Dean x reader
Word Count- 3885
Warnings- SMUT, idiots in love, mutual pining
A/N- I was listening to my playlist, and "Cry To Me" by Solomon Burke played, and this whole fic played out in my mind, so I had to write it! I really hope you all enjoy it as much as I did writing it!
Dean was walking through the bunker, wondering where Y/N had disappeared to. One minute she was sitting at the table in the library, and when he came back in from the garage, she was gone. It wasn’t uncommon for her to disappear somewhere in the bunker, but he needed to do a supply run and wanted to ask her if she needed anything.
He caught himself wanting, no, needing to make sure she was okay lately, checking in with her before he even asked Sam if he needed anything. He knew why but didn’t want to admit it out loud. Dean was ass over tea kettle in love with Y/N. How could he not be? She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on, not to mention that she could hold her own on any hunt put before her. She was smart. As he would put it, she was Sammy smart. She knew her lore just as well as his brother, and that was impressive, considering Sam was a giant, walking encyclopedia.
He and Y/N had been friends for years. She had moved into the bunker with them not long after he and Sam had discovered its existence. But they had known each other long before that. Bobby had introduced her to the brothers shortly after John’s death. Her father had been a hunting buddy of Bobby’s, and he had taken her in when her father had gotten killed on a hunt. Granted, she was twenty-four when her father died, but Bobby didn’t want her to be out there on her own. Dean had been smitten from the first time he had seen her but never acted on it, happy to have her as a friend until lately. Now, she was all he could think about, and to be honest, it was scaring the shit out of him.
His thoughts were interrupted as he walked upon her door. What sounded like her TV on had gotten his attention. He peeked in her cracked door and couldn’t help but smile at the sight before him. Y/N was sitting cross-legged on her bed, her hair up in a messy bun, her eyes glued to the movie playing in front of her. Even in her old pajamas, her hair a mess on top of her head, Dean had never seen anything as beautiful. His heart fluttered in his chest as he looked at her, a smile pulling at his lips as he knocked on her door to let her know he was there. He could stand there and watch her all day, but he didn’t want her to catch him staring and think he was a creep.
“Hey, Y/N. I’m heading out on a supply run. Do you need anything?” he asked, smirking as her eyes never left the TV to look at him.
“Nah, I’m good.”
“Movie that good, huh?” he laughed, finally making her break her eyes away and look at him.
“Damn right it is,” she exclaimed loudly, a small giggle leaving her, making Dean’s heart flutter yet again, “It’s one of my favorite movies.”
“Really? Dirty Dancing is one of your favorites?”
“Absolutely! It’s a classic!”
“I don’t know about that,” he chuckled, trying to aggravate her. He loved when he could get her flustered. It was the cutest damn thing.
“Are you serious right now?! It’s so romantic. Especially this scene,” she sighed dreamily as she turned her attention back to the movie.
Dean looked up to see it was the scene where Johnny was dancing with Baby in his cabin. Yes, he knew this scene, as he had seen this movie before. Swayze always gets a pass!
“Women really find this stuff romantic?” he questioned, watching her reaction closely.
“Yes,” she replied softly, watching the scene intently, “And a man that can dance is just sexy.”
His heart almost stopped when she smiled and winked at him, her gaze swiftly returning to the movie. He watched her as she continued to watch, her expression was soft, and did he see want in her eyes as she watched the two on TV dance together?
Little did he know that he was right. Her heart beat faster as she watched the scene, her imagination running wild as she pictured it was her and Dean dancing together that way. Her chest felt tighter as the sadness that it would never happen washed over her. All she wanted was for Dean to want her as badly as she wanted him, but he would never see her that way. She sighed softly as she looked over to see him still looking at her, and she smiled, trying to cover the hurt she was feeling at that moment.
“Actually, could you pick me up some ice cream? I feel like just being lazy and eating junk while I watch movies all day,” she asked, knowing she needed to be alone the rest of the day. It was getting harder to hide her feelings for him, and she didn’t have the strength to fight it today.
“Sure thing, sweetheart.”
It had been a few days since she had spent the day by herself. She was glad Dean had left her alone, considering she had watched, as he would call them, ‘chick flicks’ and cried at the longing to be with him, knowing it would never happen. Luckily, today was a better day. She had cried out all her frustrations and was happy to be in the library with the boys. She smiled as she looked around her, grateful that she was where she was. A hunter’s life can be very lonely, and even though she wanted to be with Dean other than his friend, she had to accept that it could be worse. At least she had them in her life at all. The sound of a chair scraping the floor broke her thoughts as she saw Dean standing and walking out towards his room.
“What’s that about?” she asked, looking at Sam for an answer.
“No clue. Who really knows with him,” he shrugged, returning to the book he was reading.
She looked between Sam and where Dean had disappeared down the hallway. She sighed as she stood to go to her room. So much for spending time with Dean today, it seemed. He had been acting off since he left her room the day she was watching movies, now that she thought about it. She couldn’t figure out what happened that would make him distance himself from her. The more she pondered on it, she realized he had been holed up in his room a lot since that day. She felt her phone buzzing in her pocket as she reached her bedroom door. Taking it out to see that Dean had texted her asking her to come to the Dean cave. Maybe she would get to spend some time with him after all.
As she opened the door to the room, she saw Dean standing in the corner beside his record player, a shy smile on his face. Curious, she walked into the room, shutting the door behind her as she approached the man she longed to be closer to. He looked nervous, which wasn’t a look that she had seen on Dean very often. Once she was standing beside him, she looked up to see him staring down at her, his hand reaching out for her.
“Dance with me?” he whispered, terrified she would deny him.
She stood in shock momentarily, wondering if she had heard him right or if her ears were deceiving her. She looked between his face and his hand, frozen in disbelief. Before she could say anything, a look of hurt and rejection crossed his features as he started to pull his hand away. That jolted her out of her stupor, quickly grabbing his hand before he could put it in his pocket.
“I’d love to,” she smiled shyly, squeezing his hand gently.
His smile lit up the room. She hadn’t rejected him after all, and now, he hoped this would work as he had planned. With her hand in his, he picked up the needle to the player, sitting it on the record, turning to wrap her in his arms. As the music began to fill the room, she was stunned. The song played in the scene from Dirty Dancing she was watching when he came into her room that day. He began to sway with her exactly how Johnny was dancing with Baby. She couldn’t contain her giggle as he held her to him.
“Seriously? Damn it, woman, I’m trying to be romantic here,” he grumbled, looking at her with his best bitch face.
“I’m so sorry. Please continue,” she answered, not able to contain her smile.
He rolled his eyes dramatically but continued to sway her body with his. Her smile disappeared when he pulled her tighter to him, leaning down to rest his forehead on hers, his breath fanning her face. The look in his eyes made her gasp. She saw what she had wanted to see for years, desire for her. She felt light-headed with want for him. She had wanted him like this for so long, and now here she was, wrapped up in his arms, as he danced with her.
The song had ended, but he was still swaying them slowly, unable to let her go, afraid she would disappear if he released her from his arms. She wasn’t in a hurry to move, though. She knew she was where she was meant to be, in the strong arms of the green-eyed hunter that had won her heart a long time ago. Reluctantly, she pulled back, looking up to see him smiling down at her, and without hesitation, closed the small gap between them, pressing her lips to his in a barely there kiss.
She had imagined kissing Dean so many times, but even in her most vivid dreams, she couldn’t have foreseen how good his lips would feel on hers or how much the little whimpers he made as she deepened the kiss and ran her tongue across his bottom lip would affect her. The feeling of the muscles in his shoulders moving under her fingertips as he moved his hands all over her body made her ache with desire. She had never wanted anyone so badly in her life, and it was finally happening, making her head swim with the idea of what was still to come.
Dean walked them back over to the couch without his lips ever leaving her, laying her down cautiously, watching her expressions to make sure she wanted this as much as he did. When he found no signs of hesitation, he leaned over her, slotting himself between her legs, his lips going to kiss and nibble her neck. He was in no hurry tonight. He was going to find every little spot that made her cry out, make her feel like she was the only woman in the world, because that’s exactly what she was to him.
Y/N was a withering mess beneath him. The way his body was pressing her into the couch, his lips on her neck, his hands gently caressing her would be the death of her, she was sure. She needed more, needed to feel his skin against her, his mouth leaving open-mouthed kisses all over her already sweat-sheened body. She pushed his flannel down his shoulders, letting him shrug it off before grabbing the hem of his t-shirt and pulling it up his back as she tried to remove it. Dean chuckled as he sat back on his heels, pulling the shirt over his head and throwing it to the floor behind him.
“Is that what you wanted, sweetheart?”
She bit her lip as she nodded, a little embarrassed at how carried away she was becoming. No man had ever made her feel the things she was feeling at the moment. Maybe it was because Dean was just so fucking handsome or that she was so irrevocably in love with him, but whatever it was, she had never been so turned on in her life. And he hadn’t done anything but kiss her.
“Hey…” he whispered, getting her attention. He knew that look. She was in her head again. “This will only go as far as you want it to. I want to touch you, feel you, make you feel so damn good, baby, but only if that’s what you want,”
“I want you, Dean. I need you,” she whimpered, quivering in anticipation.
“Are you sure? We’ll stop right now…,”
“Don’t you dare stop,” she groaned, earning another chuckle from Dean.
“Whatever my girl wants,” he winked, leaning down to capture her mouth again.
He moved his lips down her jaw, kissing and lightly nipping her skin as he trailed down toward her ear, licking the spot right behind her lobe. The sound she made was between a moan and a whimper, and fuck him if he didn’t want to hear her make that noise over and over.
He bore his weight on his hands, stiffening his arms so he could look down at her, and the unbridled passion he saw looking back at him took his breath away. She really wanted him, and it made him want to drown himself in her, completely let go and show her just how much he wanted and loved her. He made it his mission right then to show her how special she was because, god damn if she wasn’t perfect.
“Can I?” he asked, pulling the hem of her shirt up slightly, smiling when she nodded at him somewhat shyly.
Once her shirt had been thrown behind them, he dropped himself down on his forearms, placing soft kisses on the swell of her breasts. Her hands entwined in the hair on the back of his head, pulling him to where she wanted him, and he couldn’t contain the groan that spilled past his lips. She was starting to relax and enjoy herself, and if that wasn’t the sexiest thing he’d ever seen, he didn’t know what was.
She was writhing underneath him as he took her nipple in his mouth through the fabric of her bra, her back arching with pleasure as her pussy clenched around nothing. She could feel him smirk against her skin as he kissed his way down her abdomen, stopping at the waist of her leggings. He looked up, silently questioning if he could continue. He smiled wickedly as she nodded in approval, sliding them and her panties down in one pull.
“You’re so beautiful, Y/N,” he whispered as he ran his hands down her legs, spreading them slowly so he could see all of her.
Dean sat back, taking a moment to just admire the woman lying there before him. He could never express his gratitude for being here with her like this, and it wasn’t about just the sex. He knew what she was giving him and how special it was, and he wouldn’t take it for granted. He wanted to give himself to her wholly, but he had never been so happy and terrified. This wasn’t some one-night stand that would walk away in the morning. She was his best friend, and that scared the shit out of him. What if he couldn’t make her happy? She deserved the world, and he didn’t know if he could be the one to give that to her.
“Dean, stop,”
His eyes shot to hers. This was it. She had finally realized that she was making a mistake. He hung his head, knowing she was too good for him. He should’ve known that he would never deserve someone like her. He turned to reach for her shirt to give back to her when he felt her hand on his cheek, making him look at her.
“I can see what you’re thinking, and I want this. I want you, Dean. I’ve wanted you for so long...Please...Please, Dean, make me yours,” she said, tracing his bottom lip with her thumb, “Make me your girl.”
The dam had broken. Every emotion he had kept bottled up where it concerned Y/N was now at the surface, and it was overwhelming, to say the least. She wanted him, was begging for him, and who was he to not give her what she wanted.
In a flurry of limbs, he had his jeans and boxers off in record speed. He nestled himself back between her legs, caging her in with his arms, his mouth crushing hers, trying to show her exactly how he felt without words. She slid her arms down his back to his hips, pulling him to grind against her, both of them groaning at the feeling. He moved his hand between them, running a finger through her soaked folds, teasing her entrance with the tip of his finger.
“So wet for me, sweetheart,” he groaned in her ear, “I haven’t even tasted you yet.”
“Not this time, please! I need you inside me,” she begged, not wanting to waste another second before she felt him.
“I have to get you ready for me first.”
He pushed his middle finger deep into her heat, slowly dragging it in and out before adding his index finger. The way she was moaning and clutching for him made it hard not to slam home right then, but he also wanted to make her come on his fingers. He moved his thumb to slowly circle her clit as his fingers moved inside her faster.
“D, please! I’m gonna...I’m…”
She couldn’t finish her sentence before she came hard on his fingers, soaking his palm with her juices. Her body shook with her release as she cried out, grinding her hips down on his hand. She swore she had seen stars. No one had ever made her come that hard with their fingers. He slowed down his pace as she came down, going limp, eyes shut tight and breathing hard. She could hear him sucking her taste off his fingers, making her shiver.
“Fuck…,”  she huffed, finally opening her eyes to see him smiling down at her.
“There she is…,” he chuckled, leaning down to kiss her softly, “You okay?”
She didn’t answer. Instead, she rolled him over to his back, straddling his hips. She didn’t wait as she grabbed his hard cock, lining it up with her and sinking down. The feeling of being so full, him stretching her so good, almost had her coming again. His size made her have to adjust for a moment. He was bigger than anyone she had ever had, and she could feel the difference.
She pressed her hands to his chest for leverage and began moving, riding him slowly and making him go deep. Her moans soon drowned out the song playing in the background as she felt the coil in her belly tighten again.
“That’s it, sweetheart, take what you want,” He growled, fighting hard to stave off his release.
“Dean...Oh, God…I’m so close.”
“Let go for me,” he said, reaching up to cup her chin in his hand, forcing her to look him in the eye, “Come, baby girl.”
It was almost like her body was at his command. The coil snapped as soon as the words left his mouth, sending a white-hot heat coursing through her. Her body collapsed on his chest, his arms holding her to him as he thrust up into her, working her through her high. He captured her lips as he rolls them over, placing her leg over his hip as he drives himself deep, whispering praises in her ear.
“You feel so good, Y/N. So wet and tight for me.”
“Dean, please…” she begged, unsure what she was begging for anymore.
“I’ve got you. I’ll always have you, baby girl,” he growled into her shoulder, fighting back his orgasm. He refused to let go until she came around him again, “Touch yourself for me. Come again.”
She whined at the sensitivity as she circled her throbbing bud. She didn’t think she could come again, completely blissed out from the two times she had already, but to her surprise, the coil started to wind tight again, her release right on the edge. Dean thrust in hard while he pulled her nipple in his mouth, and that’s all it took to send her flying off the edge. She came with his name passing her lips in a chant as her eyes rolled back in her head. Her pussy clenching around him threw Dean over with her, stilling deep as he filled her up, whispering her name in her ear over and over.
Neither wanted to move, both enjoying the post-sex haze, but now also scared of what would happen next. Dean was the one to break the stillness as he rolled away, pulling her back to his chest as they lay on the couch. He nuzzled his face into the back of her neck, breathing in the smell of hair as it cascaded across his face. If this ended up being a one-time thing, he wanted to enjoy this little bit of peace that he hadn’t felt in a long time. Hell, he didn’t know if he had ever felt peace like this.
“Dean,” she whispered, breaking the silence between them.
“Yeah, sweetheart?”
“What happens now?” her voice was so soft that he barely heard her.
He stayed quiet for a moment. Seriously thinking of how he wanted to answer her. He knew for a fact that he couldn’t go back to being her friend now. He was absolutely gone on her, and she needed to know it. He pulled her tighter against him as he began to speak.
“Well, I’m not sure how you feel, but Y/N, there’s no turning back for me now. I’ve wanted you for so damn long, and now that I have you, I can’t be just your friend anymore. If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m head over heels for you, sweetheart, and I’m all in. That is if you’ll have me.”
“All I’ve ever wanted was you,” she smiled, squeezing his hand that was resting on her stomach.
He kissed her head before he started to laugh softly, “I’m so damn glad I took the time to learn that dance.”
She turned in his arms quickly, looking at him in shock, “You learned that just for me?”
“Well, you said that a man that can dance is sexy,” he chuckled, kissing the tip of her nose.
“You didn’t have to learn that to be sexy, Dean.”
“Well, then, I don’t have to worry about having to dance again,” he smirked at her.
“No! I never said that. You were already sexy, but that dance made you extra sexy,” she giggled as he tickled her side.
“Whatever you say, sweetheart,” he chided, grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch and covering them.
That night, they lay cuddled on the couch, stealing kisses and never taking their hands off each other. Both of them eventually fell into a blissful sleep. The first night of many that they slept in each other’s arms.

It Felt Right
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~1k
Warnings: none!
Request by anon: #4 last one, i swear. Idk if you watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but I love the whole 'kissing so we don't break our cover' thing that Jake and Amy do, and I think that would be so good for dean x reader.
Summary: Dean has to think on his feet before you get caught on a case.
Square Filled: caught red handed (2021) for @spnfluffbingo
Author’s Note: i appreciate any and all comments! <3
Tumblr media
Sam is sick, which is why you and Dean are taking on this case solo. There is a rumor of a man who is hoarding a bunch of cursed objects that he plans to use on people. Your job is to infiltrate the party he’s at because you think that he will hit the party.
Before you were a hunter, you were a professional hacker. People came to you and paid you to hack stuff, and your clientele list was very long. You were making good money until you got caught up with some monsters pretending to be humans, and that’s when you met Sam and Dean.
You were able to use your skills to get you and Dean an invitation to this party so you don’t have to sneak in and ruin things before they have a chance to kick off. The party you’re going to is formal, so Dean had to rent a suit that makes his body look amazing. He hates suits, but he needs to do this if he wants to blend in.
You, on the other hand, are excited to dress up. You normally don’t have opportunities to do this, so when you can get dolled up, then you’re taking the chance.
“I hate this suit,” Dean complains once you two are in the door.
This party is for recon only. You don’t want to start a fight here with innocent people. If you can figure out where the cursed objects are, then one of you can leave to get the weapons while the other stays with the man in question.
“I know you do. It’s for one night. You can suck it up. Besides,” you pause and fix his tie slowly, “you look very handsome. Be more flexible. Blend in.”
“If I recall, you’re the flexible one,” he smirks.
“I did the splits once and I’ll never hear the end of it,” you chuckle.
Dean looks around the party and locks eyes with the man in question. It is only for a second or two, but Dean looks away in case the guy recognizes him. Sam and Dean have been in and out of the monster world so many times that they know who they are and what they look like. Still, the guy doesn’t seem to recognize Dean.
“There he is. Come on.”
Dean places his hand on the small of your back and guides you across the room and around the other chatting couples. No one even seems to realize that you and Dean aren’t supposed to be here. If you had worn what you usually wear, then everyone would notice for sure.
“I told you these outfits were a good idea,” you whisper.
“Yeah, yeah,” Dean chuckles.
The man walks into a restricted area, but the guards around the door aren’t paying attention to who enters or leaves. They are too busy chatting with the other guests. Some security this place has.
When the time is right, you two sneak through the door only to see it’s a very long hallway with a dozen doors on either side. The man is already halfway down the hall with his back turned to you. He must not have heard you two come in.
“Dean, where do we go? We need to hide.”
You really don’t want to find out what will happen if this guy turns around and sees a Winchester waiting for him. The man doesn’t seem to notice you two panicking, but that doesn’t mean he won’t turn around at any time. Maybe if you can see what door he goes into, you can leave and come back a few minutes later to check it out.
Before you have a chance to do anything, the guy turns and makes eye contact with Dean once more.
“What are we going to do?” you panic whisper. “Do something.”
Dean doesn’t hesitate to pull you into him. Without thinking, he presses his lips against your own, kissing you as if he’s been doing it his whole life. Your entire body goes rigid until your brain catches up to you.
This is Dean Winchester. Dean Winchester is your best friend. Your best friend is kissing you.
He slides on hand into your hair to pull you closer as if you actually can. He’s got you pressed against him as much as he physically can. Your head is swarming with images of him, you can’t smell anything but him, and he’s invading your mouth with his tongue.
“You’re not supposed to be here.”
Dean pulls away from you the second his tongue touches yours. He looks at the man you’d been following, but you can’t do anything but look at Dean.
“Sorry, man, I needed somewhere to kiss my girl in private. It’s a madhouse out there,” Dean chuckles smoothly.
You can’t look at the man in fear he’ll see something in your dazed eyes. The only place you can look at are Dean’s lips, and even that is proving to be difficult.
“Yeah, I understand. You can’t be in here, though.”
“I’m sorry. We’ll leave right now.”
Dean wraps an arm around your waist and practically drags you out of the hallway and back to the main party. Once the door is closed, you think Dean is going to address the kissing part, but he doesn’t go near it.
“I saw a door at the other end of the hallway. If we split up, then we can find a way to the back entrance. The cursed objects have to be around here somewhere.”
“Um--”
Words don't seem to want to come out of your mouth, but Dean doesn’t have time to waste on this.
“Call me if you need me.”
The minor crush you have on your best friend is magnified to a thousand. He leaves your side, but you can’t seem to move. When best friends kiss, there always seems to be awkwardness between them. Like they never should have kissed in the first place.
You can’t explain it, but kissing Dean felt more than okay. It felt like it’s what you are meant to be doing your whole life.
It felt right.
With a touch to your lips, you turn and go the opposite way as Dean went.
“Why did you kiss her, idiot. You may have ruined everything,” Dean curses at himself.
If there is one thing to be sure, it’s Dean’s feelings for you. He prays he hasn't just ruined what you two have.

Sneak Peeks
Below the read more link is some sneak peeks and previews for fics I am working on. As well as some ramblings of ideas that I've been playing with. So far, these are all reader insert where the reader is in a particular role. So you'll have to imagine yourself as a specific character style. I will try to keep the reader as descriptively neutral as possible in terms of eye, hair, and skin color, but they are all Female reader at the moment.
Underworld's Princess Preview
“So this Illiara, what is she?” Dean asked as he looked at Y/N.
He couldn’t help but notice a sad look in her eyes as she told the tale.
“She’s their last daughter,” she sighed. “No one knows what she is a Goddess of, but something happened, and she’s running from the Gods.”
“So she’s not good, but she’s not bad? Is that what you’re saying?” Dean shook his head with a huff, “I mean, I just don’t trust monsters, period. And these Gods are just that, monsters.”
“Look, you know as well as I do that nothing in this world is black and white,” she began, “there are grey areas that we just can’t explain.”
“Are we actually having a decent conversation?” Dean asked, offering her a smile.
“I guess we are,” Y/N agreed.
“You know it doesn’t hurt to give me your last name,” Dean said.
“Why? So you can look me up? Nah, I like the mystery behind myself,” she leaned back and hummed. “I should really get going.”
“You sure?” Dean’s face was concerned as she began to grab her belongings.
“Yeah,” she sighed, “I gotta keep moving. Don’t like to stay in one place for too long.”
“Then I guess we’ll see you out there,” he muttered, holding his hand to her.
The minute she took it, she could feel the electricity running through them. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest.
Dean felt it, too, his heart soaring at just the thought of holding her hand. There was something in her eyes that seemed to call him for help. Or maybe it was a trick of the light, but he could have sworn that they flashed purple for just a second.

Devil's Backbone
Cowboy!Dean x Reader Fic
The wooden steps to the Gallows creaked with every step Dean and Sam Winchester took. The elder brother, Dean, looked out into the crowd. His eyes locked with hers as the sheriff grabbed his arm to guide him towards the nose that would be his end.
“Dean and Samuel Winchester,” the judge said as he stood to the side of the Gallows, “you are charged with robbery, murder, and kidnapping,” the judge then turned to them, “do you have any last words?”
Dean gave a soft smirk before looking at his brother, “What do you think, Sammy? Do we have any last words?”
“I don’t know, Dean,” Sam said as he straightened his back, “I guess just that, you won’t be able to keep good men down.”
“That’s the damn truth,” Dean agreed, cracking his neck as he prepared himself for the lever to be pulled, giving way to the trap door below his feet.
He turned to the crowd, and locked eyes with her, the woman he never thought could steal his heart. He gave her a wink before his body shot down once the trap door was open. Both Sam and Dean’s body hung as they stilled. The woman was looking away from the scene, her heartbreaking slightly. How did they get to this point? Especially when Dick Roman pulled all the strings?

Moon Goddess's Daughter and the Alpha
“Your highness,” Artemis called, taking her attention away from the mirrored water.
“Yes, Artemis,” she frowned upon seeing the frown on her head warrior's face. “What is wrong?”
“The barrier has been breached,” Artemis informed her.
The warrior bowed her head in shame.
“He found us,” Selene whispered as she rushed to Artemis’ side. “You must take Y/N and flee. She must be hidden from him until she finds her mate, or at least,” she paused, glancing at the large pool in the middle of her office, “he finds her.”
“My Queen?” Artemis gave her a puzzled look.
“I have a plan, but you must trust me,” she placed a firm hand on Artemis’s shoulder.
Artemis followed the Queen as they made their way to Y/N.
Reaching the training grounds, Artemis couldn’t help but smile as the Princess had Zack pinned to the ground. Zack, Y/N’s trainer, had been working with the princess since the tender age of 6. Zack was one of Artemi’s most skilled pupils and head of the squad protecting the young princess.

Jason Todd!Dean Winchester X Batmans Daughter!Reader
Jason rolled his eyes but froze when he saw Y/N at the top of the stairs. She wore a lavender-colored halter top dress with a puffed-out skirt made of tule. He hadn’t realized that his mouth was hanging open until Dick came over and pushed his mouth close.
“You’ll catch flies if you keep your mouth open like that,” he chuckled.
“I– well– shut up,” Jason mumbled as he watched Y/N get help from Alfred down the stairs. “How long do we have to be here anyway,” Jason breathed. “We aren’t even his real kids… well, except Y/N.”
“We make our appearances like anyone else, Jase,” Dick said as he gave Jason a firm pat on the back. “Y/N, you look stunning,” he said, his attention shifting to the young woman, taking her hand and kissing the back of it.
“Thanks, Dick,” she said shyly before turning to Jason, “Oh, you actually can clean yourself up. I give it two minutes before you’re tearing your suit off and running off to cause mischief.”
“Please,” Jason huffed. “I can behave.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and walked over to her father’s waiting arm. Jason watched as Bruce escorted Y/N to the manor's ballroom, where a small string quartet was playing. He hung back and watched as Bruce danced with Y/N and talked to her. He wondered what the conversation was about, as by the end, Y/N gave Bruce a bright smile and hugged him tightly.

Forever
Once upon a hunt, two hearts entwine,
A hunter named Dean and an angel divine.
Castiel's grace and Dean's hunting skill,
Together they fought with a force to thrill.
Their bond grew stronger with every fight,
Feelings they couldn't ignore or slight.
One fateful day, they both confessed,
With a kiss, their love was truly blessed.
But obstacles came as ever so true,
Heaven and Hell against them, what to do?
Sacrifices made and secrets kept,
Their love was worth it, they never wept.
A giant Hellhound came, causing alarm,
Snatching away Castiel from Dean's arms.
A deal with Crowley, the King of Hell,
To find his love, Dean couldn't dwell.
Through the fight, Dean's love was the key
He rescued Castiel, set him free.
With the Hellhound gone and love intact,
Their bond forever, they'll never lack.
Through every trial, they'll stand as one,
A hunter and his angel, forever young.
Their love a force that cannot be tamed,
Together they'll hunt, forever proclaimed.

Can someone write a fanfic about how Jack passes on his gift to Gabriel or Amara and after saving Castiel from the empty. They tell him he deserves to live his happiness so after literally remaking his grace and healing his wings (Except for the scars) He cries (Like really gets on his knees and cries) because he feels whole again and then Amara/Gabriel asks what he’s gonna do now and then he thinks for a second and then the fic ends with.
“Hello, Dean”

Destiel Antics: Proud Husband Dean
“Hey, Sammy.”
Sam glanced up from his book at the strangely jovial tone of his brother. “Yeah?”
Dean and Cas were standing above him, hands intertwined.
“Look.” The blonde said as he reached out, showing off his silver wedding band on his finger. He gently pulled Cas’ hand into view as well. He had an identical band on the same hand. The angel seemed confused by his motives, but didn’t stop him. “Matching rings.” He continued with an almost giddy tone as he admired the one on his hand. “Got Enochian engraved on it too. Something about love forever or some crap.”
Cas rolled his eyes as he suppressed the urge to facepalm. “Love eternal, Dean.”
“Same thing.” Dean responded with a dismissive tone.
Sam’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Yeah, I know.” Squinting his eyes, he looked at his brother, trying to tell if he was serious. “Dean, Cas and I had those made for you. I'm the one who gave them to you. How can you not remember that?”
Dean gave his little brother an unamused glare. “I remember, but who else am I gonna brag to? You and Cas are literally the only ones here. Can’t you at least pretend to care?”
“Socialize, make friends. Go out drinking and brag to middle-aged people in bad relationships. I’m busy.” Sam said as flipped through the pages in his hands.
The older brother’s glare deepened. “You’re no fun.” Dean walked away with a small, immature pout.
The angel turned to the moose with a sigh. “Why did you have to give him that idea? Now, I have to sit through hours of stories about cheating and lawncare.” Cas rubbed his temples, just the thought gave him a headache.
“You’re the one who married him, man.” Sam responded without looking up from the page. “He's your problem now.”
“Cas, come on! Baby’s running on fumes!” Dean yelled from the landing adjacent to the front door.
Cas sighed again. “Yeah, yeah. I’m coming.”

My Only Sunshine (Chapter 3)
Tumblr media
Word Count: 5400
The smell of bacon eventually pulled (Y/N) out of her spiraling thoughts surrounding the idea of a new identity. The thought of losing herself after losing every damn thing else already.
Now she would lose the one thing she had left?
She changed and readied herself for the day before walking back out and finding Cas in the same place at the table, Dean at the stove. She realized for the first time he wore jeans with a dark grey button up and an ACDC t-shirt underneath.
Cas however wore black shirt and black uniform pants, which was similar to what Benny wore, and what Dean was wearing when they’d met.
“Hungry?” Dean’s voice cut through the silence.
“A little.” She nodded.
“Your coffee is in the microwave incase you wanted to finish it.” He said without looking over to her.
“Oh, thank you.” She said walking over and turning it on momentarily before walking over and popping a couple pieces of bread into the toaster.
“Cas, toast?” (Y/N) asked looking over to him.
“No thanks. I ate to stay awake all night.”
“Yeah. Done that a time or two.” She chuckled back. “Dean do you want any?”
“Nah.” He shook his head.
(Y/N) stood against the counter with her warmed over coffee trying to find comfort in the silence between them when the toaster sprung the toast upwards and she jumped, her grip almost faltering.
“Jumpy?” Dean raised an eyebrow as he asked.
“Surely not with this wonderful and relaxing vacation she’s on.” Cas replied for her with a grin on his lips. Dean shot him a bitchface, but (Y/N) smiled to him and mouthed a soft ‘thank you’ as she plated her toast. He winked and went back to his coffee again.
(Y/N) reached into the pantry and stood up on her tip toes to reach the item that finally caught her eye, walking over and spreading peanut butter across both pieces of toast before replacing the jar. Dean pulled the last of the bacon from the pan and dropped some on her plate, looking up between her and the toast.
“What?” She asked noting his judgmental glances.
“Not sure I’ve seen anyone eat peanut butter toast since I was in the first grade.”
“Well, then I’m really fixing to blow your mind.”
(Y/N) reached down and took the bacon strips, breaking them in pieces and laying them across the toast, lifting a piece to her mouth and savoring the first bite of salty, slightly sweet, crunchy and yet slightly chewy deliciousness. She closed her eyes moaned very briefly before looking to Dean who watched wide-eyed with horror or disgust, she wasn’t sure which.
“Don’t knock it till you try it.” She shrugged.
“I’m mean...” Cas interrupted. “That’s not nearly as bad as the peanut butter oreo thing my daughter likes to eat.”
“Women.” Dean huffed sitting down with his bacon and coffee. Black and bitter. (Y/N) wondered if the food choices were a reflection of his personality, or if he just wanted people to believe he was as bitter and bold as his taste buds were.
“So, uh. I don’t really now what I’m supposed to do. Today, or. Any day. Is there anything I’m supposed to do?”
“Follow the rules.” Dean looked at her with a straight face and a slight shrug.
“Right.” She slightly nodded.
“What are you gonna do all day every day?”
“Paperwork. I run in the mornings. Perimeter checks. There’s an entire shelf of movies. I’m sure you can find something to do.”
“Thank you for the Camera.” She mumbled.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” Dean blew her off shoving more bacon into his mouth. She watched him hesitantly and then looked over to Cas.
“Well Cas, what have you been doing all night.”
“I have been watching re-runs of Game of Thrones all night.”
“That ending piss you off as much as it did me?”
“So many unanswered questions and plot holes. I mean really?” Cas sighed exasperated.
“Yeah. I thought we were going to have to buy a new TV after Brian almost destroyed ours by throwing his drink at it when she died.” She laughed at the memory at first, but Dean watched as her face faltered and suddenly the memory had left her feeling uncomfortable.
“So much potential, and they just shit on it.” Cas shook his head.
Dean listened to them banter back and forth about some other movies and shows that they shared common interest in.  He couldn’t lie to himself that there was a hint of jealousy watching her mesh so well with his two best men. Watching them care for her. Why couldn’t he rid himself of the whisper in his head that she was hiding something?
…..
…..
…..
“When you’re ready to get some lunch let me know, we can go back in.” (Y/N) smiled over to Benny, who had been kind enough to take her outside around the house to let her get a feel for the camera she would likely be using to occupy her time during the day.
“I’m fine darlin.” He smiled back to her.
(Y/N) Picked the camera up again and pointed it towards a low hanging branch with the sunlight falling behind the yellowing leaf. She altered the settings until she felt like she had the desired outcome. She stood and spun slowly, sighing slightly as she landed back in the same spot. Eyes on the pond in front of her.
“What’s on your mind?”
“Just figuring out what I’m going to work with out here… there’s only so many ways to photography the pond or the house. Do you think Dean would let us explore into the woods a little?”
“I’ll test the waters on how far along the perimeter he’d like for us to go, better that I do that.” Benny winked.
“Thanks, Benny. Wish you were here this morning. We had a riveting conversation about the rules.”
“Yeah I heard.”
“Cas?”
“He said you took it pretty well, didn’t back down to the big dog much.”
“He wasn’t mean, the rules make sense. It was just a lot to take in. You kinda buffer that a little, but Cas did some buffering too.”
“I know it’s a lot to take in. We’ll get ya through it.”
“Where do you guys go, when you’re not here?”
“Classified.” He grinned.
“Oh.”
“How long do you think we’ll be here?”
“Don’t know. That’ll depend on Sam and the big guys in suits. I would get comfy to be honest. I can tell you I’ve been to worse safe houses though, this one is a dream compared to the last one Dean holed us up in.”
“Well then I’ll be double thankful.” (Y/N) chuckled with wide eyes as they walked to the end of the dock. She stood and noted that there were some fishing poles leaned against the shed nearby.
“Do you fish?” Benny asked her.
“It’s been a long time… guess I got some time to figure it out though.”
…..
…..
…..
“Sam, you can’t go in with something unless its SOLID.” Dean sighed into the phone.
“I know that Dean!”
“Do you? He’ll make bail before they uncuff him unless you’ve quite literally got blood on his hands. So do you?”
“Dean she identified him! She identified 4 of them, all together more than once. She has photographic evidence!”
“Of what exactly? That the guy’s a dick? That he had dinner at a certain time and place with a certain group of people? Did she happen to record their conversation?”
“I can’t believe you’re doing this right now.” Sam scoffed.
“Sammy I just don’t want this to all be for nothing. We got one shot at this. We gotta do it right.”
“Fine! Fine… so what? You gonna hole up with her for months and months until I can find someone else to rat on them? It took me how long to find her? She is the only one they haven’t killed before I could get to her first, Dean!”
“I know that!” Dean grumbled. “You think I don’t remember?!”
“I’m sorry.” Sam sighed.
“I know, me too.”
“Just. Think on it. Okay? How is she?”
“She’s okay. She loves Benny and Cas, who are you sending up tonight?”
“Jody & Bobby.”
“Good. Good I love getting my ass handed to me in poker all night.” Dean rolled his eyes.
“You should know better by now than to play him.” Sam grinned through the phone.
“Old man never lets me off that easy.”
“Yeah well, he misses Dad. You’re as close as it gets.”
“Whatever… bitch.” Dean smirked.
“Jerk.” Sam chuckled before hanging up the phone. Dean tapped the phone on the counter as he chewed on his lip. Debating on how to make sure that all of the effort wasn’t for nothing. How to finally make sure that when Sammy takes his shot, it lands center of the target and sticks.
Just then the door opened and Benny followed (Y/N) through the kitchen. Dean looked up to her and thought even though he’d read the file a hundred times maybe it was time to ask a few questions of his own.
“Hey, (Y/N). Mind if we talk for a minute?”
“Sure.” She said, obviously caught off guard, looking between him and Benny. Benny just sat on the couch and gave her a wink, knowing whatever it was would be harmless and that Dean would only be doing what was best for her in some way or another.
Dean walked to stand in front of her as she backed herself against the counter slightly. He noted her tense posture. She was nervous.
Was it him?
Or was it whatever she was hiding?
“Would you rather sit down?” He asked watching her reaction carefully.
“W-whatever you want is fine.” She stuttered.
“Okay.” He nodded. His eyes flickered outside.
“Benny show you the trail?”
“No.”
“Put your walking shoes on.”
“Considering they’re all I got, they’re on.” She nodded down to her tennis shoes.
“After you.” He pointed to the door.
Dean turned to Benny.
“15 min checks. GPS. I have one for her coming tonight.”
“Got it.” Benny nodded.
(Y/N) was curious what Dean meant he had one coming for her? One what? A GPS? Like a phone? Or something like a map?... or a tracker?
That was more likely the case.
Some tacky ankle monitor. House arrest at its finest.
“This is not an interrogation.” Dean started as he looked down at her. “I need to ask you these questions because I’m trying to help Sam, and you in a lot of ways that I can’t really explain. So answer them the best you can, even if you don’t like what I ask.”
“Okay…” She nodded hesitantly.
“Why didn’t you confront Brian when you thought he was having an affair?”
(Y/N)’s eyes fell to the dirt where her feet moved to keep up with his as they wound down trail through the trees. Only someone who knew there was a trail would have been looking for it and found it, but the path was clearing the farther in they walked.
“I knew he wouldn’t tell me the truth.”
“Why?”
“He had already lied once before.” She whispered. “I caught him watching one of the maids through a security camera he had in his house, she was getting changed and he was enjoying a little time with Rosey Palms.”
“Wow.” Dean shook his head.
“… She was one of the girls probably, right?”
“Yes. Most likely.”
“These security cameras, did you know about them before hand?”
“No. First I had ever seen them. They were in the pool house, which we used as guest quarters for when people came over, but we had a huge party coming up and he had a maid coming in to do the entire property and said she would be staying for the week to help with prep and clean up afterwards.”
“What happened then?”
“I left.”
Dean looked up to her in surprise.
“Don’t seem so shocked.” (Y/N) replied with shamefully as she crossed her arms. “I didn’t know he was a monster, Dean. I did have a little self-respect ya know.”
“I never said you didn’t.”
“Sure.” She sighed.
He didn’t have to. She could see it in the way he had judged her from the start. In the way he asked the questions. In the way he looked at her, shocked that she left him as if he imagined her being the woman who rolled over to pretend it never happened.
“How did you end up engaged to him then?”
“Few weeks later he came back. Gravelling. Crying. Told me that he would give up everything and we’d live in my apartment if that’s what it took to get me back. I didn’t believe him and called him on his bluff… I got him all the way into the real estate agent’s office to put the house on the market after sleeping at my place for a week before I let it go.”
Dean nodded in slight surprise again, he had to admit he was a little shocked that she had pulled such a bold hand on him.
“What did Brian tell you he did for work?”
(Y/N) chuckled as her eyes watered… as if she was just realizing something. She slowed her walk until they stood still, Dean turning to face her.
“Well. Now that you mention it. When we first started dating he told me he was a representative for a pharmaceutical company, but a we got more serious that became more of a management position with a medical supply company. So, I guess I am that stupid.” She nodded putting together the pieces based on his first answer.
“Did you ever attend work functions? Parties? Dinners?”
“No parties. No functions. Dinners with coworkers yes.”
“Did he ever wear a company logo, or have merchandise with a company logo on it? Say the name of the company?”
“… No.” (Y/N) sighed softly.
The more questions he asked the stupider she felt. Dean began walking again and she followed his movement.
She had brought him lunch to a small office a handful of times. She had met some of his ‘co-workers’ at dinner or drinks once or twice. Not once did she ever realize that she didn’t notice any bold company logos.
“Just corporation names.”
Well, those were fake.” Dean informed her. “No paper evidence left laying around so it would be your word only there unless you happen to have any documents laying around with the company name on it.”
“Brian said work stays at work, and home was for us.” (Y/N) said looking up to Dean with a mix of anger and sadness.
“Why did you think he was having an affair?”
“I already told yo-“
“You told me that he lied, but that doesn’t give you reasons to follow him. What did he do that made you follow him? Dean interrupted with a slight edge of accusation behind his question; it did not go unnoticed.
“He was becoming more and more withdrawn at home, okay?” She raised her hands slightly. “He kept coming home later and later. Cancelling our plans for dinners and weekends for ‘work trips’. When he would come home late, he turned down sex.”
(Y/N)’s face was red with embarrassment at the last part of her confession. She thought for weeks that she had done something wrong. That he no longer loved her… that she was no longer attractive to him. Had she gained weight? Was her skin too dull? Did her body bore him? Was she that bad in bed?
She asked herself the same questions over and over again.
Dean watched as her eyes stared forward but her mind obviously drifted elsewhere, confusion painted in the way she chewed on the inside of her cheek. He noted the tick of insecurity back in his office when they first met, every time she got lost in her own head she would do it without even realizing. Dean doubted she knew she was doing it even now.
Something in him begged him to tell her that it wasn’t her fault.
That it wasn’t her.
That there was nothing- IS nothing wrong with her.
Instead, he coughed and swallowed the words back down.
“How did you get in and out without being seen?”
“Ball cap, wig, glasses.”
“That’s it?”
“No offense but men are kinda stupid. I don’t think he ever expected me to be spying on him so he never felt like he had to look over his shoulder for it.”
“You would think a meeting in a place that public would prompt a little caution on their end.” Dean mumbled more to himself than her.
“I was pretty discreet. It’s not like I carried my big camera in the door and pulled it out at the table. I have purse with a hidden lens, kept it in my lap and pointed at the table, you can control it remotely from your phone, which I did from the table, so it just looked like I was texting.”
Dean looked up to her with a grin.
“Not bad.”
“Thank you.” She replied with a grin of her own.
“What made you back off?”
“Three dinners, two during the week and once on the weekend. No women. All business.”
“Did you follow them all the way back home?”
“No. I waited for them to leave and then left afterwards going straight home. Brian never drove his own car. He always ended up going back to the office to grab it.”
“How much of a delay between you getting home and him getting home?”
“Hour or so depending on the night?”
“That’s a lot of unaccounted for time, (Y/N).”
“You think I missed something don’t you?”
“Maybe you weren’t as far off as you think you were.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Under the office building is a basement… there’s nothing we could tie back to them, but there was a bedroom apartment in the basement. I’m just saying a lot can happen in an hour and a man doesn’t just stop wanting to have sex with his soon to be wife for no reason.”
(Y/N) swallowed around the lump in her throat.
Part of it forming due to the fact that her gut was probably right, no matter how hard she tried to prove it wrong… and mostly because she was in that building.
She was there, and those girls could have been just below her.
She could have been one of them in the blink of an eye.
“Don’t do that.” Dean suddenly said, catching her off guard.
“What?” She asked confused.
“Don’t play the what if game, it never leads you anywhere good. I promise.” Dean looked over to her with a kinder than usual grin. “Did you ever have any suspicion that Brian was using drugs?”
“None.”
“Heavy drinker?”
“No… I would have seen that one.” She said confidently. Dean made a mental note to tuck that comment away for further discussion or research.
“The co-workers you met, any of them the men you identified in the pictures?”
“No. Brian said they were reps in from out of town that were coming by for seminars or company gatherings. Just reps and some of the girl’s that worked the front desks… they’re probably dead too.”
“Probably. But that’s not on you.”
(Y/N) didn’t reply.
“I picked a name, by the way.” He cut into the silence after a few more minutes of walking.
“Let me guess- Tawny?”
“Ah, I’m impressed. It’s the red hair right?” He grinned at her Whitesnake reference. “But no. Anna.”
“Anna.” (Y/N) nodded as she said the name to herself out loud.
“Think you could live with it if you had to?”
“Don’t think I have much of a choice.” She gave a tight smile.
“Not really, no.”
“No more interrogation questions?”
“Not right now. I’ll have more later I’m sure as we piece some things together to beef up the case but for now I need to chew on a few things.”
“Sorry I couldn’t be more help.”
“You’re more help than anyone else so far.” Dean shrugged.
“Right.” She sighed. “Cas coming back tonight?”
“No. Sam’s team is coming into rotation tonight. Jody will be here most likely. If there is anything you don’t feel comfortable asking for with one of us you can ask Jody, but just know she’ll still have to clear it through me.”
“We’re all adults, Dean. I doubt tampons and bras scare any of your men as much as you do.”
He lifted an eyebrow at her as he fought to push the smile off his face.
“I appreciate the sentiment though.” She added a bit quieter, remembering that Benny had warned her that feelings were never his top priority so, she probably should show her appreciation anytime he considered them.
…..
…..
…..
Nightfall had come and (Y/N) sat comfortably on the couch while Benny relaxed on the other side, watching the end of a movie Benny swore she had to see to be considered an true American. Dean worked at the kitchen table with case files and a notebook. Grumbling every once in a while.
It was nearly 11pm when headlights coming up the drive caught his attention. He flipped his watch.
“Benny. 10 minutes early. Sound like Jody to you?”
“Gold explorer last time I checked, usually on the dot. Could be first shift adjustments, but…” He shook his head slightly.
Dean stood quickly and grabbed his gun out of the holster, Benny did the same as he reached up and turned the TV down but not off.
“(Y/N) I want you to stand up, stay behind me and walk backwards into your room.” Dean instructed walking towards her with his eyes never leaving the front door as Benny approached the window.
“What’s going on?” (Y/N)’s voice shook as she stood and moved to stand behind Dean, grabbing onto his shirt with an iron grasp as he backed them along the wall to her bedroom door.
“Shhh…” He shushed her.
“Black Sedan.” Benny called out.
“Fuck.” Dean mumbled.
“What?” (Y/N) half mumbled and half whimpered as her stomach sank.
“(Y/N)” Dean said slowly as he reached back into his pocket. “I want you to take my cell phone. Go to your room, lock the door and crawl underneath the bed. If I don’t come through the door in exactly 3 minutes you text Sam and Cas both 911 over and over and then you stay quiet as a fucking mouse until someone gets here to help you. Someone other than me comes through that door, fight and run like hell. Hide in the woods, hunter’s cabin is exactly 4 miles southwest of the house. Keep the phone on you so Sam can find you.”
“What?!” She gasped as he shoved the phone at her.
“Rules. I talk, you do. Now go!”
(Y/N) turned and into the doorway and locked it behind her as she crawled underneath the bed. She wasn’t sure when it started but at some point her face began to feel wet and hot. She hadn’t realized she was crying.
She reminded herself to be as quiet as possible as she stilled and opened the phone, noting the time. Then she opened the phone and the texts creating a thread to both Sam and Cas, 911 pre-typed into the box with her finger ready to press send.
Her entire body shook. She listened for noises. Any noises.
She prayed.
She begged silently.
She swore if she ever saw him again, she’d fucking hang Brian from a flagpole for putting her here.
Meanwhile, Benny slid to the back door and around the side of the house while Dean stayed with his eyes focused straight ahead. Waiting for someone to come along and push the door open… ready to drop the first person who dared to come into this house. Who dared come after the woman under his protection.
Who dared to hurt her.
The doorknob twisted and a tall figure stepped into the light.
“You trying to die tonight?” Benny asked from behind Jody as the light finally illuminated her face in the kitchen and he pulled the gun away from the back of her head. “Shit Jody.”
“Dammit Jody…” Dean sighed, his heart rate slowing as he tucked his gun and stepped forward
“Well, that’s one way to treat a lady. I hope you two have been a hell of a lot nicer to her.” Jody crossed her arms looking between the two of them.
“Gold explorer?” Dean threw his arms up to Benny.
“Well, it’s what she drove last time!” He rebutted.
“Yeah. Totaled in a pursuit a couple months ago. This ones a department loaner until I decide what I want to buy as a permanent replacement… so. You two gonna stand around and bitch all night or is someone gonna walk the perimeter with me?”
“I got it. Go get her, she’s scared to death.” Benny said lifting his chin towards (Y/N’s) room.
Underneath the bed in the darkness (Y/N)’s breath was jagged and shallow as she tried to keep it as quiet as possible, her entire hand shaking as it hovered over the button… one more minute.
Just then the door began to unlock. In a panic she locked the phone so as not to draw attention to the light. She listened as boots made their way across the floor.
“(Y/N)?” Dean called out softly.
But her fear had frozen her. She couldn’t hear him over the pounding of her own heart in her ears. All she could here was the blood rushing and the boots on the ground as they grew closer, her breathing stopped all together as the steps also stopped.
Feet facing the bed.
She closed her eyes and pushed her hands over her mouth.
Dean moved to lay on the ground and softly turned the flashlight towards her body, careful not to hit her face with the harsh light.
“(Y/N) it’s okay.” He said a little louder but still steady and calm, careful not to spook her further. This time she actually heard the voice as it spoke and she looked up to him.
“Are t-they gone?” She whispered.
“Just Jody, she was in a new car we didn’t recognize. It’s okay. Everything’s fine. Let’s go back out to the living room.” He tried to explain but she wasn’t moving.
“I-I don’t want to.” She shook her head as another tear fell.
“(Y/N) I want you to just look at me.” He said softly as he reached out his hand to her, leaving the flashlight on the ground pointed to the side. “Take my hand. It’s okay, I got you.”
She looked between him and his hand before her shaking arm slowly moved away from her body and towards him.
“There ya go, we’re okay.” He soothed trying to coax her out now that had had her making progress.
“I-I had it typed, but the light-t was on, and I-I didn’t want them t-to-“
“Hey, hey it’s okay… you did good.” He stopped her shaken ramble with a nod as she slid out from under the bed and they moved to stand.
“Okay.” She let out the breath she didn’t realize was still trapped in her chest. Then quickly moved to inhale again.
“You good?” Dean asked holding her by the shoulders as her eyes bored into his.
“I-I can’t breathe.” She mumbled in a panic.
“Yes, you can.” He told her calmly. “Deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Okay?”
Dean coached her through the first couple until she finally stopped trying to rake air into her lungs as if she had come up from the bottom of a lake.
“That’s it, good girl.” He nodded, his voice like velvet as it flowed through the dark room and through her ears. Those words.
Those words alone sent her body spiraling in another way she couldn’t quite contain, not that she would want to. She thought the first time he said them that it was just a fluke but hearing them now and feeling the way her body responds without her permission confirmed for her what she refused to admit to herself.
She would do anything he asked of her, as long as he called her his good girl.
“I’m so sorry.” She finally whispered as she hid her face in her hands, embarrassment now flooding her as her overwhelming adrenaline began to simmer and her body settle. “I’m so sorry, I’m fine. I promise. I haven’t had one of those in so long… I’m so sorry, Dean.”
“It’s fine. We’re all good.” He said squeezing her shoulders slightly before letting them go, her eyes finally looking up to him again. “You wanna come out and meet Jody, say bye to Benny?”
“Uhh. I’d rather spare myself any further embarrassment for the night and just clean up and go to bed.” She nodded pulling her eyes to the floor and crossing her arms over her chest.
“Okay, I’ll pop in and do a perimeter check before bed so if you hear the door open it’s just me.”
“Thanks.”
“Sure.” He said as he moved to leave.
“Oh, wait.” (Y/N) called out as she realized his phone was still in her pocket, she reached back to grab it and the held it out towards him.
“Thanks. Get some rest, tomorrow we’ll let you meet Jody.”
(Y/N) nodded in silence and waited until he left the room to hide herself in the bathroom as she cried the last bit of panic out of her body, knowing that this was as real as it gets. This was life or death, and Dean was the only thing that stood between the two of them.
She needed him.
She just didn’t realize how badly until just now when she was sure that they had come for her… they had found her, they had hurt Dean to get to her. That rattled her somewhere deep that she wasn’t expecting.
She stood and splashed her face with cool water, then brushed her teeth before changing and climbing under the sheets.
Dean had just closed the bedroom door when he stepped back out to an expectant Jody and Benny who seemed to search the space behind him for (Y/N)’s face to appear.
“She alright?” Benny asked.
“She just got a little spooked, probably my fault for erring on the side of caution. Said to tell you goodnight though.”
“Okay.” He nodded before bidding Jody a goodnight and exiting the kitchen. Jody stood at the counter and continued to chop the vegetables in front of her.
“What are you making over there?” Dean asked with a raised eyebrow.
“What kind of safe house is it without a little home cooking?”
“You ain’t gotta convince me. I’ve never turned down your cooking.” Dean smiled to her. She opened her arms for him as he approached her.
“Oh I’ve missed you two, always causing trouble. What did this poor girl get into?” Jody asked.
“Sam says that she’s the key to taking down he whole thing, seems to think she’ll go through with the trial and all.”
“You don’t seem so sure.”
“I don’t know yet.” Dean sighed. “I think she’s angry and bitter about her fiancé being such murderous drug dealer behind her back, but I don’t think she understands what she’s signed on for. Who she’s up against? Hell at first I thought maybe she was just covering her ass to get out of her own charges.”
“She had no idea? About any of it?”
“Sam says no… I was skeptical. Still am a little, but. I gotta admit some of the shit she said today, you can’t make that up.”
“Well, you know I’ve never been one to go against Sam.” Jody reminded him with a pointed glare.
“Yeah yeah yeah, you and everyone else around here.”
“You think it’s not enough, huh?” Jody said slicing a tomato.
“I think that she’s the only one we’ve gotten to in time. She’s the only who’s made it this far… we can’t take our shot unless we’re sure or it’s for nothing, and if we compromise her then we might be signing her death certificate.”

Heart Of Stone
Tumblr media
Dean x reader
Word Count- 1630
Warnings- Angst, Self-loathing Dean (yes, that's a warning 😂), A little fluff
A/N- This fills my "Unexpected Touch" square for @jacklesversebingo
Dean woke with a start, his body and pajamas drenched in sweat. Another nightmare, another sleepless night. You’d think with everything he’s seen in his life, he’d be used to them. But, he has to take deep breaths and try to still his racing heart every time, ground himself to keep from panicking. He hates it. Hates how, after all these years, his fears still plague him.
This dream was different than the usual nightmares. It wasn’t the faces of all the people he couldn’t save or the monsters that had tried to end him. No, this one was worse. It was about her, and those are the worst. He can handle the trauma that comes with his job and take the guilt and sadness that comes with it, calm himself, and push it down. But, when it comes to the nightmares about her, he can’t.
Y/N had carved her way into his heart the last few months, whether he wanted her to or not. She meant so much to him. Just the thought of her smiling face or the brightness in her eyes when she spoke to him always calmed his nerves. Hell, who’s he kidding? She soothed his soul. But she would never know that. She couldn’t. Dean wasn’t the kind of man that deserved a woman as good as her. As much as he wanted to be selfish, open himself up to her, let her in, and let her start to heal him, he wouldn’t. She didn’t deserve to be dragged down by his self-loathing, insecurities, or the inevitable misery that would come with being with him. No, as much as he wanted to be a man she deserved, a man worthy of her love, he wasn’t and never would be. So, as with everything thing else, he’ll push his feelings down and bury them deep.
As he sat on his bed, back against the headboard, his mind swirling with all the negative thoughts, a soft knock on his door made him jump. He would know that sound anywhere. It was Y’N’s knock. Yes, he had it so bad for her that he could differentiate her knuckles on his door from everyone else’s. He sighed, running his hand down his face, and tried to calm himself before she entered his room.
“Come in,” his shaky voice echoed through the silence.
“I thought I heard you scream. Are you okay?” she asked as she peeked around the door. Her hair falling around her face out of her messy bun made him smile softly. Damn, she was beautiful.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m good.”
“Why don’t I believe you?” she smirked, walking into the room and putting her hand on her hip.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to lie to her. She always saw right through him, which made her more endearing and infuriated him simultaneously. He took a deep breath and exhaled loudly, pinching the bridge of his nose. She wasn’t going anywhere, so he might as well tell her the truth. Well, half-truth. She didn’t need to know that he had a nightmare about her. How he had allowed himself to have her, just to watch her die bloody.
“I had a bad dream. Nothing to worry about. You can go back to bed.”
“Dean…” she sighed, walking over to sit beside him, taking his big hand in hers, “You do know you can talk to me. You don’t always have to go through everything alone. It’s okay to let someone be there for you every now and then.”
“I know, but I’m fine. Honestly,” he smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes, the tell-tell crinkles by his eyes not there. She knew he was faking it, and she wasn’t leaving until he talked to her. He was always there for everyone he cared about, shouldering the majority of everything, and he deserved to be cared for this time.
“Let me take care of you for once. You don’t have to be the tough guy all the time,” she whispered, reaching up to cup his cheek in her small hand, caressing it with her thumb as her other hand entwined with his.
His breath caught in his throat, heart racing, as he stared at her. The unexpectedness of her soft touch had surprised him, thrown him off guard, and he was frozen. His head and his heart were in a battle with each other. His mind telling him to back away, to leave now, and to end it before it can go any further. On the other hand, his heart screamed at him to stay, pull her to him, kiss her, and tell her how much he loved her. Casting his eyes down, he tried to decide whether to run or remain where he was when she spoke.
“Dean, look at me,” she pleaded, and when he didn’t look up, she slid her hand from his cheek to his chin, lifting his face to look him in the eyes.
“Y’N, don’t, please,” he whimpered, his willpower slowly chipping away as she stared at him, the longing in her eyes breaking his heart. Because all he wanted was her, to take her in his arms, but he couldn’t. She deserved so much more than a man like him could ever give her.
“No, Dean, you don’t. If I’m wrong, please correct me, but I’ve seen how you look at me. How your eyes follow me when I’m in the room, the longing in them when you think I’m not looking. I know this because that’s how I look at you. If you haven’t noticed, I want you, and I think you want me too,” she admitted, her voice trembling with the anxiousness of how he would respond. She doesn’t know if she can handle his rejection.
“It doesn’t matter what I want.”
“Yes, it does, Dean. It matters just as much as what everyone else wants. You deserve happiness, too.”
“I’m not a good man, sweetheart-” he began to speak, but she cut him off.
“That’s bullshit! You’re the best man I know!” she shouted, her frustration with his self-doubt spilling out.
“It’s not. You want the truth? I hate what I see when I look in the mirror; hate the man that’s staring back at me. You see these hands?” he lifted his hands, turning them around for her to see, “They’ve killed people, Y/N. There’s a dark side to me. You’re telling me that’s a man you want to be with? Because you deserve more, so much more.”
“Dean…” she whimpered, his words breaking her heart. How could he not see what everyone else sees? “First, you don’t get to decide what I want or deserve. And second, you want to know what I see when I look at you? I see a man who raised his little brother to be an incredible man. I see a man who puts everyone above him, no matter what, always putting himself last to make sure everyone else is taken care of. And these hands, all I see are hands that are cut, calloused, and scarred because he puts himself in danger daily to make sure others are safe, people who will never even know what he sacrifices for them. I don’t see that as a bad man,  Dean. I see a man who deserves more than he will ever believe he does, and if you will let me, I want to be the one to prove it to you. You’re an amazing man, Dean. Please stop selling yourself short of what you want, and especially what you deserve. And that Dean Winchester is the world, and I want to give that to you.”
“I can’t, Y/N. I can’t. What if something happened to you because you were with me? What if my nightmares come true?” he choked on his words, the thought of losing her bringing tears to his eyes.
“Is that what you dreamt? That something happened to me?” she asked softly, placing her hand back on his cheek. He nodded as he leaned into her touch, finally allowing himself to feel and enjoy how her palm held him just right as a tear finally escaped and rolled down his face.
“That’s why I can’t. I couldn’t make it if something happened to you.”
“Dean, something could happen to me going to the grocery store, a hunt, or I could slip and crack my head open taking a shower,” she chuckled.
“That’s not funny,” he grumbled, turning further into her touch.
“It’s the truth. Anything could happen to either of us at any time. So, why would you let that stop us from having what we want? Why not enjoy what time we do have together?”
“I don’t know how to be in a relationship, Y/N. The one time I tried, it blew up in my face.”
“Then how about we learn together? We’ll take it slow. Learn how to let go of our fears, the things we can’t change, and love each other the way that works for us,” she smiled, leaning in to gauge his reaction, and when he didn’t pull away, she pressed her lips to his in a gentle kiss. A kiss to let him know that she was and would always be there and would take care of him how he deserved to be.
And that night would be the beginning of something wonderful that he had never thought he could ever have. A relationship with a woman who loved him for him and accepted him and all his flaws. Over time, she had done what he thought was impossible. She had broken through and shattered the walls he had around what he thought was a heart of stone.

Tumblr media
“Be careful,” Dean says as he helps you into the house.
Your side is split open from the monster you and Dean were hunting, and he didn’t have time to fix you in the field or on the way home. Sam isn’t with you right now because he is across the country fighting his own monster with Garth.
“I know,” you wince as you hobble next to him.
Dean brings you into the war room where you take a seat at the large table. He leaves immediately to grab the first aid, and the thought makes you smile in amusement. When he comes back, your shirt is already off. You two have been dating for a couple of years now, so seeing you like this is nothing new.
“You know I don’t need that,” you grunt.
“Your side is split open. Let me fix you.”
“Dean, I’m a witch. Did you already forget that?”
You lift your right hand and hover it over your wound. You close your eyes and mutter a spell that will heal you in seconds. Dean watches with amazement as our skin folds over and stitches itself back together. Soon, your abdomen is healed and you have no permanent damage to the area.
“At least let me clean the blood off you.”
“That, you can do,” you chuckle.
Dean leaves and comes back with a damp washcloth in which he rubs your skin until it’s free of your blood.
“This will never not amaze me. After knowing you for eight years, the way you do spells is awesome.”
“Thank you,” you say in a shy voice.
He’s told you plenty of times how powerful you are, but no matter how many compliments he gives you, you’ll always turn into a blushing schoolgirl for him.
“Alright, the wound may be healed, but you need to rest. I can’t imagine how tired you are.”
“Kind of, but instead of resting, how about we watch a movie?”
“I like the sound of that. I will meet you in the man cave with snacks, drinks, and popcorn.”
Dean leaves for the kitchen, and you walk to the man cave. When Dean first discovered this area, he was so giddy like a child in a candy store. He decorated it to be the perfect place to hang out, fit with old retro video games, a pool table, a foosball table, a big couch, two recliner chairs, a flat-screen TV, a homemade bar, and a bunch of different trinkets.
It’s the perfect room to quarantine in.
You get comfortable on the couch and find your favorite movie on VUDU. You could watch this movie a thousand times over, and you’ll never get bored of it. Dean comes in ten minutes later with all the fixings.
He turns off the light as he passes by the switch and takes a seat next to you. You grab your favorite candy and a handful of popcorn before you hit play. Because this Bunker is underground, there are no windows to let in natural sunlight. The only parts that get that are the very top floor, and even then, it’s not great light. The Men of Letters really made sure that no one can see or get inside this place.
Due to that fact, the glare coming off the TV is too bright in this very dark room. Dean doesn’t seem to have a problem with his eyes adjusting, but since you’re dizzy from the blood loss, you need another source of light to contrast the TV’s brightness.
From the last time you were in here, you left candles all around the room. You complained it smelled too much like a man in here, but Dean didn’t seem to mind since he liked the smell of the candles. Without getting up from your spot, you raise your left hand, and every single candlewick in the room goes up in flames.
Dean looks around the room before settling his gaze on you.
“Sorry, the glare from the TV was too bright.”
“It’s romantic,” he grins and scooches closer to you.
You lean into his body and meet him halfway to kiss him. You could be surrounded by monsters, but you’ll always feel safe in Dean’s arms. He makes home feel like home without being near it.
After the movie is over, your eyes droop from being too tired. The energy lost from your wound is catching up to you, and Dean can see it’s time for bed.
“Alright, time for bed, sleepyhead.”
Dean moves the snacks to the other side of the couch and scoops you into his arms bridal style. Your head rests on his chest, and the steady beat of his heart is enough to lull you into a light sleep.
He walks to your shared bedroom and lays you on your side of the bed. You can’t go to bed in your hunting clothes, so he helps you into your pajamas before getting undressed, himself. Every time you’re together, right before bed, you always do the same trick to help you two go to sleep. He knows you’re tired, but he doesn’t want to break the cycle you two have.
“Sweetheart?” he whispers.
“Mmhm?”
“Can you do my favorite trick?”
Yes, you’re tired, but you’d do anything to put a smile on his face. You reach over and turn on the bedside lamp to give the room a soft yellow glow. You grab the pillow behind you and rip it open so that all the feathers go everywhere.
“Are you ready?”
He nods excitedly, and you close your eyes to concentrate. In a flash, all the feathers on the bed lift into the air, and they float there as if gravity isn’t a real thing. Dean laughs and watches them in amazement, and you watch him with admiration in your eyes. It doesn’t take much to make Dean happy, but you’ll do it all if it means he’ll keep smiling.
Your magic has been used to hurt a lot of people before, even killed them, but you’d only use it to bring Dean joy.

'Don't give me that bullshit' + sammy winchester?
As you wish, anon <3 Enjoy!
Warning: Language
Tumblr media
For Sam-
You walked into you and Sam’s shared bedroom and slammed the door behind you. “We need to talk.”
Sam looked up from his book, confused. “Okay?”
“You’ve been drinking demon blood again.”
His expression hardened. “You’re crazy, babe.” He returned to his reading.
“Don’t give me that bullshit, Sam.” You crossed to him and pulled the book from his hands. “I followed you last night, I know what you did. You’re turning into a freaking vampire, do you even-,”
“What do you expect me to do, just stand aside and let you and Dean take down every monster without help?” Sam stood up, his figure looming over you.
“You do help, idiot.” You glared up at him. “We all got along just fine before you got hooked on demon blood. Why did you go back to it, what else are you hiding?” Your heart stuttered in your chest. “Are you hurt?”
“No, no I’m not. I’m fine.”
“Don’t lie to me, Sam. I’m sick of lies!”
For you-
You pushed up on your elbows and bit back a cry of pain. The demon had thrown you into the trees one too many times and you knew that you were done. Hot, sticky blood was seeping through your clothes. Your ribs felt like they were on fire and your ankle was most certainly twisted, if not broken completely. You heard Sam calling your name in the distance, the darkness of the forest pressing down around you. There was a shout followed by a gunshot. Then silence.
“Sam,” you summoned the last of your strength as you pulled yourself up using the tree you had been thrown against. “Sam!”
The faintest of weight to your ankle caused your legs to give out. You sank against the tree with another strangled cry, heart beating wildly. How bad was it?
“Dean, over here!” Sam’s voice boomed through the forest.
You tried desperately to slow your breathing as he ran over to you. “Get him?”
“Yeah, baby. We got’em.” Sam pulled you close and you sagged against him. “How bad?”
    “M’fine.”
“Don’t give me that bullshit.” Sam had you up in his arms in a matter of seconds. “Dean,”
“Easy, Sammy,” Dean appeared beside you. “We need to get to a hospital, now.”

note: hello there! first sort of unintentional writing of angst with our baby, dean. our reader is def a bad ass hunter in the making. i strayed a bit from the smut and more focused on the monster of the weak. let me know your thoughts my spn fam <3 i hope i made you proud.
—- x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x o x —-
“Where should we start?” you ask as you promptly follow him to the car. Dean’s fast moves and stern face leave you unwelcome, but you continue to push those feelings away. You are determined. He leaves you with an abundance of silence. With a roll of his eyes, he swings his car door open with a loud creak. He lands himself firmly against the seats as he turns the keys. You are confident that if you are not in the passenger seat by the time he puts it in drive, he will be leaving you behind. With a hurry, you open the door and jump into the seat.
You have sat in uncomfortable situations before, but you are sure that nothing beats this moment. It is almost as though you do not want to look over at Dean. On the other hand, you almost don’t want to look away. You catch a glimpse of his furrowed brow. His jaw clenched as all hell. His hands grip tightly against the steering wheel. His foot glued onto the gas pedal. You decide it might be best to remain silent. He has the right to be pissed that you have come along, but you also have the right to be there. You can try to find peace and safety in his silence.
As he approaches a red light in the middle of town, Dean harshly hits the breaks. Without showing an expression on your face, your hands and feet brace the sudden stop of motion. He begins to furiously tap against the steering wheel. You turn your focus on to the people on the sidewalk. They walk so oblivious to the horrors of the world, discussing the stupidities of mundane life. Part of you is almost jealous, regretting how much you did not appreciate your life before yesterday.
You intentionally listen to one of their conversations. “I found this gorgeous dress, but they didn’t have my size!” a young girl whined. “Maybe you can get it online?” her friend suggests. The girl rolls her eyes, whimpers, and says, “Maybe I’m hangry. I’m just so hungry.” And just like that you are brought back to his cabin. You feel the car push you forward as Dean accelerates. The wounds on your wrists begin to burn. Your joints ache as you lose sensation of sitting in the car. You begin to smell the metallic odor in the air. It is such a sharp, distinct smell in your nose. In a flash, you see his hand pull from deep within her chest. The still beating heart drowning in a pool of blood upon his hand. You see her face, permanently cemented with horror. Those unfamiliar yellow eyes glowing in the dark. His teeth-
“Breathe, it’s okay,” Dean whispers, as he places a hand to your chest. You snap back into reality as your eyes meet his. The car is suddenly parked on the side of the road. His green eyes watching you with complete concern. The tightness of his jaw and brows completely dissipated. Your eyebrows push together as you find yourself confused. It feels as though you have been holding your breath for years. “In,” he says as he models breathing in. You follow his instructions with wide eyes as you take in a deep breath. “You are safe,” he reminds you. You nod furiously, completely detached with what is happening to your body. You notice that your hands are also shaking.
Holding your hands together in your lap, you attempt to stop the trembling of your fingers. You look up to him with a sad excuse for a smile. “Thank you,” you mutter as you clear your throat. “Sam said he was going to canvas the neighbors. If he was talking about the werewolf’s, we’re going to need to take a left at the next light.” Dean slowly removes his hand from your chest. His brow raises as that clenched jaw returns. “You’re going to stay in the car when I go talk to them,” he says as he puts the car in drive and begins to merge onto the road. You turn towards him with a shocked expression. “Yeah, that’s not happening,” you mutter under your breath as you cross your arms around your chest. The anger growing within you supports you with your shakes.
Dean lets out an exasperated sigh as he rolls his eyes and sucks on his tongue. He tightens his grip onto the steering wheel as he is left more frustrated with your presence. You give zero shits as you watch him turn onto the werewolf’s street. He parks abruptly and turns towards you. “Stay here, I’ll get the door,” he says sternly. You watch him walk in front of the car in disbelief. Fully suspicious of why his embittered manner is now gentlemanly. He reaches for your door and slowly opens it with one hand. You watch him as you grasp onto the handle to hoist yourself up from the seat.
Suddenly, Dean clasps one loop of a handcuff onto your wrist. The quick of his movement leaves your wrist afflicted with pain. Before he is able to wrap the other cuff onto the door’s handle, you push the door open harshly and crash it against his shin and knee. He stumbles as you quickly raise from the seat and move away from his car. With a stiff lip, you state, “Take this shit off of me now.” Dean’s lip pulls to one side. His eyes dark with anger. “You are staying here,” he demands. You look at him with disgust. The man you spent the night with was not the same one standing in front of you now. Slowly, you say, “Take this shit off of me now or I’ll scream.”
With your threat, Dean looks around to notice the people walking alongside the Main Street. “Scream all you want,” he says as he reaches towards you. You quickly pull away and ask, “Are you sure you want to do that, Dean? Because that’s a one way ticket to the police department and I sure as shit will get to your brother before you do.” His nostrils flare as he stares you down. Filled with anger, you do not turn away from his furious eyes. “Take. This. Shit. Off,” you repeat once more, with clear enunciation of each “t.” With a deep sigh and a pull from your eye line, he digs his hands into his pocket and reveals a small key. He reluctantly throws it your way as he quickly turns and opens his trunk. You instinctually catch the keys and hurriedly unlock the cuff from your wrist. He grabs a small rectangular item, slams his car down, and begins to across the street to the first house.
As you rub your wrist, you place the keys and handcuffs into your back jean pocket. By the time you catch up with him, Dean is already knocking on the front door of a neighbor’s porch. The door opens to a middle aged woman you recognize from your diner. As she opens the door, he quickly reveals a FBI badge to the resident. “Hello there, my name is Agent Bonham. I was wondering if you have seen my fellow agent, Agent Copeland,” he says with a serious inflection of his voice. The woman replies, “Oh my. I’m not too sure. I had quite a lot of visitors this morning.” You scoff behind Dean’s shoulder as you know this woman has a reputation of twisting the truth. You can imagine her pretending not to remember simply to spend more time speaking to the beautiful man.
The woman leans to the side in response to your laughter. She smiles as she recognizes you. “Y/n! What are you doing here?” Without skipping a beat, you walk up beside Dean. “I’m helping the agents get around town. Are you sure you haven’t seen Agent Copeland?” you ask with a suspicious tone to your voice. “It’s hard to miss him. He’s like this 7-foot, handsome male model.” The woman blushes and giggles. “Oh, yes! He was quite the cutie, but don’t tell my husband,” she says with a laugh and a pat to your shoulder. You laugh, “I know right?” You nonchalantly take a look at Dean to see his eyes roll to the back of his head. “Do you happen to remember where he went after he spoke with you?” you ask with a grin. The woman smiles, “Ugh, I was so sad to see him go but yes, he went to the Anderson’s down the way.” She pointed to the house that bordered the other side of the werewolf’s.
“Thank you so much, Missus Richards. We’ll be seeing you,” you say as you place your hand gently upon Dean’s elbow. You guide him down the porch stairs and onto the sidewalk. “Male model, huh?” he mutters under his breath. Without looking at him you respond, “Yeah, you used to be one too before you got this nasty stink look to your face.” He scoffs as he continues to walk beside you. With a pep to your step, you hop up the neighbor’s porch and knock onto the door.
As the door swings open, you watch as an old woman opens the door. “Yes?” she asks shakily. “Hello, Miss Anderson. I’m here with Agent Bonham from the FBI,” you say as you point back towards Dean. “Did you happen to speak with an Agent Copeland?” you ask. The woman smiles at the sound of Sam’s alias. “Yes, he was asking about James Carlton. What a sweet boy,” she says as she reminisces. You wince at his name, only wanting to refer to him as the “werewolf” and soon, the “dead werewolf.” “Did you know that man checked up on me every day since Todd got sick?” she warmly asks. You attempt to put on a fake smile, but it takes more effort than you remember.
From behind you, Dean asks, “When was the last time you saw him?” You involuntarily shiver as he steps closer towards you. Your jaw clenches as you try to stay within reality. “I saw him just the other day. He was moving these boxes out,” she says as she reaches for his arm. She grips his forearm tightly, “I was so scared that he was moving out. I don’t know what I’d do without him.” He smiles as he places his hand atop of hers. “Do you happen to know where he was moving his boxes?” he asks comfortingly. The woman smiles as she tucks her chin down. “He was just moving them into his storage. He wasn’t moving after all,” the woman says with a sigh of relief.
Dean smiles as he gives her another squeeze to her hand. “Thank you so much for your help ma’am,” he says. The woman smiles and continues to hold onto his forearm. He smiles awkwardly as you watch amusingly from afar. “Ma’am, I’m going to go now,” he says sweetly. He then slowly moves the woman’s hand from his arm. She continues to smile and blush as he does. As he forces a smile to his face, he turns from her and begins to walk towards the sidewalk. You softly snicker as you follow from behind.
Out of earshot, Dean laughs, “Damn, that lady got a grip.” You shake your head as you roll your eyes. “There’s only one storage place in town. I know the guy who runs it. Let’s go,” you say as you walk towards the car. He follows closely behind you, rushing into the driver’s seat. You feel like you are a child racing against your sibling to get shotgun. The fact is he was going to leave you behind if you were not quick enough. As you rapidly sit down, slam the door, and put on your seatbelt, you look over to him and notice his lack of urgency. “What are we doing?” you ask rudely. He turns over to you with a look of annoyance. He raises his hands to the street. “Tell me where to go,” he says with irritation.
“God, how am I supposed to believe you kill monsters regularly if you don’t even know how to communicate,” you frustratingly respond. “Take a U, a right, and then it’ll be on the left.” Dean shoots you a fake smile as he gently places his hands upon the steering wheel. He takes a u-turn back towards the busy street. “How do you kill a werewolf?” you ask as your eyes remain fixed on the road. “Basic silver bullet to the heart,” he answers with a finger pointed to his chest as he looks at you. The concerned brows reappear across his face. “I can shoot,” you say with a nod.
Dean pulls up to the sidewalk of the town’s storage locker lot. You quickly get out of the car and meet him at his trunk. He lifts the lid and immediately grabs several different items. He opens a clasped bag onto his hand revealing 10 silvered bullets. You take a deep breath as you watch him hand them to you. He then grabs a revolver from the side of the trunk. “I’m trusting that you actually can shoot,” he says as he attempts to reach your eye line. You meet his eyes as he hands the gun to you. “Don’t shoot me or Sam,” he says with his eyebrows densely pressed together. “Or yourself,” he mutters as he reaches for his own pistol. You begin to reload the chambers. Five for you, five for Dean. One werewolf. Should be easy.
In a swift movement, Dean closes the trunk and places his pistol within the waistline of his pants. You do the same and ensure your shirt covers your lower back. As he opens the office’s door, you walk through and immediately address the worker. “Hey Ben, want to tell me which one’s James?” you ask with a crack in your voice. Your mouth feels disgusting saying his name. It was almost as though you forgot. It rolled off the tongue so easily. “Why would I do that?” Ben asks with a laugh. You shoot him a smile as you calmly say, “Because if you don’t, I’ll tell Tanya that you’re fucking her husband.”
The color to Ben’s face completely disappears. His hands begin to shake as he makes quick looks towards Dean. “Which one?” you ask. He immediately answers, “1250.” You place your hand out, gesturing for more. He lands the keys perfectly within your palm. Without looking back at him, you close your hand and begin to make your way to storage unit 1250. Of course, you both find yourselves going to the desolate corner of the large storage lot. A few steps closer and you begin to hear blows land. Yelling can be heard through the metal door.
Dean looks your way. His expression is more serious, lips pursed and brows furrowed. He reaches for his gun and slowly pulls it in front of him. Reaching unit 1250, he nods towards the metal door. You nod in response as you carefully place your hand within the door’s handle. In your peripherals, you see Dean raise his gun as he prepares to shoot. In a swift move, you pull the door up and open. He immediately begins to shoot over his brother’s head. You push off to the side in case the wolf returned fire. You grab your gun and begin to aim  towards the back corner of the storage unit.
As Dean continues to shoot, you watch as the werewolf miraculously runs behind old boxes and metaled shelves. “Untie him,” you hear from overhead as you walk further into the space. Dean begins to scan the area. You quickly rush over to Sam. He was lumped over on a wooden chair, badly beaten. His nose bleeding onto his lips and chin. His cut reopened upon his cheek. His right eye beyond swollen. Pushing back a piece of his hair with concern written all over you face, you say, “Don’t worry, I got you.” You reach for the ropes upon his wrists. You begin to feel your head swarm with thoughts. You take deep breaths as you rapidly untie the nots.
Sam’s body slumps onto you, pushing you off balance. You adjust your weight and gently push his back onto the chair. A screech shoots through the air. You turn around to see the wolf jump onto Dean’s side. The motion leaves both bodies sliding across the floor. You watch as he rolls on top of the wolf. His lips are a thin line as he brutally smashes the butt of his gun onto the wolf’s face. The wolf then pushes him off and onto a metal shelf. Those yellow eyes redirect towards you. Its glow is all you can see in the darkness of the unit.
From the gold floating orbs, you hear a previously comforting voice. James. The one you grew to love and care for. Your friend. “Y/n, what are you doing here?” You instinctually draw your gun towards the eyes. “Stop,” you yell hesitantly. “Are you okay? You shouldn’t be here,” James soothes. You watch frozen as you now see shadows grow closer towards you. Abruptly, you hear Dean’s deep toned yell as he runs and tackles the wolf. The two of them fall right at your feet, struggling to get the upper hand.
James begins to struggle against Dean. You continue to hear that familiar voice. But with your vision returned, there’s no avoiding it. You look down towards James as his sharp teeth stick out from his mouth. You note his large nails, littered with Sam’s blood. James rolls atop of Dean and attempts to slash him with his nails. Dean holds him tight at his wrists. Without skipping another beat, you rush to his side and kick as hard as you could against his ribs. He curls up in response and falls onto his side against Dean.
As soon as Dean was back on his feet, the wolf retreats into the darkness again. “Come out, you pussy,” Dean yells as he stands guard in front of Sam. You stand beside him, your grip tight onto the revolver’s handle. Hearing rustling of boxes to your left, you immediately turn to the sound and raise your gun. You wince in pain as you feel a sharp burn against your right calf. As you look down, you notice three claw marks against your leg. Your jeans slowly begin to soak with crimson. Just then, you feel your leg give out as it weakens. Dean reaches for you, but you feel a sudden tug onto your waist. You are ripped from the light and brought right into the darkness.
The wolf rushes you both through several twists and turns. This storage unit is more like a maze. He abruptly drops you in another part within the unit. To the best of your knowledge, he has left you alone in complete and utter darkness. “Dean,” you yell. As you check your body for pain, you note that you are still holding the gun in your dominant hand. You raise the revolver as you attempt to place your weight onto your left leg. Dean yells, “Y/n!” You scream “Dean!” in response. Without warning, you feel a body jump onto you. You fall back, knocking your head against the cold floor. You see the golden eyes above you. A soft shushing on your forehead. “I’m just so hungry,” you hear the werewolf hisses in your face. You feel his breathing heavy against your cheeks. You hear the smacking of his l lips. You feel his body make small movements away from yours. This is it.
Dean rushes in with a flashlight and his pistol. His skin now purple against the left side of his face. You see a white hot light as a bursting sound shoots through the air. A sudden sensation of liquid falls upon your sternum. The weight resting upon you becomes heavier with each second passed. Dean rushes to your side. He pushes the weight off of you and pulls you up from the floor. You find yourself doozy. He quickly begins to check your arms, almost as though he was giving you a pat down. You stand there weak. Looking down, you see glimpse of James as Dean’s flashlight beam flashes across his body.
“We gotta go,” Dean says as he quickly places your arm around his shoulder. He guides you through the maze and back to Sam. Dean lays you against another shelf as he walks towards his brother. Sam continues to rest against the chair, unconscious. Dean shakes Sam’s shoulders. “Sammy, wake up,” he pleas. Sam slowly begins to moan as he regains consciousness. You watch as Dean’s smile grows and a chuckle escapes his lips. “She turned him,” Sam mumbles. Dean stares at him with a confusing look. “She bit him. Granny,” he mutters as his head flings back into another bout of unconsciousness.
Suddenly, Miss Anderson rushes through the storage unit and jumps onto Dean. Her teeth larger than James’. Her strength incomparable. She flings Dean over several boxes as she turns her attention to Sam. “I always liked the tall ones more,” she growls. You rapidly place your weight upon the shelf so that you could better raise your arms. With the quick shift in movement, you create noise against the boxes. The older woman turns towards you. The undeniable golden eyes fall upon you.
With a swift motion, the older woman runs towards you at full speed. You quickly pull up your gun and squeeze the trigger faster than you can aim. A spark of light and a sound of an explosion. You see the woman on the ground lying in a growing pool of blood. She groans as she attempts to pull herself up from the ground. Gut shot. With a deep breath, you walk towards her and dig the heel of your shoe onto her back. Raising your gun, you say, “For James.” You shoot her dead in the heart.
Dean crawls out from the stacked boxes. He watches as you stand over the dead wolf’s body. “Y/n,” he whispers as he softly places his fingers against your forearm. “Can you help me get Sam out of here?” You slowly face the boys. Your face deadpanned. Your body feeling weightless and painless. As Dean lifts him onto his shoulder, you duck under Sam’s arm to support his other side. “You did good,” Dean whispers. “You’re a natural.” You nod as you continue to help pull Sam’s weight back towards the office. “We’ll get back to the motel and get the first aid going,” he says as he keeps his eyes towards the front.

“Yeah, exactly. And then grab me the scissors over there?” Dean instructs as he stitches a deep cut against Sam’s chest. You note a familiar tattoo on his collarbone. Sam lays still unconscious atop of the bed. You follow Dean’s instructions and hand him the scissors. As you sit back down, you continue to carelessly hold the gauze against your calf. “Okay, you’re turn,” Dean says as he walks over towards you. You carefully lift the cloth from your leg. The wound continues to burn. The blood rests confused on your skin as it determines whether it should be dry or flowing. You wince at any movement close to it, but continue to feel hopeless in your own body.
As he begins to tighten the stitching against the needle, Dean smiles and says, “I wasn’t kidding when I said you are a natural. You sure you don’t have any hunters in your family?” He chuckles as he attempts to make eye contact with you. However, you are too busy staring at the floor. “None that I know of,” you respond softly. “Dean?” you ask as you turn towards him. Dean flinches as you moved quickly towards him as he prepared the needle. His eyes widen as they land on yours. “How am I supposed to feel?” you genuinely ask. He lightly breathes out as he places the needle back into a shot glass of alcohol. “Let’s start with how do you feel?” he asks as his eyes wash over you with worry.
“I feel powerful,” you whisper. “But I feel like I should at least feel bad.” You look down towards him with concern. Dean looks up at you with a deep breath. “That lady was an old ass werewolf who was turning people around her. She was dangerous and she’s already killed so many people in this town,” he says. “You don’t have to feel bad about her.” You nod as tears well in your eyes. “Is this how it always is, being a hunter?” you ask. He sighs as he picks up the needle. “Not always. There’s usually a bit more fun when you’re saving the damsel,” he laughs. You push his shoulder as he attempts to come closer to your with the needle again. “No damsel here,” you say. A wince forms across your face as he digs the needle into your calf.
Dean looks up to you with adoration. He is impressed by your strength. “Not at all,” he mutters as he continues to stitch your wound. You take a quick swig of the already opened beer on the table as he goes in for his second set. “After this, you are fucking all these bad memories out of me,” you passively say as you raise your bottle towards him. He laughs, a genuine laugh that makes you smile and remember that you can smile again. “Spoken like a true hunter,” he responds. “Yes, ma’am.”

You’d known Dean all your life, practically. You met him when you were six and he was eight; two lonely little kids stuck with absent (job-driven) fathers and baby brothers you felt responsible for. Over the course of the last eighteen-or-so years you ran into the Winchesters during hunts enough that you considered them family.
When Sam left for college you were there for Dean and when you lost your dad in a hunting accident Dean was there for you. He actually stayed with you, not wanting you to hunt alone since your brother was off at college too.
So, for the last six months you’d been hunting with Dean (who hadn’t spoken to Sam for over a year).
“One room, two queens,” Dean said to the woman behind the counter, placing “his” credit card on the space between them before sliding it toward her.
“We’re all booked up I’m afraid,” she said.
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, I was actually about to turn on the no vacancy sign.”
“This is the third motel we’ve been to,” you said, “every one of them has been full—you’ve gotta have something!”
“I mean, there’s technically one room left but the heater’s out and my boss said not to let anyone sleep there because of that.”
There was a silent pause; you and Dean shared a knowing look.
“We’ll pay in cash, your boss ‘ll never know,” you told the woman. She smiled and nodded as you paid her with cash.
“Room 209, my boss gets here at ten tomorrow morning so please leave before then.” She handed you the key and you nodded in thanks.
You had underestimated just how cold the room could be, but when you unlocked and opened the door you understood why the owner didn’t want anyone staying here.
“Son of a bitch,” Dean mumbled, following you into the room and feeling the cold air. “We’re gonna freeze our asses off in here!” he quickly closed the door behind him, hoping the icy air hadn’t swept any snow into the room.
“It’s either this or we sleep in the Impala,” you shrugged, “and, no offense to your car, but it’s fuckin’ uncomfortable to sleep in.”
“And there’s only one bed,” Dean sighed.
“I’m gonna take a quick shower,” you told him, ignoring his complaints.
**
“Are you shivering or crying?” Dean asked.
You rolled over so you could meet his stare; “Shivering! It’s fuckin’ cold in here!”
“You wanna…cuddle up, maybe?” he asked hesitantly.
“Excuse me?” you laughed a little.
“Look, I’m not thrilled about it either, but it’s cold in here and unless we both wanna catch fucking pneumonia we better be smart and share body heat.”
You sighed, weighing your options; “Fine. But we never, and I mean never speak of this again, you hear me?”
“Understood.” He nodded.
You rolled back over as he scooted closer to you. He wrapped his arms around your waist from behind, pulling you into his chest.
“This okay?” he asked quietly, his lips ghosting the back of your head.
“Yeah,” you mumbled back. “Thank you, Dean.”
**
You woke up to the sound of Dean snoring loudly. You were used to his snores, sure, but he’d never been this close. He was laying on his stomach and resting on your chest; his mouth open and his hair tickling your neck. Your first reaction was annoyance but then it quickly washed away as you realized you didn’t want to move a muscle, so Dean could continue sleeping.
And the more you laid there, listening to his snores, the more you realized how comfortable you were…even in such a physically uncomfortable situation.
As the time passed and the sun began to rise, you cursed the light that was slowly but surely peeking through the curtain and onto Dean’s face.
“Morning,” he mumbled to you as he lifted his head up. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his right hand before wiping his mouth. “Sorry,” he chuckled, noticing the small spot on your gray sweater dampened with his drool.
“It’s okay,” you mumbled back. “I think it’s your sweater anyway.”
“I thought it looked familiar.”
He rolled off of you and out of bed.
You watched as he padded across the dirty carpet and over to the small kitchen. He turned on the coffee maker and the loud, off putting grinding noise made his face scrunch before he quickly shut off the (definitely broken) machine.
“So much for coffee,” he grumbled. “You gonna sit there all morning or you wanna get outta here? We’ve got a long drive ahead of us.”
“I’m getting up,” you replied. You would usually be annoyed at him for rushing you to wake up, but this time the annoyance was…different. Something about his bedhead, the way his lips were pouting over the lack of caffeine, and how he looked in his brown Henley and baggy sweats just made you wanna hold him again. All you wanted was to pull him back into bed with you and hold him in your arms forever.
**
You were beyond frustrated at this point. How many stupid fucking hotels had to have vacant rooms with two beds and a functional heating system!?
It had been nearly six months since you and Dean shared a bed and you had been looking for an excuse to sleep next to him ever since.
But the last couple weeks had been different—Sammy was back. Yes, you loved Sam like a brother, but you missed getting to be alone with Dean. You missed sitting shotgun in the Impala and watching him drive.
Sam definitely noticed the way you looked at Dean, but the younger Winchester didn’t say a word. Without being too obvious about it, he tried to do little things that would let you be close to his brother. He’d sit in a certain chair or part of the couch so that you and Dean had no choice but to sit together. Or he’d make some lame excuse so that he got his own room while you and Dean had to share. “I need to do some more research and I need the light, why don’t you two just sleep in the other room?” for example.
**
“Two rooms, please,” Dean said, reaching into his coat pocket for his wallet.
“Unfortunately we’ve only got one room left,” the cashier replied.
You almost couldn’t believe your ears, fucking finally!
“Oh, that’s too bad,” you faked your best frustrated look, of course Sam saw right through that.
“Well, I am not sharing with either or you,” he said with a teasing smile.
“There’s actually a pullout couch in that room, as luck would have it,” the cashier informed the three of you.
God fucking damn it, you thought to yourself.
**
It was barely after two when you felt the bed behind you dip, and you shook yourself awake.
“The hell?” you asked, still half asleep.
“The pullout couch isn’t working,” Dean mumbled quietly. “You mind sharing with me?”
You smiled a little and scooted closer into his arms, indicating you were okay with him sleeping next to you.
“Of course I don’t mind sharing with you,” you whispered and his grip tightened.
**
“I’m gonna go get breakfast,” Sam announced. “I’m assuming you want your usual?”
Dean put his right pointer finger to his lips and furrowed his brows angrily. He gestured to you as you slept and Sam got the message.
“Usual is good,” Dean whispered before Sam left.
Dean stayed laying perfectly still as you slept on his chest, soft snores escaping your lips and to Dean they were the sweetest sound.
As you stirred awake slowly, he rubbed your back a little.
“Morning,” you mumbled, a small smile on your lips. “Where’s Sam?”
“He went to grab breakfast,” Dean told you.
You furrowed your brows as you sat up, looked across the room, and realized something; “The pullout bed looks fine? I thought you said it wasn’t working?” You turned back to Dean, who had a sheepish grin growing on his lips.
“So…maybe I’ve just been looking for an excuse to sleep next to you again. Like we did back in that motel when the heat was out.”
“Really?” You attempted to hide the smile trying to find its way onto your face.
“When we were checking in last night I noticed how your face lit up when they said there was only one room left,” Dean admitted. “And I saw that disappointed look you made when they said there was a pullout couch. So, am I wrong, or have you been wanting an excuse too?”
“I really liked sleeping next to you that night,” you said, avoiding eye contact. “And you’re right, I have been hoping for another ‘oh no just one bed, guess we’ll have to share’ situation but…”
“But what?” Dean asked when you trailed off. You looked down at him.
“Dean, you and Sam have been like my brothers for as long as I can remember. I mean, Bobby practically raised all three of us and my actual brother as siblings! Your dad and my dad knew each other basically forever and I guess…I guess I figured our lives are too entangled for anything to ever actually happen between us. We’re family.”
“Chosen family, Y/n.” Dean smiled softly. “Doesn’t mean you have to be my chosen sister, you could be my chosen…you know…”
You leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his full lips.
“That,” Dean finished his previous statement.
“Let’s just keep this between us for now, okay?” you suggested. “If Sam finds out, then your dad will find out, and he’ll immediately tell my brother, then before we know it Bobby—”
“I get the picture, sweetheart,” Dean chuckled before kissing you again. He put his hands on your cheeks as he sat up. He pulled you onto his lap, your legs now straddling his hips. His hands moved to your shoulders then trailed down to your lower back as yours went into his hair. You pulled away from him after a moment, huge smiles on both your faces.
You looked into his eyes, his truly beautiful eyes, and you bit your bottom lip ever so slightly. Your right hand rested on his left cheek, your thumb stroking his skin lovingly.
“You’re awesome, Dean Winchester,” you whispered.
“You’re fuckin’ incredible,” he replied before he kissed you again. “And gorgeous, too,” he added. “You know how fuckin’ annoying it’s been, sleeping without you every night since that one time?”
“I do know, Dean, I’ve been just as annoyed about it.”
Dean kissed you one more time before he wrapped his arms around you in a tight embrace, tucking his head into your neck. You wrapped your arms around him too, pressing your lips to his temple.
You pulled out of the hug so you could once again look at his face. Resting your forehead on his, you smiled before you kissed him again.
“Breakfast,” Sam called out as he opened the door, “is served!”
You and Dean froze for a split second before you hurried off of him.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” Sam said, “did I interrupt you two?”
“What?” you scoffed. “Of course not!”
“Interrupt? There’s nothing to interrupt?” Dean added.
“Oh…wow you two are fast,” Sam mumbled, shaking his head as he made his way to the kitchen before putting the food down. “Well, pancakes, eggs, and bacon from the continental breakfast.” He gestured to the food now on the table. “Hope you’re hungry.”
As Sam sat down to eat, you looked at Dean anxiously. Say something you begged him with your eyes.
“Sammy,” Dean started as he got out of bed, “would you mind uh…not telling dad? About me and Y/n…kissing just now? When we find him, I mean.”
“Dad’s never really been invested in your love life, but he’s not an idiot,” Sam laughed.
“So…you are gonna tell him?” Dean furrowed his brows in frustration.
“Dean, he knows you two are together, it’s not some big secret?” Sam replied, shoveling more food into his mouth. “Damn that’s good.”
“Okay, just hold on—what?” Dean asked. “What do you mean dad knows? There’s been nothing to know since like four minutes ago?”
“Wait,” Sam stopped eating and fully turned to face you and his brother, “are you trying to tell me this is the first time you two have kissed?” Sam furrowed his brows deeply as you and Dean both nodded. “So…never in high school?” You shook your heads again. “That prom we crashed?”
“Sam you were there the whole time? When would we have kissed?” you asked.
“Huh,” Sam let out a laugh. “I genuinely thought you two had been a thing since like… ‘98.”
“What!?” you and Dean exclaimed in unison.

Fan fiction has ruined me. I'm rewatching Supernatural with my husband, who's watching it for the first time. Someone said something to Dean early in season 2 about having a hole that needed to be filled. I just started howling. Literally rolling on the floor in agony over how much I was laughing. My husband just looked at me confused. He has no idea what he's in for.
