i've seen some people express concern that the spn/destiel fandom is dying out. i've had that feeling myself! but SO MANY cool projects have started (or continued), even two years after the finale, and i want to highlight some of them for you!

(sorry for so many links in replies. trying to make sure this post shows up in the tags. stay cool, tumblr.)

@amoreprofoundcon is a fanworks & creators-focused destiel convention (via zoom!) created by fans. the first con was back in march 2022, with a second scheduled for the destiel holiday weekend (nov 5-6)!!

@mixtapebookclub is a podcast focused on destiel fanfiction, featuring a different topic and author each episode!!

the destiel fan favs survey is still going strong (link to the ao3 collection in the replies) and you can find more info at @destielficarchive!! the ao3 collection currently includes 2782 works, submitted by fans over the five years the survey has run.

@destieltropecollection also does a yearly survey where writers can submit their own works that fit a list of various tropes. i love to see writers reccing their own stories!!!

the profound bond discord server (@profoundnet & link to discord in replies) has a gazillion members and is still hoppin'. the tumblr also reblogs members' stories, art, and other creations.

suptober is a fanworks celebration put together by @winchester-reload every october!! you can find this year's contributions in the #suptober22 tag. (suptober is not destiel-specific so you'll find a lot of other great spn art there too.)

tons of challenges and bangs still going strong! there are way too many for me to list here, but profoundnet has a long list on their wiki (link in replies).

@profoundbondfanfic brings you recs and reviews of a new fic every day!! just in case you're having trouble narrowing down over 100,000 fics. cheers to 100k more!!

@makingitupaswegopod is an anthology of destiel podfics! it doesn't look like this tumblr is being updated with each episode, but you can find the podfics embedded in ao3 works or on your favorite podcast platform.

but really, the BIGGEST thing still happening in the destiel fandom—the MOST IMPORTANT thing—is YOU. every artist, writer, reblogger, edit & gif maker, meta analyst, lurker, rec list curator, and friend is a vital part of this community!! <3

We are making a big change to the Angel Fish Awards, and to celebrate, we're giving away EVERYTHING in the prize pool!

In the past, you could only nominate a Pond member's story. Starting right now, we're changing that! You can now nominate any SPN or The Winchesters fan fiction story, whether the writer is a Pond member or not!

To celebrate this change, we're opening up the prize pool to EVERYONE who submits a nomination by Monday, September 4th, at midnight California time!

Because of this celebration, FOR THIS MONTH ONLY, nominations will be submitted via THIS GOOGLE FORM HERE.

How it will work:

You submit a nomination via the Google form. You will need to supply your Tumblr URL, the title and author of the fic, a link to the fic, and a sentence or two about why you are nominating this fic.

You will need to be willing to submit your full name and shipping information to Admin Michelle so she can mail you your prize.

You can submit as many nominations as you want. The only limit is four nominations per author. You can nominate an infinite number of authors, though! And an infinite number of fics!

For each nomination, you will let us know what prize you want. You can choose a different prize for each nomination, or put all your nominations toward one prize. It's up to you! CLICK HERE FOR THE PRIZE LIST!

If more than one person has put a nomination towards the same prize, then there will be a drawing to determine the winner of that prize.

If, for some reason, you manage to lose out to someone else for every single prize you choose, we will still send you something. Don't know what. Could be anything. Probably not that egg thing Ketch shipped in s15.

i've been following you for your destiel and misha content for my destiel/spn sideblog, and i've known about 9-1-1 vaguely for years but never thought i'd be into it. now i have you to thank for making me a 9-1-1 girlie! if it weren't for you blogging about upcoming bi!buck i wouldn't have experienced the euphoria of it happening in realtime on tumblr! i honestly didn't think it was actually going to happen, but then i saw the kiss immediately went and watched the previous eps of season 7 and the lead-up was so good and 7x04 was SO GOOD!! and i love all the characters (hen and chim specifically aside from buck and tommy but really everyone has their appeal) so i'm definitely tempted to watch the previous 6 seasons for them not just for buck's backstory or for the buddie of it all, but i don't have the bandwith right now so i'm just absorbing everything from the previous seasons through osmosis on tumblr and the fics i read. but yeah. i can't begin to thankyou, seriously, the happenstance was perfect! i haven't felt this invigorated about media since one piece aired (still hoping for queer characters there), and before that it was our flag means death. i'm so excited to see buck's journey play out bc honestly i've been feeling weighed down and low about how dean never got to come out and destiel wasn't given the respect it deserved in the end. anyway, it's just so refreshing and inspiring to see more shows embrace and celebrate queer characters, specifically older male characters just realising that part of themselves. i love 9-1-1 for giving us this rep and hope it inspires other shows to do the same, to be open to evolving queer storylines for characters who have been "straight" for previous seasons (another one that comes to mind is jackson from teen wold, but that's another post, ha).

anyway! sorry for rambling, i just wanted to say thankyou for your blogging about 9-1-1/buck bc it has literally brightened my life and introduced me to not only a great show with great characters but another great cast and a truly talented creative fandom.

i know this is like way down in the message but i wanted to get it out of the way: JACKSON FROM TEEN WOLF!!! god that was so shocking to me as a longtime fan of the show. teen wolf was one of my first hyperfixations, i still have my stilinski lacrosse hoodie in my closet!! the reveal that he was dating one of those twins?!!! (i forget which one 😆). i was so happy…

anyways back to the main point. i am so so glad you’ve followed me from destiel and misha to 911, it truly is a pipeline many of us seem to go down. i noticed you in my notes a lot especially with my bucktommy posts (which have been pretty frequent tbh, they’re addicting to talk about 😵‍💫) so i was so surprised to hear you started watching just now!

experiencing the episode and the kiss live was what i imagine 15x18 would have been like but a bit more. well. happy? to watch buck finding a little bit of happiness and euphoria in discovering something he never knew he was missing. it was like nothing i’ve ever felt, and i’ve been living off the high since it happened. it really has been monumental in getting you excited in a piece of media, especially involving a BI MAN IN HIS MID 30’s!!!! it’s a piece of history, and we’re so lucky to have all the actors and writers and the showrunner who support it? including both lou and oliver who’ve been nothing but amazing and EXCITED about the kiss and bi buck. how lucky are we??!!

and what i’m loving even more is the people (like you) who found my blog and decided to start watching or following buck’s journey and related to it or found joy in it. it means so much to me and i’m just so grateful for the constant happiness this show gives me and others. the characters are all so special to me, obviously buck in particular. but i love how it’s truly an ensemble show and there’s so much representation and love clearly throughout, literally from the start with hen and karen.

after destiel and the end of spn, 911 is a breath of fresh air for me and i’m so glad it is for you as well. i totally get feeling down about them lately, i have too. i kinda jumped headfirst into earnestly 911 blogging and i have no regrets. glad you’re here with me!!!!

ok here are my five faves :) in no particular order:

Plano: Some Town Halfway In Between - While John is hiding from the law, his youngest son experiences disturbing visions (Dean/John from Sam POV). A horror fic that was also a super fun experiment with first person. I like a challenge!

December, Sutter County - Dean celebrates New Year 2002 with a woman from the bar in his bed, but his mind is elsewhere (Stanford-era Dean character study). I'm proud of the writing craft and use of setting in this one. Road trip fic, or anti-road trip fic?

Baton Rouge - Sam and Dean drive into the heart of a storm (post-15x19 first time Wincest). Probably my top fave if I had to choose, in no small part thanks to a certain wonderful beta... I'm a sucker for late-canon first time, and for hot handies in the bathroom when the power's out :)

Understand the Undernetting - The summer Dean was fourteen he fell in love with the hooker next door and learned monsters come in many forms (Weechesters gen or pre-slash). Probably not the kind of fic I'd write any more, but I'm glad I did. It was fun to weave an OC into the young boys' insular lives and poke at their blurred boundaries.

Time to Look at One Another - Dean comes to see Sam in Our Town. He has some thoughts about the play's depiction of love, life, and death (Teenchesters gen, Sam POV). My first published spn fic. A little sweet, a little wistful.

Pairing | Dean Winchester x female!reader

Prompt | “To me, you are perfect,” and the episode “Baby” (11x04)

A/N | For @dean-winchester-is-a-warrior 500 milestone celebration! It’s been a while, but she’s become one of my favorite fic writers, so I hope you like this. I had the idea for the first part when I picked my prompts, but it didn’t feel complete, so I kept going.

Summary | Before and after the hunt for Whispers in SPN 11x04, two moments of the reader, Dean, and Baby being adorable.

You walked around the bunker, looking for Dean. He wasn’t in the kitchen, or the library, so you went where you probably should have started your search - the garage. You paused at the entrance, watching him from behind, admiring the view. The muscles in his back and biceps flexing as he carefully rubbed the sponge on Baby’s hood brought you back to last night, and how they felt twitching beneath your fingers last night.

“Quit objectifying me, and come help, Y/N/N.” You smirked, smacking him on the ass as you walked up.

“Nice shorts, babe.” He turned, smirking at you.

“It’s a free bunker. Sammy find anything?” You mirrored Dean’s movements, running your sponge over the other side of the windshield.

“On the Darkness, no.”

Dean sighed, “What about Metatron?”

You clicked your tongue, shaking your head. “Still in the wind. No leads.”

Dean paused, dropping his head and sighing louder. “Great, so we got an ancient evil out there somewhere, just getting stronger by the day.”

“Cas is getting better, so there’s that. Still wants to fix your…” you paused in your washing, pointing it in the direction of his still-bruised face.

“I’m fine, I’m fine. 100%,” he interrupted, moving to the back of the car. You just rolled your eyes at his bravado, following his lead.

“Right, well, he’s not, still needs more time to heal.”

“Well, guess we got nothing to do but get better,” he graduated to groaning now, continuing, “I don’t know about you, but I've got some serious cabin fever. I’ve washed every car in here twice.”

You laughed, shaking your head. “Well, Sammy may have found us a case. I mean, it’s thin, but…” Dean’s head snapped up.

“Hey, thin works. Grab Sammy and tell me on the way.” You tossed your sponge into the bucket to let him finish up. He grabbed your wrist before you got too far, pulling you back to him for a kiss. You melted, loving how affectionate the warrior Dean Winchester could be.

“All your hard work ain’t for nothing though. Girl looks good,” you offered, pecking his lips again before heading to pack bags for you and Dean.

“Don’t listen to her Baby. To me, you are perfect,” Dean told her, pride coating his voice.

“I heard that, Winchester!” You hollered, chuckling under your breath. “Don’t worry though, I know you have two perfect girls.”

“Damn straight, sweetheart!”

Later...

“Fucking were-pires,” you muttered under your breath, scotting closer to Dean in the front seat. You know he was driving much slower than he’d like, but you considered yourselves lucky that she was even getting you home, the state she was in.

“Fucking were-pires,” Dean muttered, his hand covering yours. “How’re you feelin’?”

“Probably about the same as you. Better than poor Baby, though.”

Dean sighed sadly, “She’s seen worse, we’ll get her fixed up.”

Your eyes widened. “We? You want me to help you…with the car?” You couldn’t hide the incredulous tone in your voice.

Dean glanced briefly in the rearview mirror, probably checking to see if Sam was out. Seemingly satisfied, he turned to catch your gaze. “Well, yeah, if you want. You know enough, and I, well, I kind of like working in the garage with you.” You could feel the blush creep into your cheeks, against your will. You knew Dean loved you, and you’d given him a hand here and there when he asked, but you kind of assumed he enjoyed his time alone working on the car.

When you paused, he continued, “if you’re up for it, I mean. I know you’re pretty banged up, I don’t want…”

“No, that’s not it,” you interrupted, “I just thought you like working on her on your own. I’m not that great at it or anything.”

He lifted your hand to his lips before continuing, “Y/N, to me, you are perfect.” You looked at him, a smile on his face, your hand still in his. “Besides, me and my perfect girls spending a few days in the garage?” He scoffed, “I don’t know that it gets much better than that.”

You stretched to kiss his bruised cheek softly, pausing to whisper in his ear, “I can think of a way to make it better.” You moved again, hissing a little at the pain the movement caused, but determined to stretch out a little, resting your head on Dean’s thigh. He rested his hand lightly on your head, stroking your hair.

Dean groaned, “See, Y/N/N? Perfection. Now stop distracting me so I can get my girls home and healed.” You hummed in approval, letting the exhaustion take over and falling asleep quickly to Dean’s touch.

What is the SPN Sabriel Bang?

The SPN Sabriel Bang is a fanworks event focused on celebrating and exploring the relationship between the characters Sam Winchester and the archangel Gabriel from the TV show Supernatural! Writers and artists will work together to create completely new stories and illustrations, which will be shared on our Tumblr and ao3 accounts.

Rules & Requirements

All fics and art submitted must be new - meaning no part of them has been published previously.

All works must be created by the participants of the challenge - they cannot be commissioned or created by a third party.

Authors cannot reveal any details about their work before the claims are complete, except to their beta readers. If a beta reader is also an artist, they may not volunteer to beta a fic created for this bang until after art claims are completed.

There will be three to five check-ins conducted through email and/or forms throughout the course of this bang. In order for the event admin to make sure everything is running smoothly and that everyone gets their fanworks completed in time, these are all mandatory.

Required warnings: Rape/Noncon, Major Character Death, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Implied/referenced CSA (based on the Archive Warnings from Ao3). All background ships and characters should also be tagged for. Beyond this, we don’t have any required warnings, but please do your best to tag any you can think of!

Plagiarism is a serious crime. You will be removed from the bang semi-permanently if we find you to be plagiarising someone else's work.

Make sure to keep copies of your work! This isn't really a rule, but it's a good policy to keep backups of all your works in case of malfunctions.

The rules might be subject to change. Any changes to the rules will be announced via Email, Tumblr, and in our Discord server.

Minibang/Bigbang

This challenge has two tracks that specify the minimum requirements for authors and artists.

Mini Bang:

Authors: 2k minimum word count.

Artists: 1 complete artwork minimum.

Big Bang:

Authors: 12k minimum word count.

Artists: 2 complete artworks minimum.

You will not be required to choose your track when signing up!

Fics will be categorised at the second check-in, just before art claims. More details about the check-ins can be found at our schedule.

Artists can claim fics from either category, then provide the amount of art accordingly.

Authors and Fics

See the FAQ section for more information. If your question isn’t answered, feel free to drop us an ask!

Authors can only submit one work per author; if you plan to co-submit, co-authored works must be the only work either of you submit.

If you are writing with a partner, each one of you will have to submit the sign-up form separately and provide your co-author’s pseudonym; if you at any point after signing up wish to co-author with someone, email the mods at [email protected] before the second writer check-in. Co-authoring requests will not be accepted after art claims!

Any interpretation of Sam and Gabriel is fine - platonic, queerplatonic, romantic, or something in between - but your fic must focus on them the vast majority of the time. Background characters and relationships are fine in moderation, but be warned that your fic may not be accepted if it's not focused on Sam and Gabriel.

Beta readers are not required, but we strongly recommend them. If you don't already have one (or if your regular beta is unavailable), we have beta readers available through the bang!

Our beta masterlist will be made available to you when you sign up, and there’s a channel in the discord server where you can request a beta read if you’re not comfortable reaching out privately or if you only need help with a small part of your fic. Please be aware that full disclosure of ships and topics will be required, and as such artists cannot beta-read for the bang until after art claims are finished.

All ratings are allowed, as well as any background characters and pairings! However, we do ask that you use tags and warnings responsibly. Rape/Noncon, Major Character Death, Graphic Depictions of Violence, and Implied/referenced CSA are our required tags (based on the Archive Warnings from Ao3). All background ships and characters should also be tagged for.

Beyond this, we don’t have any required warnings, but please do your best to tag any you can think of!

Artists and Art

About halfway through the course of this event, artists may claim one or more fics to draw for during the second and/or first rounds of art claims.

Artists can claim more than one fic, but will be required to adhere to the deadlines with all of their fic claims. Please don't overextend yourself here! Only take on what you can handle.

Your artworks (one piece min. for the minibang, two pieces for the bigbang) should all be inspired by your claimed fic - e.g. illustrating chosen scenes.

They should also be centered on Sam and Gabriel! If you want to do a group shot, that’s fine, but this is a Sabriel bang; at the very least they should be prominent in your artwork.

Digital art, traditional art, and photo edits are all allowed for the minibang and bigbang requirements, so long as there's some measure of work put into it. If it’s work you would gladly put your name on, you should be okay.

Additional goodies such as icons, podfics, mixtapes etc. are welcome, but won't count towards the minimum art requirements.

Beta Reading

Beta sign-ups are a semi-official part of the challenge, aimed to help the authors find betas for their fics. Authors are not obliged to choose a beta from the list, which means it’s probable that not every person on the list will be asked to beta read. Authors are responsible for contacting betas and providing them with drafts.

The list of betas and appropriate information will be made directly available to all authors.

Every beta reader has the right to refuse to work on a certain piece for any reason.

Betas can opt out of the list at any time. To do so, just send us an ask, email us at [email protected], or contact one of the event admin directly!

If you are co-registered as an artist, you won’t be able to volunteer to beta-read for the bang until after art claims are conducted.

We will not engage in resolving any issues between authors and betas.

What Can't You Submit?

We will welcome most content and topics. However, we do have a few restrictions. You may not submit:

- Interactive stories, such as “you based” fics (this includes “x reader” type of fics).

- Sexual or romantic content involving a minor under 16.

- Romantic and/or sexual relationships between a minor and an adult and depictions of child sexual abuse.

We allow referenced/implied child sexual abuse with the required warning. CSA is an incredibly heavy topic, so proceed with caution writing it; please do not describe this topic in a way similar to sexual scenes between adults. This is a required warning. You may be removed from the bang if you do not warn for Implied/referenced CSA.

- We do allow abuse in order to avoid unnecessary censorship, but this is also a heavy and triggering topic, so if you decide to write something depicting abuse, please be cautious about how you portray it. This is a required warning. You may be removed from the bang if you do not warn for this.

Underaged Participants

Participants under 18 may not write M or E rated fics, make art for M or E rated fics, OR beta read M or E rated fics. If a minor is found circumventing this rule, they will be semi-permanently removed from the bang.

Authors: If you should turn 18 before writer sign-ups close, you can let a mod know and we’ll adjust your sign-up status. You can then submit a rated E or M fic if you so choose.

Artists: If you should turn 18 before artist registration closes, you can let a mod know and you would be allowed to claim a rated E or M fic during claims.

Beta Readers: We can update your information on the beta list at any point during the process to note your age and availability, but until you turn 18 you can only be listed as available to beta-read a G or T-rated fic.

Announcements and Emails

We’ll keep participants updated via email throughout the bang, so you’ll need to keep up with those! They’ll have all the important information re: deadlines, any changes in the rules, and how to navigate the resources we're providing. If you sign up, we recommend adding [email protected] to your contacts so your emails don't go missing.

Having a Tumblr account is not essential but will be helpful; we’ll put all of our public announcements on our Tumblr page.

We also have a Discord server for all participants! Joining is not obligatory, but definitely encouraged. You might find it helpful as a source of motivation or information, and that's where you'll get answers to your questions the quickest. Your confirmation email will include an invite to the server after you sign up.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive a confirmation email within a few days. If you don't receive a confirmation within a week, email us at [email protected].

By signing up for the bang, you agree to receive challenge-related emails from the event admins (such as confirmations, reminders about upcoming dates, and other vital information) and to follow the rules at all times.

In the past couple of years misha has only acknowledged destiel/fandom events to promote his other stuff (like when he posted celebrating the 100,000 fics on ao3 to promo the podcast, etc) he didn’t really have any reason to post today, and it might be starting to feel like he’s unnecessarily centering himself now that there’s a canonically proud queer masc main character played by a queer actor on a legacy show where the lead writer (Robbie) is also a queer man. time to pass the torch, so to speak.

I am not really getting the point of this ask. There have been queer tv characters before castiel and there will be queer tv characters after castiel. And I don't agree that he has mentioned Destiel/SPN in the last years to "only" promo other stuff (just from the top of my head I remember he shared Gio's Cas art during pride. Don't think that was promoting anything). And even if he did, how does that negate everything he has done before? I mean one of those actors has started an entire new show riding the success of supernatural and we are all still hang up about Misha plugging his book? C'mon.

I have no idea what show you are talking about but that's nice. However for me personally it makes no difference what sexuality the actor is (different with writers imo) when portraying a queer character as long as queer actors get as much employment as everybody else (often not the case I know). But I think recent events have shown what an bad idea demanding to know actors' sexuality actually is.

As for passing on the torch, I don't think Misha can make that decision. I think it's the audience's call. Supernatural has been over for 2 years, people have moved on and more will. So yes, it is inevitable that people will find new favourite shows and fall in love with new characters meaning Castiel (and Misha) won't be as relevant. But this won't change the weight Castiel's confession carried. A beloved main character came out on Supernatural, a show that premiered in 2005 during Bush administration. Birthday Celebration / Share the Love Fest Part 3

I'm going to go out on a limb here (for this and Part 4 coming) and tag a few people who have helped fan the flames of a new fandom of mine - Henry Cavill. //insert flame emoji// //insert panting emoji//

It is so fitting that I came to this corner of Tumblr based on a fic rec from a favorite SPN writer (see Part 2) and the first account I immersed myself in was @sillyrabbit81. Her Captain Syverson, especially Even If You Don't Mean It and And So Much More, is just the stuff of dreams. She has such an incredible way of creating this completely real man with quirks and flaws along with the hottest sex you ever wanted to read about. Seriously.

@plumfondler - I don't know if I've really explored her masterlist the way I should, but her Henry Cavill backrub drabble broke me. I need a reallllllly specific and careful kind of RPF and this one just did it. Amazing.

@just-chirpin - JC has a really detailed, self-discovery-while-falling-in-love-with-Sy story, ETS, on her masterlist that just makes you want to move to Georgia and casually run into him. Here's hoping she's been able to find time to get that next chapter on the books. ;)

@rmtndew - I've never seen MI6 and I probably never will, but I stumbled across this amazing series, Pretty in Pink, and I fell in love with August Walker. I love the way she wrote him and I love the little twisty, spy story. Just wonderful.

@mayloma - also a writer who captured my attention with some Henry RPF, but she's also got a Walter Marshall fic, The Light Side of Night, and I love this grumpy bear so much!

I've yet to dig into Geralt or Sherlock or some of his other characters, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

I'm certainly going to investigate these fic recs, my thing for Henners only seems to be growing. My brother bought me a Geralt pop for my birthday 😁

Sorry for the delay in replying, The Eclipse finale took over my brain today lol.

35. What aspects of your writing are completely unlike your real life? - Umm, all of it? Lol, no, that’s not true, I mean I’m definitely not magical or anything like that, so there is that aspect. But I think the most different is that I make the characters happy usually. I know that sounds like super emo and shit lmao, but even when I write characters going through terrible stuff, I always have a happy ending/outcome for them. I’m a very unhappy person irl, tbh I’m kind of a misery to be around, I’d say ask anyone who knows me but 🤷 It’s just me most of the time lol, so yeah, I think joy, family, friendship, love, all that happy stuff I like to write is probably the most different from my real life.

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it? - Got this question once already, so I’ll promote another underrated fic of mine. A Valentines themed SPN one from earlier this year, I don’t celebrate 99% of holidays so maybe that’s why it didn’t get any traction, cause I don’t write holidays very well lol. Or it’s just not that great? I dunno, you be the judge.

40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person? - Oh I’m a reread person, all the time. I have over 300 bookmarked fics and usually once every couple months I’ll go back and reread all of them. They’re bookmarked for a reason, I wanna reread them!

48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it? - The last fic I read was last night/this morning (yay insomnia!), I subbed to the series so I got the email about it being posted right away and jumped on it asap. It was Don’t Disappear by KeeperoftheCottage, also known as @raeality over here on Tumblr. And yes, I would 100% recommend it. But start at the beginning of the series, you’ll be missing out on some of the best AkkAyan smut around if you skip the previous 10 fics in the series.

Fishing For Treasures at the Ocean - This weekend is FFT weekend at the Ocean, and January's theme is Underappreciated Fics! Check out the @fanficocean to see some great fics from other fandoms. The Pond will be celebrating on the 20th and 21st of this month. This means you have until midnight (Eastern US/Canada time) on the 19th to submit links to all of the SPN fics that you think deserve more love! You can either submit a link via the blog with a note that it is for FFT, or you can drop a link in the #fishing-for-treasures channel in our Discord server!

Secret Santa Fic Exchange - Everyone should have posted their fics by now, so if you haven't, or haven't received your fic from your Secret Santa, contact @mariekoukie6661 and let her know. Some folks have asked for extensions, and she's keeping track of that. So far, she has links for about half of the fics, so if you posted, but haven't gotten a like or a comment or anything from Marie, let her know!

SPN Rewatch: Fanfic Edition - Next weekend we will have our next Rewatch chat! We will be discussing 1.13 Route 666 and 1.14 Nightmare. inspired by the entire fic? but most prominently the last chapter. a beat up copy of slaughterhouse-five and an empty pack of cigarettes are in the footwell. the rings are a callback to when cas was compared to rings in a tree. the impala window is speckled with stars and a big warm yellow hand reaches down into the scene. in the top there's two figures in a light pink bed. in the middle they are facing with hands entwined into a heart, on the right one is facing away and the other's hand is on their back (it's dean and cas). the top left corner, in red ink, says "the cheapest room in the house"

Holding your body above the ground

Soles of feet to sodden earth

Wriggling between blades of grass and the buzzing of an Asclepius blossom

This humid afternoon on the edge of the meadow never ends

The sweet drip of honey

Look down and yellow stars mark a path

Without a doubt mycelial fingers are preparing to tangle with your footprints

The inner rings of the hawthorns, set neatly by the careful hand of the elphen queen and kissed by fairies

Are singing to the halos in the beeches and the bands of the great white pines

Where the ravens croak in syncopation

This in and out of the breath

Of the beat between steps

Does it make us?

Or are we just a part of each moon

Leaving perfectly misshapen, crescent paintings on the table?

I wonder who's hand mine will fit into

Like bird bones in the sacred leather of a great paw

I know I'm not that brittle

But I do dream of a warmth enveloping

Huffed, puffed gently

Like the breathing of the cat at my hip

Sleeping

Socked feet, with the blankets pulled up snug

A square hand between my shoulders or

Over the coarse, cotton swept hairs on my stomach

And the humming of a fan muddled

What will it take

For me to be the child, and not just the caretaker

And how long?

Someone's hand ought to be that big

And shouldn't I reach out?

Shouldn't I want to sink deeper into this bed without fear of repercussions from someone who doesn't exist?

Yes. And I'd bet it on the stars

Love! And faith that there will be love! And the stars are like a warm hand curling against my spine and the trees are a solid standing point to see down into the valley of unknown but still it glows with sunlight and that *is* know so it doesn't matter

And the dark outside the window is frightening but there's trash and cd cases and joint butts in the footwell and a blanket in the trunk next to a brick and an ice scraper and I'm safe from the world in there!

Someone will hug me again and our hearts will line up and I'll be kissed

I wasnt raised to sleep all cuddly, too many issues, but I swear one day I'll get what I deserve

And that's more than some people might ever wish for me

#SPN Renaissance Celebration

Finally Finished! - It's been a year Supernatural Fandom! A year that started with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and a year where we took the narrative into our own hands to amazing results.

In my case, I spent the first half of the year lurking - scrolling tumblr blogs on my phone browser for all your awesome metas and jokes. Then at the very end of July I decided to overcome my aversion to any form of social media and get myself on tumblr. And AO3. It's been a stellar decision so far (even if it’s taken over my life lol).

I wanted to look back on everything that happened and reblog some (mostly good) memories, so I scheduled two posts each day from Nov 5th to Nov 18th. It’s not a timeline - for one, 28 posts wouldn’t cover even half of it - just a sampling of The Experience. Everything is under my #SPN Renaissance tag, and each day’s links are collected below.
