Oh my god the new raccoon trade in Stardew Valley is SO good. I can now use gold to buy mahogany seeds by just going to Clint's and buying coal first. This is such a good late game option compared to trading in stingrays on Ginger Island.

Hey um... one of my oak trees went all wonky in the fall and it's now the beginning of spring and it hasn't produced any resin since then. I tried removing and replacing the tapper and it didn't work. I even tried fairy dust and nothing happened.

Here's what the tree looks like. I forgot to take a pic in fall but it started acting up right as it lost its leaves so it just looked the same as it does in winter.

It looks almost normal in the spring but it's not producing resin so clearly something is still off with it.

On the bright side, I just learned that you can harvest crops in garden pots with the iridium scythe, so that's pretty awesome.

Aw man. You don't get experience from harvesting forageables with the iridium scythe. I hope that's just a bug that needs to be fixed, because picking a field full of them all by hand is a chore and you do get experience when harvesting regular crops with the iridium scythe.

What is Mobius:

Mobius is Sonic's home planet/world separate from Earth from a few old western Sonic continuities, and it stopped being used to refer to Sonic's home in new continuities around when Sonic Adventure was released. As far as I remember, Mobius has never been name dropped in a Sonic game.

In the mainline games, Sonic and co live on Earth. The mainline games include everything made by Sonic Team and most games made by 2nd party developers. Sonic Chronicles and Sonic Boom are 100% not canon. Nothing outside of the games are canon to the games with only a few exceptions, such as the prequel comics and animations used to promote mainline games. All Sonic spin off series are only canon to themselves.

(Side note; Humans are in most Sonic games. Eggman is a human. He is in most Sonic games. He has been since the first one.)

Summary: Mobius is Sonic's home from old spin off Sonic media. In the canon games made by Sonic Team and a few others, Sonic has always lived on Earth.

What is the order of events:

The Sonic timeline is way simpler than people make it seem. It goes: Classic Sonic games in order of release -> Modern Sonic games in order of release. Classic Sonic is the small Sonic without irises (just black pupils). Modern Sonic is the taller Sonic with green irises. There is time travel sometimes, but it literally does not matter. Time travel shenanigans stay within the games they're a part of and don't affect the rest of the timeline.

Honestly, the plots of most Sonic games are pretty self contained, so their order often does not matter anyway. However, newer games sometimes do reference events and use characters from older games, so even if the continuity doesn't matter much, it's still there. Think of it like how episodic cartoons work. New episodes might use elements from old episodes, but since each episode is a self contained story, a new viewer could watch any episode just fine without being confused.

Summary: The timeline is Classic Sonic games -> Modern Sonic games. Don't worry about it too much; Most Sonic game plots are self contained anyway.

Conclusion:

If you really care about Sonic canon and continuity, please either play the games or watch Let's Plays of them. Sonic fans often cannot be trusted and the Fandom Wiki is not well sourced. I don't know where you heard that Frontiers takes place when the cast is "a lot older", but that's just false. The cast, mainly Sonic, had a more "mature" voice direction and that was it. There was no indication of a significant time skip in the game itself.

I can answer further questions, but honestly, the timeline and what is/isn't canon doesn't matter outside of discussions on those topics. If you're just making fan works, then canon is whatever you want it to be.

I am a newbie fan who only knows of the lore from the old 90s-2000s cartoons and coming back through sonic prime and I’m a little lost 😭

1. What is mobius??

Is it earth or is it a separate dimension?

Bcs on the wiki it says that's what sonics home was referred to in sonic adventure, but was scrapped after that and said that earth was Sonic's home in SA

But earth being where he lives also implies that there's humans living there which is true in SOME games but not most in what I’ve seen

But in sonic x earth wasn't his home

And then in sonic underground it refers to mobius quite a few time i think even though I know sonic underground takes place in another dimension/time line

2. What is the order of events???

Is there even like an official timeline? I’ve heard that frontiers happens when they’re all a lot older but in things like MOSTH sage shows up and I thought that took place in “present day”

Why'd they have to call it that?

#Like okay the letter 'x' has been used to signify crossovers (with the x specifically being a cross) for years now.#But like... they could have just called it 'Sonic and Shadow Generations'.
