"Nellie Yukimura, a.k.a. Verne. Leader of the Hamamatsu Division rap battle team, Trickstar.
"I first met Yukimura-san after I successfully defended his father from being falsely accused of fraud and plagiarism by another aspiring author, who claimed that Yukimura's father had stolen some of his work. The trial didn't take long to end, and Yukimura's father was found 'not guilty'. Both the father and son thanked me for representing them in court.
"Later, I found out that Yukimura's father had been killed by a strange group known as, "The Theater." Since then, he and I have been working to uncover the truth behind this mystery group and have them punished for their crimes. It's a work-in-progress, but with each new day, I feel as if we are getting closer and closer to the truth.
"Aside from that, Yukimura-san is a very knowledgeable person. We don't take much outside of work, but during our investigation, I have repeatedly been impressed with his knowledge and wisdom. A shame he's not a lawyer. Someone with his mind would be a great prosecutor."

"Judging by his last name, this young man must be the younger sibling of Aoba-san from Kumamoto. Despite his looks, his name has come across one of my reports. In fact, during a raid on a certain club in Tokyo, I could have sworn a caught a glimpse of him, or someone who looked like him, at any rate. If you want to know the reason behind the raid, suffice to say, the place was being used as a hotspot for the sale of illegal drugs. I don't know if this man was involved in that, but regardless, he is now under my surveillance."

"...I'll say this right now: I do not like, nor trust Kaede-san. Although I am assisting him in finding out the truth behind his family's massacre, much like Yukimura-san, I only do so because I refuse to let any known criminals work around free. If not for that, I'd want nothing at all to do with this young man. Why? Because he is the partner of Jyuto Iruma, the man I've sworn to eventually arrest and prosecute for his crimes. I don't know if this young man is involved with Jyuto's crimes, or if he is just someone Jyuto is using, at the moment. But I promise you, if I find out that he is up to something devious, I will not hesitate to throw him in a jail cell."

But as a lawyer and prosecutor, my job is to find, arrest and convict all criminals, regardless of my personal feelings on my clients. But like I said to Kaede-san, if I find out that you are working with Jyuto, you will not get away with it."

Reading your meta about Gregory and his actions in Inherited Turnabout makes me want to hear more of your thoughts on that. He's presented in AAI2 as a shining paragon of justice, and he's genuinely livid at Von Karma for resorting to torture and forgery to get the verdict he wants. And my own impression is that what made Gregory such a great lawyer was the simple fact that he gave a shit about his clients and their loved ones; he got genuinely teary-eyed listening to the story of how Jeff adopted Kate, and he fought like hell for an entire year because he refused to let their lives be ruined for the sake of Von Karma's ego. Even if he did resort to arguably dirty tactics, it came from a place of caring about others, while Manfred and Blaise only cared about themselves. If they went low, he'd kick them in the face.
(Actually, typing that reminded me of Phoenix's monologue at the end of BttT; "What makes us human is that we fight for others.")
Pretty much! The key part here that we have to remember is that literally none of this is legal IRL. MvK could not have interrogated Jeff like that, whatsoever. There are three ways, legally, that it could have ever happened:
the police interrogate him, because police do illegal shit all the time. Gregory would point out in court that confessions made under pressure like that are illegal, it would have been struck from the record, and then Gregory would've sued the shit out of the LAPD on a breach of human rights because you can't just torture people! How well what would've gone would depend on racism mostly, talk to an actual lawyer, but it's still super illegal.
Gregory would have had to be there, the interrogator would have been a third party agreed upon between him, MvK, and the judge, and there would have been a full transcript that Gregory would have been given as a matter of course. You can't keep shit from the other side, any evidence has to be in the hands of both defense and prosecutor before anything goes to court. Remember the Alex Jones case with his cellphone? The prosecution had to wait two weeks and get confirmation from the defense that it wasn't given to them accidentally, and that they could use it, because of confidentiality between lawyer and client.
Or, most realistically, they would have put Jeff on the witness stand in court, and the court reporter would have transcribed. This is how it would actually go. You can't just threaten the defendant as a prosecutor. You can if you're their defense attorney and tell them how to plead, but the prosecution can't do that.
So with that in mind, you have to look at how AA's legal system works - it's fucked, by the way, and is less satire of the Japanese legal system and more the product of a guy who doesn't know how law works, seriously, Shu Takumi admitted he wasn't trying to make satire and was just bending the rules for the game to make sense - and then look at the position Gregory's in.
I'm not saying he's flawed for this, because a defense attorney in the AA system who only ever does things by-the-book and lets their hands be tied is a defense attorney who lets the system fuck them over. Yes, Miles got a lot of his ability to undercut the law from MvK, but Gregory also undercut the law when he needed to, because as AAI2's entire thesis states, the law as it stands fails people. Simon would not have gone to jail for anything he did right up until he dropped a hot air balloon on some guy. Nothing he did was illegal.
Gregory is presented as a paragon of justice, and the thing is... he is. In this situation, under IS-7, where AA law states they do not need Gregory there to torture and interrogate his client nor do they apparently need to inform him that this happened, undercutting them and getting a copy of the transcript was in fact the moral move. Illegal? I think so, probably, it's hard to say given that it's presented as a dirty trick to us when doing anything else is wildly illegal in real life. The literal best option? Yes, of course.
Gregory gave a shit enough that when MvK set the bar at actual torture and human rights violation, he played dirty. You see it all the time, where honourable people lose majorly because they're not willing to play dirty. Look at the USA's idea of politics. The Democrats would get a lot farther if they were willing to gerrymander right back, but they insist on playing 'fairly' even when no one else is, so they lose quite a bit.
When your opponent isn't playing fair, being honourable makes you a dead man, not a winning man. Gregory understood that, and he went for the option that wasn't legal, but was ethical, and actually in the name of justice.
Gregory understood that yes, sometimes the ends do justify the means, so long as you never forget that the means do still matter regardless of the ends. He was fully prepared to get Badd fired over this, and when his attempts failed, he was going to appeal it. (How that works in AA is never expanded upon, and I'm not gonna theorize, because trying to make AA's legal system make sense gives me more of a headache than reading actual case law.)
Gregory and Phoenix are pretty different characters. A lot of people think that Phoenix is Gregory's true successor, and I can't agree, because Phoenix is a wildly different type of lawyer than Gregory was. Raymond's a lot more like Gregory was, from what I can tell, because Gregory is presented more as like "your average lawyer, who unfortunately got shot in a case involving the chocolate guy" and Phoenix is more "that fucker who keeps stumbling into 15-year unsolved mystery cases on his quest to fuck a boy". Gregory's more down-to-earth about it, although I admit it could very well be because we only got to see him handle One Fucking Case, where's his prequel game, Capcom?
So there's some more thoughts on that? I can elaborate more if you prompt me into a direction about him, this is more a general ramble and analysis. I have way more thoughts (I love him, no one loves him more than I do save for maybe my systemmate Edgeworth, three guesses why) but not super sure what you're hoping for here, so prompt me and I shall answer. :p

Summary: James and Lily Potter are killed by Voldemort, but when the spell backfires off of baby Harry, Voldemort actually dies and the war ends. Instead of being shipped off to the Dursley's, Harry goes to stay with Sirius and Remus, which had always been according to his parents' wishes. This is a little snippet of their life together. A little bit of wolfstar raising Harry, basically.

Sirius leans back in his chair with a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. He’s starting to feel a headache prodding somewhere behind his eyes, a sure sign he’d been at this for too long. He stands, stretching slowly, twisting his shoulders slightly before shaking them out. He had shut himself in the office for some peace and quiet, unable to put off the work he needed to get done, leaving Remus to look after Harry.
He hated it though, always felt like he was missing out whenever he wasn’t with Harry. Especially since he didn’t have to work, he had enough money for the three of them to live more than comfortably anyway, but both he and Remus had agreed that they needed something to focus on outside of their home. So that was why they had started their practice in the first place, helping wixens and other magical folks, or creatures, in need of legal support, but unable to pay for it. They hardly ever charged anyone for their work, they didn’t do it for the money. Moony did the research, and Sirius took pleasure in parading through the halls of the Ministry or the courtrooms and beating pompous Ministry representatives at their own game.
This time it was a Muggleborn witch with a young child who was in trouble. She had been in an abusive relationship, her good-for-nothing husband threatening to hurt both her and the child, and she had used magic to defend herself. Her Muggle husband had been quite severely injured, and the Ministry claimed it was a breach of the Statute of Wizarding Secrecy and tried to prosecute her for it. It was, quite frankly, bullshit, Sirius thought, and he was adamant on proving that in court.
His gaze snags on something out the window and he leans forward slightly, seeing Harry crouched down and half-way hidden underneath one of the blackcurrant bushes at the end of their garden. He smiles a little at the sight of his godson, no, he checks himself quickly, his son, now, since the process had finally been approved and finalised by the Ministry.
He and Remus hadn’t considered adoption at first, it didn’t feel necessary, they were both Harry’s godfathers and they had absolutely no desire to replace James or Lily, but as Harry grew older it soon became clear that adoption did have its advantages. He was turning five, soon, and Sirius still couldn’t quite believe he’d already been with them for almost four years. Four years since James and Lily had died, and whenever he thought about it, it still felt as if it was only yesterday.
Being thrust into parenthood hadn’t been easy. Neither he nor Remus had hesitated even for a second about taking Harry in but going straight into full-time parenting while they were still reeling from the loss of their friends hadn’t been easy. Harry had helped though, with a one-year-old to care for they had been forced to carry on. And every day that Harry grew a little bit older, Sirius felt as if they were on the right track. By now they had built their own little family, found a cottage on the outskirts of Newhaven, between Brighton and Eastbourne, where they were able to keep Harry out of the public eye. They were both very aware that it would change when Harry got older, he would attend Hogwarts eventually, but for now, it was only the three of them and Sirius liked it that way.

Bill of Rights – With Some Interpretive Comments
I.              Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This specifically means religiously motivated laws under the guise “general morality”, “Natural Law”, “offense to believers” etc. In order to ensure all beliefs are protected there can be no banning of actions by others that some feel offended by because it conflicts with their beliefs.
Freedom of speech does not permit the call for armed uprising against the government nor should it allow “hate speech” which incites to violence or promotes the idea the some citizens have less rights. A live and let live attitude is the best way to preserve everyone’s freedom to believe what they wish without pushing their beliefs on others.
II.            A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
“A well regulated Militia” a phrase almost always omitted by some is the key to this right. At the very minimum regulation should include a basic level of proficiency and safety. While this was intended to be how we recruited citizen armies, today’s only reason for keeping it is to allow a person (in the absence of the police or military) to defend themselves and their home. Nothing in this amendment could reasonably be construed to allow any citizen to possess any sort of weapon they choose, especially if they have violent or antisocial history.
III.           No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
IV.          The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The standard for “probable cause” should not be something as vague as their presumed affiliations based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender etc, There is no reason to presume that the search can be destructive. It shouldn’t be a method of intimidation, destroying or completely scattering one’s belongings around the premises.
V.           No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
While it has been common for some people to claim that “taking the fifth” is tantamount to guilt (at least until they themselves are under suspicion of a crime) the clear purpose of this amendment was to prevent coerced confessions, i.e. torture. The Founders were well aware of the kinds of dangers the republic would face which would elicit excuses for an exception, but did not feel that such excuses would warrant the long term damage to the freedom and rights of citizens.
VI.          In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
The right to a speedy trial does not offer exceptions for a public unwilling to pay the taxes for additional courts or judges. Being as how these are among the most important functions for a free society the complaints about their taxes shouldn’t be a deciding force in providing a chance for the innocently accused to clear their name and be on about their business, as one would expect under the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
VII.         In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.
VIII.       Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
This should be considered in connection with the Sixth Amendment. There is a tendency for high bail to be set for poor defendants which essentially deprives them of their freedom, often their livelihood as well as their right to a speedy trial. The entire point of bail was to ensure the accused’s appearance at trial. If a speedy trial cannot be assured then some method other than incarcerating someone presumed to be innocent until convicted by a jury should be employed. Requiring bail only for violent offenders, prior felons, etc. may be a step in the right direction, but avoiding the imprisonment of people for long periods prior to trial simply because they cannot afford bail seems in complete opposition to this amendment.
IX.          The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
X.           The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
This is a very interesting amendment, largely in the way that it and the one preceding it have been deliberately misinterpreted by “State’s Rights” advocates almost from the beginning of the republic. It doesn’t and shouldn’t be a cover for each state to enact their own version of religious laws and observances, as it has in many cases. Those laws that claim some citizens cannot have the same rights as others simply because of their race, beliefs, sexuality etc. which are all based on religious notions, are a good example of what is wrong with the common right wing interpretation of these two amendments.

I am attaching redacted screenshots, so I want people to read this post with a critical eye. There’s no date, timestamp, and no name of the other user. Further, there is no metadata to accompany the SS even if I had provided those things. There is no way to verify the SS are authentic.
Now, I am explicitly saying I did redactions to protect privacy. I can only hope that people generally believe I act in good faith and have no ulterior motive, given my past posts.
HOWEVER, I’m just a faceless cog in the internet machine. I COULD have created a sock account and sent it to myself in order to make a post. I COULD have edited the language to make the person seem one way or another. There COULD be more to the conversation to give context.
Over Tumblr (and the internet in general), there is no telling what truly happened. That is the biggest thing I want to stress.
I will be using the neutral “they” to further protect identity and not reveal gender, not because they are Non-Binary.
I did block this person without responding to them, because I believe they messaged me and “asked” me questions in bad faith.
1) They asked if they could ask me something, and then did not give me a chance to respond. To me, that says they don’t actually care about what I have to say.
2) They say they are “not judging” my choice to be impartial, but then make inflammatory and conclusory statements without proffering any evidence. They have no idea what I’ve seen nor what socials I have access to. PHW has not made statements on these posts, nor do I have context. The user is asking me to make a decidedly biased decision.
3) Their post on PHW IMO shows they have already come to a conclusion, what do they need my statement for?
4) The tone of the message and the “cutesy” smiley gives me the creeps. “Please condemn this person for unsubstantiated heinous crimes, tee hee hee.” Yikes on bikes, gross.
I suspect they want a very specific answer and will only accept a very specific answer. I am impartial, thanks for noticing. Clearly, they are not.
 I do not engage with users who are coming to me in bad faith. I can only presume they want a fight, and I do not entertain such nonsense.
If I have to give any advice, I say “Protect Your Peace.” Make use of the block feature early and often. I don’t believe in giving anyone space to disturb my peace if they’ve shown bad faith.
I don’t have to “admit” anything, certainly not to some rando on the internet. This user is nothing and nobody to me.
As I am not interested in defending PHW because I am not his defense attorney, I am also not interested in prosecuting PHW. The provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick have not hired me to prosecute him.

..."A federal judge on Friday rejected former President Trump’s argument that he is immune in his 2020 election subversion criminal case, while also denying his other constitutional defenses.
“Whatever immunities a sitting President may enjoy, the United States has only one Chief Executive at a time, and that position does not confer a lifelong ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ pass, Former Presidents enjoy no special conditions on their federal criminal liability,” U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan wrote in the 48-page ruling.
“Defendant may be subject to federal investigation, indictment, prosecution, conviction, and punishment for any criminal acts undertaken while in office,” she added.
Trump asserted the immunity defense in October, arguing all his actions leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol are protected by presidential immunity. 
The former president faces four felony charges in the case, with Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s office saying he engaged in a conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruct the certification of the votes being carried out by Congress, as well as a conspiracy “against the right to vote and to have one’s vote counted.”
The former president pleaded not guilty to the charges in August.
“Nothing in the Constitution’s text or allocation of government powers requires exempting former Presidents from that solemn process,” Chutkan ruled.  And neither the People who adopted the Constitution nor those who have safeguarded it across generations have ever understood it to do so.”
“Defendant’s four-year service as Commander in Chief did not bestow on him the divine right of kings to evade the criminal accountability that governs his fellow citizens,” she added in her decision.
Trump had also pointed to his second impeachment, noting the Senate failed to boot him from office after his efforts to resist the peaceful transfer of power were swiftly brought before the upper chamber.
He contended that his acquittal in the Senate meant he couldn’t be prosecuted in the case.
But Chutkan, an Obama appointee, rejected that argument as well.
“But neither traditional double jeopardy principles nor the Impeachment Judgment Clause provide that a prosecution following impeachment acquittal violates double jeopardy,” Chutkan wrote.
She also tossed Trump’s contention that the indictment violated his due process rights and that the alleged conduct was protected by the First Amendment.
Trump argued the prosecution criminalizes his core political speech.
“But it is well established that the First Amendment does not protect speech that is used as an instrument of a crime, and consequently the Indictment—which charges Defendant with, among other things, making statements in furtherance of a crime—does not violate Defendant’s First Amendment rights,” Chutkan wrote."

The police came around. After being called to assault. One boy had hit this boy, for no reason, and the parent had called the police, and suddenly they were in the living room where this thin boy was sitting on the sofa, telling them what had happened. His face was a bit puffy but he wasn’t so mucked up. They (the policemen) had already been on the scene of several assaults already this week, where the victims were all mashed up, or hospitalised. Where they’d had to arrest the culprit and send him to the station overnight. Typical shit, for them. Just what happened. They recorded the details of this thin lad. Similar story; unprovoked attack. They had to get the story down on paper but both of them knew that nothing would happen to the older lad that had headbutted and smacked him; solely because he was underage and was not prosecutable. Plus, this thin lad, lived in a big house, was well spoken. Was exactly the type that attracted aggression from thick kids who had grown up differently. The mother was there as well. She was crying. They couldn’t feel the same level of outrage. They didn’t care; and it was only their work to deal with such incidents. Their philosophy was that there were ‘many young men and young boys who go out looking for fights’ – and that’s pretty much all they said. Nor was there any clarification of justice with regards to the other boy. He was seen several times afterwards and he just glared and snarled in order to defend himself. The policemen left. There was no following up. And the skinny boy had to live with that hideous memory for the rest of his days, with nothing but hatred to work on, nothing to do about it save write about it now and then.

Resolving divorce
I do not need to be discreet as we divorced 2017. I have nothing to inherit from exhusband as he was a poor immigrant selfish orthodox Christian average worker. Exhusband has no inheritance from his parents not grandparents. The family didn't bother buying me a wedding ring which turned the marriage into a bad curse.
I am not English Royalty I have no title. I am Serbian origin Yugoslavian genetically.
Socially in your imagination you could be anyone. I never used anyones name to gain wealth money.
My part if European family poor minded trashed the inheritance my father left to children which is not much.
If you do not have capital resource bank would not issue a big loan. If you do not have a job bank would not issue a mortgage whatever the title.
Whoever uses my profile ID without my authorization could get prosecuted.
Inheriting building in debt the debt dies not pass to a living partner instead bank takes the building. Living partner is not responsible to repay someone elses debt.
Government not ordinary citizens can it be in debt because banks won't give loans if resources are not available. Resources must cover the loan price.
When the Government cannot steal from the bank Government steals from citizens. I sue employees at DWP for theft on my welfare.
Citizen cannot support the Royals the Government can. I am not a Government employee. I applies few times they have excess workers.

Quack exposed: Genesis 2 Church of Health and Healing

In 1996, Jim Humble, a former scientologist,  claimed to discover MMS while mining for gold in the jungles of South America. He claimed that it cured malaria (this is not true). After some time, he invited a missionary group to Africa where he experiments with MMs on the locals there. Hex poisoned over 5,000 people there. He also claims he is a G-d from the Andromeda galaxy. "And then I asked to be put in the part of the space navy that watched over the Earth," Humble said. In 2010 Jim Humble and Mark Grenon founded the Genesis II Church of Health and Healing. The both of them are self styled Archbishops of their made up church. They did this so they could distribute MMS more easily. They needed to found a church because the mainstream medical community relies on fact and not anecdotal evidence. He lists MMS as a religious sacrament so it is harder to prosecute. He even said that it has nothing to do with religion. He co-founded the Genesis 2 church to "legalize the use of MMS" and avoid getting caught. Their main idea is that chlorine dioxide can kill pathogens in the body that causes illnesses. They say it should be ingested every day to maintain health. They set up shop in Bradenton, Florida out of their home. It is not an actual church. They say that Genesis 2 is a non religious church that was founded to create a legal structure to protect Jim Humble's teachings. They do not claim to serve G-d. They serve humankind. They do reference Bible quotes throughout the website (not active anymore) They chose the name Genesis 2 to reference a new beginning. This is related to their goal of restoring health and removing humans from the current "world of death" to the "world of living."Thier members and website suggest to help people, they must spread the "knowledge" of MMS. They maintain the belief that "big pharma" has a coverup happening related to MMS. They claim that MMS is safe for everyone. The members carry around a card that says: “This card signifies that this member of the Genesis II Church of Health and Healing has the God-given, unalienable right to control and maintain their personal health. All members are exempt from any means not chosen, including but not limited to: vaccinations, medications, X-rays, scans, implants, mandatory voting, and health insurance mandated by a human government or authority.” Several times a year, G2 held seminars on how to use MMS and a group of people would be certified in bleach in just a short weekend. They also had weekly 1 hour podcasts complaining about how everyone is out the get them. Mark Grenon claims to have been a Boy Scout. Scouts does not teach what he does. Sent a Letter To Trump When He Was In Office May 19, 2020 Dear President Trump and Attorney General Barr, I am writing you both to ask for the immediate arrest of US Attorneys Matthew J. Feeley, Ross S. Goldstein, David A. Frank, and US Judge Kathleen M. Williams for violating with gross negligence and contempt our 1st Amendment rights as a Church to practice our beliefs. The above mention individuals have been complicit in Case 1:20-cv-21601 by allowing the FDA and FTC to categorize our Church Sacraments as a ‘drug’ and thereof having power to regulate and or approve. Not only is this offense to us and ALL religions but a Church Sacrament does not need to be approved by the FDA or FTC to be practiced. According to the 1st Amendment there can be ‘no law’ that prohibits us never mind a code. The authorities found that the cause of death was undetermined so this fueled G2 to claim no one ever died from MMS. It even warranted a Dr. Oz appearance:     The FDA issued a warning in August of 2019, but did not take any other action. This only effected disabled kids after all.  COVID 19 The the global pandemic happened. Since G2 says MMS is the miracle cure for everything, they simply could not help themselves! They claimed that MMS cured and prevented COVID 19. This caught the FDA's attention. Restraining Order Against the Manufacture and Distribution of MMS by G2
It finally happened. Yesterday the Genesis 2 Church had court at the Federal Courthouse in Miami. Miami is only 50 miles from where I live in South Florida. I took a drive with another member of my organization to see this happen. Unfortunately, it was a closed hearing. We knew this was a possibility. It was an emergency hearing to determine if the temporary injunction on the sale and promotion of MMS would become permanent. On May 1, 2020, it was released that there was a preliminary injunction placed on Genesis 2 Church: “‘Genesis 2 Church now has been banned from selling, promoting, signposting, distributing MMS Chlorine Diixide bleach! They cannot: ‘label, hold, and/or distribute any drug, including but not limited to MMS, that does not have an approved new drug application pursuant to 21.’1. The United States’ motion for a preliminary injunction (DE 3) is GRANTED.2. Upon entry of this Order, Defendants and each and all of their directors, officers, agents, representatives, employees, successors, assigns, attorneys, and any and all persons in active concert or participation with any of them (hereinafter, “Associated Persons”) who receive actual notice of this Order, shall not, during the pendency of this action, directly or indirectly, label, hold, and/or distribute any drug, including but not limited to MMS, that does not have an approved new drug application pursuant to 21 U.S.C. § 355(b) or abbreviated new drug application pursuant to 21 U.S.C. § 355(j), or an investigational new drug application in effect for its use pursuant to 21 U.S.C. § 355(i), or any drug that is misbranded within the meaning of 21 U.S.C. § 352.3. The inspection authority granted by this Order is separate and apart from, and in addition to, the authority to make inspections under the FDCA, 21 U.S.C. § 374.7.   After ignored temporary injunctions and court appearances, the FDA raided the Grenon's residence. There were Federal charges filed against Mark Grenon and his 3 adult sons. After a search warrant was executed, they recovered:   50 gallons of muriatic acid 22 gallons of miracle mineral solution 8,300 pounds of sodium chlorite.   Two of the Grenon sons were arrested and the other two were hiding in El Rodadero, Magdalena, Columbia.     Mark Grenon's Reaction after the raid:

  Not long after this, Grenon and his other son were arrested in Columbia. All the people involved are currently in jail under marshall hold. They are currently still awaiting a court date in jail. I plan on being at court since I only live 2 hours away from the court house! Indicted in Miami! Yesterday, April 23, 2021 Mark, Jonathon, Jordan and Joseph Grenon were indicted in the south district of Florida Federal court. It was for marketing and selling a fake cure for COVID 19. They did not act on it when autistic kids were being poisoned but hey, its something.   "According to the indictment, the Grenons, all of Bradenton, Florida, manufactured, promoted, and sold a product they named Miracle Mineral Solution (“MMS”).  MMS is a chemical solution containing sodium chlorite and water which, when ingested orally, became chlorine dioxide, a powerful bleach typically used for industrial water treatment or bleaching textiles, pulp, and paper. The Grenons claimed that ingesting MMS could treat, prevent, and cure COVID-19, according to the charges.  The FDA, however, had not approved MMS for treatment of COVID-19, or for any other use.  Rather, in prior official warning statements, the FDA had strongly urged consumers not to purchase or use MMS for any reason, explaining that drinking MMS was the same as drinking bleach and could cause dangerous side effects, including severe vomiting, diarrhea, and life-threatening low blood pressure. See https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/danger-dont-drink-miracle-mineral-solution-or-similar-products.  In fact, FDA received reports of people requiring hospitalizations, developing life-threatening conditions, and even dying after drinking MMS."   "The indictment further alleges that before marketing MMS as a cure for COVID-19, the Grenons marketed MMS as a miracle cure-all for dozens of other serious diseases and disorders, even though the FDA had not approved MMS for any use. They sold this dangerous product under the guise of Genesis II Church of Health and Healing (“Genesis”), an entity they are accused of creating to avoid government regulation of MMS and shield themselves from prosecution. According to charging documents, Genesis’ own websites describe Genesis as a “non-religious church,” and Defendant Mark Grenon, the co-founder of Genesis, has repeatedly acknowledged that Genesis “has nothing to do with religion,” and that he founded Genesis to “legalize the use of MMS” and avoid “going to jail.”  The Genesis websites further stated that MMS could be acquired only through a “donation” to Genesis, but the donation amounts for MMS orders were set at specific dollar amounts, and were mandatory, such that the donation amounts were effectively just sales prices.  The indictment alleges that the Grenons received more than $1 million from selling MMS."   They are also being charged with criminal contempt.   So not only are they being brought up on civil charges, they are being brought up on criminal charges.   Monday, April 26 2021 is arraignment in Miami and I plan on being there. Wolves Season 1 Episode 1: Trial By Howl

The gallery was packed with citizens from across the forest, and an emblem made of bundles of twigs and grass hung just above where the judge would sit. Spooky crows perched behind the well, and monkeys hung beneath them, clasping onto the pine trees’ branches, and tiny mosquitoes and ladybugs viewed on crumpled leaves. The wolves gathered in the front row of the gallery, as the defendant was marched in. Rena Dmarani: former queen of Clan Dmarani, went through a tiresome process of having her claws dulled and being fed slop no dog would eat. She took a seat at the bench next to her attorney, Remis.
On the opposing counsel was the plaintiff: Keanan, whose den Rena had purportedly broken into and was stealing grub from, and prosecuting attorney Ujare of Dmarani. Rena didn’t understand why Ujare had taken on Keanan v Rena instead of any other criminal case, but she didn’t have much time to think about it. The bailiff entered, followed by the forest sheriff: a parrot, followed by Judge Evarra: a strict, quiet Northwestern wolf.
Before Rena could speak, the bailiff shot, “All rise for the honorable Judge Evarra.” All of the creatures of the forest rose at the same time, except for Rena, who followed suit. “Be seated.”
“Would the defense like to give an opening statement?” said the judge.
Rena’s attorney rose from his seat. “Yes Your Honor, we would like to give an opening statement.” He cleared his throat, then said, “Intent is the center of one’s being. If in a criminal case, intent is not investigated, nor proven, you cannot acquit, nor can you prosecute.
”Therefore since my client’s intent was wrongly assumed, and consequently was severely punished, she became the victim of one of the law of nature’s most severe flaws: our tendency to assume the worst.” Remis turned to the twelve nicely dressed jurors. “Our extreme pessimism got the best of us, and now it’s up to you, ladies and gentlemen, reptiles and mammals of the jury, to be the first to change that.” Remis glanced over at the judge, muttering, “Thank you, Your Honor.”
The judge muttered, “Would the prosecution like to give their opening statement?”
“Yes, Your Honor,” said Ujare. “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury and members of the court, I’ve come here today to dispute stories of an innocent wolf, to reinstate justice and promote the importance of security. As you will see from the evidence I am going to present to you, the defendant broke into a harmless wolf’s home, scratched up the furniture, and left the scene of the crime unpunished. You will see that diplomatic immunity has no limits, that the corrupt will abuse their power, that in the wrong hands, absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
“Would the prosecution like to call its first witness?” asked Judge Evarra.
“Yes, Your Honor. The prosecution calls its first witness, Queen Salela Dmarani to the stand.”
The monarch entered the courtroom burdened by a heavy crown, dressed in flowy garments, adorned in breathtaking jewelry, and flanked by drooling, cross-eyed royal dogs. “With the god Bavi as my witness, I swear that the testimony I will give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
“Queen Salela of Dmarani, on the night of the annual festival of Khamurshah, you sent out a patrol that never returned.”
“Yes, the patrol was led by Prime Minister Rillan: prime minister of the Murrith Den,” Queen Dmarani whispered. “He led a patrol of seventy wolves into the forest and never reported back.”
“Did Prime Minister Rillan train for three years as an elite soldier, Your Highness?”
She corrected, “The prime minister worked in medicine for three years, and trained for two years to become a skilled combatant.”
“The corpses of Rillan and the patrol were found savagely mauled in Zren territory.” The animals resting in the gallery listened intently to what Ujare was about to say. “Your Highness, did the Zren wolves have ill will against Prime Minister Rillan or the wolves of the Murrith?”
“Objection, relevance.” Remis interrupted. “Your Honor, King Dmarani’s passing united Murrith, Zren, and the other dens.”
“Objection sustained. Previous squabbles Zren and Murrith had are not admissible in court.”
Ujare said, “Your Majesty, do you recall witnessing the defendant breaking into the home?”
“Rena Dmarani broke into Keanan’s home, damaged his nest, and left the scene,” said Queen Salela.
“Were you friends with the defendant prior to this incident?”
“Rena was the daughter of King Dmarani, and assumed his throne when he died. She was exiled after uprisings that led to the formations of the seven clans: Murrith, Zren, Ammortith, Drann, Millash, Kenze, and Nazanish.”
“Your Honor,” Remis bluntly interrupted Ujare. “If I may, I would like to cross-examine the witness.”
The judge grumbled, “You may cross examine the witness.”
“Our Queen, I would like to ask you some questions. Please answer these honestly, as you are under oath.”
Queen Salela cleared her throat. “Of course, ask away.”
“How certain were you that it was my client: Rena Dmarani, that you spotted perpetrating the crimes?”
“Your foul client made herself known at the time,” she muttered, rolling her eyes. “I could smell the putrid criminal from miles away, anyway.”
“Your Majesty, you testified that Rillan and his patrol were found viciously attacked deep within Zren territory.”
“Rena Dmarani murdered my patrol and the prime minister, and she fled the scene of the crime knowing what she did.”
“Your Majesty, Your Honor, I have a confession to make.”
“Proceed.” The judge lifted his gavel. Those attending moved closer to the bar, and whispers and growls arose from the gallery. The opposing counselor shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and the judge leaned in.
“The prosecuting counselor refused to turn over evidence that Rillan and his patrol weren’t attacked by the defendant,” Remis said, as the gallery boiled with rage like a bubbling, whistling tea pot. “Additionally, he failed to turn over exculpatory evidence that shows my client had no involvement in the crimes. The plaintiff and his fiance had a grudge against the defendant, and staged a robbery in a botched attempt to have her imprisoned.”
Judge Evarra said, “The court finds the defendant not guilty of all charges, and recommends that the prosecutor is expelled from practicing law, and the plaintiff is exiled from Dmarani effective as soon as the sentences are rendered. All jurors in agreement, say ‘aye.’”
All twelve jurors responded with resounding agreement: “Aye.”
“Then the court renders the sentence of expulsion upon the prosecutor and exile upon the plaintiff effective immediately.” Some hairy bailiffs: big, muscular Arctic wolves from the Rinun clan, yanked the prosecutor and plaintiff, dragging the sorry dogs down the gallery and out of the courtroom.

What You Call Justice
Both detectives featured in this writing were created by me, and the prosecutor was created by a friend of mine; all of them are for an art theme on Discord. Takes place in a modern Ace Attorney-style setting, but with none of the canon characters.
Summary: The city of Adalci is amidst the soon to be infamous HR-6 case. Detective Maria Rozzer can't believe that the person accused of killing 6 people is none other than her mentor.
“Do you solemnly swear that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, under pains and penalties of perjury?” The bailiff asked. 
In a small, unremarkable courtroom with plain brown walls and the chill of air conditioning, Detective Rozzer rested uncomfortably in her seat. 
“I swear,” she replied.
It wasn’t the first time she had been called as a witness. There had been defendant after defendant put away using her testimony and a prosecutor’s argument. 
But this… this made her stomach turn.
The prosecutor slowly pacing before the stand was a man around her age, with short brown hair and wary blue eyes. He adjusted the darker tie of his blue suit. 
“Detective Rozzer,” he began. His voice was scratchy, like he was just short of coughing, with a faint Irish tone. “Is it true that the defendant, Hendek Roussin, is or was your mentor?”
She tried to resist narrowing her eyes at him. Chesil Odom. The prosecutor that conveniently found some sort of damning evidence, enough to level several charges of murder against him. 
Detective Rozzer could hardly believe she was here. Neither could the slew of other detectives and officers sitting in public benches. She’d had to listen to the back and forth of the prosecution and defense while waiting for her turn to defend the other detective. 
“Yes,” she answered. “He’s been a friend and proper mentor to me ever since I became a detective.”
“I see. But as I understand it, you met the defendant prior to becoming a detective yourself?” Prosecutor Odom was studying her through his square-framed glasses. “Could you tell us about that time?”
“When I asked ‘im if I could apprentice under ‘im, after I got my degree?” she replied. 
He shook his head, smiling in a way that was polite but unwilling to humor her. “When you were 10 years old, Detective.”
How… how could he know about that? No one knew-
And then Detective Rozzer understood why Prosecutor Odom allowed her as a witness. Not out of fairness to the detective, nor for a testimony to Detective Roussin’s good character. She was certain her heartbeat was as loud as gunshots. 
“Right,” Maria managed, quietly. “Yeah.”
All eyes were on her as she began a story of 14 years ago. “It was late November when I was walking to school. When I turned 10, my mum and dad let me walk with my mates. But that morning, I was late, so I was by myself.”
So there she was, backpack bouncing wildly as a tiny Maria Rozzer hurried to school. Her mum wrangled her daughter for long enough to tie her blonde hair into two cute, high buns, now keeping it from flying in her face while she ran. 
She was only a street away when a dark blue truck passed in the lane closest to her side of the street. It pulled to a stop and a man practically 3 times her size stepped out of the passenger side. 
“Hey sweetheart,” the man called to her. “Where ya rushin’ off to?”
But Maria’s parents had told her never to talk to strangers, unless they were other kids at her school, so she simply shouted “School!” as she continued running.
“School?” asked the man. “I can drop ya off. Want a ride?”
She eyed him, leaning against the truck door and smiling at her. Something about him made her feel scared. So Maria didn’t answer him, and instead tried to run past. 
But then he reached over, snatched her by the handle of her backpack, and lifted her from the street. Maria wrestled and thrashed instinctively, legs kicking uselessly. The man sneered at her. 
“Awful rude not to answer somebody.”
Maria struggled again, this time managing to slip out of her backpack and she took off running as soon as her sneakers met the floor again. She started screaming as she ran, but the man quickly outpaced her and scooped her up. The sound of another car door opening followed and a second man, slightly shorter than the first, joined them. The driver. 
“This lil brat giving you trouble?” he chuckled. 
“Shut up,” the other replied. Maria was still screaming and crying, so he shook Maria. “Both of you!”
In response, Maria bit down the hand he had wrapped over her mouth. The man swore loudly, but slapped her hard and then grabbed her by the scruff of her collar instead. 
“You sure we can sell this one?” the driver commented.
“Help me!” Maria cried. 
Detective Rozzer looked at the prosecutor blankly, green eyes hollow.
“I’m sorry to remind you of such times,” Prosecutor Odom said sympathetically. “What happened after that?”
“…I thought that was it. I’d get tossed into that truck by those dodgy guys and never see my folks again,” Detective Rozzer admitted. “Thought no one heard me, or no one cared.”
But someone did hear her. 
“Freeze!” shouted a third man, appearing from the alleyway between two buildings ahead. He pointed a gun at the men. “Drop the girl or I’ll shoot!”
“Oh, fuck, man!” The driver paled.
The other man holding Maria scowled and muttered a “Fuck this”, but shoved Maria away from him.
Maria stumbled and hit the sidewalk as the two ran back to the truck and jumped in. The truck’s engine roared and the tires peeled as they drove off. 
The man with the gun didn’t lower his weapon until they were out of sight. He rushed over to Maria and helped her up. Her eyes caught on something clipped to his belt that reflected the sun’s light, but it was quickly hidden by the man’s long coat. 
“Are you okay?” the man asked, voice soft. His reddish-brown hair stopped at the middle of his neck. 
Her hands and legs had gotten scraped by the rough floor, but it was nothing as she tried not to cry. She backed away from him. 
“I’m not one of them, I promise. They won’t come back as long as I’m around,” he said. “My name is Hendrick. What’s your name?”
“M-Maria,” she sniffled. 
“Okay, Maria. You’re okay now. Can you tell me where your parents are?”
She nodded. “At home.”
“Can you show me where ‘home’ is? So I can walk you back to your parents.”
She nodded again.
“I see,” said Prosecutor Odom. “It’s very fortunate that he was there to save you.”
Detective Rozzer glanced at the jury. Each of them looked highly sympathetic and concerned after her story had finished. Even the prosecutor seemed to sympathize with her. But she braced herself. She knew this was the act before the sucker punch, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. 
“Those men that nearly kidnapped Maria Rozzer were part of a human trafficking ring called 5N-4K3, or SNAKE,” the prosecutor explained to the room. “A ring that has been and continues to be a problem for our city.”
The same trafficking ring who Detective Roussin was accused of murdering members of. 
Prosecutor Odom turned back to her. “Just a few more things, Detective, and then you’re free to go.”
Something hot and angry clawed its way up her throat. He was toying with her. If she didn’t say something now, she wasn’t going to get to defend him!
“Detective Roussin is a hero! He saved me, and he’s saved hundreds of people in his time!” she shouted. 
“Objection!” the prosecutor pushed back. “The witness will refrain from expressing opinions on the stand.”
“O-Opinions?! Are you daft?” Detective Rozzer snapped. “He saved my life- that is a fact!”
The audience and jury began to murmur, starting a low rumbling that ran through the courtroom. The judge slammed his gavel repeatedly for silence. 
The prosecutor continued. “But it has no relevance to your testimony. I am not arguing that he saved your life that day, because that is not what is at stake here today. What I am arguing is that Detective Roussin murdered six people.”
Detective Rozzer clenched her fists, now clearly glaring at him. 
“Maria,” someone else spoke up. “It’s okay.”
Her eyes shot over to the man in the defendant’s chair. Detective Roussin looked tired, more so with the streaks of gray running through his reddish-brown hair and beard. But his brown eyes were as warm as ever.
“No, it’s not,” she said. 
“Answer his questions, please.”
All the anger, sorrow, and distress swirling around in her heart was starting to make her feel sick. But she looked back at the prosecutor. 
“I’d like to remind you that you’re under oath, Detective,” Prosecutor Odom said. “Will that be a problem?”
“Get on with it, then,” Detective Rozzer said flatly. 
“On the day you met the defendant, was there anything that struck you about him?”
“He had a gun.”
He smiled. “Yes, as you told us earlier. What about that gun? Was it department-issued?”
“Yes.”
“That makes sense. After all, he is a detective. But he didn’t identify himself as one when he drew his gun, according to your story.”
“…No.”
He nodded. “Did he have anything on him that identified him as a detective? Anything at all?”
Detective Rozzer stared at the floor. She was not a lawyer. She couldn’t make things up on the fly, nor fight her way back when things looked dire for the defendant. All she could do was see the truth. 
“Detective?”
She gripped the stand before finally meeting the prosecutor’s eyes. Committing every single detail of him to memory. 
“…His badge. He had a badge on his belt, but it was hidden by his coat,” Detective Rozzer admitted through gritted teeth. 
Prosecutor Odom looked to the jury again and held out his arms as if presenting the truth to them. “And he didn’t show this to the men or to you at any point?”
“No,” she said. “He explained what happened to my mum and dad after he brought me home, but I didn’t hear ‘bout that ‘til I was a teen.”
“So they didn’t tell you he was a detective? Why not?”
“…because he told them not to gab to anyone. Not even me.”
She was gripping the stand even harder now, but it didn’t hurt even remotely close to how much pain her heart was in. Like the man in front of her was ripping it open, one seam at a time. 
“One last question. When he introduced himself to you, the name was ‘Hendrick’? But the defendant’s legal name is ‘Hendek’…”
“I must have misheard ‘im,” Detective Rozzer pressed. 
“Or he was lying to you. So that on the day that Detective Roussin saved you, no one would know he was really acting as a vigilante-”
“Objection!” shouted the defense attorney, finally speaking up. “That’s speculation!”
“Withdrawn,” replied Prosecutor Odom, before the judge could speak. “But the truth is, even if he had been off-duty or undercover, he did not identify himself as he should have. I believe Detective Roussin’s intention was to kill those two men, as he has done to other members of that human trafficking group!”
And just like that, the unsteady silence of the courtroom shattered once again, coming back even louder this time. The judge slammed his gavel for even longer before the room eventually settled. 
The prosecutor was staring her down, smiling. Detective Rozzer glared back, breathing hard, and fighting every urge to spring over the bar of the stand to wrap her hands around his throat. 
“Of course, that too is speculation on my part, so I apologize,” he said. “The first murder Detective Roussin is accused of didn’t happen until years later. That being said, Detective Rozzer did showcase my point wonderfully-”
“Ya bastard!” she shouted. The volume of the court exploded for the third time as she rose from her seat. “Ya bloody-!”
“Order!” shouted the judge. “Order in the courtroom, or I will have you removed, witness!”
“It’s quite alright,” Prosecutor Odom said. “I was about to call the next witness anyway. Thank you, Detective.”
“Bailiff,” the judge shouted over the noise, “please escort the witness out of my courtroom.”
The bailiff's hold on her arm was firm as the two left the stand. Detective Rozzer glared at the prosecutor, who looked away from them as they passed. The door slammed behind them, leaving only silence. 
The bailiff let her go some ways into the hallway and looked at her, but said nothing before going back to the room. 
Detective Rozzer stared at the door. Her hands curled to fists, but they remained at her side. She had caused enough of a scene for one day.
Instead, she stormed out of the building. One of her superiors had left her a voicemail while she was out, demanding she return as soon as her testimony was over. 
So Detective Rozzer counted her breaths on the drive to the department and the lead office, as if it would calm her down. She knocked at the door and waited. 
“Good. Come in,” said the captain. The older woman waited for Detective Rozzer to pass before shutting the door. “Take a seat.”
The detective did so, silent and tense. This room, with red carpet and all sorts of awards and trophies on the shelves, not to mention the variety of knick-knacks on the desk, was reserved only for serious matters. Promotions or reprimands. 
“What were you thinking?” The captain started. “That is not how you represent our department!”
Her fists balled against her legs, as if that would give her the strength to keep her mouth shut. It did not. “I couldn’t just let that daft- that prosecutor say those things about Roussin! He’s dragging an innocent man’s name through the mud!”
But the woman only stared at her.
“He’s innocent!” Detective Rozzer insisted. “Ya have to believe that! He’s one’a us!”
“You’re a disgrace,” spat the captain. “Your loyalty is blinding you to the evidence, Rozzer. And murder is murder, even if the victims are scum.”
Shocked into silence, the detective felt her face grow warm in anger and embarrassment. 
“You cannot defend that man. There’s no saving him of his guilt,” her superior continued. “And if you shame our department further- more than Roussin has today with his actions- I’ll have your badge. Are we clear?”
Detective Rozzer said nothing. If those were the only two options, she knew which she would pick. 
“Are. We. Clear.”
But then she saw Detective Roussin’s face again, pleading with her to speak like he had in the trial. 
“Yes,” she murmured. 
He wouldn’t want this for her.
“Good. Now get out.”
Detective Rozzer left without another word. 
There was a different face in her mind now- one she committed to memory earlier. Every detail, so she could better remember the man she hated.

Assault
A St. Clair County Circuit Court judge called two men who pleaded guilty to a brutal stabbing thugs before sentencing them.
"There are absolutely no words to describe how horrible I feel for the family," Joshua Schreibman said before his sentencing.
"No you're not," Judge Cynthia Lane said, interrupting him. "After stabbing somebody nine times, you finally feel horrible?"
"Up to this point in your life, you have wasted it up to this point. You're 21 years old, you have nothing to show for it. . . Unfortunately for you and for society, you are unable at a very young age, to conform your behavior to what is expected in a normal, civilized society. You, young man, are a thug, as is your co-defendant," Lane continued.
Schreibman and Devin Convery (Michigan inmate 665173), his co-defendant, were sentenced to between 1 year and 11 months and 10 years in prison.
The men were arrested after 37-year-old Steven Kelch was hospitalized with stab wounds. He was found dead in his Burtchville Township home shortly after being released from the hospital.
Schreibman and Convery were briefly charged with open murder, but the charges were reduced after St. Clair County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Sparling said the St. Clair County medical examiner could not definitively conclude Kelch died of the stab wounds he received at the hands of Schreibman.
Arguing for a reduced sentence, Schreibman's attorney, Donald Sheldon, said Schreibman is remorseful for his actions and was taking advantage of the jail's classes to improve his life.
Arguing for jail time over prison, Convery's attorney, Sharon Parrish, said Convery admitted he became involved in the fight when Schreibman began attacking Kelch and kicked Kelch in the ribs. However, Convery did not know Schreibman had a knife nor did he know that Schreibman was stabbing Kelch, showing a lower participation level in the crime.
Convery apologized for his actions.
"I made a mistake and I messed up," Convery said.
"A mistake is I forgot to take out the garbage that day . . . Being involved in an assaultive crime like this is beyond a mistake," Lane said.
Schreibman, of Madison Heights, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
Convery, of Port Huron, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and resisting/obstructing/assaulting a police officer.

TRIGGER WARING: This chapter deals with sexual assault. This is the hearing which determines if Drake acted in self defense/defense of others or if he used excessive force when he interrupted Tariq's assault on Riley. Riley testifies so what she went through that night is mentioned. Also mentioned is the assassination attempt on Liam.

Drake had to hand it to her. When Riley said she’d make something happen, she made something happen. He’d had legal representation within twenty-four hours of her promise and for some reason it cost him almost nothing.
“Just a token amount, so that it’s a legally binding retainer.” Rashad had told him. He’d known Rashad most of his life, through Liam, but he was fairly certain that’s not why the man was helping him. He was absolutely sure that Riley had worked her magic and charmed him, just like she did everyone.
Rashad had ridden rough shod over the military judicial system, burying them in discovery requests, motions and complaints. A date had finally been set for his disciplinary hearing on the grounds that he deserved a speedy resolution, thereby putting a deadline on the investigation. The head investigator had tried to object but was overruled by Judge Advocate General Broadus. The JAG, aka the Judge Advocate General of the Royal Guard answered directly to the king, who had informed him that fast tracking the hearing would be in Cordonia’s best interests.
Drake shifted in his seat, fidgeting with the new suit Max had helped him pick out. Because apparently fashion was one of his superpowers. Drake had to admit that regardless of any animosity between them over the Riley situation, when push came to shove, both Liam and Max had been there for him. Either because they were that close, or because Riley made them. He wasn’t sure which. He suspected a little bit of both.
A murmur broke out among the spectators, and he looked up to find Liam striding down the aisle.
“Please, don’t mind me. Carry on business as usual. I’m just here to support my friend.” Liam clasped Drake on the shoulder, whispered something to Rashad, then took a seat in the front row, next to Max. The king sitting on the defendant’s side was sure to make an impression. It gave everything Drake claimed more credence.
The prosecution had very little to present. They hadn’t been able to turn up a single character witness for Duke Tariq Lambros. His own brother had declined to testify. Drake cut his eyes sideways at Riley. He had no idea if she’d had anything to do with that or not.
All of the members of the Royal Guard that had been present that night were away on special assignment and couldn’t be reached to testify.
The only evidence they had was the body itself and the fact that Drake had been covered in Tariq’s blood, but Drake had never denied that he had beaten the man the death. Just that it was neither intentional nor premeditated and that it had been in self defense as well as defense of others, both valid rebuttals for the charge. The only witnesses were Riley and Drake himself. He had already given a written statement and Rashad had advised him not to take the stand.
Rashad opened with Drake’s medals, commendations, and general stellar military record, in both the regular armed forces and the royal guard. Then there was a string of character witnesses. An impressive number, actually. He’d had no idea that many people liked him. He was sure that at least some of them were only there on Riley’s behest.
“I’m not here in my official capacity.” Liam said when it was his turn, “But I am here to tell you what kind of man Drake Walker is. A selfless man who has dedicated his life to the protection of others. A man from a long family tradition of service. His father, the late Jackson Walker, gave his life in defense of the royal family and Drake never held that against me. It didn’t stop him from pursuing the same line of work. Though, he did give up his chosen career trajectory for his country.”
“Could you explain that?” Rashad prompted.
“Yes. Drake joined the Cordonian Royal Air Force right out of high school, refused any special treatment because of his family’s connection to mine, and quickly rose through the ranks, earning his commission as an officer. He told me once that he was happy there and planned to stay in for life.”
“What changed?”
Liam shifted uncomfortably in the witness box, “I…uh…was the subject of an assassination attempt. The head of the King’s Guard, Bastien Lykel, went to Drake’s duty station and recruited him away from the Army and into the Royal Guard. He agreed for my sake, for Cordonia’s sake. He wanted to ensure my continued safety and that was more important to him than his own career aspirations.”
The emotion in Liam’s voice was real, the memory of that time period still burned in his soul. The helplessness he’d felt in the aftermath, the depression, the raging sense of the unfairness of the universe. The feeling of defilement at having had spaces that should have been safe violated. The humiliation he’d felt. Yes, he’d survived, but he’d been shaken down to his core. Like how Riley must have felt after her attack.
Liam jolted physically as a tidal wave of understanding suddenly washed over him. His eyes locked on Drake’s, then Riley’s and he was filled with shame for his inaction in the immediate aftermath of the attack and Drake’s suspension.
He squared his shoulders; he could do right by them both now. He drew in a breath and continued, “Even as child, Drake put others first. He stood up for kid’s that were bullied, he even advocated for animals.”
“What do you mean?”
“One time he brought home a stray kitten. Pets were banned from the palace due to the queen mother’s allergies, but he snuck it in and tried to keep it hidden. Which worked for a while. The palace is a big place after all.” He paused for the appreciative laughter.
“One day that cat got into the royal dinning room during a state dinner and the wife of the Hungarian prime minister had brought her shar pei and, well…next thing we knew the dog took off after the cat, who jumped onto the banquet table to escape, and the dog followed and-“
Laughter erupted throughout the room and the prosecutor jumped up, “Your honor, can we get back on track? This has no relevance-“
“Agreed, let’s move it along Lord Faheem.”
“Certainly, sorry, Your honor.” Turning back to Liam, he asked, “But first, I have to know…what happened to the cat?”
“Your honor, this had no bearing-“ The prosecutor began.
“Agreed, but I’m curious myself. What happened to the cat?”
“Oh, she was relocated to the cottage occupied by the head gardener and his family, where she lived out a life being spoiled rotten by his three daughters and the crown paid for her upkeep until she died a natural and peaceful death in her sleep.”
Rashad smiled and nodded, “Ah, that’s a satisfying ending. Moving on. Anything more to add to your statement about Captain Walker, Your Majesty?” Rashad asked.
“Just that Drake Walker understands duty and service as much as I do. He was raised by my father after the death of his own. The same values and ethics that were instilled in me, were instilled in him. Not that he needed it. Drake has an innate sense of right and wrong. I will be eternally grateful that he was there that night to intervene, when I couldn’t be. Captain Walker serves the crown, and he knew that had I been there, I would have done the exact same thing, I would have defended Lady Riley, my soon to be queen, my fiancée, the woman I love, by any means necessary.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty. Your witness.”
The prosecutor stepped up to the witness box, “Thank you for being here today, Your Majesty.”
Liam inclined his head.
“Respectfully, Your Majesty, if you believed them, why was Captain Walker suspended?”
Liam sat up straight and glared at the man in front of him, “Because I was trying to stay out of the way and let the system do its job. I wouldn’t want to be accused of overreaching. My understanding is that Colonel Blainsworth made that decision without taking all available information into account, a grave error in judgement, don’t you agree?”
The prosecutor ignored that and continued, “You weren’t actually present that night?”
“No.”
“So, you don’t have any firsthand knowledge of the events that transpired outside of what Captain Walker and Lady Riley have told you?”
“That’s correct, Captain Leventis. And I believe my future queen.” Liam’s voice held a warning note.
“Of course, Your Majesty. But is it possible that….” The man met Liam’s eyes and gulped, “Never mind. Question withdrawn. The prosecution has nothing else for this witness.”
Riley took the stand last. Rashad approached her gently, “Do you need anything before we start? Some water, perhaps?”
“No, it’s ok.” Riley shook her head, “I just want to get this over with.”
“Can you please tell this court, in your own words, what happened that night?”
“It was the worse night of my life.” She drew in a shuddering breath.
“It’s ok, take your time.” He said soothingly.
Riley nodded, “Duke Lambros entered my room uninvited.”
“And how did he do that?”
“The lock had been tampered with.”
Rashad paused to let that sink in before asking, “How do you know that?”
“The investigators found out when they searched the room that night.”
Rashad nodded, “Did he say why he was there?”
She shook her head, “He didn’t say much, he just…he…he…” The tears that slipped down her face were real. She didn’t have to fake her emotion at the memory of that night, “He said he was there to take what he wanted.”
Riley dropped her face into her hands, her shoulders heaving with quiet sobs.
“Are you sure you can go on?” Rashad asked her, his voice laced with concern.
“Yes, I have to.” She sniffled and looked down at her lap while she got her emotions under control. “He…he wouldn’t take no for an answer, he grabbed me and started ripping my clothes and…and…”
“Is this really necessary?” Liam was on his feet, “Why does she need to relive that night?”
Riley wiped at her face, “It’s ok, Liam, I have to, I don’t want Drake punished for protecting me…like you asked him to….”
“Wait. The king asked Captain Walker to protect you?” General Broadus directed the question to her himself.
“Yes” She nodded as she sniffled.
“Liam…Your Majesty, is this true?”
“Yes, General, but it was an informal request, she had no official security detail at that time, and I was still crown prince, not king.”
“Still. As a member of the Royal Guard, assigned directly to your security detail, he is bound by Cordonian law to follow orders from the king, or in this case, the crown prince.”
“Your honor! It was an informal request, not an order!” Captain Leventis objected.
“Even so. An informal request from the crown prince, especially when he was assigned to said prince’s detail, still comes from higher up the chain of command. If Captain Walker was outside the room in question that night because of a request, even an informal one, from the crown prince, then he intervened on behalf of the crown. What happened to Duke Lambros wasn’t an assault, it was Captain Walker acting in his official capacity as an informal, but de facto, part of Lady Riley’s security detail.”
“Fine, Your Honor, the prosecution will concede that, but the issue of if excessive force was used or not-“
“There is no consideration of excessive force when it comes to defending members of the royal family, Captain, you know that.”
“But she isn’t…I mean, she wasn’t…at the time…”
General Broadus turned back to Liam, “Your Majesty, why did you ask Captain Walker to protect Lady Riley?”
“Because I knew even then I was going to marry her, and I wanted to ensure her safety.” He held a hand out to Captain Leventis before he could say anything, “And before you object, my engagement to Lady Madeleine and apparent rejection of Lady Riley was all staged, for reasons I cannot state in open court, because they are above your security clearance.”
The general reached for the gavel, “That’s good enough for me. I’m dismissing all charges.”
The prosecutor shook his head, “But Your Honor-“
“Captain Leventis, these charges should have never been filed in the first place! If you’d like to appeal my decision, go ahead, but the only person that outranks me is the king himself. Feel free to take your chances with that.”
“Ok, but what about the charge of disrespecting a superior officer?”
“All charges are dismissed and so is this hearing. Captain Walker is reinstated to full duty status effectively immediately.” General Broadus banged his gavel down.
Liam shot a glance at Riley, seeing that Rashad was helping her off the stand, he strode over to the prosecutor, “Captain Leventis, may I have a quick word?”
“Of course, Your Majesty.”
“While I appreciate your dedication to doing your job to the best of your ability, I hope we’ve seen the end of this witch hunt. In the future, it would behoove your department to utilize a bit of discretion when it comes to members of the royal family.”
His brows furrowed, “But Captain Walker isn’t a member of-“
“Isn’t he? He was taken in by my parents after his father’s death. We were raised as brothers. I’m as close to him as I am to Leo.”
“Surely you’re not suggesting we should look the other way if-“
“Certainly not. I’m merely asking that you take into account all of the facts before jumping to conclusions. Do you see that woman right there?” Liam pointed to Riley who had made her way back to the defense table and was smiling and talking with Drake, Max and Rashad.
“Yes, sir.”
“She’s going to be your queen, in less than a month. More importantly, I love her, and I would do anything to keep her safe. She’s my heart, my whole world. I don’t want to see her hurt. Not physically, not emotionally. These proceedings, making her relive that vile experience, that hurt her. I never want to see her go through that again. Do you have wife, Captain? Daughters?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“Then you understand.” Liam clapped him on the shoulder and walked away.
He walked back to the defense table and drew Riley into his arms, placed a finger under her chin and lifted her head, “Are you ok my love?” He asked softly as he stared down into her eyes.
She looked up at him with a smile, her face still red and puffy from crying, “I’m more than ok. Drake was reinstated, all the charges were dropped!”
“I know, I was here.” Liam laughed, then dropped a quick kiss on her forehead.
Liam released her and turned to Drake, he stuck out his hand but when Drake took it, he pulled him into a hug instead, “I’m so sorry I wasn’t here for you sooner.”
Drake stiffened in surprise for a moment, then hugged him back, “You’re here now.”
“Now and forever. I won’t make the same mistakes again. I promise you. I promise both of you!” He said shooting a meaningful look at Riley.
He turned to Rashad next, “Thank you for taking his case. I always knew you were the best lawyer in Cordonia.”
Rashad smiled as he shook Liam’s hand, “Everyone knows that Liam.”
Liam laughed, “There’s that cocky attitude we all known and love. Are you ready to give up private practice and come work for the crown?”
Rashad shook his head as he glanced at Riley, “No, sorry. I have enough on my plate. Between my duties to Sloan Enterprises and my role as personal advocate to the queen in waiting, I really can’t.”
“Yet you made time to take this case.”
“On behalf of my future queen.”
“Well, this just further proves that my fiancée is brilliant, she locked down the best legal representation in the damn country.”
“Did any of you ever doubt my brilliance?” Riley asked.
“No.” Drake, Max and Rashad replied together.
“Not at all.” Liam responded. Turning to Rashad, Liam asked, “Will you be staying? At least for dinner? Please, we should celebrate.”
Rashad seemed to waiver, then Riley grabbed his hand, “You have to eat.”
He smiled at her as he squeezed her hand in response, “You’re right, ya amar, as usual. Fine, I’ll join you.”

1. On Saturday, a convicted felon whose own sister had begged the state to lock him up, shoved Michelle Go into a subway train. Her blood is on the hands of irresponsible DAs who are refusing to prosecute crimes across this country. I'm reposting an old thread to explain why.
2. The monopoly on violence must be understood not just as a prescriptive matter ("only the state has moral authority to use violence") but also a descriptive one ("all violence within the state flows from the state"). Crime, riot, and general anarchy are a state's responsibility
3. A state is responsible for the crimes of its citizens much as a man is responsible for the acts of his children, or his dog. He may not be guilty of biting, but he is guilty of omission. A state by definition can control its citizens; it is guilty when it omits to do so.
4. People like to discuss whether the death penalty should exist. They ignore that objectively, it always does. Whether the state chooses to carry out executions or not, every murder it fails to prevent is a death penalty. Every assault a corporal punishment. Every theft a taking

5. Thus when we consider whether executions, canings, mass incarceration and so on are "uncivilized", the appropriate comparison is not an /alternative/ form of punishment, but that alternative /plus/ whatever brutality the absence of the original, harsher punishment implies.
6. Canings may be less civilized than no canings. Are canings less civilized than the stochastic crime that an absence of swift and painful punishment enables? Is Singapore less civilized than the United States? Does it look less civilized by any metric?

9. In such a system, we must conclude that it is the criminals themselves who enforce the will of the state. If the monopoly on violence belongs to the criminal, the criminal is the state.
10. Crime is not a difficult problem. It is one of the first problems any state solves by definition, and one which pre-modern societies managed more effectively that we do now. The problem is a state which refuses to take accountability for its own power.
11. The crown lies heavy. As it should. But the modern regime has no crown, and therefore nowhere to place responsibility. The violence of lawlessness is more obscure than the violence of the state. The regime prefers to obscure its use of power. The regime prefers crime.
12. Michelle Go's death wasn't random. It was the fault of a state that refused to do its job.

Kyle Rittenhouse dreamed about shooting people days before Kenosha
Newly discovered video caught Kyle Rittenhouse fantasizing about being a vigilante gunning down shoplifters — just 15 days before he shot three protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, according to prosecutors seeking to use it in his trial.
The 29-second clip included in a court motion filed Wednesday shows a CVS store, with a voice sounding like Rittenhouse suggesting that people running out were shoplifters.
“It looks like one of them has a weapon,” says the person prosecutors identify as Rittenhouse, but who was not actually seen in the video.
“Brah, I wish I had my f—ing AR. l’d start shooting rounds at them,” says the same person in the video used in the filing.
Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger said his office only obtained the video on Aug. 12. The filing did not reveal how the video emerged, nor why prosecutors believe it is Rittenhouse, who was just 17 at the time.
Binger filed a motion to use the clip in the trial of the teen, who has always insisted he was acting in self-defense when he fatally shot Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and injured Gaige Grosskreutz during a Black Lives Matter protest last August.
“The defendant’s state of mind … is a critical issue in this case,” the motion stressed, saying the “video from only 15 days earlier … provides crucial insight.
“Quite simply, the defendant saw something, jumped to a conclusion based on exactly zero facts, and then threatened to kill someone based on his baseless assumption and wrongful interpretation,” the motion claimed.
“The defendant’s understanding of the proper use of his ‘AR’ and of deadly force is crucial to this case, and this video demonstrates that the defendant was eager to use deadly force in an unlawful situation,” the prosecution motion insisted.
“The video also demonstrates that the defendant fervently sought to insert himself as an armed vigilante into situations that had nothing to do with him,” the motion argued.
It also shows that he “was ready and willing to use deadly force in a situation where it was completely unjustified,” the prosecutors said.

"Sorry I was in the way. I forgot where I parked." You jiggled your keys, almost embarrassed.
"Get in I'll help you find it. It's really late and you shouldn't be walking alone in the garage like this."
The offer was nice, but getting into the car of opposing console would surely be frowned apron at your firm.
You were about to protest when he unlocked the passenger door. With a sigh of defeat you got inside. Thankfully Mr. Thomas parked in reserved parking on the lower levels. Far from the general parking on the upper floors that you used.
"I assume your late because of me" he laughed lightly as he slowly drove on.
"Yeah its safe to say you are correct" you dryly chuckled as you hid low in the seat. The garage was slightly empty, but you didn't want to take the chance of being seen as doing something inappropriate. Idiot why did you get in the car?
Aside from him being apposing console Mr.Barber made you feel uneasy. During the hours long deposition you would feel a weird tingle, that made you look up from your notepad only to look up and lock eyes with the DA. You shrugged it off as an intimidation tactic used to get under the skin of the opposition.

Andy made no effort to change course and you felt increasingly uncomfortable as he inched closer to the exit.
