Nine Lokean Virtues:
Tumblr media
1. Truth: Be real. Be true to yourself and allow others follow their own truth.
2. Humor: Learn to find the humor in things, especially yourself.
3. Humility: If you need to tie your balls to a goat to accomplish your goals, suck it up buttercup.
4. Cunning: Try to think outside the box. Don't make a mess so big that you can't figure your way out of it.
5. Transformation: Don't be afraid of change, because that's how we grow. Don't be afraid of self-examination and listen to constructive criticism.
6. Creativity: Create awesome stuff. Try new things out. If you don't like it, blow it up and try again.
7. Accountability: You are the only one in charge of your own destiny, your own life, and your own actions.
8. Empathy: Try to see things from more than one perspective. Shape-shift into someone else's shoes before you pass judgement.
9. Experimentation: A mistake is only a mistake if you do it twice. Until then, everything is an experiment.

Persephone: Hades, say sorry to Loki.
Hades: ... My apologies Loki.
Persephone: And now, Loki, say sorry to Hades.
Loki: ...
Loki: Unfuck you I guess.

I just want to talk about Loki as a character within mythology, Marvel comics, MCU and other stories.
I don't have the biggest problem with discussing the Loki show ( not a huge fan, but I'll listen, to an extent), but I come on here, and I feel like 90% of the posts about Loki are about the whole 'S*lki vs. Lok*us' civil war y'all conjured up.
Even after the show is over, you guys are still fighting about this? Seriously?
Looks like I'm going to have to do some filtering.

i saw a meme about hades and how movies make him seems like the devil and how in myths he wasn't like that, and in comments there was something like "yes, he and loki as misunderstand not pure evil" and one of the replys was how loki actually myth loki was pure evil bc he started the ragnarok (which tbh, if people had treated my children like this, i would start it as well) and was father of beasts, like..... one thing i noticed is that there is always this hate any-loki sentiment, no matter what loki we are talking about, it is on myths, on how bad myth loki is treated by other gods, it is on mcu, on how bad mcu treat loki, and even in the comics (that pride comic loki was no sense and ooc to me, given that agent of asgard and sorcerer supreme was still fresh on my head).
It is a thing that always existed, and so few people seems to have eyes beyond what is directly spoonfed, like so few in anywhere, about any loki
It's an insanely anti Pagan sentiment that is being expressed through those views. Because paganism, ANY pagan religion, encourages people to view things beyond black and white Abe see the colour in things. It was the same fro Greek myth and it is the same for Norse myth too. Hinduism, as far as I've noticed is the one religion that still maintains that, because we have pretty much maintained our myths with their original meanings. And if you noticed in all pagan religions, trickster gods and spirits the complicated characters are actually greatly revered and worshipped for many reasons. So it's not far fetched to believe that Loki was MEANT to be seen the same way.
Now however, in Loki's case the one unique little snag we seem to have run into which tainted chances of Loki being interpreted in Pagan sense FOREVER, came in the form of Snorri Sturllson (not spelling it right, don't care, I'm sleepy) who completely rewrote all the Norse myths for a CHRISTIAN AUDIENCE. Which unfortunately has also affected the way many modern pagans see him (by this I mean Christians who converted to paganism but couldn't leave behind the black and white brainwashing) I'm fairly certain that if Lord Shiva was re-written for a Christian audience, they would have framed him as an evil, butter stealing, shape shifting liar who's destined to bring doom to the world. (because similar to Loki ushering in Ragnarok, Lord Vishnu takes an Avatar to usher the end of every earthly cycle). Except in our culture, this is not a bad thing. We have a version of Ragnarok and it's a thing that in spite of scaring us... Is also something we know SHOULD happen. It ushers in a cleansing.
That's the difference between pagan teachings and Christian influenced ones. Reading Ragnarok as a Hindu pagan made me confused. Because why was it framed as a bad thing? It was clearly meant to denote the end of a cycle that was already teetering on the edge of ruin and the beginning of world, cleaned, fresh and new... Which in my culture was always necessary. We were brought up being taught about balance more than black and white (whether or not others actually understood that, is on them).
Loki, a lot like Lord Vishnu is a change bringer. The only constant for both is change. They exist in fluid states. They are often justified in their actions in some way or the other. And if they don't, they pay for it. The difference is one is vilified and his stories turned into a queerphobic, Othering feast, while the other is worshipped, celebrated and revered throughout a whole culture. That's because one fell into the hands of Christians and the other was held firmly in the grasp of the Hindus who refused to let him go even under threat to their lives (referencing the colonial era and attempted mass conversions).
If Loki were kept in the hands of Pagans, I'm fairly certain he would not be suffering what he is today. Neither in the comics, the MCU or even in myth.
And yes that latest Pride issue was ooc, awful and gave off major queerphobic stereotypes.

so i’ve kinda been working with loki (barely at all, i’ve never really made an offering or altar, i have dedicated jewelry and stuff to him) but i’ve noticed signs from him recently. dreaming about foxes, seeing flies and a spider and today i went to do something and prayed he wouldnt try and use a spider to scare me because i know he likes to fuck around. He didn’t scare me with a spider but instead an owl (owls are bad luck in my culture and i do not like them at all) I was having a cigarette and heard an owl hooting, asked if it was him and asked for a sign and then i heard a squirell talking and it sounded like it was laughing at me and i instantly knew it was him.
he was with me for a few minutes, i felt comfortable and calm as soon as i came inside, also felt like someone was touching me but then it stopped and suddenly my chest got tight and i felt anxiety rising up. I asked for confirmation that it was Loki still here, because i didn’t feel it was and i read that other trickster gods like to pretend to be Loki.
I asked them to show me angel numbers, they showed me 5555, asked them to show me a redhead on TV and they showed me three different redheads. I still felt off tho. So i grabbed a necklace prayed for it to be blessed and used it to ask specific questions.
do you have 4 children with sigyn, they answered yes and my stomach dropped. asked if he helped protect asgard by building them a barrier and he said no. I knew right then they werent loki so i asked them to leave and my pendulum stopped moving, i kept asking and they just kept telling me to rephrase until finally they gave up when i asked if it really is loki, it just barely swung towards no.
n e ways, i feel the deity is still here (unless it’s just my anxiety) and was wondering how i get a deity to leave me alone and or identify who this deity was
