the whole concept centers around Pink Floyd’s roadie, Alan Styles, making breakfast. The middle song of this three part based track, in itself calls “Sunny Side Up,” is my personal favorite part of the entire song, with David overdubbing two beautiful acoustic guitars as well as a another haunting slide guitar work. The whole song was inspired by water dripping out of a faucet.
8. Obscured By Clouds, 1972. Another soundtrack for a film, Obscured By Clouds is the often forgotten, underrated album that is stuck between ‘71′s Meddle and the most successful PF album, The Dark Side of the Moon. By Meddle, Pink Floyd has found its sound after the downfall of Syd Barrett. Obscured By Clouds showcases Gilmour’s guitar in the forefront. Both Gilmour and Waters become the two leads for the band, though Rick Wright does offer the wah driven, piano balled, “Stay.” “Burning Bridges” is sung by both Gilmour and Wright, who duet in “Echoes” on their previous album but now take turns for the lead, hinting the song “Time” on DSOFTM. “The Gold It’s in the...” is one of the very few PF tracks that doesn’t have Rick Wright playing, as it is a funk, harder driven track sung by Roger. Gilmour offers “Childhood’s End,” which is loosely based off a 1953 science fiction novel of the same name by Arthur C. Clarke. “Free Four” is a “Spirt in the Sky” inspired track with dark undertones. Part of it is an antiwar song, where Roger sings about the death of his father for the first time, an reoccurring theme that will play out in future albums like The Wall and The Final Cut. “Mudmen” is an instrumental track that is very similar to “Burning Bridges,” but here David provides some haunting guitar riffs and slide effects. The album closes with “Absolutely Curtains,” which Roger provides an incoherent shout as the song slowly builds and fades into one of Wright’s most beautiful organ textured sounds.
7. A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 1987. Some fans will put this as their worst PF album, but it’s honestly one of my absolutely favorites. It was originally going to be David’s third solo album, but with the disappointed sales of his first two, EMI wanted to be a Pink Floyd album. Most of the tracks were pre recorded by the time Gilmour called Mason in. It marks the return of Richard Wright, who Gilmour had to fight for because of the contract that Roger had written he shouldn’t return in the band. Gilmour was also battling Roger Waters, who was fighting to have the name Pink Floyd remove, thinking the band was done for good. Obviously, Roger had lost, and David had the right to use Richard as a “guest” musician and kept the Pink Floyd name. Like I’ve said, most of these songs were already developed. Nick and Richard provide their sounds in rerecordings. David has had admitted he isn’t a lyricist, and though he might not be as good as Waters, he nevertheless provided a couple of radio classics, such as “Learning to Fly” and “On the Turning Away.” “Dogs of War” and “One Slip” are underrated gems, and “Sorrow” became a live favorite for Gilmour’s heavy fuzz guitar riffs in the beginning of the track. While I do agree the overall sound is a bit outdated and heavily influenced by the current 80s music, AMLOR is nevertheless an album, for me at least, that showcases that Gilmour kept the band going full speed ahead.
6. The Division Bell, 1994. Originally titled as “The Big Spliff,” which was thought to be a near full instrumental double album, Gilmour, Mason and Wright find themselves doing old school ways of how they used to do songs back in the early 70s: by working together. Though other musicians did help the Floyd, the three find themselves coming up riffs that they soon realized it was just too good to be just instrumentals. Polly Samson, a novelist who would become David Gilmour’s wife, provides a lot of lyrics for the album. What we get with The Division bell instead is a reflection of looking back. Not only lyrically but musically, as the Division Bell is full of sounds that PF has done in the past. “Marooned” is a Bluesy guitar driven track that haunts after a listen. “A Great Day of Freedom” is indeed about the collapse of the Berlin Wall, however, one can view that it’s also about David moving on from Roger, suggesting the opening line “On the day the wall came down” may be David singing he feels free from Roger’s toxin influence. “What Do You Want From Me” is the heaviest, Blues inspired track on the album that is about no matter how hard you try to please a certain person, you really can’t, and you have to wonder if Polly wrote this for David on his history with Roger. “Poles Apart” is a beautifully written, DADGAD ballad with slide guitar and a killer solo at the end. Though the song may have a carnival like music in the middle that may drag the song, it’s still nevertheless a brilliant, underrated track. “Take It Back,” “Coming Back to Life” and “Keep Talking” are perhaps the three highlights, back to back, while “Lost For Words” is a “Wish You Were Here” inspired ballad that reflects  past relationships. Of course, the album epic closer “High Hopes” is really about looking into the past and try moving forward, without the consequences of your past haunting you in the near future. Till this day, I still feel this album is underappreciated, as for twenty years it was PF’s last studio effort.
5. The Wall, 1979. My first Pink Floyd album, and one that really got me into the band. To be honest, I have a love and hate relationship with The Wall. It’s a classic album, nonetheless, but I cannot help but feel that without the key classic tracks, The Wall is actually a poor album with a lot of filler. Of course, with classic songs like “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt.2″ “In the Flesh?,” “Mother” “Goodbye Blue Sky,” “Young Lust,” “Hey You,” “Comfortably Numb,” “Run Like Hell” and “Waiting for the Worms” really save this album for me, as I tend to think most of these tracks are filler, practically the under two minute tracks. Nevertheless, I did grow into liking a couple of songs. “The Show Must Go On” is a very underrated track that should have been longer than it is. “The Trial” was a difficult track to listen to for the first time, but over the years I grow to like, somewhat. The Wall isn’t a bad album, but I do agree that the first half is stronger than the second half. Now knowing it tells a story (rather a strange one), it tells the story of Roger Water’s father’s death in WWII, and how the main character, Pink Floyd, becomes a drug addict whose behavior becomes unpredictable, which was based off seeing Syd Barrett’s downfall. The album is full of history, one that is inspired of Roger spitting on a fan after the fan threw beer on him. Roger than wanted to isolate the band from the audience, and the idea of The Wall was born. However, Richard Wright didn’t like the idea of having a wall being built between the band and the audience, Roger grew hatred for Wright, accusing him not to come up with any material, eventually firing him from the band. The Wall is indeed a classic, though I do find certain tracks bring it down while the radio classics really help the Floyd to be one of the biggest bands they are today.
4. The Dark Side of the Moon, 1973. The most well known and successful Pink Floyd album. Dark Side of the Moon was influenced when the band finally found their sound from 1971′s success, Meddle, particularly the 23 minute track “Echoes.” The band then wanted to further explore, with Roger coming up the band’s fully first concept album. The concept itself is about life, with the album starting out with Nick Mason mimicking a heartbeat with the bass drum. “Breathe (In the Air)” is a brief track about existence, while the heavily synth driven “On the Run” deals with fear, often about a man running away from an airplane. “Time” reflects how live itself is short, and you should use your limited time on Earth wisely. “The Great Gig in the Sky” is about death, as Clare Torry sings her finest, wordless roar as a grieving woman. “Money” is about greed and how corporations and governments are always thirsty for money while those that work hard are often struggling to make end’s meet. “Us and Them,” one of my all time favorite Floyd tracks, is another antiwar song that is sung by David in a haunting and beautiful delay effect that makes his voice echo. “Any Colour You Like” is another instrumental that is about existence while Roger takes turns to lead in the closing tracks, “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse,” with the former song about Barrett’s descent into madness and the latter about everything you see, touch, taste, smell, and feel is what you make of life and what life has to offer. This album is a classic, yet I still feel, like The Wall, a bit overrated in PF’s amazing catalogue.
3. Wish You Were Here, 1975. With the success of The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd found themselves overwhelmed to come up with a follow up. Originally titled as “Household Objects,”  Roger Waters thought it’d a be a good idea to find household objects to make music noises with. However, the idea soon became too time consuming, and Pink Floyd find themselves back at square one. It was the idea of Gilmour’s now famous guitar riff that spark. Roger recorded Gilmour in a giant empty studio, with Gilmour playing the well known riff in what soon became the classic “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.” It became apparent that, because of the success of DSOTM, Pink Floyd should pay tribute to their original founder, Syd Barrett. Roger also reflected lyrics on the music business as a whole, how their company is forcing them to come up with a successful follow up. “Welcome to the Machine” and “Have A Cigar” reflect on those themes. “Shine You Crazy Diamond” is a tribute to Syd, who, one day, came in the studio, overweight, his hair and eyebrows completely shaven off, and barely unrecognizable. It was David who then saw this stranger was indeed Syd Barrett, and the man quickly left soon afterward, shocking the band. Wish You Were Here met some criticism when it was released, stating that the band didn’t find any new ground. However, it soon gain an occult following. David has stated this is his personal favorite PF album.
2. Animals, 1977. Another concept album. By this time, it became apparent that Roger was the leading lyricist, and this album shows that Roger was beginning to take over the sound of PF as well, as he leads most of the songs instead of David. Roger saw the punk rock movement, their hatred in Progressive Rock sound, and knew the band should get heavier and grittier. He took this idea and based it off the George Orwell’s classic novel Animal Farm, giving certain types individuals and classes animalistic metaphors. We got the backstabbing businessmen as “Dogs,” a seventeen minute track which Gilmour receives the only other song writer in a Roger Waters driven album. Gilmour in fact sings the first half of the song, providing his only sung lyrics of the entire album. “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” is about the rich men and their greed, an eleven minute Bluesy track with Wright’s eerie keyboard tunes and Gilmour’s haunting guitar-scape sounds, as well as cattle bells from Mason. The most heaviest is the ten minute epic “Sheep,” about the followers who don’t want to lead, how they are mocked by the dogs. Here, Roger gives it all in his delivery while Gilmour provides funk like, edgy guitar chops that explode in the end. The album begins and end with the two parts “Pigs on the Wing,” which Roger strums an acoustic guitar and talking to listeners that we know that both we and him should care about each other, waiting for influencers to arrive, the pigs on the wing. Besides The Wall, Animals is perhaps Pink Floyd at their most “street” sounding album. It is a gritty album compared to the DSOTM and WYWH, hinting of what’s to come. Yet I am more drawn to this album because it is one of the very few PF albums that doesn’t sound like any other Floyd album. Despite I choose Gilmour over Waters, it is in Waters emotions and delivery that are highlights for me for this album, as well as the darker, grittier sound PF has ever put out.
1. Meddle, 1971. Because of their hatred of the previous albums, Pink Floyd find themselves to look for influences around them. What we got is Pink Floyd’s most folky album they ever put out. Meddle is my personal favorite Floyd album for that very reason, yet there are some harder rock stuff in songs like the opening “One of These Days” and in certain sections of “Echoes.” “A Pillow of Winds” is my all time personal favorite Floyd track. A slow acoustic ballad with slide guitar and beautifully textured organ sounds, there’s something about this song that strike it as my all time favorite from the Floyd. It’s a beautiful and a bit eerie track, which is a rare love song for the Floyd. “Fearless” is another great obscured track that is much more folk rock driven with Gilmour’s delivery on guitar riffs near the end that is a highlight for me. “San Tropez” is a Roger Waters driven track that sounds perfect in a California setting. It has that surf vibe for sure. “One of These Days” is one of the best instrumentals the Floyd has put out, with double basses done by both Gilmour and Waters, with Gilmour then kicking it overdrive with the lap steel. “Echoes” is an epic twenty three minute track that put Floyd on the map. An eerie yet beautiful track, “Echoes” is the song that the Floyd found their sound in, and got inspired by, and the rest is history.  “Echoes” provides some funky moments, as well as some hard rock, and an some ambient soundscapes. The real highlight for me is when, within the 18:14 mark, is Gilmour’s most beautifully haunted arpeggio riff. I love it every time it kicks in. While Meddle was the album in which the Floyd found their sound, it is my personal favorite Floyd album, one I still think it’s very underrated in their entire catalogue.

Smiley (Raven x Reader)
Request: Hi I'd like to request a Raven imagine please. The reader trying to become friends with her always acting in a funny way to cheer her up. Later on Raven witnessing that it's just a front the reader puts on in order to not worry the Titans. Fluff please? :)
My First Request, I hope I did what you wanted!
Tumblr media
"Here's the plan, Beast Boy and Cyborg go in first as a distraction, Starfire provide aerial. Raven and Smiley you two need to sneak in around back with me. I am going to disable the gun, but I will need you two to deflect the shots while I'm doing it." Robin said his voice thick with authority  even in the dire situation you couldn't help but grin at Robin's nickname for you, Smiley. It fit.
Everyone nodded at once, the plan was solid, as were all of Robin's plans. A series of movie parts that worked together in harmony. In other words, the Teen Titans. Beast Boy and Cyborg glanced at each other in a silent competition before the green skinned boy shifted into an elephant and began to charge, Cyborg not far behind yelling at battle cry. Starfire noticed the noise and quickly joined in, taking off into flight, her fists glowing green with starbolts. The remainder of your team did not stay to watch the mayhem, but you did take a moment to roll your eyes at your teammates recklessness. This was your life, your team, your family. You wouldn't have it any other way, expect for the ice cold fear that would trickle down your spine before a fight. You were different from the others, you didn't rush into battle whole heartedly like Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Star. Neither did you approach it in a calm calculated manor like Robin and Raven. Instead you froze before a fight steeling yourself for what was to come. But  you fought with your family, because they needed you. They needed you in battle just as much as they need you at home. You are the glue which holds the Titans together and honestly it was exhausting. Being at home was easy, partly because of your abilities, you are an empath, able to feel the emotions of others. You were always there when someone felt down in the tower, and you could feel them lighten with happiness. For Starfire, the mall is the best place to go, you take her shopping and teach her of Earth Culture. She loves to feel apart of your world, but sometimes she misses her home, and the two pf you spend hours talking of her planet. Or with Beast Boy who is as easy to cheer up as a puppy, simply making him a smiley face pancake satisfies. With Cyborg it is a little harder to cheer up, but you have found the football and a long rant session is the best remedy. For Robin you spar, let him take out all of his pent up rage on you before he is ready to talk. Raven is the hardest, she is so guarded, that you simply give her a cup of warm tea and sit near her, not prying, bur showing she's not alone. But every gift has a curse, your manifests itself while in a fight you can feel your enemies anguish, and it hurts more than any physical blow. Sometimes you want to fall down and cry in the middle of a battle, but know it would only risk those you love. Raven and you flanked the giant gun as Robin started to disable it. The battle was especially hard because everyone was an innocent under mind control. When they awoke there fear and confusion flooded trough you in hard waves. "How we looking?" Robin yelled to the two of you as a mind controlled zombie flew to the ground next to him. "Really good. We look like we aren't even trying. Or like we are and it's just effortless." You answered with your trade mark smile. You could hear soft laughter over comms and knew you did your job. The fight went smoothly, because it always did with Robin as the leader. Your powers acted up only a few times. You were so relieved when the last mind controlled citizens dropped to the ground you almost started to sing. Beast Boy ran up to you, post-fight exhilaration in his eyes and his smile. "We won!" The green skinned boy whooped. You too let out a whoop in happiness at the news. You were ready to get back home. "Who volunteers to carry the most beautiful dashing girl all the way home?" You asked in a joking tone. Only you and Robin were unable to fly so the rest of the team had to take turns carrying the two of you. "I'll do it." Raven sighed, finally pulling back her deep purple hood, letting her hair fall free. "Oh silly," you started in a sickly sweet tone, "you can't carry yourself home." Raven didn't seem affected by your words, but you could feel the barest flutter of warmth in her emotions. The happiness you gave Raven made you smile. Raven held out her arms for you, waiting for you to crawl into her in an embrace. You loved it when Raven flew you around, because she would hug you close, and her sent of old books and vanilla candle overwhelmed you senses in the best way possible. Raven mumbled her incantation into your hair, and suddenly you were surrounded by an inky black orb. You closed you eyes, not that it had much effect, as the outside seemed just as dark as your mind in the moment. The Tower was silent, when the two of you arrived. It probably meant the others went out for pizza, and you couldn't be happier in that moment. You needed some time alone. "I'm going to take a nap." You explained to Raven, awkwardly pointing behind you towards your room. You could still feel the hurt confusion of the brain washed victims with through your powers and you needed a good cry. Your hand shook and there was a slight tremble in your voice. You hoped Raven didn't notice. She did, of course she did. Raven grabbed you arm gently before you could make a break for it. Violet eyes bore into your own, "Y/N are you alright?" Her caring tone is what got to you, and you let the tears fall, "I was never supposed to be a warrior. I can't keep doing this. Feeling the villain's pain and fighting anyway. It hurts so much." "What?" Raven asked not understanding your outburst, but you didn't stop. "I am nothing like the rest of you. You are all so strong and good at fighting, and I'm worried one day I am going to end up hurting you all. I am just a human girl who can feel emotions, I am not enhanced with machines or and alien or even trained by one of the most powerful men in the world. I am just me. I am just so tired." You finished. Tears streaming down your cheeks you couldn't even see Raven who still held you arm. Raven didn't say anything for a minute, just pulled you into a tight hug. You sighed into the embrace feeling a bit better. "You know, you don't need to fight to be a part of our team, our family." Raven said, her voice soft in your hair. You sniffed, tears still in your eyes, "I want to help." "And you do help. Every day. Honestly I don't think we would function without you." Raven kissed the top of you head before leading you to your bed. She tucked you in gently, brushing the hair out of your face as you lay silent, "sleep for now. We will talk about it later." It wasn't what you were expecting, but it was a start.

"The Chef Prince" Netflix & Hulu Will Stream Prince Fielders New Cooking Show Titled "Fielders Choice" Q&A 2222222
Prince Fielder is surprisingly upbeat just six months after medical issues brought his baseball career to an abrupt and tearful end. He spends a lot of time shuttling his sons, Jadyn, 12, and Haven, 10, back and forth to baseball and basketball games and practices, and he's diving into a new field with a cooking-and-interview show called "Fielder's Choice,'' which he'll co-host with his wife. It's a stark contrast from the last time we saw Fielder, when he appeared at a news conference in Arlington, Texas -- wearing a neck brace -- and cried when announcing his retirement at age 32. He was 12 days removed from a second spinal-fusion surgery, and doctors told him he was physically incapable of playing any longer. "It kind of sucks because it feels like it was taken away from me a little too early,'' Fielder told reporters in the room at the time. But Fielder has learned there is indeed life after the game. He shared his thoughts on baseball, retirement and his fondness for food shows in a conversation with ESPN.com. What's a typical day in the life of Prince Fielder now? Prince Fielder: I'm just living a normal life -- a regular life, as people would call it. I'm enjoying it. I'm still working out. It keeps me feeling good about things. I get to kind of pretend I'm going to play baseball. I get to work out and do all the stuff that was part of baseball. I just don't get to play. And you have a new venture coming out soon? PF: I have a food show that's going to be streaming on Netflix and Hulu. It's coming out around the beginning of spring training in March, I believe. It's not just baseball people. It's a mixture of baseball people, actors, musicians, chefs and whatnot. They bring out different dishes, and at the end of the show, I give the one I like the most the "Fielder's choice." It's good TV. How did that come about? PF: A friend of mine asked me a question at the end of 2015. We were going over my finances and setting things up for the future when she said, "What do you want to do when you retire?" I said, "I always wanted to do a food show." I thought it might be a cool thing to do when I retired a few years later. Then retirement came slightly prematurely. Who are some of the guests you're having on the show? PF: Chazz Palminteri, the actor. Jose Feliciano, the guy who sang, "Feliz Navidad." Xzibit (the rapper). CC Sabathia. I can't reveal the other names yet, but there are a couple more cool ones coming up. Do you have any favorite food shows? PF: I like all of them. One of my favorites is on Vice -- Action Bronson in "F---, That's Delicious." That's the name of the show. When I was playing, my wife and kids would go on the road with me, and we would go to different lunch spots that we saw on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." She would look something up on the internet and find the best restaurants and these little sandwich and taco spots, and we would go there. When you reflect on the day in August when you announced your retirement, how difficult was that for you? PF: It was pretty hard to actually have to say the words with my teammates, my wife and my boys there. I realized it was going to happen before that day, but to have to announce it and talk about in front of a lot of people was tougher than I expected. I'm glad that feeling has kind of gone away. That sadness hasn't lingered. Did anyone help you through the withdrawal of not playing ball? PF: Not really. Everybody else was busy playing, so I didn't have many people to talk to like that. My main goal now is waking up healthy every day and going on with life. There are maybe one or two hours a day when I think I can play, but I get over that real quick once I realize the risk and my wife tells me, "Just take a seat." Have you traveled at all? PF: We took a family trip to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia over Christmas and New Year's. Three weeks was a long time, but it was cool, man. We were on the ocean, so that was kind of intense. After a couple of days you realize how far out you are. Do the doctors say there's a risk you could reinjure your neck? How limited are you? PF: I definitely don't want to run any 5K races anytime soon. I can work out pretty hard as far as intensity. But as far as playing basketball or anything high impact, it's probably not smart for me to do. I stick to safe, controlled movement. If it's not safe, I just won't do it. I have nothing left to prove. I've already done enough to my neck. You played 162 games a year four times and missed only 13 games over eight seasons. How much of a toll did that take on your body? PF: Obviously, I think this caused my early retirement, but I couldn't do it any other way. Just for the record, I never asked for any of the days off in my career. I fought every one of them. I guess you need days off, but I just didn't want them. A lot of people probably say I'm stupid, and they're probably right, because there are people who take days off who are still in the league, and I'm not. But it's easier for me to accept that I can't play anymore because I literally gave it all I got. That allows me to be a little bit more at peace. Now that you've retired, are you planning to do any work for the Rangers? PF: I'd like to help out in any way I can, especially with the younger guys in the minor leagues. But as far as setting something up, we haven't really talked about it. Honestly, right now, I don't want to be around baseball. Not that I don't like it. But I'm having fun right here, hanging around my family and watching my kids' games. You appeared in only 89 games last year because of injury. What was that like? PF: There was a lot to deal with. Obviously I wasn't playing well at the time. But as a player, you lie to yourself. You say, "There's nothing wrong. I'm just not on time [at the plate]." You make something else up because pain is not an option. Once I started getting multiple days off in a row, it was a long year for me. That had never happened, and everybody knew I didn't like it. After last year, it's nice to finally be able to wake up and tie my shoes without feeling like I'm about to tip over, or walk a straight line without feeling dizzy, or be able to feel my left arm. That means a lot more to me. I'm not really in a hurry to ever wear a neck brace. That's why I'm kind of positive about it, because I'm healthy. Do you ever feel as if you were robbed of something? PF: No. To me it's kind of an awesome movie. It's kind of glorious to say, "Oh man, this guy had his career cut short." I'm not calling myself Sandy Koufax by any means. I'm not in that caliber at all, but sometimes it has to end different. You don't need to have a perfect ending to be happy. Write that down. You've had your ups and downs with your father, Cecil. When did you realize that you both finished your careers with 319 home runs? PF: I saw that after I retired. It was just weird. With all the games we played, neither one of us could hit one more home run? Obviously, it was supposed to go that way. It's a pretty cool thing, I guess. What do you miss most this time of year? PF: I miss the guys, and I miss playing baseball. Just being able to swing the bat, or run, or dive for a ball, or slide into second. If I could even do that in a softball league, I would never miss anything about baseball. I don't miss the crowds or the travel or even being in the big leagues. I just miss being able to take batting practice and being able to swing as hard as I can. That's all I miss. How would you like people to remember you as a player? That I was a guy who came to work every day. I was there. When my manager got to the field at 12, I felt like there was no reason for him to ever wonder if I was playing. For me, that's a big deal. I teach that to my kids. I've always said, "You make a lot of money in Major League Baseball, and it's all guaranteed, so what do you have to lose by going all out?" I got hurt and lost my career. But that's why they do it -- so you can give all you've got. By Jerry Crasnick 22222222222
