we often wonder, when listening to recorded music from decades ago, whether the musician who played the bum note in there somewhere thought about it for the rest of their life (or is still thinking about it)

but then we remember that Wendy Carlos made a "millennium" version of Switched-On Bach using digital synths and sequencers, and in the piece Sinfonia to Cantata #29 she not only had a bum note in the sequence but it got repeated later on as she clearly copypasted the sequence where it repeats, and we feel a little better about our own various musical fuckups and how they thankfully never made it onto a popular recording

Christmas as a cultural icon is starting to get really dystopian in a climate sense, december has historically been a time of year in which there would be snow in a significant portion of europe and north america, and the fact that its not even icy this time of year and all the christmas songs and decorations reference a time of year that will likely never exist in the same way again in my life time is so strange.
