Other than being based on Ireland, what is the theme of this region?

Hello! I think it’s mostly based on Irish culture and history. The theme in my head is “Spirit and Soul” and it’s more for me to try and reconnect and rediscover all the cool culture and weird ass tales from my country!

But the secondary theme is really just improving my art, trying new things, discovering new ways of drawing and colouring digitally and having fun! This is a passion project to relax after work and for me to enjoy :)

INCREDIBLE, hard agree on all points. I’ve had Church on my tlt playlist from the get-go but always thought of it as a Harrow song so now I need to re-experience it as a John bop. I’m a semi-ironic 3OH!3 fan (unfortunately) but never considered it for tlt… Now that you’ve opened my eyes though, Love 2012 is absolutely my newly-minted-cult-leader!John anthem, especially the lines “flash flash television, give me your new religion” and “cha-ching for your soul, everything must go, kiss kiss on the lips of the apocalypse” which like. C’mon.

ooooooo, thats a hard one, i think i like that i walk through life as though mundane magic exists. fairies, magic, ghosts, elves, its all real and we cant see them but theres still comfort knowing we share the same world

also this is a good time as any to mention this, but i feel like theres been growing tension between bitch and the rest of the gang.

or rather, she wasnt shown to be as close with the rest as they are with each other (def not close w taylor, and she wasnt around for the group hang a while back so we didnt get to see what shes like with them. also even in the brutus chapter im pretty sure he only ever really mentions brian and always in a “my boss’s boss” way)

and now theres this. im guessing all of this is probably gonna culminate in some big fight where she threatens to leave the gang at some point

tw: Examples of reblog bait/people trying to guilt others into reblogging stuff. I am not actually saying the things below, they're just examples that I have seen.

I fucking hate when people say stuff like this. Especially when it's on a generally good post with valuable information. On the one hand I want to share that information because it could genuinely help someone; on the other, I don't want to spread this type of guilt-tripping and shaming and potentially trigger someone else like me. It's a lose-lose situation. No matter what I do, I am going to feel guilty. No matter what I do, I will feel like a terrible person. It sucks and I just wish people would stop doing this. I know it's shocking, but it is actually possible to make an important and useful post without guilting everyone that sees it into sharing.

#in general i just don't reblog anything that tries to guilt me into reblogging it #there have been so many times where i consider reblogging something and then see people saying the stuff above #and i automatically move along because i can't handle interacting with that sort of thing #moral ocd #serious #my thoughts

On related note, a few years ago, the Entomological Society of America officially discontinued the use of "gypsy moth" and "gyspy ant" as common names for Lymantria dispar and Aphaenogaster araneoides. L. Dispar is now known as the "spongy moth," so named for the appearance of their eggs, but I don't think a new common name has caught on for the ant species yet.

These changes we brought about, in large part, by the advocacy of Romani people in academia. You might not think that bug names are a very serious issue, but I believe that language matters. These species became known as "gypsies" because their attributes were likened to certain stereotypes and negative perceptions of actual Roma, so the continued use of those names reaffirmed those negative associations in the public consciousness. Slurs and pejoratives can never be truly decontexualized.

In my mind, one of the biggest obstacles that Romani people face when we are trying to advocate for ourselves is a lack of recognition as a marginalized group that deserves the necessary consideration. Even for seemingly trivial matters, like bugs or comic book characters, the way that people talk about us-- and talk down to us, when we get involved-- is telling. So, I always think that changes like this are a win, because it means that people are willing to learn and grant us the dignity we deserve. And there's nothing wrong with wanting to effect change in your own field, even arts and science.

I ordered some stuff for myself that I've been putting off, and I'm worn out from going to the store and all so I'm gonna lay down and rest for a bit. hopefully I get to hang out with them properly this evening.

Video game I saw in a dream. It was in this low poly style like an older video game. You play as this character I think was meant to be a lamb, or maybe a weird mix of a lamb a mouse and a rabbit, (while not really looking like any of those things) and you’re running away from a wolf. Your objective is to last as long as possible before the wolf catches and eats you.

The house you’re running in is endless and bizarrely put together like most building interiors in dreams are (like the infinite toilet dream dimension on Reddit lol) the layout of the house is pretty detailed, you can stop and hide in places like closets or bins while the wolf looks for you, you can go up and down stairs and into rooms etc.

You never actually know where the wolf is or how close it is to you until it appears in your line of sight, it makes no noise and the game gives you no way of knowing where it is, and it’s pretty unpredictable it doesnt move at a consistent pace. When the wolf catches you there’s an animation showing it eating your character

Love Is Not A Victory March!

WIP Info Game!

Love Is Not A Victory March is the fourth fic in The Time of Your Life series, which is roughly a soulmate timer AU rewrite of the first season of Jane the Virgin. Perhaps only the first half of the first season, if I'm really honest with myself about the scope of what that series was doing. (There would have been one more fic after.)

The file in question is the entire finished rough draft. It has been finished for three? years? at this point. It is also longer than the other three parts combined.

Love Is Not A Victory March also continued the pattern established by the other three fics, wherein it continued the forward motion left from the last fics (in this case, picking up pretty much immediately where the last fic left off, with Roman Zazo's death) but also focused in some detail on two of the main characters' timers - when they'd gone off (previously or in the fic at present), if they were still counting towards something, if they'd zeroed out and suddenly started counting again for no apparent reason, etc.

The first fic focused on Rose and Luisa's timers. The second fic focused on Jane's timer. The third fic focused on Rafael's timer. The fourth fic focused on Petra and Michael's timers.

Mostly, the intent with this fic once the rough was finished was to reread the other three fics and then do a second write with this one for consistency and cohesion before posting it. I didn't make it through rereading the third fic and didn't get around to the second write, although I keep saying I will - it keeps showing up on my goals for each year! I mean! It's an entirely finished rough draft; it shouldn't be that hard! And yet.

....

It's also nearly 75k and 20 chapters long. >.>;;;;;;

Point in her favor, Rose didn’t see any empty bottles. Point lost because Luisa was nowhere to be seen.

Rose took a deep breath. No Luisa in the suite. No video of Luisa leaving the suite.

That could only mean one thing.

Rose stepped out of the suite and turned down the hall, only to see Jane staring at a woman she knew all too well – one who shouldn’t have been here at all. She took a deep breath, shoving the worry and concern that only continued to grow even deeper into the center of her chest, trying to let them combine with her anger into something much more intimidating. It didn’t work.

Jane glanced up at Rose and raised an eyebrow. “Rose? Do you know who this is?” She gestured to the woman in front of her. “She says she’s here to see Rafael and that it’s an emergency. You don’t know her, do you?”

Rose took a deep breath and forced her jaw to unclench. “No,” she lied, meeting her other soulmate’s dark eyes with the harshest glare that she could. “I have never met this woman before in my life.”

Mutter just smiled and gave a little nod, glancing up at her in as demure a fashion as she could fake. “My name is Elena di Nola,” she answered, covering her tracks. “I’m Rafael’s mother, and I would very much like to see my son.”
