Just My Thoughts Pt. 7
Natsu’s Growth
I’ve been disappointed a few times at how Hiro Mashima writes his characters and plot. But never have I ever been as disappointed as I was when I read this panel in the 100 YQ.
For reference, Natsu made a joke about disinfecting Lucy’s burns. It was not even a funny joke. I don’t think anyone laughed. Lucy was burned after trying to calm Natsu who consumed Ignia’s flames to battle against the water dragon god. While he did succeed in the fight, he lost control of himself and was stumped by the flames.
Tumblr media
This is such a disappointing situation when it comes to Natsu and his development as a character. Everything he experienced in the original manga/anime is put to shame. It’s like his growth as a person disappeared into thin air. I mean come on!! Is Mashima being serious right now?! Because am I supposed to believe this is the same Natsu who wouldn’t let Gray use Ice Shell on more than one occasion?! Natsu knows the consequences of Ice Shell and refuses to let that happen to Gray no matter how dire the circumstances are. Even though Gray and Natsu would never admit it, their relationship is unique and filled with love. They may be rivals and opposite (considering the ice/fire, demon/devil slayer attributes) but their friendship has grown so much since the start of Fairy Tail. Doesn’t this show how considerate Natsu is?! How important the lives of his friends is to him?
Tumblr media
If that isnt enough here’s another example. When Erza was sacrificing herself in the Tower of Heaven arc, Natsu refused to let her go and eventually saved her. Erza is important to him and Fairy Tail. He wants her to live on. Doesn’t this show how much Natsu cares about everyone?! Is he making a joke about Erza?! No he isn’t.
Tumblr media
Okay fine those examples aren’t about Lucy right, so why does it matter?! Because Natsu would never joke about burning his friends, accident or not. And if it’s about Lucy, then most definitely not. Lucy is probably the member of Fairy Tail he cares about the most (aside from Happy). When Future Lucy died, Natsu almost went completely rogue (pun intended, if you know what I mean). He even stated that something precious was taken from him. Furthermore, when Lucy was “dead” during the Alverez arc, Natsu lost it. Literally, he became END, the demon everyone fears, the strongest creation of Zeref, the black wizard. Lucy’s life was so important to him that without it, there was nothing holding him back. He even stated that he can’t be stopped after having flashbacks about her supposed death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natsu couldn’t care less about the world ending. He wanted to fight the people that made Lucy cry. That’s what he was focused on. And so after all this, Mashima wants me to believe that Natsu would joke about burning Lucy?! Yeah, I don’t think so. After everything Natsu went through, he would’ve at least felt guilty. Considering that it was Lucy of all people he burned, he would’ve apologized over and over again. Why?! Because she’s so important to him. He literally became a demon when he thought she died!! Isn’t that proof enough?! I also think that he would feel so grateful to her. This isn’t the first time Lucy helped Natsu control himself. She’s always there for him. But Natsu has never lost control like this before. Did Natsu ever properly thank Lucy for saving by rewriting the book of END?! He’s literally only alive because of her. She tampered with a demonic force and black magic yet Lucy is so damn under appreciated that it pains me!!
If the goal was to lighten the situation considering the intensity of the battle against the water dragon god and Ignia’s involvement, a joke that doesn’t make Lucy’s burn seem pathetic would’ve been better. A joke about anything else would’ve been better. Seriously, Lucy knew the consequences of trying to stop Natsu, especially when noting that she was scared of his flames for the very first time. She did anyway because she cares about Natsu and knows that she can help him, even if it means she will get burned. I would also like to note that Lucy never actually saw Natsu as END. She arrived after he gained some sense of control. Considering everything, if Hiro Mashima doesn’t make up to me by having her fear of Natsu’s flame and her lack of experience with END play into the story I’m gonna be so mad. Since he already disappointed me with how he’s treating Lucy’s injury/burn, I really hope he plays the rest of the story properly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m very disappointed in how not only Natsu’s character is being portrayed and downgraded, but also how Lucy is yet again the butt of the joke. She does so much for her team and friends but is always ignored (I’m still upset about Aquarius’ sacrifice that’s not talked about enough).
Thank you for listening.

because some have proclaimed me as the bell-mère expert…
here are my thoughts on bell-mère’s role in the one piece live action adaptation.
tldr: i’m not happy.
i will preface by stating i am just Some Guy on the internet. do not let this rant negatively impact your opinion of the series. i thrilled with this adaptation!! i had a lot of faith it would be excellent going in so i wasn’t too surprised it delivered. it was comforting to kick back and watch such an incredible first season. i understand they had a somewhat strict timeline they could work from so certain characters and elements had to be cut. this is to be expected and i’m impressed with what they were able to squeeze in.
however. i am disappointed by only one thing. and of course, that one thing is bell-mère.
first, i will address characterization. or the lack thereof. seems like they stripped her entire character away by taking the time to bring her to life. if nami or nojiko explained what happened verbally, rather than sanction so much time and finances towards a flashback-style backstory, maybe they could've given bell-mère some individuality. that is mostly why i'm upset. bell-mère, to me, was one of the first interesting women in one piece. she got herself in trouble, she was violent, she was brave, but she was also a loving mother. we lost all her nuance bringing her to life. they captured only a small fraction of her character. to me, it felt like it wasn't even worth having a physical presence for this version of her.
in terms of her death scene, they took her fuckin' spine. she stood there in front of her kids, okay, she used her shotgun, that was nice. but her death was NOT it. it wasn't nearly as violent, gory and jarring as it was in the anime/manga. had such a low impact to me as a viewer. she just. got shot off-screen, and collapsed. she didn't try to recklessly fight arlong, she didn't face the entire crew. she didn’t put her gun in his MOUTH to BLOW HIS BRAINS OUT. that was the first time a woman in one piece, especially a former marine, fought so dirty. and they took that away from her. she seemed so docile so normal so. flavorless. not easy to remember or get attached to in the slightest.
i told a few people who only watched the live action adaptation that bell-mère was one of my favorite characters. they did not know who i was talking about. her name should be memorable. she should be memorable.
i understand power levels of the villains from what we’ve seen have been decreased. so some may argue if bell-mère DID put her gun in arlong's mouth, that would not end well for him. he was not shown to be capable of biting through wood or metal, after all. but i propose the suggestion that, if they put in the time and effort and stayed true to bell-mère’s character, they could have come up with another way to make her a true threat. that moment was simply not enough.
the death scene wasn't all bad though. she gave a nice speech to the girls, and although it still made me ask "bell-mère, why", it seemed a little more clean than her sacrifice in the manga? i did cry when nami and nojiko called her "mom", too. that was not in the original and cut like a knife. good play, opla. good play. i also liked bell-mère telling nami how she found them herself, it was nice to have that moment from the horse's mouth. the tangerine peel pinwheels were sweet but it signified the distinct lack of genzo. which also made me quite sad :(
i will reiterate: i am very happy with opla, and very happy bell-mère existed. but i almost would rather her be a dialogue-given backstory if it restored her character. nami’s backstory felt weak as a result. imagine how much harder the new viewers would cry for bell-mère’s death if she had zeff-level complexity. she hit nami before the runaway scene, but that was not enough to reveal anything significant about her. she was a little stern when nami took the book but that wasn't the right impression, either. bell-mère isn't stern. she's a very casual parent with a temper. without seeing that side of her, the slap kind of played off as random, or even cruel. that was a big character-development moment for her!! but she dies and zeff lives so i suppose there's no point adding too much depth to her. there was never a point in this season where i was like "this is a waste. we could use this time for bell-mère instead." everything felt necessary. so it's okay. she did what she does best and she took the sacrifice.
in the meantime, i’ll keep writing stories for her ♥️ if you liked this mess of a rant, here’s an analysis i threw together about her role/death in the anime. maybe that’ll make my disappointment feel even more warranted XD
love you all and i love you too opla 🥰

Shuji x Shortcake
Minors DNI! Mature audiences ONLY!
After over a decade, you reunited with your childhood best friend Shuji Hanma after moving back to Japan. Things seem great however the more you've spent time with him, the more you learn about the dark activities he has been into since you last saw him.
Warnings! Violence, mentions of murder, smoking, Hanma being a giant intimidating doofus, and strong sexual content. More warnings will be added for individual chapters.
This fic contains both fluff and smut in addition to some dark content (Hanma is in a gang after all).
Word Count: 3.1k
A/n: This is my very first fanfic for Tokyo Revengers. Also, I am still not fully caught up with the manga; therefore, some of the characters may be a little ooc. Lastly, italic means it is a flashback.
Also also: This is my first official post on Tumblr, and I am still trying to figure out how to navigate it.
Chapter ONE
It was a fateful day at the park when you were seven years old. A downpour has just passed through the area, allowing for the sun to emerge from the darkened clouds. Intrigued by the wet surroundings, you decided to go to the local park to play on the swing set. That was when a complete stranger approached you from behind. The stranger with short black and blonde hair was the same age as you albeit he was taller than the average seven-year-old kid. Once he is within arms reach, he grabs a handful of mud from the ground.
"Hey!"
The strange kid called for you as you swung by your lonesome. Your attention was then directed at him, turning your face and noticing a shit-eating grin adorning his.
"Who are you?" You asked him, curious and a bit unnerved by his presence.
Upon hearing your question, the boy's grin grew wider and mischief and excitement filled his golden eyes.
"Hanma Shuji! Wanna watch me eat this mud?!"
His response caused a look of disgust to plague your face.
"That is gross!" You shrieked at him. "Don't do that!"
"Too late!"
The kid named Hanma ignored your protests before shoving the handful of mud into his mouth.
"Ewww!" You cry out.
Hanma finishes his earthly meal and then he opens his mouth to show you. You only slightly gag at his gross actions; however, you nonetheless found yourself being charmed by the tall boy.
Almost immediately, Hanma doubled over, vomiting out the mud. Some of the contents nearly getting on you. Instead of running away, you find yourself rubbing Hanma's back as he vomits out the mud he previously ate.
"I told you that was gross." You scold.
"Hell yes, but it was still cool!"
Hanma gleefully smiled despite green flushing his cheeks. You let out giggles seeing his happy state before you promptly agree with his statement.
"Pretty cool actually."
"Yay! We should be friends!" He offers right before he once again doubles over to vomit.
You only watched with half disgust and half intrigue while the tall boy hacks out the rest of the eaten mud. Soon enough, he turns back to you and that was when he noticed a gold necklace around your neck.
"That's a nice necklace!" He compliments, wiping the back of his hand over his mouth.
"Thanks." You respond. "My name is L/n Y/n by the way."
Excited, Hanma just smiled.
"Awesome! Then we should be friends!"
"Yes. We should." Came your soft reply, happy that you've made your very first friend.
From that day forward, you two were inseparable. Even though you went to a different school than him, he still found a way to meet up with you and you two would walk together while holding hands, eventually arriving at the same park. Hanma often pushed you on the swings, you two slid down the slide together, and your absolute favorite was leaning on Hanma as you sat on top of the monkey bars, watching the beautiful Tokyo sky. Soon enough, it became apparent that Hanma was more than just your best friend. He became your protector.
"LET GO OF ME!"
You screamed at a delinquent kid who had you cornered as he grabbed at your hair. He only laughs at your terrified form while he notices the gold piece of jewelry hanging around your neck.
"That's a cute necklace. Mind if I take it?"
"NO!"
Your feeble arms try pushing the much bigger kid away from you but to no avail. He only grabs the necklace roughly before yanking it off your neck, snapping it into pieces. Disappointed, he only faces you.
"This cheap piece of shit!"
The boy raises his hand and swings it directly at your face. All you could do was shield yourself from the incoming impact however it never came. All you hear is a familiar chuckle and when you open your eyes you notice Shuji Hanma standing right next to the boy while having a strong grip on his arm.
"I'm here now. He won't hurt you again."
Hanma only says before punching the kid in the face, knocking him down. You watch as he proceeds to kick his stomach and face repeatedly. Eventually, you pulled Hanma away from the kid who was now covered in scars and bruises. The both of you watch as the humiliated and terrified bully sprint away from you two. Hanma could only laugh at his retreating form while you are on the verge of tears when you see the broken pieces of your jewelry on the ground. Upset, you kneel down to pick up the necklace, tears pouring from your e/c orbs.
"This was my favorite necklace." You sob.
His face of amusement was quickly replaced by a look of absolute concern as this is the first time seeing you cry. Unsure of what to do, he impulsively wraps his arms around your body allowing you to cry into his chest. Tears soak his t-shirt while he begins to gently rock you as if you were a baby.
"Please don't cry."
He only says however his soft words and warm embrace calmed you down. Your sobs stopped and they did not go unnoticed by your tall friend. Slowly, you separate from his hold, looking up at him with gratitude. Your teared-stained face smiled softly at him.
"Thank you, Shu."
You say to him, causing a blush to form on his cheeks. Heat rises on yours as you realize what you've called him.
"Sorry I-"
"Shu is a cool-ass name!" Hanma happily responds.
You can only giggle at his excitement.
Over the next few years, you two developed a strong bond, but like all good things, it eventually had to end. That end came when you two reached twelve years old and you were told by your parents that they decided to move back to the United States. Your heart is shattered upon hearing the news because that means you will no longer be able to see Hanma.
That morning was one of the worst mornings of your life as you stood with tears in your eyes to bid farewell to the tall boy. A river of tears flows down Shuji's face hearing those final words leave your lips.
"Shu? I don't know when I'll be able to see you again."
Your voice croaks with sadness as Hanma just pats your head.
"It's okay, Shortcake." He responds.
Though you're upset, you cannot help but cringe at the pet name.
"You're still on that?"
"Hell yea. You're short and you love cake, so Shortcake!" He stupidly jokes earning a pained giggle from you.
"You're always so corny when I am upset."
Hanma pulls you into a tight hug.
"It's the only thing I know that can make you smile."
He remarks, rocking you back and forth.
"It was fun while it lasted." You say to him while holding him.
"Yea. It was."
After a minute, you peel away from him. You then reach for something in your pocket. Hanma watches as you pull out pieces of the gold necklace. A bittersweet feeling overtakes his body upon seeing the piece of jewelry.
"Here."
You present one of the broken pieces to him, which he happily takes.
"Wow. Thanks."
"Keep it as something to remember me by."
You command before giving him another hug. The second hug was cut short when you two hear the beeping of the car, signaling you that it was time to leave. Separating from him, you give him one more smile.
"Stay safe out there."
He ruffles your hair while you gave him a nod. Hanma watches with teary eyes as you get into your parent's car before it quickly drives away.
It has been more than a decade since you've last seen and heard from Shuji Hanma. After graduating high school and saving up enough money, you've managed to find a way to move back to Tokyo, Japan. You're now employed at a fancy restaurant serving food to wealthy guests with a satisfied smile on your face.
You've had a long night at the restaurant, and you've decided to relax by running a hot steamy bath as soon as you returned home. You can feel the stress in your body melt away like ice cream on a hot day as you relax in your jacuzzi tub. Nighttime is approaching, so there is a beautiful orange glow radiating in your luxury bathroom. The tension in your muscles eases as you release a calming breath.
"Oh...I almost forgot."
You remark with a giggle while grabbing the bottle of bubble bath soap before pouring the contents into the hot water. In no time, the bubbles form with the help of the working jets pushing water against your body, massaging you in the process. Soon enough, bubbles cover the entire surface of the water and the sweet smell of peach overtakes the bathroom and seeps into your attached bedroom.
You've become completely at ease with the relaxing atmosphere. From all the long hours working at the restaurant, there is no doubt in your mind that you deserve this relaxing time. Just you, the hot and steamy water, and the bubbles.
"Perfect. Absolutely perfect."
You remark with satisfaction in your voice.
You can hear your tv in your bedroom. A news report is being broadcasted and the news anchor speaks with a sense of urgency in his voice. Some of his words go in one of your ears and out the other; however, you vaguely recall him talking about a series of gang-related violence that has been happening around Tokyo lately. You also hear him mention the Kanto Manji Gang which has been something that you've been hearing a lot recently.
"Kanto Manji Gang, huh?"
You only remark before washing up and getting out of the bathtub. Now listening more closely to the news broadcast as you put on your night clothes, the anchor then explains that the local law enforcement is still suspecting that the Kanto Manji Gang is responsible for the sudden outburst of violence. He added that everyone should be extra cautious when going out at night as that's when many of the brutal attacks - sometimes murders - occur.
An unnerving feeling seeps into your body; however, you just brush it off before heading to bed.
The next day is mundane as you finish getting ready for work. Deciding to walk down memory lane, you make your way to the park. You're sitting on the swing while watching the Tokyo sky. The light from the sun above reflects off your dangling gold ear piercings. Slowly swinging back and forth, you check the time on your phone, realizing it is time for you to make your way to your place of employment.
Quickly, you get back onto your feet while pulling the strap of your purse over your shoulder and you start walking out of the park and towards the train station.
Unbeknownst to you, a tall figure lingers in the shadows nearby. He watches you leave as he takes a drag from his cigarette. He only smiles while breathing out a breathy chuckle.
"Long time, no see, Shortcake."
He says while running his fingers through his neck-length black and gold hair.
Arriving at the restaurant you are greeted by your work friend in the employees-only area. You did not get a chance to begin changing into your uniform when your work friend starts to ask you about your plans for the upcoming weekend.
“Nothing but watching tv, why?”
You respond.
“Great! Wanna come to a party with me?” She asks.
“A party?”
You ask your work friend, perplexed by her request as you put your things away in your locker. Shaking your head, you put on your nametag.
“I don’t go out, plus with the craziness that’s going on right now, I’d rather stay inside.”
“Come on, Y/n! Please! The Haitani Brothers are hosting”
Your work friend pleads. Her hands clasp around yours as she starts getting down to her knees.
“Do you know who the Haitani brothers are, Y/n?! The hottest brothers in Tokyo and they host the best parties in the country. So many celebrities and executives attend, and for ONCE I managed to get an invitation!”
“How?”
Came your question as your eyebrow raised inquisitively.
“They have these lotteries and I won two invitations.”
“You only wanna go there just to fuck someone.”
You call out to which your work friend laughs in agreement.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. What if I get to meet THE Ran Haitani or his equally sexy brother Rindou? You know how much I adore them.”
“Yea. Yea, I know, but I also know they allegedly have ties to the Kanto Man-”
You’re quickly cut off by your friend as she covers your mouth with her palm.
“We don’t utter that name.” She scolds while having a serious look on her face.
You were not going to allow yourself to be persuaded into going to such a place, especially after everything you’ve been hearing about lately. You know there are rumors circling around those Haitani Brothers and their alleged association with the infamous Kanto Manji Gang. You’re adamant about your decision to stay a hundred miles away from that party and your friend noticed it. Realizing there is no way to convince you otherwise, she steps away from you and heaves out a sigh.
“Fine. I’ll ask someone else then.”
You can hear the disappointed tone in her voice as she brushes past you and into the kitchen. You can only shake your head before clocking into your shift.
The night is proceeding as normal. You greet the wealthy guests when they have been sat down at your section and then proceed to take their orders. Every once in a while, you catch a glimpse of your friend smirking in your direction. That smirk is all too familiar as you know she has not fully given up. The only thing you do is ignore her and continue with your night.
Towards the end of your shift, you can feel the atmosphere around the establishment run cold. The hair on the back of your neck stands up as you sense a pair of eyes peering at you as you bring drinks to one of your tables. Looking up, you notice a group of well-dressed men is sat in a private area of the restaurant. One of the men stands out as you make eye contact with him from across the restaurant. Quickly, you look away however you can still sense his set of eyes staring at you.
Men in suits are a very common sight; however, these particular men exude a dangerous aura. Even the guests around you have a look of concern plastered on their faces when they noticed the men.
“They are the--”
One man starts to speak but he is swiftly hushed by the people sitting at his table. It goes without a doubt in your mind about the group of men. Their infamy strikes fear into the hearts of many that it is to the point where people believe that just speaking their name will bring bad luck onto them.
You’re fully aware of all the rumors and hearsay about the gang. Although you are anxious due to being under the same roof, you nevertheless continue working as normal.
Around twenty minutes have passed and there is still a sense of uneasiness in the air. You’re then approached by the manager whose body is shaking with terror.
“Oh wow. You should take a deep breath.”
You say to him in a weak attempt to calm him down. Despite that, he takes your advice, taking in a deep breath and releasing it slowly. It relaxes him just enough for him to give you an all-important task.
“Their food is ready, so I need you to bring it to them.”
Perplexed, you respond:
“But that’s not my section. What happened to--”
“Kosuke had to leave early due to feeling ‘sick’.”
Your manager responds, referring to one of your coworkers who did suddenly go missing. Sighing, you just nod without giving any other response.
The entire restaurant watches as you bring the freshly cooked food over to the questionable men occupying the table in the private section.
“Here’s your food, sirs.”
You approach their table with a smile on your face while the anxiety in your body reaches a nuclear level. Most of the men just look at you with a blank expressions on their faces, and none of them spoke. They just watched as you present them with their food. During that, your attention is caught by one of the men with black and blonde hair. He is the only one in the group who has a chilling smirk on his face.
You attempt to ignore it; however, that is when you notice a familiar piece of jewelry dangling from his ear. That jewelry, the hair color, height, and even the grin plastered on his face eerily reminds you of your childhood best friend. You then notice Sin and Punishment inked on his hands as he grabs at his chopsticks. Seeing that, you recall a specific conversation with said friend about how he wanted to get tattoos.
“You should get Kanji characters because I think they look so cool!”
Came your adolescent voice.
“But I want something related to being a delinquent too.” He responds.
You shake off the brief flashback once you finish serving the meals to the men.
“Enjoy your meals, sirs!”
You say before turning your heels and leaving. The chilling man could only chuckle again while watching you power-walk back into the kitchen.
After that encounter, you feel slightly lightheaded, and you just now notice your heart pumping erratically. Stepping out of the back exit you are met with the open back lot and the cool nighttime breeze.
“Are you okay?!” Your work friend hastily approaches, concerned.
“Yea. I’ll be aight.”
Your response was shaky as you attempt to regain your composure. ‘Was it really who I think it was or is my mind playing tricks on me?’ You internally ask yourself while heaving out a sigh.
“You really need to decompress after tonight.”
Your work friend remarks, and even though you’re not looking at her, you can hear the smirk in her tone.
“Oh shit. Here we go again.” You grumble, turning to face her with a disgruntled look.
“I wonder if there is somewhere you can go, where you can let out some stream, preferably through dancing. You may even have really good cocktails and also meet really sexy men.”
“I can dance and make cocktails at home.”
You stubbornly interject; however, your friend immediately counters your response.
“But do you know any sexy men at home?”
Unable to come up with an answer, you remain silent. A wide smirk peers across your friend’s face when she realizes, she has succeeded in her persuasion.
“I’ll text you later on tonight. We can go shopping tomorrow for our party outfits.”
She says, going back into the restaurant, leaving you feeling defeated and unnerved.
[Feedback and other interactions are always appreciated.]

Really out of nowhere but I rewatched some of fma03 eps and im gonna rant
I'm just so done with smiling politely saying that fma03 and fmab are both great sorry i cant anymore. Just no
So if you in love with fmab im warning you it probably won't be a good read for you, so feel free to ignore this, block me or idk read this and give it a thought
0. I really dont understand the glorification of manga over anime adaptations. Like people who are making the adaptation are not artists and creators themselves? What makes mangaka better than others and absolutely indisputable, seriously?
1. 'Oh no long introduction and fillers' that actually allowed for Hughes' character development before his death. Seriously if i mention his death among my homies I'll get lots of faces clearly going through some ptsd level flashbacks, it was that impactful. I still need to take a breather when im rewatching before diving into that ep.
Tumblr media
2. Nina. Yet again got more time to grow on us and thus aquired higher trauma inducing levels.
Tumblr media
3. Ishval massacre and aftermath are WAY MORE VISIBLE in fma03. First of all Ishvalans are depicted as human beings, and not some background, and we get lots more on their sufferings, raids on camps, racism towards them, etc etc etc
Tumblr media
4. Scar. Oh boi how do i even go about this. So without raging much about that beefy obviously wrong dude who got 'sense' bitten into him and started working with the oppressing gov in fmab, we have a wronged and tormented survivor of a genocide, who was justified in his vengeance and rage, was depicted as an attractive person of color despite his antagonistic role and was seriously almost cheered on in his actions by the narrartive. His interactions with his people and his moral dilemmas made his character possibly the deepest and most thought out one in the series.
Tumblr media
5. The Rockbell doctors being killed by their own government. That's a waaaaay more interesting and damning detail on our government affiliated protagonists than just dumping their murder on a delirious patient.
Tumblr media
6. Homunculi had their own will and desires and a way more developed story arc that had a huge impact on protagonists' morals. Being created by the humans who were desperate to bring back their loved ones and both parties are getting tormented by it?? Characters strongly driven by their own goals and staggered by their relations to their creators vs some indifferent goons in fmab. Just compare Sloths and their impact on the stories and protags.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Final conflict being a fight with god and his intricate plans in fmab, versus final battle vs a selfish pretty much usual person who had thrown everyone under the bus in pursuit of immortality. Adds so much more desperation flavor. Suddenly your hero journey doesn't end in epic battle for the sake of the mankind, as you would like it to be. It's just to oppose one awful person with too much power and zero care about anyone else. That's raw and that's way more plausible and relatable in our mundane lives.
Tumblr media
8. Overall darker tone and themes of the fma03.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. MUSIC. I dont remember a single track from fmab, but i went really out of my way in my teenage years to find internet access and pirate fma soundtrack and cry listening to it
Tumblr media
10. ART. Sorry but don't tell me fmabs flat colors are anything to 03's soft tones and lighting
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah sorry, but I'll take the dark and gritty tragedy over just another shounen with doubtful messages each and every time

One Piece Live Action Episode 5 EAT AT BARATIE!
Tumblr media
It's hard being a One Piece fan. We celebrating the success of the series, then given the best episode in the anime and then the manga has just been serving.
Episode 5 has been my favorite episode in the season so far. But that may change soon cause I said I liked Episode 4 after I watched it.
I felt a little for Little Luffy in the flashback. Maybe because Garp was an actual human being and Little Luffy wasn't doing his cute little whine when his Grandpa was scolding him that I was actually sad for Luffy not having someone to support his dream of piracy.
Tumblr media
But Garp was still Garp and I know he cares about his grandson. I still cry during the flashback when Luffy was climbing up the platform to Ace. Garp was carrying Luffy home and Garp was apologizing for being such a cruel grandpa and that maybe he wanted a different grandpa. But Luffy just nuzzled his head into his grandpa's back and called out to him in his cute little tone and Garp said they'd have a feast back home because he took a lot from the marine ship.
Tumblr media
Damn. They're about to give Garp the Fist of Love and Galaxy Impact
Tumblr media
I could almost hear him say "As expected of my grandson"
Tumblr media
Luffy willing to stand up to his grandpa for his dream. Even if it meant that he may be arrested.
Tumblr media
I swear without Nami they'd be broke and lost at sea.
Tumblr media
The dynamic between Nami and Zoro, being the first two people Luffy ever recruited was so brother-sister looking after their younger brother coded.

The set designer for this show deserves all the awards. Like seriously wherever they docked the real thing I want to see it.

My favorite All Blue dreamer

I wished they kept to the scene in the manga. Like Luffy's first impression of Sanji and why he asked him to be part of his crew was not because he was a good fighter nor because he liked his food, Luffy hasn't eaten anything Sanji made yet, but he asked Sanji to be part of his crew was because Sanji fed Gin when everyone else tried to kick him out of the restaurant. He saw Sanji's kindness and wanted him to be part of his crew.
Tumblr media
This is why there is a lock in the fridge in Sunny and giant mousetraps
Tumblr media
I believe in the theory that there's no one in Laugh Tale or they could be vegans. Cause Luffy would have found One Piece already if someone was cooking there.
Tumblr media
After seeing Arlong, Nami's happiness became very important to me
Tumblr media
He promised to pay with a treasure tab. He made the same promise to Makino. I really hope he returns to Foosha Village and pays that tab cause Makino's a mom now.
Tumblr media
Luffy and Sanji conversing about their dream with bright looks on their faces is very important to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love that this is what they're bonding over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't tell if this is Sanji's signature fried rice
Tumblr media
I liked Buggy's intro. BUT Mihawk's intro, destroying Don Krieg's fleet, became my absolute fave bounty intro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know he and Shanks fought a lot over the years so he easily recognized the hat. And I know he knows about Luffy. Not by name. But because Shanks lost his arm to a boy in East Blue and he probably made the connection. So him mentioning the hat really got me excited.
Tumblr media
I love Zoro and Mihwak's duel. They perfectly recreated the battle and really did justice to the moment that defined Zoro's entire brain chemistry as a pirate, Strawhat first mate and Luffy's best friend.
Tumblr media
Den Den Mushi Appreciation
Love they're incorporating more designs to the Den Den Mushi. In the anime Garp had a megaphone so this was so in the world tone

| Trigun Stampede Episode 6 Ramble
Before writing this whole thing I’m about to go on, I just want to say that i will be talking about major trimax spoilers, specifically for volume 10 as well as spoilers for tristamp (obviously)! so if you haven’t read trimax, maybe skip this post! Anyways, onto the ramble!
I’ve had this thought for a while now — since I’ve first watch stampede — but I’m dumb and don’t know how to out my thoughts into words. Along with this, I’m sure there are others who have made posts talking about this exact thing but I don’t care, I just want to brainrot and cry over this.
So, episode 6 of tristamp — “Once Upon a Time in Hopeland” — is the episode in which we as the audience are finally given a glimpse into Wolfwood and Livio’s childhood at the orphanage. And immediately, something stands out about this entire scene — the artstyle changes.
Tumblr media
Instead of the typical CG/3D models that we the audience are used to, we are given this sketchy, simplistic, 2D animation style instead — almost similar to that of which you’d find in a children’s book. This of course, is completely different in comparison to what Tristamp had shown us previously. All the other flashbacks we had been shown thus far had still been rendered in CG. But this. This scene in particular is the only one with this art style. With that being said, it’s safe to assume that Studio Orange did this with the specific purpose of making this scene feel special and distinct. To make it stand out and to signal it’s importance.
Now, with that being said, why would studio orange go out of there way to make a distinct artistic style just for this moment? Not to mention, why make it only geared towards Wolfwood and Livio? Well… I think studio orange is going to use it in relation to Wolfwoods death.
Like, okay hear me out, I’ve seen some people say that there worried wolfwood won’t die next season (for whatever reason) but like THE DEATH FLAGS ARE ALREADY THERE!
Tumblr media
LIKE!! THE FUCKING BELL?? HELLO?? JUST THROW IN SOME CONFETTI WHILE YOUR AT IT! (IM SOBBING SO LOUDLY)
But anyways, back on topic. I think they’ll use this 2D artstyle in a way to make wolfwoods death hit like a fucking train. Like… after rewatching tristamp for the second time, I couldn’t help but feeling like this whole artstyle choice is going to bite us in the ass later.
Like…y’all… I can see the fucking confetti falling in this artstyle…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, this last segment of this ramble is just gonna be me speaking in “what if’s” and just spewing out made up scenes based on this idea since obviously we have no clue what studio orange plans on doing. But anyways, here it goes.
So like…imagine studio orange finally adapting the couch scene, with Vash and Wolfwood having their last drink. Now obviously, the scene would prolly go similarly to the manga, with Wolfwood saying that he’s sorry for saying his smiles were empty and vash telling him to not say stupid things. Cue in the confetti beginning to fall, and in Wolfwoods perspective it shifts art style. And to make it even more fucked up, they could do the thing were it flashes between this and then back to the normal CG models; between Wolfwoods contentment of his death and being at peace with it — depicted like a children book — versus the CG — the true reality of it… the one vash is experiencing as he begs god for just one thing.
On a side note, I’m so so so fucking scared and excited for what Orange has in store, considering the fact that they’ve already paralleled the one fucking confetti frame from the manga (which I will not show cuz I cant look at those panels but if you know, you know) and like, I don’t know, I think I’m just gonna be a mess when that arc gets adapted.
Anyways, UH, I KNOW THERES PROLLY A POST THAT HAS SAID THE SAME SHIT BEFORE BUT BETTER BUT I JUST HAVE HAD IT IN MY BRAIN FOREVER SO UH YEAH!
Take these screenshots as a gift! 💕

trimax volume 6 random thoughts
chapter 1:
oh, hey, it's the guy from the 98 anime!..... or not?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm not keeping track of this TOO closely, so there may be other instances of this that i missed, but the guy from 98 episode 1 also showed up in trimax chapter 7. it makes me wonder if nightow provided character designs/ideas to the 98 team, or if it's the other way around and he decided to incorporate anime-original characters into the manga. either way: neat!
HAVE I MENTIONED I LOVE MERYL, BY THE WAY.
Tumblr media
i love the bits of characterization we've been getting for her. she (and milly) are our tie to humanity, after all
i must say it is nice to have a goofy fight after... all that in volume 5. and before... the rest of volume 6.
chapter 2:
aaaand now we start the next chapter with wolfwood's nightmare/flashback! hurts just a little bit! (the trio IS kinda serving tho ngl... when you have a fashion show at 7 but need to terrorize the orphanage at 6)
Tumblr media
^ completely and 100% unironically, they were in love here.
i just... ugh. this is such a vashwood chapter. the absolute trust and fighting together completely seamlessly, they are just. ugh. ughhhhh. this kind of trust just GETS to me.... sorry. i'm normal about them. i'm NORMALLLLLLaauughghghgh
ANYWAY. chekhov's table made me laugh
Tumblr media
i am physically restraining myself from going crazy over vw again as i reread this chapter to write this post.
anyway anyway. ww calling himself "nicholas" is cute :)
Tumblr media
just kidding one more vw comment as a treat
Tumblr media
HE'S SO IN LOVE. FUUUUUCK.
chapter 3:
legato continues to be fascinating to me. i'm observing him like a bug in a jar. which is appropriate, considering...
Tumblr media
WHEN I CALLED HIM A BAGWORM IN THAT ONE POST I WAS JOKINGGGGG I WAS JOKING!!! THIS MADE ME LAUGH FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES STRAIGHT WHY DID SHE HANG HIM FROM THE CEILINGGGG IT'S SO FUNNY
Tumblr media
this is actually making me fucking cry.
...i got so distracted laughing at bagworm legato that i almost forgot to say literally anything else about the chapter, but anything else i have to say mostly boils down to "wow, legato is such a freak (affectionate)"
also, whenever something that was in tristamp is brought up i feel like the leonardo dicaprio pointing meme. like "oh hey, i know this!" going into this manga with prior knowledge from stampede is... an interesting experience. all that being said, i can't WAIT to see more of the manga version of double fang. oh nightow we're really in it now
chapter 4:
oh, finally, FINALLY!!! last volume i asked where the knives nuance was and now we're FINALLY getting some knuance, thank god. seeing knives react to just how badly humans treat plants is SO effective. and we're not even up to the juicy part yet. it makes me want to eat glass.
speaking of eating glass.
Tumblr media
i thought something like this might've been the case, but still... this hurts to read.
Tumblr media
i want to eat glass!!!! fuck!!! this reveal is so insane, it's like monkey's paw of "this is a way knives can be defeated, but by the same method, vash is closer to death than knives is." WE don't want vash to die, and neither does knives, and this chapter is the first (and possibly the only, idk) time the reader's feelings and knives's feelings are... well, aligned. at least in a sense.
chapter 5:
this chapter is really something, because it starts off almost seeming like another lighthearted "we're in a random town fighting a goofy enemy of the month" romp much like the early chapters were, heck like chapter 1 of this very volume. but it's just wearing the skin of that. which is, y'know. the thesis of this entire chapter. smiling to hide the pain and all that.
i don't think i can really... articulate anything of substance. the chapter just kind of... speaks for itself, i think.
although i DID laugh at ww trying to enjoy his noodles and failing, and also the phrase "needle-noggin-isms." thanks for providing some levity, we actually really do need it.
chapter 6:
ohhh boy we are REALLY in it now!!
i enjoy seeing knives ponder like this. legs crossed, arm slung over his face... i don't know. maybe it's because i myself sometimes lounge in this pose.
Tumblr media
what exactly is he thinking about, i wonder. that in awakening/forcing vash to use his powers, he unintentionally pushed him closer to death? maybe? i don't know. either way it's very on-the-nose for what their relationship has been like.
and then of course we cut to this shot of vash, looking in a mirror created by knives's slice
Tumblr media
this shot is making me think a lot and i'm reading too much into it, but- obviously the reflection puts vash's beauty mark on the opposite side, so there's the knives resemblance, so also, i suppose vash must see knives every time he looks in the mirror, right? also vash looking at his reflection featuring his own black hair- which we're all still thinking about... i dont know. i dont even know if this is anything LOL. i feel like i have the dots but i'm failing to articulate the connection. anyway
Tumblr media
this made me laugh. thanks for the levity again, wolfwood :)
Tumblr media
BECAUSE WE'RE GONNA NEED ALL THE COMIC RELIEF WE CAN GET, BABY!!!
Tumblr media
maybe i'm just insane for this because it's Generic Party Imagery but the specific combination of rem flashback + party popper + funny glasses makes me think of the similar scene in 98 when the seeds crew celebrates finding planet gunsmoke. like is this another instance of nightow nabbing stuff from 98 or am i just making things up.
the twins are so cute and baby knives smiles so much, i want to microwave myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
knives wants to believe in humanity. man. MAN!!!!!
what comes next... i'm absolutely carrying my prior stampede knowledge into this, but fuck, man. fuck. even then, i know that stampede didn't show everything, so i don't even fully know what to expect. which is fun! but i can't believe the volume ends right in the middle of the flashback, MAN!!!

Tokyo In April Is...Eps 1 & 2
Okay not even five minutes in and I like this already. I've missed Japanese BL. There's just something about it. Japan is always so so good at longing.
The middle school versions of Ren and Kazuma are very well cast and utterly adorable.
I can already tell that I am going to dislike Sanada intensely. I feel like there's one of those in every office, and it blows, and I always, always have trouble with antagonists that are too true to life. I tend to get a lot more ragey with them because I know that there are people like that out in the world.
Not every office has a Ren to help, though. I only wish it did. /currently having flashbacks to very similar circumstances where I had to eat the accusation and apologize. Thankfully it wasn't in front of an entire office though.
Man, Ren is a flirt. I like, although I feel like poor Kazuma has some confusion in his future because of it.
Man, where's my cute office mate bringing me delicious bento? Fake office dynamics!
Oh, yeah, people definitely thought that there was something there as far back as middle school, and Hide definitely came close to asking about it.
Wait wait tell him what? Why is he crying? NO explain show!
(spoiler: show does not explain)
Hm. At first I wondered if we were going to be dealing with homophobia here, but I no longer really think that's the case. Why would Hide dude be crying about that? And with the talk of Kazuma being hospitalized for a month and him losing his phone, I'm wondering if maybe it's less about homophobia and more about Ren falling apart somehow when that happened - is that how they wound up separated?
The talk of rumours is what made me think homophobia but now I wonder if people thought he had died? I don't know if I'm missing something or if I'm supposed to be this confused.
It's a mystery, and yes I will be poking at it right up until the show deigns to reveal it. I can't help myself. Although I guess it's based on a manga so it's also possible that I will just find that and spoil myself because self-control? I don't know it.
And do we have an ex, now? I really like his hair.
Damn, here I was thinking that Kazuma was being unusually forward for this type of show and then he goes and throws out the friends word. If you want to be more don't -
"Let's head to bed."
Well, then.
Okay, I'm interested. I'm just so happy that MBS extended their drama shower for 2023, and as I said, I've missed JBL. Whatever else goes on, they almost always nail the thirst.
My only quibble was the acting from the young Ren and Kazuma at the scene outside the love hotel. It seemed very stilted but I have to guess that was the direction, because they nailed everything else, especially the initial fireworks scene.
Both of our leads are engaging me, but right now Kazuma especially. He's so open (even though it's super easy to see how and why Ren is hesitant with him - he's open but reserved - things he says can easily be interpreted as friendship even if he's not entirely acting like/saying the things a friend would). That said, there's also something about the way that Ren is with him that has me feeling like he might wind up being the one that hurts my heart most in the end. I guess we'll see.
There's something so deliciously achy about two people with a thwarted first love meeting again and maybe getting a second chance. I'm so here for it.

I have a baby sano request!
Can you make a angsty story. The time of whats going on in the manga now. So baby soan is acutely a little younger than senju and is in the second gen Tokyo manji gang she she became the Captain of the gang and in the fight against kanto and baby sano goes in the middle to find mikey and when she gets to him she looks in horror to see that mikey hurt someone pretty bad and then she sees there body and mikey covered in blood thats not his own and starts trembling and shaking, mikey then turns and looks at her and walk closer and she falls to the ground with tears falling down her face shaking more and puts her hands up in defiance and whimpers "please mikey, dont hurt me please"
Mikey then starts at her and looks at the blood on his hands taken aback by her words and gets a flashback of when they were still kids, mikey made a promise to never let anything happen to baby sano and to always protect her no matter what. Mikey then comes back to reality everything quiet no sound like he was frozen in time, only seeing himself and y/n. Mikey looks down at his niece and falls to his knees and starts to cry shaking, realizing what he was about to do and all the things he has done, and grabbed little sano and pulls her into a hug crying that hes sorry and so sorry that he almost killed her, she hugs back and cries with him and they hold eachother tight.
So baby sano is around 8/9 when Kanto and Toman fight. Imma indulge and say Tadashi and Takamichi allowed her to join Toman but they told her to stay on the side lines as a last resort for when they can't get to Mikey, she surely will.
But once she had spotted his familiar figure she rushed to go beg him, pushing past the fighting boys. Reaching towards her uncle only to stop when she saw him standing over an unfamiliar body. Her eyes widening in fear as she glanced towards Mikey spotting the blood that was covering him.
He must have sense her presence because he had turned towards her, making his way over to her. This wasn't the happy Mikey she remembered the one who promised that he would keep her save. The girl teared up as she stumbled back to keep her distance from him. This Mikey scared her, the girl let out a startled yelp as she fell backwards and onto her back.
Shaking and trembling while Mikey kept walking to her, she was quick to cover her face. "Mikey No! Don't hurt me!" She shrieked out tearing up at the male. Mikey froze hearing that familiar voice, one he has heard in a year. His eyes widen as his mind cleared spotting (Y/n), on the dirt who looked at him with fear.
It had hit him
That his dark impulse had nearly caused him to kill his niece, someone he had swore to protect and keep happy. Seeing her crying and begging him not to hurt her, caused the blond to tear up as well. He quickly stumbled forward kneeling down next to her, his heart breaking as she flinched when he pulled her into a hug.
"I'm sorry ...I'm sorry "
He kept mumbling into her hair, keeping the girl close to him. Both the Sanos crying as the held onto each, Mikey had pulled the girl to sit with him. Keeping her safe in his arms. "(Y/n) chii shouldn't be here..."

My AIB S2 Review
okay everyone, i had to take some time to write this out because it was only getting longer and longer the more i watched s2.
now, i did read the manga before s2 came out so i already knew what was going to happen, so naturally, this will contain major manga spoilers!!! i do love this show and manga very much it is my number 1 manga but i thought a review could be enlightening to some.
i will be going in episode order to make it easier
episode 1:
i thought episode 1 was pretty good actually. the first scene being the same scene from season 1 was a good touch to remember how arisu was before being sent to borderland and getting a small refresher. the king of spades intro was good, it was dramatic for the first person dying and i thought the actors did great on the whole car chase scene as well. also ann was amazing for driving i love her. i don't really have a lot to talk about this episode to be honest but i think the intro for king of clubs was great. though, i wish niragi was a little more fucked up looking? he looks pretty bad in the manga when they first meet him at the venue for king of clubs but dori does an amazing job portraying niragi. i also enjoyed the cast's reaction to kyuma being naked because i would react the same too.
episode 2:
starting the king of clubs. to be honest, i think it was both good and bad they took 2 1/2 eps to do the king of clubs. good for people who are willing to understand the opposing team more and feel more emotion, bad for people who just want the game to be fun and see people die. i do wish yamashita would've had more...expressions? kyuma is often seen smiling in the manga and while yes, i think he was still portrayed more, a smile or two might've been nice. i think king of clubs personally was the best adapted game in season 2 excluding the queen of hearts. i really liked the band members on kyuma's side too they were all really cool.
episode 3:
episode 3 i really enjoyed. i liked the flashback for tatta being foreshadowing to what will happen to him in the king of clubs game. as always, i really liked kento's acting when tatta died. also, i enjoyed the parallels to season 1 ep 3 when karube and chota died. i think kento did an amazing job for expressing his sadness even if arisu didn't know tatta for that long, he was still a friend, and naturally, people would cry with situations like this. i really liked kyuma's last words as well to arisu. very motivating. also his death was cool.
second half of episode 3. the jack of hearts. when i first saw the images/trailer with chishiya in the jack of hearts, i was worried they would ruin the whole aspect of the game. and while really, chishiya didn't change anything about the game, they did take out some parts from the manga that i'm disappointed didn't make the cut. for example, enji being a hypnotist and hypnotizing kotoko into everything she does and believing he won because of him thinking he was superior to the players. i think hayato did a great job as banda, he definitely gave off a good creepiness to the character that you're supposed to feel even as a viewer just by the way he stares. again, chishiya being there was weird. urumi was also portrayed amazingly i really loved her more even if she was only in one ep she was great.
episode 4:
i don't have a lot to talk about this ep really. the end of jack of hearts was...eh. to be honest, removing enji's whole inner dialogue with himself and removing the fake eye aspect were the things that made me wish were included because it could've been so much better. chishiya...was good i guess. i mean, he's not a hearts player, he's a diamonds player, so why would he join the jack of hearts? i don't fucking know. it felt like he was almost given plot armor from the writers and just made him have a "feeling" enji was the jack. also, the snacks bags communication was stupid in my opinion. it would've been much better if they kept him being a hypnotist instead. other than that, i think it was done pretty good. the second half of ep 4 was good too even if there was only a little bit of action with the king of spades. though it's weird to me what things the makers of the show chose to take from the manga and what not to, but i'll discuss more of that later. i did however, think it was funny how arisu ran into aguni and heiya. i really believed we would get doudou (manga only character) and it worried me about the dynamics that would be created and change by adding arisu into the mix instead of doudou. and i was right to be worried.
episode 5:
alright, ep 5. so, heiya is my favorite character in this series. reading the manga i was so excited to see if they would include her and when i saw the first picture of her in the adaptation i was so happy. what made me even happier was seeing the seven of spades aka her first game. reading it hit like a truck, but it was so good. that's how it felt watching it too. i'm glad we got at least one scene of her before being sent to borderland and her mentioning her mother. while it wasn't told in the adaptation, heiya just appears to have some issues with her mom. well, the manga definitely puts more thought into heiya's character as a whole just by her first appearance in the side chapter 37.1. it's shown that she has quite the broken family. with her father constantly at work, her mother would bring back affairs to the house and tell heiya to not tell her father which started the hate against her mother. the adaptation just didn't even bother with that i guess. we were lucky enough to even see the seven of spades honestly.
now, as i said, heiya is my favorite character. but i believe they just didn't get her right. i love every bit of yuri's performance as heiya and she did phenomenal, but i personally think they could've done more to show her character more. i do like that they kept her "everything i do is for the future" talk so at least they got that right. to me, i see heiya and aguni as a father-daughter duo, especially in the show. in the manga with doudou included in the trio and not arisu, he even says they are like a family. but we got basically none of that. i'll say it, arisu shouldn't have been included in the trio. i think it would've been better if they had even just brought a brand new character to join heiya and aguni instead of dragging a main character into the games where they aren't supposed to be. much like with chishiya in the jack of hearts. the side characters deserve their spotlight, and i think the show was too determined to make sure that they had at least one main character in every game for season 2. i didn't like that. sure, arisu gave some comedic relief in the ep but...yeah.
queen of spades was pretty cool. for it getting a lot of screen time without it being in the manga was interesting seeing as many of the others were just clips from them. the game is basically advanced tag with taking turns involved. the set was really cool though and it was awesome how they were moving around to get to others faster. usagi's speech was a little too long but it got the job done like always so i can't complain when she does great at everything. the queen was good, too.
episode 6:
second half of queen of spades. i thought the fight between usagi and lisa was amazing and fun knowing both actresses did the stunts themselves making it appear more real when they get hit. the kid was there for what seemed like no reason though but i understand why lisa chose him as their teams king since he was just a kid and couldn't do anything, it was a smart move on her behalf that very easily could've made her win if not for usagi. overall, i thought it wasn't too bad for a show only game.
onto the king of diamonds. when i saw kuzuryu in the trailer at the venue for king of diamonds with his pose, i was so happy knowing they would do it. while i don't understand the rules pretty much at all because i suck at anything math related, it was very interesting. i'm glad they did it but upset by what they did with chishiya and his backstory. in the manga, he's not even a full doctor, he's still a med student. the show practically changed his entire backstory for ultimately no reason at all. we didn't get to see him as a child who was neglected all his life which resulted in him becoming the way he is, and we didn't see how he actually was in the manga. they basically dumbed him down to just some sarcastic "unbothered" character when he's far from it. nijiro did amazing as chishiya i really love him and how he did portray him even if it wasn't the same as he is in the manga. i am surprised that they did show a flashback for kuzuryu to understand his thoughts better and why he made his game fair. overall, i really liked king of diamonds and am so glad they decided to keep it in.
episode 7:
this episode was...definitely something. the first half battle royale between niragi, arisu, and chishiya was good, not as great as it could've been along the lines of dialogue, but still good. i didn't think they would keep this honestly. but i was so happy that they did. while chishiya's words weren't the same and didn't have as much impact as the manga in my opinion, i believed it was still pretty damn good. this is also me just being grateful it made it to the final cut.
king of spades. now, i cannot express how unbelievably irritated i was at this whole thing. for one, they basically erased all of shirabi's (the king) thoughts and feelings on how he believed he was giving the players mercy by killing them. we barely got the flashback of him killing his fellow solider and i was annoyed they just made him out to be the bad guy who just liked killing others.
as for the rest of the ep, i was extremely disappointed. i thought that maybe because they would change the king of spades maybe they could have it equal the manga in terms of how the group would defeat him, but no. there was no tracker shirabi had that heiya shot and broke. there was no shirabi burning down the forest and causing the others to venture back into tokyo. it was just so different that it made me hate the king of spades game as a whole for the show. i love love the king of spades in the manga because the trio of doudou, heiya, and aguni were able to do it alone by themselves. but apparently in the show even all of them couldn't defeat him nor could a fucking bomb. they basically just obliterated half of the cast for no good reason except to fuck with people and that alone was irritating. i didn't think they could fuck up the king of spades so bad and then they did.
for personal reasons, i will pretend ep 7 doesn't exist.
episode 8:
everything i hoped for. this was the best ep in my opinion. mira crying was especially interesting to see after usagi and arisu's little moment with one another. people said this ep dragged on and was boring but i thought it was excellent. riisa did a great job at being mira and i just fell in love with the character even more after watching this. i liked that they showed the meteorite hitting them and that they stuck with the manga ending. but, the joker card. personally, i would be perfectly happy with the series ending where it's supposed to. but if they do a s3 of sorts i will probably still tune in. i understand why they did that instead of showing the joker like the manga, but i would rather it just ending. but, a little disappointing they didn't show arisu drinking the tea beforehand and that's why he's believing what mira was saying because i really enjoy the panels where she talks about the tea being a hallucinogenic and causing him to freak out. but, i can't complain too much.
overall:
i thought s2 was still amazing even if there were some downs that i didn't like, i still love this show and manga to death. i was happy with it as a whole product and thought it was still brilliant and i am so glad to have seen this become a adaption and have so many people watching it when it went viral on twitter in multiple countries, the hours viewed are amazingly high compared to last season, and just the general reaction to it. i'm very thankful for the actors who were able to participate in this show and the director. it was truly amazing and i will most definitely continue rewatching over and over again.

Just My Thoughts Pt. 10
Fairy Tail Manga Reread Version
Tumblr media
Ahh the very first official mission as a team. Natsu, Lucy, and Happy have to destroy a book. Of course, it’s not as easy as it seems. I love how Hiro Mashima made this their first mission because it’s almost foreshadowing the end of Fairy Tail. (Is it really foreshadowing?! I don’t know, I’m not a literary expert, I do know that this is genius.) How?! Well let me explain.
Lucy doesn’t want to destroy the book at first because she’s a fan of the author. However, as she starts to read the book, she discovers there’s a secret hidden within it. Now why does this matter and what’s it foreshadowing you may wonder. Well, looking deeper into what Lucy discovered, the book is holding secrets about a relationship between two people. In this case, it’s about a son and father, a family essentially. She’s the one who finds this out and is also the one to help break the spell (and when this happens, words come flying out of the book and changed from one perspective to another via magic). The truth about the situation between the father and son was hidden in Daybreak and twisted by time after the death of the author as he failed to communicate with his son the truth and it became corrupted in the son’s perspective as he was the one who wanted Daybreak destroyed.
Taking this information into account and how this the first mission, I think it’s very clever how Hiro Mashima demonstrates the book of END. The book of END at a glance is a demonic book that holds Natsu’s life force, his demonic powers, and connects him to Zeref, the infamous black wizard. Do you get it yet?! The book of END holds the secrets about a relationship between two people. Instead of a son and father like in Daybreak, it’s between two brothers but still a family. The book holds the secrets between Natsu’s truth and past life, a relationship twisted by the impacts of time and magic.
Aside from this, I think it’s clever how Lucy is the one to discover the secrets of Daybreak and how she is also the one to rewrite the book of END, especially since she’s filled with sadness when discovering that a simple book, bound by pages and leather holds the life of her best friend. When END is first opened up, the demonic language is displayed in red. However, after being rewritten by Lucy, it becomes golden, almost angelic if I dare say myself. The perspective is changed from Zeref to how Lucy sees Natsu or at least how Natsu is more than just words on a page.
I just love this connection. It’s absolutely brilliant!! I want to also connect this back to a former post I made about Lucy’s hair being golden and how Natsu found Daybreak which was a golden book. I would like to mention the use of the gold color to show such a connection back to the first mission and memories with Lucy is so beautiful. Maybe I’m grasping onto false hope but I love how NaLu is being colored in gold as every given chance. The plains were golden once Future Lucy found peace and who did she see first?! Natsu, of course. Another example is in the Dragon Cry movie when Natsu has flashbacks, Lucy is surrounded by warm gold light. Isn’t it beautiful?! I love them!!!

[SPOILERS FOR INTERVIEWS WITH MONSTER GIRLS]
*WARNING*: If you haven’t read Volume 6, 7 and/or 8, it’s best if you don’t read this review.
All good?
With that out of the way, I would like to spell out my thoughts regarding the chapters within Volume 6, 7 and 8:
- I didn’t expect Takahashi to be the younger bro. Quite surprising really. Need to learn more about Takahashi tho 😞
- His niece is apparently a uni student yet Takahashi is in his early 30s, flashback even go as far to reveal that it’s implied that Yoko was born when Takahashi was around middle school-high school meaning that his older bro could’ve been twice of Takahashi's age or something like that.
- We got complicated science stuff regarding dimensions and whatnot but honestly I just want to learn a little more about Takahashi.
- Which we did for what tidbits we learn such as that back during his middle school-high school days, he was moderately build and that along the lines, he started working out because of wanting to be seen as approachable to the students.
- Oh and he is in his early 30’s.
- For the demis, we see Sakie having quite a bit of bonding with Kurtz and it gives me fuzzies cause I want to see those two interact more (yes don’t judge me I’m weak for the intergenerational friendship trope)
- For Hikari, we get to see that she is affected by the succubus power and moments with Hikari in the manga/anime can never go wrong.
- Yuki's resolve of wanting to be a teacher because of the many people she has met and Sakie giving Yuki a speech on how it should be the latter’s destiny is just SO GODDAMN POWERFUL & HEARTWARMING! I literally almost cry in the inside because of this scene.
- Machi. Holy moly. It was one emotional moment for her because of how bittersweet it is. We get to see her confess her crush to Takahashi due to Kaoru (I’ll get to her later) persuading that she should be upfront has a tense kind of feeling. Takahashi didn’t know how to respond to it and after a talk from Sakie about it (despite viewing her one sided subtle rivalry with Machi), he decided to tell Machi about how he feels. We don’t see a full convo on who it went but just a bunch of panels of Machi moving her head (meaning it’s private) and after Takahashi confesses that he likes Sakie, we then cut to the scene where Machi tearfully told Hikari and Yuki about what happened and we see all three girls hugging out and crying together. Kaoru feels a little guilty about this and apologize to Machi about what happened but instead of being angry, the dullahan told Kaoru it’s fine and the latter joined the hug out.
- This got long but I’ll keep this short. The way Machi's school crush was handled was excellent as it didn’t resulted in a badly-handled drama where it made characters OOC nor did it result in a pointless love triangle between two teachers and a student (thank the goddess it never happened).
- That being said, it didn’t mean it’s the end of the world for Machi as she had other things going on for her like studying to be a researcher and her friendship with Hikari and Yuki. In a way I’m thankful for Petos on handling Machi's character as a whole and that for her, romance isn’t an end all be all since if you focus on other things, it can lead to a happy ending such as how other characters noted that Machi has steeled her resolve.
- Onto Kaoru, a demi from Okinawa, who is based on a tree spirit that reads mind. I think she is an awesome addition and while we may not see much of her in later chapters, I think it’s nice that she is the catalyst for making Machi realize her feelings for Takahashi and trying her best to not let the dullahan down. Also her friendship with the main Demi girls rock as well. Oh and don’t forget the dimension moment she has it’s quite funny even if it lasted for a few panels or so.
- We also get to see Machi’s family as well. We learn from both parents that ever since they found out their daughter is a dullahan, they tried that very best to support her in any way they can and are grateful for both Hikari and Yuki's friendship with Machi.
All in all, even though I skipped the later volumes, I get a feeling that Vol 9, 10 and 11 (if I can get my hands on them) would be great and I want to see how the final chapter goes as well.

The perfect coming of age manga
I know I’m quite late to the party, but I finally read Inio Asano’s Solanin, and I absolutely loved every second of it.
Solanin is a short 2 volume manga that covers the story of a graduated group of friends who must face the reality of becoming an adult while still yearning for a life where they can follow their dreams and aspirations, a life where they can change the world with their music, and where nothing else will matter.
Tumblr media
It’s quite a common topic when it comes to coming of age media, however, Solanin shines over other works thanks to the way Inio Asano, its creator, is capable of showing the emotions of its characters and the feelings of the narrative in such an authentic way.
Inio Asano’s work is known for being heartbreaking, and Solanin is not the exception to that, but without getting into spoilers, this one might be the “less sad” of his repertory, and still, it’s the first time that a manga has made me cry.
Tumblr media
There is something really special and different about the feelings that are portrayed by Solanin’s protagonist in comparison to other manga and anime. The over exaggeration in expressions that I am used to in Japanese media is almost nonexistent here (aside from a few joke panels) I think there is an intention of showing emotion in the most simple but realistic way, and it works wonderfully. From time to time I could totally see myself and my own thoughts being reflected in the cast of Solanin.
I had never found bubbles of dialogues and panels that felt so true to what I’ve been feeling during my early 20’s, and when the characters found themselves having flashbacks to college and such, I could almost feel as if I was seeing my own group of friends and our flashbacks together, even if the context of our situations were so different.
Tumblr media
I think Solanin is the perfect coming of age manga because it manages to do something that very few pieces of media can do, expressing its feelings in a genuine way, and having a message that can resonate with youth all around the world.
I recommend absolutely everyone to give this one a read, even if you haven't read another manga before, I'm sure you will find something that will resonate with you in this wonderful story.

Beat & Motion-Chapter Round-Up(Chapter 7)
I genuinely love this manga with all my heart. This chapter not only made me search out and start the reality show that it came from, Million Tag, but it’s also made me cry almost three times by now. Beat & Motion is such an honest and heartfelt representation of what creatives feel and go through. I really think everyone needs to check it out. I’m gonna go in-depth below the cut because my hope is that if I don’t put visible spoilers in this part, the endorsement might make someone go out and read it. So go check it out!
Tumblr media
First of all I want to talk about Million Tag. It was a web game show put on by Jump where six teams of Mangaka and Editors were paired together and the winner received serialization in Jump. Through context clues it’s pretty easy to tell that Naoki Fujita, this manga’s author, won. I’m still watching it but what I found incredibly interesting is that the most skilled editor among those participating picked Naoki Fujita. And despite the energetic and passionate nature of the manga, he is quite, as the show describes him, melancholic. I find that to be a hilarious dichotomy. But it does make sense as now I can understand where Tatsu was coming from so much better. Another thing is that the editor picked him out because of something I’d only recognized after quite a bit of time with the manga, the expressions. The editor recognized that as his strength instantly. I know I give the Jump editors a lot of flack but that was so impressive and really representative of the skill and knowledge they bring to the table.
Tumblr media
Moving on, this chapter was absolutely phenomenal. It genuinely felt like the culmination of several different emotions and arcs that doing it in such a short time has me seriously impressed. Tatsu’s word’s this chapter really affected me. I just recently wrote a book. And after riding the high of finishing it and putting it out there, I was faced with the come down of nervousness and doubt that I think must be quite common in situations like this. And I was on the fence about sharing it. And then my phone notified me that a new chapter of Beat & Motion was out. I always appreciated the insights this manga offered but this chapter was scarily relevant. It ferreted out every insecurity I had and showed me the real reason I write. A yearning for understanding and communication and the act of expression itself. This manga is able to present those raw feelings so realistically. I genuinely urge anyone and everyone to read this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could go over each and every panel in this chapter with a fine tooth comb but I should probably be a little bit more concise with this stuff. Nabori confronting Tatsu leads him to the heart of why he makes art. It’s to be understood. In a way, that's what this whole series has been about, art as a means of communication. The characters talk to each other through their art and are at their most genuine when doing so. It’s honest communication without any of the coverup that Tatsu used to employ when he was a jaded ass. And talking about art also brings out the honesty in them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what’s beautiful is that Tatsu’s genuineness has already reached Nabori, and it’s what’s coming back to him. It speaks to the nature of artist’s being inspirations to each other and gets back to the heart of why it’s important for Tatsu to have creative friends. I love Nabori and everything he says. He is a walking talking embodiment of his beliefs. He’s nervous and shy until he gets cocky and puts it all out there. Him saying to damn everything and put yourself out there is something that really resonated with me and I’m glad this chapter came out when it did. All of these sentiments culminating in a beautiful flashback of Nabori realizing that they’re not alone in their fight really sealed the deal about how special this chapter was.
Tumblr media
P.S. It's so hard not to include the full pages because they showcase such a wide range of emotions so beautifully. Gods! I love this manga!

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑: it’ll be okay
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: as time starts ticking down to his last day, an argument sparks uo between you and eren. this argument felt like deja vu. despite the argument, eren still has a smile on his face. this whole time he’s been nothing but smiles, until tonight for a brief moment he confessed that he was scared. while you cry about losing him again, he reminds you that every is going to be okay, but will it? tomorrow you’ll be miserable again..tomorrow you’ll see the world differently without the person who made you see it through his eyes; beautiful and full of life. but how can you do that without him?
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: implied aot ch. 139 manga spoilers!!, suggestive smut (in flashback), angst, cliche romance. gut wrenching fluff.
𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓: ~ 2k
𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: it’s been a month since i updated, and i’m really sorry about that. life has been a lot for me, but i’m fine now. anyways..see y’all next chapter for 5/6!!! and here is the song based off of this chapter!!
𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 | 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓
previous chapter
it’s crazy how memories work, right?
the human mind picks and chooses what it wants to believe or what it wants to remember, and your mind chooses to keep all the happy memories of you and eren, and only those. you live off of them. your brain fuels and runs off of them.
so, when the arguments happened, you taught yourself how to forgive and forget. you would say your sorries, and you would spend the rest of the night talking it out, making sure you were both on the same page.
you also made use you would always say i love you before bed, and never go to bed angry, even if you had to stay up all night to make sure.
and the one time you didn't do either, it resulted in the death of eren.
you watched him walk out that same door twice now. the first time he never returned, and you weren't sure if he was going to this time.
it was almost like deja vu, or a blast from the past. you got that same gut wrenching feeling you did a year ago. and this time, you were going to chase after him.
you ran to the front door, not caring if it was cold, not thinking about anything but.. him.
as soon as you stepped out the door, it was pouring. you saw eren walking on the sidewalk, "eren, wait!" you shouted. he kept walking, not turning around.
you finally caught up with him, grabbing a hold of his arm, "eren!" you sobbed. "i didn't...i didn't mean it, i swear." if you could go back to fifteen minutes ago and undo what you said..you would in a heartbeat. you didn't mean it.
before he could open his mouth, you stopped him, "please..just hear me out. i'm so mad, eren." you sobbed, "i hate that i lost you, and t-tomorrow, i'll be losing you all over again. and tomorrow, i-i'm going to be reliving the same nightmare i did a year ago. not only did i suffer, but you did as well." you watched eren's head fall in sadness, "a year ago, we both lost something." you commented, placing your hand on his cheek, gently brushing your thumb on his cheekbone. "we lost each other, eren." you replied with a shaky voice. he looked up slowly, "i'm sorry for walking out," eren say softly as he took a step closer to you. you moved your hand, just for eren to place it back on his cheek.
"i'm sorry for saying that i hated you." he moved your hand, leaning in to kiss the top of your head, "i'm scared, y/n." he silently sobbed, that was the first time he actually said how he felt about this. and it broke you. his arms then wrap around you so tight, you felt like you couldn't breathe. but you didn't care, cause tomorrow is going to be the worse pain you've experienced.
after a couple moments of standing in the rain, you both decided to go back inside. it was silent, not anger, not awkward, it was just silent. you both didn't know what to say, there were no words that could make tomorrow feel any less painful.
the only thing you both wanted to do was hold each other. you wanted to be able to feel alive for one more time before the world turns dull and grey again.
every time a tear fell from your eye, eren would be right there to wipe it up. eren still has a smile on his face, despite everything that happened today, and what's going to happen tomorrow, he still has that smile on his face. that smile you fell in love with.
it wasn't a painful smile, it was a smile..his smile, letting you know that everything is going to be okay.
and that smile was right, cause even though he wasn't going to be there, physically next to you, you both know that somehow he'll still be with you.
"let's go to bed, hm?" eren said softly as he kissed the top of your head. and for the final time, you followed him up the stairs. his hand never left yours, and you knew why, and you didn't dare to question it. you couldn't handle what he would have to say. you knew that whatever he had to say would damage you both.
you were both dreading to close your eyes, you didn't want this final night to end. you wanted to stay up all night and venture the night, living it like it was your last. but, at the same time, you both didn't want to do much besides laying in bed.
there were no words while you both were crawling into bed. you didn’t even know what time it was, but all you knew that it was grey and gloomy outside.
it didn’t matter what time it was, you were both tired. you were both mentally and physically tired.
after you both changed and got out of your damp clothes, you started walking towards the bed, when you heard something. it was a soft laugh..from eren. it was the first time today that you heard something come from him that wasn’t a silent sob. he was smiling. and just like always, his smile spread on yours, “what’s so funny?” you said as you fixed the bed, “n-nothing..” you rolled your eyes, the smile never leaving your cheeks, “mhm, sure.”
“the sweater you’re wearing.” you look down, realizing it was the same sweater you wore —well more like stole,— when he said he loved you for the first time.
flashback; december fifth twenty-sixteen
“hm, let’s go get some ice cream.” you suggested. hearing eren sigh softly, “at this point we should own an ice cream place.” you playfully slapped his arm, he quickly glanced a smile, then focusing back on driving. he placed his hand on your thigh, and that same feeling that you felt when you first met him came back. butterflies.
it’s never ending butterflies with him.
every moment is like you’re floating.
every moment with him, you live it like it’s your last.
every moment with him, it’s never end smiles and laughs.
every moment with him..was special.
he caved in, pulling a u-turn to drive back to the nearest grocery store.
“please tell me you’re going to get something different this time, y/n.” you rolled your eyes with a smile, “hey! it’s not my fault vanilla is my favorite flavor.” he laughed, while pulling into the plaza, “you need to expand your horizons!” he would always make jokes about you liking that flavor. you liked other flavors, but there was something about vanilla that hit the spot like no other.
after eren turned off the car, there was this lustful moment. you couldn’t explain that feeling but it felt right. like as if all these moments with him were supposed to happen and all these core memories with him were just the start.
he leaned in closer, his nose gently bumping into yours, your lips brush against each other, it was perfect.
he placed his hand on your cheek, slowly and sweetly deepening the kiss. it wasn’t a sexual kiss, it was a kiss filled with a life long promise of lust.
that kiss defined your future with eren, just like your first kiss. as his lips left yours, the feeling still lingered. "let's go get your ice cream, "kay?"
you nod with smile, giving him another quick peck. the smile that was on his face, was mesmerizing.
"Whatcha smiling about, hm?" you teased. still being close to him, watching his eyes wandering all over your face. his eyes moved towards your lips, then to your eyes,
“you're so beautiful, you know that right?" he always reminds you. whether it's three a.m. or twelve p.m. he always reminds you.
you cup his cheek giving him another kiss, "yes, and i'm thankful i have you to remind me." there's these moments where you don't feel like yourself for some odd reason, and just him alone makes you feel a million times better. he's the reason why you smile the way you do, he's the reason why you became more confident in yourself. he's the reason why you're…you.
those moments where you don't feel like yourself, eren would notice right away. it could be the simple things, like you wouldn't text him back the way you usually do, or you're more quiet than you usually are. you've never had anyone in your life care for you as much as eren has. it scared you at first, and you were also very confused. you didn't understand how he could care for you this much in such little time.
you and him just had your first kiss -which was also your first time meeting, almost three months ago. in between that time, you grew as a person. who knew you could find yourself because of someone. he opened your world, showing you to follow your dreams, and live life to the fullest.
with a couple more shared kisses, you two were on your way to get some ice cream. this slowly became a tradition..in a sense. you both tend to learn more about each other when you have a bowl of ice cream. you got eren to open up about his past. his dad left him, leaving only him and his mom, and for years, he's had issues with trusting and opening up. in the little time you've known him, he's opened up more than he ever has with anyone.
it took him months to open up to the rest of his friends, but to him, there was something about you. with you, he felt safe. with you, he felt he could finally breathe for once without having to fake anything. every smile eren has with you is nothing but honesty.
everything felt like it was pulled out of a cliche love story.
"fine, i won't get vanilla this time." you say, ending in a slight giggle. you open the freezer door to grab mint-chip. when you closed it, eren smiled, "go on, get the vanilla." he rolled his eyes with a smile, you quickly put down the other flavor to grab vanilla, "god, i love you.." he mumbled, with a slight laughter. you almost dropped the pint, "you, what?"
eren's eyes widened, "n-nothing." he said quickly, as he walked to the next freezer case to grab his flavor while you stood there in shock.
he said that he loved you.
he loves..you?
"eren, do you love me?" you coughed up, walking towards him, "y-you. you said that you loved me." there was this brief moment where everything —background music, people talking, etc., went silent. it was just you and him. the space between you both slowly became smaller, watching a small smile grow on his face, his cheeks and ears turned a slight rosy color. "eren, did you say—” he cut off your words with his lips against yours, your heart started racing, chills were sent through out your whole body, your cheeks were getting warm.just from a kiss.
"i love you, y/n."
three words can change everything. those three words can define a future, it can change the way you see the person who says it. and your past taught and haunted you with.
eren said those three words in the middle of an ice cream aisle.
"love you so much." he replied. you dropped the pint of ice cream, placing your cold hands on his warm cheeks. you kissed him this time, his hands moved to your waist, his thumbs finding their place in the dips of your hips, "i love you more, eren." you whispered against his lips.
you kissed him again, for a slight second. eren looked around, "let's get outta here." you laughed, "why?"
you watched him pick up the dented pint — not caring about much of anything at this point but you, and putting it back on the shelf.
one moment you were in the frozen aisle, and the next you and eren were parked behind the grocery store.
you weren't dong anything sexual..yet, but right now, you were in the back seat of his car.
your lips collided with his, and it was this never ending feeling of love fueling your veins. "say it again," eren mumbled against your lips. you rolled your eyes, "eren, come on. i've said it like five times!" you giggled, giving him a quick peck, then feeling his thumb caress your cheekbone, "and i want to hear it over and over again. cause it still doesn't feel real." you grabbed his hand from your cheek, then placing it over your heart, "i love you, eren." this time, when you said it, you watched his eyes lit up. your heart started racing while repeating.
you finally got your cliche romance movie, and never in a million years did you think that your boyfriend would say that he loved you in the middle of an ice cream aisle. but he did. now, this moment, it was a memory. this moment in time will stick with you 'til the day you die.
maybe cliches aren't a bad thing after all…
present time; december eleventh, twenty-twenty-one
laying in bed with him feels different. it's not a bad different, it's knowing that tomorrow. you'll be sleeping alone again that brings this empty feeling in you. every time you tried to close your eyes, they would shoot right back open.
your mind wouldn't stop racing. what if he actually wasn't here in the morning? what if by time you wake up, these past days were just a memory? "hey, eren?" you whisper, watching his eyes flutter open.
shit. you woke him up, "hm?" he hummed. "no, no. go back to sleep." you whispered again. you began to roll over when his hand stopped you, "what's up?" gren said in a half sleep voice. you took a deep breath, "-can you hold me?" you said faintly.
he moved closer to you, you then place your head on his chest, feeling him wrapping his arm around you, "of course." he whispered, kissing the top of your head. you look up at him, "in case you're not here in the morning, i just. i just wanted to let you know that i love you so so much, eren." your eyes started to water, eren placed his hand on your cheek, his thumb collecting your tears, "i love you, y/n. i always have and i always will, i promise." you reached up and kissed him on the lips, "thank you for bringing me back."
waking up this morning was different to say the least, one moment you were in his arms, falling asleep to the sound of his heart beating, feeling your head rise up and down with the sound of him breathing, and next you were waking up to an empty bed.
