Jaune felt a lot of things right now, he was fearful of Cinder, he was so damn happy to see Jessica again! She looked different, but he could recognize her voice ANYWHERE. He was also a little afraid, terrified even.

But more than the fear he felt, he was... also incredibly aroused. "That's not right."

He saw Cinder snap her attention to him for a moment before he grinned. The chance to do anything was over though. The sound of high powered anti tank rifle fire ripped through the air, the brief distraction was enough, not just for Jaune to hold her down. But for Jessica to take the shot.

He closed his eyes, hearing the horrific crunch but preferring not to see it.

The echoing sound sent tremors through his very bones. His ears rang, and his heart rate increased exponentially.

His blue eyes shimmered, a mixture of the soft silver light of the moon and the very visible tears in his eyes. It hadn't been the fear of death that had struck him with such emotions, no, he had always expected to die here.

It was seeing her again. "Hey." He called out to her as she approached, "You look-"

"Sexier?" Her tone caught him off guard, she was still very much Jessica but she had a more mature allure to her. That was till she suddenly blushed and began to fumble her words a little. "I uhm, well I mean!"

Yeah, this was his Jess, no matter how she looked. "You've always been beautiful to me, no matter how you look." He smiled, "But they do say absence makes the heart fonder."

She turned to him, and he to her. Their hearts moved in sync as they latched onto one another. "God, I'm glad I got here in time mi amor."

"I'm just-" He held her close kissing the top of her head, "I'm glad you're here. I missed you."

He was happy, he felt... good, and though he took a moment to look at the remains. He couldn't help but smile.

Silently he made a prayer, for a departed friend, a lover who could have been.

And beyond the stars and in the heavens, emerald eyes glimmered, a soft smile on the lips of an angel as the woman with dazzling crimson hair turned away, knowing her dork was in good hands.

Personally, my money is on Jessica.

"Ask me out?" He was confused, there was no way that any of them would. It wasn't as if they were close enough yet, and they were only a few weeks in.

What people didn't realize, was that Jaune couldn't detect romantic interest. Why? Because he had seven sisters! From dealing with guys and gals that wanted to get close to him to get close to them. To the stories they told! He'd kind of lost his romantic tracker!

Besides, it's not like a certain green eyed latina could ever be interested in him. It's not like she would stare at his butt whenever he bent over to clean for her team.

It's not like she would peak behind her studies and gaze at him cooking... she didn't enjoy the sweat on his brow from a hot kitchen. Nope, not at all.
