(I mean, we all know who wrote this episode and how she felt about these two as a couple, but it bears mentioning that even administering a heavy dose of Death of the Author here doesn't absolve this scene from being way more shippy than it deserves to be.)

WWX truly and genuinely does mean it when he says he wants to support JC #And that JC hopes for that too! Tragedies hit the hardest when you can feel the lost futures characters would have together #And I feel it here in this scene so painfully. There's complicated feelings between them but it wasn't what broke them apart.#The rumours and the twisted family dynamics that tried to pit them against each other likely wouldnt have worked.#It set the stage for JC to have an inferiority complex which then grows into his responsibility complex.#WWX even calls it out! That JC has to be the responsible one in the dynamic.#And it sucks to be in that unequal position with a sibling or a not-sibling.#You don't get the love *or* acknowledgement but you do get the pressure to be the 'better one' in the face of the other's misbehaviour.#But I digress. There was a world where they did became the twin heroes of yunmeng jiang and stayed together.#And we'll never see it. That world is gone now. sorry for the rather somber atmosphere... it's just in any zosan lovechild AU that is not the "sora lives" universe, i see reiju still keeping a distance when zosan's child is born because she's still with the vinsmokes or any other reason. or at least in the beginning anyway, one day she might finally give a chance on being part of sanji's life again -- once she finds a way how.

have we ever thought abt the fact that zuko is literally azula's older brother. like she's his little sister. that's his little sister. throughout a big, big part of atla plot, he was actively running away, scared of his little sister killing him because he KNEW she would/could. can you imagine that? your little sibling, wanting more your father's approval than your companionship to the point of death? every time they fought, zuko was fighting his baby sister. azula was fighting her big brother. this is making me so sick. they were 16 and 14 years old.

the thing is. the thing is I never see platonic physical intimacy/affection in shounen to the degree that I want to see it, like sustained hugs and cuddling and constant casual skinship, so power and denji’s sibling-level comfort with each other is so, so affirming to me. I adore it. and (manga spoilers) when power becomes that clingy with denji and denji allows it, cares for her bc he loves her she’s his family, it was everything to me. just hanging off each other (which they already did to an extent already!!!! i love this manga!!!!!) and denji even explicitly says it doesn’t feel sexual or “naughty,” and ik the context for why they were like that is god awful but honestly I was wary at first expecting it to still turn into female objectification AND THEN IT DIDNT. IT STAYED AUTHENTIC AND HANDLED WITH LOVE AND CARE. it remained a genuine, actual friendship between a male character (protag at that!!) and a female character (lead female too!!!). GAHHHH I LOVE M/F FRIENDSHIPS THAT ARE STRONG, FULLY PLATONIC, DEVELOPED, FICTIONAL M/M LEVEL FRIENDSHIPS GRAHHHHH it truly lets a story explore the sheer depth and value of nonromantic relationships. and I think chainsaw man does a lot with that theme anyway so yeah. yeah this is a great manga
