Not me already imagining when Omega joins the rebellion that she finds an aged Tech there…
He found a way to survive his fall and hide but not unscathed, perhaps receiving a concussion since his helmet had to come off before his goggles could. And trying to hide left him exhausted to the the point he passed out, which you aren’t supposed to sleep on a concussion… it could have led to varying degrees of memory loss…
If he eventually found a way off world, he could have just settled down somewhere like with what happened to Gregor. If he still possessed his extreme intellect, I doubt it would be hard for him to find a place to use his skills in fixing ships. Somewhere to fit in and bide the time.
Maybe at some point he sees the empire for what it is, something that needs to be stopped. Maybe he has these small feelings like he should be doing something more to help stop them. A rebellion could greatly use someone of his expertise.
Cue him joining and then seeing Omega’s ship and wanting to ask about it and that’s how they meet… and Omega has his goggles which Tech could then try to repair and they could maybe be used to help him regain some of his memories…
Tumblr media
I will never believe that anyone was ever delusional over hoping for Tech to be alive. Because I still believe, that with how ambiguous his ‘death’ scene was- anything is still possible.
I can’t let go. And that’s why. The not knowing what actually happened to him. I don’t want to see and I do want to see it at the same time. It might hurt like fucking hell like- ripping my very heart out and crying as I put it through a shredder… but I need to know. That would be my closure. Until then…
My hope goes on. 🧡

(Not sure if this idea has been floated already, I'm relatively new to tumblr)
I'm convinced the finale is going to have plenty of callbacks to the Bad Batch's intro story in TCW (I mean, we've already gotten a few callbacks).
So...
Since Tech was the one who directly helped Rex find and retrieve Echo, and then carried Echo through the shafts...
Tumblr media
What if Echo is the one to find Tech and carry him out of Tantiss???

I know everyone likes to make fun of Ezra for believing Maul, but I honestly really liked that, because. Like. He's been working so hard to learn to trust people again. His new-found family is teaching him how to open up and how to let himself love others without being too afraid of losing them to connect
And he doesn't immediatly trust Maul, which shows that even if his trust issues are much better now, he's still not stupid and knows to be careful around strangers, especially if you found them inside a Sith Temple
But. Maul shows and tells him what he wants to see; he acts kind with him, reassures him when he's in doubt, and manipulates Ezra (who is a CHILD) into beliving in him so he could get what he wanted
Then he betrays him, and by blinding Kanan, he proves Ezra's 'little me' right

it's so hard to take star wars seriously nowadays because i'll watch someone get skewered by a lightsaber and then somehow walk it off with a bacta patch and a slap on the ass. like you're telling me a weapon that can carve furrows into foot-thick solid durasteel doors, dripping melted slag in its wake, when applied to the flesh of a sentient being leaves behind nothing more than superficial damage. like be so ffr. "it cauterizes the wound instantly" this is not a little cut. this is not minor burns. you were IMPALED BY A BEAM OF PLASMA. your ORGANS have been COOKED. your BLOOD has BOILED. your BONES were INCINERATED. what are you TALKING ABOUTTTTTT

I know before Rings of Power, Amazon had a young Aragorn series in the works; now I’m wondering if the script was sold to Warner Bros who revised it into films and then asked PJ to come direct but
A) why is it multiple “films”. I am not enthusiastic about the idea of Peter Jackson trying to stretch the hunt for gollum (??????) to MULTIPLE films. If anything this feels like it one of the times something needs to be a limited series or something. Also what even are they gonna do for a real plot?
B) why the fuck is Peter Jackson willing to come back to Warner Bros after how much he hated and regretted working on the Hobbit with them?
C) what the fuck. They really are out of ideas with the rights the Tolkien estate sold to them, huh?

Satine fans: She would DIE for her beliefs.
Me: She'd also send innocent people to JAIL for her beliefs, so that doesn't really mean much, does it?

Are you seriously telling me that all of that work happened just to separate Zeb from Kallus.
I used Zeb's appearance in the Mandalorian as a reason he would definitely show up again! "Oh, why would they put all that effort and time and money into creating a live-action model for him if he was only going to appear in the Mandalorian briefly and then not be in the Ahsoka show, aka Rebels Season 5? That would be ridiculous!" Yeah keep laughing past-Martian, it did go down like that. I thought there had to be some deeper reason he was there, like setting the groundwork to appear again later, because why would he be pulled away from a pretty conclusive happy ending in Rebels just for some two-bit meaningless cameo in a show he had no connection to? Where's the logic in that? How does that make any sense? But no. That's all it was. And on damn top of it all, Kallus was never mentioned once in Ahsoka. Not once. Zeb is inexplicably away from Lira San with a job training recruits with no explanation as to how he decided to do it or how long he's been doing it or if Kallus is with him or even if Kallus is still alive.
All that time and effort was put the hell into trying to create a version of Zeb post-Rebels where he is explicitly not living on Lira San and there is no Kallus by his side.

bear in mind i haven’t actually watched any of the ahsoka show yet but if you think ezra was ever going to be off having a nuanced adventure with thrawn you weren’t paying enough attention to rebels. ezra’s not helping thrawn get anywhere. that was the whole point. thrawn could tell him whatever he wanted about the chiss ascendancy and ezra would just go “yeaaaah, nice try, grand admiral. i’ve been fooled with stuff like that before and i’m not falling for it again. we’re sitting RIGHT HERE until sabine comes to get me”

You know what? I think any and all scenarios that put Rex in a crossover or an AU where he ends up in a different universe should have him be 100% on board with whatever shenanigans he’s faced with. He winds up in, say the BBC Merlin or Once Upon A Time universe? Or the MCU teaming up with a young Peter Parker and/or Miles Morales? He’s utterly unfazed. Nothing throws him. Ahsoka is with him like “Rex, we’re totally out of our element here, be careful” and Rex is just like. “Ahsoka. We agreed to help this kid, which means I’m responsible for protecting a young, stubborn, hotshot with magical powers I don’t understand. No offense, vod’ika, but this is just another Tuesday for me.”
Just... Rex as a non-magical, non-superpowered, non-force sensitive character in every setting, who absolutely does not know the first thing about any of this stuff, but from the sheer repetition of dealing with Jedi nonsense (mainly Ahsoka’s nonsense) over so many years, has just developed a nonchalant, unblinking acceptance of the craziest stuff. Like, in superhero or fantasy settings you usually have the side-kick/best friend character a little confused like: “what’s going on? [explanation filled with complicated jargon] In ENGLISH, please!” But instead of that, Rex (who is NOBODY’S sidekick) is just there like; “The kid got bitten by a spider, now he’s magic, the Quarren-looking creature is the enemy, we need to secure the area and neutralize him with a serum injection before we can safely recover the hostage. Keep up, Shiny.”
Just...just picture Rex in a crossover situation where you have this young protagonist superhero/sorcerer/insert-genre-here who’s very green but also talented on their first serious mission scared out of their mind trying to save someone, trying to scramble for the quickest explanation they come up with to get Rex to trust them that “I know where they are I just can’t explain how I know, you just have to trust me” and Rex is like “Yeah, yeah, sure you can sense it. Lead the way, kid. Follow your instincts but don’t get into trouble without backup, okay. I’m right behind you.” The kid just stares at him wide-eyed for a second like “wait -- you, you belive me?” and Rex is just like “This ain’t my first rodeo, kid. Now get moving, time is of the essence here.”
