As a whole? Stuckies, oh my god. I know there’s a couple outliers here, on this blog, who might see this and Stucky’s your jam, and if you’re still here that means you probably mind your own business and quietly roll your eyes at most of my shipping content. Not talking to you guys. Talking to Stuckies who have entirely fanon dynamics/interpretations of Steve and Bucky and their relationship, but treat that as canon. Talking to the ones who hate on female characters for…existing, I guess. The ones who call you homophobic if you don’t share their ship, and especially the ones who have no fucking clue what actual queerbaiting is.

"Madame Maximoff's Myriad of Mysteries?"

Therese doesn't particularly want to go see some random Freakshow in some little abandoned farm outside the city, it seems like a terrible idea. But her lack of socialization with coworkers and other friends makes her seem antisocial, strange, and well, Carol socializes with Abby and others so why not?

Just one night out. Danny thinks it'll be great fun, even better than the Coney Island ones from what he's heard, real legitimate magic like nothing they've ever seen before, and she'll have so many opportunities for photos of new and strange things she'd never see otherwise.

And he's right, it's... it's like nothing she's ever been to.

There women stronger than Steve there lifting weights, contorting like real acrobats, using their strength to balance off of each other, a man with a bow who doesn't miss a single shot he takes, the fastest man alive who uses a globe of death on his own, and there's Madame Maximoff herself who... what did she do?

What did any of them do?

Therese knows what the acts were, she knows she saw them, she knows she was there, but the more she thinks about them, the less she can summon to her mind. There aren't any solid details, or descriptions, no faces, just a weird shimmering vagueness to it.

The woman - Maximoff? - descending like an angel, flying, floating from the skies, but that's not possible, there's no way she could have.

Therese leaves feeling more unsettled than she's ever felt, unable to really explain anything she's just seen, leaves wondering if maybe she's been drugged.

The photos she took look like something Rindy would have taken. They're all out of focus like she's trying to photograph something only inches away, instead of yards away. The subjects seem to exist in vague blurs, outlines, faces never looking quite in her direction, and a dark haze of something, someone, in midair.

But it has to have just been something strange, a fluke, too tired from work maybe and she dozed off. It has to be. Things like that don't happen to someone who doesn't work in New Jersey with Steve and Peggy.

She can't bring it up to Steve, he'd probably laugh at her and if he didn't it'd still just be a waste of whatever resources it is the place that doesn't exist that he definitely doesn't work for has.

Instead she asks Carol to go back with her, inviting Abby and her girlfriend Rose on a double date.

If she doesn't explain to Abby and Rose, then they won't be on the lookout for anything bizarre beyond a normal freak show. They wont' be biased, and working with the news, Therese has to avoid biased reporting. Carol tells them it "Creeped Therese out" and Abby agrees just for the amusement value there.

Inside she clutches her camera, clutches Carol's hand, and takes a deep breath as the lights go out.

And then they're outside again, stood in the cool night air, and her camera has no film left, no more room for photos.

She knows then it wasn't normal, it wasn't right.

It couldn't have been human.

It's not drugs, Rose says almost listing to herself with a fairly pale face, it's not drugs because she's been given many, many drugs in training and to become immune to them or learn to spot them and this wasn't a drug, and this wasn't a gas. This isn't midnight oil, this isn't human in origin it can't be.

If it is... God help them.

"We have to get to Carters. We-- oh god, we have unknown enhanced in New York."

"What does that mean?"

"I don't-- It's an unknown unknown. I need to get to work. Get home, shower, drink --- drink a lot of water okay? On the off chance I'm wrong... Abby, go with them, do not leave them. Therese- don't let that camera out of your sight."

They spend the night restless, not sleeping, Therese fussing over her photos desperate to find any of them that show anything at all.

By time morning comes, and Steve comes round to gather them up, she has exactly one photo that developed into anything at all.

One photo of a fairly young face, with glowing eyes, staring directly into the lens.

Not human, not normal.

Definitely not like Steve.

"Unknown enhanced."

Maybe staying anti-social would have been the better plan.

Sharon should’ve been the lead in TWS, Natasha could’ve made an appearance(like a cameo) so that way Sharon and Steve’s romance could blossom the right way. Peggy and him weren’t even dating at the time of TFA, she moves on from him in Agent Carter anyhow. Endgame should’ve ended with Steve saying goodbye to Peggy on last time and then coming home, retiring for a life with Sharon and the shield going to Sam.

So the first thing I’m going to say here is that we don’t need to diminish other female characters in order to promote Sharon. Yes, Sharon should have gotten more screen time in CA:TWS if she was going to be the CFLI (I skipped CW and IW so I can’t comment), but we don’t need to diminish Natasha. Also, I’m gonna point out that Steve asked Sharon out at the end of CA:TWS and she declined, but left the door open for later. I don’t blame her for doing so bc I don’t think Steve was ready to move on and being the rebound isn’t fun.

On the note of Peggy, if she wasn’t dating Steve - and we don’t know that for sure afaik, that was entirely a formality. I’m not gonna pretend I’m not an ardent Steggy shipper and literally the only thing I can say for the shitshow that was Endgame is that there’s more Stegginelli but again, we don’t need push Sharon at Peggy’s expense. That Steve went back to her instead of finishing his character arc is entirely due to shitty, lazy writing from the Russo Brothers. Peggy was done. She didn’t need this and this nonsense erases not only her character development but her previously canon love interest (hat tip to mod M for reminding me of this in our chat).

The directors had three whole, unbearable fucking hours to do justice to Sharon, Nat, Tony, Steve, Thor, and the others, and they didn’t because they are shitty at anything with character development. And in fairness, that’s a lot of shit to do in one movie but they squandered so much time with bullshit. Place the blame where it belongs instead of attempting to push Nat and Peggy out of their places.

That said, I do agree that Steve should have retired, passed on the mantle to Sam, and idk, been Sharon’s house spouse or gone to art school or whatever the fuck he wanted to do with the rest of his life, instead of aging like Joe fucking Biden and destroying multiple movies’ worth of character development.

STEVE ROGERS/PEGGY CARTER

Margaret, May I? seems to be what I’m “known for” but I’ve got a few others as well. MMI is a collection of one-shot stories with no particular common thread except for the “Domestic Steggy” plot-line that I’ve used in a few of them. Below are my two favorites that I’ve written outside of there.

She said, "Can I see you later and love you just a little more?"

It's been over two years since the Valkyrie went down; since their life together came to a screeching halt before it even got a chance to start. It's been two years of using what resources could be spared searching and dogged determination to bring him home. At the very least, after all that the War and the SSR had taken from Steve, they could try to give him a proper burial beside his mother in Brooklyn to go with the Irish funeral they'd all given him after the smoke had cleared and they were all safely back at headquarters. To deal with her grief, Peggy does the only thing that seems truly reasonable: throwing herself into her work. She was doing well, moving on, until a ghost walked into her office and told her she was late.

It's a sweltering early fall in Brooklyn. Steve is just getting by, trying to adjust to civilian life after being discharged from the Army. Neither he nor Peggy is pleased with the current state of affairs regarding his treatment by the SSR or in popular media and the heat only makes the tension more tense. The pair tries in earnest to stay positive, but sometimes jokes just aren't enough. After teasing Peggy about crooked stockings, Steve decides to take up the challenge she issues in jest and his evening gets considerably better.

I really just wanted Angie to get some loving from her favorite lady and who I think would be her favorite guy if they ever had the chance to meet, and the same for Peggy. This is my first attempt at this OT3.
