a/n: hi hello babes i'm back from my short break!! i just realized i've been kinda neglecting our maknae line so sorry for that... btw i tried to mix up the two prompts like you wanted me to, love!! sorry that it came out so simple and maybe a bit borning but i'm still overcoming my writer's block <33

The forest is quiet. The sweet chirping of a bird accompanies the shimmer of the thin stream running down to your right. The weather is as close to perfection as it can get – the sunshine pleasantly warms both of your faces but not strongly enough to make you hide underneath the roof of a cap. Riki smiles politely at the couple of elders that pass you by with energetic steps, engaged in a quiet conversation.

The forest is quiet for a very short while until you break it for the seventh time in the past five minutes. A loud whine echoes through the empty path as you slowly drag your feet on the ground, acting almost as if they weighted a tone. Riki's hand holds your tightly and practically drags your tired body behind him as he continues to walk up the small hill.

"I can't do it," you breathe out, mewling out the syllables for the dramatic effect. "If you don't stop walking right now, I'm seriously gonna die. I can feel it in my bones, Riki."

"It was literally your idea to go for a hike in the first place," he scoffs, turning over his shoulder to flick your sun-kissed nose. He giggles at the way it scrunches and you smack his hand away. "You don't get to complain now when you're the initiator of this plan."

You huff, a pout making its way on your lips slowly. "You're so mean. Good to know my boyfriend finds my misery amusing."

"C'mon, none of that now." He rolls his eyes, nodding his head to the paddled path ahead of you. "There's not that much left. Only ten minutes or so till we make it to the top."

A very predictable idea crosses your mind after his words and Riki sighs as he watches your eyes widening with a sparkle, already knowing you well enough to know what you're about to ask.

"No. No, no. Stop looking at me like that," he scowls, backing away from your slouched figure. You follow him immediately, stepping even closer as your hand traps his wrist in a grip. "You promised not to do that. I can't resist you, you know that. You're simply abusing your power now."

You roll your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest. "Oh, c'mon. What's even the point of having a big, strong boyfriend if he can't even carry me for couple minutes?"

Riki scoffs at your pathetic attempt of stroking his ego. Another giggle leaves his lips as you keep pouting at him, eyes shining with the silent plead. A grown ass woman pulling a tantrum like a goddamn toddler.

His eyes drop down to your slightly puckered lips. And, Lord, you just look so cute to him right now. Irresistible, really, just like he predicted after seeing the look on your face before. You always do that whenever you're determined to get whatever it is you want. You have him wrapped around your little finger and he doesn't think you even realize how much power you actually hold over him.

Not able to help himself, he leans in and closes the gap parting the two of you, kissing you right on the mouth. The heat instantly rises to the tips of your ears and you'd squirm away out of fluster if not for his hands firmly holding you to his chest. With a sigh, you lift your hands to cup his cheeks and just when you're about to deepen the kiss, he's pulling away from you, leaving you all flushed and already breathless.

"Hop on then, you baby," he sighs as he turns around, motioning for you to jump on his back. "This time and this one time only, I give you the permission to make use of this big, strong boyfriend of yours that you're so clearly obsessed with."

"I am not!"

"Lying like that is not suitable for a lady, you know?"

You smack him in the shoulder, the sound of his chuckles instantly bringing warmth to your belly. Finally satisfied now that your legs have stopped feeling as if they were being set ablaze with each every step of yours, you cling to Riki's neck and rest your cheek against his shoulder blade, sighing in content.

"Yeah, you're right. He's the best."

Hello I was just wondering if you've seen Imani Barbarin talk about not voting (https://x.com/imani_barbarin/status/1747723080917492020?s=46&t=55h0eHrgY7FtQI8ej54maw)? I saw you reblog the post about "not waiting for the morally pure candidate" and I think that's a willful misrepresentation of what Gen Z is feeling

We've not seen Biden address ANY of the things the post claims (climate change is the only one I remember without scrolling back) but we have seen him approve more oil licenses than trump, drop more bombs than trump, support a genocide, abandon disabled people and any Covid mitigations during the second highest surge since the start of the pandemic (with less testing so odds are things r even worse than we can tell), bring back student debt, etc etc

As a Gen Z'r, I genuinely want to understand how y'all can believe "no vote is a vote for fascism" when both candidates are horrendous? Why is the onus on us and not the politicians to do better instead of pointing fingers and saying "at least we're better than Trump" when that is categorically untrue?

I'm sorry if this is too rant-y I'm just so furious and frustrated with my perception of older voters' complacency with being given utter shit instead of organizing for better

I am trying very hard to be reasoned and understanding about this- bearing in mind that we want the same things in the end and I'mnot jazzed for Biden either -when it's extremely, EXTREMELY obvious to me that Trump is worse.

Like.

If he gets elected there might not be another election. The man was theoretically willing to use military force to quell protests if he lost the 2020 election (why he didn't, I don't know; but I'm not willing to give him that chance a second time).

Trump has called himself a dictator, proudly, in the same breath as saying "we're closing the border and we're drilling, drilling, drilling." Biden does NOT remotely have a perfect record on either of those things- he was locked into some construction of the border wall by how the funds had already been allocated by Congress during the Trump administration, but not everything he's done in relation to it, which also pisses me off. As for the oil thing, it's a bit more complicated than it seems on the surface: not as simple as "he doesn't actually care about the environment" even as it's definitely not a good move or in line with his stated climate goals.

As for those climate goals, I found this interesting article that rates key areas of climate action and how they've fared during the Biden administration. It was updated in January, and it is not sycophantically uncritical across the board. But that is LEAGUES more progress than we'd get under a system of "drilling, drilling, drilling" with absolutely no concessions to the climate crisis at all.

His handling of the situation in Palestine...yeah, I struggle with that, too. I know he's been trying to talk their leaders down, to some degree, but it's not nearly enough to me. And I STRONGLY disagree with us selling them weapons. However, Trump's statements on the matter- calling for a ban on Gazan refugees in the US, calling pro-Palestinian protestors "barbarians," and saying he'd revoke the student visa of anyone he deemed "anti-American" -makes me believe that letting him get into power is not something my conscience would allow, vis a vis the fate of the Palestinian people. Because it would be exponentially worse.

I also think the material good that has happened under the Biden administration has been...MASSIVELY under-publicized. Because like. He HAS addressed things. Lots of things, in fact.

this article from last year was too early to include pardoning thousands of people federally convicted of simple marijuana possession (again, not perfect, but still very good), setting new rules to limit methane emissions, capping prices for at least some major insulin producers, partial student loan debt forgiveness (tried to do more, but got hamstrung by Republicans), cancelling oil leases granted by Trump in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (not enough given the leases HE granted, but it's not nothing either), and much more I'm sure I'm overlooking. Because, again, nobody's been talking about it. It sells more news subscriptions to feed readers an endless stream of what Biden is doing wrong- which I am not denying! -leaving people with the dangerous impression that both sides are the same. Republicans would not have done any of this. That's just the truth of the matter.

Look, I would like a better option, too. I would love to actually LIKE a presidential candidate in my lifetime. I'd love one who wouldn't make concessions to the interests of selfish, heartless people with ledgers where their sense of human compassion should be. I just don't see that person coming to power between now and November.

And I'll take someone who is Standard US Politician Slimy but at least makes some improvements (unfortunately, I doubt there's anyone with a chance of winning in less than a year who doesn't support Israel to some degree, since this country have a long history of that) over someone who might actually stage a right-wing military coup, and who would kill me and other marginalized people himself if he thought it would get him more fame and fortune.

Some people say their conscience won't let them vote Biden. I can't tell them what to do. But if he gets the Democratic nomination, my conscience wouldn't let me do anything else.

I'm going to be brutally honest here, so if you choose to post this, please kindly have your followers/anons heed what I'm about to say before reacting. And to your followers/anons, please do not harass the mod with rants due to a stranger's opinion. She is not responsible for what I say. And I'm not going to apologize for my opinion either.

When I said people could stand to give CE/AB a little grace, it was simply a suggestion, not like I was telling anyone how to feel or be.

I also did not come here to books blog to waste her time or mine. I came here to share some insight with her/followers about what marketing and PR, in my experience, is about. And the fact is there is a sizable amount of manipulation being done to create and promote narratives as we see fit. That's part of the job, and even if internally I don't always feel great about selling a misleading image, it is what it is. It doesn't mean all of us are terrible people but you know, money talks.

I do not work in the entertainment industry. I work in a very expansive industry where what we do, the products and services we create, basically control the future of society. For example, artificial intelligence. So, I'll let y'all use your guessing caps to figure out what industry I'm in. But the PR/Marketing tactics in most industries have similarities. Strategy is crucial, planning, executing, and rebranding are all part of the job.

Anyways, I'll leave you all with a little final tidbit: Just continue to pay attention to context clues. Sometimes it may seem like random BS made up to stir up shit for no reason, but I've found in this particular situation (CE's marriage thing), there's been a lot of hints and clues along the way and I strongly believe the bigger picture is yet to be revealed.

WHILE IM TALKING ABT ROACH here’s my current HC meta:

-he hasn’t talked to his family since he was like, 19. Sorry happy family roach lovers he absolutely loathes them and they don’t like him either. He feels they were more concerned with appearances than actual substance and they didn’t treat him well

-he’s selectively mute, but also genuinely prefers to sign over speaking. He can speak at times, he just doesn’t like it and finds sign or writing is better. When he’s anxious he finds signing and writing more difficult to do and speaking impossible. It takes a lot of coaxing

-I feel like roach masks his issues with humor. I like silly roach a lot that’s him to me and I accept that fanon but I feel like he deflects with jokes and more erratic behavior. He really, really, really does not want to talk about something so he’ll play it off and then drag you to go do something silly. This guy does negative communication. Even if he has an issue with you it’ll wait until he like cannot not deal with it he really needs to be forced to do so

-great cook but hates cooking. Never had any good memories with it, doesn’t find it fun or anything but a hassle that makes a mess. If he does cook for someone it’s a lot of affection going into that though. Doesnt really cook for other people tho, he learned mostly for himself and most of his recipes are to specifically his taste.

-no idea how to dress. Like, 0 clue. Help this man. He likes fashion in that he’s like wow that looks nice to basically anything and everything. Doesn’t get how some things are hated so strongly.

-he had an older brother who he felt a kinship with. The two fought like cats and dogs but they were pretty close and shared a lot of the same interests. The older brother liked Roach but the two would fight and take petty revenge on each other a lot and he let roach make a lot o f the same mistakes he did. The two also kept up the jokes act when they were kids in public and ti was probably to draw attention away from awful parents. Anyways he died and roach does not want to talk about it at all.

-roach really did not like the military until he ended up in the 141. He stuck through it because he’s a stubborn bastard but he ran into a lot of difficulties before MacTavish was his cap.

-roach is the type who will put up thru pain n discomfort for an arbitrary goal any day of the week, casually and seriously. He is never out of hills to die on. Loves having strong opinions on things.

-despises people he deems inconsiderate. Is accidentally inconsiderate a lot. More on that, bc of his closest relationships in the past he assumes a lot of his boundaries are implicit and spin fact explicitly should not be discussed because they make him uncomfortable. It’s hard for him to take violations of those not personally and he has a short temper. He might go out of his way to upset you and then feel AWFUL about it. Or not depending on what you did. If he does understand it was a mistake he’d feel bad, he’s been in that situation a lot but it doesn’t occur to him other people may have difficulties understanding each other like he does. From his failure to pick up on social cues and the treatment of his mistakes as intention he’s got an unconscious bias to assume everyone else does everything intentionally always bc that’s what it seems. When he was a kid he’d break things a lot or frame his brother for something that would get him into trouble or even get into physical fights.

-lone survivor!roach would take things very not seriously. He’d treat the apocalypse as more of a game than anything, eating when he remembers to, taking massive risks to his life without much care. He’s kind of dissociated from himself and any sorts of risks or previous attachments. Would underestimate his need for socialization. Very skilled and very likely to die in some stupid way.

-141!apoco!roach is a lot more serious. He stretches himself thin as a mediating personality. If the group is experiencing social strain he’s working overtime trying to soothe nerves. He’s probably the least suspicious of new members if just because he feels like someone has to, even if he doesn’t like the new guy. Puts most of his survival in the hands of his team. Never really thought of his future of more than a couple days and isn’t going to start now. Not the best with abstract questions but keeps an eye on rations. Thinks group politics with other groups is stupid, advocating for just killing the asshole and moving on.

This got away from me a little bit, but it was fun to write.

A side adventure for my Little Assistant fic. Very Monty heavy. Like way more than I was expecting.

Making Amends

You x Monty (bonding)

It was one of those days when Elliot invited you as a tag-a-long for his maintenance duties. Only, this time he seemed to have an ulterior motive. He explained to your mom that he needed to help repair Montgomery Gator's room and that Monty seemed to be more behaved when there were kids around. Your mom was understandably concerned, but you assured her that you met Monty once before and he treated you fine.

“Sun, are you okay if I go help Elliot for a bit?” you asked him.

Sun sighed dramatically, placing a hand on his forehead in a very woe-is-me pose. “I suppose I'll survive. My little assistant abandoning me in my waning hours when I am most bereft and in need.”

“Cool, I knew you'd understand,” you said, giving him the thumbs up and turning to walk away. Sun made a squawk of surprise and you snickered, turning back and giving him a hug around his middle. “I'll spend a little extra time on your post-shift wipe-down to make it up to you. How does that sound?”

He rubbed your head through your uniform cap. “That sounds delightful. Have fun, Starshine.”

You went with Elliot to Rockstar Row, and you noticed immediately that Monty's curtains were drawn. Again. This was a regular occurrence you were noticing. You winced when you heard a large bang coming from inside the room.

Elliot rubbed his neck, sweating pinballs. “If anything happens, get behind me or leave the room as fast as you can, alright?”

“Okay,” you agreed.

Elliot led you to the door of Monty's green room. He knocked, then called out, “Monty, I'm coming in!” and then used his badge to open the door. This wasn't your first visit to Monty's room, nor was it the first time you'd caught Monty in the middle of 'blowing off steam' as he had called it. Even still, seeing a bulky animatronic gator standing in the middle of a scene of destruction was not the most comforting of sights.

As soon as the door opened, Monty's head jerked towards the two of you. “Howdy there, Monty,” Elliot greeted, using a very cordial tone that contradicted his earlier tension.

A low growl rumbled from Monty and though he was wearing shades, you saw his snout twitch lower so that his face was more directed at you peeking out from behind the handyman. “You brought a kid? Autograph sessions are over.”

“They're my friend's kid. They're just here to observe,” Elliot explained, keeping his tone measured.

Monty glared at you, his face leaning in an inch or two before suddenly drawing back. “Wait a second, I remember you.”

“I remember you too,” you answered, daring to step out from behind Elliot's figure. “Thanks again, by the way.”

Monty glanced away, rubbing the back of his neck. “I didn't do nuthin',” he mumbled.

Elliot breathed out a sigh of utter relief. “Alright, welp, I'm just gonna assess the damages. Don't mind me.”

He began wandering the green room, taking note of what was broken and needed to be replaced. Monty shot him a glare but made to move to stop him. It was clear though that the gator was barely tolerating the man's presence.

You edged up to Monty and he stiffened looking down at you. “You don't like people In your room, do you?”

Monty snorted, a hissing sound strongly reminiscent of the noises you'd hear in his gator golf attraction. “Would you enjoy people just letting themselves into your space uninvited?”

You shook your head, feeling guilty. “Sorry... and sorry again about the time before.”

Monty wordlessly turned and stomped over to the couch which was definitely gonna need replacing. The green upholstery had been shredded and the insides were littered around the place. Even so, Monty sat down on it and looked at you. “Well? Don't just stand there gawkin'. Have a seat.”

“Oh, okay,” you said and shuffled over to the couch, sitting down on one of the cushions that wasn't completely mangled. You noticed Elliot was keeping a close eye on you between his note-taking. “So, bad day?”

“What?” Monty asked, looking at you.

It was hard not to be intimidated by the teeth, but you did your best not to think about how sharp they might be. “Did you have a bad day?” you asked, gesturing to the room. “You obviously were blowing off some steam. You wanna talk about it?”

“No!” Monty barked.

“Okay, sorry,” you mumbled, picking at a wad of couch stuffing that was poking out right beside you.

An awkward silence followed for a few beats, only filled by the shuffling of Elliot's shoes as he tried to navigate through the debris. In that time, Monty's crossed his legs, uncrossed them, and then crossed them again. It was like he couldn't get comfortable. He let out another snorting hiss that made you jump a little.

“I was hosting a birthday party, and I brought out the cake. But then the parents start yelling at me that it was the wrong cake. Like it's my fault. I don't make the cakes I just deliver what's given to me, you know?”

You nodded emphatically, letting him know he had your full attention.

“So, this parent is screaming at me that I ruined the kid's birthday party, and the kid starts crying, and all the other kids start screaming because they want cake. And I'm trying to tell this woman to just let me go get a different cake and then one of the kids throws their soda and gets it all over me. Then in walks Mister Congeniality himself...”

“I'm sorry, who?” you asked.

“Who else? Freddy Fazbear.” His hands curled into fists as he says the name. “He just walks up to the parents and apologizes for the inconvenience and basically hijacks the entire party and tells me to leave so I can go clean up and relax. Can you believe that?”

“I mean, yeah, people totally suck sometimes,” you murmured. “Oh, sorry. I'm not supposed to use that word, right?”

Monty snorted. “I don't care. Do you know how many curses I hear in a single day?”

Okay, so he didn't have an anti-swear protocol like Sun and Moon. Neat. “But it sounds like Freddy was just trying to be helpful?”

“I never asked for his help. Him coming in there and taking over, it's like he thinks I can't handle a simple birthday party.”

“Do you like handling birthday parties?”

“What does THAT matter?” Monty asked you. “It don't matter if I like 'em or not, it's part of my job.” He rubbed at his shoulder. “'Sides... I don't mind entertaining kids. Kids are fine, and birthdays are important to 'em. It wasn't even my fault the party was ruined and I wasn't even given a chance to fix it.” Monty hunched forward, resting his elbows on his knees. Now that he was finished venting, he just seemed tired.

You waited for a few beats before asking, “You need a hug?”

Monty's head jerked to look at you. “What?”

“That sounds like something he would say.” Based on Monty's tone, he was not saying it as a compliment.

Immediately feeling defensive on Sun's behalf, you puffed yourself up. “Sunny is my best friend and I will fight you.”

Monty stared down at you for a beat and snorted, his hand patting your head, surprisingly gentle for his bulk. “You're alright, kid.” He at his shoulder again, glancing away. “I don't need a hug... but if you were wanting one, then... I guess I could humor you.”

You grinned and took him up on the offer, leaning over and hugging him around the torso. Unlike Sun and Moon, you could not get your hands full around him for how bulky he was. However, one of his hands patted your back and you swore you felt his body relax under your touch. You could faintly hear the hum of his inner workings, though it sounded different from the noises you were used to hearing from Sun and Moon.

“Hey, kiddo. Come along, I gotta go grab some equipment to start cleaning up this mess,” Elliot called out.

“I wanna stay with Monty,” you said, before glancing up at the gator. “Er, if that's okay with you?”

You couldn't fully tell, but you thought he looked a little surprised behind his shades. “Yeah, fine by me.”

“Okay.” Elliot looked a little apprehensive, however, glancing between the pair of you, he relented. “I'll be back in a jiffy.” Then he exited the room.

Once he was gone, Monty made a grumbling noise, like clearing his throat. “So, uh, kid... since I did you a favor, think you could do me one?”

You looked up at him. “I thought you said, and I quote 'I didn't do nuthin'.” You only waited for a beat to let that joke hang before saying, “I'm kidding. What do you need?”

“I feel like after what happened, Moon's been avoiding me. I think he's mad about... you know, and since you're so chummy with them, thought maybe you could put in a good word?”

“Why not give him a gift to show your sorry,” you suggested. “Like flowers. Used to, whenever my mom was upset, my dad would bring her flowers or something and they usually made up.”

“Where am I supposed to get flowers?” he asked you pointedly.

“Hmm, okay. Well, why not draw them? Sun and Moon love getting art.”

Monty scratched at his hair. “I... don't really know what flowers look like. Haven't really seen many of 'em around here.”

“I can help with that!” you answered brightly, now fully on board with helping Monty make a gift for Moon.

From your Bonnie backpack -which you took almost everywhere with you- you pulled out some paper and markers. You saw Monty eyeing your backpack and wondered if that was still a sore subject for him.

“Life with the band treating you okay?” you asked tentatively.

“Fine,” he muttered, but you sensed it was not 'fine'.

“I can't say I know what you're going through, but I know what it's like to be the new kid, and I know what it's like to be put somewhere you don't wanna be. It really sucks, and you hate it cuz like, you didn't choose this so why are you getting punished for it? But... sometimes... things end up working out, and then it's not so bad.” You noticed he was staring at you and you flushed, quickly shaking your head. “Sorry, I know I talk too much sometimes.”

“S'fine,” Monty murmured. He awkwardly picked up one of your markers between his claws. “So... um... what flowers should I draw?”

You spent the next hour helping Monty draw a variety of flowers, along with a short apology note. Elliot was in and out with another staff member, doing cleaning while you worked. At one point, when it was just you and Monty, you heard Sun's voice coming from your watch.

“Starshine, are you almost done?”

“Yeah, I'll be back soon,” you answered. Looking up at Monty, you said, “I can take this to Moon if you want.”

“I'll come with you,” Monty said, getting up from the couch. “I'd rather it be in person from me, ya know?”

“I get that.” You shoved your stuff back into your bag and shouldered it. “Are you allowed to leave Rockstar row?'

“Under certain conditions, like escorting a kid back to their parent.”

So, when Elliot came back, you let him know Monty would be taking you back to the daycare. He seemed rather enthused about this, maybe because it meant he and the other staff member could clean without worrying about getting in Monty's way. On the way, you made small talk, asking Monty about things he enjoyed doing in his free time. You learned he actually did enjoy mini golf and asked you if you've ever played at his golf course. You admitted you tried a couple times, but the sound effects were so scary and jarring that you had a hard time focusing on golfing, but the overall design was really neat. Monty then offered you should come golfing when he was hosting and he'd make it not so scary. It was a nice gesture, you felt.

When you arrived back at the daycare, Sun was there to welcome you with open arms. “Oh, I missed you,” he cooed, snuggling you in his arms.

You giggled. “I wasn't gone for that long.”

“It felt like an eternity,” he bemoaned. Shifting you to one arm, he raised the other in a friendly wave. “Hey there, Montgomery! Thank you for bringing our Starshine back to us.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Monty grumbled, clutching the handmade card in his hand. “I got something for ya to give to Moon.”

“Wait, you gotta read it,” you told him.

“Now?” Monty demanded.

“Yes! Moon will hear it, right?” you asked Sun.

“He sure will.”

Monty grumbled but opened the card carefully so as not to tear it. “To Moon, sorry 'bout what happened. Please take these flowers, and this joke: What do you...” He paused, groaning.

“Come on,” you urged gently.

He let out a low, hissing sigh, but he continued. “What do you call an alligator with a compass?”

“I don't know, Monty,” Moon said from your watch. “What?”

“A... navi-gator.”

Sun made a few snorting giggles before breaking down into full-on hysterics, clutching you tightly so that he didn't accidentally drop you. Monty, for his part, looked so thoroughly not amused. “What a delightful joke!” Sun walked over, plucking the card from Monty's hands. “This is definitely going up on the wall.”

“That ain't necessary,” Monty said gruffly.

“Oh, I insist!” Sun said cheerfully. “Consider all forgiven, Monty.”

“Agreed,” Moon said from the watch. “I'll swing by your room later tonight.”

Monty seemed a little relieved to hear this. “Great. I mean, fine. If you want. I don't care.” There was an awkward pause before he said, “I gotta go.” Then he turned and exited the daycare.

“He's such a nice fellow,” Sun commented.

“He is,” you agreed.

Your mom, who had been relaxing at her desk watching the whole thing, sighed. “I love working here.”

Lanyon headcanons! I'm sorry if some of these have already been said; I haven't looked through everyone else's.

(Quick sidenote: lots of people have said that Jekyll is autistic, which I could see, but I definitely see him more as having OCD instead. For lots of reasons, but mainly because I relate to him way too much, and the whole moral scrupulosity part of OCD. If you don't know what it is, please look it up. It's him. Spot on.) (Also !! There's a lot of stigma and misunderstanding and belittling of OCD. So it would be good to look into that too because lots of people definitely just don't understand it and can say harmful things!)

Anyway !! Back to my guy Lanyon <3 He is quite possibly my favorite character, like, ever, and he deserves more love

- He's not good at keeping secrets. At all. Of course, he barely knows the lodgers, and definitely doesn't trust them, so he's less likely to tell them anything. But with people he's close to (especially Rachel, since they would gossip in Jekyll's kitchen) he will tell them everything he knows. If someone tells him something and says not to tell anyone, he will immediately tell someone. Probably Rachel.

- He DOES NOT like werewolves. We've kind of seen that with Jasper, but that is also probably just him not trusting anyone until he really knows them and feels comfortable around them. I haven't read bleeding heart, but I've heard that some people definitely see Morcant as predatory (Jekyll's 19 I think and I don't think it says how old she is? Don't judge me if I'm wrong). So I feel like he doesn't just hate Morcant because she was with Jekyll, but because she was creepy and predatory. So now he won't ever trust or even like a werewolf (also because they're wolves. Big, hairy, dirty. Not his thing)

- He has religious trauma <3 No this is not me projecting (a lie). Sabrina has said that Lanyon's atheist (and Jekyll's agnostic). And Victorian England was VERY Christian. And the comic shows Jekyll going to church, which implies that Lanyon does too. So like, not only does he have religious trauma, he also has to continue reliving it every week. I feel like he specifically got it from his mom, her forcing him to be a "good Christian man," and, whether or not she knew he's gay, scolding him, saying he's going to hell, making him "pray for his immortal soul," and the likes.

- He's a Capricorn. He's definitely a winter baby, and Capricorns are December - January. He's practical, he keeps a small circle of friends that he is very loyal to, he seems cold and detached, but he's actually very sensitive! He feels emotions very strongly, but he does not want to show "weakness." He's also stubborn and can hold grudges for a long time. And Caps can get a lot of hate, like him unfortunately :(

- He mostly doesn't like animals (again, dirty and gross), but if he had to choose an animal he would pick a snake. I'm thinking some kind of viper? Probably bush vipers. They look cool asf, and he likes their large fangs and dangerous venom. He likes that snakes don't have fur, hair, or feathers. He'd be too scared to hold a snake, but he thinks they're pretty cool.

- His dad knows he's gay. He probably wouldn't just come out, so he was outed. Maybe when he was 16 or 17? Not in public or anything, just to his father. His father knows there's nothing he can do to change it, and that if Robert wants to do something (men) he's gonna do it, whether or not he tells him not to. So he basically told him that he can do whatever he wants, as long as no one finds out. Especially with how hard he's worked, his father would do anything to keep the family name respectable. And he really does care about his son.

- His mom Does Not know he's gay. She would basically disown him if she found out. So he and his father keep it a secret (this is one of the few secrets he can actually keep). Even as he gets older, they still make sure she doesn't find out. He kind of always knew he was gay, or at least that he was different. He was ashamed of it for a while, but when he was about 14 or 15, he became friends with a bi/pan girl (Who was also aspec. Because I said so) who was just so openly proud of her sexuality (as openly as you could be in Victorian England). She just was so happy about being queer, which influenced him to also be happy about it! He probably took a while to get all the way there, but even just like acknowledging it and being okay with it was so huge to him.

- He likes to sit on the piano bench next to Everly while she plays piano !! (They're not the gay/lesbian solidarity we deserved, but the gay/lesbian solidarity we needed.) It's very nice for him, to just relax and focus on the music. He does like music, he just hated being forced to learn the violin. So it's really good for him to de-stress (heaven knows our boy needs it) and just be more of himself-- not faking smiles or having perfect posture-- because he trusts his wife. In general, he's comfortable enough around her to laugh, smile, not be a "perfect gentleman."

- Speaking of his wife !! (except she's my wife actually because I said so). She gets overwhelmed by being around lots of people, and obviously Lanyon knows this. So when he sees her start to get anxious, as he's known her long enough to see the warning signs, he goes to her, links her arm with his, pardons them, and takes her to an isolated room. Whenever she goes to an event with him, he makes sure he knows the venue/house at least a little bit, to know where he can take her. He sits with her, holding and rubbing her hands, until she calms down. If it's bad enough, he'll leave the event, no matter how important it is, to get her out of there. Because even though it's not in a romantic way, he loves his wife <3

- He'd never admit it, but he sings. No matter how much he denies it, Everly sometimes hears him humming or singing softly to himself while he's getting ready, etc. He usually sings Scottish lullabies (that he knows from Jekyll from university) or songs Everly wrote. She thinks his singing is really cute, and it makes her so happy when he sings her songs. She used to be too nervous to play piano around him, but after so many years she got comfortable enough to do it. And when he shows that he likes her writing in ways like this, it makes her more confident in herself.

- He likes to press flowers! It's very calming and therapeutic for him, and he can take his time with it. He likes using different meanings with flowers (the Victorian flower language). He loves the beautiful payoff it gives after weeks of pressing. It's something he doesn't really tell people about, because he knows they will think it's too 'feminine' for a man. But even though he's a bit insecure about it, he still lets himself do it, because it makes him happy!

Hey and thanks for the ask! Sorry it took me so long, I thought I posted this but I saw this in my drafts.

I'll try to make this short and sweet cuz there's so much I love about byler and I don't wanna go off, but the main thing I love about them is how amazing their connection is. Their love is real and the story they share is beautifully heartbreaking in all the right ways.

I've been on Mike's side, then later Will's side, and got my heart shattered twice, so to see them go through the same shit together while simultaneously shooting and reciprocating hints to eachother automatically pulled me in and kept me stuck. You can feel how strongly they feel for one another and you get to see how unconditional and consistent their love is, like in one of favorite scenes, the Rink-O-Mania scene, where even though Mike's doing his super straight boyfriend thing and being slightly pissy, he doesn't miss a beat on jumping up beside Will, coming to his aid when he sees Will troubled,

He doesn't even think about it, it was instinctual for him. What capped off that scene for me was the argument of course cuz that was the most sus argument to have after you're girlfriend just got humiliated in front of a bunch of her peers. Btw, every time I watch the part of the dinner scene when he goes "She didn't look fine" I choke 😭 he did not have to do her like that.

Anyway, my other favorite scene is very much the Cool scene. It was a clear what they were doing with that, and it works perfectly. I didn't see Mike be that gentle with Will in a while and it was even better to see how quick they were to flirt, as if nothing else was going on.

The intensity of Mike looking Will directly in the eyes as he said "Cool" in that way was insane. Like, there was know way he didn't know what he was doing, and Will picked up on it too. That's why I think, (and hope) Mike is the one to confess first. Will's really playing it like that ship has sailed so I'm thinking Mike catches on somehow and finds a way to subtly tell him, and since we already know they don't need words to fully understand eachother it might be a slow scene almost like Jopper's but most likely more intense.

All in all I'm really here to see my boy win. Will deserves the world and Mike is more than ready to give it to him. I honestly can't see it any other way.

I'm currently working on the Zelda art right now but I'd love to know some info about them! The idea that they'd have to disguise themselves as regular townsfolk adventurers is such a cool idea and I'd love to see how they play off of each other

Sorry this took so long to write, this is what I’ve got so far!!

Sun (20)

• Very sweet and kind but has a lot of pent up rage from y’know. All the goddess stuff. Think Shinobu from demon slayer, but milder.

• I don’t think she planned for Hyrule to become a monarchy, and seeing how much her vision for a land below the clouds has….changed over the millennia definitely upsets her.

• Actually knows how cook and sew, and is very valuable in terms of keeping the group alive.

• Doesn’t do well with large crowds or strangers, used to the tight-knit community of Skyloft.

• Will not stop talking about her boyfriend Link. Ever.

Disguise: 7/10 she can pass as an adventurer, but as a knight she sticks out a bit. Mostly stays under the radar.

Dot (19)

• I need to reread the four swords manga, but this girl takes no shit. She is the queen of passive aggression.

• As someone who is 5’3 and is going to be 5’3 for the rest of their life, I feel her pain. Strangers mistake her for being younger, people don’t take her as seriously as her companions, and she can be easily overpowered in a fight. This can range from being mildly annoying to setting off the primal short people instinct to go for the knees.

• I don’t know where to place this on the timeline?? Is she minish cap Zelda as well or just four swords adventures Zelda???? I haven’t decided yet.

• Either way her and Link are besties. Absolute partners in crime. Maybe something more in the future but I’ve never though too much about fsa ships.

Disguise: 3/10 it’s just her princess outfit cut short with pants. People can tell she comes from money, but the way it’s presented comes off as odd to most people.

Lullaby (14)

• I sense a gender crisis on the horizon. They haven’t quite realized it yet, but a cis this Zelda ain’t.

• Is aware that either Link or them sent him back in time to prevent the future from happening. He did not tell them and they haven’t seen him since he left Hyrule a few years ago, but they came to that conclusion anyways. This might haunt them a bit.

• Impulsive and a bit too sure of themself; this is the same kid who thought they could outsmart and defeat Ganondorf’s plans at like. 10.

• Is determined to make this inter-dimensional trip an adventure, no matter how life threatening. They don’t know if they even want to go home.

Disguise: 6/10 not bad but the vibrant pink definitely stand out

Dusk (23)

• Sword Lesbian Sword Lesbian Sword Lesbian Sword Lesbian.

• Appears stoic and regal, in reality is barely holding on. This women would love coffee.

• Is incredibly prone to self sacrifice, would die for her companions after knowing them for 2 days.

• Unrelated but I will never get over how she and Link barely knew each other and didn’t get the the chance to know each other. Not in a ship kind of way but like how two people so strongly connected by fate just brushed past each other and went on with their lives.

• Definitely had a thing for Midna. If she stayed Her and Link might have fought over her.

Disguise: 9/10 have you seen how big her cloak is??

Tetra (16)

• The Street Smarts of the gang. Seriously, they would be dead without her.

• She does all the haggling and she’s very good at it. Her intimidation tactics are top notch.

• Knows more cuss words than everyone else, is very happy to share them.

• Has a crush on Link but they are both in HEAVY denial about it.

• Honestly could be in charge if the others didn’t see her as a child.

Disguise: 9/10 it’s just her regular clothes but they’re a tad too beachy for most of Hyrule’s weather .

Phantom (16)

• Her amour was custom made after her adventure, when she was feeling a bit nostalgic for her phantom form (big and tall and could crush enemies with a single strike).

• Link teaches her sword combat. They are inseparable.

• Confident and self assured; she’s done this before

• A bit of hero worship towards Tetra, she tries hard not to spoil what her future holds for her.

• Still afraid of rats.

Disguise: 1/10 she looks so goddamn weird but she refuses to take the horns off.

Fable (19)

• Yes we are incorporating the Fable is Legend’s brother headcanon I just think it’s neat.

• Getting kidnapped by Ganon three times has to mess a person up. She’s paranoid and convinced he’ll return within her lifetime, but represses it with a facade of calmness and over confidence.

• Takes self defense lessons so she feels more prepared.

• I think she’s secretly rather lonely, more so than a lot of other Zeldas.

• Cuts her own bangs.

Disguise: 5/10 the same as Dots but a bit better. She has so much rich girl energy though.

Dawn (17)

• Remember how after the adventure of link, there’s two princesses? Succession crisis.

• Aurora quickly gains popularity with the court and people and uses this to start a coup against Dawn. She escapes into the woods and is sucked into a portal before anyone can catch her.

• She’s always been a bit quiet and timid, but it’s made worse by this

• absolutely shocked at the amount of wealth and life other Hyrules have. Maybe a bit jealous.

Disguise: 4/10 it’s her princess gown repurposed into a shirt and pants, but it still looks ridiculous. Too bad they’re all broke (what kind of princess carries money with them??).

Artemis (34)

• I don’t know who this woman was married to but there was a divorce.

• The best at combat, has killed many people before.

Ability

Threading the needle?! A super sharp line shot!

A mass of volleyball instinct, he’s the only first-year who was selected to play as a starter for Shiratorizawa. In particular, using line-shot spikes as his greatest weapon, the control he has to draw out the slightest gap in the opponents’ block is almost a superhuman feat. He is confident in his serve and has the aptitude to fire off service ace after service ace. But on the other hand, his receive technique is still sloppy, and will be one of his future undertakings, along with mental control.

A level of pride able to compete with Ushiwaka!

Goshiki is strongly self-confident and doesn’t hide his rivalry with Ushijima. He can easily get carried away or flattered, and is quick to make his feelings known.

Ushijima Wakatoshi: the ideal ace whom he wants to surpass one day

The best example—a wall he must overcome. And after Ushijima personally entrusted the team and the title of Shiratorizawa’s next ace to him, many tears of gratitude were shed.

Memorable Scenes Timeline

2012: Though he’s only a first-year, even Ushiwaka acknowledges him as a regular!

Final set of the match against Karasuno. Goshiki fumbled a serve receive at the eleventh hour, but his downward-spiraling feelings were immediately replaced after Ushijima’s straightforward encouragement. He then scores a succession of points by shooting sharp spikes, serving short when least expected, and deciding to pull feints at opportune moments. With a calm composure that you wouldn’t have expected from a first-year, Karasuno suffered until the very end.

2018: The V.League arc.

Currently active as a V.League player. He’s now a member of the same team as Kiryuu, who was said to be one of the best spikers in Japan while he was in high school. Goshiki continues playing volleyball with the goal of taking down Ushijima, as it always has been.
