Jaune Plushie: JNPRZ gets a knock at the dorm door. It's a very flustered Weiss almost silently asking for her Jaune plushie back. R_BY peeking out from their own dorm watching it unfold.

Weiss knocked, and knocked, and knocked, not loudly mind you, but enough that hopefully the individuals on the other side of the door would answer.

It wasn't unusual for Weiss to reach out to JNPR, mostly Pyrrha of course, but this time... this time it wasn't just for Pyrrha. Oh she knew she was involved, but she also knew the other little red head was too. It couldn't have just been one of them, neither would have the courage by themselves to take it...

'Curses, I shouldn't have left it out!'

Weiss was practically fuming at herself, she couldn't believe she'd even been so stupid as to leave it out. She knew her teammates knew about it... they'd thankfully not said anything but Yang had given her a strange look.

She knew how odd it was to be infatuated with Jaune now... they hadn't exactly gotten along well their first year of Beacon, but now'? They were getting on swimmingly! She'd learned that he was quite a gentleman, or rather he turned into one. He'd done so much with himself that he was practically a different person, and as he described it himself. He felt like he was just a better person in general.

It... it was amazing to see, because he helped her become a better person too. It was better than some of her previous relationships, Neptune and her ended... well she best not talk about that. Flynt was nice and sweet, but eventually they just kind of didn't click.

She even dated Mercury at one point, was into bad boys... that was a mistake she will neve touch on again.

Sun was a surprising one, and he and her ended on a rather friendly note.

But that was the thing wasn't it? She hadn't given him a chance, adn before she could he was already dating two girls. Two! She knew polygamy wasn't outlawed it just... didn't happen as often as one would expect.

Her teammates saw nothing wrong with it, apparently and Yang quotes, "Their dad was banging both our moms at once."

Blake was too into her novels to care.

Anyways, enough monologing the door was opening.

"Hello? Oh Weiss!"

Pyrrha came to the front, giving her that practiced smile. At least it was warmer than the one she used to... she'd learned that Pyrrha hadn't much liked her in their first year.

Not that she could blame her, she had been rather pushy when it came to certain things, and her treatment of Jaune hadn't helped any. It was a rather inane thought when people actually thought they'd make a good match back then... when she thought that. She couldn't imagine Pyrrha ever giving her the time of day when all she cared about was her fame...

'No enough of that, ask her.'

She thought to herself, while trying to focus.

"P...Pyrrha... do you uhm..." Her fingers twirled together and her heels temporarily left the floor as she began to fidget. It was incredibly difficult for her to ask.

"Yes Weiss?"

Her tone was coldish, she knew why Weiss was here.

"You can do it Weiss!"

Ruby's whispered voice called from behind, and a snicker from Yang.

"Do you have my... uhm..."

"Who is it Pyr?"

The OTHER individual came to the door, May... Weiss had no negative things to say about her. She was sweet, and somewhat shy... but she was also conniving. There was no way one survived in Shade without being some level of cunning.

"Oh Weiss. Hello."

She was sweet and curt.

Weiss didn't like it.

"So uhm... yes well again, do you have my uh... do you have my plus... plushy?"

"Oh? Which plushy?"

Pyrrha didn't flinch, she knew it was wrong of her but well... it was hard not to want one.

Of course she knew that she'd have to give it back, but that didn't mean she didn't want to see Weiss squirm a bit... she was slightly vindictive. She knew the girl was much better now, and of course she had eyes for Jaune, which sane woman didn't. (Note this is simply Pyrrha's pink tinted world.)

"My uhm... well I had a..."

"Weiss, are you alright?"

May stared at her with concern, one she knew was false!

Taking in a deep breath she needed to get this done, "Do you have my Jaune plushie?"

"Oh! That was yours?! I'm sorry! We just saw it when we were cleaning your room since Ruby wanted our help with it."

"Sorry!" Came Ruby's cry.

"We thought t may actually be a gift for one of us."

Pyrrha knew she was lying, but well it's not like she minded.

"I... I see..."

"Well then Weiss... perhaps we can come to an arrangement? It is a rather cute plush."

Weiss blinked not once, not twice, but three whole times!

"Arrangement?"

"Yes... why don't you come in?"

May seemed confused, but shrugged, probably one of Pyrrha's plans, those always ended the same way.

The red-headed duo parted ways for her to come in.

"Welp! We lost Weiss."

"Boo! I was hoping she wouldn't get in that before the year was over, there goes my 200 lien!"

Ruby pouted.

Blake smirked, "Called it... remember the other deal?"

Yang growled, "Yeah yeah, if she ends up pregnant that's double down... but come on, that's not going ot happen!"

"NO YANG! YOU JINXED IT!"

Ruby fell to her knees, "MY MOOONNNNEEEEEEEYYYY!"

Let's talk about who lives, who dies, who tells the story

Winter and Ironwood. How are they still both alive in the end. Or I mean, are they? If Ironwood somehow survives, is he going to be relevant to the plot again someday? Or are they just going to leave his fate open with "yea, maybe he drowned or whatever".

Ace-ops and the birds. I guess to surprise of many, Marrow is still alive. But one of them has to go, right? There's no way we can have them all survive. I don't feel much for losing Vine, but he seemed like a good guy, sure will be missed. But man do I feel bad for Qrow, as they all witness the fall of Atlas and no one is reasponding to his communication. He didn't even need to be at the void to get to assume he lost his girls.

Team RWBY. They're all dead. Rename the show.

Team JNPR. It must have been fricking hard for Jaune and Nora to watch RWBY fight and fail, and yet they had to follow through with their plan and stick to their roles. I wonder what went through Nora's mind when she thought she's going to get some help from Vacuo and then stepped into the sandstorm and pure chaos that awaited her on the other side, also quickly finding out she can't go back. And unlike anyone else there, she knew exactly what was going on in the portals. But I'm more than glad all of them are still alive, I was starting to be genuinely concerned about them. I did not expect Jaune to end up on the detour with RWBY, but I like his add to the mix. I wonder how Ren and Nora are going to cope with this loss, cuz as far as they are concerned, they are the only ones left out of the Beacon squad now.

Team RWBY. I was kidding, okay? But damn, imagine being this long lasting friend of them, fighting side by side with them and then watching them fall one by one. Poor Nora and Jaune, poor Penny, poor Weiss (she was keeping her cool for so long and suddenly she stood there all alone damnit girl). And now they are all gone and Nora knows and Winter knows and just how are they going to pursue without the girls that started it all, with half the gang they were, before they entered the portals. This is going to be so much to take in for all these people they left behind when they fell.

Cinder. Cinder is frickin playing Salem like wow? Actual wow? She's either very self-conscious or hella crazy for trying to trick Salem and damn I'm sure it's both of these. But this is where she gets interesting for me. Does she really believe she can be more than Salem one day? Oh girl... well, at least you have something more to offer when you decided not to die today. Is she convinced Ruby and the rest are dead tho? Most likely so. Oh I can't wait to see her face when they return. xD

Neo. Did she really, truly, for even a split of a second, believed, that Cinder is gonna pull her up? I always thought she's the one least foolish of them all and here we are. It's not like she didn't know she couldn't count on the grimm lady from the start. But well, now she's in the void with RWBY, and I wonder how this is going to play out. My mind is screaming don't redeem her, don't redeem her, she's not redeemable character, but she doesn't need to be to still be able to pull a good fight for the good guys againts Cinder, who's probably very high on her kill-to list by now. Also, I just find it hard to imagine team RWBY forgiving her after she was about to kill Ruby without a blink of an eye and was the direct reason for Yang's "death". But whatever happens with her and the gang in the void is sure bound to be interesting and I'm here for it.

Penny. Fricking Penny. Remember, when people though she's the new P in JNPR? Good times. I'm sorry, but was this really necessary? I suppose it counts as a surprise move, cuz who would expect they would go though so much trouble to keep her around only to kill her anyway (AGAIN). I loved this girl, she grew on me. I was so pumped to see more of human Penny around, exploring what it really meant to be alive alive, and now we're not getting that and it just doesn't feel right, she deserved so much more. Personal feelings aside, I'm still not happy. She didn't just die, she sacrificed herself. And Jaune was the one who went though with it. Just imagine him having to tell Ruby. Penny is gone, and he was the one who made the final move. He went through with something Ruby refused to do a few hours ago. Seriously, this talk is not going to be pretty.

They lost a lot of people that day, and it's gonna get to them.

RWBY Character Music Themes

Hey hey Tumblr FNDM! I figured that with a new season, and a new year, I ought to update that list of musical themes I once had. Music is pretty important in RWBY, of course--it tells as much of a story as the actual show does. In addition, music sets the mood and tells us more about someone’s personality; most characters get their own leitmotif. Granted, that’s what happens in most shows--but we all know RWBY isn’t most shows. :P

So with all that in mind, I went through my pretty hefty collection of videogame and anime soundtracks, along with other music, to choose music that reminds me of the various characters in RWBY. These aren’t lyrical, for the most part (those that do have lyrics should be from fictional languages without a translation); I wanted the music to capture a character’s personality without words. But these are also my own interpretation of what’s canon--not even headcanon. Some folks may not agree with some of my choices, and that’s cool! I’d love to hear what other folks may think.

Most of these will go to YouTube, but some may go to Soundcloud or KHInsider. KHInsider links should have an embedded MP3 file in the linked page to listen to.

Nora and Pyrrha Headcanons

Brotp for life… or… I guess sistp? Whatever. Oh, and pretend Pyrrha never died (if you skip the last few episodes of V3, you could just say she’s MIA in V4)

•Both consider the other to be their second best friend (Ren and Jaune coming first respectively)

•Actually, they might as well be sisters. They are both the only children in their family so this kind of relationship is very important to them (If Nora had siblings, they’re gone now and Pyrrha has always wanted a younger sister)

•Nora’s grown up with Ren and he knows almost everything about her, but there are some things Nora saves specifically for Pyrrha simply because she’s a girl

•They could easily have been besties with someone from RWBY, but they have a really special bond and chose each other (and it’s not just because they’re on the same team)

•Nora was the first to figure out Pyrrha and Jaune’s feelings for each other and constantly tried to push them together

•I’m serious. She’s locked them in closets and broken a few elevators for the sake of progress

•The two went to the doubles round together in the Vytal Festival

•Things weren’t looking too good in that battle, so they spontaneously swapped weapons and annihilated the other team

•In case you didn’t know, they’re very skilled in using the other’s weapon

•Pyrrha will occasionally ask Nora to help train Jaune because she trusts her to dial it down while also giving him more of a challenge than his normal routine of sparring with her

•He always loses

•Their time of the month eventually syncs up and Jaune and Ren handle it perfectly fine

•They sometimes cuddle and cry during that time

•They like to have a girls day every week. They’re mostly alone, but sometimes include RWBY, Coco and Velvet, Penny, or Neon

•For the most part, their girls day includes sparring and fighting Grimm whilst having casual conversations

•But sometimes, they do girly stuff like nails, makeup, hair, eating tons of ice cream while watching movies (diet ice cream or whatever for P Dawg), they don’t gossip very often

•Nora can shady afffffffff and Pyrrha normally doesn’t know how to respond

•Pyrrha’s not innocent, either. She gets really shady when it comes to other girls flirting with Jaune. Nora finds it hilarious

•Pyrrha is a God at makeup and sucks at hair. Nora is a God at hair and sucks at makeup, so it works. They’re both terrible with nails

•Neither are allowed in the kitchen ever

•I’m serious

•Nora gets Pyrrha into anime, but Nora likes action and horror while Pyrrha likes romance

•Nora is a DC fan and Pyrrha likes Marvel which sparks many arguments

•They don’t fight very much mostly because Pyrrha immediately apologizes, sometimes when it’s totally Nora’s fault. But they make up quickly

•Nora gets Pyrrha to stop apologizing for everything. Even for her

•Pyrrha doesn’t swear very often (an occasional hell or damn which sort of doesn’t count), but when she’s annoyed or frustrated…

•Nora is not innocent when it comes to cursing, but she’s not a sailor like Yang

•Nora convinces Pyrrha to learn how to skate with her with lessons from Neon when she’s in town

•Nora also forces Pyrrha out of her shell, especially during the Vytal Festival when the different schools are in Vale. Pyrrha now has many friends along with Nora, but they’ll never replace JNPR and RWBY

•In turn, Pyrrha also gets Nora into some… less destructive activities like knitting or reading

•But she finds a way to make it extreme

•They have millions of pictures together

•Nora loves recoding Pyrrha on her ChatSnap when she’s telling jokes, laughing, sparring, or just being herself. She also likes to go live with her on Instapic a lot

•Pyrrha is still learning how social media works (“Why do I need one app for pictures, one for posts, and another one for temporary stuff?”)

•Nora loves memes. Pyrrha is still trying to understand them

•They’ve joked around with the idea that if they were lesbian or bi, they’d totally go for each other

•Most team activities are classified as a double date when things are declared official

•Pyrrha can’t resist Nora’s puppy face. Ever.

•Pyrrha gets buzzed, VERY RARELY drunk. Nora cannot hold her liquor despite what she preaches

•They sometimes talk about philosophy, but Pyrrha philosophy and Nora philosophy are extremely different

•They are each others maid of honor and godmother for each others kids

•They go on missions together sometimes

•Nora somehow roped her into getting a tattoo which later resulted in getting a few more when she saw how pissed her mom was

•Nora helps Pyrrha piss off her mom sometimes

•Their girls day evolves into taking their daughters with them (Ming, Iman, and Louise)

•Pyrrha was pregnant with her twins at the same time Nora was pregnant with Ming

•When Jaune and Pyrrha go on a mission, Ren and Nora watch their kids and vice versa

•Pyrrha’s son, Eros, is very attached to Nora and cuddles her every time he sees her. All of Nora’s kids are attached to Pyrrha

•Once retiring as huntresses, the two go on to teach at Signal together

oscar pine will join team jnpr and be the new p his inspiration is tip/ozma

Given that Oscar's last name is Pine (and that last names are used to make team names, like Sky Lark of CRDL and May Zedong of BRNZ and lie ren ( ren was his last name his fathers name was li ren (in that spelling) ) ( plus it fits for him to join team jnpr (juniper) since Both Pines and Junipers are evergreen trees ) and that he's got Ozpin's cane, I think he will be Pyrrha's replacement especially since ozpins aura is merging/merged with oscar ( he's a reincarnation who goes from person to person by merging with their Aura ) which led him to go on his journey and pyrrhas arc/crisis in v3 had been about possibly going through the procedure to forcibly merge ambers aura with pyrrhas and losing her identity and oscar is going through that process ( though the process is natural very different from the mechanical transfer done to Amber and Pyrrha, ozpin had reason to believe it would be similar to his own experience ) with ozpin and we get to see what would have possibly happened to pyrrha

( in ozpins original body he was named ozma (so rwbys ozpin/ozma is a reference to both princess ozma and the wizard of oz) ozma is based on princess ozma and oscar pine represents tip who was princess ozma turned into a boy where she lived most of her life on the farm and oscar lived on a farm for most of his life

Ozma was first introduced in the original book series as a boy named Tip who got an involuntary sex-change by the Wicked Witch of the North

It fits with JNPR's theme of being heroes who have crossdressed in their stories ( including actually pretending to be of the opposite gender with an exception being joan of arc jaunes inspiration who people knew was a woman ) and being the opposite gender of the heroes who they were based ( the gender they dressed up as ) on

and ozma being forced into a body that wasn't hers which is referenced with ozmas reincarnation curse

and ozma/ozpins reincarnation curse is also a reference to how In the original The Wizard of Oz book, the Wizard appeared to Dorothy and her friends in several different forms all claiming to be the same person.

Oscar's first name suggests that he is also inspired by the Wizard of Oz, like Ozpin is (that he has the same first name certainly lends to this). in the books oscar Diggs supplanted the true ruler of Oz, Princess Ozma, in order to take over. and with Ozpin's backstory reveal, of each incarnation gaining the spirit of Ozma before Ozma eventually takes over. In this case, the roles are played with. Ozma will always reincarnate into a new host, in a sense, taking over their body, while Oscar, the latest incarnation is at risk of this happening, but desperately doesn't want it to happen. The usurper however isn't happy about it though, and tries to work with owner of the body rather than just take over, much like how Oscar Diggs eventually returned to Oz and became a trusted ally to Ozma. Only difference is, the roles are reversed.

The popular notion with RWBY Theorists is that Oscar is based off of Princess Ozma/ Tip. This is why I love the concept of Oscar being revealed as the original Ozma—His true reincarnation as the revival of his original form resurrected in Modern Remnant.

Just as how Tip was later revealed to be Princess Ozma—the rightful ruler of Oz, I believe that Oscar is Ozma’s true incarnate. Unlike the previous Wizards of Light who were the lives of other men that only Ozma’s soul was only paired too, Oscar is Ozma himself. The adolescent version of his previous form reborn in current time.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The war with Salem started with Ozma and I believe it would be fitting for it to end with him. Ozma was the beginning and Oscar is the end.

I really like this because it paints a pretty fitting twist. I quite dig the irony of Oscar worrying about losing himself to the Merge when the reality is that he isn’t destined to lose himself but be made complete. The Wizard persona is neither Professor Ozpin nor Ozma. Ozpin described himself as a culmination of his old self and the many men who sacrificed their lives for the greater good of humanity.

By my hunches, Oscar is just like Eriol Hiiragaizawa from Sakura Cardcaptors. In Sakura Cardcaptors, Eriol was one half of Clow Reed—the most powerful sorcerer in the world and creator of the Clow Cards. The other half of Clow Reed was Fujitaka Kinamoto —the father of our protagonist: Sakura Kinamoto. Unlike Fujitaka, Eriol retained all the magical power and memories of Clow Reed.

What if…Oscar Pine is just Fujitaka Kinamoto in this sense? What if…Ozma’s reincarnation was divided in two: body and soul? While Ozma’s soul was reincarnated and paired with the souls of many other men over the years, he never regained his original body. At least, not until his original form was revived in current Remnant as a 14 year old farm boy from Mistral named Oscar Pine?

While Ozma’s soul, similar to Eriol, retained his memories and magical power; Oscar—the adolescent embodiment of Ozma’s original form did not. At least, not until Professor Ozpin—the current Wizard person became paired to Oscar.

though in the in the wizard of oz books the slippers dorothy had werent ruby slippers but silver slippers so ruby rose has references to the slippers from both the book and movies with her name and her eye color/ the silver eyed warrior powers which possessed great power and when ruby revealed them the bad guys became interested in her so and ozma and dorothy were best friends so it would fit for oscar/ozma to be close to ruby which is what I and @littlemisssquiggles predict what will happen in the future

I just cannot believe

for years now I’ve been saying Arkos was classic heroic romance tropes with Pyrrha in the classical male role and Jaune in the classical female role

and this is actually true in-universe, because Pyrrha parallels Oz and Jaune parallels Salem.

Arkos is paralleling Ozpin and Salem but better and not screwing up the way they did, with Pyrrha as Ozpin and Jaune as Salem

(the multiple scenes where ozma disintegrating in the exact same fashion that pyrrha nikos had disintegrated in at the end of v3

There’s also the part where Jaune was unable to save Pyrrha and had to struggle with a death wish (seriously jaune was borderline suicidal and some may say that was until his fight with cinder but I think its still there )
