UPDATE: I found a higher quality version of the model sheet after giving a quick look at Brian A. Miller's Twitter/X account (as Mo's post mentioned that it came from there). The Instagram variant will be replaced by the Twitter/X one, but I will make a reblog of this post which contains the former.

Literally just today, Mo Willems had uploaded a SITBC model sheet of himself from 2000, as well as a bunch of info regarding the series' press on "The Critic's Tour" in The Ritz Carlton, Los Angeles.

Here’s a model sheet from 23 years ago when Cartoon Network was launching my short-lived series, SHEEP IN THE BIG CITY.

The gag for the press was that the show was created by myself and an actual sheep with whom I’d been a writing partner for years. We even had a live sheep share the stage with me when we presented the show at Up Fronts in LA in early 2001. Wonderfully, some reporters fell for it. To be fair to them, the sheep bleated at all the right times and was such a great performer he literally ate the scenery.

The image of me w/ the puppet was from actual model sheets. I wanted Sheep to be animated as if he were a puppet, which would make him look all the more alien and oblivious.

The show was fun and a flop, but I’m surprisingly touched by how often a fan lets me know how much they enjoyed the show.

Creator self model sheets from 2000. SHEEP had just premiered. PPG & EEE were in production and on air. I don’t believe Genndy or John D ever did one. I like how everything about these reflect the man behind them.

Regarding accusations against Mo Willems

UPDATE: @sheepinthebigcity just informed me that Gerard Way didn't claim that he made SITBC, but rather came up with an idea for his own show (The Breakfast Monkey) when he was working on SITBC. While my points against the claims that he made SITBC still stand, the ones that suggest that Gerard made the claims himself are not true and I will no longer stand by them. As a result, this post has been edited to take the blame off him. I would like to apologize for this fuck up and to Gerard Way personally.

Just today, I have saw some people on Twitter/X make the claim that Gerard Way had created Sheep in the Big City and Mo Willems stole the idea for it.

Note: The names had been covered because I DO NOT want them getting harassed.

These claims are false and I have evidence to disprove it:

Evidence #1 - The Pitch

If Gerard really made SITBC then why would he ask Mo Willems, of all people, to make a whole pitch for him to pitch to Cartoon Network, despite him claiming that he only pitched it to Mo? The only thing that ties this up is when Gerard says this in an interview for art school students:

"I pitched this to a single individual. Like I'm sitting there, doing all the voices and he's loving it, he's losing it. You know, he's just, you know, he really wants us get this thing made. So I agreed to allow them the rights to shop this thing around, which you often have to do because like I can't call Cartoon Network, like they can."

Even then, there is no evidence that backs up this claim. In addition, what evidence that does exist that involves Gerard was him helping to work on Sheep in the Big City as well as being an intern at Cartoon Network at the time. None of which said that he had the idea.

As an intern at Cartoon Network before starting his band, Way worked on the animated show “Sheep In The Big City,” earning $50 a week. “It was really hard to eat,” he says “I was working eight hours a day and I was the photocopy dude.”

Evidence #2 - Concepts

The concepts of the show, even without the pitch for it, disproves Gerard's whole claim about creating Sheep in the Big City and that Mo Willems stole it.

For one thing, there is a whole pile of concept art made back in 1998 drawn by Mo Willems, not a single one made by Gerard, that Mr. Warburton found and uploaded on his blog:

Secondly, in the interview, Gerard never explains any concept or actual ideas for Sheep in the Big City, not a single one, when he was making his claim. Mo Willems, on the other hand, did provide some concepts and ideas, not only the ones that made SITBC for what it is, but also ones that never made it, in various interviews back in the 2000s.

Not once did these interviews ever bring up Gerard Way creating or even having the idea of SITBC in any way.

"If only a few people on Twitter/X are talking about it, then why do you feel the need to make this post?"

You see, I cannot let this pile of misinformation spread around and get into Mo's personal life.

This was NOT made as a harassment campaign against Gerard Way nor the people who believe in these claims, but rather to prove that Mo Willems did create SITBC and is innocent.

Hello Lovely Followers!

My witch name is Lavender Snow & I’ve got some things I want to share with you~

My name in the muggle world is Kayci Rose Dietz-Macias.

I’m 23 years old and I was born in January 4th.

I’m 50% Ecuadorian, 25% German, and 25% Irish.

I’m an eclectic witch who’s been practicing the craft for 2 years and some months.

There’s still so much I need to learn about the craft. That being said, I really really love the witchblr community for how much it’s taught me about the craft and for how it’s connected me to sooo many wonderful souls (all around the world).

In the muggle world, my profession would be categorized as “Artist”. I act, I dance, I write, I sing, I edit, I model etc.

One of the works I’m proudest of is my TV sitcom “Stuck in The Broom Closet”. It’s a witchy sitcom that I wrote and am still trying to finish. I’ve currently got almost two episodes on paper and I’m aiming to have five or more complete by the time I turn 24. This is because a dream of mine is to have SITBC picked up, produced, and to have myself star in it as the main character (Scarlett Rodriguez who is 25). I don’t want to age out of being able to play my very own dream role. You also need around five episodes to be able to pitch a show to network. The network will most likely want to see how the story arc will play out.

I’m so obsessed with my own characters from SITBC that I created a tumblr account for Scarlett @tonicwater-magick

One of my goals in life is to sprinkle positivity in as many people’s lives as I can. If you head over to my Instagram (@kayci.r0se) you can read some of my captions if you need some motivation & inspiration. You can also just head over there to see some aesthetically pleasing photos.

I have a YouTube Channel (Kayci’s World) that basically gives you a sneak peak into my world and what goes on within it. You might be seeing Scarlett post more often because I’ve actually gotten tons of new ideas for SITBC. I’ve been bingewatching “Charmed” and that show was my original inspo for Scarlett Rodriguez/Tonicwater so it makes 100% sense that now I’m getting re-inspired to continue writing. Gonna sit down tmmrw and try to finally finish the script for episode 2! Excited to see what I come up with & excited to see Scarlett, Brina, Jasper, Amythest, and Tommy develop more as characters.

While browsing through some old archived pages of Cartoon Network for @sitbc-archive, I sometimes forget how much lost media there is off the show, and it's pretty sad.

Notable ones include some of the "Dig It" sections, and Mo Willems' comments on DOC (Department of Cartoons) about the show.
