so it's fairly common knowledge by now that Odin practiced what was seen as feminine or gay magic, Seidr, which involved crossdressing and maybe even being the bottom to a man during sex. Odin may even have a woman's form he changes into to perform the practice. He and Loki are both trickster gods of a sort, after all. Any head cannons for your au you might have in that regard?
Oh my! This ask needed to be answered for so long! Sorry for the late response <3 and here's a little few headcannons.
So I had a few ideas I've never pushed, since I have focused a lot on Loki, but one of the ideas I had was that both trickster would infiltrate Olympus to spy on them. In some myths Odin would transform himself and pass as a old man or woman to see for himself what's going on so that's the mindset I'm having
Tumblr media
When they infiltrate they have two way of going:
Odin plays the journalist/paparazzi with his crows. I drew a female version of him there, which he would do so people don't link the missing eye and crows right away. Also, since he's the Allfather, if he gets caught Olympians may be MORE than pissed at this blatant spying. (oooh political tension yes~)
Loki goes about as being eye candy and over the top as a bimbo to see if anyone would slip around them.
To be honest, I see Odin doing this really when shit is about to hit the fan (exemple: Kore's trial or right after Kronos's attack) most of the time he has to be in Asgard which is why Loki is usually the one lurking about. Plus he has his crows he can send, but in my headcannons it's more to keep and eye on Loki themself.
Tumblr media
(Since I draw Loki with elf-like ears I like the idea that people would assume they're a nymph before they just go "Wtf, no?")

Demeter did not like Loki.
Not many gods liked Loki when you think about it. Many of them actually hated them. Demeter didn’t hate them yet.
But she was starting to as she saw them looming over her newborn.
Hated to see those long blood red strand of hair tickling her child who stared back, unknowingly, at the god of Chaos itself. A god who has walked among them, took notes about them, flanked by two crows, and reported everything to the Allfather of Asgard. A thief of secrets. As if Olympus didn’t have enough problem with Eris wrecking chaos when she was awake.
Plants and roots twirled to turned into pointy spears, ready to strike the intruder. To pierce the flesh of the jötnar without a second of hesitation. They were not welcome in Demeter’s domain.
Yet, as Kore pulled on the jötun's braid, Demeter was surprise to see tears twinkling inside the Trickster's eyes. Grief had settled on this god’s face instead of the trademark smirk they bore around others. Trembling fingers delicaltly pried the hair away from those little hands. Slowly, they rose up and stepped away of the newborn.
“I have daughter too you know?” Loki whispered. So low that at first it took the godess a few seconds to understand him. Loki turned towards her, uncaring of the weapons she had pointed at them. “A wonderful little girl. But she’s away now. Far… Away.”
Demeter felt a clench in her chest in sympathy and pity…
Yes, thoughout realms and kingdoms it was known that Hela, the daughter of chaos, became the Queen of Helheim unwillingly, Queen of the dead of the northmen. The tales of her disfigured face travelled far and wide. The ones about her fate, the one Asgardians gave her, followed closely behind. Do not get on the bad side of Asgard. So be it if some ally's family is caught in the crossfire as long as it is for Asgard.
“She’s beautiful. You can be proud Godess of the seasons” Loki whispered as they looked back at the baby. “A cute little rose bud,” they chuckled softly when the baby cooed back at them. “I see why Odinn was interested in her.”
Demeter felt fear shackle her limbs for a split second before she made the roots strike.
No.
No no no, it can’t be! Not her precious daughter barely born!
She couldn’t bare to imagine what the Allfather interest was into a child. But that man was cruel and unfair towards his own people.
You must never catche Odin’s eye before a battle! She heard humans saying. Don’t catch Odinn’s eye!
For if he takes a liking to you, he won’t protect you. He’ll let death catch you so you can stand by his side in Valhöl
Loki sidestepped the attack and rushed out of her range. Their feet barely touching the ground as they leaped, slid between plants and trees. Off into the distance, to report back to their brother probably. Demeter rushed and picked her child into her arms, shaking. Not her sweet daughter, no one will ever touch her.
Out of Demeter’s domain, Loki stopped and open their cape. Gently grasping the head tied to their waist, they lifted it so they could face Mimir’s white eyes.
“Say it again. The future you saw of this child, please, repeat it.”
And Mimir answered:
I see the the maiden, born from roses
I see her, shackled in thorns.
For the care and love from others will be bitter poison
And the beauty she bares will earn her scorns.
She will shine and be wanted,
And taken for granted.
She will break and wrath will take
What sweet innocence she had left.
She will be crowned with love and dread.
All hail the maiden and Queen of the dead.
Loki willed themself not to squeeze the head in anger as the words tumbled from his lips. Angry? At who? At the fate that the little rose bud seemed to have and has yet to face? Or was it at himself?
He couldn’t protect his daughter. Demeter will not be able to save her’s. For the words that tumbled out of Mimir’s mouth are laced with a bitter truth that cannot be changed.
But I see something that may change the stakes.
Loki jumped and nearly dropped the head. They blinked as Mimir continued, with a offended frown at Loki’s handling.
Years to come she will face others and herself.
If allies stand by her side she may have what it takes
To stand, fight and shield any kindness she’ll have left.
Beware, before spring’s arrival, there will be a harsh winter
And as an Asgardian, Loki, think twice before your share your fire.
The trickster stared at the wise man eyes before looking above in the sky. Twin crows were circling above them. As the birds flew down to land newt to them they sighed.
“Of course I will. Always will, always have.”
They knelt down and offered a hand for Huginn to jump on. It rubbed it’s beak against the jötnar’s sleeve with contempt. Loki sighed.
It was time to go back home.

(Few sketches I've done in regards of this little piece of fanfic between Demeter and Loki)
(This is the "first" meeting between Loki and Persephone, but I'm working on the second meeting, years after this one ^^)

Hey Pal.
I know it has been awhile but how's it been?
Hey anon! Very kind of you to ask! :D Sadly it's been a bit rough for me in my personal life. I have tons of ideas for this blog but I'm just exhausted when I pick up the pen to go to it. Well you know what they say: "New year, new me" hopefully that's true and I'll be able to go back to drawing those little characters I love so much!
Again thank you for asking! It truly warmed my heart :)

Ever thought what would it be like if Loki ever dared to interact with Hades' Brothers?
Tumblr media
Oh well, yes I did! (so sorry for the late response :( life been busy)
Well, Loki wouldn't really dare to interact with zeus or poseidon because he's quite scared of them. Zeus controlling thunder he's in the eye of the trickster like a Thor, but a Thor who has even more reasons to be violent with him. Since Loki is the blood-brother of Odinn he's at the same time dangerous for Lore Olympus but also, could be leverage against Asgard.
Loki would be pretty tame if he's surrounded by Hades brothers but wouldn't hesitate to snark back at them- before running away.
He could fight them, he's a strong trickster but since I've always seen their interaction inside Olympus, I don't think he would be that reckless.
I like the idea that Asgard and Olympus aren't exactly on best terms with each other, so having a trickster norse god wondering around isn't really welcomed. They don't mind them in the mortal realm but unless they're explicitly invited, both sides don't want to hang out with each other.
Tumblr media
Also, in one of my headcannons, norse gods dress up a bit like bikers and have none of that classy attitude you see in Olympus. So they clash very easily. Especially since in many myths I've read, norse gods have NO CHILL when insulting each other (those who've read the Lokasenna knows what I'm talking about).

Demeter and her lovers.
Iasion- an agricultural hero, demigod and the springtime consort of Demeter in the Samothracian Mysteries. There was a theory before that Demeter will meet Iasion when she got banished after the trial so I'm gonna go with that kind of storyline. He met, assisted and loved her during those 10 years.
Tumblr media
Mekon- a beautiful Athenian man and a mortal lover of Demeter but she turned him into poppies for his own preservation. There's not much info about him other than that but I'm making him into a prince and someone that she loved in her earlier years.
Btw, these guys don't know each other cuz they don't live in the same time period but I wanted to edit together.

Loki and Demeter (LO Headcannons) #1
“I can explain.”
“Can you?”
“If you give me thirty seconds to think of a lie”
I was looking up incorrect quotes and this would be Demeter and Loki’s relationship in a nutshell since they have many things in common but their personnality are extreme opposites.
It would be so interesting to have these two talk together, especially since Loki really lived what Demeter fears the most: the harm of their own children.
But even with this, it’s not in Loki’s nature to overprotect on the contrary. Go out there, stir some shit up, that’s the only way you’ll learn. He would rather go and murder whoever harm his kids (unless he’s stuck like with his loyalties to Asgard) than shelter them. As a God of the vikings this isn’t really surprising.
Demeter wouldn’t understand how he could claim loving his children let letting them face such terrible fates and Loki don’t see how building walls around Persephone is going to help her in front of real danger.
But deep down, I know these two would respect and understand each other more than their peers. After all, they’re both mothers.

Do you have any headcanons for Loki's Wives in the LO Universe?
I'm often more of a Loki/Sigyn shipper than a Loki/Angrboda shipper tbh.
Oh my, do I? (yes, so much xD)
First and foremost In my headcannons Loki is polyamourous and also genderfluid. It’s accepted and known in this universe.
For Angrboda and Loki:
Angrboda is his first wife and it’s quite the friendship/romance type. They’re both jötunn and spend a lot of time playing with magic and runes.
Since Loki is bound to Asgard he spends less time with her because she disagrees on his loyalties but that doesn’t mean they stopped caring about each other.
In the LO universe they’re still allies but it’s strained due to their children’s fate in which Loki failed to protect them. Angrboda
I sadly don’t have much more about them :( even though I love Angrboda
For Sigyn and Loki,
Their relationship was more complicated to start off with. I’ve imagined more of an arranged marriage for them. The classic trope strangers to lovers really.
At first Sigyn was really scared and repelled by the jötunn, completely influence by the horror stories Asgard has spread about jötunheim.
After their wedding, Loki didn’t even dare to touch her because she was scared of him. He’d rather leave her for months to travel with Odinn because he didn’t see the point in staying with someone who hated him.
It’s only with time and with the few moments they shared when he stayed at their home that Sigyn got to understand him better and started to realise that maybe he is more than the rumors that surrounds him.
Sigyn stays an ansgardian so she’s a good fighter. I’d like to think that Loki and her will fight side by side and can protect each other just as well.
He’s a wild card and she’s very soft and peaceful. They complement each other even if it means they butt heads more than most.
During the events of LO, Sigyn would be pregnant. She’s expecting and doesn’t really like to see Loki so interested in Olympus’s mess.  Plus Loki and her are both worried of how their children will be welcomed by the other gods since that until now no offspirng of Loki’s have been kindly treated.
In the event this LO au, Kore has to take shelter in Asgard and since she’s quite close to Loki she’ll get to spend time with Sigyn who’ll be a sort of guide in the politics of the Asgardians.
Tumblr media
(Here’s a little prototype of Sigyn’s design. All bundle up and cosy with her husband)

I want to start drawing more crossover with Loki and Persephone but I don't know if I keep doing funny sketches or start a serious series of comics about their relationship...
As of I had time to one or the other HA (why am I so unorganized :( )

Would Loki ever dare to babysit Hades and Persephone's Children if the Lord and Lady in the Underworld are away and Loki has to be the one to watch over their Children?
Oh hell yeah he would! He was a dad and a mom, so he knows his way around kids (I mean, he had the wolf Fenris, Jormungandr the sea serpent, Hel herself, Sleipnir a horse and normal twins. He has TONS of experience) also he actually loves spending time with children I bet.
It's Hades who isn't found of having Asgard's Trickster handling his kids. He knows he would never hurt them but... This jötunn is too unpredictable !
Tumblr media
Kore trust him not to do anything *too* bad with her children.

So if Loki is like you know, the Third Wheel, how exactly would Thor feel about it now that the Trickster God is with the King and Queen of the Dead?
At first he wouldn't really care, in a "wow Loki keeps weird company" But since in the myths Loki and Thor spend quite some time together on adventures, I think the God of thunder would be upset that his uncle-sidekick is going off and about with his new friends.
Tumblr media
Also Asgard is way too calm without it's local trickster...

Ok, sooooo-
I have a Question; does this AU of Lore Olympus feature Other Gods besides than Norse Mythos?
Is there any Egypt/Japanese/Celtic ect Gods do you plan to feature?
I'm honestly hoping to see either Osiris, Set, or Anubis if you ever would dare want to touch the Others.
I'll need to do more research but yes, this AU considers that all the other pantheons exist and have to coexist and interact with each other to some degree (Even if they rather not xD)
I also love the idea of all the gods of death from different pantheons all bundling together at a meeting going "okay so these souls are yours, they died while trying to conquer my people's capital. Or these travellers are mine, they got attacked by bandits in your domain. By the way, there's this plague running across the earth we may have more work on our hands this year... "
I wish I had more time to draw them all, but I have to confess I'm concentrating about Loki's meddling in LO and how he would influence/start shit up in this storyline. X)
Tumblr media
(I had to do a little sketch at the thought of Anubis. He isn't impress by Hades new Queen. Not exactly the same vibe than most of them)

What exactly does Hades think of Hel if he ever met Loki's Daughter?
In my headcannon, Hel and Hades are kinda colleagues since they both have realms dedicated to the dead. Norse Gods and Olympus try not to meddle with each other but these two have too.
To be fair, I think Hades relates a lot to Hel and is kind to her: she was exiled and left behind by Asgard and is stigmatized because of her father, Loki. Plus, unlike Hades who has to take care of every dead (heroes and normal people alike) Hel only gets those unworthy of Valhalla with make other gods look even down at her. Hecate and Hades don't treat her like a freak with is quite refreshing for her. (But Hel is wary of every Gods since her banishment and doesn't relate or see them as friends. Yay trust issues...) One of the reason Hades doesn't like Loki at first it's because he thinks he abandoned his daughter to her fate
(Have a little character design I made for her :3)
Tumblr media
So all in all, Hades quite appreciate her. Later on he'll learn that Loki misses terribly his daughter (and other children) and cannot go to Helheim without risking Asgard's wrath, making Hades less cold towards the trickster
Tumblr media
Hel doesn't really care about other gods she just misses her family :(

Ok, ngl, but I really like the idea where Loki is sorta part of the Third Wheel in Hades and Persephone's relationship XD
Oh he is definitely the Third Wheel, and he's loving every second of it! (Since it kinda pisses Hades off to see him around)

@crystaljupiterstone Indeed I did not took that into account! Which does negate my comment about how Hera could have choosen to follow Hades. Thanks for your input! :)
Some thoughts on Lore Olympus (#1)
I had those wondering thoughts after I saw the tumblr of @nymphsupremacy and how they talked about Zeus’s characters. To be fair, it was refreshing to see someone who liked Minthe and Zeus because I also found them interesting (and their art is also really great, but that’s another subject)
When you go into the tag of LO you can very easily fall on people who bashed those characters and it tends to put me off looking thought the tag  because I really love those characters, especially Minthe. (even if her actions aren’t good, I admit, but she was a complex character and there was so much more to her than just being Persephone’s rival)
Anyway this is not today’s debate. Back to Zeus. SO, I’m not an anti Lore Olympus but I do like to nitpick details that bugs me in a comic/story/show so here I am. (after all I did a side-blog for LO so why not do some ranting post amongst other things)
As of right now, I wanted to talk about how Zeus’ character in the webtoon is being bashed quite harshly especially concerning his relationship with Hera.
We’re not going to be hypocrites, cheating is bad but Rachel Smythe didn’t paint Hera as guiltess from what I’ve read and I’m slightly sad she didn’t explicitly make their relationship more complex.
In the earlier chapters, Hades and Hera shared a kiss when Hera was tending Hades’s wounds when he was freed of Kronos. After they won against the Titan, Hera showed again more trust or at least, went to Hades for comfort.
(Also, Hades says at this point that Zeus wasn’t traumatized like the rest of them and that is something else I thought was of bad taste for his character. Trauma doesn’t have to be physical to have impact, and it would have been interesting to see how Zeus dealt with the war and the responsibility of being one to lead them against Kronos (that, that doesn’t things, bad shit, to a person)
My question is (after going off on a tangent, sorry about that) then as follows. Did Hera ever loved Zeus? It is obvious she had attraction for both brothers, she even cheated on Zeus with Hades so why did she accept to marry Zeus?
Let’s see it this way: What if Zeus was aware that Hera preferred or had an attraction for his brother. What if it never left her, this yearning for another, and Zeus could see that she’ll never truly love him. In a very poor life choice, this makes him turn towards cheating. Worsening his relationship with his wife. As someone who loves complicated characters it never sits well for me when there’s these little bits of character development spread around but are then forgotten by the majority (maybe that’s just me! But I see a lot of people bitching on Zeus and I’m like “Meh, he’s a cheater but Hera isn’t that great either when you think about it.”) It would have been a better depiction of a toxic relationship where both are hurting each other, making their own mistakes and not being able to find a middle ground. I mean, imagine an episode in couple-therapy talking about they’re issues, it would have been more interesting for both their characters.
Hera could have chosen to follow Hades. Or could have refused to be the Queen of Olympus as Zeus’ wife. In Hades words “Zeus offered her to be the Queen of the Gods. And who could refuse that” (I think that’s what he said, I… There’s a lot of chapters and I didn’t check it word for word, mea culpa) Sure it wouldn’t fit with the whole Greek mythology narrative and I’m not there to tell RS that she should have written it any other way. I’m slightly more put out by the bias there is against some characters.
Oh my gosh this was very long, sorry about that, I tried my best to make it short but I hope you find these thoughts interesting anyway or worth reading, thanks for taking time for reading and have a nice day. :)
