I’m replying to asks because I don’t want to answer e-mais

this is tough... I have a hard time looking at my art objectively so I’m not sure which inking styles resemble mine. Like so much of it is not just in the sensibility and light/shadow choices but also in the... hand. How light or heavy of a touch etc. There’s definitely artists I’ve looked at when trying to figure out techniques and I can list a couple of those!

@the-east-hunter Honestly? I want to. I’m kind of trying to get into printing more zines/booklets because I kinda draw too much to be selling prints.. I can never fit them all on my display and no one even wants big prints anyways like so many ppl at cons tell me they don’t have space on their walls or whatever. Also I hate shipping merch, i dont like drawing chibis for charms/stickers and theres no good way to mail posters... it’s easier to ship books at least domestically through media mail. BUT formatting books is kind of tedious I have a hard time even arranging my art into photosets yet alone books. I make more fanart than original art but I need to make a LOT of fanart for a specific fandom before a book feels worth it and idk how I feel about making a multifandom book. And printing them is tough. I don’t like using online printing services but I’ve been moving too often to have a local printer I go to for books.. ANYWAYS im just musing to myself but all this to say: yes, I want to but I don’t think it’s gonna happen anytime soon. In physical form at least. Please check out my itch.io for digital pdfs though

I think Jamie is funny. Love to see him. If I had his powers I would make pokemon real I don’t care about the consequences. YOLO, I guess.

#the visual depictions are lovely #but what really gets me every time are the little cultural details in the music #music that tells the story of the Nativity while placing it in a world that's familiar to the listener #fur robed moujiks on snowboard plateaus in place of middle eastern shepherds #bark lodges instead of stables and rabbit skin in place of swaddling clothes #wandering hunter and chiefs from far off places instead of shepherds and wise men (man i love the Huron Carol)#and little french girls running to gather the village to come see Jesus #it's easy for an excess of historical concern to make Jesus feel distant and far off #/I know/ that Jesus was born in the ancient near east and have had my fill of books and sermons and the like unpacking the implications #I've laughed with my friends and family at the wild inaccuracies of Nativity sets and tellings #the crazy blonde mary in the kids nativity set at Walmart #what is that alpaca doing at the living Nativity don't they know those are south American?#yada yada #and then i look at these carols and think. it's okay not to get mired in the history. good even #yes Jesus entered into time and space in a very specific manner #but he also came for all of us #as another carol says: we see him come and know him ours #i just think this practice is lovely #that the impact of the Incarnation was such that it send little french girls running to their villages #and drew algonquin hunters and russian peasants to the manger to see him #it's the great crowd of witnesses in a way #all of us together preparing him room throughout all the corners of the earth #in Bethlehem that night it was only the shepherds who got to see him #but in spirit it was all of us #because it's just like the angel said:#good news of great joy which will be to all people #to all people #starting with the shepherds and going out to all the earth #unto us a child is born #intertextuality

Okay okay to the actual head canons

Luffys been everywhere, school wasn’t for him but he’s tried it! At his local community college he switched majors at least 6 times but that’s how he met Ussop, Nami, and Zoro.

Ussop is a double major (art and engineering), Nami majors in international business and loves taking social studies courses, Zoro is a mathematics major but really only goes to college cause he got a scholarship for kendo and it gives him a bunch of student discounts which he takes advantage of.

Sanji, my boy is a working man! A sous chef at the 5 star restaurant the baratie, he plans on taking over once his adoptive father retires, (Zoro calls him a nepo baby for this) Sanji met the rest of the gang when luffy forgot his wallet at home while eating there, Zeff made luffy work there as a bus boy for a month to pay of his bill (oh how he regretted it) and through confusing power of luffy charm and punching the shit out of anyone who annoyed Sanji, they became friends. In all honesty luffy could’ve paid off his tab but zeff took one look at the scrap of a boy and assumed he was flat broke.

Nami and Zoro share an apartment (wlw and mlm solidarity) which the gang uses as their hangout spot, Nami will charge anyone $5 anytime they spill anything on the couch which really adds up. she once bought an apple AirTag for Zoro with the money collected, it’s honestly a wonder how he’s still alive

That’s it for now :) I like writing about the east blue gang but I’ll write more next time

"i feel like luffy knows right from the start who to fight." chopper gets it! the rest of the crew is waiting for him out on the bridge because they know this isn't their fight and all they can do is wait for their captain. the marines can't believe that this tiny group of pirates wiped out cp9 because this straw hat was a rookie, and the rest of the crew shouts out to him that they made it to the bridge, they got robin, and all he has left to do is kick lucci's ass and they can leave. and luffy smiles.

#the marines: WE HAVE IDENTIFIED PIRATE HUNTER ZORO AND NICO ROBIN #... and NO ONE ELSE #god zoro the reputation you have that your name is known throughout the east blue and across the grand line #(yes i know he got his first bounty poster after they crossed BUT THE POINT BEING his name is KNOWN by many and was early on/first)#luffy picking a fight with the 'big bad' can easily be written off as 'oh he's just picking fights with the biggest guy' which yes but no #picking fights is more than just throwing a punch at the first person he sees #and it's been well established from jaya that you need to be able to gauge which fights are worth it #(luffy's fight with bellamy is actually one of my current favorites because it's him yammering and then just one punch)#and i think luffy's logic is a mix of things! one being that this guy has it coming because he had a major hand in robin's plight here #and other that he's the captain so is it not his job to look after his crew? take on the fights they shouldn't have to?#it's very important that each straw hat (and pirates as a whole but esp this crew because they're small) can pull their own weight #but you know luffy won't be pulling any of his punches #does any of this make sense my brain is fried #kate watches op #enies lobby #this was a post about chopper lmao
