I’m on my knees begging people to stop making ‘snackle boxes’ and cat litter box ‘cakes’ or wtfever in actual tackle boxes and cat litter pans that are
NOT FOOD SAFE PLASTIC!!!
Please! STOP!! We have enough PFAS and microplastics getting into our bodies as it is without you literally eating out of UNSAFE PLASTIC MADE FOR NON-FOOD ITEMS LIKE YOUR CATS POOP!! It does not matter how clean they are, or if they’re brand new. You’re eating out of a potentially toxic container not meant for food. Please. I’m begging you. Please at least line it thoroughly with something. Please

Tim always spooks a little when it comes to gift-giving, as he has a tendency to either be right on the money, or horrifically off the mark, with no in-between grey zone. So he's nervous as he hands it over, but he's pretty sure that he's done well, this time. Or... he hopes he has.
In his hands is a scrapbook. It's thick-- almost twice the size of a normal one, but in his defense, it's because there's more than just pictures or paper inside.
On the outside of the scrapbook, it simply says "The Story of Us: Year One."
And on the inside of the scrapbook... he's collected every possible ounce of memorabilia that he can, that might commemorate their time together.
The lens he'd cracked in their first fight. Every vindictive selfie Thad had sent when they'd first begun to text each other. (And his own images in response). A list of the features that made up their respective types, which increasingly began to describe each other. Photographs of the bars they'd visited, when they finally spoke truth to one another. The sticker from the apple Thad had given Tim once. A joke "certificate" which declared that Thad was indeed a natural blonde. Red and green worms on strings. A ticket from the line they'd taken when they'd train-hopped. The recipe for an oreo milkshake (lactose-free) which he'd used to best Thad in a bet, once. A wax imprint of the bottom of one of Thad's Inertia boots, arranged diagonally-- and then an imprint of one of his Red Robin soles, going the other way, to make the impressions form a heart. A literal mixtape, which had a pouch so that it could be removed and put back, if Thad ever wanted to listen to it. A blueprint for the snackle box. A replica of Thad's Flash Ring, and of Tim's Red Robin throwing disc. The mistletoe Thad had used on him, just recently.
Of course, in between all of these, there were still plenty of photographs. Some embarrassing, some cute, some incredibly old, and some very new. All of them showed, primarily, however, the way that both Thad and Tim were delightfully, imperfectly, people, who felt and hurt and mourned and celebrated.
And at the end, just to add on a bit more of Tim's unique brand of heartfelt humor, he's printed off a powerpoint presentation which lists no less than ten reasons for why he thinks he should qualify as Thad's lightning rod.

Holding the scrapbook in his hands and seeing what it was titled Thad was already filled with love, and the fondness he felt could be so easily seen on his face. The scrapbook could have been empty, a promise for what could come, and Thad would have loved it just as much.
As he flips through the pages, he lets out a laugh happy yet also so surprised that Tim had gathered this all together to make this scrapbook. He couldn’t believe that, but that was so like Tim wasn’t it? The only person he knew that was more detail oriented than himself, of course, was Tim.
Light danced in his eyes as they glazed over with the threat of tears. This feeling in his chest whelmed up inside of him, but it wasn’t overwhelming or overpowering to the point it was too much for the clone. For someone who had rare spots of light in his life, few good moments, and who had shut away and repressed his emotions and parts of himself. It, in the most simple way, made him feel good. He could burst with all these emotions that filled and danced in his chest and would still be so happy. It wasn’t a bad thing in the least to the speedster. With Tim he kept discovering feelings he had never considered that he could feel or that he would never experience again.
“Shut up.” He breathlessly laughs, “I can’t believe you kept some of this stuff.” Thad traces the unmistakable shard of his cracked lens with his fingers as he remembered their first one on one fight with each other, and saw the insignificant little sticker from a brand of apples he could only find in the Midwest that he had given to Tim once in a moment of concern. It was a wonder that Tim had even thought to save things like these from when they were still enemies that Thad would have considered trash at the time, “Aw, don’t tell me you were that smitten with me even way back then, babe." He jokingly teases Tim as he nudges him with his shoulder and flips further through the scrapbook. Though if Tim was listening carefully he would hear the strain of emotion in his voice, the threat of happy tears Thad’s body made against him and how moved he was by it.
“I really can’t believe you managed all of this underneath my nose. I would have been happy with just going out for a meal, but I guess you really wanted to make me cry today, huh?” And Tim was coming real damn close with that as he saw the imprints of their shoes. It was so sappy and he loved it so much.And the mixtape! He immediately palms it and sets it aside to listen as soon as he could. Tim knew he was too curious about what he didn’t know. He just couldn’t leave the unknown alone and that included finding out what sort of music Tim had packed onto the cassette tape.
Thad continues to flip through the scrapbook looking back and forth between the mementos and photos and texts they had exchanged in the past. Thad knew for a fact he still had them on his own phone as well. He hadn’t gone back to look at them, but seeing them now all he could think was that they both had come a long way from where they had started.
Beneath all the layers and masks they were just two people.
"I love it Tim.” He says wiping at the corner of his eye with his thumb, “Y'know, you really are my favorite bird of the bunch.” He had been for some time at this point if he was going to be accurate, “I love you too. I love you so much." He says gently placing the scrapbook by his side on the couch and leaning over and presses a kiss to his cheek.
“And there’s no competition. If I have a lightning rod it’s you. No doubt about it.”

Date ideas for regressors!
Note: even kiddos without a partner can do these activities cause it’s important to take yourself on a date sometimes too!
Scrapbooking or a Photo Album! 📷🎞️ (Pick up a photo album or scrap book from a local craft store and print some of your favorite photos! Your album can be themed around anything! Fun ideas include; stuffie album, caregiver and kiddo album, dates with your partner, ect.)
Snackle Tackle Box! 🦞🎣🐠. Fill up a clear divided container (a tackle box or even a bead or trinket sorter will do) and fill each section with one of your partners favorite snacks!
Picnic in the Park! 🧺🌱🥪 Grab a blanket, your favorite foods and drinks, and of course some fun activities (bubbles, chalk, binoculars are some good ideas) and head to the local park! (I recommend going on school hours if it’s during the weekdays so no kids will be around, or go later near sunset!) note: this activity can also be done inside if it’s not nice out!)
Movie Theater 🎭 🍿🎥 Make your own movie theater and invite your partner and stuffies! Make sure you choose a really good movie! Pop some popcorn, and make tickets to give to your guests! (Bonus if you make snacks themed around the movie you’re watching!) and before your movie starts make sure you check that everyone has their tickets!
Breakfast for Dinner 🍽️ 🥞🍳 This one is a classic! Help out in the kitchen and make breakfast for dinner! Be a little chef and prep all your ingredients before you start cooking! (This is called mise en place! Which means to gather and prep your ingredients) sometimes it’s nice to have a sweet treat for dinner! Pancakes and waffles are perfect for this!
Stargazing 🔭 ⭐️☄️ Find a nice place nearby without a lot of trees and a clear view of the sky! Pack yourself some snacks and a blankie and enjoy the stars! This is similar to the picnic idea but at night! You can get books or even look at your phone to find constellations!

500 followers challenge!!
I’ve recently reached 500 followers, and I’m shocked and excited! So much so that I’ve decided to host a challenge. I love reading fan fics and thought this would be an amazing way to interact with others!!

hey it's New PI again. How do you deal with remembering to eat/eating healthy during field work? I'm only doing digital investigations right now but I'm getting so caught up in work that I'm straight up forgetting breakfast/lunch--and I'm not even in the car yet, I'm at home. Do you have, like, any go-to foods that won't spoil during surveillance but also aren't garbage?
Howdy, pal! I struggle with this too - it's hard not to just get fast food when I'm on the way to a scene or something. My method is to make snack foods and graze on them the whole time. I don't have any full meals unless I have a minute to break away (and then, sometimes, it's better to be fed than to worry about how healthy it is).
I love Lunchables. Or the grown-up version, charcuterie boards. Seriously, a meat and cheese tray, a pack of crackers, and a veggie tray or some mixed fruit, and I'm the happiest of campers. Plus, these are foods that save well, especially if you have a little cooler with a little ice pack.
Mostly you're gonna wanna hit carbs and protein, and more protein than carbs (because the energy lasts longer). Trail mix is also fantastic, if you don't have anything that will melt in it.
And then I always keep a case of water in my truck for myself or anyone out on the corner in the heat of summer. Lately I've been stocking caffeine as well behind the seat - my poison is always Mtn. Dew, but keeping tea bags or something in your glove box is a good idea.
Last but not least, here's a tip from the chronic illness rulebook - if you have trouble getting up to go get food, put food where you are. Maybe this means desk snacks or a little cart. I've seen someone with a "snackle box," a cheap tackle box loaded up.
Eat! You need energy for your brain to investigate!

Rex- driving. I love just getting behind the wheel and thoughts empty, only road ahead
Echo-not having to socialize or answer phone calls. I could use Bluetooth, but let's be honest... No thank you.
Fives- when road tripping with other people, being able to switch drivers
Jesse- attacking the vending machine at every single rest area
Kix- looking like a hot fuckin mess when I pull up to the gas station and not caring because I just drove through 3 states and im feeling great
Tup- messy bun, no makeup
Dogma- listening to my favorite podcasts! Right now I have dropping the gloves with John Scott (hockey) on.
Hardcase- my snackle box!!!
Coric- road trip playlists are the best!!
Bly- daydreaming while looking out the car window
99- just seeing all of the views changing. Going from the prairie to the Cornfields to whatever the hell Does Moines is is one of my favorite parts.
Cody- road trip conversations with your travel partners.
Waxer/Boil- seeing other families having fun and doing their rest area stops. Brings back fun memories of our family vacations
Wolffe- sleeping in a hotel and waking up refreshed for once and ready for more driving
Boost/Sinker- like the only time I actually eat fast food
Hunter- sky colors changing on the horizon as you drive
Wrecker- LOOK AT ALL THOSE COWS IN THE FIEKD
Tech- stopping and reading all the historical markers. Yeah, I'm one of those people
Crosshair- one of the only times I actually don't care about traffic or not
Omega- buying every little cheesy souvenir at the gas stations
Howzer- state welcome centers

Do you get annoyed when Kade leaves crumbs everywhere in your interior when he eats? which seems like all the damn time Has he left entire chunks of food behind?
"We've had the food argument more times than I care to remember, but I will say that he's gotten better at not leaving his sandwiches in my cab."
Mainly because Chief Burns bought him a Snackle Box to keep his food in and one of those little mini vacs to clean the crumbs up with.
Kade is a child when it comes to food clean up, you have to make it fun.... Or threaten to ground him.
