Gabriel moments that make me ragingly feral (1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Noose;
I think for this to be emphasised best it’s missing a little extra context, not that it’s needed but it certainly adds to the direness of the situation and Dean’s intentions with Gabriel.
Tumblr media
Gabriel is not their friend. Gabriel is not even their ally. Freshly freed from torture and imprisonment, Gabriel has run off to try and break the last of his chains which proves more difficult than anticipated when he’s as weak and vulnerable as he is (physically and mentally). His choice to seek out the Winchesters isn’t born of trust or love but pure desperation, and Gabriel wasn’t around to witness Dean’s temper tantrum over him exercising his freedom to go deal with his own personal dramas- because that’s what this is for the Winchesters as well, they can talk big game about Michael but things would be fine if they left it alone, they want their mom. It’s understandable, they love her. But let’s not pretend anything about wanting to break open rifts between worlds in s13 is anything but them refusing to mourn a mother that never existed. Gabriel’s motives are no more petty than Dean’s, and I stand by that. If they had righteous motives they would leave their mother and keep the wall between worlds sealed.
So Gabriel doesn’t know that he is not walking back into a tense but still there allyship, like how he left things after Sam nursed him back and to return the favour Gabriel snapped out of his stupor to fight back to save him and Castiel. Sure he ran away and this is not friendship, but it’s something. He doesn’t know things have changed personally, because of Mary, because of a woman that looks like a friend Dean used to have but isn’t.
So when Sleipnir and Narfi come kicking in their door and start attacking the Winchesters, Gabriel (after taking a brief respite to panic in the bathroom) again steps between Sam and the enemy. Could simply be that he acknowledges he needs numbers on his side and if Sam and Dean die now it’ll be 1v2, or he’s still trying to pay Sam back for his kindness. Either way, he fights alongside them again.
After a little camaraderie, Dean is quick to pull out binding cuffs he’d been stashing which could be considered pretty overkill when Gabriel is already powerless and bleeding out, and the frame centers the cuff around Gabriel’s throat like he’s caught in a noose. Along with the framing of Gabriel as captured and subdued here they’ve also set Dean alone and Sam side by side with Gabriel, since he’s going to be the one fighting for Gabriel’s autonomy and recovery in upcoming scenes against Dean’s harsh Take What We “Deserve” method.
Here he’s trading one master for another potential one if Dean were to get his way here (restraining him, beating him, taking what Dean feels he deserves from body while he’s too weak to fight back), all because he came back to ask for help.
Ironically, it’s the exact same thing he did when he ran back to another old friend and asked him for help only to wind up contained, powerless, and stripped of his grace for someone else’s personal use.
Seems Gabriel is the worst of them all at learning his lesson.

anyway thinking abt homophobia in valisthea
which means thinking abt sex-related misogyny in valisthea. bc imo there is way too much sexual violence against women and focus on women as sexual figures w sexual drama in this game for it to not bleed over into how it feels abt two men kissing (not gonna go into a lesbian reading bc it exits my scope)
like. anabella only being a vessel for children, benedikta using sex to control titan/feel loved by barny but also being threatened w rape twice(?) by men, jill awakening shiva when she's almost raped by a man + other rosarian girls are raped, the constant winkwink sexy references w isabella, the offscreen women moaning in the oriflamme brothel, sylvester killing his wife n mistress after they outlived any sexual service to him, barny's mom referenced in an easily interpretable sexual manner, etc etc
simultaneously the narrative does its best to present the veil as a morally neutral institution w benefits to the function of northreach. the discussion between the male sex worker and the male guard was deliberately placed, too, and gives an interesting view into affection and money. theres a couple more men in veil garb that arent presented as out of place.
which is all failed by rest of the worldbuilding imo. only male customers visit the veil. sex is still regarded as a sneaky taboo subject. every country has a male monarch and occupations are firmly divided by gender. the primary hinge of benedikta's relationship w hugo is the fact that hugo feels in charge, which helps culturally ascribe dominance as a masculine trait.
if women are so widely regarded as unequal on sexual terms (and, relatedly, on societal terms), certain expectations must also exist on the male side.
we dont really see much tension in the male characters performing masculinity--other than the huge unnatural vibes sleipnir gives off by mincing around--but we do see barny kneel before ultima in a rly sexually charged scene. his subservience is presented as an unexpected weak facet of his character, where he's desperate and obliging and uncertain. it's a private scene that works off its own uncanniness, so it functions a little bit more as a narrative piece than a societal mirror. but I don't think that removes it from the discussion, and i think its odd character is a stark contrast to the clarity we're given in dion and terence's kiss scene.
a sort of clarity, i guess. dion and terence talk abt power dynamics in class instead of sexual role or gender. there's still the words 'master' and 'servant' pinned on the wall w like 3 different undertones, so its easy to unravel that into different understandings of their relationship to class, duty, and romantic/sexual identity. i dont think its productive to split hairs abt who tops, but i think its reasonable to interpret that they feel secure in w/e service they give to the other. this is in spite of the societal understanding that dominance is inherently masculine and correct, and that subservience is feminine and not as acceptable.
i know enough abt queer history to know that the security & fulfillment i interpret them as having is simultaneously as rare as it is common depending on where you look. no matter what one does in the private sphere, the public view will influence it, and it's determined by the case who will feel negatively or positively abt themselves bc of it.
ultimately i see valisthea in the respect of a society that views queerness as undesirable but not smth ur gonna be burned at the stake for. im also fully operating under my own preference for queer narratives that labor under external & internal homophobic conflicts. it's fully supportable to decide that valisthea lacks homophobia as well, and its not less like wish fulfillment to have it that way or the other.

Genuinely happy to see Barnabas and Sleipnir just chilling with each other. I mean, you have a whole country and whole important people you can talk to but you chose your horse? Fine, go on. I know he's like a part of Barnabas power....yeah I know he made him. But still, there isn't any reason or at least I don't see a reason why Barnabas made him look like that. He likes long-haired people? Fine, of course, Your Majesty. I still have a bunch of questions regarding Sleipnir and I don't think I'll get my answer any soon. A long post wouldn't hurt, eh...
Let's see, why purple and lilac? You look at Waloed and they're all blue or black. If I were Barnabas, I would NEVER imagine my egi wearing that kind of clothes. But—if I'm not mistaken—purple is a rare color back then. Perhaps that's why he chose that color for Sleipnir. Also, Barnabas is a royalty, right? Who knows, probably he wanted to show people that Sleipnir is a part of him, he's not just someone, he's his Egi, his lord commander etc. Huh, alright. I got my own answer then.
And why he looks like that, or maybe is it more like "Oh you're Odin's dominant? Here's your horse partner." So Barnabas got no chance for a customisation? Did Sleipnir just popped out when Barnabas awakened and he looked like that already? Or Barnabas molded him to fit his taste more? Nevermind, this is actually a stupid question and they prove no values in answering them. Still, if somehow there's answer for this, the fic writers would be super enlightened with new ideas so Barnabas and Sleipnir fic would grow (So far they got 88 fics. Compared to other, that's pretty small but they're all fantastic anyway)
Anyway, very curious about their interactions. I bet the meetings with people weren't that much but you see how Barnabas acted? Hopeless being. Don't know what'll happen if Sleipnir wasn't there. He'd talk to him, he'd clean the way for him. Such a cool guy, isn't he? If I'm not mistaken, he been with Barnabas for a loooong time, how did they got closer to each other. He appeared when Barnabas's mom get killed and next they're lord and servant? There must've been an awkward phase right? Or if there wasn't, how did Sleipnir try to convince Barnabas that he's with him and how did Barnabas react to that? I assume Barnabas was surprised, shocked that he awakened as Odin's dominant and finally have a right hand man to fight alongside him. At the same time, did he even hesitate? If you remember his dialogue when he fought with Clive...the relinquishing will part, I'm curious about his first thought when it comes to be the lord's servant.
But yeah nvm, more room for headcanons then! And fluff for Barnabas and Sleipnir for being an insane duo (Do they deserve it? Dunno)

how many kids does your Loki actually have?
(hi everyone I am right now accepting eLoki’n’kids questions, pre-Elysium, past-Elysium, current-Elysium— pls. please please. pls pls pls pl—)
[prev question over here too!]
WELL i’ve actually been tentatively retconning one Elysium-child out of existence (no one cared about him anyway shshsh) and been back and forth with myself on doing that to another one so the current *but subject to change* count is 14!! ALL accidental it’s worth mentioning dggkfg
(plus - who knows if any more children might be in his future! Who knows!!! anything could happen!! anything at all….)
I’ll go through them all in order of oldest to newest!* (weird wording due to* Libby*) Please enjoy this blend of Norse mythy realness & Elysium brand chaos, under the cut cause it’s soooo extremely long of course; I mentioned it at the bottom but special warnings for some Dark Mentions in here of things like child death,/ murder/ miscarriage / & of course less dark but general pregnancy talks—
1- Sleipnir! Loki’s first born, the eldest son, also notably one of just two amongst all of them who has not been able to move into Elysium :(( Sleipnir- true to myth - is an eight legged horse, carried by Loki (in the shape of a horse) after being sired by Entire Horse Svaldifari. it’s… a long ridiculous story that ended up in an oopsie baby spider foal (you can just look up this Norse myth lmao) and that was all well and good until Loki finally returned to Asgard with toddler horse and Odin took him away. This first event - the first of what would be many tragic circumstances to follow surrounding his first six kids - was the start and beginning of Loki’s deep-seated trauma and paranoid caginess surrounding all of his pregnancies/children. to this day Sleipnir remains in service of the Aesir as Odin’s personal stallion, where Elysium can’t just take him since Odin would obviously notice and Loki is technically a wanted escaped fugitive in his home world so 🙃 horrifically sad and traumatizing forever. uhhh anyway!
2- Hela! Loki’s eldest daughter. I literally just drew her yesterday over here!! She’s the other one of all the kids who has not moved to Elysium. Loki is Hela’s mother, & she was sired by the Frost Giantess Angrboda, with whom Loki had begun to rendezvous with solely as an act of general rebellion against well, everyone. Loki uhhhhhh had not expected to somehow get magically pregnant from these encounters, biologically nonsensical as it was, but he’d delightedly rolled with it after the first time (and would return to her twice more hoping for more accidents - and receiving them - before she finally shooed him away). Like I said in her drawing, Hela was half dead once she was born, and half of her decomposes, regenerates, decomposes. As a teenager she and her younger siblings (the next two bullet points) were ripped from Loki by Odin and each respectively banished away in isolation out of fear of their growing powers. Hela is the queen of the Norse Dead and resides in their Underworld of Niflheim, where she has made a home and an obligation for herself that she will not abandon, even for the chance to reunite with her mom :(
3- Fenris! (also known as The Fenris Wolf….. also known as Fen), the former GIANT WOLF born to Loki & Angrboda again, nowadays shapeshifted into your run of the mill big hulking werewolfy Viking. Once again birthed by Loki as a puppy:) before growing extremely big with no sign of stopping. yes wolf-shape-Fen is larger than even Cerberus. Growing up as a gigantic bloodthirsty ravenous wolf but truly just misunderstood and unfairly judged Fen too was separated and banished during Odin’s scourge, imprisoned in isolation on the island of Lyngvi for many many years… until the coming of Ragnarok in ~2014ish (as Eisa and Einmyria were being born) - which Loki during canon Elysium events circumvented by freeing Fen, transforming him into a human shape, finally bringing him home to the Elysium palace. Fen is like ~palace adjacent~ he and his brother Jör are near inseparable and prefer to spend their time roaming the Underworld rather than confining to one place after so many years of being locked up.
4- Jörmundgandr! (also known as The World Serpent, The Midgard Serpent….. and also known as Jör) - the former GIGANTIC SEA SERPENT born ALSO to Loki and Angrboda, the last of their children before they “broke up” (had they even been dating??) Like By the time Jör was born - again to Loki yes as a big snake even then but. Quite a bit Smaller thank god. - Angrboda was finally like Jesus christ ENOUGH stop using me to sire children leave me alone??? and that was the End of that relationship or lack thereof. Jör was the last of the three kids that Odin banished away at once, he was thrown into The oceans of Midgard (EARTH) to wrap around the world nine times, ending with swallowing his own tail in one big ouroboros……. Like his older brother, Jör was freed and transformed humanoid to prevent Ragnarok in 2014 and lives Elysium-adjacent with Fen. Fun fact Jör was friends with mermaid Glaukos even as a big snake - from living in the oceans! Glaukos was able to reunite them when Loki first fell to Elysium yaaay. Also. it’s worth mentioning that even humanoid Jör is constantly biting his nails some things don’t change…. The ouroboros continues……
5 & 6- Vali and Nari! Who I just drew as teeny newborns over here and whomst I have drawn many MANY times. Normal human shapes except in the modern day Elysium canon….. they’re ghosties, eternally ten years old :(((( Loki carried the twins too though they’ve always called him father; their mother was the goddess Sigyn, nowadays Loki’s Big Ex (one of em.) after being Loki’s longest committed relationship, wife adjacent. the twins were conceived by accident of course very shortly after their previous three siblings were taken away, but Loki & Sigyn had been in a relationship for QUITE some time before that, as she’d acted as step parent to the trio since their early childhood. When Loki killed Balder as revenge for the loss of the trio, Odin magically bewitched ten year old Vali and Nari to kill each other and left their horrific remains for Loki to find (enough left for Loki to enchant the pieces himself and sEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND BY WHO).
This was one of the most horrifying and traumatizing things to have ever happened to Loki, now SIX losses of his beloved children— a catalyst for his period of supervillainry in which we allll know what happened. Sigyn also left him - an incredibly ugly breakup that didn’t help anything, as she’d blamed him fully for their deaths. When Loki ended up in Elysium, Tory transferred their ghosts from one Underworld to another and reunited them at long last :’)) finally the beginning of a happy ending!! As cheerful ghosts, solidified and recolored by their new bestest friend Meli (the goddess of ghosts) the twins DO live a happy and fulfilling life, and their return to his arms was the biggest step to Loki in Elysium finally starting to pull himself together. yay!!! and now the Elysium continuation kids!
7- Fjöer! son of Loki and Laphi, Loki’s first baby in the Elysium palace! Fjoer is half owl like his dad Laphi and is the shape of a big blue feathered. uh. thing. Fjöer like alllll the rest of them was an oopsie baby, after screwing arounddd and finding himself pregnant in the palace wth NO idea who the other parent could be. Loki panicked and ran away, preferring ALWAYS to be pregnant alone anyway (leaving secret instructions to find him just with Vali and Nari, though Epi was able to contact him through dreams.). Within a month Loki had given birth to… an entire bird’s EGG, narrowing the other parent down to ONE specific half-owl-god lmAO. He returned to the palace at that point, and Fjöer hatched two months later. Fjöer was actually the first cross couple baby of all the palace let alone with Loki (lmao look at us now!) but Laphi and Jesse took this in stride especially once Laphi’s owl-parent instincts took over. Fun fact!! Fjöer speaks only in chirpy bird talk, but all of his siblings and parents can understand him seamlessly! NO ONE ELSE, THOUGH
8- Rane! Daughter of Loki and…….. hmmm redacted due to in-progress retconning.(also she has never had a twin shhhhhhhhhhhgg). Let’s call her Flower Nymph for now. Rane’s humanoid but the first of Loki’s kids to LOOK and act Jotunn, as she came preloaded with a super low body temp and ice powers (which she hardly uses in favor of playing with mortal card tricks as a better form of magic), and was powerful enough in utero to knock all of Loki’s magic haywire. Soooooo back when Loki had left with Fjöer in utero, he’d somehow befriended a stray Flower Nymph residing newly in the palace, detached from everyone else; Vali and Nari had brought her to him to make friends lmao. what followed for the next few years was a friendship turned sort of romance, as she was COMPLETELY in love with him - he was not - he humored her for a while - it was a bad pairing all around - finally they broke up. They…. hooked up a few more times against their better judgement. Aaaand of course then Loki found out he was pregnant.
Loki’s relationship story with Flower Nymph is in the process of major retconning but they remain NOT together as a couple, just finally friends after many years of turmoil, and Rane shares split custody between the two of them (most of her time with Loki in the oalace). MOST fun fact about Rane of all time is!! she was actually born IN the avengers tower😈😇 which is a whole other story that I will not include here bc this length is so stupid already but. lmao! This is also Loki’s least favorite fact
9 & 10- Eisa and Einmyria! …Haha oh boy. they are Loki’s daughters with TORY, and the first EVER babies who Loki didn’t carry himself - while Loki was about eight months pregnant with Rane, on accident he had knocked up Tory, who had given birth to baby Raz himself not long before. Eisa is made out of molten lava - Einmyria is made out of smoldering ash. Before I talk about All this here is a DISCLAIMER that everything is fine with them and everyone NOW in terms of coparenting and a happy family!! but the series of events surrounding their surprise conception and birth was nothing but CHAOS. Maci had allowed Loki to sleep with Tory one time - NOT GET HIM PREGNANT, and she was BEYOND furious. Generally Maci AND ALSO TORY are NOT calm people they are both Very quick to anger!! Loki, bugging out of his mind from not carrying the babies himself, also feeling cornered from Maci meltdown rage and Tory’s anger and panic, responded to all of this by- perpetuating an all out war right back at them.
from all angles there was SO much screaming and yelling and fighting and custody battling— For like a solid four months of Tory’s pregnancy there was just utter turmoil, including events such as Tory fully leaving the palace (falling ill as the babies powers surged too strong for him to handle and returning); separately Maci leaving the palace in a fit and returning when Tory got sick; then separately again Loki himself getting kicked OUT of the palace after another explosive blowup— Tory and Loki PUNCHED EACH OTHER AT ONE POINT — oh my god it was a dramatic NIGHTMARE. You have to remember back then Loki and Maci HAAAATED EACH OTHER!! But finally tempers cooled and everyone calmed down, agreed to coparent and make nice for the babies’ sake, Tory allowed Loki to name the twins himself, everything was fine.
Everything is fine today! lol Maci was so bitchy about the kids and took one look at them and fell in love so bonus babies no issues. All that fuss and for nothing. …. By the way during Tory’s pregnancy with them had been when Thanatos had escaped and been exploded by Loki, and THEN— due to the stress of all these events of the past year— Ragnarok was triggered to begin. right around when Tory’s water broke (prematurely). Oops. Just uhh Loki things. This is when Fen and Jör came to the palace though!
11- Vrykolakas! Aka Vryk. Most of you probably know Vryk cause this was around the time I had started updating everyone on Elysium goings ons! Vryk is Loki and Epi’s son - sired by Loki and carried by Epi, and his claim to quirky fame is his action of traumatically dying in utero, and then clawing his way back out of his own grave to carry on forever undead. Vryk’s conception also came with a great deal of drama even before Epi had miscarried him. Epi and Loki (&Eury) slept together with the intention of possibly getting Loki pregnant, whatever happens happens, new free baby since Epi and Eury’s previous pregnancies had not been easy for either of them, but it was a panicky shock when Epi ended up pregnant instead. (None of Loki’s genetics or biology make any sense lol.) Though Maci and Loki had been playing nice with Eisa and Einmyria by then, Maci immediately started a fight with Loki with the misguided intention of protecting Epi who was terrified to be pregnant - to which of course Loki retaliAted back at her and ALLL THE DRAMA OF PREVIOUS STARTED UP ALL OVER AGAIN. Epi ended up barring both of them from being near him and hid in Chal’s house - this was when all that was going on too! - until unexpectedly miscarrying.
This was devastating of course I mean do I even need to say that. Aaughhhhh god and- Loki had lost so many children before, but never in this way, and he reeled as well. With even worse emotions at play now and those previous tensions only Barely having been smoothed, Loki and Epi got into a vicious fight - but reconcilied soon after over Vryk’s coffin. Aaaand then Vryk came back to life later that week and was fine ever after :)
Fun fact Vryk was the FINAL actual key for Maci and Loki to actually finally start to tolerate each other with any degree of warmth - for the reason OF warmth, actually. Vryk, being DEAD, does not give off body heat, and cried for days and days straight with no one able to tell what was wrong…. Until Maci, fire goddess, picked him up and immediately got him to stop. Vryk has always called Maci Mama :) shockingly Loki did not kill her over this— if only because Vryk would cry any time Maci put him down OR Loki left the room. They had no choice but to be together AHH lmao once again everything is fine now but! harrowing series of events!!
12- Kaia! may or may not exist still but I’m leaning forwards yes for now… lol Many years after Loki and That Flower Nymph aka Rane’s mom had broken up and accidentally had a baby and had a whole custody battle and then tentatively agreed to be platonic friends and never date again, they. then had sex anyway years later during one more lapse of judgement. Aaaaand this time that Flower Nymph herself ended up pregnant goDDAMMIT. She was pregnant with Kaia at the same time everything with Vryk was going on for time perspective and they were born around the same time! I have very little to say about Kaia actually - she’s got the same sort of partial custody thing worked out as Rane does, as That Flower Nymph does not live in the palace anymore and uhh. beyond that she’s just very baby! Normal pregnancy normal events just very awkward to have TWO babies post divorce - okay moving on!
13- Sæunn! Sæ is the current youngest of all of Loki’s children right now! Also appearing Jotunn-like, Sae’s most exciting feature is the ability to turn into a giant squid for NO reason, an ability only recently discovered. She is the daughter of Loki and Jesse (yknow. Laphi’s husband. whoopsies.) Jesse and Loki hooked up, on birth control bc Loki had too many fucking kids. Because Loki is Loki, that birth control did not work on Jesse And!!! Jesse found himself pregnant!’ The big thing about the birth of Sæunn is that - Before Jesse had ended up pregnant Loki had thought he’d been handling processing the events of Vryk’s almost loss quite well but suddenly having another baby IN someone else right after he’d watched Epi lose Vryk made Loki twitch out of his mind a little bit. He drove Jesse absolutely crazy treating him like he was made of glass for all nine months even with Jesse’s assurances that everything was totally fine. In fact the ONLY unusual thing about Sæ before she was born was that Jesse was inexplicably drawn to water and the pools the entire time. Otherwise the whole pregnancy was healthy and uneventful! Six years later (she’s six now!) the reason for that became extremely clear…. Squiddy :)
however. honestly. a quick aside. lmao the REAL lasting result of Sæunn’s birth was that Loki ended up taking like a three year celibacy hiatus due to EVERY FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL failing either him or any of his partners and oh my god this is so many babies back to back to back. celibacy in the… loosest sense of the word as Loki can just make clones of himself so 🙄 lol. up until - what with Maci being naturally infertile - well. was it possible she was the ONLY person Loki could actually sleep with without knocking up!!? yes😈 hence Loki’s long-standing grudge against her finally snapping, leading into that very first time in 2021…… and then, the next year! everyone discovering an,,, herbal birth control dealio….. that not only did successfully prevent pregnancies in Loki due to trial and error but also doubled as a….. sex pollen-esque aphrodisiac…… whose consensual yet probably hilariously irresponsible use by ALL parties can probably be single-handedly blamed for the blossoming of THE NOT THROUPLE DYNAMIC that we are dealing with today SO LMAO UHH— thanks Jesse and Saeunn?? ANYWAY-
FINALLY the last Lokikid currently is! of course! drumroll!!
14- Libitina! Aka LIBBY who we all know and love! Yes, Chal’s Libby! Most people say that Loki adopted Libby but Loki’s adamant that he gave birth to her and— he kinda did. Technically chronologically, Libby fits in before Vryk, because she was “born” when Chal was first caught by the palace and everyone discovered that she was sleep deprivedly hallucinating an entire girl as her best friend and conscience. When Chal healed her sleep deprivation and thus lost Libby, Loki was commissioned by Ty and Bel to bring her formally to life straight out of Chal’s head, and the real tangible Libby was created! Even from that moment they’d all joked that Loki was Libby’s mom. However it was some time later - hence this chronological timeframe - that Libby clarified with Loki— hey, ARE you my mom? “Do you want me to be?” “…yes?” “Then yes :)” and since then Loki has unequivocally treated Libby completely like one of his own.
Actually secretly Loki had wanted to formally adopt Chal too, he’d been the one in the first place who’d found Chal floundering around and had pushed most strongly For her rehab. but Chal and Loki’s relationship had never been parental or close due to both of them being little shits - in different ways. For that matter - When Tory and Maci (Maci and Chal are little shits in the SAME way) formally adopted Chal, they’d actually tried to loop Libby in, which is the exact moment they discovered that unbeknownst to anyone that Libby and Loki HAD established a parental bond and Loki refused to “toss her aside” to them (Libby didn’t even know this had come up Loki shut it down SO immediately 😅). So!!’ Libby Lokidottir!!! Even though no one will ever be closer to her than Chal is, Libby HAS been wholeheartedly welcomed and embraced by all of her Lokikid siblings, who are all completely ride or die for each other and Libby is no exception. She loves them and has so much love to give! And they all love her back!!
It is Chal’s sulky belief that Libby appears to have joined a cult and you know what? The Lokikid clan is. not far off.
thank you for joining me on this EXCEPTIONALLY LONG essay journey this was an absolute delight to write up. I’ve drawn all these guys except for Sleipnir so feel free to ask for links and pics if u wanna see any of them!! And so, Loki’s lucky 14!
only time will tell if the count will ever increase! like I said… anything could happen, even though Loki hasn’t been pregnant for SO long (since Rane a decade ago!!) and he IS on working birth control right now so…… but who knows!! WHOOOO KNOWS—
phew thank u again If you actually made it to the very bottom. If you can’t tell. I like to write just a bit…,,

Norse mythology: Loki’s kids include Hel, Jörmungand, Fenrir, and Sleipnir
Loki: Im a single mom who works two jobs. Who loves her kids and never stops. With gentle hands and a heart of a fighter, I'm a survivorrrrrrrrr
Tumblr media
If we go full angst Odin took all of Loki’s children (and in some myths made one of them kill his twin) so the reason Loki is so against trying to find a way back to Asgard is because he refuses to lose another child to Odin as much as it kills him to leave the others to their torment for longer. Harry unlike his other children is mortal. And the easiest way for Odin to take him from Loki would be to just kill him. Loki refuses to let that happen.

Tír thought for a moment, counting.
"We have three siblings in this world, I believe. @sean-and-kevin are human; they are the sons of our father, @mobius-m-mobius-speaks. They are also quite the troublemaking duo. You will probably get along well with them, but I do ask that you not influence them too much, neither of them are past 10 years old, and do not need to be killing or severely hurting anyone. Not that they haven't tried.
" @sleipnir-lokison is an actual child of Loki. He can shift from a horse to a human shape, although he, like I, are far from being human.
"I myself am the daughter of Loki and a human, it is a long story that I will not trouble to bore you with.
"And finally, our mother herself is @loki-laufeychild.
- @t1gres
“Ah…….Excuse me for a moment.” She stands there quietly and shakes her head before taking a deep breath. “Sorry I needed a second. That was a lot.” She scratched her head and then crossed her arms. “I have a sister in my universe, she’s older than me by 4 years..and she’s human. My parents found her on Asgard when she was like four, and I was a baby. We still don’t know how she got there, but I love her a lot, if she were here she would no doubt enjoy meeting all of you.” Nyx shrugs. “I’m not human, if that wasn’t obvious. I’m a familiar, an imp. My mom is a demi god..so I have like 1/4th human genetics..but I’m mainly a god. My mother had demon blood running through her veins, and I inherited some…demonic traits, such as the tail and horns you see on me.”
She was finding herself having fun talking with her sibling from another universe. That surprised her. Usually she tried avoiding universes where her dad already had an established family. She put her hands in her pockets.

Would Loki ever dare to babysit Hades and Persephone's Children if the Lord and Lady in the Underworld are away and Loki has to be the one to watch over their Children?
Oh hell yeah he would! He was a dad and a mom, so he knows his way around kids (I mean, he had the wolf Fenris, Jormungandr the sea serpent, Hel herself, Sleipnir a horse and normal twins. He has TONS of experience) also he actually loves spending time with children I bet.
It's Hades who isn't found of having Asgard's Trickster handling his kids. He knows he would never hurt them but... This jötunn is too unpredictable !
Tumblr media
Kore trust him not to do anything *too* bad with her children.

A few little Mid headcanons
She loved Cid deeply and admired him more than anyone else. Her admiration for him won't fade as an adult, but she will see him as the man he is instead of idealizing him.
She called Benedikta Mom, Barnabas Uncle Barnie and Sleipnir Bro or Sleip. It's a behavior encouraged by Cid, so good luck for making her stop doing that.
She sometimes took their belongings to experiment. She doesn't break them most of the time, but it doesn't mean she's always careful. And once again, Cid really encourages her with her experiments because he loves that his daughter likes engineering like he does.
She could be a little brat when Cid wasn't around, but it really was just because she wanted attention and wanted the others to play with her, too.
She talked a lot. She couldn't stop talking, and if she realized someone wasn't listening, she called them out about it very quickly and got mad.
She was sick when the Night of Flames happened because of the invisible string tying her to a certain boy who almost died. She woke Cid in the middle of the night to tell him she was about to vomit.
When Cid decided to leave Waloed, she was just happy to go on a trip with him. She didn't realize what it implied at all unless she was much older.

CrackFic AU I'll Never Write
Loki keeps dying because his daughter Hela is a complete work-a-holic and the only time he can be sure to see her is when she shows up at his death. He usually comes back to life because she gets annoyed with him following her around her realm, asking about her love life, if she's making sure to eat balanced meals, and trying to convince her it's okay for Death to take a holiday. Possibly a thinly veiled Hallmark Movie style fic though the holiday in question is more Halloween than Christmas.
Bonus Scene: Sigyn coming to collect Loki from Hel wearing her "I'm not the Stepmom, I'm the Mom Who Stepped Up" shirt Hel, Fenrir, Sleipnir, and Jörmungandr bought her for Mother's Day one year.

Dreadwolf is Ragnarok: Why It Makes Sense Thematically For Fenris To Return
Hello.
If you speak to me about Dragon Age for more than five minutes you'll learn that I really like Fenris. Like. REALLY like Fenris. Then you'll learn that I really, really want him to be in the next game.
I really want him to be in the next game
And I'm going to explain to you in a comically long post explaining a super crackpot theory about why I think it makes thematic sense for him to be in the next game.
So, let's talk about Norse mythology! More specifically, let's talk about Fenrir!
Tumblr media
Fenrir is Fenris' namesake. With Fenris being a slightly less common/alternative translation of the name (Fenris Wolf being the full translation) Fenrir's role in Norse mythology is essentially that he's a huge fuckoff wolf who breaks from his bonds and kills Odin, the god of knowledge and king of the gods, which causes Ragnarok, the end of the world
If you don't know, Fenrir was bound by Odin, and the really really abridged reason for doing so was basically that Fenrir was getting too big and scary for Odin to handle. So he bound him up, which caused Fenrir's hate for Odin, and in turn caused him to kill him and caused him to start Ragnarok.
Does this matter to Dreadwolf? Probably not all of it! I doubt Solas is directly responsible for Fenris being enslaved, but anything is possible, the important part here is really: Fenrir breaks free and kills Odin
I have seen people argue that Solas is not a good Odin parallel, because the Dread Wolf as a character and Solas' betrayal/trickery of you is more Loki, but I think Odin has been a bit mischaraterized by Marvel in pop culture. Odin is not a wise, ancient father of the gods. Odin is a trickster, Odin is a betrayer. Odin will do whatever it takes to gain all the knowledge he can. And this is often a fatal flaw in the legends
Norse mythology is too long to summarize here so you're just gonna have to trust me, Odin does a lot of shitty things mostly in the name of gaining more knowledge. Which is an extremely Solas thing to do and would make Solas a good Odin figure
But, Loki is still a connection, because in the legends, Fenrir is Loki's son
Now... do I expect Fenris to be Solas' son? No! That's cursed! And makes my FenHawke fankid possibly getting with one of my Solavellan fankids really uncomfortable! But I do think there could be some interesting parallels there. Maybe not "son" in a literal sense, but you could do a lot with an inherent connection between them. Maybe the lyrium markings connect them somehow, maybe Fenris has some Magic Elf Blood in his veins that connect him to Solas, maybe just BEING an elf is enough. I don't know! I'm just saying that this could also be a connection and would be fun to watch.
(Loki also has... a lot of kids. Many of whom are animals. We've got Fenrir (a wolf), Jormungandr (really big snake), and Sleipnir (eight legged horse). Fenrir and the snake have a mom that's basically Just A Woman but Sleipnir's dad is straight up a horse and Loki is the mom. No I will not explain I just need you to know that)
BioWare could also combine Odin and Loki and give Solas parallels to both. It's important to mention that I don't expect any of these parallels to be 1:1, this is not a retelling, this is a parallel, and sometimes parallels aren't exact.
All that's important is this:
Solas/The Dread Wolf is a god of wisdom, pride, and trickery. Three things that are very important to Odin's character
Fenris is named after Fenrir. A huge wolf, who hates Odin for what he did to him and kills him, initiating Ragnarok
Now, like I said, we don't know if Solas had anything to do with what Fenris went through. That is honestly not important, because regardless, Fenris would HATE Solas' plan.
Fenris would not want the veil to come down! He would not want the world to be filled with inheret magic! That would HORRIFY him! And yes, perhaps if Hawke is in the Fade, his feelings may change. But I have a sneaking suspicion that any promise Solas make to bring Hawke back would be a hollow one. Remember, Odin, and Solas, will do ANYTHING to get what he wants
Tumblr media
And if he lied to Fenris about getting Hawke back... I can't imagine Fenris would be happy
(Disclaimer: Character choices would matter, I'm not saying all of this will be unchangeable narratives, just possibilities. Though I do think Dreadwolf will have a lot of hard character-death based choices, I'll elaborate on why later)
Just to cover my bases, it is important to note that Solas already has some connections to being Fenrir himself. Mainly, also being a huge fuckoff wolf and the whole "ending the world" thing. But there is another one that I'm kind of surprised I've never seen mentioned before.
A very important bit in Fenrir's lore is that he bites off another god's hand
Tumblr media
This god is Tyr. Tyr is the god of war and bloodshed but also of order and justice.
And well. Solas kinda bit off the hand of someone who could be representative of war and bloodshed, as well as order and justice didn't he?
But... this might not be a connection, at least, not yet. Two reasons for that
Tyr placed his hand in Fenrir's mouth as a bargaining chip. Fenrir was not easy to bind, the gods tried multiple times disguising it as a game, Fenrir "winning" each time by breaking from those binds. But when someone keeps trying to tie you up you get suspicious. The last time he was bound, he asked a god to put their hand in his mouth, and if he were unable to break free and the gods didn't free him instead, he would bite off their hand. Tyr volunteered, and Fenrir bit off his hand. There are no parallels to this story and how the Inquisitor lost their hand.
If Solas is thematically Fenrir and not the guy literally named after him I will be annoyed
But it is something to keep an eye on, because it could be important in the game. This leads me perfectly into the next section of this post which is: Doesn't mean anything now but COULD mean something in the game
It's really just one point. There's a post floating around rn joking about how maybe Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is called DA:D because Solas is, in fact, a dad!
This is where we get really crackpot
See, thing is, Fenrir doesn't survive Ragnarok. He's fated not to from the beginning, maybe he knows this, maybe he doesn't, it's kind of hard to say. But, after he kills Odin, he is killed by Odin's son Vithar
Tumblr media
If the theory that Solas has children trapped behind the veil and if one of them chooses to avenge their father should you kill him, then we may be looking at a possible bad ending for the game, or perhaps not even a bad ending, maybe just an ending or even THE ending of the game.
Now you might be kind of freaking out reading this, because optional or not, this looks like A LOT of character death. I want to bring up a point with you that my friend reminded me of: Dragon Age is looking at a serious case of character bloat.
Without counting anyone twice (and giving me room for error cause I'm bad at basic math), Dragon Age has 27 companions, it has 29 if you count the Inquisition advisors, and it has 33 if you count the Awakening companions.
That is JUST the companions, that is not counting major/prominent characters that are not companions (Scout Harding, Sandal and Bodan, Arl Teagan), and it is CERTAINLY not counting anyone from the books and comics yet to be seen in the game (Vaea, Maevaris, Rys and Evangeline), and, obviously, not counting the soon to be four player protagonists
Because while the point of "Some of these characters could be dead" it is equally true that "All of these characters could be alive," nearly all, anyway, which can be very hard to juggle.
The point is: That's a lot of characters. You will notice that in most series that have large casts (The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, ???, Warrior Cats) also have a large percentage of those characters that die. So what I'm saying is: Brace yourself, Dreadwolf might be part character cull.
There has been a lot of time between Inquisition and Dreadwolf, there's going to be more time, it might well be a ten year gap. Dreadwolf is going to be a soft reset of the Dragon Age franchise at the very least. To draw in new players and to show the old players something new. Regardless of your feelings on that, if that is indeed the case, a reset is a good time to cull characters
Now... how much do I actually believe my own post here? To be honest with you, not much, I'd be surprised if even 5%, maybe even 1% of this post is correct, but I do think there are some things here. Specifically the Ragnarok parallels
Another point to remember about Ragnarok is it's not actually the end, there's a lot of death and destruction, but a new world is created out of it. Like I said, Dreadwolf is likely going to be a soft reset of the franchise, and if they do choose to have Ragnarok parallels, then it ends with the perfect way to do that: A new world. Reborn out of all that chaos, and ready to be explored anew.
So that's why Fenris should be in Dreadwolf

So y’all know that Jurassic park x mha au I said I was going to do and then left on haitus for half a year despite the fact that I explicitly stated that I was not going to do that?
Well guess who’s back? 😎
(It’s 12 parts. 12 stories with 5-12 chapters or at least 100k of word vomit over each of the movies. I hate it here.)
Also I’m still writing the Parent!Loki series. I’m almost finished with the part about Sleipnir (there isn’t much to say since Sleipnir is like the “I cheated on your mom and now I’m going to start a new family with my mistress” child) and I’m working on a second work to add on about Loki as a child being a general menace.

You know, Sigyn wasn't the only step-mom hehe 🤭
I pretent to you, when Angrboda and Loki first started dating and Angrboda meets Sleipnir for the first time!! I have no doubts she wouldn't love and adore kid Sleipnir 🥹
Tumblr media
Too bad Odin kinda adopted him and Loki probably doesn't get to see him often 🫤
