    He’d missed first period.
Whatever. If he wanted to risk his chances at graduation with shoddy attendance, so be it.
    It wasn’t like she cared.
Sitting through Ms. O’Donnell’s ramblings on… whatever Shakespearian drama she’d decided to delve into that week was usually easy for her. Simple; she’d take a few notes, answer a few questions. But, as her eyes drifted to the empty seat three desks over, Veronica couldn’t help but chew on her lip - it wasn’t unusual for Eddie to be late, but he was rarely absent. She kicked her feet, trying to figure out where he could be, what he could be doing, so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t hear name being called.
“Miss Windsor?” Mrs. O’Donnell called out, tapping her manicured fingers against her desk in annoyance. “Miss Windsor!”
“H-Huh…?” Veronica’s head snapped toward the board, face flushed as she desperately tried to recall what the older woman had been saying. “I’m sorry, what was the question?”
Mrs. O’Donnell rolled her eyes. “What was Romeo’s intention in pursuing Juliet?”
Veronica gave a quick answer - true love. It seemed to pacify the woman, as she’d turned back around and continued her droll recitation of the literary classic. Struggling to keep from gnawing at her nails, her eyes moved to the clock hanging above the door, and she counted the seconds for the class to be over, a feeling of unease already settling itself in her stomach.
He’d missed second period, and third - and by fifth, Veronica was beside herself with worry. Not that he deserved her concern, but it still managed to wrap itself around her chest, tightening, pulling the air from her lungs as she pushed through the heavy double-doors leading into the lunchroom. Searching the crowd, she nearly barreled into an unsuspecting group of freshmen in her haste to reach her table.
“Max.” Veronica called out, winded, clearly frazzled, dazed and confused beyond anything her friends had ever seen. “Did you see Eddie this morning?” The younger girl gave her an odd look, chewing through her sad excuse of a burger before answering with a shrug.
“His van was still there when Steve picked me up.”
“You didn’t see him at all?”
Max shook her head, stabbing a straw through her carton of chocolate milk. “He’s probably sick.” she said by way of a reply, giving the two of them an exasperated look. “Like, who the Hell goes for a bike ride in the middle of a thunderstorm?”
Sick? Of course he’d gotten sick.
Eddie was sick… and it was her fault.
“You lookin’ for him?” Robin chimed in, wiping sandwich crumbs from her hands. “I have him next period - I can pass along a message, if I see him.”
Veronica slowly shook her head, her thoughts a violent spiral behind her troubled eyes. “No, it’s… That’s okay. I don’t think he’s here today.” She looked around the room, her bag suddenly too heavy, the noises suddenly too loud. She needed to get out, needed to leave-
“Hey, aren’t you going to eat?” Max shouted over the crowd, giving Robin a confused look as they watched Veronica shove her way toward the doors.
“I forgot I had something to do!” she shouted back, giving them both a wave, not bothering to look back. “I’ll call you later, okay?”
Tumblr media
Veronica stared at the door to the trailer, absentmindedly counting the rusted spots speckling the metal, the plastic Melvald’s bag in her hand stuffed to the brim with… everything, feeling as though it’d been filled with bricks. Don’t be stupid, it’s just Munson, she reminded herself, her words echoing through the empty expanses of her mind, never finding purchase, never truly reassuring her. Taking in what she intended to be a calming breath, she knocked on the door. Once, twice, even a third time, but was met with silence, the quiet buzzing of the rain around her silenced only by the sound of her pulse thrumming in her ears.
Looking around, she found the small plastic rock hidden just behind the railing Eddie had shown her after their first few meetings; flipping it over, she pulled out the key, brassy and well-worn with age, and let herself in. “Hello?” she called out, her voice cautious, hesitant - she'd never actually used the secret key before. Usually, Wayne had always been around to let her inside. She felt… out of place, being in the trailer by herself. Something felt off, missing. “Uncle Wayne? You home?”
She took off her shoes at the door, not wanting to track in mud and water. The television was off, as was the radio, the coffee maker, the hallway light that always seemed to flicker, no matter how new the bulb was. The unending stillness unnerved her, the sound of her setting her bag of supplies atop the kitchen counter much too loud, too jarring. Working quickly, she pulled out a pot from one of the cabinets, putting it on the stove, all but tearing open a can of soup and leaving it to warm - chicken noodle. Simple, filling, familiar. She wasn’t sure what kind of soup Eddie liked, and for the life of her, she didn’t know why she cared. But, she conceded with a sigh, he did need to eat - even if that meant taking his preferences into consideration.
With the soup debacle cleared, Veronica made her way further into the trailer, to where she knew Eddie’s bedroom to be; the furthest room down the narrow hallway, past the bathroom and the oddly-framed picture of geese flying over a lake, worn and yellowed from years of nicotine. She stopped just before the threshold of his door, her mind still a whirlwind as she took that final step forward.
“Eddie…?” she whispered, having to squint her eyes as she looked around the room. The curtains were drawn, the blinds closed, blanketing the room in a stuffy, musty darkness. “Munson, are you in here?” Hearing no answer, she let herself in, and reached for where she knew his lamp to be - and, to her shock, she found him, abed and asleep. Rather, as asleep as someone with a raging fever could be. A swell of sympathy - unwarranted sympathy, she reminded herself - overcame her at the sight of him, shiny with sweat, his brows furrowed almost painfully as he groaned, turning onto his side, pulling his blankets infinitely tighter around him. Even from beneath the covers, she could tell how roughly he trembled, his cheeks and nose apple-red.
“God, Munson, why’d you have to do that…?” She brought his desk chair to his bedside, her touch gentle, featherlight as she brushed the damp hair off his forehead, feeling for his temperature. “You total dingus…” Her mind began to wander, her thoughts trailing off to nothing as she allowed herself a single indulgence; she let her hand trail down his face, the backs of her fingers soft against the light stubble of his cheek, tracing over the gentle edge of his jaw. Feeling the caress through the iron grip of his nightmare, Eddie leaned into her touch with another groan, chasing any relief he could find, its source be damned. He was so hot, and she was cold-
    “Hey, you alive in there?”
That voice. Wincing as he swallowed against the dryness of his throat, Eddie peeled his eyes open, aching and miserable in a way he hadn’t felt since… well, since he’d been dragged out of the Upside Down. His chest burned, his hands itched, but all he could feel was the cool relief ghosting over his skin. He blinked, his eyes adjusting to the darkness, his mind still a pitiful haze as he mumbled, “Angel…?”
    Angel. That was new.
“Sorry, it’s just me.” Veronica tried to keep her smile out of her voice. She didn’t pull her hand away, letting it rest against him, her thumb rubbing slow circles over his cheek. “How are you feeling?”
“Bad-” Eddie croaked, burying his face into his blanket as he let out a series of hoarse coughs, his shoulders shaking with the effort he expended trying to catch his breath, tears gleaming at the corners of his eyes as he calmed himself down. “Shit. Bad.”
“I’m sorry.” Her response was genuine, honest. “Would some warm soup make you feel better?”
“Not hungry.” he mumbled with a pout unbefitting his twenty years.
Veronica rolled her eyes, shaking her head as she bit back her grin. “You can’t take your medicine on an empty gut.” At her words, a shiver ran through him - just the mention of medicine made his stomach roll, clench, flip; he buried his face back into the blanket, his breathing labored as he tried to keep himself from tossing his cookies all over the carpet.
“What is it?” Veronica asked, suddenly panicked. “Are you-”
    Eddie nodded.
Her head snapped around the room, searching for something she could give to Eddie to use, counting the seconds between his breaths as she finally found his trash bin. Dumping out the empty baggies and crumbled homework assignments, she shoved the thing at his face just as he’d started to heave. She held onto him - he clung to her - as he brought up whatever sorry excuse of a meal he’d had that day; pulling aside his hair, she rubbed at his back, mumbling soothing words, her touch grounding him as he pulled away, wiping at his mouth with the back of his hand.
    “Feeling better?”
    “Still shit.”
She leaned him back against the wall, propping him up with pillows to keep him comfortable as she left to flush away his impromptu escapade, returning with a glass of water. “Drink it.” She left no room for arguments, but he was too weak to even reach out for the thing, let alone bring it to his mouth. Veronica, again, rolled her eyes as he looked away, his own clenched shut in shame, his lips a thin line as he tried to keep them from quivering.
“You’re something else, Munson, y’know that?”
    He didn’t argue with her.
With the patience of a saint, she brought the glass to his lips, pausing often to let him breathe as she made sure he finished it off, leaving and returning with another - and a sleeve of saltines. “C’mon, big boy, you need to eat.” He shook his head, focusing on his breathing, slow and steady. She leaned in toward him, her hand back on his forehead, tender and sweet - she had to break out the heavy artillery. “Just one. For me, yeah?” She pressed the salty square to his mouth, watching with unfiltered satisfaction as he nibbled at the corner of one, then another, and another still, until he had downed half the packet.
“That wasn’t so bad, was it?” she asked, pointedly ignoring his piercing glare. “Feeling up for that soup now?”
With a stifled groan, he nodded, the emptiness of his stomach more uncomfortable than the prospect of eating. His gaze followed her out as she disappeared down the hall, something in his sickness-addled mind screaming at him to bring her back, to keep her with him; he tried to move but couldn’t, tried to shout but wasn’t able to produce any sound louder than a squeak. He wanted her, needed her - where was she? How long had she been gone? He couldn’t hear her anymore. Had she left? Was he by himself? As the seconds ticked by - hours to him - the lonely ache that he’d always kept at the fringes of his mind flooded into him, enveloped him, dominated his thoughts.
He was alone, as he always was.
“Hey, hey, whoa - what’s with the waterworks?” Veronica was quick to set the soup on his nightstand, falling back into her seat as she brought her hands - still warmed from the bowl - to Eddie’s face, catching his tears, wiping them away as they dripped onto his lap. “What happened? Your stomach hurt again?”
“Y-You… You l-left…” he tried to say, swallowing against the aching knot in his throat. “You were gone.”
“I was in the kitchen, remember? Getting your soup?” she ran a hand through his hair, making a mental note to brush it out later. “What, did you think I…” As the meaning of his words seeped into her mind, she felt her heart constrict, her stomach drop. “Eddie, did you think I went home?”
He didn’t answer. He didn’t have to.
How often had he been forced to do this by himself? To weather his illnesses on his own? As much as she knew the man loved his nephew, she couldn’t imagine Wayne staying home to take care of him - nor could she imagine Eddie letting him do such a thing.
“I’m right here, dingus.” Her voice dropped to a whisper, still tight as she cradled the side of his face, pulling at him to look at her. “I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
Again, he nodded, staring at her as though she were an angel. His angel.
She fed him the soup, filling the silence between them with mindless chatter about the school day - rather, it was mindless to him. For the life of him, he couldn’t understand a word she was saying, his eyes already beginning to droop as she set the now-empty bowl aside.
She watched as his head bobbed once, twice, smiling as she pulled at a few of the pillows behind him to lay him back down. “Sleepy?” she asked, tugging his blanket up to his shoulders, biting back a grin as he curled up and turned himself toward her.
    “Tired.”
    “I bet.”
    “Soup was good.”
    “I’m glad it was.”
Veronica stood up, the bowl and half-eaten sleeve of crackers balanced in one hand when she felt something pull at the hem of her skirt, urging her to turn around.
    “Stay…?”
“...Sure, Munson.” she relented, her sigh warm, balmy as her voice pulled him further into whatever dream his mind had chosen for him - something pleasant, she hoped. “I’ll stay.”
Slowly, peacefully, Eddie drifted away, clinging to her hand as tightly as his sapped strength would allow, the smallest of smiles on his lips at the feeling of her beside him.
Tumblr media
    “Christ, I feel like shit.”
Eddie walked out into his living room, hands scrubbing at his face as he stumbled toward the kitchen in search of something to drink, his tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth, chapped lips nearly to the point of bleeding.
“Look like it, too.” Wayne called out from the couch, turning down the game he’d been watching before leaving for work - football, probably. Eddie was too exhausted to even pretend to care. “There’s still soup on the stove, if you’re hungry.”
Eddie rushed into the kitchen as quickly as his sapped strength allowed - more of a hobble than a run. “Aw, Uncle Wayne, you shouldn’t have.” he croaked, lifting the lid, sighing as a salty cloud of steam reached his face. God, he was starving.
“I didn’t.” Wayne kept his voice even in tone, watching as his nephew pulled a bowl from inside the cabinet beside the stove, digging through one of the drawers for a spoon, all the while biting back a grin. “The lil’ lady did.”
Eddie dropped his spoon in the pot, hissing out a curse as he tried to fish it out, burning the tips of his fingers in the hot broth. “Veronica? She was here?” He stared at his uncle for some sort of clarification, but the man just shrugged. “When was this?”
“Today.” Wayne said by way of reply, walking toward the solitary peg on the wall where he’d hang his coat. “Must’ve skipped school to come here, I think. Brought you all sorts of goodies.” At his words, Eddie finally noticed the plastic bag set atop the counter, filled with several more cans of soup, bottles and boxes of medicine - and, at the very bottom of the bag, pretzels. The tiny ones he liked to eat at school.
She’d remembered the kind he liked.
Memories of earlier that day slowly trickled into his mind - Veronica in his room, feeding him, calming him down. Him, in tears; her, holding his hand. As if he hadn’t already been feeling like a sentient pile of hot garbage, the fact that she had gone out of her way - skipped school, of all things - to look after him buried what was left of his crumbling pride.
Wasn’t she upset with him? Didn’t she hate him?
    And, yet, she still cared.
He felt like such a loser.
“Don’t forget to take your medicine.” Wayne called out from the door, pulling his hat down over his balding head, hand already gripping the doorknob. “Every six hours, she said. Couldn’t get you to take it before.”
Eddie waved off his uncle, his mind still reeling at the fact that Veronica had been there -  in his trailer, in his bedroom, with him. Tearing open the safety seal to a bottle of NyQuil, he grimaced as he took the measured amount, chasing down the green bile with a glass of water, all while thinking only of her.
Tumblr media
It took two days before Eddie was well enough to return to school, and his presence was met with a… mixed reception.
    “Veronica…!”
Eddie struggled to shout above the waves of students ebbing and flowing through the halls, all eager to leave for the day, the sound of the final bell still ringing in his ears as he pushed his way forward. ”Veronica, please - just listen to me!”
“Shove it, Munson.” her voice carried little, yet he heard it all the same, her words piercing his chest, his heart. Nonetheless, he continued after her, nearly knocking someone over as he pushed through the building’s front doors. He was paces behind her now - so close, yet still impossibly far away.
“Please, I… Just let me explain!”
“What could you possibly have to explain-”
“Five minutes.” he begged, pleaded, his hands shaking as he held them at his sides. “Please… A-And then you’ll never have to talk to me again, I swear.”
He stared at her, holding his breath as she turned around, hands set firmly at her hips. Even with the distance between them, he could see the pain in her eyes, certain they reflected his own. He let out a trembling exhale, tearing a hand through his hair as he tried to gather his thoughts into some semblance of order, his lip worried to the point of bruising between his teeth.
“What you heard that day, I… It came out wrong.” He swallowed, still watching her, the iota of confidence he’d had going into their conversation deflating as she rolled her eyes. “I didn’t mean it like that-”
“How did you mean it, then?”
“Not the way you took it…!”
Veronica let out a groan, pinching the space between her eyes, her head falling to her chest as she turned back around, frustrations mounting as she struggled with the lock on her bicycle. “I don’t have time for this.”
Eddie found himself at an impasse, his unbridled need for her to just understand bringing him nearly to the verge of tears, the muddled desperation bleeding through his chest breaking his voice. “I-I miss you.”
She froze, shoulders stiff, her hands stilling atop the chilled lock as she swallowed at the tightness coiling in her throat, her words soft and strained as she replied, “Eddie, don’t-”
“I mean it, Veronica.” He took a half-step toward her, a cautious step, maybe just a tread. Still, she didn’t shy away from him; he took what little he could and bolstered his resolve. “And I’d rather you hate me and know that I do, than… than hate me and think that I don’t.”
Hate him? Veronica spun back around, giving him a pointed look as if to say she’d never heard something so ridiculous. “I don’t hate you, I…” She blinked once, twice, before pressing the heels of her palms to her eyes, cursing herself for getting so emotional. “God, I just… I really thought we were finally friends, y’know?”
    “We are friends-”
“Are we?” She hadn’t realized she’d raised her voice, drawing more than a few curious eyes from the students still gathered in the parking lot. “Because it sure as Hell didn’t seem that way when you were talking to Gareth!”
"Forget Gareth! Forget that whole conversation!" Eddie started to pace, pulling at his hair, dragging his hands down his face as he tried to keep his breathing in check, failing miserably as he felt a sweltering heat work its way up his neck. “I was being a total dickhead, alright? I didn’t mean any of it! I was just talking straight out of my ass-”
    “God, seriously-”
“I’m an idiot - I know! But, sweetheart, you have to believe me…!”
He stopped, turning on his heel to look at her, swearing he could feel her indecisiveness; it made him want to scream, watching how uncertain she was, how her hands tugged at the hem of her cable knit sweater, gaze falling to her feet.
And Eddie dropped to the ground, to his knees, hands reaching out, grabbing one of her own, his voice loud and booming as though they weren’t surrounded by dozens of inquisitive people. “Oh, will the beautiful princess spare a morsel of pity for this lowly knight?” As he continued on, Veronica couldn’t help the smile tugging at her lips, her resistance withering away with each passing phrase.
    “Eddie, get up-”
“Pray tell, shall ye bestow thine most benevolent forgiveness upon such a homely creature as I?” He didn’t care for the small crowd gathered around them, gawking at his display - some in annoyance, but more than a few in unspoken envy. His focus was solely on Veronica, on the way her warring thoughts were clear as day behind her verdant eyes, her expression a cautionary mix of sadness and… and hope.
Calling forth what was left of his courage, he brought her hand to his lips, pressing the softest of kisses atop her knuckles, his touch lingering perhaps a bit too long before he lifted his head to look at her.
    “Please, Veronica…?”
    “Get off the ground, dingus.”
He scrambled to his feet, his eyes never leaving hers, his stomach leaping as he waited for her to speak, to sort through her thoughts.
Veronica kicked at a pebble near her foot, her shoulders falling ever so slightly, braids swaying as she shifted from one leg to the other, her hesitation palpable. “You… You really hurt my feelings, Eds.” Her voice was small, quiet, and it pained him to hear it, knowing he was at fault.
    “I know - and I’m sorry, sweetheart.”
She looked at him - truly looked at him  - and the shadow of a smile playing at her lips sent butterflies soaring through his chest. “So, what you said before… You didn’t mean it?”
“Everything in that conversation can be regarded as false.” he answered quickly, his eagerness making her budding smile broaden, even if only a little. He took another reluctant step toward her, hands stuffed into his pockets, lip caught between his teeth as he asked, “So, are we okay? Are… Are we still friends?”
And she shoved at his shoulder, rolling her eyes, her reply of, “Yes, you dweeb, we’re still friends.” sending an explosion of relief blooming through him, his body moving on its own accord as he picked her up in his arms, his head resting atop hers, his smile absolutely radiant as she returned his embrace with one just as tight.
Tumblr media
Eddie wiped the sweat trailing over his brow, shaking the nervousness from his hands as he made his way up Jeff’s driveway toward the open garage, guitar slung across his back, heart pounding in his throat. Inside, he could see the other three already gathered, practicing what he could only assume to be their Indy setlist; his stomach dropped, tightened as Gareth's words echoed through his mind.
He had been neglecting the band; Hell, he couldn't even remember the last time he’d played his Sweetheart, let alone practiced with them.
The trio were quiet as he approached them, unsure of what to say, how to address him - and he deserved as much, he’d figured. It was only fair, considering how things had been going as of late.
Thomas was the first to acknowledge him. "Hey, Eds." he called out, giving his friend a wave, breaking the frigid ice between them; Eddie gave a smile in return, hands deep into his pockets as he looked between the three of them, his mind wiped clean of the speech he'd prepared.
“Look, I-” he began, but was… cut off? Jeff waved his hand around, shutting him up as he whispered something sternly to Gareth, pushing the younger man forward.
“Look, man, before you start, Gareth’s got something he wants to say.” Another shove, and Gareth’s standing face-to-face with the repentant metalhead, tugging at his fingers, kicking his feet. "Don’t you?"
Eddie watched, waited as Gareth took in a deep, steeling breath, hands twisting behind him as he worked through his thoughts.
    “Dude-”
“I-I was wrong, for saying what I did.” Gareth’s voice, quiet as it was, carried through the open garage as though he’d been shouting, his apology hanging heavy between them. “I was just… angry, I guess…”
Eddie blinked, still reeling from the shock of having received an apology at all - and from Gareth, of all people; he’d gone to the group fully prepared to grovel for his spot back in the band.
“I… We… know how hard you’re working to graduate this time - and that stuff I said about Veronica was just…” Gareth continued, rubbing at the back of his neck as he looked behind him to Jeff, who gave him an encouraging look. And, taking in a final breath, he quickly added, “I’m sorry, man. We all are.”
Eddie shook his head, still in obvious disbelief; he took a step forward, crossing the length of the garage and dismissing Gareth’s extended hand altogether as he pulled the young man into his arms, his hold well past the point of tightening discomfort.
“A-Alright, man!” Gareth laughed, both returning his friend’s embrace and struggling to escape from it; Eddie, finally relenting, turned to them all, his face tickled pink as he asked,
“So… uh… Am I back in the band?”
“Dude, who said you ever left?” Thomas exclaimed, clapping a hand against Eddie’s shoulder with enough - albeit loving - force to knock him off balance, and the metalhead’s smile is blinding as he takes his usual position beside Gareth, strumming away at his guitar.

"Eddie!" Chrissy squeals over the radio bluetooth and Eddie can't help the smile that break across his face.
"Hey Chris! How's my best girl?" Eddie hadn't seen his best friend in months. She had gone off to IU and Eddie had stayed in Chicago working on a tattoo apprenticeship.
They had both been so busy, Eddie with his work and Chrissy was busy with college and--well Chrissy had apparently went a gotten herself involved with a metal band? Eddie was very confused about the specifics, but he had finally gotten some time off and Chrissy's band had a gig in Indianapolis tonight so, they were making a vacation of it.
"I'm so excited you're coming tonight! The band is so excited to meet you! Even though they've seen pictures, they are convinced I made you up!" Chrissy giggles and Eddie laughs with her.
"Yeah, I'm sure they think I'm a garbage best friend, but I'm gonna be the loudest motherfucker there, I swear to god. First round after the shows on me!"
Chrissy keeps laughing. "I'm glad you said it, cause Stevie was already telling everybody that my imaginary best friend had the honors of first round anyway."
Chrissy had told Eddie about Stevie. Going on, and on about her. 'Stevie is a fucking musical genius.' 'You won't believe what Stevie came up with today.' 'God, I can't wait for you and Stevie to meet, you guys are gonna hit it off immediately.' He was glad that Chrissy had found a girlfriend, she deserves the best, but Eddie would have to lay it on think when he met this Stevie chick. Make sure that she takes care of his girl.
Chrissy was a raging lesbian and Eddie was Kinsey six gay, but they were platonic soulmates until death and Stevie is gonna have to know that Eddie will kill for Chrissy Cunningham.
The bar was fucking packed. Christ. Eddie should be jealous. Before he had started tattooing he had always wanted to play music, but, shit. He was just fucking proud of Chrissy.
After he had kicked back of few shots of whiskey he was able to push his way up to the front of the crowd just as the stage lights started going haywire. The crowd was yelling and Eddie lost his shit when Chrissy came strutting out in a hot pink skater dress and chunk black doc martens. Her hair was pulled into ridiculously perky pigtails. How this was going to be a metal performance Eddie was very unsure, but he was excited as fuck to see her in anyway.
"Hiya Indy!" Chrissy yells. Eddie yells back with the audience and Chrissy squeals in the mic when she sees Eddie cheering for her. "Hi Eds!" She runs up grabbing his hand and Eddie laughs, squeezing her hand quickly, before she pulls away. "I'm Chrissy Cunningham and me and my band Versailles are super excited to be back here. Well, without further ado my boys are gonna come out here and we'll get this party started huh?"
The crowd goes wild and Eddie watches as three men come running out. There's a drummer, a bassist, and a guitarist. Eddie is stoked as hell. Watching as Chrissy hypes up the band. He hears someone in the crowd yell "Where's Steve?"
Chirssy ears perk up. "Stevie? Oh I'm sure Stevie's around here somewhere let me just--" She pulls out a hot pink flip phone. Eddie lets out a loud laugh as he recognizes the damn thing as Chrissy's first phone, from seventh grade. His laughter is cut short as a dial tone starts playing over the speakers
It's a bit.
"Hi Stevie! I--I mean Ken…Um…Are you free right now? I have a song that I need you on. Like now?" Chrissy speaks into the microphone, and the crowd zeroes in on Chrissy as she 'calls' for Stevie. Eddie is so busy being impressed with his best friends stage presence he almost misses the smoke show that comes running out from stage right.
He's pretty sure he should pick his fucking jaw up from the floor. The man has on the tightest jeans Eddie has ever seen tucked into clunky combat boots, framing his ass…quite nicely. His hair is styled far too perfect for a metal show, but Eddie is not complaining. The kicker though, is the hot pink tactical vest he has on over his shirtless, very hairy--fuck--chest. Is this a concert or is this one of Eddie's fucked up sexual fantasies?
Eddie snaps his mouth shut, eyes wide as he stares at Chrissy and…Stevie.
Oh Shit.
Eddie watches as Stevie--Steve--the source of Eddie's very confused boner right now--whatever the hell his name is--pulls the flip phone out of her hand and leans into the mic.
They both smile right at Eddie. He swears he sees Chrissy wink.
"Let's Party."
Eddie is both entertained and internally tormented throughout the rest of the show. Chrissy knew exactly what she was doing, forgetting to mention that Stevie was a) A man and b) exactly Eddie's fucking type.
Eddie liked pretty boys, and apparently this pretty boy knew how to scream, which--that was--that was doing for Eddie.
Throughout the show Eddie picked up that Chrissy did a fair amount of clean vocals and Steve did a mix between cleans and screaming. Versailles as a whole was actually pretty good, but Eddie was going to have to apologize to Chrissy, because he only had eyes for Steve.
Should he be embarrassed for popping a boner at his apparently metalheaded best friends show? Probably, but--he was not. Steve was fucking hot.
He was also a fucking menace. He kept running up to Eddie, grabbing at his hands, leaning down to scream in his fucking face, and Chrissy, when she caught him doing it, just smirked.
Eddie was gonna kill her.
Eddie leaned against the bar, waiting as the crowd around Versailles died down and spread out. He caught Chrissy's eye as she hopped off the stage running up to Eddie at full speed. She jumped into his arms, "Eddieee!"
Eddie huffed out a laugh. "You have so much explaining to do." He whispered into her ear.
Chrissy just laughed as Eddie set her down, smiling from ear to ear. "Yeah, and I think you owe a pretty boy a drink."

Fuck it Friday
tagged by @daffi-990 @disasterbuckdiaz @wikiangela
really saying fuck it, by posting snippets from two wips! first is from you have my heart, and the second one is from a new wip i started based on the current book i'm reading, thank you for listening, in which buck and eddie are romance novel audiobook narrators.
Hen walks over to Bobby, who seems tired and exhausted over the whole ordeal. She doesn’t blame him. Bobby always seems so good at keeping it together, the man deserves to let go of his mask once everyone is gone. However once he sees her, the smile slips back on. She shakes her head, letting him know it’s okay to be human with her. “It’s been a long day, Cap. I’m just glad this one ended happily for everyone this time.” He nods at that. Bobby gets up, meaning to head for the fire truck. Hen reaches a hand to stop him. “I wanted to let you know. I noticed – Chimney and I noticed – something. Something we think you should know.” Closing her eyes, she musters up the courage to say what Chimney and she silently agreed on between themselves. She told Chimney about Buck a little before he came back out of the house, and she was there as Chimney took care of Eddie’s vitals. They had to keep Buck from being in the ambulance bay as they checked Eddie over during that portion.  “Neither Buck or Eddie have their hearts.”  Bobby takes a breath at that information. “I see,” he says after a moment of silence. “Cap?” Hen searches his face, which has turned to his Captain Face. All blank and void of emotion as if he’s assessing a critical scene. “Tell me what you’re thinking.” Bobby meets her gaze. He’s exhausted, and clearly wants to go home to Athena. Hen feels the same way. Wants to go home and bring Denny into her and Karen’s bed so she can cuddle with him like when he was a toddler. “I’m thinking…that they’ll tell us when they’re ready. And when they are, I’m going to have a bitch of a time filling out new paperwork.” Bobby claps her on the back and lets her drive home that night. Hen can’t say he isn’t right. They technically don’t know how long Buck and Eddie have had each other’s hearts. However, she hopes Bobby isn’t making the wrong decision of letting those boys take their time to tell the 118. After all, despite how tired she is, she does have money on them telling them they’re a couple soon.
Second snippet under the cut.
Buck looks up from his book to greet everyone when he stops in his tracks. Already there’s someone recording in the booth. In his booth.
He ignores the glares and eyerolls from Bobby, Hen, Chimney, and…Athena? She doesn’t often come to Buck’s recording sessions. Only to quickly see her husband and check how well their employees are doing. With Bobby primarily in charge of the romance side of things, Athena is primarily in charge of the mysteries and thriller novels. Buck’s sister, Maddie likes to narrate those types of books. Her speciality being ones where the female lead solves the crime.
Buck watches as this new guy continues reading from something that sounds like a Western. A Texan accent easily slips through his lips. “‘As I watch Thomas carefully set his blanket down on the ground, wiping away any wrinkles to make sure it’s nice and neat, I can’t help but remember how sheltered this man is. Sure, he’s had a few tumbles getting through the mountains, but to his core, Thomas is a city boy meant to go back into polite and humble society. Once I get him back to his family, that’s where we part ways.’”
He’s…fine, Buck grumbles. Hen turns to him, a smirk on her lips. He must have made some sort of noise for her to be looking at him like that. Buck quickly morphs his features into a smile, although from her widening grin, he doesn’t think he pulls it off.
Keeping quiet, he whispers to Bobby, “Who is this guy?”
“Eddie Diaz, new narrator. Athena finally convinced him to join us. Been trying to get him to join the 118 for months.”
Buck’s eyes widened in shock. Eddie Diaz? He’s practically as famous as Buck in the romance genre. Buck’s been guilty of looking himself up in the audiobook romance spaces, and saw that time and time again, he and Eddie tended to be neck and neck on the most popular male narrator. With both women and men swooning over their voices. The last poll he saw, he lost by one percentage point to Eddie thanks to his latest book having an impressive amount of dirty talk. (Buck’s not bitter about it. He swears he’s not.)
“What do we need him for?” Everyone laughs as if Buck has told a joke. He didn’t. Buck already has to deal with Eddie stealing his thunder on the internet, he doesn’t need to deal with the same thing at work. Buck worked hard on getting where he is. Soon, Eddie will be taking book deals that should be going to Buck and Buck will be right where he was when he started at this record company. He’s not going to let that happen.
“I’m going to be another half hour with Eddie, Buck. If you want you can listen, or you can wait outside for your time to record,” Bobby tells him. Buck considers it. He’s heard some of Eddie’s narration before, however getting to see how Bobby directs him this last half hour would be beneficial to see just where he lands now that he knows there’s competition.
“Yeah, alright.” He plops down on the couch next to Athena. He sees she’s got a copy of what he assumes is the book Eddie is narrating. The cover depicts two men on it – one dressed as a cowboy and the other in a Victorian suit. Buck files the name of the novel to find it later on his Kindle. Meanwhile, he listens to Eddie read to everyone in the booth.
the book Eddie is reading from is completely made up, sorry! tagging @hippolotamus @malewifediaz @911-on-abc @loserdiaz @eddiebabygirldiaz @monsterrae1 @liminalmemories21 @apothecarose @mammameesh @rmd-writes @wandering-night19 @rosedavid @alrightbuckaroo @carlos-in-glasses @cold-blooded-jelly-doughnut @paperstorm @thewolvesof1998 @wildlife4life @eowon @pirrusstuff @your-catfish-friend @theotherbuckley @aroeddiediaz @ramonaflow @spotsandsocks

I hope this doesn’t come across negatively but probably more realistic with a lot of hope, but I don’t think we’ll get too many more hints of buddie this season.
Also buckle up fellow buddies as this is a long post!!
I think some of the scenes where Tommy says Chris loved Buck and that he’d never come between them alongside dialogue about ‘jumping ship’ and Eddie wanting to scrap relationships and ‘hang with the boys’ are supposed to keep the coming out arc Buck centric whilst also leaving Easter eggs for future buddie.
However I think there are a few things that will mean we won’t see much progress until maybe even the second half of season 8:
1. Whilst as a queer person I hate to say this, I do see execs saying no to two characters who to the GA have only been straight presenting so far coming out as queer being an issue at least to do so close together. However, I fully think the show has backed itself into a corner and see it being endgame but definitely not this season or early next.
2. I think the catholic guilt story line is the perfect way for Tim to keep an Eddie coming out story alive in the background. I can see them keeping Eddie single while playing out that arc on things outside of his sexuality until they get a go ahead. (I do also think they might do a Demi sexual and asexuality spectrum sort of thing for Eddie which could be cool as they’ve only had him canonically sleep with 2/3 women and so could pull off a story line where Eddie hadn’t realised his feelings for Buck because he doesn’t understand his own sexual attraction and romantic attraction)
3. Realistically Lou is likely to have less and less time available for 911, I also don’t think they’ve introduced him with enough back story (plus glossing over the not so nice bits which means they can’t even bring that back up) to be more than the usual LI. I also do think it would be great to see his and bucks relationship play out and end amicably to really cement a change in Buck. I think they’re setting him up for Buck to learn a lot from him and I think it 100% fits Buck’s character for him to not be endgame with the first man he dates.
4. I think they’ve dug themselves a hole and buddie is the only way out. Tim admitted that he felt Buck was stuck in a hamster wheel and this arc was part of his way out. I would argue that Eddie’s character is getting there too. He tries a relationship, it fails (for honestly such stupid reasons lol) and then he has this whole ‘are romantic relationships even worth it’ attitude for seasons at a time.
5. Almost all long term arcs seem like they’re going to be ending this season. Henren adopting, Madney getting married, Bibuck finally no longer stuck on a hamster reel. I can see them making someone like Ravi a main (to and then starting buddie as a long term arc next year.
I’m so glad we got bi buck but let’s be honest, the hints for some sort of sexuality arc for Eddie have been way stronger. Lou already said that the original arc was for Eddie which shows that they think they’ve left enough easter eggs for it to make complete sense. They could have stuck Buck with a woman as endgame and denied all bisexual hints and the GA would’ve bought it because Buck always chases relationships. But I think they’d really struggle to do the same for Eddie.
That was a great long ask. Thanks anon. Those are awesome points you’ve made as well.

I feel like you’re giving Steve (who I love, don’t get me wrong) a little too much credit here—
I don’t think Steve ever went out of his way to bully anyone, so I don’t think he ever bullied Robin or Eddie and only got an attitude with Jonathan after he took the pictures of him and Nancy.
But I think the argument that Steve would’ve stood up to Tommy and Carol and stopped them if they were bullying or just generally being dicks to other kids is a little overly optimistic. I think Steve wouldn’t have done anything— he wouldn’t have joined in the bullying but I don’t think he would’ve stopped them either unless they were going too far. I think his whole arc in season 1 is that he was a popular kid who went along with what everybody else did and what he was expected to do and it was because of Nancy that he finally said fuck these guys and dumped Tommy and Carol and went to go apologize to Jonathan.
I think “bullying” is only viewed in this fandom in black and whites when we are shown that Tommy and Carol were mean kids, they both tried to bully Nancy away from Steve, both made fun of Jonathan for being weird and the whole thing with his brother, and they were both kinda dicks to Barb. I don’t think this makes them evil characters but kids bully other kids, and bullying isn’t solely classified as beating up other kids and stuffing them into lockers.
I’m glad Steve had the arc he did but when people say he would NEVER stand by and let Tommy and Carol bully other kids when he has just takes away from Steve’s whole arc.
Now when people want to act like Steve could act like a bully after season 1, that’s where I have a problem. Because it was that whole arc in season 1 of realizing that Tommy and Carol are “both assholes” who don’t care about anyone but themselves, that brought Steve to become the characters he’s been since the end of season 1 forward.
let’s think about tommy and carol’s ‘worst’ behaviour:
tommy giving barb a wet willy — kind of behind steve’s back, who’s talking to nancy at the time and busy.
“it’s tuesday…” (carol and tommy mocking nancy about the party) — steve huffs out a laugh, and then goes on to try and reassure nancy.
the “jonathan killed his brother” joke — steve swats tommy and tells him to shut up.
tommy pretending not to know barb — steve tells him not to be an ass and to just answer the question.
carol and tommy sex noises — steve smirks, and kind of jokingly gestures for them to be quiet, but does nothing.
the camera — steve leads the charge (tommy and carol don’t actually do that much here, but i figured i should add it).
the graffiti/confrontation — steve actively goes along with it and helps.
carol calling nancy a slut — steve yells in her face, and tells her to watch her mouth.
(i don’t think i’ve left anything out, but obviously correct me if i’m wrong!!)
i do think steve usually goes along with those jokes a little more, and he’s trying to be on his best behaviour for nancy. but clearly he’s not afraid of standing up to them. he doesn’t dawdle about telling them to stop until nancy pushes him to do it. he just does it.
and more than that, tommy and carol seem to listen. they don’t fight back against steve until their big argument (and even then, tommy only really gets serious after steve shouts in carol’s face).
i think these scenes also give us the chance to see what the dynamic of the group is. which seems to be mainly bitchy jokes made out of earshot of the target of said jokes. and having seen the kind of jokes they make, i wouldn’t really say they regularly go “too far” or bully anyone.
like, as someone that got made fun of in school, i wouldn’t class what we see carol and tommy do on screen as bullying. they’re being twats, and making annoying jokes and loud sex noises. but bullying requires… like, effort. and i don’t think tommy and carol care about other people like that lmao. which is what steve says when he ditches them! that they don’t care about other people. that they’re content being judgmental assholes, but steve isn’t anymore.
steve doesn’t want to be surrounded by mean, petty people that bitch about everyone, and who he feels like he can’t be himself around. but i think most of that behaviour happened within their group, and not towards other people unless it’s a more extreme situation (e.g. confronting nancy about the ‘cheating’).
steve’s a very introspective character, and he has spoken about regretting high school, but those regrets were more that he wasn’t friends with whoever he wanted to be friends with because he was worried tommy would make fun of him, and not that he regrets watching bullying happen and doing nothing. which, by all accounts, steve would regret.
i think most of the groups worst behaviour was directed inwards. mean jokes shared between friends, making someone feel like a bit of an outsider because you’re cracking inside jokes, judging pretty much everyone else for bullshit reasons. the kind of stuff that made steve feel a bit shit every single day, but didn’t actually have that much of a ripple effect on the student body at large.
also, and i recognise this is just me being nitpicky, but i didn’t say that steve would stand up for all victims of bullying, just that i don’t think he’d want to be friends with people that horrifically bullied everyone.

STANCY VOLUME 2 OUTLOOK! READ BELOW GIFS!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright.. Stancy’s. Here we go. Deep dive for volume 2.
So we start where Volume 1 left off. Nancy is trapped by Vecna but makes it out. When she comes back she falls, Steve catches her and takes her to ground carefully. She cries and is in full panic, not even blinking. Steve attempts to calm her “ It’s okay. I’m right here. I’m right here…” The writers insert that line stating that Steve is here…now with Nancy. This foreshadows Jonathans line at end of the season when talking with Nancy, “Sorry I wasn’t here” STEVE WAS
Next Scene is a big one on the drive in the RV. Steve and Nance share a conversation with Steve sharing his dream in life to her. He states “ I always had this dream that I’d have this really…really big family, I’m talking about a full brood of Harringtons like five or six kids.” Nance laughs and replies “six!?” It shows the playfulness and perkiness they’ve had the whole season. Steve replies “Yeah. I figured all of us Harringtons would pack into something like this and explore the country. Nancys reaction is full of curiosity and happiness. She can’t take her eyes off Steve. He finishes by stating “Live in the sand, find a small town in California, learn to surf or something.” Nance looks to him and says” That sounds nice..” The writers give Steve a look of surprise but very hopeful. “Yeah? She smiles and replies “Yeah.” We then get a second of them again staring lost into each others eyes before Nancy states 6 kids is a bit of a nightmare. Steve signals to the back of the RV and says “If only I’ve had some practice” Nance laughs and says that’s fair. They look again to each others eyes before this time, Steve breaks contact while Nancy continues to stare at him…thinking. This really shows how much the kids mean to Steve. And Nancy is beginning to see how much he has changed. She admires it.
Next is in the Trailer back to the upside down. Steve heads right for the rope and climbs in. He takes the lead. He does a flip and lands on his feet. The directors then give us an interesting camera shot where Robin and Nancy stand next to each other. Robin states “Does he want us to applaud?” Nancy actually has an impressed look on her face with a smile, before Robin delivers the line. Next Nancy enters and lands on the mattress. Steve helps her up and they get inches from each other. Steve looks into her eyes the whole time while Nancy looks between his eyes and lips before Steve moves her along. (Glad the kiss didn’t happen here as it will mean more later and didn’t want Steve to be accused of being “The other Guy” and Nancy a “cheater.”) AGAIN they could have entered the upside down in any order but the duffers leave us with STANCY. They give us that moment for a reason. I firmly believe Steve and Nancy would not have shared that moment had Eddie, Dustin or Robin been in there with them.
Finally we get the scene in the woods. Robin runs ahead leaving Steve and Nancy on there own. This is one of the most playful scenes we’ve had between the two since season one and the writers and directors make sure we see it. Steve explains how he always moved backwards instead of forward. They have some funny back and forth kinda mocking one another and then Steve stops and says “I guess what I’m trying to say in a weird roundabout way.. is thank you.” Nancy is taken back and replies, “Thank Me?- He then replies “For giving my head the biggest bump of its life two years ago.. The directors then show Nancy’s reaction which is full of regret.. We get this on purpose. Steve moves away until Nancy catches up, still not saying anything since his comment. Steve says “Now I’m moving forward…slowly.” Again another reaction shot of Nancy hurting. He then says he thinks he and her would have made it had he been hurt by another girl first. Nancy doesn’t know what to reply knowing she’s still in a relationship. Steve then proceeds with one of the biggest Stancy moments of all time.. He says “ You remember that dream I told you about? Nancy stops and is wide eyed. Fully invested in what he’s saying. “The winnebago, seeing the country my six little nuggets..” Nancy smiles MAJORLY and lets out a little affirmative chuckle. Steve continues “it’s all true. every word.” Nancy continues to watch him not blinking not taking her eyes off him.. “I left one part out. The most important part.” We then see Nancy’s eyes begin to well with tears.. (Yes Tears 😭 Check it) “You’re there…” Her eyes widen.. He then takes a moment before stating, “You’ve always been there.” She takes it all in. She looks to the floor.. Dealing with many feelings she can’t find the words… (Currently dating Jonathan still in her mind) She begins to open her mouth when.. They are interrupted by Robin. The duffers could have easily ended the whole thing there. It could have gone two ways… 1) Nancy says Steve we can’t or I don’t feel the same way. Which ends the whole thing or.. 2) She begins to have a real conversation about the whole thing with her acknowledging her feelings for him.. but instead we get Robin to interrupt this before anything is said on Nancy’s side… Steve puts all the cards on the table in case one of them doesn’t make it out of this suicide mission. He had to tell Nancy how he feels… Season 5 will be Nancy’s turn..
Finally.. (Small One) Jonathan talks to Nancy as they board up Hoppers House. Jonathan states “I’m glad you were here.” Othwise who would have been in charge? Steve?” He tries to throw a jab and MISSES BADLY. The duffers again could have just had Nance laugh this off as a small joke or simply say “Right” but instead she delivers a huge line for the future of Stancy . She takes her eyes off Jonathan and says “ He’s actually grown up quite a bit, you know?” And then to end it all he lies again about college…
The future is bright for Stancy. The looks and glances they share are undeniable and there are still feelings for each other for both of them. Then throw in Jonathan continuing to lie.. Stancy S5.. Here we come. Let me know your thoughts!
Any scene between Steve and Nance in season 5 will be really interesting with Steve having put all of his feelings on the line. I look forward to seeing it all play out.

We never go out of style (‘Cause baby you’re perfect)
The boys got off the stage. Paying gratitude, smiling faces and all. They were happy. It was a night that deserved to be celebrated.
Not for Harry though.
Not what he felt like at least. Because, he couldn’t even be wholeheartedly glad about their achievements tonight. And the reason for that was glaring at him, right in the front row of the seats.
God, why did she have to be right at the bloody front?
It was like he was being mocked.
“Hey, Harry. You alright, mate?” Louis put a hand on his shoulder as support. Concern in his voice, as they were finally out of the stage cameras’ line of sight and in the audience.
“Oh yeah. ‘M fine. It’s just… been a long night.” Harry muttered. Truth be told, it sort of had been. Especially, when he spotted a certain someone getting all cozy with a certain someone else.
“I know, I know. But listen, we still have that afterparty to attend so, maybe, hang on there for a moment, yeah?” He reassured him.
“Yeah. I guess I could do that.” I can’t.
To be completely honest, he had every intention to bail on the guys at the last moment because he didn’t think he could survive another few hours of the madness that was Taylor and Calvin and their constant PDA.
He groaned. But somehow, he still ended up here. Because, Niall, just about convinced him.
“Ugh, do we have to? Go, I mean.” Harry asked, practically whining.
“Harreh, stop behaving like a child and get your arse in there.” Louis bossed him. Getting out of the car.
“Yeah, Haz. Besides, I’m sure you’ll be fine. It’s only a matter of a few hours. There’s music, there’s alcohol. There’s even a photobooth.” Niall added. That last bit was only half a joke. He knew how much Harry loved goofy pictures with quirky props.
Finally, he decided to give in.
“Argh, alright, fine, fine. But just for a few hours, yeah?” There’s only so much I can handle. He got out of the car. Pressing down on his jeans and shirt.
They eventually made their way inside and were immediately hit with the scent of alcohol, the buzz of loud music and the chatter of people.
“It’s an afterparty, alright.” Louis sarcastically said, overlooking the scene.
“Let’s get this over with.” Harry frustratingly muttered as he made his way further in.
The atmosphere was in full swing and everyone seemed to be having a grand time. Glasses were clanked, conversations were made…
Much like Calvin’s hand did to Taylor’s waist every now and then. Pulling her to him.
God, why did he agree to this again? Did he seriously enjoy being tortured at the hands of his ex?
Who looked especially mesmerizing today.
Who was also here with her now boyfriend.
Harry groaned, walking to a nearby bar that was there in the hotel space they’d booked.
They. As in, Ed and Taylor. And he couldn’t help but feel bitter about how close Ed was to Taylor. He just… he felt betrayed. As dramatic as that sounded.
But every time he saw those two being all buddy-buddy, he realized he couldn’t be a part of that. Not in the same way at least.
Him and Taylor were friends now, sure. But it just… wouldn’t compare to having her like that.
“You look downright horrible, mate.” Speak of the devil. Ed Sheeran speaks up, walking up to him.
“Thanks.” Harry mumbled sarcastically, in a drunken haze, scratching the side of his forehead.
“I take it you’re not particularly thrilled to be here.” Ed said, putting his elbows on the bar counters, looking at the boy before him.
“How do you mean, Eddie? I’m absolutely delighted to be here. I’ve got drinks, my best mates who’ve gone off God knows where because they’re just that considerate, and a front row seat to watching my ex making it very clear on how happy she is with someone else and doesn’t want shit to do with me—”
“Hey, listen, listen, Harry, I— I know it’s… it’s not especially easy having to see—”
“Especially easy?! Yeah, you can say that again,” After which, he took a shot from his glass.
Ed wanted to interject and tell his best friend to slow down but he gathered he was better off not doing that. Harry usually barely got mad, so when he wasn’t in the right state of mind and jealous… he’d give him his space.
“But, anyway, she looks happy, and I want to be the last person to get in the way of that. I’ll… always want the best for her.”
“Yeah, um, right. You’re right. I’m… glad.” The redhead managed to say.
Harry looked at him with a puzzled expression. He knew his best friend too well to not know when he was trying to say something but couldn’t.
“What… what is it?” Harry looked at him, confused but with intent.
“It’s just… in all my years of friendship with Taylor, Harry, the happiest I’ve seen her is when she’s with you. Not Calvin, not Connor, you.” Ed said, not letting himself hold back.
Harry scoffs. “Yeah, right. It’s too late, anyway, there’s no point. She doesn’t care for me anymore.”
“Maybe it is but… she does care for you, mate.” Ed stated, leaning in closer.
“Really, Ed? Does she? She acts like we don’t know each other. Like… like I don’t mean anything to her. Like I never did.” He looks down at his shot-glass aimlessly.
“That’s not what she’s—” Ed was cut off.
“‘M going to go to the loo. I guess I’ll see you around.” Harry said abruptly, getting up from his seat.
He honestly did not need any more lectures from Ed. Nor did he need himself filling fantasies in his brain of him and Taylor having any sort of chance again.
He must’ve been deep into his thoughts because all of a sudden, Louis was standing in front of him, gripping his shoulders.
“You alright, Hazza? Hey, come on, let’s get you to loosen a bit on the dance floor. You need it. Plus, the music is bloody amazing.”
“Oh, now I see you. Jee, thanks a lot, Lou, for leaving me to fend for myself and when I do, your timing is impeccable.” His best friend says, letting himself be dragged to the dance floor.
“Aww, did poor Harry bear miss his best mates? Oi, don’t worry, we’re right here for you, okay? Whatever you need.” The blue eyed boy said, wrapping his arm around Harry’s shoulders, eventually messing his hair up and letting him go.
“Thanks, Lou. Means a lot.” He smiled, lightly. Then suddenly, his eyes wandered and he saw her. Across the dance floor looking oh so beautiful in her white outfit was a cheery Taylor.
She looked happy. And so beautiful.
“You’re gonna catch flies, H, if you keep staring like that with an open mouth.” Louis came by his best friend to tease knowingly.
“Shut up.” Harry said, a smile coming onto his face.
“And look who’s coming over this way…” Louis stated, looking over at Taylor.
“Fuck.” Harry muttered.
“Alright, alright, get your shit together, Harry, and stay calm.” Louis advised in a low voice.
Quickly, Harry tried to fix his hair or something.
God, why did she always make him so nervous?
“Hey, you guys! Enjoying yourselves so far?” Taylor exclaimed, coming over to the two boys, smiling at them.
“Yes! Absolutely. You’ve got quite the party set up here, haha.” Louis said, urgently. Clearly, Harry was in no mood to make conversation.
“Thank you! I tried. Do you guys need anything? Because I’ve—”
“Mind telling me where the bathroom is?” Harry piped in, dryly.
“Uh, yeah, sure. It’s right across there, actually. In fact, why don’t I just take you, I was planning on getting out for a bit anyway.” She said, cutting through the crowd to take Harry.
“You can’t be serious.” Harry mumbled to himself.
“Jesus, Harry, stop behaving like a damn child. Here me out, I’m more annoyed with her about what she did to you than you are, but she’s being nice, mate. So, play along for the time being and then we can leave, cool?” Louis lectured, again, in a bit of a rush.
“God, fine. Leave it up to me to play ‘along’.” He replied, irritated and eventually walking ahead.
“You comin’, Harry?” Taylor said, from a distance.
“Right behind you, Taylor.” He told her, cracking a short smile.
“Is… everything okay? Are you feeling alright, or—” She asked, concerned.
“I’m fine, Tay. You don’t have to worry about me.” Harry cut her off, wanting to minimize conversation because he just… couldn’t.
“C’mon, don’t be like that. Of course I worry, Harry. I care about you. You’re my friend.” Taylor reassured him, walking beside him.
Friend.
God, he wanted to punch something.
Harry had no idea what had gotten into him. He was not one to get extremely mad or jealous with or for anyone. He was a proper chill guy. And he was definitely not one to punch things or get physical.
So imagine his surprise when he finds his fists clenched on the realization that the girl he loves is stupidly oblivious about his very present feelings for her.
“Mm. I’m truly touched.” He managed to say.
His reply caught Taylor a little off guard. What did that mean? Was he being sarcastic? Did she catch a hint of irritation and strain in his voice? She knew Harry and she knew when he was holding back or being elusive.
“Are we… Are we good?” Taylor speaks up, not sure how to navigate this conversation.
“Peachy.” Harry states, not looking at her and making a cut to the bathroom.
“I’m serious, Harry. If you’re—” She says, following after him.
“We’re fine, Taylor, alright? Thanks for the help, but you should go now. Your friends and your boyfriend are probably waiting for you.” He says, icily, stepping in front of her to go in.
“What does that even mean? Why are you acting like this?” Taylor pushes, confused.
“Why am I acting like this? You’re not seriously asking me that right now?” Harry cuts in, abruptly turning towards her.
“Yeah, Harry, I am. What is the matter with you?” She challenges, coming dangerously close to him.
“Nothing. Just tired, I guess.” He shrugged, trying to go back inside but she held him back by the wrist.
“Stop pushing me away. If you have something to say to me, say it.” Taylor said, a little softly this time.
Harry sighed. Part of him wanted to confront her. Bad. To ask her what the reason was. Why did she push him away? But then his practical side decided that would be extremely stupid. And emotionally draining.
“No. No, I have nothing to say.” With that, he left the conversation.
Taylor, frustrated, made her way back into the party.
God, he’s so irritating!
She stopped for a second and tried to calm herself.
He still knew how to get on her nerves (even if he wasn’t, intentionally). Which buttons to push.
This was ridiculous, she was at an afterparty after a successful awards night, with her friends and… and her boyfriend. Her date. She deserved to have fun and not be annoyed by an ex who couldn’t work out what he wanted.
But it was Harry.
Not thinking any further, she went back in, trying to keep her composure.
Harry went back into the party shortly after. Trying to sneak past any of Taylor’s friends, so as to not get weird side eyes, which he was sure he would be subjected to.
“And then he ripped me off! For a bourbon, for God’s sake.” He heard a high-pitched voice say in an Irish accent.
He made his way over to the bar and sure enough, there he was. Niall bloody Horan.
“Harry! There you are!” Niall exclaimed.
“If it isn’t my jolly ol’ pal, Niall Horan!” Harry retorted, dryly.
“Well, you don’t seem to be in very high spirits.” Niall replied, confused.
“Thanks, I’ve been getting that a lot tonight.” He went on to say, running a hand through his hair.
Niall stood up to have a bit of a more intimate conversation with his fellow band member.
“And I’m guessing this has to do with a certain blondie in the gathering today?” Niall sarcastically asked.
“Mm. I’m just tired, alright? You think there’s any chance I could take a cab and head back?” Harry deflected.
“Now? But we’re just about to take pictures in the photo-booth!” He pointed to the photobooth, surprised by Harry’s statement.
“I don’t think it’s a—”
“Oh cut the crap, Harry. You really need to stop being such a killjoy. Louis, Ed, guys, come here!” Niall gestured for all the boys to come their way.
Brilliant.
All of them turned their heads. They looked toward Niall and Harry and quickly made their way toward them.
Harry could tell from a distance that Ed was gesturing for Taylor to join them.
Good God.
Once they had come over, Calvin included, much to Harry’s dismay, Harry gave Niall a look, with which Niall responded with a sympathetic one.
“Alright! How about we all have some drinks from the bar together and then we can catch some pictures!” Niall announced.
“What are you doing? Exactly?” He asked, annoyed.
“Relax, lad, I’m telling you, this is exactly what you need.” Niall said, patting his shoulder.
Harry gave him an irritated stare before going over to Louis.
“Heyya, Harry!” Louis said, grabbing a glass of vodka from the bar.
“Hi.” His best friend replied, sitting beside him.
“So, how’d it go with… Taylor?” He inquired, looking over at the girl who seemed to be doing fine.
“It was… okay. I mean, she could sense that I wasn’t… I wasn’t completely fine with her but it’s kind of surprising that she’s acting like this. I mean, did she just conveniently forget what she pulled with me — with our relationship? Just because we’d agreed to be friends through the whole fiasco, doesn’t mean she should expect me to be happy about it.” Harry ranted, in a low voice.
“Well, did you ask her?”
“Uh, no. I didn’t. I didn’t really get into it, even though she was insisting I tell her, but honestly she should know. Like she has no idea that she cut me off so she and her DJ boy over there  don’t have to deal with this.” He continued, looking down, then pointing at his back towards them.
“Come on, Harry. I think you really should talk. It’s about time. I mean, the entire reason you’re in this mess is because you refused to communicate. Don’t make the same mistake again and lose the friendship.” Louis made him understand.
“Yeah, mate, but shouldn’t she be making the amends? She’s the one that stopped talking and now she’s the one acting oblivious? How’s that fair?” He reasoned.
“I’ll have a Diet Coke and Vodka, if that’s okay? Thank you.” Remarked a voice from the back.
Harry turned around and sure enough there she was.
“Taylor.” He said, in a state of confusion.
“Harry.” She stated, smiling.
“How um, how long have you been standing there, exactly?” Harry asked, hesitantly.
“Not long. Just wanted to get a drink.”
“Right.”
Neither of them said anything for a moment. A beat passed and then Taylor spoke up.
“Hey, listen, Harry, I wanted to… well I thought that we should, you know, talk things thr—”
“HARRY!” A celebrity exclaimed, walking over.
“Oh, hey!” He greeted her.
Taylor looked up and saw.
Kendall Jenner.
Who was making her way closer here.
“Hi! How’s the party?” She inquired.
“‘S good. Having a good time, I guess.”
Taylor got frustrated. Of course, right when I was about to make conversation with him.
“Hey, Taylor!” Kendall greeted, with a smile.
Harry turned his neck to look at her when he heard no response and when he did, she looked lost in thought.
Dazed almost.
“Tay?” He softly asked, tapping her with his finger.
“Hm, yeah? Oh, oh yeah! Uh, hi! Hi, Ken! Sorry, I just… lost myself for a second there.” Taylor went on, registering the greeting sweetly.
“You good?” Harry asked, concerned. He wasn’t exactly jumping at the opportunity to talk to Taylor right now because of… well, you know. But he couldn’t stop himself from being worried about her.
“Ha, yeah, of course! Like I said, just got a little … lost in thought. But I’m fine. Good. Great, even. Um. Yeah, listen, you two chat, I’ll just… be there, having a drink.” She pointed at her back, awkwardly chuckling.
With Calvin. Harry bitterly finished for her.
“Alright, bye!” Kendall replied, amusingly.
Growing more annoyed by the minute, she went over to the other side again, not wanting to third wheel this clearly very animated conversation Harry seemed to be having with Kendall Jenner in the first minute, than he’d had with her the entire time they were there.
She had nothing against Kendall, she truly liked her. Well, as much as she could. She’d made her part of the so-called “Taylor Swift squad” and all that.
But there were moments… moments like these when she plain annoyed her with her antics and especially right now when she was reminded that oh, yeah, they dated the same guy.
“How’ve you been? Didn’t see you earlier, did you come straight after the awards or?” Kendall asked.
“Uh, yeah, more or less. Took a bit of a detour on the way, so, sort of came later.” He explained.
Taylor glanced back to the other side of the bar.
God, they were still talking. And he was smiling too.
He hadn’t even cracked a semblance of a smile her way all night. That sweet, boyish, crooked smile.
No. All the frowns were saved for her tonight. Put in her share.
But get him talking to little Miss Kendall Jenner, his other ex girlfriend, he’s just a little ball of sunshine and carefree fucking joy.
“Babe, are you okay?” Calvin asked, bringing her back from her thoughts.
“Yeah. Yeah, it’s just… I think the drink is really taking its effect.” She chuckled, trying to come up with an excuse.
Because, if she was honest, she wasn’t even sure what had gotten her so worked up in the span of minutes.
Or maybe she did. She just wasn’t willing to admit it.
“You’ve had two drinks, sweetheart.” He replied, smiling at her.
“What can I say? I’m a lightweight.”
“—No, we totally bought it! It was like a pretty big buck but… who cares, haha.” Kendall continued talking.
“No way! That’s so wicked!” Harry replied.
“Right? You know…we could totally re-explore some of our previous photos on the boat again. Wasn’t it just so much fun last time?” She said, bringing her drink to her lips.
Harry stopped and stood there for a second. Instead he gave out a nervous chuckle and quickly began to say something so as to not make her feel bad.
“Um, well, I am not—”
“Heyy, guys! You two seem to be in the party groove, hahaha. Having a… a good— time?” Taylor managed to say, a little bit tipsy, cutting Harry off.
“Are you… drunk?” He raised his eyebrow, concerned.
“No… but I think I’m definitely going to get there if I have a few more drinks so, Mr Bartender could I please have a—”
“—No.” Harry firmly said.
“No?” Taylor looked back at him, an annoying expression on her face.
“No, Tay, you’re already tipsy, and I don’t think— I don’t think you need anymore.” He finished.
Kendall frowned slightly, weirded out by the conversation.
“And just why do you feel the need to think about what I need and come up and tell me that like you’re handing out some sort of demand? Besides, weren’t you giving me the cold shoulder tonight, anyway? I thought you didn’t care what I did.” She vented, looking at him.
The music was loud and she had spoken in a medium tone so, it wasn’t totally a blowout.
“Taylor, I—”
“—No, just forget it, Harry, okay? I’d hate to make this about me because clearly, you’re the one who’s mad at me here, but…” Taylor said, walking a little ways away from the party, Harry hot, on her trail.
“But?” He asked, coming closer.
“But—”
“—hey! Babe, where’d you go?” Calvin remarked, coming — from what Harry could tell — out of nowhere.
“Oh! Hey, Adam. I was just… getting some air.” Taylor replied, leaning into him.
“Okay. Well, do you want to head back to the party or do you want to…” he pointed at Harry.
“Ahh, no. By all means, don’t let me hold you back.” Harry held up his hands and watched them leave, affectionate, explicitly demonstrative demeanour and all.
A/N: because it was requested, I thought i’d post it 🤭 this is in no way meant to be disrespectful to either harry or taylor. just a work of fiction. constructive feedback would be amazing ! ty <3
ps: part 2 or nah?

You’re an Idiot, Eddie Munson
Summary - Eddie Munson needs a little motivation to study. Luckily enough, he gets it.
GN!Reader (no pronouns used!) x Eddie Munson
Category - Fluff but we get a little angsty <3
TW - Insinuation of 18+ content (No application!)
Please let me know if I missed anything!
Author’s Note - Yes, I was inspired by that scene with Nancy and Steve from The Vanishing of Will Byers and I did, in fact, spiral from there. I will also openly admit that this is not proofread but that I do intend to proofread it tomorrow. I am about to pass out, I apologize in advance if I miss anything for the time being.
Tumblr media
"Wait," I pause, jutting my hip out to hold Eddie's front door open, "your uncle is not home, right?"
"Of course not, sweetheart," he answers. Walking closer, he leans in and mumbles against my neck, "Why? Were you hoping for something?"
"Was I hoping that maybe you might actually focus on why I am here this time?" I ask as I push him off of me, "Yeah, I was."
He grabs my waist and pulls me flush against him, fitting perfectly between his parted legs. He grins smugly as he whispers to me, "What fun is that?"
I chuckle along in good humour before pulling my face back to look him in the eye, "None... but at least you'll make it to graduation."
He pouts when I wink at him, walking away down the hall.
When I do not hear any following footsteps, I grab onto the doorframe to his room and turn to face him.
"C'mon, honey," his pout saddens me, "I made you personalized flashcards!"
He cannot help but grin when he sees my enthusiasm. Clearly, this is a special gift, maybe not his favorite type but it is from me and it is very obviously an exclusive present. He reaches out his hand to meet mine, finally caving to the inevitable.
Tumblr media
"Eddie," I groan, dropping my hand, flashcards and all, to my lap.
"What?" He responds, a little defensive as he turns to face me.
"I know she's gorgeous and all but I need you to focus."
He pouts again as he strums the strings of his guitar, hanging prettily on his wall.
"But she's calling to me," he whines.
"So am I," I glare at him expectantly.
His hands fly to his head, tangling in his long locks.
"I'm torn," He whimpers, and he is, very obviously. His indecisiveness is absolutely rampant on his features.
"Stop making this so hard," I squeal, burying my face in his pillow.
"What do you mean?" He swoops down to the bed in immediate concern.
"I wanna give you what you want," I frown deeply, looking up at him where he hovers above me.
"Then..." he pauses for dramatic effect, sticking his bottom lip out, "do."
"I said I want to," I correct, hitting him with a sad smile, "not that I can."
"Why not?" He is clearly distraught over this choice.
"We have to study," This does not go over well.
"Why?" He whines.
"Because, Eddie," I exclaim, suddenly sitting up.
"Because why?"
"Because when I walk the stage this month, I want you to come with!"
The words swoop out of my mouth without my permission and I immediately regret them. His smirk is wiped, a dumbfounded look replacing it.
"Is that really how you feel?" He asks, voice soft as he looks at his hands.
"I mean..." I hesitate, my guilt is sweating off me in waves, "yeah. It would be nice."
"Okay," he huffs, an air of solid, decisive rigidity suddenly about him.
"Hit me," Eddie reaches for the cards I previously dropped, shoving them in my hands.
Tumblr media
"Eds, hang on," I request, stopping his arm as it reaches for the third stack of rubber band-wrapped flashcards.
"What? What's up?" He quickly interrogates, hair bouncing in his haste to face me.
"'What's up?' What's up with you? You have not asked if you can get up for a beer for two hours. You always want one when we study."
He smiles to himself, glad I know him so well.
"I just want to respect what you want," The puppy dog eyes he gives me could melt my heart right then and there, "I want that, too. I know I need to try harder if I want..."
The tone of his voice as it trails scares me.
"Hey," I reach for Eddie's chin, pulling him up, "talk to me."
"I don't want you to get... I don't want you to realize you could do better than a metalhead three-time super senior with no prospects. I need to do something to fix this."
"Hey, hey," I grasp his cheeks, knowing he misunderstood, "that's not- even... Eddie, I-"
I stop to take a breath, "That is never what I would think of you. I love you, Eddie, exactly as you are now. I just want good things for you and... this will be a good thing for both of us."
"I know," he smiles and I relax when it meets his eyes.
"You thought I could ever stop loving you? God, you're an idiot, Eddie Munson."
I hope it is not too early for the jest; as a grin overtakes all his features, I breathe easier.
"You are gorgeous, Y/N Y/L/N."

dropping some thoughts about vida here
i started watching this show for melissa barrera and i absolutely enjoyed it and have rewatched some episodes bc it's very entertaining
s3 felt kind of different, it was almost like the sisters switched roles at some points
i might be reading too much into it, but in the first few eps as emma and nico's relationship was going well i would look at emma's face and be like she's happy but she's still waiting for the other shoe to drop, and of course it did. and i was so sad to see her clam up again and fall back into her whole "vulnerability = weakness" thing. for a few episodes she just looked so dead inside like she was seriously depressed and triggered with everything going on, like nico's secret wife and her awful dad making himself known
i love lyn so much but i need her to be single. i'm so glad she finally realized where her true priorities lie and that she needs to work on turning into a chameleon with the men in her life but i just hate that it happened in the last like 20 minutes of the series finale
side note but i was not expecting lyn to get so into religion for a hot minute. i mean i understand that it was her yet again molding herself to the people in her life, so i think she snapped out of it once her father showed his true colors but still like it was so jarring. god the man gave me such awful vibes and the last scene of him and emma after she confronted him was legitimately hard to watch
the sisters spent so much time apart and on different pages this season it made me sad :( i completely understand why but i do miss the moments in the first episode or in earlier seasons when they were sisterly and messing with each other
i love that mari had some more time this season to build herself up a little more and yes this is cruel to say but her dad dying is a blessing ! now she can finally look after herself and find people who appreciate what she does. honestly that man pretty much killed himself after he kicked out the only child who actually took care of him. ladies ask not what u can do for machismo but what machismo can do for u
speaking of this family i can't STAND johnny oh my GOD get off my screen and get away from the women in ur life all u do is hurt them
god i wish this new generation of shows had longer seasons. a 6 episode season is nowhere near enough to develop the characters and storylines better (even tho this season the episodes weren't all 30 min like s1 and s2). i was like holy shit things are happening so fast it's one terrible thing after the other but of course they are, they only have like 5 hours to tell the story!!
i'm really fond of this show and how witty it is, its integration of mexican and american and mexican-american cultures, the spanglish, the butch rep!! everything
actually one of my favorite moments this season was when lyn was talking to that european dude at her bf's mom's bday party (fuck her bf and his mom by the way holy shit he was such a weirdo) and she was talking about how difficult it is to be perceived as mexican by gringos while still not being mexican enough for mexicans. when she said she couldn't even hold a conversation in english or spanish i was like u read my mind. i'm literally incoherent. anyway it really resonated with me as an immigrant and i think it's such an important conversation to have!!
anyway emma and lyn repaired their relationship and their bigoted father is rotting in hell and they keep the bar and eddy's back too and everything is going better than ever, they told me so themselves <3

Story: 5 out of 5 Smut: 5 out of 5
This is my first Harley Laroux book… and I LOVED it! It was interesting to see how the dynamic between Manson, Lucas, Vincent, and Jason worked, and I kind of regret not reading “The Dare” beforehand, but I think this book answers any questions you might have about that night.
I liked that these young men have had a crush on Jessica all these years, and vice versa, and that Jessica is finally letting her guard down and doing what she wants. Because seriously, that revenge scene against Alex, Danielle, Nate and all those other backstabbing jerks… perfection!
The cliffhanger wasn’t too bad, but I’m anxious to know how they’re going to deal with Manson’s violent father being back, and what exactly is going to go down when Jessica doesn’t owe them a debt anymore.
I need to crack open book two asap.
Now enjoy my thoughts throughout the book...
* So the cheerleader made out with the freak. I’m getting Eddie/Chrissy vibes lol
* Kyle is also giving Jason vibes. Fuck this dude already. I don’t like that he’s setting up Manson to be jumped.
* Oh so we started in high school for the first chapter and then jumped to after high school in chapter two..? Okay then.
* Another two year time jump for chapter three.. I like that the characters are being aged up haha.
* Lmao. Jessica would run into two of the boys while washing cars for a church. Oh god, yes! At least they know she’s back in town now.
* Lmao. They got the best car wash they ever could have hoped for 😂
* Goddamn. Vincent and Jason… okayyyy, I see you 😏
* Ugh. Seriously? Kyle’s buddies still act like they’re in high school? Gross.
* The tension between Jessica, Manson, Vincent, Jason, and Lucas. Holy hell.
* So the girl Jessica’s ex cheated on her with is now into bad boys and interested in Lucas? Let the girl drama begin.
* Oh I’m so glad Lucas won that race.
* Alex is a little bitch boy. They should have shot him. And Jessica!! You’re a goddamn fool.
* Wow. Fuck Jessica for going along with those “friends” of hers. I hope the boys make her grovel for what they did to the cars.
* Dammnnnnn. These boys are the “fuck around and find out” type 😏
* Uh oh. Using her body to pay off the debt she owes them for fixing her car… this isn’t going to end well.
* Jesus… Lucas making her give him a show with her vibrator.. 🥵
* Omg. Lucas and Manson were fucking around when they “broke into” Jessica’s place. Holy shit.. that entire scene..
* lmao. Lucas is not an aftercare dude. He was so awkward before settling in.
* So Manson’s dad is back in town? This isn’t going to go well, is it?
* Jesus Christ, Vincent! I’m with Jessica. I thought you were the sweet one 😂 You little fucking sadist.
* Cat girls lmfao. I can’t with Jason right now.
* They got her cum-drunk. Holy shit. What even is this book?! And now Jason and Manson are totally fucked. They’re in deep.
* Damn. Manson found out his dad was back in town on his own. He’s really spooked by that asshole, huh?
* Road head 😏
* Jesus… this book is pure filth. I love it.
* Manson’s dad is freaking me out- the way he grabbed Jessica? Oh hell no.
* Lmfaoooo. Yessss! Jason fucking Jessica while Alex could hear..? That’s my new favorite scene 😂
* Damn, Manson. You really cut your name into her ass cheek, huh? 😏
* Oh I’m so glad she finally stood up to Danielle! Fuck that backstabbing bitch. And the boys got their revenge!!!
* Lmfao. She took out Lucas first in paintball and now he’s pissed. He’s definitely gonna fuck her, I just hope he pulls in his temper.
* Bent over the school desk. I’m here for it lol.
* God. Manson’s dad is a dick. Can he just die if alcohol poisoning or something?
* Goddamn. I’m not normally a fan of MM scenes, but there’s just something about Manson and Lucas getting it on that is.. 🥵
* Oohhhhh. They plan to kidnap Jess and bring her fantasy to life..? WHERE’S BOOK 2?!

final 911 thoughts…
k tommy’s entrance in 7x03 kinda slayed ngl. the fake static LMAO
“i’d follow your hunches any day” “it’s cap and athena let them fire us” IM CRYING IN THE CLUB
eddie’s incredulous happy little laugh when they saw the flare <3
this show is at its best when 1) it’s about the inherent goodness of humanity and how everyone deserves to be saved, 2) when the members of the 118 are in Situations, 3) when they r all a happy family, and 4) when they are flagrantly disobeying orders to save the people they love
TJE BACHELOR HAHAHDHHSHSHHSHAHAHAH
u don’t understand how funny this is to me (person who watched the most recent bachelorette live) (CHARITY AND DOTUN <3)
making buck bi in the bachelor episode literally the greatest thing they have ever done.
I LOVE MADDIE CHIMNEY AND JOSH TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO THE BACHELOR IS DHDJKDD
scream at joey’s face when the contestants proposition buck and eddie

chimney pretty much summed it up and maddie was so right…love u madney
maddie’s hilarious for being like yeah buck i understand where ur coming from i also made desperate bids for my friend’s attention. when i was a 14 year old girl.
“so stop acting like one” YEAH LMAO
END OF 7x04. WOWWW THAT WAS A LOT
you’d think seeing half of this in gifsets would’ve desensitized me to it. but it hasn’t.
this would have been the perfect opportunity to have tommy talk about how he regrets his behaviour during the begins episodes and talk more about his friendships with hen and chimney??
tommy. BUCK!!!!!!!
scream.
um im sorry i cant blame tommy for leaving buck at the curb after that hot chicks comment. and then the “bro”??? im in agony.
i thought u guys were joking this is marisol’s like fourth appearance on screen and we’ve barely heard her speak let alone seen her interact with eddie but he “really likes her” and they’re moving in together? um excuse me??? Because @blazinghotfoggynights suggested a scene I just had to incorporate in my WIP I previewed here...
It's placeholder name in my files is literally Buddie Alpha Omega Diaz Pup (this is WIP preview 2)
Buck can't believe how right it feels every time he walks in the door to what is now their home. Going home to his omega and son always had a smile forming on the alpha's face and a warm feeling in chest. He had always believed that the most important thing he could feel as an alpha was pride. That is what his dad and his coaches always said. Pride felt good. It might be important to most alphas, but it was nothing compared to what Buck felt now. Days like this made him feel bad for those pride focused alphas. Because nothing hit Buck harder or made him feel more alive than coming home to his pack, his family. He felt so much love the alpha thinks that life can't get better. He thinks that, but every time he finds out he is wrong. It was early and the house was quiet. It had been a long shift and it was worse when they worked different shifts. He had worked at the station before Eddie had joined the team, but it was different now. The two of them were partners. In anything and everything even before they got together. Not having Eddie there was like someone had taken away half of what made him good at his job. The omega would argue Buck was always good at his job. He didn't need Eddie for that. But Buck was always better when Eddie was there. Bobby had reminded him he'd have to get used to it. Eddie could take up to a year off. Even if he knew it was for the best, Buck knew he wouldn't like it. Buck’s thoughts circle back to what started his mind on this track when after checking in on a sleeping Christopher he makes his way to the room he and Eddie share. And Buck has never felt anything like the sheer amount of love he feels when he sees Eddie. Eddie looks adorable, something Eddie will never admit he is, bundled in what is basically a nest of blankets and Buck’s clothes. He knew it was a thing omegas did, especially pregnant ones, but seeing it when it's your omega. It's beautiful. The alpha moves as silently as possible. Eddie was a light sleeper usually, and sometimes just the change of having Buck's fresh scent in the air was enough to wake him on bad nights when he came in. But the omega must be exhausted, or maybe just really comfy, to sleep this deep. He was glad he had showered at the station before he left. He quickly gets ready and carefully moves to join his omega. Which the alpha isn't surprised finally wakes his sleeping partner.
“Just me,” Buck assures him and the affect is instantaneous. Eddie just hums as what little tension the disturbance caused vanishes..most of them at least. The omega reaches out to pull the alpha towards him. Buck chuckles at the way Eddie scents him once Buck is nestled in. The barely awake omega burying his face in his lover’s neck before quickly falling back asleep. Buck has no complaints. Eddie is tucked tight against him and they would stay that way for a few more hours. Then, begrudgingly, the alpha would have to let go so Eddie could get Christopher ready for school. At least Buck would know Eddie had a partial good night's rest.
When Buck got up it was late morning. Christopher was already at school.
“Morning,” Eddie said when Buck walked into the kitchen. “How'd the shift go?” Eddie silently waited and watched with amusement as Buck shrugged and got a cup of coffee. “One of those mornings, huh?” Eddie grinned.
He was answered by the alpha draining half the hot drink and then making his way over to where Eddie was leaned against the counter. The alpha buried his face in the omega neck.
“That bad?” Eddie chuckles. The omega's fingers card through the taller man’s hair.
“Shifts are too long,” Buck says, half mumbled in Eddie's shoulder and neck. Eddie smiles and nods. He gets that. Sometimes a shift could drag on even if it had plenty of calls to deal with. It was the down time that get you.
“Missed you too,” Eddie says. That has the alpha pulling back so he can probably kiss him. “Hungry?” Eddie asks when they pull apart and Buck goes for the rest of his caffeine fix. Eddie laughs at the nod and mumbled “yes, please,” and “starving”, from the alpha. Eddie might not be the best cook but he had made extra pancakes from a mix he and Chris, thanks to Carla, had long ago discovered could be made during his off days. The mix could be made in pancakes and frozen or just save them having to do it every day. Because they couldn't survive off cereal alone. Not when Chris was growing like a weed and Eddie worked a physically intense job. Occasionally, they'd do waffles or something special, but today had been a pancake day. So getting the alpha's ready was easy.
Buck watched Eddie make the one meal the omega had confidence in making.

Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Female Original Character
Summary: Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Montgomery is stuck in Hawkins, Indiana after a family tragedy shakes her world upside down. Done with the overbearing pressure to be popular, the senior ex-cheerleader finds solace in Hellfire Club, especially their Dungeon Master.
Navigating falling in love for the first time, overcoming grief and getting thrown into a supernatural world where something or someone seems to be hunting her down, Gabby has a lot to deal with during senior year.
Notes: First fanfic ever. *scared* I am sorry if there are grammar errors (English is not my native language) or if it simply is a piece of shit. I am very sad about the Eddie ‘situation’ in Stranger Things so I decided to write my own version of what that sunshine fluff ball deserves.
Please show love or guide this padawan through the fanfiction universe.
CHAPTER ONE
The sunlight across the window burned her eyes, causing her to close them aggressively. The bus drove fast, making her sweat from the scorching heat but also from anxiety. They were about to cross the Indiana state border, all the way from Tennessee, where she had hopped on. Gabrielle glanced at the clock in her right wrist, confirming seven hours spent inside that smelly bus. She felt movement at her side, from a middle aged woman enthralled by a magazine containing the latest gossip, ultimately pressing Gab’s body harder against the window, much to her dislike.
Gabrielle was traveling down to Hawkins, a small town in Indiana, to live with her Grandfather August for her senior year, although she lived - or had lived - in Tennessee, alongside her parents and older brother. Tears threatened her eyes, not unusual these days, but she successfully contained them, not wanting to cause a scene inside the bus.
It was now mid-August, which meant she should have been enjoying the long days of summer, helping her mother with her veterinary work… or maybe they would have gone camping or she could have been helping her brother settle down in New York. She remembered afternoon sweet tea on the porch, neighbours coming for barbecues, horror movies with her Dad and Aaron.
A memory from the crash jolted her senses, driving her momentarily incapacitated. She performed the breathing exercises her dad taught before for panic attacks. ‘Gabby, inhale slowly and exhale…Don’t let it dominate you, you’re the one in control.’ He reassured her every single time. But sometimes it was difficult to remain in control, especially when the accident reminisced inside her head.
In the beginning of July, her parents, herself and Aaron had decided to go on a trip to New York to search for houses for him to live in, since he was going to college there. They left for the airport on a Saturday afternoon, after her regional cheerleading competition, when a truck hit them sideways full speed, not stopping at a stop sign. Time seemed to stop during the strong impact. She couldn’t remember much else, besides spinning several times, ultimately awoken by Aaron, who unfastened her seatbelt, and pushed her body towards the broken window, while he remained with his legs smashed against the seat and the truck’s weight. Her parents seemingly had died instantly, but her brother’s suffering haunted her, conscious, not able to escape or be released. He finally passed away on the way to the hospital. Gabrielle was just recollecting his crying while she screamed outside the car, when the bus suddenly came to a stop.
“Hawkins, Indiana. All passengers for Hawkins, Indiana may leave now. Thank you. Next stop:…” Here she was, in this hell hole of a town, away from home. She got up, obligated to push the lady aside to get off, extended her arms to grab for the huge duffel bag and made her way down the stairs, glad to breathe fresh air after a long time. The bus stop was located on main street, where she looked around and spotted a diner, a clothing store, general store, the post office, among other small services. Her grandfather was nowhere to be seen. She walked around, noticing people’s stares, conjuring ideas of who she was and what she was doing in Hawkins.
She walked through the suburban neighborhood, all very similar to the last time she had come here to visit, when she spotted her grandpa’s house at the end of a cul-de-sac. A charming white picket fence house with a porch engulfed in flowers, still there after Grandma Jean had passed away 2 years ago. On the swing there was a tall man seated, with a newspaper spread out on his hands. He turned right as Gabrielle’s sandals approached, a sad tired smile forming over his thin wrinkled lips.
‘Honey, you’re home!’ Gab welcomed the warm familiar feeling of her Grandpa as he hugged her. She quickly noticed the sharp pain in his face as the one she identified on her own when she stared at the mirror.
‘I’m here Grandpa.’ she sniffed, unable to control herself much more.
‘I am so sorry for driving you out of Tennessee but I am so old, this has been my house for decades… Don't be angry at me for making you come here please. ’ She cleaned the tears forming in her eyes, entering the house.
‘I’m not angry, I just… It’s weird leaving Tennessee, Dad’s farm.’
‘Are your other grandparents taking care of it?’ She nodded affirmatively. Her mom’s parents were very different from Grandpa August and Grandma Jean, they had a lot of money so they employed people to keep the farm running and decided it was better for Gabrielle to spend a year away, but since they lived in Maine they thought it would be best to live closer with Grandpa August in Hawkins, until Gabrielle finished high school and became independent.
‘How are you holding up? Have you been sleeping?’ No, she thought. She frequently relived the accident when she tried to sleep throughout the night so she normally spent hours ravaging Aaron’s metal cassettes on her walkman, or reading her brother’s D&D’s campaigns and fantasy books until eventually succumbing to an extreme state of tiredness there is no way she would dream.
‘Much better actually.’ Liar. ‘And you, how are you?’ Her grandpa kept his stoic face in place. ‘Better than yesterday.’ Both liars and both knew it.
After some time talking a bit more, an effort Grandpa played out since he wasn’t much of a talker unless Grandma Jean had been around, she was taken to her new room or, in other words, her dad’s old room. She unpacked, organized her clothes, toiletries, the cassettes and notebooks she brought from Aaron’s room. Finally, she took out a picture of the four of them standing in front of their farm, smiling, content, happy. She paid attention to her stupid face, all sunshine and careless, dressed in a baby blue dress her mom had bought her. She had been so stupid, worried about being liked by everyone in school, partaking in every single club, being class president. She regretted everything now, especially cheerleading. Aaron was so right about everything, how cruel her friends were to poor, unpopular people. How they used to act out in school like they were part of some VIP club, so above everyone else. How she got along with everyone, polite and nice just for her perfect image. It had been for nothing, got her nothing. None of her friends cared enough when her family passed away, they came around once or twice for condolences but quickly went on with their summer activities and parties. The ones who kept her company and made sure she wasn’t alone or had food were Aaron’s friends, whom her ‘friends’ absolutely disliked. Some people spoke behind their backs because Aaron and the rest of the gang had a peculiar style. But, in reality, they just hang at Gab’s house, listening to metal, play cards and Dungeon and Dragons.
‘Hey, brunette Barbie, wanna join us in our deadly quest against the zombie army of popularity?’ They knew her since she was a baby so she knew they weren’t being mean, they understood she was different from them. But she enjoyed their D&D campaigns the best and hung out with them, listening to the wonderful stories and characters they created, always with the purpose of letting good prevail over evil. It haunt her that the popular crowd at school asked her if she was turning into a weirdo like her older brother, her best friend Sheila even dared pushing her into one stall in the girls bathroom one day and warn her that she needed to give Aaron and the boys the cold shoulder because people were starting to notice and it would jeopardize all she had ‘accomplished, especially cheerleading’. Gabrielle felt numb and had no idea how to respond to that, what had one thing to do with the other? When she arrived home that day and stepped into Aaron’s room, listening to her secretly favorite song by Iron Maiden ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, she brought up what had been happening and the conversation earlier with Sheila.
‘So, you’re going to pretend you don’t know me and the guys? That’s it?’ He kept playing with a pencil, turning it round and round over his two fingers, his green eyes feral and hurt.
‘No! I would never do that but I just don’t understand why…’’ He brushed his mid-shoulder dark brown hair backwards, frustrated.
‘Listen Gabby, I am not going to tell you what to do because you’re a big girl. These people, they suck, they don’t know anything besides being a bunch of snobs who hang at the country club. They see themselves as the norm and anyone who lightly deviates from that line, from their so-called perspective of normality is a danger solely by existing. I know you have good friends like Sheila, who’s worried about you in her own way, but is this all you want? To be pretty and shake your pom poms, have a perfect GPA, be known as Miss Sympathy? You love D&D and hanging out with us, I know you do, you actually even like some music I listen to, right? ’ He chuckled at the last bit when she rolled her eyes.
‘I mean, you can be a nice girl, a cheerleader and still love Judas Priest. Those fuckers are the ones who simply decided you have to be A or B. Don’t let them shape you, that’s my advice.’ Gab got up from his bed and hugged him fiercely, so happy she had him for a big brother. It was the last time she ever did.
An accident that never would have happened if she didn’t go to that stupid cheerleading competition. Sharp pain ate her in her when she thought how it all could have been prevented hadn’t she go, had she never been part of that cheer squad that she didn’t even like. It had all been her fault. They were all dead because of her.
Gabrielle woke from the memory, realizing she had been sitting on the bed for quite some time, noticing it was dusk outside, the last few rays of sun piercing the window, dust particles flowing around the room in a disorganized dance. She glanced one last time at the family photo, vowing in Aaron’s name that this time it would be different, she would remain true to herself and strong, whatever or whomever came in her way. ‘I love you’.

For the Buddie prompts my little angsty heart immediatelyyyy perked up at “Leave me alone” and “I needed you” 🥺
Hi hi!! Thanks so much for the prompt! I'd love to do more so if anyone has ideas totally send them my way!(See my last post for some examples and ideas)
And thank you to my friend Risa for reading this over for me!!
It happened on a Tuesday. Buck entered the station fifteen minutes late, something rare for him. The team was seated upstairs, except Eddie who had stood over the balcony the second he heard the sounds of Buck's footsteps down below. His face looked pensive, like he was trying to get a read on Buck from above.
Buck made it up the last step after changing, his shoulders hunched. He looked like he barely slept. The team followed him with their eyes as he poured himself a cup of coffee.
"Hey, Buck? You aren't usually so late, is everything okay?" Bobby asked gently. Usually he was one to scold his team for tardiness, but he could sense this was different. Buck also wasn't one to be late. Buck was quiet as he put the coffee pot back and started adding to his mug.
He hummed. "Guess so."
The team exchanged glances, each having some sort of silent conversation. Buck drank half of his coffee before heading downstairs to start on his chores, looking for a distraction of any kind.
He proceeded to avoid talking to anyone about the whole thing, not wanting to get into it right now. Or ever for that matter. He worked efficiently on calls, and to a stranger Buck seemed perfectly fine.
Eddie knew better.
Eddie wanted nothing more than to confront Buck. Not now, he told himself, instead pushing on as he looked at his best friend longingly. He wished to smooth a thumb under his eyes and wipe away the dark smudges there. To kiss his birthmark gently until he felt better.
Their last call of the day went badly. The type of call that has everyone silent and still on the ride home. Car accident with a mom and her two kids. All DOA.The gruesome scene had left them all with a  sort of haunted look in their eyes as they hopped out of the truck, going to wash up and head home.
Eddie was glad that he had a scheduled movie night with Buck and Chris, it would be good for them to spend time with each other. Eddie was heading to the locker room when Buck passed him on his way out. Eddie's brows furrowed at how quickly he was leaving. "Hey-" Eddie gently grabbed Buck's arm which made him flinch a bit. Eddie slowly let go. "Hey, you are still coming over for movie night, right?"
Buck rubbed at his neck, adjusting the bag on his shoulder. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, sorry, I'll be there. See you later."Before Eddie could think of a reply, Buck was already walking away.. He stood there for a moment to watch his retreating form before finally going to change and head home.
Usually on their movie nights, Eddie got home and ordered food. Buck often wasn’t far behind with a six-pack of beer. Tonight, like any other night, Eddie stepped inside and found his son. He hugged Chris extra tight, kissing his curls gently. Finally, he sent him to finish homework while he ordered food. Twenty minutes passed, and there was no Buck in sight. Eddie frowned a bit as he checked his phone, no new messages. Traffic most likely. Even if Buck left before him. Definitely traffic.
Then the food arrived. Eddie was disappointed that the man at the door wasn't Buck.
To: Buck 6:47pm
Hey man...you on your way?
Eddie chewed his nail as he took the food out and placed it on the table. He had ordered from Buck's favorite Italian place. "Chris? Wash your hands please," he called to his son, trying to ease the growing knot in his stomach.
From: Buck 7:18pm
sorry. can't make it
"Dad! Do you think Buck will want to watch Brother Bear?" Chris called from the living room where he was now picking out a movie. Eddie quickly felt his worry turn to anger.  Buck was standing them up.The frustration built as he recalled their day and Buck’s behavior. He should have known by the way that Buck avoided his eyes at the station that he was lying.
Eddie tamped down the swirl of emotions and took a deep breath, rounding the corner into the living room to face his son. "Chris, hey bud. Uh, Buck isn't going to make it tonight," Eddie said as he took a seat next to him.
Chris' shoulders slumped at the words. He looked back at the screen where he was hovering over the play button, dropping the remote on the couch and getting up.
"I'm going to work on my project," Chris said before excusing himself. Eddie completely forgot that Buck had offered to help Chris finish it up tonight. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, sinking into the couch and staring at the TV. Eddie really needed this tonight. Just like Chris did. He knew Buck did too.
Which is why the next  morning after Eddie dropped Chris off at school, he stopped at Buck’s loft. He didn’t bother to knock as he used his key to unlock the door and let himself in.
“Buck?” he called as he shut the door behind him. He started up the stairs, listening for any sounds. When he reached the top he was met with the sight of Buck curled in the middle of his bed, his hand smoothed over a tiny LAFD onesie. His eyes were open and red as his finger trailed over the lettering.
“What is going on, Buck?” Eddie stepped closer, brows furrowed.
Buck didn’t even look up at him, just stopped his hand and let out a slow breath. “Leave me alone, Eddie,” he grunted out.
Eddie’s eyes narrowed. “No. You don’t get to do that. You don’t get to shut me out. What the hell happened last night, huh? You just bail on me and Chris without saying anything? You knew at the station you weren't coming.” He shook his head, letting out a humorless laugh.
“C’mon Eddie, it’s one night. Can you just fuck off for one day?” Buck rolled over to the other side of the bed, back to Eddie now.
Eddie tossed his hands in the air and got onto the bed, pushing Buck onto his back. He pinned his arms down. “Look at me when I'm talking to you. What the hell is your deal?!”
There was a moment of resistance before Buck gave up and stared up at him. “The kid isn’t mine. Okay? I-fuck. The timeline ended up being off, the baby is Connor’s. I should be happy for them! I should, but I-” His eyes glossed over. “This was my only shot. I know this baby wouldn’t have been mine, but I figured it was probably my only chance for-”
“Are you joking right now?” Eddie felt even more furious than when he had come here. “Are you serious? I-God, I needed you! I needed you last night. That call ruined me and then Chris…he was so devastated that you ditched him. You are such a dick, Buck. You already have a son, and you bailed on him to mope over a baby you were never going to have any connection with?” Eddie hissed out.
Buck stared up at him, his mouth parted as if he couldn’t move. “He’s not-”
“He is, Evan. He is your son. He loves you like you are his dad. If you can’t see that then I don’t know what to tell you. Your son needs you. So suck it up, stop mourning a child that wasn’t yours. Then, come home with me,” Eddie whispered.
Buck blinked back tears, swallowing hard. Their position was becoming more noticeable now that he was thinking thoughts again. “You’re right. I… I think I was using this baby to mourn the family that I wished I had.”
“Why are you saying ‘wished’, huh? We are right here, stupid.” Eddie let Buck’s wrists go and brought both hands to cup at his face. “We are right here, and we love you. I love you.” He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Buck’s lips, feeling the hitch in Buck’s breath and moving back barely an inch to gauge Buck’s response. After a moment of shock, Buck bridged the tiny gap to return it.  Buck’s hands lightly twisted in Eddie’s shirt.
“If you want a baby so badly, I'll give you as many as you want. If you stop being a dick,” Eddie teased against his mouth. Buck let out a wet laugh, laying his head back into the bed. He reached up to brush at a tear that rolled down Eddie’s face and kept his hand there.  Despite his joking tone, the emotion in his voice was thick. The happy light in Buck’s eyes turned into something more sober as he continued stroking his thumb along Eddie’s cheekbone. “I am  sorry, Eddie. For last night, and for today. For doubting you guys. I love you, too.” Buck pulled Eddie back towards his lips. “You are my family. The only family I need,” he whispered as their lips connected.
They spent a few more minutes getting acquainted with each other's mouths before Buck  pulled away, still keeping their faces close and looking breathlessly wrecked. ”Hey, I just wanted to talk for a minute. As fantastic as this feels, I need to get some words out.” Buck’s knuckles gently trailed up and down Eddie’s arm. He watched the goosebumps that raised on the tanned skin. “I know I already apologized. It just doesn’t feel like enough. You guys mean the absolute world to me. I can’t even put it into words.”
“I get that.” Eddie smoothed his thumb under the dark puffy patch under Buck’s eye, just like he imagined doing  yesterday. “It feels like too much for words.”
Buck nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. “I know I need to learn to wake up and realize when I have something good in front of me. I need to stop thinking I don’t deserve you. I do. Because…” Buck looked up at him then, his wide eyes shining and serious, “God dammit I fucking deserve you.” Buck’s voice got louder, as if trying to convince himself.
Eddie smiled softly at him, shaking his head in amusement. “You do deserve me. I deserve you too. If therapy taught me anything it’s that I should go for the things I want. I deserve to be happy. You make me happy.”
The lump got bigger as Buck swallowed around it. He nodded a few times as the tears started up and he scoffed. “Fucking hell, don’t tell anyone about how much I’m crying today. You just make me so…” The words got lost on him as he stared up at Eddie. “How are you so beautiful?”
Eddie’s eyes widened a bit and his head ducked in embarrassment. “Uh, I dunno. Ask my parents? Actually maybe I should be asking you the same question,” he teased, leaning down to kiss his birthmark. “How are you so beautiful, Evan Buckley?”
“Shut up, You are so annoying.” Buck grinned, not looking even the slightest bit annoyed.
Eddie laughed loudly and finally dropped beside him, toeing off his shoes. “Okay, Buckley. We have T-minus 6 hours till we have to pick up our son. And you, my dear, need the longest nap of your life.” He pulled Buck into his chest, kissing his curls and not missing the way Buck beamed at the words as he snuggled into Eddie’s chest and flung an arm around his torso.
Buck’s eyes shut almost immediately after, though. He was truly exhausted, but still managed a few last words. “M’kay. We get Chris, and then go home?”
Eddie smiled into his hair. “Yeah, then we go home.”

Some SIlly Rambly Notes on Foxy Brown
[WARNING: Mentions of SA]
The sexualization of Grier in this film is insane compared to today’s standards around revealing skin in film. The first time the audience sees her, she's in a see through fluffy orange night dress that she raises up to see her tiddies. I was shooketh. In this same scene though, we see her stash a gun in her bra, linking her sexuality to danger.
I AM. IN. LOOOOOOVE with Grier’s outfits in this movie. HOLY FUUUU-
Link, Foxy’s brother, was selling dope to try to answer the call of “all this ambition” that’s in him from seeing people in fancy homes with fancy lives. He’s upset because he doesn’t fit into any of the roles that may help him get there— he’s not smart enough to go into government, he’s not attractive enough to marry rich, etc. So he turns to drugs. This was such a hopeless moment. I almost felt bad for him. But then he decided to be an idiot.
When Link learns that Foxy’s boyfriend is still alive— a man the gang that’s after him has been looking for— he betrays his sister by giving the man up to save his own hide. Later in the film, when the gang members find Link, he tells them what Foxy is up to. One of the (white) men, upon hearing of Link’s actions up to that point, says, “That doesn’t make sense.” Another (white) man replies that “maybe those people don’t believe in family loyalty, Eddie.” This makes me think of the Moynihan report which discusses the ‘broken’ family structure of black families. It made me fume after having read Spillers’ response to it.
Foxy isn’t the only woman to use their sexuality to get what they want. The same goes for the leader of the gang, Ms. Carrie, and several of the smaller side characters who are similarly highly sexualized.
The film employs a lesbian to keep one of Foxy’s friends and accomplice at a bar. Foxy fights against a gaggle of women who are all readable as butch lesbians to get her accomplice away from them. This was the first time I’d seen such a depiction of people in the LGBTQ+ community. I’m really glad that we have better representation nowadays in the media.
Foxy telling a table full of men to “take care of the justice and. [she’ll] handle the revenge [herself]” because she’s the only one that wants to change things. This was a very starkly contrasted scene because it felt like Foxy was standing alone at the one end of the table with little back up.
Foxy as the Jezebel who lures the pilot of the plane to Mexico—where the gang is doing their next drug deal—in with her looks simply by sitting alone and twiddling her hair.
The final scene… just watch it: Foxy Brown (1974) End Of The Movie

So I mentioned it in another post but who wants to hear my horrific angst for aus or season 5? No one? TS this is my blog
Long post under the cut
Ok so my thought is very much around how vecna has his victims lined up as trophies in his mindscape. They can't JUST be trophies right? Vecna is a loon but he's too pragmatic to be so vain. They must serve a purpose. He needed 4 of them to open the gates so they must have some significance that his other victims don't.
Which brings me to my theory. Vecna needs his s4 victims to power the gates, like uh totems or human battery packs, that's why he needs them close to hand in his mind and not buried in some forgotten hole like the ones he killed in the lab. So he can keep them trapped in bad memories, keep tormenting them so their misery keeps the gates open. That's why he tormented them first. We know from Kali fear and anger are powerful emotions but from el and Mike we know love is stronger. Henry doesn't understand love, so he's basically using scare power like he's in monsters inc.
SO HERE IS MY HIDIOUS ANGST IF THAT WASNT BAD ENOUGH
Once vecna opens the gates, he's got his first set of 4 victims powering them, but it's not enough. We know El has a longer range wither her powers and even she needed to piggy back on max to reach him. My idea is that to keep his influence spreading he needs to piggy back on others too, more victims to act as human relays. Think some sort of torture based radio tower or the shield of Morty suffering from Rick and Morty.
My idea is that he has people sort of strung up to towers made of flesh like the mind flayer, being kept alive and 'protected' by demogorgons like Will with the tube down his throat in season 1. Vecna is using their nightmares, their mental scapes as pitstops for his abilites. Jump from the upside down where he's safe ,like the creel house scene, into their mind scapes and from then onto whoever he wants.
Next question is, who would he choose as victims? Well I'm glad you asked:
Eddie(maybe)
disclaimer, im more on the side of kas eddie than this but lets just run with it.
Fairly self explanatory, Eddie was a choice of convenience, there's a person, might as well use them. Dying in the upside down, vecna is sure he'd agree to anything to live. Imagine his suprise when Eddie pulls a fuck you and fuck your plan too out of his flack jacket. Now vecna is determined to keep him alive out of spite. If he'd just been good and done as vecna asked maybe he'd give a nice dream to his little human relay but no, now Eddie gets to watch Chrissy and Dustin die over and over until vecnas finally done with him or his body gives out under the strain. i guess if u wanted kas eddie, this could be punishment from vecna for disobeying him . maybe doesnt have the same effect since kas eddie is already dead but hey ho its still not pleasant.
Jason
I think Jason's death was bullshit. Not in the way Eddie's, bobs, or Billy's was bullshit but bullshit all the same. So I'm bringing him back in the worst fuckin way possible. the gate opening doesnt rip him in half so much as it swallows him whole. he lands face first in the upside down creel house just in time to miss steve nancy and robin leaving. hes hurt, thats no short fall he just had so hes kinda stuck there. obviously when hes done licking his wounds vecna comes home and finds him. Jason has zero fucking clue what's going on in Hawkins so for him to be strung up and tortured by vecna just has so many layers to it. Jason would think he'd died and gone to hell and that's a whole new kind of angst for me to work with. Vecna wouldn't even need to make him hallucinate to get the kind of suffering he needs to boost his powers. Just keep him awake and watching and Jason would be out of his mind in minutes. Bonus points for any body horror he might bring to the table: vecna has those vines in his back , maybe he could put some in Jason and turn him into a human security system with tendrils and eyes all over Hawkins. Forces Jason to watch the horror unfold AND when Jason inevitably reacts to the party, cries out to lucas or his friends to help him, vecna will know instantly.
Billy
Ok we know for a fact that billy is still around in vecnas head somewhere. See my other post for proof. Tldr billy is the only hallucination who seems to have real eyes or a soul and consciousness. Susan's eyes go white, Chrissy's moms eyes go white, freds accusers eyes are all white. The reason Billy's aren't is BC vecna has him, he can use the real billy in the hallucination to torment max. I imagine the reason he does this is 2 fold. To scare max yes but moreso to punish billy for daring to stand up to him, for beating his mind games in season 3. When max is in a coma neither vecna or el can reach her, she's safe. So what does vecna do? Take his frustration out on billy by forcing him to help spread the upside down around Hawkins. I see this 1 of two ways.
1. Billy has give up. He is too broken, he doesn't care what happens to him, to Hawkins, to anyone, even max. He is just too exhausted and can't bring himself to fight when he suddenly finds he has a body again. It just means more pain and he just cant take it anymore. i do love me some angst but i think this is a little ooc for Billy.
Or
2.Billy is too tough for vecna to break. He tried it once and it didn't work and all its done is pissed Bills off. Billy is fucking mad so there's no sense in trying to hallucinate him into compliance because hes already gazed into the abyss and spat in its face with the double middle finger salute. Further more, billy doesn't give a fuck about Hawkins, so making him watch shit hit the fan doesnt work either. But what does work, is threatening max. She's the only thing he gives a fuck about and he can't help her like this. "Do as I say and I won't touch her." Vecna says "you could run but you'll never get to her before I do" the noodly bastard is lying through his teeth and praying billy doesnt call his bluff. Nancy did a number on him, his brisk walking days are over. He's just praying billy doesn't find out max is in a coma and essentially untouchable in everything but the physical sense. So billy complies, for now, plotting to grind vecnas face into the concrete with his boot heel. He'll behave for now.
For max.
And since we need 4 I've got 2 choices.
First one is Nancy. Not that I don't love Nancy, even despite her flaws, i still canon that Karen wheeler is Alice creel which would make Henry, Nancy and mike's uncle. There has to be some reason why he picked her to show those visions to. Also I want to see Jonathan robin and Steve panicking BC Nancy is the only one holding the braincell and they all love her deeply. Bonus points if they get half way though saving her and she walks past having saved herself. insert i fear no man but that thing scares me meme of vecna with nancy.
Second one might lose more people but
You know how stranger things is inspired by silent hill? I think the last relay tower human/ victim should be Henry. Or at least, some part of the original Henry creel.
Think about it. Silent hills Alessa separated herself into "dark" and " light" sides. Og alessa stayed in the otherworld/ upside down and Cheryl/heather escaped. No powers but free from the darkness of alessas mind and the other world .why wouldn't vecna try that if he could? He's got trauma, he's got weakness, he may not look human anymore but hes still fallible . imagine if he found out he could just split himself down the middle and send that weak half packing some place else? become the apex predator he clearly wants to be? he'd jump at the chance...well, hobble at the chance. id like to see vecna treat this "weak" part of himself terribly. 'henry' gets the worst treatment from vecna and its just delicious angst and self loathing.
side note i had a thought about vecna using 'henry' as a human blood pouch for vampire eddie. henry using his 'talk to kids in the lab' voice to try and keep eddie calm, eddies sobbing and apologising as he drinks from henry but hes so hungry and in pain and has no control over it, henry just telling him its ok even though its agony.its nearly whumptober lads no one can stop me.
i am a sick and twisted individual. i may rewrite this thought into an actual fic with mungrove or munver, havent decided yet.
so yes, there are all my thoughts tm . i need a nap, maybe if i daydream up anymore suffering for my favorites ill let you all know
