10 Practices for Low-Energy Witches
Tumblr media
Daily affirmations: Start your day by setting an intention or saying a positive affirmation that aligns with your goals and values. This can help you stay focused and grounded throughout the day.
Gratitude journaling: Take a few minutes each day to write down three things you're grateful for. This can help cultivate a sense of appreciation and abundance in your life.
Mindful breathing: Take a few deep, mindful breaths throughout the day to center yourself and release any tension or stress.
Moon-watching: Take a few moments to observe the moon each night, noting its phase and any changes in its appearance. You can also keep a moon journal to track your observations and feelings.
Elemental meditation: Spend a few minutes each day meditating on the elements (earth, air, fire, water) and their associated qualities. You can visualize yourself surrounded by each element and focus on how they make you feel.
Herbal tea rituals: Incorporate herbal teas into your daily routine and take a few moments to mindfully prepare and enjoy them. You can also research the magical properties of different herbs and choose teas based on their correspondences.
Candle magic: Light a candle and set an intention for the day or visualize your goals and desires coming to fruition. You can also choose candles based on their color correspondences for added potency.
Sigil drawing: Create a simple sigil to represent your intention or desire, and draw it on your skin, clothing, or a piece of paper. You can also charge your sigil with energy by visualizing it glowing with light or energy.
Crystal charging: Choose a crystal that aligns with your intention or desired outcome and hold it in your hand or place it on your body. Visualize the crystal absorbing your energy and amplifying your intentions.
Nature appreciation: Take a few moments each day to appreciate the natural world around you, whether it's the beauty of a flower or the majesty of a tree. You can also connect with nature by taking a walk, gardening, or spending time in a park or forest.
Remember, these are just a few examples of simple, low-energy witchcraft practices you can incorporate into your daily routine. The most important thing is to find practices that resonate with you and align with your personal values and beliefs.
It's important to remember that everyone's energy levels and circumstances are different, and there may be times when you simply don't have the energy or motivation to practice witchcraft. This doesn't make you any less of a witch, or any less magickal. It's okay to take a break and focus on self-care and nurturing yourself. Remember, your magick is always within you, and you can connect with it in your own way, on your own time. Be kind and gentle with yourself, and trust that the universe will support you wherever you are on your journey.

Apollon's Blessing Deity Oil
"APOLLON (Apollo) was the Olympian god of prophecy and oracles, music, song and poetry, archery, healing, plague and disease, and the protection of the young." - Theoi
I actively work with Lord Apollon for my health and Herbalism. He aids me with knowledge along with helping me with my chronic pain and chronic fatigue. I venerate him on Sundays as that is the planetary day of the sun.
I made an oil for him to call upon him. I use it to carry him with me and as a candle-dressing. It helps me with my intuition, my mental/physical health (I am in no way claiming this will heal you. This is a personal association) and creativity.
You will need
Clean and cleansed bottle to place oil in
Chamomile - The Sun, stress, insomnia, anxiety, banish negativity
Rosemary - The Sun, mental clarity (to lift brain fog), memory and concentration
Bay Leaf- The Sun, healing, inspiration, creativity,
Cypress - The Sun, healing (traditionally eternal life and the continuity of the soul), strength, protection, historical plant
Carrier Olive Oil - Fire, protection, historical offering
You can either do the folk method or the hot method. You can find my post on infused oils here to learn how to make infused spell oils. I suggest if you are an animist or someone who wants more power from your oils. Speak to the herbs kindly, treat them less like an ingredient and ask them respectfully for their aid and the purpose they'll have in your oil. Use intention. The same goes for the Olive oil.
You can sub any of these, however, Cypress is historical for him. Try to keep herbs within the theme of the sun, fire and healing for his oil. Olive oil is a traditional offering for example.
Blessings!

When you're in a flare-up and you still want to do something, so you just lie on the couch looking up at the ceiling going "deities, spirits, ancestors, elements, I'm tired as fuck but I love you all!"

Saw your response to the "spiritual signs or mental illness?" post and wanted to ask kind of the opposite question (been meaning to for a while now). I have anxiety, obsessive thought patterns, and maybe autism (among other diagnosed conditions). I do a couple things that would qualify as "banishing negativity" like shaking my hands out or doing things in 3s. I view it as similar to some Christians completing the sign of the cross or other religions warding off the evil eye. However, I am aware that my conditions make me more prone (?) to such repetitive behaviors. My question is this: do my mental conditions make these witchy acts unnecessary, negated, or less-than in any way? I can anticipate part of your answer, but I was curious to your thoughts and how you and other witches with neurodivergence navigate the distinction between what is practice and what is a part of operating in this world from a neurodivergent perspective. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
Speaking as a witch who also finds herself falling into fatalistic and semi-obsessive thought patterns thanks to anxiety and ADHD, let me assure you that this does not, in ANY way, make you less of a witch.
There are long-standing traditions which hold that certain things should be done in certain multiples during prayer, spellcasting, or suchlike, and three is a very commonly-referenced number. If you find yourself prone to doing things in threes and you choose to make that part of your Banish Negativity ritual, that is still witchcraft. And if you feel it is needed and effective, then the fact that you're incorporating your repetitive behaviors does not negate it. Really, you're just taking something you'd be doing anyway and giving it magical significance, which is something that modern witches do all the time, regardless of the state to their mental health.
Plenty of witches have some form of neurodivergence. While it may mean that we need to navigate magical theory and practice a little differently, that's really no different from needing to navigate LIFE a little differently. What we choose to make a part of our personal practices varies greatly, and sometimes that means altering things a bit to fit our physical and mental health needs and capabilities. But the craft meets us where we are and regardless of whether we shake out that negativity in multiples of three or say our incantations in silence or trace our containment figures in the air instead of walking them out, we are still witches.
Hope this helps!

✨ Low-Spoons Witch Tip: ✨
I found these Nature’s Truth essential oil blend sprays at Rite Aid a while ago and I’ve been able to get a few different scents there (lavender, peppermint)
I use the sprays to help energize me and keep me focused (peppermint) and to help me relax and sleep (lavender). They really help with emotional regulation too. I originally bought the lavender one to help me sleep peacefully because I was having really bad PTSD flare ups and it helped SO much!
And they smell amazing!!! 💕 I was actually really impressed by the lavender one because it smelled so good!
Before bed, I spray the lavender one on my pillow to help me sleep and give my dream jar spell a good shake to promote vivid dreaming and dream recall.
✨ Witchcraft doesn’t have to be complicated or fancy ✨

There is a lot about me and my life. You would eventually learn about (some of) them.
Tumblr media
The stars, sky, light & color are everything…
Let’s take a moment and acknowledge a deep gratitude for being able to see. When everything feels so dark and hopeless; think about the strength and fortitude of blind people, for instance. Close your eyes and envision a life in the dark for a minute. Then go back to yourself, open your eyes and pick 3 things you can see at your presence — say it out loud: “I can see …”
Finally, say: “Thank you.”
Know that there is always someone out there who has way worse issues and conditions. Being thankful is one of the best methods of grounding, preserving one’s sanity and receiving blessings from the divine forces.
So blessed be ✨

Today I stay in my room and rest. There’s no shame in resting, idc what able-bodied people say. One of the most important things I do when I feel more energy is I make my bedroom a nice sanctuary so that when I’m bedridden I don’t feel icky or upset staying in my bedroom! -Velvet Rose 🌹

Hex Positive, Ep. 031 - Witching with ADHD with Lozzie Stardust
Now available on your favorite podcatcher!
This month, I wanted to talk about a subject near and dear to my own heart - what it’s like to be a witch with ADHD. I invited my good buddy and everyone’s favorite horrible goose, Lozzie Stardust, to join me for the discussion. Buuuut since we’re both in the club, things went off the rails pretty quickly. (We regret nothing. 😅)
So we wound up having a rollicking discussion on how to be a witch with ADHD and also providing a window into what it’s like to actually have this condition. (If the content of this episode resonates strongly with you and you have never been tested for or diagnosed with ADHD, you may want to look into it.)

Best tip I can offer for devotional days is wearing devotional oils when you lack energy. When your bones are heavy with fatigue and pain. It’s something you can place on your bedside table or leave on their altar space. Try your hand at making an infused oil. If you cannot make an infused deity oil store bought is completely fine.
I like to wear them as an act of devotion. I’ll dedicate my day of rest to my deities, which will help me carry them with me. It adds that extra bit of magic I need to the mundane to make me feel like I’m doing more. Sometimes, devoting rest does not feel like enough (even though it is), so this feels like a good remedy.
Check out my Infused Oils post if you want a how-to on creating oils.

Glamour Spell for Those who Do Not Want to be Percieved on a Foggy/Grey Day 😶‍🌫️
Tumblr media
1. Say the following aloud or in your head. Say as many times as you want.
"Fog, cover me. Keep me safe as a secret. Let none discover me. Make me impossible to detect."
2.* Breathe in, visualizing the fog entering your body. Breathe out, visualizing the fog beginning to cacoon your body like a blanket. Continue this until your body is fully emcompassed with fog.
*If you cannot visualize, just focus on the fog and continue chanting until you feel that the spell has taken effect.
Tumblr media
Optional Additions:
- add sigils representing concealment to your body
- wear clothes with colors that represent protection or concealment
- veil if that is part of your practice
That's All!

💨🍃 Clear Your Head spell 🪟💨
Tumblr media
I struggle with brain fog, so I put this little ritual together to help clear it out from time to time. It's low energy and doesn't require any fancy materials, so hopefully this is accessible to other spoonies and budget witches <3
Description:
A customizable ritual to help clear brain fog and cobwebs from your mind, while also reminding you to hydrate and take any meds or vitamins you need. (Disclaimer: Not a replacement for medicine! PLEASE talk to your doctor if you experience bad brain fog.)
Materials:
🪟 A window you can open or a fan.
💧 A refreshing drink.
🎐 One or more things that represent the wind to you. Could be a feather, a leaf, a photo of the sky, a song, anything.
💊 Any medication or vitamins you need. I've even done this with tylenol for a headache.
🍪 Bring a snack if any meds need to be taken with food (optional).
Optional Setup:
📱 If they make your brain fog worse, turn off any electronics (or at least notifications) and put them away. Personally, I wrap my phone up in a dollar store bandana with selenite and tourmaline and throw it in a drawer.
🌬️ Do any of your usual pre-spell rituals if you have them: Draw up a protective circle, set up a quiet space, do an offering and call on any deities, etc.
Directions:
• Get your drink and any medication you need. Crack a window (or turn that fan on) and settle in front of it.
• Place your windy item(s) between you and the window/fan and make sure to secure anything that might get blown away.
• Breathe in deeply and feel the breeze on your skin.
• Sip your drink and take your meds or vitamins. Follow with a snack if they have to be taken with food.
• Turn one side of your face towards the breeze and imagine it blowing through one ear and out the other, taking all the dust and debris with it. Switch sides and repeat.
• Then spend as long or as little at you want just hanging around the open window/fan. You don't have to sit still for this either! In fact, I've found moving around a little (like rocking, fidgeting, or doing something else with your hands) helps get the stale energy out.
• The spell is done whenever you finish your drink. You can keep the window open or fan going as long as you'd like to keep freshening up your space.
And that's it! Feel free to adapt any parts of this to make it more meaningful or applicable to you. Hope it helps or inspires <3

How I accidentally charmed my jewelry:
"Oh, you'll be helpful today, you always help me feel a certain way."
Rinse and repeat and the item of jewelry evokes that specific feeling stronger and stronger each time.
Just look at what you wear with more intention, understanding that each item helps evoke a new aura that you and others can both feel.

Witchy hot take:
The ingredients in home brewed rootbeer are ingredients for protection and prosperity spells. Even if the process of making modern rootbeer is artificial now, the symbolism of the ingredients are still there. So if your coven isnt making rootbeer floats on the regular, wtf are you even doing?
