I've talked about it before but I've made a playlist that's 300+ songs long, where every 4-5 tracks I put a song off the Minecraft soundtrack. The Minecraft song is my cue to check if I need a break, and I can either take the songs duration as a break or as a timer to wrap up what I'm doing so I can take a longer break! if I don't need a break in the moment then I just keep on keeping on. And the playlist is more or less manually shuffled so if I get sick of the same first 2 hours or so I just scroll to a random point in it and start from there!

Traditional pomodoro that uses concrete fixed time durations is hard for me to not feel pressured in, but since I use music I can generally tell when a duration is going to wrap up by virtue of being familiar with the songs on my list. And since most songs are 2-4 minutes long, 4 songs is a perfect work duration for me (being about 10-15 minutes)

this system works for me, and it might work for you! I like to listen to lyrical music while I do tasks, so I use instrumentals to signal my break. you could use anything you want though, like a genre shift, or invert it so a song with lyrics signals your break. Any video game OST or something is also a good break signal!

I didn't take a lot of still photos of the parade but these were some of the ones I did take! I really wish I took more pictures of people's individual costumes because my pics really do not sell how many individuals were all dressed up too! the floats/puppets are such a minor part of the parade! The best part is the hundreds of people all in paper mache penguin, snail, frog, bee, etc costumes! My favorite one was someone dressed as an opossum with their baby riding on their shoulders, also dressed as an opossum. Procession of the Species is an earth day parade held yearly in Olympia where we celebrate all the life on Earth, from humans to bison to ferns :)
