I could go as Izou!!!#Like... I love Izou he is one of my favorite characters and I would have loved to cosplay as him regardless#but with my partner as Smoker the opportunity was too good to pass#Never mind this is pre ts Smoker and post ts Izou#my partner doesn't even know Izou comes back after the ts 😂 he never once commented on the unfamiliar parts of my outfit#which is really funny to me#but then again pre ts Izou had maybe a total of 3 minutes screen time#so I can't blame him for not knowing exactly how he looked like anymore#still I would have expected either the coat/cape thing or the scar would throw him off#(you can exactly see nothing of the scar on these pics btw 😭 but it was there)#also shoutout to the person coming to compliment me on my cosplay and tell me she had a Kiku cosplay#I hope we can meet again when we're both in cosplay and make a siblings photo!

Last year I debuted my MGS2 Solid Snake cosplay at a summer con in France.
The tactical corset was a pain to make (it will probably need a V2 + me losing weight) and due to the heat I couldn't add the big control piece on the Nikita so I had a very generic rocket launcher.
At least I had the M9 tranquilizer gun.
( You can probably tell but I'm not a smoker, I'm using herbal cigarettes lmao )

I have been going a little crazy lately with the writing, to be honest here. Things are getting out of hand and the fics and drabbles just keep coming. I need to update the WIP list with all of the new plots. I have some serious work to do to keep up!
The "Dreaming of You" has been cooking like sweets in an oven. Now there's a few more than the initial "one shot" for the heart pirates, and a few more developing on its way. My favourites to write so far have been Shachi, Heat, Killer, Doffy, Smoker, Rosi, Bugs and Croco. I'm actually kinda looking forward to Usopp 👀

Okay, so when my partner and I were working on his Smoker cosplay, we were looking for gloves that came as close as possible to his anime gloves, like shown in the picture below.
However, it was hard to find gloves exactly like that. So, we went for a lighter brown, and gloves with more black parts in it. (My partner jokes it's his permanent haki). The gloves didn't have just black circles on the knuckles, but a whole black strip covering the knuckles, and small black parts a little higher up the fingers as well. You can see it well on this picture:
But... it was as close as we could get it and the style of gloves looked pretty good to us, so we went with those.

But then the live action came out and... ....
They're 98% the same gloves. Lighter brown. Full black strip covering the knuckles. Small black parts on the fingers.

I finished watching the live action!#But very hyped they showed Smoker after all because I was kinda afraid they would leave him out of the whole live action somehow

Pre-RE/The S.T.A.R.S era headcanons
- Wesker was pretty notorious for doing a lot of his work after hours rather than throughout the day (at least on days he’s actually in the office). He enjoyed staying late and just having the station to himself while he knocked out paperwork and other necessary filing.
- He’s a smoker in the S.T.A.R.S era, much to his own chagrin because it’s a vice he still gets cravings for even in the present day. Despite seeing it as a habit “beneath” him, he used it as a form of stress relief during that time. He’s gotten shit for it a couple of times because he’s also prone to doing it indoors. Primarily inside his office.
- His sleep is chaotic at best. Wesker most certainly works late hours and long ass shifts and often does not get back to his own residence until well after midnight. Needless to say he’s taken more than a few naps at work and goes through coffee like it’s water.
- Most of what is known about him by the other RPD staff is actually pretty surface level. Like, he is amicable if somebody tries to talk to him but he doesn’t indulge colleagues in information about his personal life unprompted and he really does not allow other people to get to know him personally. His work and off duty lives might as well be two different worlds. It’s pretty common for the other S.T.A.R’s to find out he’s broken up with whomever he was dating several MONTHS after the fact for eg.
I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily aloof or obviously “sneaky” about it so much as he emulates a constant professionalism and just isn’t too chatty with anyone outside his direct team. He does carpool with the other STARS a lot though. So he was a lot closer to them than he’ll ever really admit to himself.
- Wesker did kind of enjoy this time period for novelty’s sake if nothing else. To him, being the STARS Captain was almost like spending years just cosplaying a completely normal person. He spent a few years just experiencing life from a whole different POV while keeping all ulterior motives concealed.
He’s quite proud of the fact that he was able to juggle two completely different lives at the same time while never being caught.
