𝐀 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏
“who the fuck moves to tennessee dad!” you threw your hands to your head while having a heated argument with your father.
he said something about his business booming if they moved over there, how he’d be making twice as much as his regular income.
but next thing you knew you were unloading boxes upon boxes into your farm house that was beautifully remodeled you can even say. you chose the room with a gorgeous bay window that showed the entire farm from the backyard, you can say this is the whitest thing you dad ever decided.
after a couple of weeks of still getting settled into your new home, the only neighbor you had being at least three miles away. your dad had hired some help with the farm, he was eager to make it into something beautiful, he was having them buy all sorts of crops and farm animals. yeah, you like animals but if a chicken chased you, you are running for you damn life.
“y/n, come here real quick!” you slipped on your fluffy little slides and made your way downstairs to see your dad sitting down with a couple other people, he made them something to snack on in the meanwhile.
“yeah?” you sat on the arm of the coach “these are our farmers, they’re gonna be here for a very long time so introduce yourself now because they’re gonna become family real soon” he chuckled, you got up and shake their hands, your eyes getting caught on the muscular blonde with a long braided ponytail, her blue eyes and freckled face could’ve ended you right there until you noticed her arms.
“uh.. i’m y/n but you guys can call me y/nn if you want” your handshake with the girl lasting a little longer “well of course miss y/n, it’s great to meet you, my names abby!” a strong southern accent slipped from her lips.

every time your dad left for work you took the opportunity to blast music from you room, the songs slipped through the little cracks in the wooden house enough for the farmers to hear. you noticed today was a little hotter than other day so you decided to be a good little help and bring them sandwiches you made with something to drink.
walking outside over to the guys you thanked them for their help and handed them the snack, you couldn’t seem to find abby until you heard noise coming from the stables, entering it you swore you could’ve passed out at the sight of her. the sleeves to her button up rolled up to show off her veiny arms, sweat seeping through, strands of her hair sticking to her face. she was loading hay bells on top of each other, she noticed your presence after you staring at her with goo-goo eyes.
“hey ms. y/n, can i help you with anythin’?” she took her gloves off tucking them into her back pocket, wipes the sweat off her face with her arm, breathing heavily from the labor.
“i um made you a sandwich, you guys deserve a break” you gave her a shy smile before handing her the sandwich and cold water bottle “that’s so sweet of you hun, thank you” she took them from your smaller hands, gulping down the water bottle within seconds. “oh um, did you want another one?” you didn’t it was humanly possible to drink water that fast.
“no no, it’s all good miss, thank you s’much” god you couldn’t get enough of that accent of hers, “did you need help? i can help load them” you walked in front of her and tried to pick up one of the hay bells before miserably putting it back on the ground “no, don’t hurt yourself miss, they’re too heavy” it seemed almost like an insult, you can do heavy lifting as well.
“i can help around my farm as well abby, see” you finally lifted the hay, struggling very very badly to put it on the other ones “if you want to help, miss, you can pick those pretty little flowers” she grabbed the hay bell from you and settled it down “i don’t want your pretty little hands getting all rough n calloused like mine” she threw her gloves back on.
“i can do that” you went over to the small garden that growing the prettiest flowers, getting on your knees you slowly started picking the ones that you thought were pretty, you screamed bloody murder when you saw a little snake in between the flowers, jolting up and running away from it before hitting into something hard.
“oh god miss, what? what happened?” she held your arms with a very concerned look “abby there’s, oh fuck” you coughed a little, hiding your face in her chest unintentionally, you had the worst fear of snakes, didn’t matter how big or small they were, they scared you to death “what? miss? wheres what?” she noticed your distress and rubbed her hands on back “there’s a snake in the flowers, ohmygod im gonna pass out.”
abby had you sit down on the bench near the stable, your knees tucked against your knees as you were afraid of anything else showing up, she bent down and easily grabbed the little snake, a laugh erupting from her “you were scared of this little fella?” she looked over at you, you were tense by seeing her holding that thing.
“yes! please put it away somewhere far!” anyone else would’ve said you were overreacting but a phobia is a phobia.
she came back over to you with the softest smile “let’s get you back inside miss, don’t need you gettin’ a heart attack” she halfheartedly joked, agreeing with her you slowly and carefully walked back inside your house, abby following closely behind you like a bodyguard. turning around went you reached your back door you gave her an embarrassed look.
“i must’ve look so stupid to you, city girl comes to the country and screams at the first thing she sees outside” your comment earned a laugh from her “i can’t blame you miss but i grew up in this area so i’ve seen everything you can think of.” you smiled at her, giving her a small thank you before walking inside.

drummer au headcanons
barbie as a drummer in a grunge/garage rock band has been IN my mind so hard lately & well i had to do something…….
credits to @hellsfireclub & @el-fandom-phantom for some of these too btw <33 feeding my delusions 😋
it starts when barbie is like in 8th or 9th grade, she and her friends (probably ken & basketball ken [kingsley ben-adir’s ken, to clarify]) find some instruments at a garage sale or thrift store
they’re not in the greatest shape, but they get the job done and they sound decent. the three of them spend their afternoons after school playing random beats and just messing around, simply having fun while trying to get a hang of the instruments
barbie tries her luck with the guitar but she doesn’t quite like it. she can play it just fine, but she doesn’t feel it flow out of her the way it seems to for ken
(basketball ken plays the bass)
barbie has a little bit of a crisis…. her friends are really great at guitar & bass, and what about her!! what is she good at?? does she have any musical ability??
she doesn’t realize that whenever she listens to music, she is always tapping her foot/bouncing her leg, or drumming her fingers, or tapping out somehow, the rhythm of the song. always following the beat, without even thinking
basketball ken’s dad has an old drum set in the garage that barbie sees one day when they decide to practice at his house one afternoon
and as soon as barbie sees it…. it finally clicks
she is an absolute natural with the drums. the beat simply flows through her and it’s like she doesn’t even have to try
(obviously she does, though. she is only around 14/15, and far from the greatest in the world.)
she feels damn proud of herself though, for finally finding her calling. and she has so much fun playing. it’s addicting, and they’ll all spend hours, until barbie has nailed a new routine or solo and feels extremely satisfied
it continues like this through high school. as they get older, they get a little more ‘serious.’ aka they branch out and try new styles. ken takes up vocals alongside guitar, and basketball ken + barbie do back-up.
by senior year, they’ve amassed a pretty impressive base of people who know them. they mostly stick to covers, though they do dabble in attempting original music from time to time
(it’s also worth noting that all 3 of them can play the instruments interchangeably, but they strongly prefer to stick to their one, mainly)
they play local gigs at taverns & such in their town, and they’re always a blast
barbie finds herself loving & craving more of that. she’s obsessed with the feeling of the spotlight sort of on her, the adrenaline from when she’s cranking out this music, feeling the beat in her and causing people such a fun time. it’s the idea of creating that fills her with this joy
barbie saves up and for her graduation gift, her parents help her pay half and half for a new drum set. and this is quite possibly the happiest day of barbie’s life
the 3 of them take a gap year: basketball ken undertakes an internship at a law firm his mom is a partner at, ken is a leader at an equestrian camp, and barbie does some volunteer work at an animal shelter
in between their work, they still meet up and practice. the summer after their gap year is the greatest; they play with a renewed freedom, and let months of repressed musical talent finally bleed again.
they book gig after gig, at some local places for the summer but also branching out to new and nearby towns, just to get a taste
(barbie only seems to get prettier and prettier, and she most definitely has people lining up trying to get her attention. she is so oblivious though, and frankly, just not interested. no one has caught her eye. music is her priority and she’s busy with figuring school out and reworking her job schedule, so she doesn’t have time.)
that is, until, one night at a gig, barbie spots literally the most beautiful girl she has ever seen in the crowd, just before their set
she has these gorgeous big brown eyes that look at her for a second, and it’s enough to have barbie’s heart running wild. she finds herself playing with extra vigor that night, trying extra hard to be at her very best and shine just a little brighter
the kens definitely notice and are hyping her up like crazy after the show
“barbie, holy shit, you KILLED IT!” “where did THAT come from!!!”
turns out the girl is there with allan, ken’s friend. and she’s invited backstage with them
barbie turns to look at her, and the kens immediately know why barbie was so extra sublime that night
her name is gloria, and barbie is like marry me
the kens most definitely tease her immensely following that night. whenever they have an upcoming gig, barbie tries to very subtly and sneakily ask if any of ken’s friends will be there. (if allan will be there again.)
(her sneakiness is to no avail, though, because the kens know she’s asking if gloria will be there again, and they make so much fun of her.)
all barbie can do is blush and hide her face.
(though she does grumble that at least she has girls who have been interested, unlike the two of them.)
yep. that does the job. the kens are pouty messes for the rest of the day.
the next time barbie sees gloria at a show, gloria is wearing this pink flowery band-aid on her finger, from a little cut she received
barbie traces the pad of her finger along the band-aid, while the two of them sit on a couch backstage and talk
(it’s so subtle, her touch, but gloria’s heart is hammering in her chest.)
summer ends, and barbie goes off to school. it’s not too far away, but not close either. and gloria goes to school elsewhere. they definitely keep in touch though, and actually talk and text constantly
they meet up halfway during every possible chance they have. 3 day weekends, spring or winter breaks. you name it.
actually, for spring break, they have a gig. barbie has just turned 21, and they’re going to some bar in the dusty middle of nowhere
it’s an amazing show. gloria is there, so of course it is, for barbie
they buy her a round of shots afterwards, and they stay to dance and play pool
barbie sobers up and is quite hungry, so she and gloria sneak off to get some burgers and a milkshake
it’s nearly 2 in the morning by the time they leave, and the kens are probably wasted, so they decide to buy some cheap clothes to sleep in and find a motel to spend the night in
while gloria gets settled into their room, barbie goes out to get them some waters from the vending machine
when she comes back, she sits on the bed while gloria changes into the pajama shirt
but there’s a mirror … and gloria’s back is right there, with no bra, and barbie can see—
gloria looks up, and the two lock eyes through the mirror, and she knows barbie is looking
barbie flushes a fierce red, looking away quickly and feeling horribly invasive and gross. she gets up briskly and walks over to the bathroom, muttering a ‘sorry’ the whole way there
she shuts herself in, but the door is just barely closed when gloria knocks on it
barbie is shaking, but she opens it. she hasnt even turned the light on, and she is a tall shadow in the doorway
she and gloria stare at each other, for a few moments, the tension palpable
and then gloria pulls barbie down and kisses her
and fucking finally
(is what the kens say. and allan. everyone who knows them, pretty much.)
they start dating and are long distance while they go to school
barbie does this thing where she wears the pink flowery bandaids on her finger, the kind that gloria had on the night they first met
it kinda helps her feel like she is showing off her loyalty. it’s like her version of a promise ring, essentially
she also takes exceptional care of her hands, after gloria tells her how soft they are despite the expected callouses from years of drumming
granted, her right (and dominant) hand is a little more roughened up than her left, but they’re still very soft
(plus that little callousness, that touch of roughness, is delicious on gloria’s belly, trembling and pulled taut, as the softness of barbie’s other hand travels up the inside of gloria’s thigh and in between her legs)
(i mean come on. just because barbie isn’t a guitarist doesn’t mean her fingers aren’t deft and very skilled.)
gloria is a rockstar gf
no seriously like she’s at every one of barbie’s gigs, front row, and barbie dedicates every show to her.
(she kisses the bandaids on her fingers to give herself luck as well.)
barbie turns 22, and ken helps her paint her drum set pink. she also gets pink drumsticks
as a birthday gift, gloria gets barbie this heart shaped locket where she can put any picture in it
(barbie, of course, puts a picture of them kissing in it)

She wanted to be a star,she said that years ago. She loved to imagine it, to think it. But no one told her it would be a hassle to be an entertainer. She was lucky.
Luckey, enough to get this gig at a bar. It was pretty old and was said to be around for centuries, but money was money, and not everyone has the funds to just pay to be famous.
As she was in the backstage room, she was getting herself pretty for the stage, as she looked in the mirror to admire her [h/l] and [h/t] hair, her gorgeous eyes and soft skin, she was perfect and she knew that.
"10 minutes till spotlight," said the manager of the bar. She was a nice old woman, with long beautiful hair. It flowed, she was pretty young looking for her age and she was the sweetest thing ever.
"Thank you, ma'am." I responded, and she smiled and left the room, I opened my purse to see my picture of my gorgeous dog, Daisy. She was a beautiful white pitbull, she was my best friend, and even though she was a dog, she was my best friend. I love her, and I want her to be proud of me.
"Hey babe." Said a familiar voice that broke ne from my thoughts. "Hey, babe." I resopned, it was my best friend since diapers, Travis. "I just came to wish you luck, and you look sadder than a miserable husband. What's wrong?" Damn it. He was able to read me. What else did I expect, though? travis always has his shit together, I'm the train wreak. Well, I'm a cute train wreak anyway...
Before I could answer, it was time for me to get on stage. I stood up, and Travis went to go sit down. As I made my way to the stage, fear and excitement rushed through me as I walked on stage. I heard applause, as the band started I started to sing, but there was a problem.
The corners of the room are looking at me. The gaze hurts, and it burns. It's so blank that it scares me. it's smileing at me, its getting very close in here....

"5 minutes till spotlight"....what? I looked around I was still backstage, holding my purse, I looked up and the manager was there, she looked concerned and left me to be alone without a word. I got up, put ny purse back, and started to go backstage, as I was walking I got a random drive of determination just pop up out of nowhere, I'm gonna use it.
As I walked on stage and I heard applause, I started singing and while u was singing my heart out I noticed something...no, Actually...someone. In the corner. A gentleman, he was fair skinned and what caught my eye is what he was wearing, he was dressed buissness casual. And he wore a smile on his face...ok....fucking creep.
He keeps stareing, and not like in amazement like everyone else in here....it has an intent behind it. I feel uneasy. As I finish my songs I see applause, it feels great, fucking euphoric...but I need to leave, mr. "Lemme stare bitches right into their souls" is fixated on me, we keep making eye contact.
I quickly gather my stuff, tell the owner goodbye, and leave. As I walked to my car, I hurried to unlock it. Once I got in, I felt a little safer. I can breathe. As I started my drive home, I kept seeing a deer, I turned the radio on, it was nothing but buzzing and I had to tune it, some old county song was playing till it abruptly stopped.
"So what was it you seen?" A man said
"(Crying) it was a monster. It had horns , sharp teeth, deer head, oh lord, help me (cries harder). " A woman replies. What happened to the music?
"That ma'am was a wendigo." When the man said that my skin felt weird, out of place. I tried to tune it off but nothing worked.
"Wendigos are hellishly tall."[Tune]
"They crave human flesh."[Tune]
"If you see them, run, or you will crave human flesh."[Tune]
I finally turned it off, I was home anyway. As I pulled up to the apartments, I started to smell something. It was foul, gross, and smelled bloody and metallic. Problibly a dead animal. I parked my car and hopped out. As I was walking toward the lobby, I could still smell the stink. It was 10:15pm, and the reception for the lobby was closed. Now, only residents can get in. I go in the elevator and see the beautiful glowing button, I click the 2nd floor, and I go up. As I was waiting, it felt as if it was going forever. The light can barely stay on.
It's shaking, holy shit, it's shaking. I'm gonna die. This is it. As the elevator was trying not to fail too much. I was crying...I atleast wanna tell Daisy bye..*ding* What..
I opened my eyes to see the elevator, it was still.. and looked brand new and up to date... no flickering light or nothing...
I walked to my apartment and unlocked the door again. As I opened it, I was greeted by my little angle. She wagged her tail and smiled.. This is my reason for living. I locked the door and started to undress for my shower. As I got in, i ravished in the amazingly perfect warm water. It usually needed constant adjustment before it was perfect. As I washed myself, Daisy started to bark. She probably is just hungry, I finished up and stepped out. Ok, she is still barking.
As I ran to her, she stopped barking and started to wag her tail.
"What-What a show, I was quite impressed." I snapped my body around. It was the man from the bar, the one that was in the corner, smiling.
I ran to grab my phone off the counter.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you~" he said
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!"
"I'm the person who can give you everything you ask for. Now fix this silliness or you will miss it."
"Miss, what?"
"Your once in a lifetime opportunity!!"
He smiled even harder than before. He looked at me and held his hand out for me to shake. I need to remain calm. I pushed his hand away and started to ask him questions, such as like 'how did you get in my house' or ' what do you want from me?' He skipped the first one.
"I'm here because i've scented your need for the big lights, and I wanted to help your little predicament, with, of course, a price to pay."
"So you came here for money?"
"Heavens no, I came here to watch your rise, and in return, I want a favor. I have the solution right here. You just have to take it, my dear!"
He pulled a paper out of his pocket, and at the top, it talked about personal management and was signed by AL.
Right below, it was blank space for a signature. I looked at it, and there was no intention to sign it. Why is my arm moving? It's moving toward the pen attached to the paper, and the man had a sadistic smile on his face... and Daisy is quiet.
I looked, and she was shaking in her spot... My baby, her eyes were asking, "What are you doing?"...I don't know, I'm sorry Daisy.
As my arm signed the form for me, that man smiled more. He snapped his fingers, and it disappeared.
"Alastor, quite a pleasure to be meeting you, quite a pleasure. You will be entertaining me for a long, long time."
I woke up in a cold sweat....

Seriously, it’s astonishing how amazing Zombieland Saga is.
The comady? Top tier. How did they all become zombies? You idiot haven't you ever seen a zombie movie? The chick who died in the 90's can only think about how her tamagotchi is dead at first. Their limbs will just pop off and no one suspects a goddamn thing. Tae spends most of her time flailing around making random noises and she's one of the most popular girls in the group. Their manager is the most insane, pathetic motherfucker there ever was.
The music? Impeccable. What style you want? Heavy metal? Got it. Modern pop? Naturally. A rap battle? Yeah it's here. A 1930's New Orleans jazz piece by the Meiji period sex worker? A heart-felt balled from a 12 year old about how much she loves her dad? That same 12 year old doing a scatman-style performance on Japanese American idol?
The drama? Yeah there's drama. This may be a zany comedy idol series but it does not stray away from the fact these girls are dead. They died in some pretty horrific ways. One was beheaded after taking the blame for what was essentially a coup. One had a heart attack after noticing some facial hair (because she's a trans girl who wanted to stay the same forever). One was hit by a truck and cracked her head open after finally getting over years worth of depression only to immediately die.
All of these girls left people behind and we see that impact. We see how Junko feels out of place in the modern era. How Lily deeply misses her father. How Saki has to pretend not to notice how her old friend has grown up and moved on. How her idol has grown up. Knowing that she never will. None of these girls will never change physically beyond what they were at the moment of their death. For some, like Lily, that's a blessing. But for the others, it's something they have to cope with.
When Maimai joins the group for one episode, she learns how Franchouchou is the second chance for these girls, while she's still on her first. So as much as she wanted to join them, she recognizes it isn't her place.
There is so much genuine heart in this show and it makes me truly happy. It's something so special and something I hope comes to be known as one of the anime greats, because it really deserves that title.

"i want this one!" you darted upstairs to be met with two rooms, picking the best one for yourself. whilst catching your breath, you checked out the empty room and started to picture what would go where.
"alright kiddo, which one did you pick out?" your parents walked up the stairs, wheezing a bit due to the tedious exercise. they looked around the room, making sure that it was ample enough for their child. "you sure you like this one, honey?" your mom peeped in your soon to be room, smiling.
"yep!! i already know where everything is gonna go.." you already planned out what goes where. the bed goes in that corner, your desk goes over there, ooh the tv would look great there!! you wanted to get a head start, so you went downstairs to get as many boxes as possible and start assembling your new little space.
"look, teru! we have new neighbors!"
a few days had gone by, you already had the basics of your room down. sure it wasn't all glamoured up yet, but you have a space to sleep and watch your shows, so all was good!
a vague knocking could be heard at the door, but your mind was too busy figuring out how to do this one assignment that always managed to get you stuck. your parents weren't home due to work, so it was up to you to get it. after a few more knocks, you finally snapped out of it and came rushing downstairs without bothering to spruce up your appearance a smidge, thinking it was just the food delivery service.
you opened the door to three beaming, young faces. there seemed to be three siblings, a little girl and two teenage boys. the younger teenager was holding a container of sweets he made all on his own. the elder teen held the little girl's hand and held a small gift bag in the other.
"welcome to the neighborhood!! we are so glad to have you here" they all said in sync as if they'd practiced that greeting for hours. "we are the minamotos, i'm teru, this is kou, and here's-"
"im tiara!!" the young girl interrupted, wanting to take things into her own hands despite literally being held back. you snickered at the cute interruption, taking a step back yourself. "sorry about her, she loves saying her name"
"thank you so much!! ah, im y/n l/n, pleasure to meet you all!" you smiled, charmed.
"how long have you been here? i don't see you at school" teru asked curiously, maybe you two had completely different schedules
"oh i'm actually homeschooled!!"
"is that so?" he placed a finger on his chin, leaning in closer to show his interest. kou started to sense the tension between the two of you. he decided to step in.
"u-uh as a welcome gift, we give you these sweets! we hope you are fond of them" kou handed the sweet treats over to you, his smile bright as ever.
"he baked them himself" teru mentioned. "oh it's nothing!" "oh don't be so modest, kou! his cooking is to die for, you should come over some time to try it" he used his hand to whisper this sacred information to you, the closeness between you two making your cheeks go a bit warm. he then realized how close you two were, backing up immediately.
"i can't thank you enough! they look marvelous, i'll definitely be snacking on them when i study hehe" you improvised the tension between you and the tall, charming teen.
from that moment on, you two have been noticing each other from each other's windows. whether it was you studying, teru finishing up extra student council work, or just simply admiring each other, your eyes always managed to wander off to hopefully catch a glance at his frosty blue ones.
day by day, he has noticed more things about you. due to complicated schedules with school and exorcist training, poor thing hasn't had the chance to properly get to know you. but that wouldn't be much of a problem soon.
anytime that he would be working on something in his room late at night, he would hear a charming melody. it was like no other, he could practically taste how sweet it was no matter how muffled it was. it always managed to put him at ease. he didn't know where it came from, shoot he thought that the melody popped up in his head out of the blue. but why? he's not one for composing music. he always saw your light on but never put two and two together, it just never came to mind.
weeks went by and eventually he got to meet the face of those angelic hands. he needed some fresh air, quite frankly he needed to stretch as well. being crouched over like a shrimp all night won't do you well as the school's prince!
to his surprise, a familiar face was also catching some fresh air from the cool breeze outside your cozy room. it was well needed after practicing that scale for hours, shoot your fingers started to cramp up! rubbing your sore fingers, you looked around the atmosphere. you actually never got the chance to properly look outside your window. it was always just a quick glance or trying to tell what the weather was like outside, then again you just gave up and checked on your phone.
two sets of eyes have officially locked, their blinking came to a short pause and was set aside. clearly holding the contact was far more important to these two souls. it all began there, a source of comfort and warmth blossomed between these two young soon-to-be lovers.
meet ups were being set up, snacks at sleepovers, studying, helping out, whatever put him at ease helped him. in reality you were the one who put him at ease. a break from being perfect all the time. just what he needed, and that little tune you play on the piano still roams around his head like a parasite. he loves you dearly, dear.

Winter 2024- What I Finished
So as this anime season is coming to an end. Here are the shows I actually kept up with and overall enjoyed immensely.
There will be spoilers so be warned lol
The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
I have enjoyed this series, the way Rentt is so determined to become a mithril-class adventurer even as an undead. The 3D models for the fight scenes move pretty well with the background matching them, especially in episode 9. This series is a slow-burn, even with the story progression, but I appreciate it because we see so much character growth for Rentt and how he interacts with the people and his friends. The music is fairly average for the series, but it does have some good moments especially when Rentt is in thought or making a choice. I loved coming full circle and him regaining his "human" features even though he still is very much a vampire now. Shun Narita, the composer for the series had some standout moments (fight scenes and contemplativeness) of music throughout the season so hats off to him.
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
I fell in love with the humor of this series from the get-go and not a single episode is a disappointment. It is so full of life and this past week for episode 11, the line " Now that's the wrong way to use healing magic" was used in a perfect moment. The lead up of Usato's characters growth and seeing all his hard work and "torture" from Commander Rose's training *actually* matter was brilliant. Element Garden has done a great job with the music that just gets your blood pumping. Probably will make a separate post for this series once it's over.
A Sign of Affection
The shoujo everyone is talking about, FOR GOOD REASON. To see the romance between the leads develop was so satisfying and wholesome. The development of the side characters so far is handled well, and at times the flashbacks scenes take over an episode but they are necessary. The art style and the use of lighting are done so well. It was a very cute show and always will love seeing an adult romance.
Solo Leveling
What can I say that hasn't been said already? I started reading the manwha in 2019 and have reread many times since. Hiroyuki Sawano was a great choice and the soundtrack WILL be on loop once it's released fully. Smart pacing choices to have it end with him gaining a job, this week will be a blast of an episode. Wish it had been slotted for 24 episodes... The last two episodes KILLED it, the animation, the music?! I was on cloud nine.
Mr. Villains Day Off
A perfect wholesome background anime, that is just about a Villian who loves pandas on his days off. The episodes where they focus on the Rangers aren't super interesting and makes you question the ethics of the world? It's a very cute show and sometimes, it's just a need in life. Ending was split between resolving the previous episode and the lead up to the Rangers and the Villian's battle.
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
The Isekai'd into an Otome game genre is SO saturated but somehow I ended up loving this show. Yumielle is so autistic coded and straightforward, no one quite knows how to react to her. Patrick is head over heels for her, not that she ever notices, and they're dynamic is adorable. I have laughed watching this show and the only reincarnation anime that didn't bog me down with guessable plot.
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!
I fell so hard for this anime that I binge read the manga...who's art is definitely butchered in the adaption, it's so wholesome but the way episode 11 ends off MY GOD the miscommunication hurts me, and people will definitely riot watching the finale...and then picking up the manga to suffer for 40 chapters...BUT it's worth it. Tsubasa and Fuyuki all the way, they're chemistry is the best in the show as they each influence each other to open up, to be serious about the future and to help themselves grow as people. So sad to see this show go but maybe we'll get another season?
Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
This anime has me kicking my feet in joy and makes me miss my long-distance partner so fucking much. When Kurosawa and Adachi kissed? I was whooping in happiness. Adachi has a lot of room to grow with his communication with Kurosawa but pretty sure the final manga cover is a wedding outfit? My poor notes app I use to write my thoughts/observations as I watch seasonal anime is " SO GAY. KISS PLEASE." for several episodes between them. I loved that the end credits was the wedding but I can't wait to read the manga to compare it!
Gushing Over Magical Girls
I'm not one to watch ecchi shows but this, THIS is just such a delight to watch. Utena is such a loveable protagonist, a magical girl loving person who gets turned into a villain and has to "fight" the girls she loves. By fighting its not LMAO. I adore all the characters in this show and how fresh the writing for them is. Its beautifully animated and the finale was so much fun to watch!
Mashle S2 - Divine Visionary Arc
I picked up the first volume at the bookstore halfway through the season to try reading, after Bling-Bang-Bang-Born blew up, and I was not disappointed. Binged Season 1 and caught up in a day. There's just something so satisfying with gag humor and shounen fight scenes. I love everyone (besides for Innocent Zero, fuck that guy) and will for sure be binge reading the manga. The music, as always, is so hype and having rap for the fight scenes is very interesting. The soundtrack for S2 just released yesterday and has some amazing tracks on it.
Shangria-La Frontier
What. An. Amazing. Show. Never thought I'd like a VR Gaming anime as much as I do now, but this was just so vibrant and humorous. Sunraku's tenacity at gaming and taking on challenges, plus my love for rogue/assassin builds from DND, made him such a likeable character. The entire Weathermon fight to be slotted for 4 episodes was just..gorgeous and stunning. The Music?!? God its perfection. The NPC's of Rabitzu... to have characters and just to not be weird was very much appreciated to me. I sincerely wish it had the fandom that other Fall 2023 shows, cough cough Frieren, Undead Unluck and Apothecary Diaries, has because I just want more merch sobs. The cosplans I have for this show? Too many, and its already in production for another 2 cour season for this fall!!
The Apothecary Diaries
What a spectacular show and fabulous 24 episodes. The animation, the music (Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Pinken, Alisa Okehazma), the characters, the backgrounds?! I enjoyed watching the characters interact and loved the humor in the animation. I also just read and caught up with the manga in 2 days...so it's that good and a worthwhile watch and read!

The Boy in the Iceberg
58 seconds in and I can already see why people say this show is gorgeous. Look at those colours! Although the double image around some of the line art is distracting.
Can water do that? Just have random fast currents in an otherwise pretty still ocean? Also, Catara couldn't have grabbed a spare paddle and helped? Actually they seemed screwed anyway. If they were going any faster they probably would have landed harder, or not on ice at all.
Judging by Sokka's lack of reaction to Catara's temper tantrum, I'd say she has that exact rant at least three times a week.
It's a face!
Maybe the giant orb created the current to summon them there?
Catara has no self-preservation instincts at all. Giant glowy orb washed up in front of you, don't poke it!
Tiger seals.
Solitaire. Neat.
That haircut is not good. Also a very unique choice for a voice. Wait this is Zuko? The guy everyone's obsessed with?
I love Appa already.
"this is Catara, my flying sister." A man after my own heart.
They really would have been stuck without Aang to offer a ride. What was their plan to get home?
Zuko is a prince? Hunting the avatar to reclaim his honour. Not sure how those two go together but ok. I guess 100 years ago the avatar stole a time-travelling Zuko's honour.
Appa can swim through the night? Why does he have six legs?
I didn't know this was a dream sequence at first and I was wondering where Sokka and Catara were. For future reference: dreams are brown.
Aang should have frozen to death by now. That's nowhere near enough clothes. And Catara can't be only just noticing the blue lines now.
Seems like the village has hit a rough patch.
If this is how catara reacts to a bald child, she's gonna spontaneously combust the first time she meets a teenage boy who isn't her brother. And how is an air bender going to teach her water bending?
Between the Appa snot and the watchtower gag, I sense Sokka will become the butt of many jokes.
You know, if you want him to actually learn, maybe tell him what he did wrong rather than reciting philosophical stuff and then shooting fire at his face? His presumably scarred face? Scarred presumably by fire? Kudos to Zuko for not flinching.
Is there a stick in Zuko's hair that's supporting it upright or does his hair just do that? Does Zuko have Pippi Longstocking hair? Speaking of hair, why does Catara have her hair like that? Surely that gets in the way of seeing stuff? It does look good when her hood is up though.
Good sneaky exposition dump Zuko. Didn't notice it until I thought about it after.
There's something hilarious yet tragic about Sokka spouting the wartime equivalent of live laugh love quotes and losing the battle with potty breaks. He has no idea what he's talking about but he believes in what he's saying so much.
Did Aang spend an hour in there?!?
So pretty.
Appa has six legs and penguins have four wings. Is the rule in this show that animals have 50% more appendages?
Last airbender smothered by penguins, more at 11.
"I haven't done this since I was a kid!" "You still are a kid!" That line feels like something that's going to come back.
Was the whole 'being a bender is showing no fear' or however that line went actually about bending, or do you really just want to explore the ship, Aang?
Gerbils at the south pole?
Would the fire nation send people back to rig a lost ship or are all fire nation ships rigged at all times and the crews are just used to working around the traps? Actually that would be a great way to catch spies.
I would jump to brain-damage induced amnesia from being trapped in an iceberg for a few hours before I'd ever think of a century long cryo-sleep. "it's the only explanation." Really?
All of these backgrounds are so pretty.
Air bending gets you some serious air. Those hops are stupid big, even accounting for cartoon physics.
I really like the end credits music. And according to the credits, I've been mispelling Katara's name this whole time.
Some final thoughts:
Katara (with a K) is too idealistic and trusting and Sokka is too cynical and suspicious. A perfect sibling pair. Also I love Sokka's sense of humour.
I like Aang's specific flavour of goofiness. He seems secure in himself and genuine. He has attention issues though.
Appa is a sea bison actually. Common misconception.
I like that they introduce the antagonist like 10 minutes into the first episode, but they're going to have to flesh him out way more before I read Zuko as anything other than an asshole. Also the voice is going to take a while to get used to. It's not that it doesn't fit the character design, it's just that I've never heard an actual human talk like that naturally. It's kind of muppet-like. Maybe he damaged his throat when he got that scar?
The voice acting is just superb. Even single lines like Gran Gran have distinct character. I did have to rewind a couple of times to catch what the old man with Zuko was saying.
The shading on the snow, the clouds and the skies, it's all so beautiful. You could watch this episode on mute and still be satisfied.
Katara is the only waterbender in the whole south pole, Sokka is the only man in the whole village, and Aang is the only air bender in the whole world. Gonna be a lot of lonely kids in this show. I sense a theme. I bet Appa is the only sea bison too.
Sokka is my favourite so far, but I think Aang is going to grow on me. Katara is a little bit too much of a Little Sister (TM) and Zuko just feels flat. But that just means more room to grow for both of them as characters. Of course Appa reigns supreme. I hope there's more of him in the next episode.
Even though this was half of a two-part episode, the cut off didn't feel abrupt. Maybe not a full self-contained story, but they left off at a perfect place.
Rereading this before posting, I asked a lot of quetsions. That's good! So many hooks to get me into the show, all in the first episode. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Archipelago Academy
Here are some modern headcanons I have for the younger Dragons characters (including the Defenders because they're fun. I don't actually they are young enough to be in high school with the others. Looking at you, Mala👀)
Hiccup: He's the geek for a while. He's still not athletic and gets picked on for that and absolutely hating gym. As a student, he's pretty good. Lots of As and maybe a few high Bs depending on the subject. (He'd do better if he didn't daydream so much and he's not acing any music class. Might be get a pity D). When he finds out he's really good with exotic animals, he starts getting popular and that's when more people realize that he's also a lot of fun, a nice type of sarcastic, and gutsy. He's probably in a chess club before he starts his own that's about unique creatures.
Astrid: She's popular, but she's a little bit of the mean popular type. It's not that she actually is bullying anyone, but everyone knows she's tough and most think she's unapproachable. She's one of the top athletes and is captain on just about every team for the girls. If she's on the team, she's the captain. She doesn't have time for clubs since she's at practice a lot. She's a strong student who gets mad if there's ever a B in her report card, so she works really hard to balance physical and mental sides of school. Afterschool, she'll take some time to hang out with her friends.
Fishlegs: The nerd. We all knew this was coming. He's getting A+ every time (respectable) except in gym. He has the skills, but he's too scared to really have the aggression he needs unless he's just pushed to the edge. Then, maybe he finally wins dodge ball. Aside from that, he's part of the mathletes, is in charge of a book club, is in the chess club too, and enjoys volunteering in his spare time. He sits with Hiccup the most often at lunch.
Snotlout: The jock of course. He's basically the boy Astrid in how he's the captain for all the other sports teams. He'll talk badly about the girls until they had an unofficial game and they wipe the floor with his group. Then, he'll give Astrid the credit she deserves. When his dad gets in his head, he acts like the school bully. When he's able to just be himself, he isn't afraid to not sit with the popular crowd and will actually just eat with his buddies. Still, he values his status in school and doesn't want to ever lose a real game since he takes that to heart. His grades are pretty bad, but it's due to him spending so much time at practice and training. He has no clubs and basically no life outside of this because of Spitelout being an overbearing and sucky dad.
Ruffnut and Tuffnut: They're the class clowns. Their grades are constantly as low as possible without actually flunking because they secretly could do great, but they want to annoy teachers. They're the epitome of using their energy in the wrong ways. Undercover geniuses who'd rather find the best method for making stink bombs. Every chance they get, they're pranking some student or teacher. You'll find them at the front of the class just so they can irritate the poor instructor more with questions they already know the answer to. They're not in sports because no one will let them involve boars, so they're not interested. They're only in clubs started by their friends. They also have a YouTube channel where they do dangerous stunts.
Throk: He's another jock, but I think he'd become a coach's assistant. He takes his studies very seriously and offers tutoring, but he intimidates most of the younger kids, so he never gets many pupils. Snotlout might alternate between getting tutored by him and Fishy, but that's about it. Teachers love him because he's great with authority figures and is always trying to get the others back in line. This leads to him getting verbally picked on a bit by those in his grade since they think he's a teacher's pet. No one invites him to parties, but his friends make sure he never feels excluded in things they do.
Heather: She's in some of the teams with Astrid, but she doesn't do as many. She does soccer and more of the graceful activities like ballet and gymnastics. She's a pretty good student and also does some tutoring, but not for Snotlout since he wouldn't stop flirting last time (even though he apologized). She's known as the sweet girl in school and is pretty popular because of that. Her fiery side comes out on the soccer field. She can get obsessed with projects and will normally be asked to help set up events for the school, which she takes very seriously. She's not one for parties, but sometimes, her friends talk her into them and she has a fun time solely because of them.
Mala: She's the class president and basically right under the principal. Because of that, some students are terrified of her. She's a no-nonsense person, but she's more fair than most give her credit for being. She tries to help the students who are struggling and keeps an eye out for anyone who looks like they're being mistreated. She's an excellent student and cannot fathom receiving less than 100% on assignments. She wants to join some teams, but she has too much time that she spends caring for injured and sick animals. She also volunteers at soup kitchens, but only her friends know this. Other people think she's a bit cold, but her friends help her reputation change.
Dagur: He's the one most of the students really try to avoid. They are horrified with the idea of being alone with him. Somehow, he's always getting into trouble. He isn't always trying to cause trouble, but it keeps happening. Despite what everyone thinks, he's actually a really good student because he thinks good grades will give his family something to be proud of him for. So, he's the only A student who's always in detention. He's normally in a fight and is the person bullies are scared of since he doesn't tolerate that being directed towards his friends. This put Snotlout in his line of fire for a while, but they're cool now. They were very not cool when Snotlout flirted with Heather, but a few death glares later and they're buds again. He's in no sports teams because he got banned after tackling someone in basketball and not stopping when his wrestling opponent tried to tap out (he misunderstood the rules). He's in his friends' clubs and winds up starting one of his own for the other troubled kids.

Things I LOVED About Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerTraum & Little Goody Two Shoes (as a long-time series fan)
AKA, the long-awaited positivity post.
This is a direct follow-up to my posts "The (few) Things I Didn't Like About Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerTraum" and "My (few) Issues With Little Goody Two Shoes"
Those posts trended very negative because, well, lists of complaints are inherently negative. However, despite my (honestly, kinda nitpicky) complaints, I do want to show that I still adore these games. And thus, I will be giving my list of things I think GoldenerTraum and LGTS did right.
Well, to be fair, these games did most things right. But I'll pick the ones I think stand out the most.
This post contains spoilers, as always. Rant below the cut.
Part 1 - GoldenerTraum
-The new lore introduced in this game, alongside the entirely new ending, are just great. Really solid ways to expand the section of canon that Pocket Mirror focuses on without changing the game very much.
-I love the convenience factor of this game versus the original. Less clunky required menu openings, less instances of "what do I need to examine to progress," and just generally smoother gameplay.
-I can't do this without mentioning the graphics. Complete and utter upgrade in every way. The original always looked great, but now looking back on it, its definitely not as polished as the modern style.
-(I know this is a positivity post, but I do wanna say I prefer the original Lisette sprite. I love the new one as well, but I think the new "heavy frills and detailed wrinkles" artstyle, while it generally works for the period and wealth the game is set around, doesn't fit Lisette.)
-Back to positivity now, the higher resolution theaters are really good. I originally wished they'd be changed/reanimated, but that was a mistake on my end. After all, why mess with perfection?
-GoldenerTraum and the accompanying anime opening are amazing. Full stop. Best intro to maybe any game ever. Everblooming Wild Rose Coronation is also great. (Though if I were to be fully honest, I kinda wish it only played after the Dawn ending instead of every ending. But that's a nitpick.)
-The removal of the bloat in the prologue is very much appreciated. On replays, the dance hall area feels very drawn out and unimportant, and generally a slog to go through. While I still don't like replaying this section, it is MUCH more bearable with the excess meat chopped off. It always felt like filler, anyway.
-The CGs that were updated look much nicer. No elaboration on this one, that's where my thought ends.
-Actually, yes elaboration. This is about the CG of Lisette coming out of the mirror before her first chase. The redraw is so pretty. I love Lisette <3.
-Improved visibility in many dark areas makes me a very happy person. While it maybe does remove some of the tension and atmosphere, it makes the game more accessible for new players who now won't need to feel around in the dark for ten minutes to find the candle in the Sugary Supper area, or whatever.
-Henri sprite.
-Finally, and I want to loop back to the character sprites, I love how they give an option to return to the original sprites. I love when remakes/remasters have some kind of "nostalgia mode" so that the original versions of things aren't lost.
Part 2 - Little Goody Two Shoes
-Music is great. I still prefer Pocket Mirror's OST, but holy hell some of the tracks in this game get lodged in my brain sometimes.
-Art is fantastic. I love the CGs, so many of them are so detailed and pretty. I might set some of them as my computer backgrounds, that's how good they are.
-Speaking of, the sprites are really good. I love some of Elise and Rozenmarine's sprites, especially.
-Strange Boy finally getting a name is nice. Now I don't need to call him Strange Boy. (I will still call him Strange Boy.)

-In general the environments are beautiful. One of the few ways this game is a straight step-up from Pocket Mirror. The tiny waterfall in the river looks so pretty, especially during the day. And that's just one example of an environmental piece that really stood out.
-I want to praise Thursday Witching Hour, or as I called it in my last post, "the only one that's better than bearable." It is a genuinely tense section, and scarier than anything in Pocket Mirror. It was the only thing in either game to really make me aware that this is a horror series.
-I do generally like the mechanics of hunger/money management, and the minigames are fun (except Kiss the Rat.) The intense effort that must've been put into the art and design of these short games you only play to make money was not lost on me.
-The characters are charming (exceptmuffy), about on par with Pocket Mirror's believe it or not. Rozenmarine is the only one I can speak heavily on, since her endings are the only routes I've done, but she's so cute and I love her. Freya also seems very great, which is why I have her route lined up to do next. Elise herself is also much different from how I assumed, but I love her as a protagonist.
-The sheer amount of lore this game introduces, from how Elise's deal with Strange Boy went down, to how the Pocket Mirror made it into Goldia's hands in the first place, is downright amazing for a lore nerd like myself.
-While this game didn't make me as emotional as Pocket Mirror does at any point (both of Lisette's endings still make me sob like a baby,) I did feel pretty empty inside after sacrificing Rozenmarine during the "canon" ending. And games that put me into a literal depressive episode after finishing are the ones I remember the most and love the most.
-The sheer amount of endings does give this game good replay value. Of course, that is undercut by... literally the dozen things I mentioned in my last post, but it does give me reason to stick it out.
-The fact that even the background characters have consistent personalities is nice. I love when games pay that close attention to detail. Though I will say that most of the ones without large-scale speaking sprites did kinda blend together into one person in my head, and in some cases they may as well have been one person. But on my next playthrough, I'll definitely take the time to pay attention to who says what lines, rather than just skimming the text itself.
-The dates are really cute, especially the associated scenes. You do not know the scream I let out when Rozenmarine finally dropped the L-bomb on Elise. That scene was adorable, despite being undercut by my constant (and later proven correct) dread of her dying painfully soon.
-Seriously, just the fact that you are playing as a lesbian is great. I can't think of many games, other than ones explicitly marketed as "yuri romance" or "lesbian dating sim" that have this kind of casual representation. It warms my heart a lot to see it not fall to the pitfalls of "has to be a visual novel or dating sim" or "only hinted-at representation."
-My final compliment for now, I adore Rozenmarine in general. I'm a very character-focused person, and I now have a new character to rotate and hyper-fixate on in my mind.
Part 3 - Outro
I love these games. A lot. I don't want to ever give the impression of "GoldenerTraum is a bad remake" or "LGTS isn't a good sequel" because those things aren't true. Despite my complaints, my opinions on these games are 90% positive.
All of this to say... I'm not falling out of love with this series. While the original Pocket Mirror holds a special place in my heart as "maybe the best thing Astral Shift has ever made," I still love their newest projects all the same. And nostalgia plays a big part in that place it has in my heart.
I love you, Pocket Mirror. And I love you, Little Goody Two Shoes.

What kind of wishes would the other 6 teens make in KOW? I know Simon wished to be a knight, what about everyone else?
Honestly that’s a though one, but let’s see
Gabo as he mentioned in the story itself would wish for a lot of riches and gold, but that desire only stems from his longing to be respected and taken seriously, money can get people to pay attention to you, and that’s all Gabo wants, attention. But since he accidentally said his wish out loud to his friends I’d say he’d change his wish to just “be taken seriously”, to which the king would probably twist into people actually taking offense in his sarcastic jokes which would lead to him being all alone.
(Starting good with some Gabo angst, nice)
Next up, Dahlia. Since her parents became the royal cooks they never payed too much attention to her anymore, and Dahlia wanted to make them proud, so I’m guessing (I say “I’m guessing” like I’m not the one making this up) her wish would be to get more connected with them. Magnifico would probably just think that wish’s boring and not find any way to twist it into something fun for him, so he’d just leave it ungraded, making Dahlia forget she ever wanted to be close to her parents in the first place, thus their whole family just becomes detached from each other.
Let’s see who next… hmmmm
Bazeema would most likely wish to make Rosas prettier with more flowers, that’s kind of her own way of bringing joy to others but in a way she doesn’t have to interact with anyone, she’d basically just wish to be a better at gardening, and of course making the kingdom prettier is always a plus in Magnifico’s book so he’d grant that wish just as is, no reason to change it. Congrats Bazeema you get no angst in your story cause I’m picking favorites
Safi would wish for a pet that doesn’t make him sneeze, since every single animal he ever encounters, cats, dogs, birds and even Valentino triggers his allergies, so he’d just want to have an animal friend, maybe a chicken… I don’t know how Mag would react to this one, like it’s so simple, and I can’t think of any way he could twist it into something bad, so eh guess he’d grant it too, why not
Dang so far only Gabo got his wish turned into a curse, let’s change that
Hal would wish to be a fearless acrobat, like those who pull some amazing stunts that defy physics and put their bodies to the extreme, yeah like that, she wished to do that for the fun and the freedom that it provides and to put a smile on people’s faces. Magnifico would go ahead and curse that wish to make Hal so “fearless” she doesn’t worry about her own limits, after all he’d indeed enjoy having an amazing acrobat as one of the royals entertainers, but where’s the fun if she requires time to rest or fears she might get injured? So yeah she’d get her wish slightly changed so she takes her passion more to the extreme
And finally, Dario. Dario is a complicated one since, the way I see him, he’s content with pretty much everything, aside from the fact his parents would like him to be able to speak, but even then I don’t think he’d wish for the king to give him a voice, as that’s not really something he wants, his friends already understand him, although most other people don’t. However, music is an universal language that brings joy to everyone, so Dario would wish to be a great drummer (even though drums sets didn’t exist back then lol maybe he’d be the first) and Magnifico would probably grant it as is.
I know in these examples Mag granted most of the wishes without changing them but keep in mind that’s still bad since once people have their wishes granted they feel like they owe loyalty to him and also feel more dependent on him.

Post-Series Finale HCs: The Owl House (Spoiler!)
(From days to weeks) Right after;
—Raine spends time between recovering and pitching ideas to rebuild the Isles, reconnecting with Eda. They find out what music range the Owl Beast spirit cannot handle to avoid making their girlfriend (later wife) go deaf. Happiest they have been in years since the breakup.
—To limited degree, witches can use magic outside their coven sigil now. The sigils cannot completely block other magic-types only just restrict it. Biles sacks are pretty fragile though.
—Several cults/religions tried to start up once people learned King was a living Titan. Eda shut them down before they could get established—the Collector has a few cults too.
—Hooty helps Lilith practice her own Harpy form. Has to catch her several times as the other half of Owl Beast is less sentient(?) than Eda’s own curse. It grows to be a Raven. He finds being in his “Porta-Hooty” mode to be more fun since he can hang out with Lily.
—Alador spends time catching up with his kids. He likes to study how various beasts and animal species are adapting to the raised left arm. (If the Abomination track wasn’t expected of his family, he would have joined the Beast track.)
—Luz does, in fact, keep a portion of her Titan form’s power. Being in direct contact with such immense power has left its mark. She has fangs and magic will spark off her fingers whenever she holds Stringbean. Her shouts are loud!
—The decision to tear down the ruins of Belos’ castle is pretty unanimous. They find several thousands of snails hidden away, remains of the Grimwalkers, and old wild magic texts.
—So much rebuilding to be done. Not just buildings but the entire infrastructure of the Boiling Isles. People outside the main cast wonder what in the realm happened for everything to crazy during the Day of Unity.
—Hunter does some soul-searching in between joint custody of the Nocedas, Clawthornes, Parks, and Darius (plus Eber). There is a lot to unpack in his life after everything that went down. He ponders what being a Grimwwalker means, processes Flapjack’s passing, and what he is going to do going forward. The poor boy is traumatized to high heaven being raised under Belos/child soldier/clone of Caleb Clawthorne.
(Yes. I headcanon that Caleb took Evelyn’s last name or they refer to him by that after finding out what his brother did.)
—Eda jokes about Hunter technically being her and Lillith’s however-many-greats-grandfather.
—Wrath has to go through a redemption arc. Seriously! He sees how much Braxas missed him and begrudgingly accepts that the coven system was wrong. It takes a few years though.
—The Collector does not go straight back to the siblings who left him alone. This idea is argued for by the main cast who want them to spend time being a kid. King begs him to stay.
(I do not know how to write pronouns for a person who has He/him and They/them).
—On a side note, everyone who was ever mean to King is now genuinely terrified of him. :)
—People wonder why the Titan’s left arm is stretched out toward the sky. Even Luz does...
Four Years Later;
—The concept of carving a palistrum egg has boomed in popularity. Stringbean inspired many people to respect Palismen as individuals.
—Cultural trade between the Boiling Isles and Earth is still tentative. Unfortunately, Andrias’ invasion made humans wary of other realms. (We know ToH and Amphibia share a universe due to easter eggs. Might as well capitalize~)
—Gus secretly eats movie DVDs. He knows that they are supposed to be watched but they taste good. He will eat some on his lunch breaks.
—A president/representative has been put in charge of the Boiling Isles. Democracy is still new so there are a few kinks to work out. Each town has a few spokespeople for them to really give everyone a voice in how things are run.
—Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, Eda, King, Lillith, Raine, and the others are still the main celebrities on the island. Their popularity has finally died down from fan-worship levels much to their relief (Raine, Hunter, & King mainly).
—King keeps discovering glyph types outside his parent/father’s elemental ones. The combo testing can get a little crazy since this is his new magic language! He is really excited to learn it.
—Funnily enough, future students of Eda’s have visited using the time pools. They never say anything too revealing about the future but the subtle picture they paint is chaotic.
—The Basilisks help the Unversity of Wild Magic keep from burning down/freezing/exploding/imploding/getting damaged by wild studies.
—Willow acts as a motivational speaker for young witches and demons in the Flyer Derby off-season. The still-new freedom of magic can be overwhelming in sheer choices to the kids.
—Camila can only handle a certain amount of the Boiling Isles’ otherness. She loves that her first kid found such an accepting second home, really she does! But it is still a lot to take in...
—The Collector took care of the Titantrappers years ago. Only the youngest members are more open to interacting with King.
—Eda still finds it ironic she became a teacher.
—Amity spends her days exploring the world, though she is always a call away from Luz and her friends. She did not expect to fall in love with exploring different Titan-civilizations.
—Viney has interned under Camila to learn about Earth animals. The difference in biology between the two realms plays a part in how she judges treating pets at her mythical pet clinic. Some species react adversely to magic being used on them which she learns cause of it.
—Hunter gives each past Golden Guard a name based on what little he could find about their personalities. He still sees their ghosts but in a “guardian angel” way. Is for sure dating Willow.
...It. It took a while for him to carve Waffles.

The following contains only the aftermath of the gacha and me being real chatty about the way characters look + expectations, so if you're looking for commentary of the story, please refer to Part II!
Hortus de Escapismo is on the horizon and Dr. Lundi is a radiant and unavoidable ball of excitement during the pulls. How could she NOT be??? Six months of saving, an ungodly ammount of pulls and a surprising eagerness of Executor to arrive home later (i.e. the fact out of eight 6*, only two were strangers).
Speaking of strangers, an obscure horse wandered into the pulls to remind her that he's still her number one husband and Executor comes second.
Most likely because to summon Federico she changed Mlynar on her homescreen to Executor normal version and he got a little worried, the old man.
Among the 4 Doctors there's always 7 pots of each Elite, so it's no wonder the other one went to Dr. Pinkie before pity, which pretty much concluded our pulls. I don't know what happened to Dr. Kryo, but I personally didn't pull because Hoederererer is on the horizon four months from now and I am BEHIND because of Silverash Kernels.
Fastest character build ever in the world. I think maxing out characters ASMRs have to exist. It's so nice to see it happen so fast. Aesthetically pleasing, complete and right.
But since I'm giving statements that are already unrequested, I just want to say that Executor is not my type. I don't like stiffly blunt and I am also on the side of Sarkaz, so just Sanktas in general are a little... off for me. Except Enforcer, Enforcer is my baby and I would kill for him.
Go on, TRY and convince me this isn't one of the coolest arts ever. I need old 6* characters to get a revamp on their E2 art, because compared to this few can truly compare. God is behind him, holding the scythe, the statue is half a robot for whatever reason???? And it's so cool???
Not to mention that he looks exactly the same face-wise versus his E0 art, which cannot be said about, I don't know, SilverAsh, who looks like he was born in a wet cardboard box all alone in an alley.
His token is also so so so so cute, I don't know what the overall experience with listening to him talking into your ear feels like, but just-- just read this:
'A wireless earpiece. The latest of the Lateran Curia's tech products, and the same model that Executor himself currently uses. Is he giving this to you so you can stay in contact with him at any time, perhaps?'

Cutie patootie.
Base skill not all that impressive. For some reason while looking into it Dr. Pinkie expressed surprise, because she couldn't find any other operator who gives productivity for EXP cards, but by complete accident I saw FEater is another one.
Insider's splash looks great, he's the embodyment of that one weirdo who always gets in trouble for some reason. Might be the spiky hair. Might be the army of pigeons following him.
Their voice actors are amazing so far as I heard, so we wait and see what he's like personality wise.

I should have known better than to say I would get to the episode wrap-up “tomorrow” when I knew darn well I had back to back D&D games and an FF14 stream all weekend.
But taking an extra day did give me a chance to rewatch the episode and collect my thoughts. All in all, this was an incredibly strong finale! My only real complaint about it is that Luz’s friends didn’t get to do much. They gave Luz some words of encouragement, and started taking the people off of their shelves in the Archives, and that’s about it. I was expecting them to start reviving people and raising an army to help fight Belos, but I suppose that would have added even more time to this already packed finale.
The Collector had a great character arc. They were always more ignorant of their actions than evil, and it’s clear that they still have a lot to learn, even though they’ve started down the right path. I know a few people were expecting the Collector to turn into an irredeemably evil villain, which always seemed weird to me given his nature. But there is good news for those people because they have a version of that character with the unseen Archivists.
It’s pretty clear that the Archivists are the real villains of the Collector race. They were responsible for wiping out the titans, and they allowed the Collector to take the fall for their actions. Dana says there are currently no plans to continue the show, but if she and Disney ever do agree on a revival, the Archivists have been set up as a potential new BBEG for any future storylines. That, along with the joke about a spin-off for Eda and Lily’s school days means that this franchise definitely has a couple of doors open if Disney realizes their mistake in canceling the show.
Speaking of BBEGs, Belos has been a fantastic villain. The Owl House has always had some influence from FMA, and much like the final villain of that manga, Belos dies having been broken and beaten both physically and philosophically and while showing not even a hint of remorse.
It almost seems like he might have a moment of self-reflection as he calls Luz, “Just as evil, manipulative, and unforgivable... as those witches,” but the sheer irony of that line sails right over his head. I’ve seen some theorizing that Luz might have summoned the rain that destroyed Belos with her titan powers, but I like to imagine that Papa Titan did it right before leaving this world forever. One last kick in the teeth after fighting Belos from beyond the grave for centuries.
Luz is still amazing, and her Titan form is freaking sweet. There’s something pretty significant about the fact that Belos and Luz both draw their power from the same place in the final battle. Belos stole the titan’s power and used it to turn himself into a physical disease spreading across the land. Whereas Luz was given the same power freely, and used it as a pure expression of magic.
Although Luz lost her glyph magic, it’s clear that her days of magical training are far from over thanks to String Bean and King’s burgeoning power. There has always been a bit of subtext of Luz being a special needs student. She can’t learn to do magic the same way other witches can, and so has always had to find her own way of doing things, and that process will continue into her college years.
And on that topic, the epilogue chapter of this episode was fantastic. Beautifully animated and set to beautiful music (in fact, all of the music in this episode was excellent). It gave us just enough of a glimpse into the future to see where all of these characters are as they grow up.
I saw somebody point out the irony that all of the queer couples get hard confirmations in the finale, but the one straight couple, Huntlow, is left somewhat ambiguous. There are certainly implications with the way they act, but there are no undeniable facts like a kiss or a pair of wedding rings. It’s a perfect reversal of the usual situation where queer ships are given a little bit of ambiguity just in case the homophobes get mad. I don’t know if that was the intention, but it is hilarious if it was. (And come on, Hunter and Willow are totally a couple, just look at them lol)
Like I said earlier, the door is open for this series to come back some day in the future. Disney has reportedly been surprised by the success of this season, and there are a couple of plot hooks out there for a follow-up series, but all in all this was a fantastic sendoff to a show that was cut short!
