I really hoped that I'll finally have real Christmas this year. In my country it is on Jan 7th instead of Dec 25th, and also I've never quite... vibed with it? It is different, and very underwhelming. I've first felt the spirit of Christmas exactly in foreign internets, like... That whole bright, kind, fun thing about sharing and happiness and appreciating what you've got and good will. I've been writing very heartfelt posts in Christmas spirit for years, and drawing art for the occasion. It just always surprised me how much a holiday could've been inspiring even despite me not even being affiliated with the religion.
But I really always wanted someone to celebrate it with. Like... to actually have a real person with me in the same house, to decorate together and to cook meals together and share the celebration. Additionally, with Halloween too, because it is definitely not a thing in my country - another holiday I am "celebrating online". When he crawled back to me, spilling his bad deluded lies about how he could not live without me and how badly he wanted to share everything there was in life with me, it felt so... apparent that we could meet this Christmas together, and maybe go trick-or-treating together. I just really want to dial back to enjoying imitations of holidays like I always have for many years, and forget those foolish hopes. The one time in my life I had not only hope for the better, but a faith that things would certainly get better, the bastard just took all his words and feelings back in like, two weeks. Because he "was not thinking straight in his despair" and "made a wrong decision". And could tell that sharing life with me was "a bad idea".
I should just never let my 'hope' become 'faith'. In a way, I am used to having my hopes crashed, it is just the story of my whole life, really. But crashed faith is something that can't be recovered.

AI and Tumblr
In the event of any kind of AI Art API is to be trained on this platform I do not give permission for my art to be sampled or used to train AI without financial compensation, artists hold the copyright to our art and any intentional mimicry or sampling of my art by an artificial intelligence is infringing on an artist's rights to their creations.
We as artists will not take this grim proposal between Tumblr and Midjourney laying down, this was the last safe heaven for a lot of us and you are now holding knives to us entirely to solve your financial woes instead of offering meaningful solutions. You are going to bleed your community of all trust and all revenue you still eek out of us. Your ways have changed from one of a community built around passion for fandom and the creative mind to one of greed and exclusion. You have been showing true colors and they are ugly, they are sickening, and they will kill your platform. If this deal goes through, may your platform die slow and painfully, may you watch your most loyal of whales walk away and leave you drying out in the hot pavement that is bankruptcy.

I do feel like it’s a little weird that this fandom is so willing to woobify certain male characters and ignore their canon very shitty actions but will hate on Aphmau as a character for being… the main character… as if that’s not the entire point.
Like this isn’t sparked by anything specific recently, just me thinking about how weird fandoms can be sometimes. And I’m not pointing fingers at any particular person. But I see more hate for characters like Aphmau than I do for characters who have either explicitly, or implicitly, done awful things. Just because she’s kind of op and sometimes annoying.
I’m not naming specific characters bc I frankly don’t care whether or not you like them. It’s neither here nor there, I know I’m one to talk with being an Aaron fan and all… but like… this is a frequent enough issue that you can name any male character’s genuine flaws that people defend them for, and compare them to the kinda stuff Aphmau gets criticism for… and hers is far more easily justified.
I get that it’s the block show and you can do whatever you want, but I just think it’s a little unfair that canonly-implied sex offenders get to be goobers but Aphmau is designated to the mud pit of hatred no matter what she does.

Ty for this blog!!!! I'm so excited about it and so happy someone made it :). I can't wait to see where it goes! I have a poll idea that I've been thinking about for a long time but there wasn't a good place to send it until I found you!
For aromantic allosexuals: Do you get frustrated by being lumped in with asexuals, having your sexuality ignored, or the phrase "aces and aroaces"?
I see this a lot; I'm frustrated
I see this a lot; I'm neutral
I see this a lot; I like it
I don't see this a lot; but that would be frustrating
I don't see this a lot; and I don't care either way
I don't see this a lot; but I would like that
Complicated feelings on the matter
Not aroallo / see results

I feel like I get more and more pissed off anytime I watch q!Bad make a move. So here’s the rant after seeing the clip and following with what @/daisyychainssj said about Leo’s Ninho room:
Why on god’s green earth would he allow Bagi into Leo’s room and allow her to grab the warp into the room.
Yeah maybe it was to do with the size of the room but maybe they could have you know waited and asked to check Richas’ room or waited until her parent or Leo was online.
He also knows full well that there is hollow walls inside the Ninho that could be turned into unofficial/temporary rooms for those eggs and that Leo’s room doesn’t have to be touched at all.
But also since he remembers enough about the Ninho and how it works with his memory loss then he goddamn knows the significance of those rooms and he just broke the main fucking rule.
Which is that the ninho rooms are SAFE SPACES FOR THE EGG THAT OWNS THE ROOM, that ONLY the egg, their parents and TRUSTED individuals can reach.
Do Leo and Bagi know each other?? Hmm that’s looking like a solid no. How well does Leo know the new eggs? Wait they don’t know and neither does Leo because they just recently met. Do they forget Leo is shy and not always social? yes she trust the eggs she knows but how often does she get online for anyone but her family?? Looking like about 5% which is usually because Foolish or Roier have outside factors stopping them from taking care of her.
Also he’s not her parent, he doesn’t get to make decisions for Leo just because he took care of her like 2 or 3 times and he knows her parent. That’s stupid and demeans Foolish’s parenting.
In conclusion, Bad should have never stepped foot in Leo’s room with Bagi today. It makes no sense lore wise or even just him showing her. Despite his “respect” for all the eggs, he really needs to check himself first before he does anything. Because any time he’s messed with an eggs stuff it’s always been Leo and sorry but Leo isn’t Foolish. That dynamic should be keep completely separate and to say this isn’t disrespect is a lie because it is.
This isn’t even like bad roleplay anymore it’s just disrespect because how in lore will any of them know about it unless bagi uses it in front of them.

I try not to post too much TWN negativity on this blog, because I know plenty of people enjoy the show just fine, and I hate being an asshole and raining on other people’s parades. But, god, the way that the show treats Yennefer - or rather, mistreats her - just upsets me and pisses me off so much.
The book already puts her through the wringer - too much at times, honestly - but the show just takes it to a whole new level. The amount of suffering they put her through that wasn’t present in the books is so frustrating to me. Like adding in random torture scenes that weren’t present (the hysterectomy scene, being tortured by Stregebor), losing her magic powers, constantly being captured in S2, not even having a particularly good court standing - like in S1 when Fringilla mocks her for not helping advance Aedirn at all, and Yennefer doesn’t even have a good comeback to that. It’s as if the show is just obsessed with giving her constant Ls and never really letting her come out on top. Sidenote: I am fine with angst, in fact I enjoy it, and I am fine with a character going through hardships and suffering. You can do a lot of great character, story and theme exploration with angst, and sometimes it’s necessary for a character to suffer to develop that. If I wasn’t fine with angst, I wouldn’t be a fan of the witcher lmao. But when I see a character who already goes through a shit ton of misery in the books get forced into even more suffering in the show that never happened....I start to have a problem.
And then, of course, S2 committed the cardinal sin with that stupid ass Voleth Meir plotline. As if torturing her, having her be captured, making her lose her powers, wasn’t bad enough - they completely character assassinate her by making her almost sacrifice Ciri to a fucking demon. Something that is so bewilderingly OOC for Yennefer, something that never EVER happened in the books. When the show got bored with creating narrative suffering for her, they decided to take it to a meta level by character assassinating her in a really bizarre, stupid way. Because, why was this necessary? I know that they were concerned about the fact Yennefer doesn’t really show up much in Blood of Elves, I understand they wanted to create a plot line for her that got her more involved in the main plot. But - why this???!!! There were 101 different plot lines they could have given her that didn’t involve her trying to sacrifice Ciri to a fucking demon, in the process completely messing up her relationship with Geralt and Ciri!!
And this is the main reason I’m making this post - her relationship with Geralt and Ciri being messed up. I’ve seen a lot of articles recently about S3, all stating that Yennefer essentially has to grovel to Geralt, that he ignores her for potentially a full year, that at the beginning he doesn’t even let her enter the same abode as them - what the fuck!!! It upsets me so much. Because this was the biggest problem with the VM plotline - it completely upends Geralt and Yennefer’s dynamic. In the books, their relationship is way more equal - in fact, it honestly would be accurate to say that Yennefer is the more dominant one in the relationship, not Geralt. The show is now completely turning that on its head, and making Geralt the dominant one - but not personality wise, more in a moral highground type way. Because now, whatever stupid shit Geralt does, or has done in the past - e.g. tell Yennefer she’d be a terrible mother, which he never apologises for - none of that matters!! Because it will never be as bad as Yennefer trying to kill Ciri. Instead of a relationship where they both fuck up and both make mistakes, like in the books, in the show the emphasis will all be on Yennefer. Yennefer is the one fucking up, Yennefer is the one making absurdly stupid mistakes, Yennefer is the one who needs to apologise and grovel and beg for forgiveness.
And this is what I mean by, the show is obsessed with giving her Ls. Not only do they make her suffer, they character assassinate her by forcing her character to do this cartoonishly evil thing, and then punish her for it!! They don’t just take away her powers, her court standing, they even strip her of her own relationships!!! And I ask again - why is this necessary?? Who decided that punishing her like this would be an extremely important plot line, an improvement, over the original source material? Like back when the show was first announced, I sure as shit wasn’t thinking “oh wow a netflix witcher show - I sure do hope they have a plot thread where Geralt refuses to talk to Yennefer, and doesn’t even let her into the same fucking house as him, because she tried to kill Ciri!!” who wanted this??? Who thought this was a good idea??? Honestly, it makes me feel as if someone on the writing team hates Yennefer and wants her to suffer, both in a narrative and meta level. And no, I’m not talking about that infamous Beau deMayo interview - something that caused a huge amount of online drama and should be taken with a big old pinch of salt, especially since the writer who made this claim was responsible for some pretty questionable decisions, namely the whole Treeskel thing. I’m not making a direct accusation here - it’s more a feeling. When I look at TWN, I cannot help but sense a level of contempt and spite towards the character of Yennefer. That doesn’t necessarily mean someone in the writing team genuinely has it out for her, but if that’s the impression that I get from the way they treat her in the show, then something has gone very wrong with the narrative decisions they made for her.
And this is why, not only can I not let myself be excited for S3, it’s why I’m genuinely feeling dread about it. Every time I read interviews about how Geralt and Yennefer have this really rocky start and he’s ignoring her or whatever, my stomach just sinks. And again - why was this decision made? Who thought this was a good idea? And yeah, the TWN team have already said they’re trying to fix the problem with their relationship caused in S2, but a) the way they are going about fixing it only serves to punish Yennefer’s character more and b) it should not have been something to fix in the first place. It’s also why I can’t bring myself to believe that S3 will suddenly be more faithful and better than S2, esp in regards to Yennefer (aside from the fact they’ve made this promise before and failed to deliver). Because the early plot points of a story are extremely important in setting the foundation of your later plot, especially in a series like the witcher. If your foundation is inherently flawed, it doesn’t matter how good your later seasons are; they are built on a faulty base, and will therefore lack a good structure. Case in point with Yennefer. Without going too much into book spoilers, let’s just say she has a really rough time of it post-Time of Contempt in the books. So in the show, either a) they will just put her through even more suffering and leave you thinking “wow did this entire show exist just to punish Yennefer?” or b) they will have to deviate away from the books. Neither of these options are particularly good. (this also is one of my problems with S2 as a whole - they were so desperate to put in all this insane blockbuster action and dramatic plot points, but sometimes in stories you need moments of calm to make later dramatic plot points more hard hitting. In the books, Blood of Elves was the moment of calm before Time of Contempt’s batshit, action packed drama. In the show, you never get that moment of calm. Why should I care about whatever happens in Thanedd if S2 had Ciri get possessed by a fucking demon and go on a killing spree? But anyway.)
And I think the reason why I’m particularly disappointed with the way that the show has treated Yennefer’s character so badly (aside from the numerous promises of “we’re a faithful book adaptation” being complete lies) is that Yennefer is a character who already receives a lot of unfair hate. Obviously there’s the annoying “Team Yen vs Team Triss” thing from the games, but even within the show there were a certain type of fans of a certain ship who hated a lot on Yennefer for daring to get in the way of their ship. Like, I’m so sick of seeing Yennefer getting hate for stupid, unfair reasons - and now even the show is treating her like shit??? Like, give me a break!!
I’m just tired of it. And obviously, if you like TWN and you’re excited for S3, that’s fine. In fact, I’m honestly jealous, I wish I could feel the same. And who knows, maybe the show will improve its treatment of Yennefer, maybe they’ll finally give her some Ws. But that’s what I thought about S2, and was proven VERY wrong. Any confidence, trust or optimism I had left for the show was completely destroyed by the Voleth Meir plotline in S2, and the show will have to work very hard to rebuild that trust for me. And unfortunately, everything I’ve heard about S3 so far is only confirming that they’ll continue to treat her poorly.

I see a lot of people not liking the way Shadow is portrayed in the Twitter Takeovers and while I do also have issues with some of the stuff they've done with him I feel like people are placing their discontent in other places than me.
Like... it literally does not impact Shadow's personality if he likes eating coffee beans or smells like lavender or has a routine for making his bed. All those small quirks of his day-to-day life literally would not affect how he acts in the games even if the Takeovers were canon. People can be serious in some situations and have goofy seeming interests in others.
Meanwhile I more take issue with the way his dialog is written to make him more rambly than he is in the games (Oddly in the recent Takeover Knuckles specifically commented on the fact that Shadow only talks when he needs to, contrasting with some of Shadow's very meticulous answers in the takeovers) as well as making him more aggressive toward the other characters, specifically Sonic.
The last point kinda goes the other way too. In the recent Takeover, someone asked everyone to give their opinions on Shadow, and Sonic straight up calls him edgy and has to admit that he respects him.
Firstly... Shadow is only really edgy in the perspective of him as a character who goes against the norms of the children's games he's a part of. "Edgy" when referring real people (as would apply to Sonic talking about Shadow) implies a sort of "try hard" personality that Shadow just doesn't have. Shadow is cool and doesn't fake it. Infinite is edgy; Shadow isn't. Worse yet, Shadow has not done anything that Sonic hasn't also already done, (besides use guns that one time). So, is Sonic calling him edgy for being black with red highlights? That's rude.
Second, I think the part where Sonic was reluctant to say he respects Shadow is even worse to be honest. Not only would game Sonic not have a hard time saying he respects Shadow, he'd also consider him a friend. They butt heads and bicker sometimes but there's no bad blood between them; They're just super competitive people who enjoy having someone around that can evenly match their skills. I don't even think Shadow would pause to think about if he respects Sonic or not. They're very similar in a lot of ways and politeness is one of them. Neither would genuinely struggle to point out the strengths eachother has.
I like the Twitter Takeovers for their goofy moments and little peeks into what the daily lives of these characters could be like, but I do genuinely worry that people will let the sitcom-esque portrayals of the cast influence how they perceive their game counterparts. People already confuse Sonic X, Prime, and the IDW comics as being canon to the games, since they're not as visually non-canon as the movies and Boom as well as taking more inspiration from the games, so I wouldn't be surprised. It also doesn't help that the Takeovers do throw in some stuff that genuinely seems to be trying to explain game canon the way that the TailsTube videos have.
Anyway, Shadow's favorite flowers are lantanas and I think that's neat. Sucks that the Twitter Takeover writers think he and Sonic have a hard time standing each other, though.

^ The "based blue anon" from July is back!!!!!! :D I shared with him what a terrible mess BB fandom has been for past two years, minus a few recent months where things started to slowly improve and I hope it continues, and I am surprised how well he gets it holy shit. "They reject reality, substitute for their reality, and reject you if you reject their reality" and "they use a proposal to agree to disagree not to stop arguing but to devalue your arguements even if yours have real substance and theirs don't" is absolutely the description of Gehrman haters. To some extent fans that don't know masculine and/or battle-capable bi women exist, apparently.
It really is just about control, and always has been- And yes, I wasn't realizing how twisted the term "fanon" was. I am discouraged from fumbling with semantics too hard because it is exactly what those control freaks do to silence those that think for themselves, but sone words MATTER. I am totally going to stop using it and opt out for words that expose how individual and unnecessary to agree with ideas by fans are. "Fanon" implies there is an interpretation fandom (or rather, "community uwu") agreed with and you are bad for not complying. They might not SAY it and even pretend that they do respect different interpretations, but in secret they resent you and trash talk you in Discord servers.

this is why i appreciate when people actually tag things properly because this post has NOTHING to do with fitmc, someone who makes me uncomfortable, but because most people don't actually tag posts about him, i have to do this and just judge by who is posting whether or not the post is okay.

Rant incoming because an acquaintance of mine got anon hate.
You guys have GOT to stop thinking groups are a monolith because person that's part of said group did something terrible. If you're going through every Zelda blog that has "Christian" in the title and demanding they get involved in drama that has nothing to do with them, congrats, you are an asshole.
And when they tell you "I don't want to get involved with this" and "I'm just trying to be respectful of everyone I interact with," you don't get to act like you're entitled to an apology because you're upset they're not up-in-arms like you are.
You're parasocial, you're rude, and you need to leave.

see as much as i dont think tubbo is inherently fail rping or whatever whenever he uses minecraft mechanics to his benefit because other ccs Also Do That cc!tubbo does definitely just not care that much about rp in comparison to just playing minecraft and sometimes will prioritize just like. being funny to chat (which often means being a bit of a dick) over like. properly rping and yes and-ing what the others are trying to set down for him to play along with 😭 and im sure if the others actually minded that he did this theyd talk to him about it but a good chunk of his current rp style rn is less ohhhh angsty lore ohhhhh hes so sad and more tubbo just has issues and prioritizes the Bit over like everything else
which isnt to say it isnt cool that we can still extrapolate on what he says and does and make lore about it but also tubblings it may be time to accept that we are nawwtttt gonna get serious qtubbo lore where he gets better and starts communicating and learning how to like value himself and not be casually suicidal all the time bc cctubbo is just actually like a little self deprecating loser white boy who cares more about being funny and is into suicide jokes rn 😭😭😭😭

I'm worried that that the fandom here will start treating empanada the same way they treat bad, as in she can't do anything wrong. And same for sunny it seem.
This always is a valid concern especially when new eggs/islanders arrive. I think because there are a lot of pre established things like the NINHO or the eggs belongings, that the eggs can’t inform to the new eggs/egg parents, it has caused a bit of a struggle.
However, the egg parents are responsible for discussing and crosschecking information with multiple people. Like Bagi and Leo’s NINHO room, Bad didn’t really explain the significance of the NINHO rooms so she should go and ask Philza, Forever or Fit who have eggs about the NINHO to get more info about it since she now has an egg. Along with Tubbo and Sunny accidentally taking Leo’s stuff when they shouldn’t have which I could get more into but I already made this essay of a post.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much at the moment because it is really the excitement of new eggs although this concern is totally valid. But if they do actively continue to treat the eggs the same way they treat Bad, then frankly they aren’t understanding any of the characters on the qsmp. Cause even kids can be in the wrong, it’s just part of the learning journey and if they aren’t doing bad things on purpose or by accident then they aren’t experiencing life for what it is.
