I love your unhinged energy of your comics it's just *chef's kiss"
I wanna ask how you rig your chibi characters if you use a program or an app ಥ‿ಥ
thanks! 💚💜💚
I use Spine (professional version)! I'm pretty sure it's the same program the Twst devs use for the chibis; I decided to try reverse-engineering 'em basically because my license was just sitting around gathering dust, and I thought it'd be fun practice (this was before I tried to rig Meleanor's cape). it is an industry-standard program and, unfortunately, is priced accordingly, so it's a bit expensive if you're not planning on using it professionally -- there is a free trial, though I think you can't save/export anything in it? BUT it is truly excellent and can do a ton of super cool stuff, plus is genuinely just fun to mess around in, so I 10000% recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting into 2D rigging!
behold...the BONES...Najma and her billion discrete tassels...don't pay attention to all the extra bones from my desperate attempts to control Meleanor's meshes

Will your crocodad au come back? It has an Iron grip around my heart 😭😭
i've been thinking about maybe forgetting posting it vaguely linearly and throwing parts from different arcs whenever i feel like it instead, since it's that damn flashback that got me stuck. i don't know if ppl will vibe with that tho, since i've posted most of what the timeline is supposed to be like it's probably fine/shouldn't be too confusing.
also the timing of this ask is great, i just drew that, inspired by a mom and her kid i saw on the bus today:

Did you hear about Freya the walrus?? :( what are your thoughts? Was the right course of action taken or was it just lazy?
it was a bad situation with no good outcomes, but I think it was the only thing they could have done.
see, walruses are a weird combination of "absolute juggernaut" and "surprisingly delicate"- even female walruses regularly clock in at the ton-plus range!
they're also SHOCKINGLY fast on land when they really want to be, and are entirely capable of rushing down and killing a human via horrific blunt force trauma if they decide they've had enough.
and the whole "surprisingly delicate" thing- walruses are difficult to sedate and transport properly even when they're in good condition and not half starved, so there's no way they would have been able to safely capture Freya and take her back to the Arctic circle where she belonged since it was over 3,000 miles away. she would have just died of stress en route.
walruses also require very specific and intensive care when they're in zoological institutions, meaning that you can't just go around calling up every random aquarium in the area asking if they can take a walrus! any aquarium that has a space for a walrus... already has a walrus.
and to cap it off, due to the constant media storm and hoards of gawking tourists invading her space, Freya was starting to be very concerningly habituated to people! which is a recipe for absolute disaster when you're talking about an animal of this size and temperament. if the authorities had ignored the issue and allowed people to continue to approach her, she absolutely would have eventually injured or killed someone.
so tldr they had a very large non-native animal on their hands that they couldn't take into captivity or relocate back into it's native range, and it was becoming very clear that the situation could not continue as it was going without possible loss of human life, so they did the only thing they could and euthanized her as humanly as possible. a terrible end to a miserable situation, but it wasn't really anyone's fault at the end of the day.

Siffrin Doodles
Some sketches I made to practise drawing Siffrin. He's very expressive! I adore how multifaced he is and how well he fits in with the silent protagonist while still talking and making meaningful choices in the game. ISAT delves into why the protagonist is quiet and, oh boy, mood. I would also rather let other people talk and just listen to them.
And my favourites doods of the bunch in full HD, jk.
POV: You're Isabeua.
(small spoilers) I absolutely adore the scene when Isabeau confesses his feelings for Siffrin. But I also imagine that after everything Siffrin went through, they will look tired AF. Let this dude rest! Still, Isabeua is going to see Siff's beauty because that man is hopelessly head over heels for them. They could walk out covered in trash, with the most manic grin on his face after rummaging through the garbage for a specific bauble, and Isa would still think Siff is charming.
(Fair to him, Siffrin is pretty)
Idk, I like his smile. The profile art Siffrin differs from the art sprites for when they think or talk. It's a shame we don't get to see their confident smile more often.
Food. If you know, you know and if you do - that mid game scene made my heart melt. Now, when I think of it and the other special events, there is just a sour curdle in my stomach.
Just straight up the surprise portrait. Of all my favourites (the smug smirks and the absolute happiness sprites) - The surprise portrait stuck with me the most. It's very versatile!
Swagless, absolutely incontestably - swagless. No idea if people still use swag, but swagless is the only word I can think of fitting this sketch with drunk Siff. Also Siffrin is not threatening anyone with a knife, he's just stimming. Siffrin's just a little guy! He can do no harm, /joking, he very much can do harm/.
POV: You threatened their family.
Run.
