Three Hopes: Sylvain + his hairstyle

To put it simply, it comes down to: time required and ease.

During the storyline given in Azure Gleam, it’s very obvious that a lot is about to change very quickly. All around him, his friends are gaining their titles and ascending into their inherited roles in society. Meanwhile, Sylvain isn’t. He’s still pressed staunchly beneath his father, the Margrave, who believes he isn’t yet ready, he doesn’t yet have what it takes to become a Margrave - he’s too naïve. It’s due to this that Sylvain starts picking up as much responsibility as he possibly can, he needs to be able to contend with his friends somehow, right? Despite the facade of laziness he puts off, Sylvain is an incredibly diligent working, doing whatever he can do help out with those around him and help his battalion and those under him to insure their success on the battlefield.

Which doesn’t exactly allow for as extensive a hair routine as he would typically have and typically like.

What’s a two step, hair wash and push back, compared to that of an entire multi-step extensive process? He has stopped his ‘philanderer’ ways almost completely and has no need to cater his looks to the women who might be around him. So why waste the time?

He tried to keep up with it at first, to style it as he used to, then when the bangs became too long, too unruly and he wasn’t left with enough time to tend to them, he rushed. Running his hands through his hair with just enough hair serum to keep it pushed back before he was out the door, on his way to handle the next set of tasks he, or his father, set out for him to do.

After that, he found that he didn’t really mind it. He didn’t mind the lack of attention he got from women, didn’t mind how much quicker he could get out the door in the morning, and his father surely seemed pleased. So who was he to complain?

༓ʚ A Flower's Meaning ɞ༓

Summary: The Blue Lions react to you catching a bouquet at a friend’s wedding

༓Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd He watched you catch it without blinking or flinching, mainly just confused as the realization slowly took over your face as you finally met Dimitri’s gaze. There was something about how the flowers looked in your hands and the look that you gave him that made Dimitri feel so flustered. So pretty, is his single thought as Dimitri’s made his way to you, feet on autopilot.

༓Dedue Molinaro Dedue’s eyes were completely on you, holding the colorful flowers that all mean a term of love in language as everyone else is looking between you and him. He doesn’t flare up in a blush or appear startled but you can see Dedue is feeling embarrassedly flustered by the awkward stiffness of his movement as the tall man makes his way to you.

༓Felix Hugo Fraldarius Felix does not want to be here with unimportant people, if anything he wants to be comfortably at home with you. But he will admit that the other wedding is pretty. Felix wonders if you’ve ever thought about marriage, but any further thought of the subject changes when you catch the flowers that nearly smacked you in the face. The image of what you would look like holding yours flashed quickly in his thoughts as for once Felix quietly watched you.

༓Ashe Ubert A blush marked his freckled face with a happy smile but a shy expression at the teasing that Ashe knows his friends and siblings will give him as you walked over to him. Subconsciously Ashe reached out his hand for you to take, gently pulling you closer to his side as Ashe studied the flowers. The bouquet was pretty but it wasn’t your favorite, he thought to himself. The following thought is how beautiful you would look, holding your favorite flowers while neither Ashe nor you let go of each other’s hands because it felt like two missing puzzle pieces found a place to fit perfectly together.

༓Sylvain Jose Gautier Immediately starts to sweat nervously as the flowers are perfectly in your hand while his hand subconsciously touches his pocket where the ring is that he’s planning to ask your hand for later. He had been carrying it, not having a day or place in mind until right now. This is a sign, he thinks as you lock eyes with him and smile which he returns.

༓Mercedes von Martritz She was standing right beside you when you had caught the flowers, she leaned over to sniffle the flowers with a smile growing on her face as she looked up at you, pulling away from you but not before kissing your cheek. She giggled quietly at your reaction to the flowers and the kisses. She is going to tease you but this will bring up the thought of marriage and the future with her.

༓Annette Fantine Dominic Instantly a crimson blush blooms on her face as endless giggles of excited bundles of nerves, reaching how to touch one of the flowers’ petals. Annette went quiet, wondering what flowers she would pick for her wedding, she subconsciously looked at you. She isn’t going to say anything immediately today or tomorrow but there will be hints of marriage, hoping that you’ll catch on and talk about it with her.

༓Ingrid Brandl Galatea She never really thought deeply about marriage, it was just something that her father wanted for her. But when Ingrid saw your reaction to catching the bouquet to look for her and finally smiling when you found Ingrid, she wondered for a fleeting thought if you would smile like that at the altar. She can’t explain why it made her face blush although Ingrid didn’t hate that idea at all because without question she knows that Ingrid would say yes if you asked her.

it's hard to tell which one of the boys fell for you first

sylvain was the one who started flirting with you first, but he wasn't really serious about it right away

felix on the other hand never seemed to change much around you, even after falling in love with you, making it hard to know when exactly he realized his feelings for you

though there is one thing that starts to show that he's in love with you: he tries to keep you away from sylvain!

felix worries that you might end up falling for sylvain and tries to avoid you and the red head running into each other

of course, this only intrigues sylvain as he starts to notice it, suggesting that felix might be crushing on you and keeping you away from him for that reason

though when felix denies that he has feelings for you, sylvain starts to assume you're the one who's in love with him, which only piques his interest

he starts to seek you out more, flirting with you every chance he gets and before he knows it, sylvain fell for you as well

it takes the two boys a while to realize they both love you and once they do, it gets a little awkward between them

both suggest the other one should have you, but both deny as well. in the end, they settle on fighting for you and the better one wins!

sylvain continues his usual flirting with you, often taking you on dates as well, while felix attempts to have more time with you than sylvain, without actually having to call it a date or admit to his feelings

felix also likes to play dirty, telling you small lies like "sylvain won't be joining us today" so he'll have you to himself or he'll cover your eyes when sylvain is does something impress during training, to prevent you from seeing it

Hey I don't know who needs to hear this but it's not cool to invalidate POC headcanon made by POC by using entomology. We shouldn't need to "prove" or justify our headcanon. If you disagree, keep it to yourself.

Whenever I say that Petra is Hawaiian/Polynesian coded, I always get someone who's like "But Brigid is an Irish word" or "But her last name is Macneary and that's Scottish" Literally shut up, I do not care.

Or when I say Sylvain being Latino is cool and people are like "but Jose is the French pronunciation" shut up!!!!

tis the season everybody!! Halloween headcanon time. Caspar wears a ghost costume but forgets to cut eye holes. Hubert doesn’t wear a costume but everyone tells him “wow sick vampire costume.” Dimitri forgot about halloween but mercedes(she is greg from over the garden wall) drew whiskers on him with eyeliner. he was already wearing all black. he is a black cat. Hapi and Constance dress up as each other but nobody noticed because their disguises were too good. Sylvain showed up in a speedo. Linhardt thought Caspar was a bean bag and fell asleep on him. Lorenz has the most gorgeous masquerade mask anyone has ever seen. Edelgard’s fake gore makeup is suspiciously good. When you ask how she did it, she tells you that it was Hubert. Please share ur Halloween headcanons too

✦ :: A few FE3H characters and their scents

@supershiny-raven and I decided to come up with some ideas on how a handful of characters would potentially smell/wear as perfume or cologne.

These are only fun little thoughts we made. Whether you disagree or agree is up to you. If you want to share more, feel free reblog.

✧ :: Sylvain Jose Gautier

I feel like he’d definitely have a musky yet lavishing aroma. Like it’s masculine but very inviting, at the same time. In my head, I figured something such as orange blossoms and cedarwood (with maybe a hint of coconut) I like to hc that he’s got fluffy and loose locks, so most products would be coconut scented (modern-wise, at least) He’s obviously an erotic/flirtatious character. The more bitter/citrus part of his scent would complement that, and the sweeter bits would feel like a trance almost. It fits his character well, I think. He pleasantly draws people in with a lovingly, overwhelming aroma.

✧ :: Felix Hugo Fraldarius

I was a bit stuck on this because of the fact that he’d mostly smell like the training grounds, whetstones, or even weaponry; however, aside from those aspects, he might give off a spicy aroma. There’s probably a nature/airy base or something, but for the most part, he’d smell like a rosy bonfire. Like scandalwood, birchwood, amber, and moss. Perhaps cedarwood like Sylvain. I’d probably say scandalwood and birchwood though. Felix just feels like he’d have a bitter/spicy scent. Something that immediately grabs your attention, but not in an odd way. Its simply striking and sharp smelling. Exactly how he likes to keep his blades, along with his outer attitude too.

✧ :: Claude Von Riegan

I’m not sure why, but he was pretty hard to think of a scent for. I figured he’d smell spicy yet musky/mossy. Not legitimately spicy like Felix, but something with a kick to it, at least. My guess for this was apple spice, bergamot, and amber. I was also trying to take into consideration Almyra for his scent, but apple spice seemed to match the particular spiciness I was looking for. I wouldn’t doubt that there’s definitely a better substitute for him; however, I think this combination fits well. Its complex just like him.

✧ :: Byleth Eisner (Female)

Ray came up with this scent for Byleth. They felt like something clean/fresh yet sweet (such as fruity/floral) would fit her best. Perhaps a zen garden with a bit of a berry aroma (and even peonies) She seems like she’d smell like the monastery, honestly. Like her dorm is basically how she smells 24/7. With all of her students always gifting her lovely flowers, it makes complete sense for Byleth to give off a floral freshness or berry bliss.

✧ :: Edelgard Von Hresvelg

This was another one that was a tad difficult because of her pairings. I immediately wanted to give her a perfume that she might wear while out with a girlfriend or partner, in general, but I mostly considered her, for the most part. Because of that, I feel like she’d have a citrus scent with a bubbly sweetness to it. I was thinking something with lemon and lavender (maybe a few berries) Edelgard seems like she’d have a crisp yet bitter citrus smell to her, blended together with a floral/berry sweetness. She’s fierce yet cute all in one.

✧ :: Ferdinand Von Aegir

Okay, listen, here me out…but Ferdinand is definitely someone who’s ordering a pumpkin spice latte during the fall. I’m not sure what else to say aside from that about him because he’d absolutely smell like pumpkin spice with a nice bergamot and cedarwood accent. He’d have a sweet spicy smell to him. Like a peaceful tea time or something. He’d just smell very noblest/elegant. Because he’s Ferdinand Von Aegir, of course.

✧ :: Dorothea Arnault

I made her scent similar to Sylvain’s with the whole flirty/lovely aromas, but unlike Sylvain, Dorothea doesn’t need to entice people with her beauty. The people come to her initially. Like a love spell or entrancement. She’d smell downright luxurious and sweet (with floral hints for sure) Dorothea gives off blossoms and orchids aromas. She smells like an entire bouquet, basically, and everyone is just drawn to the flowery scent. She is the pique definition of beauty.

✧ :: Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Ray made this one too. They were mostly thinking of his post-war designs/life as the King of Faerghus. It was concluded that Dimitri would probably smell more mature perhaps. Similar to Byleth, he’d just smell like his palace mostly, which seems welcoming yet classy. Like warm leather, vanilla, and blackberry. I can picture him wearing colors such as the ones in his post-timeskip designs with a pleasant warm aroma. It’s refreshing into a new beginning for Faerghus.
