I’m honestly so scared of getting an elucien book because of the possibility of sjm ruining lucien’s character the same way she did with cassian and pretty much every other male character.I need lucien to fight back against the bad writing because if his character gets assassinated I’ll lose my mind.Pls god let lucien escape the sjm toxic mate writing 🗣️🙏.

I've seen so many people defending the inner circle like "oh but she was spending their money" like, ok, then the next logical step is cutting her off from the money and not, i don't know LOCKING HER UP?????????

or when people say that they "did it for her own good" cause she was a danger to herself as if tamlin didn't try to lock feyre up using that same reasoning

My biggest fear for the next ACOTAR book is a Tamlin-esq character assassination of Lucien’s character. I don’t think it’ll happen but if it does I will be devastated. If she turns him into an asshole in order to get us to accept Elain’s rejection of him I will cry. 😭

I love how Ember stood up to Rhysand for Nesta, I really do, but I found it so funny how SJM has to give something to him anyway.

When Ember says that "humans are seen as cattle" or something like that and Rhysand say "not here, we respect humans" and she thinks that something in him makes her believe it's true I'm like: why? What does? After everything you've seen/hear him do/say what makes you believe that?

I just know this was SJM way to try and not villanize too much Rhysand in this bonus story, but boi it fails greatly.

”We want a rejected mates trope !!” who the hell is we 🤨⁉️.I cannot think of something more depressing to read about than two mates rejecting their bond.Especially when one person still longs for the other and has already lost the person they thought was their mate in such a tragic and brutal way.Now their actual mate wants nothing to do with them to the point where they want to reject their mating bond? Fucking ouch.Just something about two people whose literal souls are tied to one another ending up with other people doesn’t really read as romantic to me.

I understand that sjm might want to explore the rejected mates trope but why does lucien have to be the guinea pig?? I cannot think of one character less deserving to go through this trope than lucien.Not just because of his history with jesminda but because he genuinely hasn’t had a moment of peace since the beginning of this series.He does not deserve to have his mate reject him on top of everything else he just doesn’t.I want elain to be happy but if that’s gonna cost my favorite character his happiness and possibly his sanity then i’m allowed to be a little annoyed.

If elain really does reject the bond with lucien I don’t wanna be here to read that scene and I definitely don’t want a lucien pov of that.Can you imagine the fucking anguish and heartbreak of a scene like that yeah no thank youuuu.
