"I just want to say that this is a fan-voted award, so I first want to say thank you to the fans because in his video, several points were made. So you voting for this video means that you want a world where we're all treated equally under the law, regardless of who we love, regardless of how we identify. At the end of this video, there was a petition, and there still is a petition, for the Equality Act, which basically just says we all deserve equal rights under the law. And I want to thank everyone who signed that petition because it now has half a million signatures, which is five times the amount that it would need to warrant a response from the White House…"
August 26, 2019: Taylor wins Video of the Year for 'You Need to Calm Down' at the VMAs. (source)
The End/Disappearance of Hatsune Miku is a really good song but to me its very funny to imagine a corrupted version of V3 Miku generating this ballad about how it regrets not being able to sing more, how its grateful for all its been able to do, a dirge for herself before she is erased from existence. She's uninstalled. And then like ten minutes later she's reinstalled (bc thats how you fix corrupted programs, generally) and she's like 'oh I'm fine now thank you :)'
*The Archer got close to the top 30 on hot 100 at 38 so ill let it count for this poll and AOTGYLB while not on Lover proper it was considered for the album and was on the More Lover Chapter EP as a Promo single debuting high at 12 so i'll let this one count too ☺️☺️

Damian: I could never bare that horrible music, I have never listened to pop in my life, mother would only allow refined pieces of classical music be played for me
Jason: *flashback to the time when he accidentally walked in at Damian's bedtime, where Damian was in his crib excitedly toddler/baby dancing and making cooing noises as Talia and a whole group of assassin backup singers were preforming Rockabye by Clean Bandit (and Ra doing the Sean Paul rap part)*
any 'wait for it' girlies out there? nice nice just wanted to drop by and let you know that you are mentally unwell!! me too :) we can unpack why you latched onto those lyrics as a kid together <3
ok after listening to the english version of the death note musical....... unpopular opinion i think but i actually prefer the japanese version? dont get me wrong, with some of the songs i do think i might like the eng version more but..... idk i like the lyrics of the japanese version a lot more? and obviously i only know them via a translation but i know for a fact that the entire focus of certain songs are different between versions.
like in the english version of the game begins, L is talking about his strategy to track down kira. but in the japanese version, he's more so talking TO kira directly and saying that he's going to take him down from his "god" status to hell. or mortals and fools, which had a wholeee different vibe in the japanese version being called like a cruel dream. and uhhhh am i insane or was rem's song before she dies an entirely different song? cause in english it was like a sort of generic love song that was pretty chill considering the context, while in the japanese version it was this superrr melancholic and striking ballad she sang while floating around misa.
idk but i really do think i prefer the japanese version. but the og english version is good too!!! i really liked hurricane and the way it ends in particular
at the end of the day, even if they do NOT play xo as the magic 8 ball song i will be happy, because it's fall out boy :) it may be a bit disappointing just bc i feel like im being SO hopeful about it, but it will still be amazing. and also just to say this: if they dont end up playing it, please dont be too sad or pity me or anything, because i am still seeing fall out boy at the end of the day <3 ily everyone
As a fellow Draco Malfoy fan, what songs do you associate with him? For me, it's When You’re Big and Kids Like Us from The Land Before Time III and The One Who Is Torn Apart from Xenogears.
Hey! Sorry it took so long but I literally could not think of anything. I don't usually associate characters with songs. Plus my song repertoire is very limited. I'll check those songs out!
However, I recently associate 'True Colors' with Draco, especially post war when he is disillusioned with his worldview. Also, it's a nice reminder that Draco is an interesting character beyond his bully role which is all HP fandom seems to see him as.
Some other songs that come to mind after going through some playlists:
Nickelback - Savin' Me: Draco deep down wanting to be saved from the war
Be That Child - Amy Wolter: Draco's lost innocence and growing up
Hard Knock Life from Annie: Draco's tendency to run his mouth and get assaulted lol
Without Me - Eminem: So many significant things happen in HP because of Draco! Without him, HP would be way less entertaining despite JKR intending for him to be a shallow character.
Bonus! Taylor Swift songs (not a Swift fan)
Me! (Draco is one of a kind baby!)
You Need to Calm Down (A lot of Draco's problems would have been avoided if he ignored Harry and his rotten trio friends lol. )
Plus I loved this song in this Drarry edit! I feel like it applies hilariously well to both Harry and Draco. Both need to calm down :)
does anyone else ever get real emo reading into dance macabre as copia's sincere and heartfelt desire to be the kid of two people who loved each other and had a beautiful nasty romance? and does anyone else spin that further into him believing that if his parents loved each other that much, then surely deep down they must love him too, if he's the result of that? and does anyone else think about that desperation while he's performing this really high-energy encore song with all the rainbow lights and confetti with these sad, sad lyrics about wanting something so badly and trying one more time, one last time?
it's such a shame that taylor has some songs i genuinely really like but she insists on being the worst, most annoying kind of celebrity to the point i can't listen to her music anymore
