I haaaasss 27 asks :}
Tumblr media
Yes. Yes it does.
Tumblr media
Thank you! :DD And yeah canon Gregory is just not my vibe man XD
Tumblr media
(Traffic cone in question)
Thank you so much! :DD And yeah I try my best to get up and do something productive/different when I'm feeling down like that. My thought process is "well sitting here and sulking isn't making me feel any better so I should go and do something else" Which just so happened to be breaking out the old sewing kit and making a traffic cone?? XD Well to be fair I've made like 10 of those before but still an odd choice on my part-
Tumblr media
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked my cars artwork! :DD
And yeah I would draw cars stuff more often but they're just so hard to draw :(
Tumblr media
Idk why they decided to jump into a DLC before fixing the base game, but man I really wish they wouldn't have. 😔
Tumblr media
I'll do my best! :D
Tumblr media
@tallchest13-blog
Yes :} or at least I've been trying to-
Tumblr media
Thank you so much! And I did use a pattern to make him. Credit for the patten goes to Tammy Hallam, heres her video on how to make your own too! :}
Tumblr media
@montygatorshusband
AAAA THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :DDD
As for Glamrock Bonnie,, ehh, its a bit odd to me. Not a huge fan of the color pallet but its not the worst I've seen. I'd give it a 5.5 outa 10
ALSO! I believe Octonauts is streaming on Netflix, but I've also had some luck finding full episodes on YouTube :0
Tumblr media
Thank you! And oh yeah, I feel you on the fandom part. XD That's why I'm still kind'a on the fence and haven't dove head first into my usual angsty stuff. I'm kind'a testing the waters with every post I make to see if I'll collide with the uh, other side of the fandom :x
Tumblr media
Thank you! :DDD
Also Google is a search engine. :0 If you search for Octonauts fanart, its gonna do its job and search for fanart and likely find some of the stuff I made. Notice though that all of my artwork shown on Google links directly back to my blog. Its because Google isn't stealing it, its parting the branches of a bush and pointing "Look! Over there is some Octonauts fanart like you requested!" XD
Tumblr media
@pinkbomb08
There isn't really anything Gregory can do for Bonnie..
Its hard to explain,, but I'll try. Bonnie is missing his leg from the middle of his shin down. So he cant stand up right like Foxy because- well duh, he's missing a whole foot.
Tumblr media
So order to fix Bonnies leg so he can stand/walk like Foxy does, he would need an entire replacement foot with a working joint. This would also mean that the wires in Bonnies legs would have to be replaced and hooked up so that he can control said new foot.
Currently there are no spare parts around that fit Bonnies model.. and even if they did, Gregory wouldn't know how to properly re-wire an animatronic foot. He's smart but not THAT smart <XDD
The only thing Gregory could do is make Bonnie a weird peg leg that makes his current leg longer. Currently Bonnies half leg is shorter than his good leg. But in all honesty Bonnie doesn't really want that.
Having Gregory ducttape this weird goofy peg leg to him would be more embarrassing then what he already has. He'd probably want to salvage what ever dignity he has left and say "ah give it a rest. There's no point. My legs good enough for what its for." <:/
Tumblr media
@taizarack
If I remember correctly... Sometime ago my tablet pen broke. And it took like 2-3 weeks for a new one to arrive. In the mean time I tried to make an art doll of sorts. That doll was Bibi!
I ended up making a lot of goofy posts with Bibi and I as I waited for my pen to arrive. Once it finally did and I went back to drawing comics, I ended making Bibi a reoccurring character. And he's been around ever since!
Now Jangles is a Halloween prop that I bought because I thought it was funny. I was practicing making quilts one time and I made a small blue one that just so happened to be the right size for him. So I put it on and then I thiiink I got the idea to add Jangles to my blog as a joke.? I gave Bibi a "new friend" to celebrate hitting 10,000 followers. The new friend was a cropped png of jangles XD
Eventually down the line I wanted to give Bibi an proper friend. So for Bibi's birthday I drew a comic where Jangles came to life and here we are XD
Tumblr media
@pinkbomb08
Currently I am getting none of those things :x I have a cold so sleep and food is hard :( Thank you though! :D
Tumblr media
@notsoliyah
:D AW!! Thank you! I'm so glad to hear how I've inspired you! :}}
Tumblr media
@ur0neand0nly
XD Thank you so much! And don't worry, I'm pretty confident I'll draw him again someday
Tumblr media
XD Thank you. To be honest I'm kind'a going back and fourth on this fandom. I don't really wanna be apart of the fandom, but the characters are the only thing I'm interested in drawing atm soo-
Tumblr media
@ardent-38
Ooo these are interesting! Although absorbing power ups isn't about digesting them. Its something about being human specifically that allows them to absorb the powerups.. 👀👀👀
Tumblr media
@maddiethehatter2192
My advice would be to use references religiously. That's what I did!
Also thank you! :DD
Tumblr media
Barnaby for sure.
Well, my interpretation of him really-
Tumblr media
@taizarack (Post in question)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@funky-frankie
No there's no SpongeBob comic, I just felt like drawing Mr. Krabs XD
Also THANK YOU!! :DD That means so much!! :}}}
Tumblr media
@elegysonnet
<XD thank you. So far I have some pretty basic ones I imagine. Wally's house is alive and evil, Julie is actually a scary monster but has drastically altered her appearance to look less scary.. Sally is very celestial in nature because she's a real star, Eddie used to be a real human and bleeds and has a heart beat and what not.. uuuuuuh what elseeee,,, I liked to imagine that Sally and Julie came to the neighborhood when they were really young and Poppy kind'a adopted them?? Although I don't know how wide spread that idea is XD
Tumblr media
Thank you! And yeah I'm not very fond of that portrayal either <XD As for your questions..
1: I'm sure there would be somethings that would push his anxiety to the surface. I'm not sure what they'd be but still- I imagine if Luigi was around to see it he would try to get Mario out of what ever situation he's in. If he's in a crowd he'd try to help him slip away unnoticed.
2: I'm not familiar with the giga bell, but if I did add it I'd imagine those would be the side effects yeah <XD Really sore and tired and cant really move for like 3 days :x
Tumblr media
Remodeled or not, I wont be adding any of those animatronics to the Pizzaplex. I already wrote the entire past of this timeline, and those bots all already have a story in my AU. And with their given stories it wouldn't make sense for them to be added to the Pizzaplex.
Of course I cant spoil what those stories are, just know that I have my reasons-
Tumblr media
Oh yeah I forgot to add the colored eye lids to Wally and Barnaby in that trampoline drawing <XD
And yeah! I wanted Wally to be much more expressive so I gave him eyebrows-
Tumblr media
@cudlycorncornsworthcoberson
Aw, thank you so much!! Its so cool to hear that you've shared my name with your friends!! :DD

Little Nightmares hot takes
[Feel free to comment or reblog with hot takes of your own]
Someone on the LN subreddit asked for people's hot takes and I commented a bunch of spicy ones that I have, which I will copy and paste here (though the last one will have something added to it):
1- People who say that Mono is an uwu-softboi or portray him as such are awful and are doing him a disservice. Like, you can not look at his battle against the Thin Man and pretend that he's a pacifist, not to mention the other kills he made in-game. His fight against the Thin Man and moving the tower towards himself is his most badass moment and these rougher edges to him make him a much more interesting character. So by taking that away and acting like he wouldn't hurt a fly really doesn't do Mono's character and arc any favours, it just ruins it, so people have seriously got to stop thinking that he's a 'pwecious widdle angel' when he clearly isn't, especially when it hurts his character and story.
2- I'm pretty sure that people are expecting this one but the fandom needs to lay off Six, and way the fandom makes it so that Six must either be totally good or totally bad and is not allowed to be morally grey (in between) is so irritating. Just like with Mono, taking away Six's rough edges or smooth ones hurt her character and make her way less interesting. Also no surprise that I say this but the way that the anti-Six people treat her is so awful.
3- In addition to what I said about the golden child Mono stans in number 1, the way that the FNAF books treat Henry is very much like how the fandom treats Mono - only his suffering matters, screw everyone else. Or some go even stupider and treat all of the characters in LN except Six sort of in the same way that the FNAF books treat Henry, basically like "Six and her suffering? She should shut up and suck it up" or even going as far to say that she deserves her suffering. While just about all the other characters (Mono most especially) have their suffering dealt with a gentle hand.
4- I'm pretty sure this is ghost-pepper level spicy but it's so dumb that the fandom claims that Roger is nice. Like bruh, he literally has blood stains on his vest, chases kids, you can hear one that he catches whimpering as he takes them away, wraps them up to be taken to the kitchen, and there's a bloody guillotine in vicinity. Just because he doesn't kill Six or RK on-screen means he's nice? What?
5- They should've made a LN2 DLC where you play the game as Six and get to see her perspective of everything that happened, especially that scene. Make them step out of their Mono/Thin Man tunnel vision and focus on Six and her suffering too for a change instead of making Mono's overshadow everything.
6- Six being the Lady would be disappointing AF and lazy that they're recycling Mono's fate. I'd be better off if Six was the next Lady and not the same one encountered in LN1, but I still prefer a different way for her story to go (or maybe make my new depressing interpretation of her ending (where she's not the lady but is still stranded at sea with no innocence or humanity left, making everything she went through all be for nothing in the end) the actual ending for her).
Plus, you're telling me that the remaining staff on the Maw (The Twin Chefs) were like "Oh, this kid that we tried to murder earlier is our boss now" and Six is like "Oh, I'm not going to kill these guys who tried to add me to the menu earlier. Plus I'll hire an exact copy of the Janitor and get a replacement for the one and only mirror I was able to fight the Lady with since it broke and try to board it up in the same room that I found it in. Yeah, it tooootaaaally would prevent another me from being able to get it in the exact same way that I did".
Not only that but they also put a child in charge of dealing with other business-related stuff on the Maw like shipments of coal and vegetables (or maybe someone else did that)? So stupid.
7- Runaway Kid's name is not seven!
8- The ridiculous double standards of self defence. Why are Mono and Runaway Kid allowed to defend themselves from monsters trying to kill them but Six isn't?
Mono - Smashes a bunch of bullies, pulls the trigger on the gun to shoot the Hunter, beats some living hands to death, probably burns the Doctor alive, kills some viewers by electrocuting them to death or luring them off of a ledge, and probably broke every bone in Thin Man's body before Thanos Snapping him.
Fandom - Eh.
RK - Electrocutes the Granny to death and disintegrates the Shadow Kids with his torch.
Fandom - Whatever
Six- Helps Mono shoot the same Hunter that kidnapped her and locked her in his basement (and she didn't take the gun off the hooks, Mono did), kills one bully after being kidnapped, tortured and hung upside down by them for who knows how long (which will eventually kill you), cuts off Roger's arms with a door when she was cornered, eats a rat when there's no other food nearby, eats a Nome instead of a sausage that she knows is made of human flesh, eats the Lady when there's no other food anywhere, and kills some guests who are reaching over to try and eat her on her way out of the Maw.
Fandom - Monster.
Now, I'm not saying that what Six did was good or what the boys did was evil, but people have to stop acting like it's okay for one character to kill to save their own lives but not the other.
9- This stems more from a certain artist that I won't name to avoid people going to harass them, but on top of the self defence standards, people also have to stop with the double standards of bad things happening to a character due to another character's actions. What I mean with this is that while yes, Mono had no way of knowing that Thin Man was behind the door and getting Six kidnapped by him was a mistake, that does not, however, undo the fact that Six still got kidnapped or that her kidnapping is not that big a deal all because it was an accident on Mono's part. Especially when people won't give Six the same leniency when it comes to Mono becoming the Thin Man. Six had no way of knowing that Mono would survive the fall, let alone him being stuck in a room on a chair for decades and turning into the Thin Man, yet that is a big deal despite her not knowing but her kidnapping isn't because it's also an accident?
And lastly,
10- Another ghost-pepper level spicy but AUs where Six pulls Mono up yet all the suffering she has to go through before that is 100% the same as in-game makes her a way, waaaayyyy better person than Mono. This goes double for AUs where Six realises that he's the Thin Man (you know, her kidnapper and tormentor) but decides to pull him up anyway. Like, Mono as Thin Man decides to kidnap and torture an innocent version of Six, cursing her with the hunger and making the child Mono have to torture her to save her, but Six decides to pull him up despite all of the pain he put her through. Even more so when she realises that he is her kidnapper. That makes her a much better person that him. Though it also makes her kind of spineless. I'm not saying that she should drop him, but in-game the player can abuse Six in some ways (running when holding her hand, which makes her stumble, throwing stuff at her, bash her with weapons (even if they don't do anything to her) getting her to fall off of stuff (yes, she respawns or teleports, but still), blinding her with the torch) but not once does Six retaliate until Mono attacks the music box, making her a bit of a doormat TBH. Yet some people in the fandom portray Mono as the doormat instead, it's like the fandom goes out of its way to get Mono and Six as backwards as possible.
Additionally, fan content where Mono doesn't apologise for getting Six kidnapped in the first place, or torturing her during his fight against her monster self makes him a huge jerk. Like, this girl has to suffer because of his actions (unintentional, perhaps. But as I said, that doesn't make the pain Six suffered go away or not matter) and he doesn't even have the decency to at least say sorry for the hurt he caused her? It pleases me whenever there's fan content where he does apologise, because not being sorry for hurting Six makes him a huge jerk.
It's long, but those are my hot takes.

Forgot to post yesterday but my God. I can’t believe my playtime went from 23.? hours to 36 hours after doing Baxter’s DLC. Haha. He had me in his clutches since I first met him in 2020. Getting into the mindset of falling for him was hard though because God damn it Cove! I love you too much! I would feel bad when I sidelined him. Had to create an entirely new playthrough with my MC crushing on Cove from the start but not doing anything about it. That’s what got me in a good mood to date Baxter with little regret. Also it added flavor to the subtext when the conversation about first crushes/love happened.
There was so much that happened that made my heart flutter. I’m glad I bought the dlc when it came out (couldn’t play until literally a day ago due to irl stuff) and I was screaming way too much at the screen. I felt like I was reading a victorian romance novel or a slow burn, mutual pining, angst fanfic. It was great.
When we held hands? Janelsidnejishs
When our eyes met at the start of step 4? Ahriowsjrbsjsj
When he placed his hand in the chair MC is sitting on???? AAAAAA
The constant summer/fall shit going on??? I am so unwell.
Then the voiced bits. I can’t. This man has me fr. I mean he already had me before but it’s worse now. I know memes about him say Step 3 Bax is such a cringe lord but I’m in love with him. Sure step 4 him can shit on step 3 him all he wants. Yeah he broke everyone’s hearts. That mess of a man was my (not) lover for the season who entranced me. The only time my MC cried was literally the last scene before he dipped. Also yeah, I forgot what it was called but the first dlc activity, that one- we didn’t end up “dating” because my MC wanted something more serious and his non-committal response turned them off even if they wanted to pursue it earlier during the confession.
There’s so much more that I went feral over, blushing over, pausing to recollect myself moments and I could gush how much I love it all day. When he takes you to the same spot you went to watch the fireworks in Hang *sobs*
But in short. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Literally doing a second run as we speak. This time being indifferent to Cove all the way to step 3. And man, I’m seeing new texts. Imagine not being such a people pleaser even to fictional characters haha. This is a whole new world.

I had this cute thought where y/n runs like a little daycare for the sugar cubes, and as one of Chef Saltbaker’s punishments he needs to help her out. And as he does he starts to fall for her 🥺
Oh my GOOOOD, @moonholiclatte! 💖💖💖
I remember coming across a post from @clownsuu this very concept and AAAAAAAHHHH!!! My heart...💜
Chef Saltbaker at the Daycare
Content Includes: Major DLC Spoilers, Heavy Angst, and Panic Attacks
Ahem... *blasts the Daycare Attendant theme song from Security Breach*
Anyhoo...!
For his crimes against the Cups and his attempt to take control of the astral plane, one of Chef Saltbaker's punishments was to take care of the little sugar cubes at their local daycare.
His heart immediately dropped like a brick into a large pool of water.
Seeing all those tiny, adorable sugar cubes frolicking around the play area turned his stomach upside down. And then he saw the very same sugar cube he had in his kitchen.
Safe to say... he almost fainted from the sheer level of guilt coursing through his body.
Unlike Chef Saltbaker, the tiny little sugar cube seemed unfazed. Even when he first saw the chef himself, he smiled happily and lifted his arms up for a hug.
Why? After all that I had done, why...?
Why are you so happy to see me? You should be frightened! I deserve to be feared, little sugar cube.
Don't look at me like that... Stop looking at me! Stop. Please, stop... Please, I beg of you!
I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'msorryI'm-
Then darkness.
You had just came into the room when Chef Saltbaker collapsed to the floor. Luckily the sugar cubes were not underneath him when he fell to the floor. You jumped when you heard the sound of cracking glass.
You alerted the other attendants to help him and get the sugar cubes out of the way.
You knew who Chef Saltbaker was and you knew why he was here. As you and another attendant helped him off the floor and carry him into the back kitchen, you could hear him whimpering. He mumbled over and over "I'm sorry..."
His eyes were filled to the brim with tears, rushing down his cheeks. His whole body shook, antsy from the shock.
You could not help but feel pity for the poor man.
Once you were able to get him into the kitchen and calmed him down, Chef Saltbaker, with a shattered heart, flung himself onto you, begging for forgiveness. He may have not sentenced to jail, but the community service wasn't enough to take him away from his deepest regrets.
You heart broke at such a sight. Chef Saltbaker had shown you that he was a man willing to right his wrongs and that he was terribly wrought with guilt. On his knees, he softly wept, clutching your skirt like how a small child would cling to his mother.
You responded by giving him a warm embrace. Given your occupation, hugs calmed down even the most rowdy of sugar cubes.
Your hug did exactly that, as Chef Saltbaker hugged back and finally came to his senses.
Afterwards, you two got along very well as you helped around the daycare. You quickly found out that Chef Saltbaker was so good with children, which made you smile. He was an even better cook, for the sugar cubes loved his treats.
Chef Saltbaker would often help you in the kitchen - he's a chef after all - and keep you company. He found out that, despite having assistance, you handled most things all on your own. You were a hard worker, often tired and worn out, but remained positive. It was all for the little ones and that was what truly mattered.
A friendship had blossomed between you two, and after more months of community service, you began to feel something more. Chef Saltbaker felt the same about you.
When his bakery made its grand re-opening, Chef Saltbaker was the first to confess his feelings, this time as a brand new man and a good member of society.
You smiled and kissed him on the cheek. The feeling was, of course, mutual. ❤️

So I just needed a place to let my thoughts out on Infinite Wealth. It is likely going to have a bit of controversial opinions and certainly a lot of spoilers about the game itself. Or perhaps just the story.
The first thing I want to say is I am going to be honest...I do not like the new cast of characters from LAD7. While others may enjoy Ichiban and Nanba and etc etc etc and all of them as is WELL within their right to do, I hate having to slog through dealing with the Ichicrew to get to the actual character beats and characters I actually CARE about in the franchise.
I also hate that Kiryu apparently, though he LITERALLY HAS FRIENDS, its decided that oh...he'd rather pal around with people seemingly much younger than him instead of going and seeing the 3jimas or something.
Yes, he does meet them later in the game itself and they initially rebuff coming to his aid, but I honestly am flabbergasted they never came sooner aside from just. Oh big reveal and then they aren't interacting again.
Like why isn't the 3jimas with him in the hospital, why does Haruka only visit? It is baffling to me.
I'll be honest, I consider the end of the series around Yakuza 3 because that was meant to be the end of the franchise [I believe] but then they kept going and the story seemed to just get repeated...several times but in different flavors. Kiryu should have rested then...
In general, it also hurts to just see Kiryu abandoning his friends for this new blood. And I'm well aware he isn't actually abandoning them but goddamn does the writing surely make it seem that way especially with how, despite you know....the bonds of brotherhood with Saejima, the bonds of fatherhood with Daigo, and the bonds of lovers with Majima [my own opinion lol]...those three just get shafted time and time again.
And we are meant to believe that Kiryu is a good person? That he cares about the people he cares for? When he can just go 'lol bye' and dip out?
Listen, I understand that isn't what was meant to be portrayed at all but I can't help but feel that is what it is like when RGG just seems to have him come by, dip out, come by, ask favors, dip out again. One could argue hes trying to keep people safe but it doesn't work and hasn't worked...
I mainly hate him doing that to Daigo and Majima in particular. Especially Majima who does and would do anything Kiryu ever asked of him and had done so time and time again. They are just so inexplicably tied together by red strings of fate, only for Kiryu to just bounce. [Not to mention how RGG just seems to have some sort of issue with realizing just how popular Majima is but then only bring him out as DLC or you know, ways to get money all the same.]
The Kashiwagi and Kiryu scene at the bar just broke my heart too, now the playthrough I was watching, I don't know if you can go back to talk to him but just the brief like...two minute meeting and then the rest being karaoke, it just...idk man. I wish I could have seen an actual cutscene of them truly speaking with one another in private or SOMETHING. You haven't seen each other in YEARS.
Even if you wanted to play off the pretend names and all that, at least if you are alone, have that conversation. Something. ANYTHING. A crumb.
Then Kiryu going to the 3jimas to ask favors and stuff of them to help with the situation. I'm glad we learned why the fuck the Security company fell apart but if I was the 3jimas, I would be reluctant in helping too like...you constantly leave us and dip out on us and the only time you come to us is when you need something? Wtf Kiryu?
Because you know the 3jimas would welcome Kiryu with open arms if he would just commit to actually being their...idk...friend? Maybe that is why I get annoyed with that Ichicrew because...you had three other people right there that Kiryu could have been running around with but no.
I love Kiryu, deeply, but damn if the writing isn't frustrating to no end at times but well, I guess it is because he is meant to be something the player can project on even if it makes his actions so idiotic at times.
Also, I don't wanna get into the whole cancer bullshit, the ending image of Kiryu looking like a goddamn person on death's bed was heartwrenching enough. I understand that Kiryu wasn't meant to be strong forever but did the writers really have to do the cop out of getting cancer while he was trying to help that one dude? Couldn't Kiryu just grow old and go the Komaki route of training the new crew but otherwise be left alone?
And now once again the 3jima's fates are also a bit nebulously up in the air...and at this point, I just wish they would let all the OGs rest. You now have like 6-7 people for the ichicrew and gang and all of that, stop shoehorning them in for a fanservice that serves for like 5-10 minutes in a 50 hour game or what have you.
Also RGG, stop killing off characters too early...RIP Hanawa....Have you not learned yet...Or if you kill off characters, then explain why others are alive. I am looking at you Andre Richardson, where the FUCK is Mine then [Who RGG also killed off way too soon.]
Anyway, I'm sure I have more to rant about but agh.
At the end of the day, I do hope people enjoy Infinite Wealth and I think people that adore the Ichicrew will enjoy the fuck out of this game, but for me and what I was looking out for...well it was disappointing to say the least.

you'll never guess what i did today
(outer wilds!)
i beat the game! haha >:D
and wow! i dont really think i have the words to describe how i feel after all that ghsad
it was all so surreal and just amazing
but! ill start with the rundown of what i did today :)
started by going to the nomai graveyard in the dark bramble, it wouldve been nice to have actually gone there before my first venture to the vessel but i managed i suppose
then went to the vessel to try out the coords, but surprise surprise it wasnt powered. I was able to make the "theres more the explore here" thing go away though, so that was a good sign
then went back to the ember twin and finally went to the lakebed cave. i had already found out myself the whole being in the dark + quantum stuff thing but it was nice to officially learn it i suppose. also the skeletons in there are silly
then! went to the ash twin in my attempts to make it inside the ash twin project. came to the conclusion that it was probably with one of the towers based off what i read about the warp pad in there and lo and behold, i waas right
really cool stuff there! but you know what the coolest part was? the advanced warp core of which i of course snatched.
this was the point where i was like, yeah, this is it
soo shoutout to good awesome wonderful fren drama (hi! if you are reading this :D), they wanted to watch me complete it.
but first! they helped me out with the quantum moon and the sixth location, and wow! was in the hopes i would be able to talk to a nomai somewhere during the very beginning, and my wishes came true. now i have 1/6 of a new fren and had some nice conversations
after a little interruption, is was time to beat it!
got the warp core again, went through hell, powered up the vessel, entered the coords, and bam, the eye of the universe
again, wow :'D
really had no words for what i was seeing at the time, and still don't, it was just amazing
per request of fren i shot my little scout buddy up first and then cannonballed my way through after it
seeing the museum again, being in the woods, seeing all the supernovas, gathering everyone together for one final song ouhgheasdeffhsas,,,,,
and then we start anew!
im just, wowed, by absolutely everything. i may not be able to verbally express it audibly or with text, but, just, it was awesome man
i see why everyone wishes they could play the game again for the first time, it really is a peak example of one of those games
but hey, i got to see everything-besides hollows lantern but we ignore that um- and im just glad i played the game in the first place
after everything, drama helped guide me to the silly endings-which. truly, the kazoo credits were the most emotional song- met myself and screamed at myself, n broke the fabric of reality twice!
all n all, amazing game, will be forcing all my friends to play it
umm expect some art of it most likely, unsure how spoilering it will have to happen so if anyone has any recommendations besides tags do let me know
and see you next time for the dlc! :)
@dramaticuser hiya if you wanna see

My classrooms teacher got all of us support staff some nice coffee grounds and is gonna buy us all lunch tomorrow 💞 this one man has made me feel more appreciated by a job than any supervisor I've ever had before. And I mean it's not just the gifts like, today he gave us all paper cups with things he feels we are good at and bring to the classroom and other positive qualities. This guy probably doesn't make a whole lot more than me and he has a family and kids and he's over his case load and still goes out of his way to appreciate us. I feel like nothing I can do for him will be meaningful enough especially given that I'm extremely broke all the time. Maybe I'll just make him a really nice heartfelt card
I'm so glad he's coming back for another year, breaking the curse this position has. My school has gone through 6 DLC teachers in 4 years. The students have had no stability year to year, the teaching environment changes year to year, each new teacher takes several weeks to get to know each kid yanno so it makes it difficult but having him back next year will feel really nice.
He jokes a lot about how I should be the class teacher, that I know how to do his job well enough, that I'm diplomatic with parents and empathetic with the kids to a huge degree and that he can rely on me for anything ever and I mean I'm not really saying that to talk me up but it's more indicative to me that he's overwhelmed and appreciates my presence in the class so much. Too bad I have a 2 year degree in graphic design and nothing else lmao. If I thought I could afford it I'd consider going back to school for a sped degree but it's just not in the cards for me. I'm thinking about going back to school to become an occupational therapy aide, since that's only 2 years of school and I can do it over summers and I would make more money but still get to do the parts of my job that I love the most.
Really I think an ideal job for me would be some sort of accessibility consultant or engineer. I could get into 3D modeling and making adaptive devices. I want to practice switch adapting toys over the summer this year and learn more about eye tracking software and game adaptive tech. That's the thing I love most about my job, besides the students themselves.
And being around other autistic and disabled people is really healing to me specifically. I have the best and most fulfilling interactions with my students vs my coworkers. I love the people I work with a ton too but the kids, man, are so genuine and great. I love teaching.
This post got long I just wanted to gush abt how I love my job

Guilty pleasure: Hyperpop and the Twilight films. I looove hyperpop especially the new generation of hyperpop like Jane Remover and Underscores and whatnot but my family are big rockers who grow beards and chug beer so unfortunately i cannot express this lol. I also love the Twilight films they are so bad that they're good and I love watching them with friends to make fun of them.
. Thing i spent the most money on: I really don't know, I ALMOST bought an 95$ straight pride tanktop for a good friend when i was delirious from lack of sleep but I ended up stopping myself thankfully. Overall it was probably that Spider Man: Miles Morales game that was like €60 cuz it just came out and I didn't realise it was just the same game as normal Spider Man but with a DLC, was a bit of a stupid purchase lmao.
. Most recent entry in my notes app: Umm so fun fact, for the past few months I've been using Wattpad as my notes app because I don't write stories there anymore, and my last entry was the reading schedule for my homestuckbookclub back when I used to have the sense to plan those ahead. I haven't used the actual notes app since i broke my last phone so idk i think i used to jot down funny things that my friends said out of context there.
.
What's more important in clothing, comfort or style: Controversial but I love being stylish, I rarely am stylish, but when I'm stylish I feel more confident and therefore more comfortable. I'll still take comfort when i can get it tho lol.
.
What's ''home'': I do love my house and my family alot. Other places that I resonate with and feel safe in are: this village not that far away from where I live, I feel so comfortable there and I just spend alot of time walking the streets and suburbs and laying in fields and whatnot there and the gardens of this really old house that's nearby me. Its so nice and secluded and safe there I have literally fallen asleep in it's endless fields and if I could get some friends to take along to these places then I would feel golden. I also feel a very certain way whenever I travel to America that I don't feel anywhere else. I've been going since I was a baby (my first trip was when i was 6 weeks old) and idk I just feel so different, so confident in myself and full of energy

A lot of the complaints about DLCs being essentially part of a normal gameplay and just being some random upcharge that makes zero sense wasn’t something I understood all too well. Until now.
Like, the Pokemon DLC and We Happy Few, Outer Worlds, and whatever, it was extra quests that you’d know nothing about unless you saw the ads. Like okay. That’s fine. That’s DLC. New area. New Quests. Like $10. Nbd. THEN Comes one i ran into last night. So, I’ve been going through AC Odyssey finishing all the side quests i didn’t get to and just having a good time. Well, I starting working on the Atlantis related stuff. I went through all those hoops and special quests only to be met with a: “Buy this DLC to continue!” only to find that it was a $25 DLC for literally one questline and I was seething. Like. You give me all these things just as a PREVIEW Of A FUCKING DLC?? Wtf man. Why would you do that?? That was like a two hour preview of the DLC. Rude.
Like, I love Assassin’s Creed games but I’ve never bought one full price. They go on sale like twice a year and I usually get one around then for literally less than half the price. This time around, i was like, ‘hell yeah, $12 for the full game’ and bought it, not knowing that TWO QUESTLINES Lead to the fucking DLC. Now I’m thinking I should’ve splurged and got the whole deluxe game while it was on sale, but it was like $24 instead of 12 so i was like, ‘eh, if i REALLY want to do that maybe I’ll pay the $5 to buy the DLC later on.’ Little did i know that it was the same price as a damn indie game when it wasn’t on sale. Maybe when it’s on sale again bc I’m broke and the ‘full’ games are like $90.

Oh and have you ever done a nuzlocke? I can't remember if you've said or not. I did one recently of SwSh with harcore rules. Didn't make it past Nessa lol, that's what I get for picking Scorbs
I can't imagine trying to Nuzlocke modern pokemon games, I mean how do you even begin to handle the new encounter system or incorporate it into your Nuzlocke rules?
I realize this in no way helps you now, but if you ever find yourself in that situation again, facing off against Nessa with Scorbunny, I have seen Let's Players use the Isle of Armor DLC (if you have it) to access move tutors and teach Scorbunny Electro Ball. That is a way out, or at least, it can help.
As for me, I did one of Emerald years and years ago. It was the only Nuzlocke I ever did and frankly, it was kind of a mess. Though I technically won in the sense that I defeated Wallace (never even tried to fight Stephen, my team was depleted pretty heavily) I wouldn't consider it a valid run for a number of reasons. I just didn't know what I was doing, and accidentally broke the rules a couple of times. (Most notably, I hatched a Lileep that went all the way to the E4, forgetting that I had previously used Rustboro as an encounter location for my Shedinja - who, by the way, lasted all of two battles before running into a weakness.)
So, yeah, hardly a valid run. But I grew attached to certain Pokemon. In the end, my Swampert survived to the Hall of Fame and had earned countless "bro badges" as Marriland would call them. His name was Fenwick, and I don't even remember why. (Another challenge to this run's validity, he beat Norman using Double Team.) I had a Minun who I trained up a while, before losing him due to foolishness. His name was Newt, and even though Fenwick was cruising through Flannery's battle, I swapped out to Newt to give him some battle experience. I got too cocky, and it got him killed. But by far the worst was Tate and Liza. That fight was a bloodbath. My lombre and Torkoal went down, as did Ibsen, my Altaria. I actually screamed "No!" out loudwhen she died. The heartbreak, man. I love the Altaria line, and I was so attached to her...alas.

Why we have Crossover DLC Characters...
Tumblr media
So I have certain tastes, and that means I don’t watch many shows others may like. If it interests me, I’ll give it a shot. Usually what gets me is random clips or finding out their intros are frikkin awesome. And Peacemaker fills those two slots. Thanks to his appearance in MK1 being so fun and full of references to his stuff, it made me check out the intro, which is so frikkin fun! So I am giving it a One Shot.
Tumblr media
So after the movie (which I haven’t seen), Peacemaker is in the hospital being discharged. He thinks he should be going to jail but decides to use this time to escape since it seems like nobody is actually interested in capturing him. So while we see this lady text someone that he’s leaving, he gets into a Taxi and celebrates. Cue intro.
Tumblr media
Man, this intro is so fun. It's basically the entire cast dancing to a song called “Do you wanna taste” and it looks so fun. I wish more shows had intros like these. Returning to the show proper, we see some females entering a room (one of them being Leota Adebayo for future reference). I believe they are a couple because they’re talking about having a kid and calling them Octopussy. Bond fans, am I right?
Tumblr media
Back with Peace Cena, and after paying the Taxi with the helmet he wore during the movie, he’s back home and locked out of it. He had to break into his own house, and man it's a mess. Not like “someone broke into it” mess but more “haven’t picked up anything in months” mess. So apparently Vigilante is a “friend” who constantly calls him.
Tumblr media
Of course, returning home means people who captured you the first time would know you would come back to it, and one of them is Leota from before. The Bond Fan. And I think the others are the ones who helped the Suicide Squad in the movie. That’s when Clemson Murn offers Peacemaker a deal: work for him and avoid going to jail.
Tumblr media
Yeah, this is definitely Leota’s first job. And it's honestly funny. So the job is called Project: Butterfly, not a giant Mothra but alien parasites who possess people. And between working with that or having his head blown up, he accepts the job. He just needs to pick up his sidekick Eagly and visit his father to get a new costume and helmet. Also, he’s racist so he’s as bad as you think he is. Eagly is alive, healthy, and a hugger.
Tumblr media
After looking at the demoted allies to Peacemaker, we see Cena trying to make a connection with his father, by telling the story about one of the guys having a rat phobia and why. Sadly, it didn’t last long since he was the guy who shot him. Now we get to why Peacemaker showed up: getting a new helmet. Yeah, glad to move away from this scene because the father is a distasteful man that we’re supposed to hate.
Tumblr media
At the meeting, Peacemaker arrives dressed in full gear, to a casual meeting. Honestly, it is frikkin fun. They bounce off each other so well. Leota is fun. Harcourt kicks butt. And Economos reminds me of Deadpool’s friend from the movie. So after a series of events, and a sex scene with nudity, we find out Leota not only is working for Amanda Waller but is her daughter.
Tumblr media
And after that and a dance scene of Cena in his underwear, the girl Peacemaker slept with attacked him. Let's say the fight scene makes it really clear he is a perfect fit for Mortal Kombat. So while more adult than stuff I typically watch, it was a fun episode. And with only eight episodes I can definitely get this done before the year ends.

A week late, but I finally beat Elden Ring! Main storyline, Mohg, Malenia, Placidusax... basically everything that matters! I plan on replaying it in about a month as a new character so I can finish certain sidequests I never activated or accidentally left unfinished and prepare for the DLC, but until then? Have some scattered thoughts about the endgame/bonus areas!
(NOTE: This is actually a month late, and my thoughts and feelings on certain parts of this post have changed, but I'm posting them as-is for the sake of prosperity since I genuinely meant to post this at the original date. I just have a bad attention span/tendency to get sidetracked by other projects, ha ha)
I dreaded burning Melina because I was expecting it to be agonizing, painful, and depressing to watch. It was still depressing, yet she seemed to go peacefully meaning that once she was dead and gone, I couldn't help but feel... relieved, oddly enough. I really wish we got to see more of her because even after looking at the Frenzied Flame ending where she's revealed to potentially have some sort of connection to that queen the Godskins followed, I still feel like I practically understand nothing about her aside from the fact that she's a mysterious little enigma wrapped up in a riddle.
I knew what to expect since I went there super early via the Four Belfries, but Farum Azula is one of my favorite dungeons. It's hauntingly beautiful, the enemies are challenging in just the right way, the connection to the dragons, all the weird fuckery surrounding the Placidusax fight (as well as the reveal that he's a goddamn PREHISTORIC ELDEN LORD), and the way it culminates in a fight against best boy Gurranq/Maliketh...
The Godskin Duo can burn in hell. Seriously, fuck that boss. I gave it an honest try but after the thirteenth death and runback past those annoying knight enemies guarding the way, I said fuck it and used Sleep Pots. Absolutely no shame, no regret, and I'll gladly do it again upon replaying.
What are the Godskins even doing there, anyway? Aesthetically they actually fit in pretty well with the crumbling, ethereal architecture, but they stick out like a sore thumb among the beastmen, dragons, and knights that I assume are meant to back up Maliketh in protecting Destined Death. Were they trying to skin him and/or Placidusax, or did they want Destined Death back to empower their Black Flame magic?
Maliketh was a stupidly hard boss who broke me over his knee before Tiche and I were lucky enough to catch him in an easy to manage pattern, yet I didn't get angry the way I did fighting the Fire Giant or Malenia. Overwhelming as his crackhead acrobatics may be and how easily you can die after eating one of his Destined Death blasts, his moveset still feels very learnable and manageable: I was just getting impatient and trying to plow through the game since I wanted to get it over with at that point. Plus, he's just plain cool. :^y
Also... Jesus Christ, poor guy. There's something gutting about the way he sounds genuinely shocked and betrayed by you coming after him at the start of his boss fight. Sorry, man! I don't want this any more than you do... ;_;
A part of me wishes that the Ashen Capital was a proper dungeon instead of a big, empty wasteland... but at the same time, I REALLY wasn't in the mood to explore another, so maybe it's okay that it exists as a glorified boss rush chamber. And speaking of...
I knew Gideon would betray me, but I was surprised by his reasons for doing so. I figured he was biding his time to find the perfect moment to strike like a snake in the grass, but he was just... broken. Genuinely distraught by whatever the hell it was that he saw. He wasn't by any definition a good person (The Albinauric Village and Latenna say hi, as does Nepheli), but I couldn't help but feel a bit sad when all was said and done. He was surprisingly easy, which is sad because the gimmick of him having a bigger spell pool based on how much information you relayed back to him was really cool and inspired.
Godfrey kicked ass, and honestly? If he and Hoarah Loux had seperate health bars and Serosh did more than just spectate during the Godfrey phase, I wouldn't mind if he was the final boss. Even as an Astrologer getting help from Nepheli (who I think is supposed to be his daughter? Weird that she had nothing to say about fighting him) it felt like a true contest of champions: a contender to the throne vs THE original Elden Lord (in the Age of the Erdtree, anyway). A "mere" Tarnished of no reknown vs THE great granddaddy of all Tarnished: the consort of a God and a one-man genocide machine who ate Fire Giants for breakfast. An honorable duel that devolves into a horrifying, brutal cage match once the kid gloves (and spirit lion) come off and he starts pulling out suplexes, choke slams, and all sorts of other crazy moves that made me feel like we briefly crossed over with the WWE and Fist of the North Star. And despite being, at his core, an insane berserker whose bloodlust made him incapable of being a proper lord without Serosh to keep him in check, he was still man enough to congratulate me for a battle well-fought. Seriously, what a cool fight.
Also, him cradling Morgott's corpse at the start of the fight and the muted sadness (accompanied by Serosh's furious howling, which I'm certain is supposed to represent how he REALLY feels) he showed really makes me wish we got to see more of his relationship with both his Omen kids. It'd be heartbreaking to see him react to how deeply into depravity that Mohg has fallen, for example.
And speaking of Mohg? A surprisingly easy boss (granted, a friend warned me to pick up the tear that helps deal with his NIHIL countdown), yet one of the coolest in terms of aesthetics, music, fighting style... but good god, he's an evil bastard. I love him, don't get me wrong, but man: between the kidnapping and heavily implied rape of Miquella, the corruption of Albinaurics he was trying to save, the destruction of the Haligtree (doesn't seem to be intentional but I don't think it's a stretch to say that he gives zero fucks lol), he's one of the best contenders for the game's most evil villain.
Fellow superboss Malenia however was brutally, punishingly hard. And what's weird is that overall, she's honestly pretty unremarkable as a boss. Fast and relentless, yes. But her attacks are for the most part, very learnable. She staggers really easily and if you've got a powerful summon like Tiche or one of the Banished Knights helping you out, she'll spend at least half the fight knocked flat on her ass. And even her Goddess of Rot form looks scarier than it actually is since the above still apply... except for her butterfly clones. I still don't have the dodge timing down for that one. However...
Malenia's still stupidly hard because she's propped up by a really stupid gimmick and one obscenely overpowered move. The health drain on every single one of her attacks, even if you block them, is ridiculous and something that I feel is a huge source of "Fake Difficulty" as TV Tropes calls it. Likewise, Waterfowl Dance (or as I like to call it, the Anime Bullshit Attack) is just such an insanely overpowered attack that I'm surprised it avoided the cutting-room floor and made it into the game as-is without any patches to make it at least a tiny bit more reasonable. I eventually got the timing down (Pull a Joseph Joestar and run away from the initial flurry of slashes, roll into the follow up attacks and away from the finisher) and pulled off two perfect dodges during my winning attempt, but damn.
I assume the Scarlet Rot's messing with her mind considering what happened to Radahn, but it was weird that Malenia went from 0-to-100 rambling about the toll that the Rot has taken on her to declaring that you must die. Ditto for not being able to tell her that you know where Miquella is and that you either killed Mohg or want her help in taking him down. Apparently there's a LOT of scrapped material involving her, Miquella, and her boss fight, and that honestly makes a lot of sense considering that in her unused dialogue, she seems to only attack you if you actively attack her since she seems to have been conceptualized as a character that you could befriend.
The Haligtree was a great (if tough) dungeon and the Brace was just as breathtaking as the Royal Capital... but good god, the trip there sucked ass. The Concentrated Snowfield and that little evergaol town crawling with Albinauric archers/INVISIBLE BLACK KNIFE ASSASSINS were genuinely sadistic game design. The Snowfield especially what with its insanely overtuned enemies and snowstorm-induced fog. Not looking forward to doing that one again, to put it lightly.
Back to the endgame: the final boss. Oh BOY. On one hand, Radagon was a great fight and while not as manly and brutal as Godfrey? It was still an intense, dramatic, atmospheric showdown worthy of the Second Elden Lord/God herself. Radagon's overwhelmingly powerful, dangerous at range and up close, and while I thought it was a shame that you didn't get any insight to his personality? His cold silence and machine-like efficiency actually made him intimidating in a way that Godfrey/Hoarah Loux wasn't. While you can't afford to make many mistakes, he was definitely a worthy final boss...
And then a certain eldritch sea slug came right the hell out of nowhere and soiled it. SOILED IT. I guess it's meant to be the Elden Ring's true form... maybe? I'm still not really sure what that fight was about, other than that it sucked major dick. When it isn't constantly running away from you, you're having to run away every time it puts on a major light show leading to a real slog of a fight that made me think to myself "Can I fight the boss now, mommy? Please? Now? How about now? Can I attack- oh, not yet? Ah." Having to fight Radagon again every time you died to this thing also sucked not because he himself sucked, but because he's tough enough to a major drain on your flasks and leave you in a position where you can't afford to make too many mistakes when this stupid thing rears its ugly head.
For what it's worth, the atmosphere was really nice and the idea of fighting a weird alien thing in a forest of Erdtrees representing the Greater Will itself as your final trial was good in theory. But in practice. Painful. Just painful. I like to imagine that Gideon saw this boss fight and that's what turned him into such a defeatist. He was trying to spare us from an awful final boss...
And to cap things off... I feel like I understand Marika a whole lot less after beating the game than I did going in. I legitimately cannot tell what she was trying to accomplish, or if she had any genuine redeeming qualities since intentionally or not, she comes across as sort of an unstable sociopath. And Radagon as well as her relationship with him just make her even more of an enigma. I dunno, maybe I'm just dumb, but she's genuinely hard for me to read.

Disappointed
Last year was absolutely bunk for hip hop. I tend not to really mention music on this blog, mostly because I don’t really listen to the radio like, but I did notice a trend that’s been irking me for the last half decade or so. Ever since asshole mumble rappers broke through with their Souncloud clout chasing, Hip Hop has been mired in this cesspool of pedestrian “creativity”. These records don’t deserve any of the airtime they’ve been getting and it sucks because other, legitimately good, MCs are getting passed over for the next Lil Asshole or some baddie with a BBW who doesn’t right her own sh*t. I’ve never been a fan of Cardi B’s music but, let’s be honest, she got as big as she did because she’s “pretty.” Thanks to that blueprint, I get to deal with insipid rhymes and superficial lyrics from admittedly stunning women like Coi Leray and Ice Spice. The latter literally said she doesn’t right complicated or insightful songs specifically so the most people in her audience, can vibe to the music. That’s fine, I don’t mind an occasional, insipidly vapid, pop-rap hit every now and again, but when it’s your intent to flood the market with that sh*t, we have a problem. How are you not a plant at that point? How are you not a shill? IF your verse makes every song you get on worse, why are you even doing music?
I got Sexxy Red out here, hoeing around, infecting me with audible herpes, while Drake is writing diss tracks at Rhianna because she became the mother of not his children. Bro, this is the bar right now? This trash is what the kids are making hot in the streets? I’m going to be forty this September. I grew up on Rap and RnB. Cats used to make records which stood the test of time. Why is Big counted as one of the greats when he only dropped two f*cking albums, one posthumously? What record out right now, or in the last five or so years, not released from and established artist or cats not named Cole or Kendrick, will EVER hit as hard as Juicy? That sh*t is f*cking thirty years old! It was Big’s VERY first single and still slaps harder than ninety percent of records out! Who is making music like that now? Drake? 21 Savage? F*cking Post Malone? I mean, we do get gems on occasion. Man on the Moon III was peak Cudi. I already mentioned Kendrick and J. Cole. Outside of these cats, what the f*ck is going on? My radio is full of Drill music, that Chicago sound, and it’s bullsh*t. I’m just going to say that out loud. It sounds like sh*t and does nothing but breed problems. This is that ignorant sh*t everyone THINKS rap is, that cats from my generation fought so hard against.
Look, I’m not trying to sound like three “old Head who thinks his era is the best and no new music is valid” but seriously? 2023 was the worst year for hip hop in decades and I don’t see it getting better anytime soon. Honestly, it’s not like I hate everything out nowadays. I have a fondness for Da Baby and, surprisingly, Lil Yachty got pretty good out of nowhere. TI’s kid, Domani Harris, is f*cking brilliant and needs more eyes on him as soon as possible. I enjoy most of Doja Cat, she’s come so far from being a cow and, as much as I sh*t on Ice Spice, I’d be lying if I said Boy’s a Liar pt. 2 was a straight bop. None of that makes up for the fact I got a DLC for Drakes last album, because the initial release was trash and the f*cking City Girls are a thing right now. The bar is so f*cking low right now, and we, as a culture, can’t seem to lift it up. It’s wild to me that creatives like Missy Elliot and proven wordsmiths like Method Man or Busta Rhymes, are overlooked in favor of Travis Scott and Lil Durk. Who the f*ck is Lil Durk?? Why the f*ck is NBA Youngboy a thing but I have to listen to some twenty year old tell me how whack Eminem is? Hip Hop, specifically Rap, is an art form. It takes talent, thought, and charisma to create a piece. If all you’re doing is throwing up trigger fingers and making “skeeyee” noises, please stop. You’re killing the culture and making everyone look like assholes.

Would you recommend ScarVio for someone who stopped playing around Sun and Moon? I was going to skip it due to bare endgame and looking like a game made in crunch time, but the DLC sounding very promising and fun (And there is a discount going on).
No.
...okay, I want to just leave it at that, but I literally can't shut up so let me explain.
If you are interested in Scarlet and Violet, I think there are a few questions that need to be answered.
First: Why did you stop at SuMo?  I feel like this is the biggest question, because Gen 7 is smack in the middle of the GarbAge of the series, and a lot of things did not improve from that era.  Specifically, a lot of people in that era started to hit the "these games are to easy" assessment, due to EXP Share being a thing, and the general backpedaling of well-designed challenges.  ScarVio is possibly the worst offender of "Too easy" the series has.  It's so bad that I think many of the criticisms levied against specific fights as being "too easy" are mis-attributed to things like poor team design, when the real problem is it's piss-easy to accidentally over-level by like 20 levels and shit-stomp the entire game. But, another issue is the constant start and stop for story beats and being push through plot sequences with literally no deviation in path. ScarVi is actually better about this than I want to give credit for. You can do things in any order you want, and because the specific events are highlighted, very little prevents you from playing for hours just running around catching things or battling trainers. The caveat being, none of these challenges scale based on what you've already done, and the indication of intended order isn't clear until you've beaten things, with late and early gym levels being really close together in a way that makes it really, really easy to be over-prepared.
Second: How well do you tolerate visual glitches and poor performance?  This is one that broke a friend of mine, he cannot play this game because it agitates him so much.  And by these issues, I mean not just things won't render, I mean the screen will be like a strobe lighting effect as shadows glitch in and out of reality in the cliffs, the game will absolutely chug and jutter anywhere near a body of water, etc.  I didn't have issues that actually impeded gameplay, but performance is BAD. I'll fully admit this isn't something that bothers me as bad as most. I think it's inexcusable for a company as well off as Pokemon Company to not produce something to quality, but I'm personally more annoyed about the lack of good design for major battles or proper level scaling.
Third: How do you like open-world?  Are you a BotW/TotK fan?  If so, I don't get it, but maybe this is your speed.  But if you look at open-world like man, I'm sinking a ton of time into this to not even get that far, and a lot of these regions feel kind of exactly the same?  That's the vibe of the game.  I do think Pokemon handles it a little better than something like modern Zelda, if only due to greater variety in creatures you encounter, but Dexit did limit how much variety we're actually dealing with, so...
Fourth, and perhaps most significantly: What have you heard from the DLC that makes it sound good?  If it's story content, you are correct!  The story and characters in this game are pretty good for Pokemon. If it's gameplay related, find better friends/news sources, because it's just the same problems as the main game.
I cannot in good conscience recommend ScarVi, because realistically, the game itself isn't enjoyable. While I generally push for good story and character, games exist so you play the game, and if playing the game is mostly wandering aimlessly trying to find trainers to fight to get a little reward, just to wind up being over-leveled for the actual boss encounters, or god forbid, trying to do the god-awful raids? It's not worth it, and that's literally all there is to do post-game. Even with the DLC, you finish the DLC and guess what! Raids are all you have left. "But what about the school tournament you can do again?" Incredibly boring, because everything is still super low level and unthreatening. "What about the super battle fights in the DLC?" They're definitely tougher, and this game at least gives you the tools you need to perfectly EV train Pokemon unlike BDSP, but if you know how to do that stuff they're not that hard, and if you don't, don't worry, you're probably still over-leveled and it'll take like 15 minutes to beat them all once you look up where they are, because let me tell you, trying to hunt things down in big open world map sucks shit and no one should do it.
The only good in the game is story and character, and not all of the story is really worth it. I'd personally argue the majority of it would be entirely skippable barring like one or two pieces of background for the rivals to contextualize The Way Home, which is the good part. If that's what you're after, just watch someone play it on youtube. It'll take an hour or so. But I wouldn't encourage someone to waste this kind of money, even on whatever discount they're offering, for such a glitched-out disaster of a fairly mediocre game experience, just because some of the story stuff seems fun.

Writing / worldbuilding prompt: mash together genres/settings never seen before (or rarely seen before)
Tumblr media
I know the 2011 movie 'Cowboys & Aliens' isn't the best movie in the world by any means, but I really enjoy the concept because it was something we hadn't really seen before and it got me thinking / inspired. A lot of the time when we talk about aliens, it's in a modern or futuristic setting, not some time in the more distant past.
Modern aliens: War of the Worlds, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., District 9, Mars Attacks, Men In Black, Paul, Independence Day, etc.
Future aliens: Aliens, Star Wars (I know it is 'a long time ago', but just go with me), Star Trek, a lot of superhero movies could fall in this category, etc.
I could fill both of those lists for ages, but how often have we seen aliens in a wild west setting? What other successful titles have we seen this kind of mash-up? If we continue with the wild west setting, we can swap out aliens for robots and get Westworld. Put zombies in the wild west and you get the Red Dead Redemption DLC Undead Nightmare. Put dinosaurs in modern day and you get Jurassic Park. Put DC superheroes in a medieval setting and you get the comic Dark Knights of Steel.
Find two things you don't normally see together (or haven't seen at all) and go from there. Or you could take a pre-existing story/trend and give it a twist to find something new. Break some expectations. Play around and just throw some observations/lists/pairings on the page.
Rolling with the alien idea some more, what if we broke away from the modern and future settings and there were aliens in a medieval setting instead? Quite often the stories of aliens invading earth are from the point of view of humans. What if it was from the POV of the aliens?
Quite often if we think of vampires, we put them in a victorian setting or a modern setting. What if we had a medieval vampire? Vampire cowboy? Sci-fi vampire? Caveman vampire?
Alternatively, you could look at an existing story and give it a twist. Treasure island, a story about pirates, was given a sci-fi twist and we got Treasure Planet. Pride and Prejudice, a regency era romance, gets zombies added and we have Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Horror/slasher Winnie the Pooh gives us Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Sci-fi Swiss Family Robinson (already modelled on Robinson Crusoe a georgian era castaway story) gives us Lost in Space. Add a third genre and we get Star Wars (sci-fi, western with a splash of samurai). Modern, zombie Romeo and Juliet gives us Warm Bodies
What other things could we mash together? Sci-fi witches? Robot samurai? Dinosaurs and pirates? Modern knights? Victorian superheroes? High fantasy and sci-fi?
It can be a great exercise in worldbuilding or helping you break writers block because you need to figure out how your characters will navigate the world/situation. Lets continue with aliens as a concept for this example:
Are aliens commonplace in the world you are writing? Or are they an invading force?
Are they seen as a 'superior' or 'inferior' species to the originating species (lets say it's humans for this example) in your world? Are they whiped out? Enslaved? Segregated? Experimented on?
Using this fictional world, could you explore a world issue that might otherwise be a difficult topic?
What point of view will we be exploring? The aliens or the humans? Both?
What do they look like? How does being on Earth effect them (gravity, oxygen, sun, germs, etc). Can they adapt?
Is this a fish-out-of-water / isekai situation? Are the aliens friendly and just bumbling around as they learn about strange human culture?
Have they landed without humans realizing and are now hiding/in disguise?
What is the narrative conflict (man vs man, vs nature, vs self, vs technology, vs supernatural, vs society, vs time)? etc.
Explore the unexplored or take an idea and give it a twist. Can't decide on an idea? Make some numbered lists of genres, settings, creatures, stories, etc. and then grab some role-playing dice and have them decide for you when you roll them. A good handful of role-playing dice can be a really helpful writing tool (look up RPG dice mapmaking).
