“Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.”

Franz Kafka is Dead
He died in a tree from which he wouldn't come down. "Come down!" they cried to him. "Come down! Come down!" Silence filled the night, and the night filled the silence, while they waited for Kafka to speak. "I can't," he finally said, with a note of wistfulness. "Why?" they cried. Stars spilled across the black sky. "Because then you'll stop asking for me."
1. ‘Achilles Come Down’ by Gang of Youths
2. “All the bright places(2020)”, dir. Brett Haley, adaptation of the book by Jennifer Niven

II
Finally will it not be enough,
after much living, after
much love, after much dying
of those you have loved,
to sit on the porch near sundown
with your eyes simply open,
watching the wind shape the clouds
into the shapes of clouds?
Even then you will remember
the history of love, shaped
in the shapes of flesh, everchanging
as the clouds that pass, the blessed
yearning of body for body,
unending light.
You will remember, watching
the clouds, the future of love.
—Wendell Berry

Don’t set sail!
Tomorrow the wind will have dropped;
And then you can go,
And I won’t trouble about you.
