APPARENTLY NOBODY HAS MADE ANY MASTERS OF DEATH POSTS
so here I am having to fulfill my own hearts deepest desires myself. Gonna fill up all the tags to get people to read this book
Tumblr media
Types of people who should read this book
If you’re a good omens fan like me and are struggling with the ineffable husbands divorce this book is for you
If you like stories about death, literally about death as in like the entity that collects souls.
If you like vampires or angels or demons or reapers or lore for creatures you’ve never even heard of
If you like a romance where both counter parts are immortal chaotic bastards who have both been wallowing in self pity over love for the last century or two
If you like romance where both counter parts are actually sweet hearts but are dicks to each other and in denial of their feelings
If you like romance between two sweet hearts who are sweethearts and would never dare hurt each other.
Yes there are multiple romance sub plots. Hints at sex or morning after but not spicy.
You enjoy happiness
This book is a nice read, I describe it as a short story with just a lot of build up and background information. Almost as if you’re supplied with everyone’s life story just for it to build up to this crossover where you must understand everyone’s motivations and wants.
In masters of death there is a game that immortals play where there is only one rule, don’t lose. In the story you have Fox who was raised by death himself, their dynamic is the best thing I’ve seen. Death consistently calls Fox out as a little shit. Viola a vampire real estate agent who failing to sell a haunted house with an annoying ghost in it. Mayra the Angel who is in love with Cal the reaper, Brandt the knows it all the thief and Isis the demon who honestly is just there to watch the chaos.
You’ll follow the book in a dizzying head spin as it reveals so much about each characters past, present and their deepest wants. There will be huge reveals and low kicking cuts as the story progresses and not mention lots of jokes and gags that were just too damn funny. Did I mention the philosophical moral of the story about the meaning of life? It’s as if it were a brother’s Grimm tale (which Fox and deaths story is based on) or a legend of heroics almost too good to be true.
So just freaking read it already before I spoil too much.

Boys prepare for a swim at the base of the Statue of Civic Virtue Triumphant Over Unrighteousness at City Hall Park, July 8, 1932. Mayor LaGuardia disliked it; he resented being confronted with the male figure's bare posterior every day when he left City Hall. When Queens opened a new Borough Hall in 1940, LaGuardia seized the opportunity and gave the fountain to Queens, where it was moved in February 1941. He wasn't the only opponent: in 1987 Claire Shulman, the borough's first female president, said it should be moved because "A municipal building is not an appropriate place for a statue that portrays women as evil and treacherous." Eventually, in 2012, it was moved to Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.

I may be insane (I know I am) but the last insta story that neech posted doing her makeup looks sooo much like shea coulee to me 😭😭😭😭😭 I just see sheas face in that story for real, but maybe is just the lip fillers that they both have
I have consulted the masses (two friends - one of which is the world leader in stanning shea coulee) and the results have been mixed, but I am here to get to the bottom of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now we all know Shea Coulee is one of the sexiest most gorgeous queens of all time (if you disagree block me fr that’s a fact of life) and we also know Anetra is one of the sexiest most gorgeous queens of all time (but babygirl dissolve those fillers. For me).
Anyways! There is definitely some resemblance with the lip and eye shapes (I couldn’t find a mid-makeup shea look on google sorry) but I’m not sure I necessarily would have seen the resemblance if I didn’t see this ask 😂
But there has never and will never be a time where I dont consider it among the highest compliments possible to be compared to shea so even if I hate Anetra’s fillers I see that as a huge compliment to her

"If you dont pick a side - aka the side I personally prefer for moral reasons - in HOTD, then you miss the entire point GRRM wanted to make, and are immoral"
Have you considered that you can do two things at once, understand the deeper meaning of the Dance and also watch this in the same way you would follow a telenovela or a soccer match between two bitter rival teams where you don't really have a horse in the race

Why do authors do this thing where they make a great hilarious wonderful delightful protagonist for the first book- and then never make that a character a POV character ever again for the rest of forever. Like-
The Locked Tomb Series by Tamsyn Muir
The Montague Siblings Series by Mackenzie Lee
The Queen’s Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner
And I’m sure there’s more. But like…why do they do this?? 😭 I know they get disappointed when the following books gets less hype- once the POV character is revealed anyway- but surely they knew that was inevitable?
Authors should absolutely write what they want and I get that. But damn does it suck when the first book is like, the best meal you’ve ever had, and for the rest of the books you have to like, lick the plate for scraps of whatever’s left of your favorite thing from the first book.
(That’s not to say that there aren’t other good things about the following books. But there’s a lot of good books with good things in them. But each of the first books in the series above introduce such a fantastic protagonist that the readers fell in love with that character and- for me and a lot of other readers- those characters is what pushed those books from “good” to “favorites”. So like, yeah the following books may be good wonderfully written books, but when you take away what made Book 1 a favorite, its only natural that your reader’s investment is going to fade.)
EDIT: I failed to mention when I wrote this that I gave up on Harrow the Ninth early. This was apparently a Mistake because I’m being told that finishing the book might change my mind about including it in this list. So I’m gonna do that!

My CONGRATULATIONS to Emma D'Arcy on conquering hearts. They won: IMDb Breakout Star, STARmeter Award.
To deliver thrilling and heart-wrenching emotions without uttering a word, is RAW talent. Emma D'Arcy is one rare talent who surfaces every century or more. I am lucky that I am alive in this century, for witnessing them on screen is exhilarating.
To see them on stage, live would be a blessing, a once in a lifetime chance--a chance that I would welcome with my heart and soul.
Emma D'Arcy, your great humility inspires; it is one of the many reasons I admire you so very much. Reading these words you shared with IMDb:
-- “I feel so grateful to the fans of House of the Dragon for welcoming me and the rest of the cast into what is their universe. I have been amazed and very humbled by the love with which us Westerosi newcomers have been met! I have never before had the privilege of sharing a loved character with a fanbase—it felt like borrowing a treasured possession from a friend. I am so grateful to have been trusted with it.”-- is why I am a devoted fan.
The world needs more individuals with your warmness of heart, more people with the kind of humility you possess, more persons with your great compassion.
