Comfort and self expression are two of the most important components to good design and style in my professional opinion. As I’ve been highlighting female performers’ stage style from my favorite music festival @fingerlakesgrassrootsfest I’ve loved sharing what makes these powerhouse musicians feel comfortable and helps them express themselves. It was really inspiring to hear from @thehousethatbyrnebuilt, @driftwoodtheband band member. Please check out the short Stage Style Spotlight video I recently posted! And here is Claire Byrne’s full response to me asking about her stage style and what the decision making process behind it entails: “I’d say my stage-style can be described as feminine, strong and comfortable. I always choose darker colors and rarely choose fabric with a pattern. I don’t want to stand out from my band mates by choosing an outfit that doesn’t blend with theirs. I always wear tights and boots because I like the way they make me feel. In the past, I was always trying to find the most unique clothing I possibly could but that was a lot of work and led to a lot of “dud” outfits. I’m not one for too many frills (although I don’t mind a ruffled sleeve occasionally) and I prefer a straight skirt. I guess I don’t like to come off as too “girly” and I don’t like a lot of fabric flowing around me. The clothes I choose to wear make a big difference in how I feel and carry myself. Lights, Camera, Realism

I recently had the distinct pleasure of performing alongside the incredibly gifted Sarahbeth Zohrehvand in a powerful scene from "Come Pour the Wine." The moment serves as a crucible for the married couple, Janet and Bill, navigating the tumultuous waters of an impending divorce.

Sarahbeth's acumen in memorizing lines is commendable, but it is her depth in character development that truly brings a narrative to life. Our synergy on camera allowed us to probe the emotional complexities of our characters, resulting in a performance marked by authenticity and emotional gravitas.

As Anthony Hopkins wisely notes, "I am one of those actors who believes that you cannot be a good actor unless you are studying all the time, constantly working at it." This ethos underpins my own philosophy toward acting. Scene studies, ongoing education, and classes are not mere formalities; they are the bedrock of lasting artistry.

In a world often seduced by the superficial, it is crucial to keep sharpening one's craft and to strive for the unattainable perfection that is the hallmark of any true artist. Because the journey itself is the destination, and every scene is a unique opportunity for growth and enlightenment.
