Alhaitham
Alhaitham was not one to get worked up over nothing or to be excessively clingy.
Quite the opposite, in fact. He was the type to avoid any kind of unnecessary drama, and knew when to give other people space, as well as taking his own, prioritizing his peace over everything else.
But there were times when he couldn't just watch, and that was one of them.
You had been stuck at the House of Daena for hours on end as of lately, studying your days away, writing paper after paper, resulting in extreme exhaustion, even forgetting to eat and neglecting yourself at times.
And that's exactly what you were doing at the moment, your back hurting from being hunched for so long on the chairs of the House of Daena.
As you stood up to go fetch another book, one of the Akademiya staff members suddenly came up to you, carrying a scroll with them.
«From the Acting Grand Sage, Miss.»
«Oh. Thank you, I'll check it out right away.» they seemed genuinely grateful for the thanks, and you wondered how presumptuous could some people be to not even thank staff members for their work.
You lightly shook your head, directing your attention to the scroll in your hands, wondering what could your boyfriend possibly want, and how important that had to be for it to be written in an Akademiya scroll and have it delivered by a staff member.
You opened it, and to your surprise there were just a few sentences, which told you to go to his office as soon as possible.
You wondered why, but packed your things and took the elevator.
As it reached its final destination, the elevator announced your arrival with a low ding sound, which caught the attention of Alhaitham's secretary.
«Good morning, Darya.» you greeted her, and were met by her usual annoyed look. She wasn't exactly fond of Alhaitham, nor you, for all that mattered.
«Good morning, [name]. Why are you here?» she asked, and you took a shallow breath. You didn't really like her, but brushed her rude tone off.
«Alhaitham wants to see me.» you simply stated, and she looked at you, not even hiding her disapproval, but ultimately nodded, standing up and accompanying you to his door.
She knocked, and you heard your boyfriend inviting her to come inside.
«Acting Grand Sage, [name] is here. She says you wanted to see her.» Alhaitham nodded, not even looking at her, and gestured for her to go away.
You entered his office, and closed the door behind you.
«Did you want to see me, Acting Grand Sage?»
He looked at you upon hearing that title, causing him to huff loudly.
«What? You're the Acting Grand Sage. That's your role, and we agreed to maintain our roles here, didn't we?» you justified yourself, only for him to raise one of his eyebrows.
«Is the charade over, Miss [name]?» he said, making you want to laugh at him for always being so serious.
You sighed, sitting down on one of the chairs in front of his desk, letting all your stuff fall on the floor, not even caring if the papers scattered around, such it was your exhaustion.
He snorted. «Don't be ridiculous, come over here.» he said, beckoning for you to go sit on his lap.
You gladly took the invitation, and rested your head against his toned chest. He softly stroke your back, using his other free hand to keep you from slipping.
You sighed again, letting all your sore muscles relax in his embrace.
«You're exhausting yourself too much, [name]. You shouldn't spend all of your time studying, or you'll end up sick. I can't bear the thought of you falling sick because of exhaustion and the Akademiya..»
You looked at him, surprised at this sudden show of feelings. Your boyfriend was what people would define "stoic", and to his credit, he was, even if with you he would show his sensitive side more.
Even so, this was a first.
You wanted to cry, because he was right, but you felt like the entire Spantamad Darshan weight rested upon your shoulders, like a boulder that made it impossible for you to breathe.
«[name].» he called, trying to shake you from your negative spiraling, but you barely heard him.
«[Name]!» he called louder this time, getting a reaction out of you.
«What?» you started crying, hiding your face in his chest, and letting him hug you as tight as he could, refusing to let go.
«I'm giving you a two weeks leave, [name].» he declared, getting a shocked gasp from you.
«But..but you can't..!»
«Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm still the Acting Grand Sage, am I not?»
«Yes, but the Spantamad Darshan..» he shut you up with a kiss.
«Fuck them.»
──────────────────────────────
Cyno
You were running fast. So fast that your lungs were about to explode. But you couldn't stop.
The suspect was about to escape your capture, and, as a member of the Matra, you couldn't let any more people involved with the Canned Knowledge escape capture and conviction.
The suspect was one of the Eremites, which, with his tribe, he had managed to smuggle an enormous quantity of knowledge capsules and sell them to Akademiya scholars.
Since the abandonment of the Akasha system, people were becoming more and more desperate for quick learning: they didn't even remember what it felt like to dip your toes into a subject, to try and fail, and to really exhaust your brain with studying; no, they wanted a quick way to know what they wanted, without putting any effort in.
Hence why you were in such a situation to begin with.
In the last few months more and more cases of canned knowledge leading people to insanity had emerged, forcing the Matra to work even harder to track down whoever was smuggling them into Sumeru City.
The investigation had lasted for at least a month and a half, in which you had been camping in the desert, silently following the tribe, learning their routes and their accomplices.
General Mahamatra Cyno, also your boyfriend, wasn't very fond of you following them around. Not that he didn't trust your abilities, but he knew the extreme lengths you could go to in order to apprehend a suspect. And he knew because he was the one who had taught you them in the first place.
But you were stubborn, so you did it nonetheless.
Today was finally the day you would apprehend them.
«[name].» Cyno called you, distracting you from your schemes.
«Yes, Cyno?» you answered, looking at him. His red eyes looked deep inside yours.
«You will wait for me before starting any operations. You're far too exhausted from following them around all these months.» his demand wasn't up for debate.
«I'm fine Cyno. I swear.» you pledged, trying not to look away from him: you had this bad habit of looking away when telling a lie.
«You're not. I can tell. I know you, angel.»
You sighed. «I am alright, Cyno. Really. If I had any problems, I would tell you. But me and my hydro vision are gonna bring those outlaws to you.»
He sighed in turn, shaking his head.
«Notify me when you're about to apprehend them. I am coming with you, end of discussion. You're dismissed.»
You got out of his office, pissed at him. You would apprehend them without him.
And now, while running for your life, you wished you had listened to Cyno. Your legs were about to give out, and just as you had cornered the head of the tribe, they did.
«Oh, would you look at that. The brave and strong Matra is too tired to get me, huh?» the man towered over you, and you gave him a grim look.
He lifted his scimitar, the sharp edge gleaming with the the harsh desert sun.
«Farewell, Matra scum.» and he struck down.
You closed your eyes, preparing for the end, one last thought going to Cyno, his words ringing in your ears.
«See? I told you.»
Except they weren't in your head, but in your ears.
You could feel it before seeing him: the electricity in the air that made all of your body hair stand up.
The scimitar clashed with Cyno's staff, producing a metallic sound that resonated in the silence of the desert.
«What did I tell you? You shouldn't have gone alone.» he reprimanded you, and you couldn't do anything but agree.
«I'm sorry, General Mahamatra. It won't happen again.» you meekly replied, getting back to your feet.
«Hydro, [name].» he commanded, going full General mode.
You acted fast, using your Hydro vision to create mud, incapacitating the eremite, and rendering him wet.
«I would have brought you to justice..» Cyno started, looking the eremite dead in the eyes. «But no one attempts to kill my queen and lives to tell the tale. Farewell.»
And with a swing of his electrified staff, it was just you and Cyno left.
He rushed to your side, having you lean on him for support.
«What did I tell you, angel? You almost got killed. What would have happened if I hadn't come on time?»
You hugged him tight, and he hugged you back even tighter, as if you were about to disappear at any moment.
«I'm sorry, Cyno. I really am. I exhausted myself because I wanted to prove you and the Matra that I didn't advance in my career just because we're engaged. I should have known better.»
He looked in your eyes, as tears began to slip from yours.
«I don't give a shit what people think of you, and neither should you. They can go fuck themselves, and if any of them has any doubts, I'll gladly arrange a confrontation between you and them, if you wish to prove your worth, or I'll fight them myself, if you so desire. I just want you to be safe and happy, [name].»
You cried your heart out, as he held you close, letting you calm down.
«We're going home now. I am going to take care of you, and you better believe I won't let you get to work until you're no longer exhausted.» he kissed your forehead, and took your hand.

this is like. a fun question. the gala boots reminded me of my school's own booths during festivals and i was wondering which activity do you think you'll realisitically be good at? or not good at? if the booth activities were done irl, i think i'll probably flunk Haravatat's booth LOL. i'm so bad at riddles and puzzles. -- @milkstore
Aaaaaa I wish we had school festivals here. That sounds like really fun. ;A;
But realistically looking at this? I think I would be the best at Kshahrehwar (Project Connectivity) and Vahumana's (Antiquity Hunt) booths. Definitely, Ksahrehwar would be the easiest. With things like that, there are so many loopholes you can exploit to just make getting from beginning to end work. Although I kinda learned how to fight dirty from my dad HAHA. As for Vahumana's.... well, honestly academically speaking I absolutely hate history and politics LOL. But I do enjoy scavenger hunts like that.
As for the worst? I'm absolutely terrible at Rtawahist's (Gathering of the Stars) booth. I kid you not I'm just trying to randomly move the stars around to get things to hopefully match up. LOL Irl, I would be terrible at Amurta's (Mimetic Replication) booth because me and biology just don't get along. I am simply Not Observant enough to understand plant and animal behaviors. LOL
In the middle would be Spantamad (Concocted Reaction) and Haravatat's (In Truth's Steps) booths. I'm not much of a fighter, but if I were, I'd probably find the potions intriguing. Not to use, but to see how it works in other people. I'd like to know how they're made. But I don't think I'd be too bad at the fighting part either. And as for Haravatat... Well, I'm honestly terrible at riddles as well, but I do enjoy riddles and puzzles. Escape rooms are my favorite. So I'd hope I'd know what questions to ask haha. I think I'd just be average overall.
But what about you? Which would be your strengths and weaknesses? *eyeballs emoji*

I like to think that Yanfei has gotten several invitations to join the Akediamiya throught the years but has declined every time; not because she's wasn't interested in becoming a scholar, but because of how miserable most of them seem.

Just Like That
Guiding their starry-eyed junior (can be viewed as platonic or romantic)
Ft. Alhaitham, Cyno, Dottore, Kaveh, Tighnari
Tumblr media
Alhaitham:
Haravatat was...well it had the lowest enrollment rate for a reason
And having enrolled yourself, you were starting to see why
But you wouldn't let that deter you!!
You'd heard of the exemplary senior in your darshan by the name of Alhaitham and decided to seek him out for assistance
Which in itself, you felt, should have earned you an award of sorts given how hard he was to find
He excelled at making himself scarce, perhaps even more than he did at his work
Worse still was convincing him to tutor you
As passionate as you were to learn, he wasn't the type to be moved by devotion, and teaching you seemed like more trouble than he cared to deal with
Worst of all was the roundabout, cryptic ways he'd phrase his rejection: never a direct no, it always had to be in another language in some sort of riddle
Until you realised his stupidly annoying phrasings were his way of teaching you subtly
You should be more annoyed with him (enough to never speak to him again) but for whatever reason, him opting to help you, however ridiculously, was touching enough for you to hang around him even more
Cyno:
You'd looked forward to the day you enrolled in Spantamad
After all you'd heard of incredible alchemists like Albedo from Mondstadt and Rhinedottir from an ancient civilisation
But of course, Rhinedottir's work wasn't something you could freely research
And the ley lines!
You'd found a bunch of ley lines that, very strangely, spawned in a foggy orb which when walked into, spawned monsters
You concluded soon enough that the yellow ones gave you mora while the blue ones gave you old academic texts
Now, Cyno first approached you because of interest in Rhinedottir's alchemy
It was mainly to warn you to remember the sins and how you ought to be careful
And then he followed you on one of your ley line trips because it was suspicious how you kept finding notes from adventurers who went missing
Sometimes even the occasional weatherworn documents on research not documented in the Akademiya library
And you were fighting random monsters for this? With no way of knowing what would come out? What if there are rift hounds or something worse?
Absolutely not on your own. He's coming with you from now on
Trust in your reliable senior to beat up anything the ley lines spawn with ease
Dottore:
You must have thought you were real smart getting into Ksharewar
Until you found every Kshahrewar student is brilliant and you're not all that special
The very first time you found a puzzle you couldn't solve, you holed yourself up in the library for endless trial and error
Which only ended when some disgruntled senior came by and solved it for you because you were taking up his usual spot
With his fluffy, electric blue hair and startling ruby eyes, he was an eccentric sort of handsome
And so you scooted to the side for him to sit with you
And he only stared at you wondering why you hadn't left yet
Not that you would now that he's sat beside you
Looking over his solution, he was no doubt the brightest of the brilliant fellows in your darshan, and you'd be damned if you didn't get him to teach you his ways
Against his better judgement, he did finally cave to taking you under his wing
Begrudgingly. Though he wouldn't necessarily get rid of you at the first chance he got
Kaveh:
You had the opportunity to attend the Akademiya while the Light of Ksharewar did, what an honour
His work ethic was really something else
It was... inspirational to see, but frustrating to work with
Can you imagine being on your nineteenth draft because the professor squinted a little too hard at your submission which clearly implied they weren't fully satisfied with it?
Yeah well there's no need to imagine, (read in salesman voice) because with Kaveh, that becomes a reality!
For the low low price of your happiness and sanity, you too could be as much of a perfectionist as Kaveh
Of course he isn't that hard on you
He offers to redo the drafts himself since he's the one who thinks there should be modifications
But for one, you weren't about to waste an opportunity to learn from him
And second, you'd feel bad if he slaved away at it himself
So you often ended up in the House of Daena at ungodly hours with him
Which in turn sparks gossip because of how tired you seem and your peers knowing you're often with your very pretty senior
Tighnari:
Congrats on getting into the most popular darshan, Amurta
I sure hope bio is your strong suit bc it isn't mine
The potential projects you can pick from is so broad that it's impossible to have nothing to do and it's doing wonders for your mental state
Until it's not and you find yourself burnt out
Professors who once praised your drive and dedication now look at you in disappointment and disapproval
It's heartbreaking, really, until they ask Tighnari to guide you, thinking you've had a change of heart about your passions
Tighnari called bullshit on this, of course
He knew what the actual situation was once your change in behaviour was described to him
Tumblr media
So when you'd nervously ask him how he was gonna get you back on the work grind, he scoffed and took you out for some relaxing field work
You were wondering what the point of it was, but didn't think it wise to question your well respected senior
At least until his sass got to you and you started quipping back
To which he finally laughed as though he'd succeeded in something
"There you go, you depressing lummox. About time you started loosening up. Stop losing your mind over what you can't do, or you'll start spiralling even more."

Alhaitham
Having a pair of piercing eyes make a hole in the back of your head occasionally is exactly what you expected from your little expedition to Mawtiyima Forest. To a passerby on the road between the Sumeru City and the Palace of Alcazarzaray that would look like two scholars are simply on their way, but Alhaitham is watching you like a hawk. That was anticipated, but the lack of the conversation you’ve had ever since leaving through one of the multiple Akademiya exits creates quite an oppressive atmosphere.
Even you have to admit it’s hard to digest.
“Hey,” calling out to him, you slightly turn your head to see if he is listening or not. With a quick movement of his eyes from observing the surroundings back to your figure you are assured that he does. “You know you do not have to go with me there? I just need to take a couple of pictures of the Leylines to illustrate my research of the Forest grounds, I would’ve been back before dinner.”
The man looks you directly in the eyes, and, have you not dated him longer and known even longer, it could’ve sent chills down your spine and urge you to quickly divert your gaze somewhere else. But you know your boyfriend - to prove something to him you need a strong argument, which sometimes feels like you are defending an academic paper.
Eventually Alhaitham sighs and you brace yourself for an argument of his own, one you are aware of too well.
“It’s been just a couple of weeks since your group was attacked during your research outing and you got injured.”
Yes, that is true, but you got injured only because you were protecting others. It just happened that at that time you were the only weapon wielder in your small team, and the closeness of the area of your expedition convinced you and your colleagues from the Spantamad Darshan that hiring the support group is unnecessary.
If it wasn’t for your injury, which is fine (Akademiya doesn’t have healers for nothing), the Scribe wouldn’t even know you went somewhere and then returned. You saw his working table, you know how much work is on his hands at the moment. But that unfortunate encounter made a stoic man lose his cool a little and go as far as order your Darshan’s secretary, to whom every student must hand the application for any kind of research outside of the Akademiya building, especially in the wild, inform him immediately should you hand in one.
So much for a low-profile relationship.
“Alhaitham,” you stop in your tracks and turn around to come face to face with him. Your lover looks at you inquiringly, stopping only when there is just a few inches between your chests. Next second the teal eyes slightly widen, revealing his diamond-shaped irises fully, and hands dart to wrap around yours, cutting off your attempt to undo the next fastener of your uniform.
“What do you think you are doing?” The feigned calmness in his voice contrasts with the worry in his eyes. You roll yours, sighing in exasperation.
“What does it look like? Trying to open the front of my uniform to show that there is no longer any ready to reopen gash under my collarbones.”
His eye twitches, and for a reason his rising irritation fuels your never-ending desire to mess with him, because actually getting a real reaction out of him is priceless. Especially today.
“And what did you think of, Sir? Oh, I might know,” an alluring grin earns you a huff. “You thought I was going to give you a look at my chest, didn't you?”
“What? This is ridicu-”
“Come on, no need to be modest, my love,” taking advantage of his distracted state, you escape his grip and quickly make work of two more fasteners. “You love my breasts, don’t try and argue, this is an axiom.”
You honestly assume he looks insulted for a moment, after your words leave your mouth and register in his brain. However, this man is much more intelligent and self-assured to actually take an insult and act offended about it. No, he tends to backfire.
“Simply because you turn into a moaning mess when I play with them,” it is your turn to gawk at him wide-eyed, fingers frozen in place on the fourth clasp. And fuck do your knees buckle when he smirks, tasting the control on his tongue again. The control over you with mere words. “Whining and squirming and rubbing your thighs together, when I toy with your nipples. What’s with the face, dear? Am I wrong here? Don’t you beg me to suck just a bit more, while you desperately hump my leg, clawing at my shoulders or tugging on my hair? I know what kind of person you are behind the closed doors of our bedroom, Y/n, I made sure to memorize it.”
“Pff, only bedroom? How bad of a scholar you are, Alhaitham, so unwilling to broaden your horizon,” you move the fabric away, showing him more of the smooth skin and the swell of your breasts. The man feels something else starting to swell in his pants because of your tempting teasing. But he is not ready to give up just yet.
“Oh? Are you implying that I should fuck you right here?”
You shrug your shoulders.
“I am implying that you do not have enthusiasm to do so. How sad, looks like those piles upon piles of papers stripped you bare of your desires. Must be hard doing all this work all the time.”
Something is off about the way you are speaking of his duty. This mischievous glint in your eyes and the smile playing on your lips, like you are taunting him of something he hasn’t figured out yet, of some scheme you came up with and trapped him into…
Wait.
“You don’t need to take the pictures, do you?”
You throw your head back and heartily laugh.
“Nope.”
“And you sent in the application, because you knew I’d follow you.”
“Yep.”
“Because you know that simple words won’t get me out of the office and pay attention to you.”
“Wow, you are so smart,” you applaud him with the most ‘I’m impressed’ look on your face you could master.
He is going to wipe it off.
His sturdy body practically pushes you against the nearby solid surface, mouth silencing yours and hand sneaking into the opening of your uniform, cupping one of the mounds. A moan follows instantly and Alhaitham greedily swallows it, molding your lips with his, hand gently lifting the soft flesh and a thumb running over the swollen bud applying pressure.
“You won’t be so sarcastic once I have you on my cock, and I bet you are tight,” you mewl, when he pinches the nip between his thumb and forefinger and tugs.
“But that's part of "broadening our horizons", right? Now, let’s get your robe out of the way…”
Kazuha
The Chinju Forest basks in the dusk and the beautiful silence. When you and the man beside you were kids, you both were nervous and scared to roam around the area, where the yokais were believed to live. But it always was the most enigmatic and attractive place to you two, and every time the Kaedahara heir came to visit, you ran to the forest to test your courage.
Years later the place doesn't frighten you, quite the opposite - it brings you comfort. It awakens the memory and the flowers glowing all around you make the pictures in your head even clearer.
Of Promises Unkept the Night Flowers Speak… What a poetic name, but such a rueful meaning. You and Kazuha shared so many promises among the fields of fluorescent petals, childish and innocent, but that weighed heavily on your heart when he wasn't there.
I will return again…
You are so glad he did. Many times and yet again.
Of course I will remember you!
And your heart did. Always.
We will never be apart for long or forever…
This vow almost became broken, when your first love fled Inazuma and disappeared into nowhere, a place you didn't know, a place where you couldn't reach him.
One day we’ll be together till the end of our lives…
Not fair! I wanted to say that!
A promise you try not to think about, as you don't want to demand anything from the wandering samurai. He's just been justified and returned to Inazuma to tend to some important matters, concerning his family and legacy. You doubted he'd stay forever.
"You are so quiet," the voice, akin to the whisper of the wind, makes you shiver as if caressed by a passing breeze. "It doesn't sound like you at all."
"How can it sound anything, if I am silent?" You attempt to joke and indeed hear breathless laughter. You don't have the power to tear your gaze from the quickly darkening sky and glance to the side, where you know the person of your many dreams and nightmares is lying on his back, with one knee bent and arms crossed behind his head.
"You know what I mean, sweet sakura bloom," the term of endearment, one from the past, makes you swoon.
"Just thinking," you shrug your shoulders, hands clasped together and resting on your stomach. "About the past."
"The past…" It echoes and quickly disappears in the rustle of grass. The conversation seems to come to a halt, and the word hangs in the cool of the air, like an echo that forgot to run far far away, beyond the line of your sight and the limits your hearing can meet. However, Kazuha proves you wrong, as you sense him moving a little.
“Can I have your hand?”
“What?” Your head whips to the side and your breath hitches, when your eyes make contact with his. The young man is gazing at you, like you are holding stars in your palms, and each one of them has his name written on it. He’s changed his position, now resting on his side, supporting his upper body with an elbow.
“Your hand. Can you give it to me?”
“Um…sure?” Having zero idea of what to expect, you raise the hand, which is closer to him, and reach out. Delicately looking, but roughened by wielding a sword, fingers wrap just beneath your wrist and tug.
Heart skips a beat and then starts violently abusing your ribs, as his lips gingerly press against the inside of the wrist. Eyelids slide close, and Kazuha hums, slowly sliding his fingers higher, until his palm enveloped the back of yours and brought it to his cheek, leaning in your hand.
“Kazu, what are you doing?” The whisper leaves your lips, and you think you lost your voice, eyes stinging and heart aching. You shouldn’t look too deep into it, right?
“I don’t know, Y/n… But it feels so right… Being with you feels so right…” His eyes are back on yours, and you feel like you could kiss him right now, right here, among the glowing flowers, under the cover of the night.
“Do you think we have a chance?”
Do you? This question has been having your mind wrecked for all those years he wasn’t there, couldn’t be there. And every time you came to the only possible answer.
“Yes. I think we do.”
Maybe it is the moon shining in his eyes, or maybe it’s happiness, but the wandering samurai smiles, and the smile outshines the flowers.
“Is that a promise?”
“It is an oath,” you cup his check and trace your thumb under his eye.
“An oath…” he dreamily sighs, and closes his eyes again. You cannot miss the opportunity.
The kiss tastes like the first one you ever shared - the scenery is authentic, the stars, the moon that bask you in their light, are the same. Maybe you two have changed, but the union of your lips is just as innocent as years ago.
You gasp and heartily chuckle, when he rolls you in your previous position on your back and hovers over you. Long locks of his white hair fall down and tickle your cheeks, but you do not mind, raising your arms and wrapping around his shoulders. One arm keeps him above you, and the other hand settles on your hip - gently, yet so intimately.
“If it is an oath, I want to solidify it. To prove I will come back. Will you let me?” Seriousness overtakes his features, as the fingers on your body move to the hem of your yukata. You get nervous.
“Kazuha, that’s-”
“I am not going to penetrate you, my bloom,” soothingness is back again. “There are more ways of engraving myself in your body and giving you pleasure a woman like you deserves. May I show you?”
You chew on your bottom lip. Though still nervous, you know that Kazuha will never do something to hurt or disrespect you. And after all these years, you still trust him.
“Yes… You may.”
Your body writhes and spasms, nudging the sides of your open yukata further off your body. The cool air toys with your heated skin, but you could care less, when your man, your lover, is showing you ecstasy you never knew one could experience. Sure, you touched yourself and slid your fingers between your sleaked folds, learning of pleasure with burning cheeks, but his mouth is nothing in comparison to it. He kisses, he licks, he sucks, he worships you, and pours his love into your body, for it to stay with you, until he comes back.
"One day we'll be together…"
Well, 'one day' is not 'never'.

The sound of heart is in your ears and your head pulses with each beat, as lungs are desperately trying to provide you with oxygen. Your legs are starting to wear out, and your stamina is running out, as you are fleeing farther and farther into the woods, though making sure to follow the general direction of close to where you should end up.
It’s a good thing you know Sumeru’s wilderness better than the back of your hand. The bad thing is that Tighnari knows it even better.
For the current occasion it’s also a bad thing that his tracking and hunting skills are insane, and the keen sense of smell and hearing he possesses as a fennec fox hybrid doesn’t help at all.
Which is actually the whole reason behind you sprinting around the Avidya Forest - your lover’s hybrid tendencies, that includes many instincts, as well as him experiencing rut. Now, it’s not all that bad, he has it once a year and is always prepared with other forest rangers ready to take over in his stead for a week, while he is away, holed up in his special cave, and dealing with what he calls an “inconvenient, but luckily short occasion”.
Only this year it is different, because you, his lover of a couple of years, expressed your willingness to help him out, since he mentioned in passing, how having a partner commonly shortens the extension of ruts.
You remember it clear as day, how his ears perked up and tail stilled completely, as his eyes, usually exuding calmness and confidence, stared at you dumbfoundedly. And that’s quite understandable why - sure, even if he wouldn’t say it outloud unless explicitly asked, the man already considers you his mate, someone he’d be delighted to spend the rest of his life with. Offering him your assistance during such an important and vulnerable moment is almost like asking him to marry you and start a family together. Which is exactly what his animal side would want, as he told you, after sitting you down to explain what you were proposing to him.
Your cheeks flush, when you remember his precise words.
"Y/n, listen attentively and take in everything I am going to say. While in a rut I won't be in the right state of mind. Everything about you will drive me crazy - you touch, your smell, your taste… The only thought planted in my head would be to breed you, to make you a mother. You sure you are ready to try and handle me?"
And you sure are, with the full knowledge of what to expect and all those birth control medicines you've drunk and stored even more in a cave just in case, to prevent any unwanted outcomes. This way you know you can let him go wild and do whatever he needs for his own inner comfort.
A twig snaps nearby and you are reminded of your game of escape - something to whet and fuel Tighnari’s desire, teasing him by depriving him of your body - the only thing he needs right now.
Thump, thump, thump
Thump, thump, thump
Your heart is beating even faster and legs ache, hardly having any strength left to go on. You think that maybe it is enough - after all, you still need energy for what is to come - so you turn to the left and slow down a little, heading towards your haven.
”Found you, little minx.”
You gulp and almost cry in surprise when a low snarl is uttered near your ear. Spooked, you attempt to dart in the opposite direction, but two strong, trained with bow arms circle around your middle and yank you backwards, closer to the man’s body.
Instantly you become uncomfortably hot; he seems to be overheating, because there is no way a person without pyro vision could produce so much warmth. Initial shock is quickly replaced by concern, and you grab one of his hands, still clutching your waist, and squeeze it.
“Tighnari, are you alright?” You sound breathless and you are, chest repeatedly rising and falling with every sharp inhale and exhale. The male behind you growls and buries his face between your neck and shoulder, sniffing and shuddering in pleasure from smelling so many delicious scents that are parts of you.
“Yes… Yes, I am,” he pants, free hand reaching up to grope your breast, mindful of his claws.
You are so soft, so warm, so welcoming… Everything in him screams to mark you, to claim you, to sink his teeth in your flesh and his cock in your tight walls, and breed, breed, breed.
However, there is still a sliver of consciousness in him and he wills to unclasp his arms from around you, stepping back a little, and ask you one last time.
“This is your last call, Y/n. If you have any doubts, better leave now, before I drag you to the cave and-”
“I am not backing down,” you turn around to face him, and Archons, you are so beautiful, with that determined look in your eyes, hands reaching for his, gently, but firmly enveloping them in your hold. If he could, he'd curl his tail in the shape of a heart. “Yeah, maybe I freaked for a moment here, but it’s just because I’ve never had you chasing me all the way through the forest,” you chuckle, cutting the distance between you two again and kissing the tip of his nose, smiling when Tighnari lets out a quiet purr. “And I don’t mind being ‘dragged’ to the cave, because, honestly, my legs hurt.”
“No second thoughts?” The male rubs his nose against yours in a comforting manner, ears twitching excitedly. You shake your head, pressing your body to his, provoking another shudder to run down his spine and hips buck into yours with a low groan.
“No second thoughts,” you reassure him, gently smiling. “So, with everything discussed once again… How about you bring me to our…” his pupils blow wide, when he guesses what you are about to say,” …nest?”
Before you can say anything else, something indefinite glints in your lover’s eyes, and the next moment you find yourself thrown over his shoulder, and carried to the safety of your temporary ‘home’.
Thoma
Even two islands away, feet firmly planted on the Watatsumi grounds with your hand tightly clasped in a big warm one of your husband, it is still so hard to believe it. A whole two-week vacation the Kamisato Estate's housekeeper was granted by his blue-haired master. Two weeks of no duties, no running around doing seemingly endless errands, no coming home late, because he had to stay longer to check and make sure the estate’s grounds were spotless before some esteemed guests visit–
Two weeks of having the love of your life all to yourself.
You suspected that the one standing behind this sweet surprise was actually Lady Ayaka, whose friend you'd become soon after your husband - boyfriend at the time - made your relationship official and introduced you to the siblings per their request. You know she easily could, as she often expresses her sympathy when it comes to Thoma spending not only his day, but night as well at their residence completing the tasks.
If this is really the case, you'll have to thank her later, because you haven't seen your man be more excited about spending time with you in a while, and that elation was absolutely catchy and mutual.
Having no desire to attract any attention from the Sangonomiya Shrine, you opt to stay at your friend’s house in the Bourou Village, which, after the battles were over, started progressively growing as many people moved to live there, your friend and her family included.
First two days you slept like logs. As your friend told you on the first day, hardly concealing her laughter, she tried to wake you up around the afternoon to offer lunch before she’d go to work, but you only groaned and clinged to each other tighter, bodies practically intertwined, completely ignoring her words and presence. So she let you be, leaving the shoji doors slightly open for a small breeze to enter your room.
The next couple of days you spent exploring. Now rested and full of pent up energy Thoma wanted to look around, with your hand in his and a bag over his shoulder with some snacks and beverages. Kind elders tried to volunteer as your guides, but you kindly declined before your lover could say anything - it was your vacation after all, and you were willing to share the experience with him only.
That’s how you found this pretty cave - an azure glimmer played on pinkish walls, creating an absolutely magical atmosphere in the dimmed light of the grotto. The passage was quite narrow and hard to notice from a glance, so you kinda assumed people hardly came here.
Your own temporary romantic spot to be alone…
You kissed Thoma so hard when he suggested returning the next day.
The water is cool, but it is nothing of a problem for a pyro user. You test it with the tips of your toes, fingers busy with your clothes; warmth shoots all the way up, pleasantly pouring in your chest, and you exhale softly.
“Too hot?” The usual spring verdure in his eyes shines akin to the clearest emerald the jeweler could encounter, and you find yourself lost in their glow. Smiling, you draw your foot back and, shrugging one of the outer layers off, step closer to where he is crouching with his hand kept under water.
“No, honey, it’s perfect,” your fingers find their way in his short blond hair and gently ruffle, making the man mirror your smile.
“Well, if you say so,” ah, here his lovely face is - right in front of yours, gaze soft and adoring, melting your heart like a popsicle.
Thoma blissfully sighs against your mouth, when you purge your lips together. Warm palms instantly settle on your hips, while you wrap your arms around his neck, pushing your body closer to his, humming in pride when his breath hitches.
"But you know what, or rather who is hot?" The question leaves your lips just a second after his lips leave them. The tall man hums, lowering his head to lead a trail of soft pecks from the side of your jaw to your collarbones.
"Yeah… It's my wife," he says as a matter-of-factly, but so tenderly, planting a kiss right between your soft breasts, nose nudging the hems of your shirt further apart. You burst into giggles, reaching your hands to cradle his head and then bend down to kiss the top of it.
"I was actually meaning my husband," a murmur to his hair feels like a sacred secret, but to Thoma, who knows your heart, it's the truth he believes in.
You lower yourself into the water. The rise in temperature makes you shiver, and your breasts pleasurably tingle, nipples swelling and getting sensitive. With a soft bite on your lower lip, you slowly, barely graze the stiff nubs with the pads of your forefingers, and keen on the sensation. Only Archons know how long it has been since the last time you and your husband were intimate. You miss the weight of his warm body on top of yours, of his mind-blowing kisses, which grew desperate closer to the release, of his deep and steady thrusts, of the angelic noises escaping his unmarked throat…
You hope Thoma is having the same urges and is going to make love to you right here. Well, right after he finishes folding your clothes, of course. Yeah, habits die hard, especially if they are part of a working routine. But damn, do those ripped back and defined shoulder blades look nice…
When his body slides next to yours, you don't lose any second and settle in his lap, arms loosely resting on his shoulders and chest pushing against his. Comprehension flashes behind green eyes - the sultry look on your face and the way you press your bodies close are the giveaway of which mood you are in.
Your back slightly arches when two callused fingers slide between your folds, the pads pressing into your clit, giving it a small rub, as his mouth leaves open-mouthed kisses against the heated skin of your neck. Thoma shudders at your needy mewl, not even fighting the desire quickly rising in his chest and in the pit of his stomach.
He is going to remind you of how head over heels he is for you, and make this vacation truly memorable.
Even if it’s not in the aspect one would expect.

last attempt to bring this to light: the tl;dr of the khaenri'ah/kaeya/angel(seelie) connections
kaeya owns a book called adventures of angelos; in greek angelos means angel
kaeya (and venti's) favorite haunt is angel's share; the logo for angel's share is two angels drinking from a wine glass
kaeya and dainsleif like death after noon, an alcoholic drink whose main ingredient is absinthe. absinthe is created from wormwood (apsinthos), also the name of a fallen angel or star
the abyss mages chant in enochian which is the language of the angels. they chant in this language to regenerate their shields or control hilichurls. when kaeya spots the abyss mage back in the temple of the wolf, it speaks to him in enochian. kaeya claims he's "blessed with certain linguistic powers" when asked how he obtained information about the abyss twin
there is a tale of a seelie survivor (speculated to be columbina) singing in a strange unfamiliar language to the listener
arama says the seelie used to be as fast as a storm; kaeya has a stamina decreasing passive called hidden strength
when we first meet kaeya it's notably in front of the anemo god statue, which has wings, in front of the cathedral. kaeya is also seen in front of this statue in official art, his character teaser and in his hangout in the venti route
kaeya mentions he likes listening to hymns
the traveler notes the sinner is reminiscent of the upside-down defiled statue of the anemo archon, which also has wings
nabu malikata is a seelie survivor, her last name malikata can also mean angels in arabic (malayikata); seelie are heavenly envoys/angels. venti is seen playing with a seelie in an official video
seelie will seek humans for favors and lead them to treasure. even though it was a ruse, in his story quest, kaeya sought the traveler for help and guided them to treasure.
the jinn are born from waterlilies nourished by nabu malikata's blood. kaeya gifts the traveler a ~mysterious~ lamp said to have housed a powerful jinni.
the symbol for the spantamad darshan is a peacock which is based on the mythical peacock angel. this peacock existed in-game and was sacred. kaeya's constellation is a peacock. (it's possible the peacock was the divine bird simurgh -> fashioned from khvarena -> born from nabu malikata's body)
venti writes a poem to kaeya that could imply kaeya came from the dark sea. the ruins in the dark sea contain palaces of the seelie
both nabu malikata and columbina don't understand or possess human emotion. columbina is unbothered in every situation not unlike kaeya's cavalier attitude towards serious matters <- see crepus's death scene
in the official art for genshin concert 2021, venti and kaeya are shown holding a harp and a trumpet, both instruments associated with angels

Conversation
Alhaitham: Cyno is so in love with you that he has zero common sense. He will believe anything you say.
Tighnari: That's not true. He's the General Mahamatra and a top graduate from the Spantamad Darshan.
Alhaitham: Wanna bet? Tell him that you're pregnant.
[Hours later...]
Cyno, in the aisle of baby clothes: Wait a minute...
Cyno: I don't know if we're having a boy or girl yet.

here’s a little curveball that one of my friends threw at me, and i felt like asking you since you like both haitham and ratio :]
what darshan do you think ratio would be in/graduate from if he went to the akademiya? (either before alhaitham or during, i can see these two getting into debates nonetheless 😭) i said haravatat and/or vahumana, and my friend said kshahrewar
- 🍁 anon (i think this was mine???)
okay lets think
(reminder for ppl who dont know or forgot already the six darshans: amurta (biology), spantamad (elementalism/study of ley lines), haravatat (semiotics), rtawahist (study of the stars), kshahrewar (technology) and vahumana (aetiology/history and origin))
ratio has 8 doctoral degrees so far (btw the "doctor" in "dr ratio" lit means medical doctor tho and not his doctoral degrees), presumably in biology, medicine, natural theology, philosophy, mathematics, physics, engineering and some other that wasnt mentioned
in his story, his old professor excitedly told about ratio when he was still in middle school, effortlessly solving complicated mathematical equations way out of his fellow students comprehension and being able to prove an equation even his professor struggled to prove. the entire part is all about ratio and his mastery of math, physics and philosophy and stuff, so based on all this and his entire animations w his lil equations floating around n stuff, i also think kshahrewar would be his darshan. all the studies of math and physics, the engineering and puzzle solving...w the added bonus of his creativity and interest in the arts. yea thats def ratio
(another darshan could be amurta bc of medicine and biology but i think kshahrewar fits him best)

The Theory of Everything (Alhaitham x Reader)
Tumblr media
Sumeru city is as bustling as the pitter-patters of rain in its forests. Scholars, merchants, adventurers, thespians, performers and even commonfolk are in harmony with each other ー whether they seek refuge, or a deadline to follow through, or they simply want to entertain themselves and the passersby ー there seems to be a place reserved just for anyone and everybody else. Perhaps that is why it is called the city of wisdom ー it gathers people from all walks of life together to share their knowledge, woes and experiences through their own poem and song.
And you found it perfect. Sumeru is your home, and for sure even wanderers feel their hearts fill with the warmth of belongingness once they step foot in the city.
So when the skies' hue meet the melodies of the Dusk Birds, you gleefully make your way to the Akademiya, where a certain stoic scribe awaits, albeit deniably, for your presence.
Alhaitham heaves a long sigh. Another long day, he thinks to himself. He had just finished signing documents submitted by the scholars of all Darshans that were filed 1-4 days prior. On top of that, he had to attend a meeting with Spantamad researchers in their planned expedition in the deserts of Sumeru.
So, to say that he wants to relax at his home and continue reading one of the science fiction books you gifted him (he loves it very much, thank you)… is an understatement.
Since his working hours are coming to a close, he decided that he'll take a minute or two to relax before heading home. Leaning back on his chair, he rubbed circles on his temples and closed his eyes.
For a while, he seemed like a content cat, enjoying his solitude.
So when he heard your loud voice greeting the scholars who are on their way home, as if he practiced this a thousand times (he didn't, he genuinely just doesn't want you seeing him slipping up), he immediately grabbed his pen and a few papers to pretend that he's doing something productive.
Which he does ー he always does, and you always tell him that he doesn't seem to notice it.
"Is he still here?" You ask, and a faint voice replies to you just outside his office.
"Good! Take care on the way home." You replied before opening the door to his office.
Alhaitham doesn't know how to respond, you always surprise him and it's always at times when he would much rather be alone.
But can he blame you? You always end up bringing much better company than his own solace offers.
Again, he's too aloof to admit it to you, but he enjoys being with you. He wishes you seek him like this forever.
"Knock, knock~" You smile, voice suddenly as gentle as the breeze. As if you knew how to read the room, you quietly walked towards the chair in front of his desk.
"Hello." Alhaitham fixed the papers and placed them back where they came from.
"You were pretending to sign them just now, weren't you?" You leaned your chin on top of your hands.
Alhaitham lets out a breathy laugh, as if he surrenders to your receptive eyes.
You laugh with him as well, getting up to walk behind his chair.
"Close your eyes." You say, and he does so. You fish your pocket for the ointment you bought from a travelling merchant from Liyue.
He wishes you don't see the smile plastered on his face, lest he'll wish for the ground to eat him alive.
"This one is made from the extract of Silk Flowers, Glaze Lilies and Lotuses. I hope you don't mind the fragrance. This was from a merchant from Liyue. He said it's good for headaches. Too bad you didn't get to visit his stall. It was amazing, really. He even sells this beautiful reddish silk robe. I didn't buy it of course, I've been saving up for the new novel series of this author I've been hearing about for a while. Though I really wanted it…" You rambled, and he finds your soft voice pleasant. It was as if he was listening to a songbird sing him to sleep.
You massaged his temples with the ointment, and a comfortable silence befalls between the two of you.
"You know you could be doing other important things right now." He finally says.
You flick his forehead.
"Are you implying that I'm wasting my time when I'm with you?" You bite back.
"You do nothing whenever you come here."
"Well, what do you do when you come over to my place? Nothing, so do not talk me out of visiting you in the Akademiya. Besidesー"
"I commend your promptness. You come here just right after I am through with my working hours." Alhaitham holds back a laugh.
A pause.
"Besides, I am well liked by the scholars and sages here ー is what I was about to say… Unlike you." You smile, awaiting his response.
"…Can I see the ointment?" Alhaitham changes the subject, a silent acceptance of defeat. You laugh and hand it over to him.
Wrapping your hands around his nape, you rested your chin on his shoulder.
"Feel any better now?"
"I like its mild scent. Did you buy a perfume version of this?" He asked.
"I did. I'll wear it every time I come to Surasthana. I can finally smell like the flowers there." You chuckle, stroking his hair.
"We should go." Go home, is what he meant.
"Perfect! I was about to invite you to come to the Razan Garden." A misinterpretation, coming from your end.
"And stay there until you fall asleep on me? You seem to treat that place as your second bedroom." In truth, he really doesn't want to go. He is exhausted and he wants to finally be able to do nothing and fall asleep.
Yet here you are. The bluish glow of the flowers in bloom blend in with the color of the starry night sky.
"Ta-da! They're in full bloom. I tended to these flowers for months. What do you think?" You cheered.
"Impressive. Here, rub the ointment on your wrists. You told me you want to smell like flowers." Alhaitham returns the ointment to you and you smile.
You both take a seat on the bench to admire the city.
Alhaitham stares at your figure, engulfed by the tranquility of the sanctuary ー both the place and the being, which to him is you.
"Haitham, do you believe in gods?" You were staring at the stars.
"I do. I believe that gods and humans should be treated as equals. I do not see the point of bowing down to such deities… Offerings made for their honor… I believe it encourages pride and self-righteousness amongst the devotees themselves, whether they are aware of it or not." Alhaitham replies.
"What if they didn't exist?"
"Then we will inevitably create ones among us."
You pondered about his reply for a moment, and he admires the way you put your fingers on your chin. How adorable, he wishes to tell you.
"Why?" You face him and seated yourself in between his thighs, head resting on his chest.
"Humans are dogmatic creatures who seek order. Even if we evolve into a society who does not serve a ruler, we will still follow a set of laws, either implemented by us or the gods themselves." He replies, and when you fall deeper into your thoughts, he adds,
"We each define order in different ways, but in the end we will always seek the common ground. No matter how stubborn one is, they are bound to seek people who are similar to them, but of course this isn't always the case."
You gather your thoughts and Alhaitham kisses your cheek.
"I haven't thought of that before."
"I'm surprised. You've read too much philosophy and fiction. I thought you'd be into these things more than I am."
You brow twitches and you look up at him.
"Is that an insult?"
"I am only describing what I have observed."
You sigh at his reply, now it is your turn to accept defeat, and to that he chuckles.
"Do you know why I love to travel a lot?" Alhaitham hums in reply.
"I want to discover the edge of Teyvat. Even if in reality, it's the last place I'm going to step foot into. To know the stories and secrets of different nations… fuels a beautiful passion in my heart."
Alhaitham suddenly hugs you tight. Was it out of endearment? Fear of not seeing you again? Admiration? You didn't bother reading too much into it, for all you know it could be all those things all at once.
So you enjoyed his presence and held his arms in return.
"We are as old as the stars. The iron in our blood… the nitrogen in our DNA… do you find it bittersweet that what embodies our lives were once in the hearts of dying stars?"
Alhaitham ruffles your hair, satisfied with your rhetoric.
"And once we pass on for the next generation to take place, the cycle continues." He agrees.
The noise of the city echoes beneath you.
Beautiful. That is one word that Alhaitham would describe you and being around you.
You could talk and ponder about anything and you never get tired of asking him questions that even he doesn't have a definite answer to.
He enjoys it. He enjoys pondering about life with you.
"You sure love to think about the General Relativity and Quantum theory by relating the cosmos and human life." He describes.
"I don't think it's supposed to be that way. Quantum theory mostly deals with atoms and particles."
"I know. I was just trying to create metaphors."
"Well…aren't they scientific?" You attempted to pull a joke.
"That's very funny." He says sarcastically, and you laughed.
"Hey, Haitham."
"Yes?"
"If you believe in gods… do you believe in my beauty?" You sat on the railing and you wiggled your brows at him expectantly.
He sighs. He doesn't just believe in it, because it's the truth. And what else are you supposed to do with the truth?
Being with you feels like time speeds and slows down altogether. He always finds himself wishing for it to last, yet he also wants it to be over to save room for a new moment with you.
"Stop asking pointless questions." He reprimands.
"But, Haitham~ I want to know."
"You already know the answer to that."
"Eh, I want to hear it from you. I cannot have my own mind drown in my delusions."
Alhaitham laughs. "Well, that happens. You like to think about farfetched things."
"That's not funny!" You pout.
Alhaitham looks into your eyes and smiles at you.
"I believe in it."
Your eyes light up, gesturing for him to continue his answer.
"I believe in your beauty. The theory of everything is nothing compared to the moments I share with you." You may or may not sense it, but his heart was beating out of his chest. It's a wonder how he managed to say that without breaking character.
"Hehe, that's more like it." You smiled and peppered kisses on his face, to which he chuckled in reply.
He doesn't want to say it out loud, but you make him want to believe such a unification of the larger and the microscopic aspects of the world and the cosmos. You make him want to stop questioning everything.
He will give you the world and bend the laws of nature if you so wish. But you're too fickle-minded and frankly, he'd rather not do that too.
He loves you and himself enough to not do such ruthless things. He likes the comfort of his current life and where it's heading.
Especially because you're in it, so he'd prefer not to cause unnecessary disturbances to ruin your relationship.
The summer night's winds course through your bodies. You shiver slightly in his hold.
"We really need to go home now." He finally decides.
"Sure, I really just wanted you to see the flowers I worked so hard on maintaining." You say casually, yawning, as if you didn't have a deep conversation just a while ago.
Yes, you truly are fickle minded. Alhaitham smiles to himself.

What Happens When You Meet A Scholar
Wanderer x Scholar!Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
wherein the Wanderer finds out you were stranger than he originally thought.
contains: gn!reader, mostly fluff, mentions of reader committing questionable felonies like breaking into libraries, slight cursing bc pls let wanderer say f*ck, wanderer whacks you awake one time and you whack him when he's late
Tumblr media
If the Wanderer were to compare you to anything, he'd compare you to one of those... Eremites who's always dancing and look like their head are in the clouds.
Or maybe an unusual hilichurl.
(Maybe the unusual hilichurl is more accurate.)
He doesn't really know why, after you dragged him into your cooking interest club, did he choose to even stay.
A majority of the meals the club makes on a daily basis are meals that he isn't exactly fond of (the other members complain that the only meals he ever liked were the ones that were even more bitter than their professor on a Monday morning).
But he always found himself back in that little kitchenette, holding a bowl and a whisk for some reason, watching idly as you taught him how to do various cooking techniques that he never really cared to learn; he's a puppet for goodness sake, he doesn't need to eat.
Thus, because he lacks the ability of leaving, and you lack the ability of having fight or flight instincts when it came to him, your relationship is quite... endearing in a strange way.
❅ He learns that technically, you belonged to the Darshan Spantamad, the Darshan specializing in elementalism, but the reason he's never seen you anywhere on campus before was because you were a driyosh and you just came back to Sumeru after taking a quick trip to Inazuma. (Though, you mentioned you wouldn't be leaving again for another few weeks.)
❅ The Wanderer is perplexed whenever he talks with you because you always, always, always deflect every abrasive and sarcastic comment he makes. It's not that his bratty attitude goes over your head, rather, it's like it bounces off of it; you hear him, you understand that he's trying to rile you up, but you always wave off his attempts and treat him like you treat everyone else.
❅ He's now a permanent "thorn" on your side, by the way, much to Nahida's slight chagrin because that also means he's skipping lectures again. At least he's socializing(?)
❅ He always remarks about how you look exhausted and dead tired, such is the life of an Akademiya student trying to write a thesis proposal that won't get rejected this time. He also caught you flat out snoring in one of the libraries once when you were strangely absent from the kitchenette and he went out to find you (albeit complaining halfheartedly). When you awoke, he's already pushing a plate of food and a cup of coffee towards you with a scowl, saying stuff along the lines of "what would you do without me" and "for a scholar, you're so stupid to skip lunch".
❅ You ask him how he managed to sneak food and drinks into the library and he decides to not mention anything about open windows and his Anemo vision. (He also decides not to mention how you were mumbling in your sleep, stuff along the lines of "you can't drop out because of a single rejected thesis" and "you can't give up yet")
❅ Speaking of breaking rules in the library, you ask him to help you break into the library one night too.
❅ He was just as perplexed as the first time he met you.
❅ You mention some books you need for the research study you were doing, and while he does make a great point by saying that you can just borrow them without needing to break in, you're also basically a broke Akademiya student.
"It's just 500 mora."
"Yes, but it's 500 mora." Stop spending so much on shady resources then.
❅ He always ends up helping you anyway because 1), he has nothing better to do and 2), it would be so funny if the both of you were to get caught just because you refuse to pay the borrowing fee. If he sees you emerge from the restricted section, you can trust him to keep his lips sealed because divulging secrets without fear is a sin in the Akademiya, isn't it? (He's just eager to see what kind of fucked up research you've been doing that required you to steal restricted books and pay criminal amounts of mora for research resources if only he knew)
❅ Whenever you have tests and quizzes that the professors randomly decide to give you, the Wanderer is always there not to help you exactly but to tease you about how little you actually know of the field of elementalism. You admit that you only took up the course for a friend you once knew. He was about to pry further, maybe finally find out what vulnerabilities aloof and flighty you may have, but you're dead asleep and drooling on your book before he could do so, and whacking you awake made him forget all of his inquiries.
❅ Sometimes, the two of you share classes per what Nahida has assigned him to, and those are the only classes he willingly takes. Though, be prepared, he's like that kid who comes late into class armed with only a pencil and a blank notebook he hasn't written in in ages. He'll come into the lecture hall 20 minutes late and when you chastise him for it, he'll tell you that "if the teacher isn't here yet, he's not late." One bonk for him. He'll also unceremoniously drape himself over your shoulder when you take out the Prerequisites in the World of Alchemy and Elementalism book you've been urging him to buy since day one. He prefers sharing yours, thank you very much. It's more fun to annoy you by stopping you from turning the page because he's "not done yet" but turning the page himself even when YOU'RE not done yet. The only time you ever openly whack him with his stupid hat.
❅ He doesn't listen to a word in the lecture but he manages to retain the information when you explain it to him, recalling the professor's words from off the top of your head. You almost think that he isn't listening because he hasn't said a word to interrupt you, but when you stop talking he goes, "Who said you can stop? I'm still lost on how the different elements react to each other and create residuals, you know?" He just likes listening to your voice but he'd rather face retribution from everyone he'd wronged than admit that.
❅ Now, when it comes to the cooking interest club itself, the Wanderer is a... participant observer at best.
❅ The other club members will most often just find him either: by your side, helping you with cutting up ingredients, taste testing the hot broth that would have otherwise been too hot for a human's tongue (instead of questioning his inhuman traits, you've taken advantage of them for the most mundane things what kind of academic scholar are you), or creepily brooding and sulking and staring at everyone else preparing some dishes. The latter is when you go out back to fetch some more ingredients; no one lets you go out back to fetch ingredients anymore because of this man.
❅ Aside from the day he first came to the small kitchenette, his birthday, he hasn't cooked a single dish of his own again and honestly, everyone was dying to have some of his Shimi Chazuke again, the bitter tang of the tea complimented the sweet taste of the rice perfectly. But he refused to cook for everyone again and because of his more than bratty behavior, instead of being intimidated like the rest of the Akademiya students, they're exasperated and endeared.
❅ One time, however, the club hosted a cookfest, where pairs are tasked with running a food stall with any dish of their choice. Obviously, when you heard the announcement, you immediately turned to the Wanderer and despite his protests, you end up becoming one of the pairs. It wasn't supposed to be a contest or anything, just a simple day where you all cook and sell your dishes to the people of Sumeru City. However, the other club members made a bet that whoever got the most sales will be exempted from dishwashing duties for one whole month.
❅ He swore he has never seen your eyes fire up like they did when that was announced.
"Wanderer."
"...what."
"We must win."
"Absolutely not. I'm not going to exert anymore effort than I need to in something as silly as this."
"Then would you like to be outdone by the guy who thought a turnip was beetroot and the guy who thought we had no more onion powder because he read the label of one of our containers as noino?"
"..."
"Exactly."
❅ Your stall had the most customers the entire day, with a bunch of different people arriving to buy food he made. Even Lesser Lord Kusanali and the illustrious Traveler with her floating friend came by, and while you were enamored with their presence, the Wanderer just clicked his tongue. (Like what he's been doing for the past few weeks, he will not mention how he noticed the fact that some of their customers oddly looked like the other members of the club, nor the fact that their posts were oddly empty at the same time.)
❅ Don't worry, when at the end of the day you complain about not having the chance to eat his cooking all afternoon, he'll hand feed you some chazuke just to "shut you up". Though, he won't complain about the obvious stars in your eyes when you chew on the bite; he'll even tease you for it but god forbid if any one of the club members tease the both of you for acting so intimate.
❅ Compliment him too much on his cooking skills, or even make an offhand comment about how his superb cooking skills can "survive the test of time and rival the Electro Archon's eternity", and the comments would go through his hat and straight to his head. Your praise literally DID something to his braincells that rewired his entire dopamine supply and transport system. He'll be cooking something for you one way or another, it doesn't matter what it is.
"Oh, Unagi Chazuke this time?" "It's a more common version in Inazuma than my Shimi Chazuke. Well? Is it up to your taste, scholar?"
"The meat on the Tandoori Roast Chicken is so tender, what technique did you use?" "Funny you should say that, I simply..."
"So? Aren't you going to accept this?" "...why do I feel like you've been feeding me more than usual?" "Nonsense, who said that? What a ridiculous conclusion to make. Do you know what my reputation is in the Akademiya? Do you think I'd ever willingly feed anyone anything that I make? Right. Now, should have I fried the Samosas for a few more seconds or no?"
❅ He would rather die than have anyone find out that the reason he's been borrowing more and more books on cuisine and recipes was because of you. He would rather die even more than have someone tell you and he is looking at you, Buer, yes you, don't you dare Nahida.
❅ Oh, well, Nahida would never rat this Wanderer's feelings out to anyone, especially you. She respects his privacy, having grown fond of the puppet like she would a brother. However, it's difficult not to make teasing remarks and throw him a knowing glance everytime they're in the Grand Bazaar together and she catches sight of you, him already staring at you with a distant look in his eyes.
"Are they the person you've been growing fond of, Wanderer?"
"What? Who? No. Shut up. That's impossible. Who would ever grow fond of someone like them? I'll make seafood tonight if you tell this to anyone."
❅ Oh my, she has her work cut out for her then.
❅ The Wanderer thinks you're stranger than he originally thought. You treat him like everyone else despite his rudeness, you dabble in forbidden topics for your research and break into facilities just to get your hands on sources, you love it when he cooks, you're competitive at the right moments. And most of all, you make him feel something in his chest he never thought he'd ever feel.
❅ Maybe this was the cruelest fate Celestia could bestow upon him, giving him something like you, oddly the purest thing in his life, that he knew he would never dare to taint with his bloody hands.
❅ If only he knew.

if you could choose a darshan, which one do you think fits you best?
[ extra information: darshans are disciplines/courses with their own specialties and there are six of them under the akademiya. so, think of this as my asking you to choose a university course but genshinfied. (/lh) ]

Alhaitham & Kaveh | Sweet Gratitude
ıllı Synopsis: A polyamous relationship was not common in Sumeru, yet Alhaitham and Kaveh chose what their hearts desired—You, the most important person who patiently loved them through thick and thin. Their gratitudes were expressed in ways only you could understand.
ıllı Genre: Fluff
ıllı Notes: Polyamorous relationship
ıllı A/N: It’s December 31st and a few hours until 2023! I couldn’t help myself and wrote a short story with them!
Tumblr media
New Year was often not celebrated by scholars in Sumeru. Most students were either busy with their final paper or were preparing for their thesis presentation. The higher-ups were also in the same predicament especially now that new Sages were appointed and rules were revised to become more humane and righteous.
For the Scribe, Light of Kshahrewar, and Eccentric Spantamad, it was the time for you three to take a break from papers and persistent scholars. Lord Kusanali granted you three a fruitful vacation after finishing the papers for the year and for establishing new programs to be implemented next year. She was amazed especially with the paper you turned in about a substitute for elemental sight. It might still be at its experimental stage, but if something convenient could be created from your research, it will be easier to unlock more potential for elementalism.
The first few days of your vacation were filled with exploring the Avidya Forest to gather ingredients from monsters, mostly those that could conjure elemental attacks. Alhaitham would accompany you, but he was mostly there to simply stroll while you fight monsters. You did not mind, since he needed to go out every now and then. Kaveh, on the other hand, would sometimes pull you two to windowshop in Port Ormos. Alhaitham and Kaveh still bickered but not too much to the point that you wanted to leave.
“Yeah? And how about that time you left your keys in the cooking pot? You would think that a man in your darshan would be so careful as not to misplace things. How funny.” Alhaitham scoffed. Kaveh, growing red in the face, excused that he was tired that time from all the drafting he had done. You tapped the two on their shoulders and popped slices of Zaytun Peaches in their mouths.
“You two make mistakes, and it’s only human. Let’s buy wine and baklava later. I also have to buy ingredients for candied ajilenakh nuts for Lord Kusanali.” You uttered, pulling the two by their arms. Your eyes missed the contented look on the two scholars’ faces. It was not every day you see somebody that could stand their attitude. The two were grateful to have you in their lives.
Still, these two drove you crazy from time to time. New Year, which you three decided to celebrate together, was not out of the question.
“AAAAHHH! Why is the Padisarah Pudding burning!? Alhaitham, did I not tell you to check it every now and then while I ask Cyno and Tighnari for a few herbs?” You asked as you tried to put out the fire that was reigning over the pot. Alhaitham looked up from his book and stared. He turned to the side and muttered that he was lost in his book.
“You read that book like a hundred times already. I’m pretty sure that at this point, you already memorized each line from that book.” You deadpanned. He smirked and thanked you for the compliment. It only caused you to sigh in pain.
Rummaging through the cabinet and cooler, you check out for extra ingredients you could use to remake the pudding. Cooking the roast and panipuri emptied the cooler already, and somebody has to go get the grocery before the stores are emptied by locals. After checking that there was enough, you turned to Alhaitham and asked where Kaveh was. Silence greeted you.
You looked up from the cooler and saw him glancing at the top of the cabinet where you stored the wine. A shaky breath left your lips, hands trembling in irritation. Just then, Kaveh stepped out of his room, tipsy.
“(Y/N)! Hahaha! T-This wine is delectable. You have such great taste, love!” He slurred over, taking sluggish steps towards you.
“I did try to warn him that you were saving the wine for today, but he insisted that you were going to be ‘chill’ with it.” Alhaitham excused.
The thread of patience finally snapped. With a smile, you turned to the two, slamming the knife you were cutting the flowers with. The two flinched, pulled out of their stupor.
“You two have five seconds to get out of this house and do something productive. Either you bring the ingredients from Gandharva Ville or buy our groceries. Choose.” You uttered, your vision flaring as the ice slowly crept through the counter. The temperature inside the house was dropping fast that Kaveh screeched in fear. He panicked and grabbed the list from the counter, while Alhaitham went to fetch his coat.
You waved your hand around to dispel the ice before taking the juicer out to extract the essence from Padisarah and sweet flowers. It will take some time, but it was better to do it now and let it cool for later. While you were preparing the ingredients, you noticed Alhaitham dangling keys in his hand. The lion keychain caught your eye, and it was a dead giveaway.
“Kaveh forgot his keys again? That’s the third time this week. I swear he’ll end up camping outside if he doesn't learn to be aware of his surroundings. Just because he’s in the comfort of his home, doesn’t mean that he can be this forgetful! That guy.” You scoffed. Alhaitham chuckled at your irritation, lightly tossing the keys in his hands.
“You care for him that much?” He teased. You gave him a pointed look, bringing the measuring spoon to his face.
“I care about you two more than anything else. Now, get going. Tighnari should have the herbs prepared. Tell him thanks! And don’t fight with Cyno!” You kissed his cheeks before returning to the counter. He shook his head and replied ‘No promises’.

“Great, I ran out of the house without taking my keys and water. I’m not even sure if my money is enough to cover the list!” The poor blond was monologuing in the middle of the street, but people who recognized the man were already used to his antics.
Kaveh looked back at the list and noticed that the only expensive ingredient on the list was the dried Sakura petals that you often use when you make desserts out of nowhere. He smiled and proceeded to buy what was on the list.
Nothing wrong was going on until he stumbled upon Dori who was selling new items she procured from all-over Teyvat. Fur coats from Snezhnaya, cloth from Inazuma, research books from Fontaine, and even weapons forged in Natlan. He even found some architectural materials that would be useful for his project.
“Oh… this will suit (Y/N).” Kaveh muttered as he took the hairpin lying beside the research books. It resembled Alhaitham’s chiseled mirror at home but with his coloration— red, orange, and yellow. He was reminded of how often you go out of Sumeru to conduct research and that it would always take weeks before you came home. It made him lonely, but Alhaitham reminded him whenever he felt that way that (Y/N) missed them too considering you took his feather clip and the bracelet crafted by the Scribe with you wherever you go.
“Hey, how much for this?”

The forest rangers were whispering amongst themselves, surprised that the Scribe was walking towards the Forest Watcher’s office. It was often other Akademiya researchers that would rush and demand Tighnari but never anyone of the highest role. Not since Azar and other sages were ‘imprisoned’ in the Avidya Forest to repent for their wrongdoings. They wondered what was wrong for the Scribe himself to come down to the village.
“So what do I owe the Scribe for personally visiting a humble forest watcher like me?” Tighnari mocked, coming out of his office after hearing from Amir that Alhaitham came to visit. Behind him were Cyno and Collei, the latter worried for trouble that might have fallen upon them.
Alhaitham took out the list of herbs that you requested from Tighnari. When you visited earlier that morning, Tighnari was out and foraging with the others to prepare for New Year. You hoped that after lunch, he was already home and will be able to get the herbs you wanted to use for the last meal you were preparing.
Tighnari snatched the paper and recognized your handwriting. He gave the man a deadpan look.
“You really scared my forest rangers, and for what, errands?” He scoffed, tail swishing in mild amusement. Alhaitham coughed in his hands, turning his head to the side in embarrassment. Cyno walked towards Tighnari to peek at what he was looking.
“What did you do to (Y/N)?” He asked, confused why he was the one getting the herbs when it was usually you who do so. The Scribe did not really want to answer the General Mahamatra to add further to his embarrassment.
“She kicked us out for being lazy and burning the pudding.” Silence reigned over them, that a quack from a nearby raven could even be heard. Cyno immediately turned around to hide his laughter while Tighnari held his head in pain.
“I’d appreciate it if you don’t laugh at the misery of others, General Cyno.” Alhaitham sneered. Collei laughed nervously before grabbing the bag that contained your order.
Alhaitham thanked them before wishing them Happy New Year. Once he was gone, Tighnari let out a shaky laugh, truly finding your situation funny. Who burns their pudding!?
“Happy New Year to you too, (Y/N).”
You suddenly sneezed, shuddering at the feeling that somebody was talking about you. The last dessert you prepared was just finished and was now up for cooling. The cooler activated after you poured in the right amount of cryo energy to power it. This machine was not yet perfect since it still needed a few modifications for electricity alone to keep the temperature as it is. With how resilient researchers and inventors were in Sumeru and Fontaine, you were sure that by next year, it will be possible to implement electricity in Sumeru.
“All right. Let’s clean up. They should be— Oh no! I forgot the time!” Your loud voice echoed throughout the house that it worried you if your neighbors ever questioned why they continued to reside near you. However, right now was not the time as you grabbed the package on the counter and the keys beside it.
You ran up the flight of stairs to Akademiya up to the Sanctuary to see the person waiting for you. He scoffed at your stupid face, crossing his arms in irritation.
“Who do you think you are to keep me waiting, Mortal?” He taunted. You simply laughed and passed him his chazuke tea. You could see his eyes twinkling as he turned around and opened the Sanctuary.
“Lord Kusanali is waiting for you inside. Let’s go. And… thank you for this.” He muttered. You grinned.
The inside felt divine as usual. Although Lord Kusanali, who insisted you call her Nahida, was imprisoned here, she still treated the sanctuary as her safe haven. When you neared the dendro archon, she turned around and gave you a sweet smile.
“Greetings, (Y/N). Something must have occurred for you to be a little late.” She teased. You laughed sheepishly before giving the ajilenakh nuts you prepared earlier. Her eyes sparkled before taking it and thanking you.
Nahida stored the sweets in a place you were not sure where before discussing a few plans for next year. You have a few points here and there before recording it through your own Akasha terminal. It was not grand like that before, but it was enough to take note of things for rewriting. This, again, made the archon amazed.
The meeting dragged on for a few hours. The Wanderer would occasionally drop a few comments here and there which you two appreciated. There was finally an initial plan for the next year which involved the desert and foreign trade. During the discussion, you felt that you were forgetting something until the Wanderer came back annoyed.
“Hmm? What happened, Wanderer?” Nahida asked. He gritted his teeth in irritation before pointing out two idiots waiting outside. A blond and a silver head. It was then that you remembered what you forgot.
“Oh no, apologies, Lord Kusanali! I think I know why those two are here. I forgot to leave them a note that I’ll be leaving! I shouldn’t have rushed out of the house like that!” You agonized. Nahida giggled before telling you that you will continue the discussion in three days time. You thanked her before bowing to the two and wishing them a happy new year.
Outside, you were greeted with pinches to your cheeks. Uncharacteristically for Alhaitham, but expected from Kaveh. They both ranted about how you should not worry them, and to always let them know when, where, and how long you will be gone.
“After all, aren’t we your lovers?” Alhaitham stated as a matter of fact. You stopped and blushed heavily. It was the first time they worried like this and even bluntly stated your relationship. It felt… assuring that you did not even notice a tear trailing down your cheek.
Kaveh panicked and asked if their scolding was too much while Alhaitham was unsure what to do, and even opted to take his handkerchief and wipe your tears. You accepted the pampering and gave each of them a brief kiss on the lips.
“Thank you for being with me and accepting me for the mess that I am.” You uttered, clutching on to their arms.
When you got home, you fixed the table and ate dinner. You three waited until the fireworks started. It was the most beautiful thing they witnessed that night. However, the two led you to the garden where they each presented their gifts. Red tainted their cheeks, and you could not help but fell in love with them all over again. This was certainly the best start of the year.
"Happy New Year, you two! I love you!" You muttered, bringing them to a tight hug which they returned. Your most wanted wish for this year was already granted, but you will keep it to your heart.
'Thank you for loving me.'
