"MILD SPOILERS BUT NOT FOR ANY MAJOR PLOT BEATS:

Brad's entire character is defined by their inability to express emotion. They're so unbelievably sealed off about the trauma of their sister's death that it literally follows them everywhere in more ways than one. I think embracing femininity (by their own standards, toxic masculinity is a huge theme in this game, most applicable to Brad) would help.

There are three scenes of him wearing women's makeup and/or in drag that are of interest to me here.

1. Brad's daughter puts makeup on him and his friends. This is notably one of the few times they're seen visibly happy and, in sequel dialogue, it's revealed that this is an especially odd thing for Brad to allow to happen to them.

2. Brad ends up working at a brothel and volunteers not just to strip to his underwear like some of the other workers, but to wear makeup and a dress.

3. After a secret boss fight, Brad is mentioned to have had his sister put makeup on him to cover up bruises. It's revealed in that same conversation that they didn't care about hiding the bruises, they just wanted to go through they Mom's things." - Anonymous

Gender headcanon: genderfluid polygender manwomandox genderfree.

Why would transition save them?: "Dan is an inherently kind of genderfluid character that fucks with gender roles in a sense of having kind of a weird gender sorta thing where they both openly seem to identify as a woman and a man at the seem time, and yet also apply aspects of neither gender to themselves. Examples include Dan calling themself terms like "man" or calling their mascot based off themself "Saikyo Boy" while also using the terms "businesswoman" and even "bijin" for themself, and having an affinity for nonconventional dress. Plus, I think it'd help their narrative with them moving past their father by realizing they don't have to live up to manhood or masculinity to make their (dead) father proud and that their father would accept them no matter what they are." -mod @sunkern-plus

geeky i don't think i have the Energy at the moment to get invested in dragon ball + z +super at the moment BUT. you know a headcanon i've always had about dbz: frieza is transfem. i rarely ever have transfem headcanons for evil characters much less evil cis men but in between frieza being voiced by a woman to her more feminine-androgynous appearance and her whole "alien mother" vibes...she's committing woman's wrongs. she's like if margaret thatcher was sexy. frieza is the SEXIEST evil trans woman alive to me. she commits woman's wrongs and i love her for it

I tend to think about certain interpretations of sf characters too. I like how flowy Ryu's gi(?) was in either sf3 or alpha and my favorite Dan is torn between his kind of long face in alpha or the type of face nearly everyone (dan too) had in 4 that felt very comic book-y and exaggerated. To the point a preview of one of the Guilty Gear games mocked it with a fight against the real Sol Badguy and a fake Sol who was all sf4 looking. I like it tho tbh

saw your post in the doggender tag (because i'm desperately looking for more doggender related content that isn't made by...weird creeps :sob:) and saw that you headcanon kara danvers as doggender and that is SOOOOOO true. i think clark kent is also doggender and specifically like. australian shepherd type (kara is goldendoodle type because she would call herself a golden retriever pupfriend i know this because i love kara danvers). and also karen starr/power girl is canisgender but more wolfgender/coyotegender bigender (to fit her tough persona and "lone wolf" attitude compared to the rest of the superfam).

if i ever get street fighter v i am planning on checking out dan :) i watched a bit of gameplay when he first released for that game and he does look like someone i'd play i only tried him once in like alpha and yeah he's definitely someone i'd pick up also i'm a bit familiar with since i do play yuri sakazaki and ryo so like yeah

(gonna submit an obscure street fighter character who's not playable, but she DOES canonically have chronic back pain from an injury from wrestling) yoko harmageddon/yoko harumage wears a back brace (canon) and uses a motorized wheelchair for long distances (headcanon)!

DAN HIBIKI from STREET FIGHTER

JUSTIFICATION:

"Although I personally headcanon them as nondysphoric genderfree (as in lacking gender in a fluid, free, whimsical way) I can see so many cases for Dan to be a trans woman or transfeminine nonbinary it's not even funny. To start off, although their appearance is heavily based off the very masculine Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia (albeit chubbier than the two), their personality is based off the very much a tomboyish with a girly streak girl Yuri Sakazaki. In addition, starting from IV onward, they say lines that very much imply they lean in a transfeminine direction, albeit without changing their pronouns like an onee character (those characters are typically transfeminine or transfeminine coded) would. For instance, in one of their winquotes to C. Viper, at least in English, they say "you're a businesswoman? That's what I do too!" Implying they at least partially see themselves as a woman. Street Fighter V takes this even further with lines in the shop quotes (they run the in game shop) implying they have worn schoolgirl skirts, implying they want to wear a bikini, and even saying "You know who would look hot as a woman? If you guessed me, give yourself ten points!" in reference to the Demitri costume Ed has as DLC. The Japanese version of this quote takes it a step further with them calling themself a "number one bijin" in reference to the costume, with bijin being a gender neutral leaning feminine term for beautiful person. Gender identity: Pangender/genderfluid + egogender

Why would transition save them?: "Ok listen, this is not a “this character is nonbinary because they are gender less and therefore are nonbinary by default” thing but a “they don’t have a full grasp of gender identity and therefore feels disconnected to the concept of it” thing. I feel like Buu would start to question their gender identity when someone asks her about his gender (in a “are you a boy or a girl” way) and Buu would tilt it’s head and go “Buu isn’t boy or girl, Buu is Buu.” And then he would have to have someone else to explain to them (like Mr. Satan) about gender and how some people are boys while others are girls. I also think that if someone were to ask Buu’s pronouns she’ll probably say “pronouns? What’s that? Is it tasty?” And then end up not caring about what pronouns people refer to it. I feel like Buu would end up feeling like an outcast due to neither feeling like a boy or a girl and then end up being told “yah know Buu, you don’t have to be either male or female, there’s always plenty of other genders out there that might be more fitting for you.” So they would end up learning about all kinds of nonbinary identities before settling on the ones that are right for him. And I think she’ll probably identify as Egogender because it’s not a boy or a girl, Buu is Buu and his gender is Buu. Also their outfit is literally the same color as the nonbinary flag."--@saikyo-rat
