summary: bucky, y/n and the pte parents.

Y/N’s mouth was drier than every single desert in the world. All she could hear was the sound of her heart pounding against her ribcage as she stared at him. She tried opening her mouth a few times but her words got stuck in her throat, all that would sum from the vibrations of her vocal chords were small wimpers and cut off sounds. Bucky, on the other hand, appeared cooler as he usually was. He was unbothered by the sentence that had just left his mouth, staring at her as if he’d told her a joke or a secret. There was this ... this sense that no matter what she said was gonna end up being the wrong answer. If she told him that yes she’d had her hand in the middle of her legs at the thought of him in sweatpants she was surely fired and if she denied it she would come off as a liar and then she would also surely be fired. Whatever astonishing words came out of her mouth would get her fired and she needed this job. She needed to look out for Sadie, she needed ... she didn’t know why needed to stay here but she needed to. Luckily for her, and unluckily for him, a small little voice interrupted their stand off - if it could even be called that.

- Sadie. - Y/N walked past Bucky like a torpedo, lowering down to Sadie’s height. The little girl had sleep in her eyes and was dragging her favourite blankie and stuffed teddy. - What’s wrong, baby?

She merely looked at her au pair before holding her arms up, signalling she wanted to be picked up. Y/N cooed before picking her up, knowing exactly what it was that she wanted. She kissed the top of Sadie’s head, brushing her hair away from her face.

- Monsters? - she asked and the two year old nodded. - Uhm, they just don’t learn don’t they?

Bucky had seen Y/N act with his daughter before, actually, he’d seen it plenty of time before but this time something clicked inside of him. He wasn’t sure what it was but something about seeing Y/N be so good with his daughter made his heart skip. He followed the two into Sadie’s room as Y/N began to look around for the mysterious “monsters”.

- They know I’m back so don’t worry. - she laid Sadie down in bed. - I’ll make sure they don’t come in ever again.

- You promise?

- Of course, baby. They will never hurt you, you’re too strong. Now you have to go to sleep, ok?

- Why?

- Because you’ll be tired if you don’t, darling. Tell you what, you go to sleep and tomorrow you can help me make Mickey Mouse pancakes. Sounds good?

- Chocolate chip?

- We can put whatever you want in them. - she pulled the covers up to Sadie’s shoulder, arranging the teddies next to him. - Goodnight, Sisi. Love you to the moon and back.

- And more. - she smiled before snuggling against her pillow.

Bucky held in a sigh, the mere idea that he was stealing this experience from Sadie. Her real mum was probably too busy parading bars and wasting whatever money was left in her father’s credit card rather than care about his own daughter. She was sweet, too sweet for her mother and even too sweet for him. She deserved better.

- Night daddy!

- Night, princess. I’ll keep a watch out for the monsters. - Bucky blew her a kiss before turning off the lights.

As the lights went off in Sadie’s room and they walked into the hallway, it dawned on her that she no longer had an excuse to avoid Bucky and his question. He seemed to sense that, his mind running between pressing her for an answer of letting her be. He chose the latter one, smirking at her before returning to his bedroom. Y/N swore she could feel her heart thumping against her ribcage as he closed the door to his bedroom? She was off the hook? Right? She was off the hook, so she returned to her own bedroom before he came back to ask why she had been masturbating a few nights ago. She didn’t think she moaned his name, did she? Yet again, why didn’t he look upset? Was he trying to tease her and if so why would he? Maybe he wasn’t teasing her, perhaps all he wanted was to show how incredibly out of the game she was. She didn’t like one night stands, it wasn’t her type of thing. It wasn’t as if she couldn’t find one? Well, to be honest she wasn’t sure, she’d never tried it before.

Those questions haunted her mind until she went to sleep and maybe they would’ve kept haunting her if it wasn’t for the fact that morning time meant Y/N had to find a way to get Sadie ready, dressed, and out the house for kindergarten which in itself was the impossible task. She thought that perhaps with Bucky around, she’d be scared into not running around yet as she found herself in a chase around the couch with Bucky, she realised she was wrong.

- Sadie. - Bucky put himself over the couch to try and pick her up but she slipped through his fingers, continuing her race. - It’s kindergarten time.

- No.

- Sadie Barnes, if you don’t stop it I swear there won’t be any Bluey for a week.

- No Bluey?

- No Bluey. - Y/N crossed her arms. Sadie looked between Bucky and the au pair, expecting her daddy to lay down the law but he merely shrugged, clearly on Y/N’s side. She stopped her running, walking slowly to the door, before turning around to face the two. - Did you change your mind, Sadie?

She nodded grabbing her yellow raincoat before pouting. Y/N rolled her eyes, smiling before she grabbed her own coat, opening the door and ushering her down and into Bucky’s car. Bucky merely followed, afraid if he said something it would throw off the routine. Instead, he just watched in awe of how she handled his daughter, even in the car as they were both subjected to half hour of the same show until they got to kindergarten.

- Your backpack. - Bucky called out for Sadie before she could run to her friends. - Now you be nice at school, yeah? Daddy can’t pick you up today but Y/N will and I will meet you girls for dinner.

- Bye daddy. - she hugged her dad before rushing away.

- Is she always this happy when she gets to school? - Bucky stood by Y/N’s side as they watched Sadie mingle with the other kids.

- Usually.

- Just the parents I wanted to see. - Y/N rolled her eyes as she recognised the voice coming towards them. Great, just what she wanted to deal with after getting no sleep the night before. - And Mr. Barnes is here, how nice.

- Morning Michelle. - Y/N looked around, trying to find a way to escape talking to her. She was one of the PTE parents who took it a bit too seriously, actually, way too seriously. - How are you?

- I was wondering if I was gonna see you this semester, Mr. Barnes.

- Actually ... - Bucky looked down at his watch. - I have to go, I have a meeting. Do you want the car today, Y/N? I can get a taxi to work.

- It’s okay, I’m not doing any errands today. I will see you for dinner then?

- I’ll bring dinner home tonight. Something nice from the Italian place downstairs.

- Bye Sergeant Barnes.

- It’s back to Sergeant Barnes, is it? - he gave her a smile before walking back to the car and she could not deny she hadn’t stared at him as he walked away. Bucky was an attractive man, an attractive man who she hoped did not hear her moaning his name.

- If I had your husband, Y/N ... let me tell you, I wouldn’t leave his side.

- He’s not my husband, Michelle and even if he was I would have better things to do than be at his beckoning call.

- So he’s single ... - she looked over Y/N’s shoulder to his car. - Huh ... Make sure he comes to the next PTE meeting.

Was she starting to enjoy Bluey? She asked as a new episode started and the typical Australian accent filled the sound system. That had to be the only reason why she didn’t want to pull her hair off as the episodes kept going in a repeat sequence and Sadie mouthed the words along. She had to admit it was rather impressive how well she could remember the words, yet again she was sure this set of episodes had been playing for a while now.

- I’m home. - Bucky’s voice echoed through the living room and suddenly Bluey was no longer interesting for Sadie as she ran towards her dad.

- Hey, Sisi, let daddy put the food down. - Y/N followed after Sadie to help Bucky put down the takeaway bags. - Go watch Bluey while we set the table, ok?

- Kay!

- So ... - Y/N put her hands on the table, staring at Bucky. - I think the president of the PTE wants to take you out.

- What? - he stopped mid pouring his whiskey glass.

- She said if you were her husband, she would never leave the house.

- She’s hot, I could give it a try. - he chuckled.

- Ugh. - she rolled her eyes. - Please don’t have an affair with the PTE mum, it would make my job much harder.

- Aw, c’mon, maybe I can sway some things your way. - he continued joking but Y/N merely faked gagged. - That’s alright, Y/N.

- No one night stands either.

- Someone’s being awfully possessive, Y/N. It’s ok, I’ll only sleep with Michelle if you let me.

- Would you?

- Would I what?

- Sleep with Michelle.

- Why is that even relevant, Y/N? Are you trying to get some data from the PTE meetings or whatever?

- I don’t know.

- Don’t worry, Y/N. Even if I did date someone, the only way you’d lose your job would be if that person could fill your job and become Sadie’s mum.

- Oh ... Have you ever found someone? To fill that position.

- Not really. I don’t want Sadie to lose another mum and if I’m being honest I’m not entirely sure I’ve ever met someone who could be Sadie’s mum. Other than you, that is.

- I’m paid to be an au pair, Bucky and I don’t think I’m that good.

- You’re good, alright ... Sadie thinks you’re her mum.

- Sadie doesn’t think I’m her mum.

- Would it be such a bad thing? - he stood on the opposite side of the table. - To be Sadie’s mum?

- If I were Sadie’s mum, I would be your wife.

drives me nuts when people treat jin guangyao or wei wuxian like they're socialist revolutionaries like no! they're not!! in fact their respective roles in society and complacency regarding its hierarchies is why ANY of the story even happens to begin with!!!

jin guangyao doesn't hold bitterness just because he was born lower class. he is bitter because others deride him and his prostitute mother in spite of both their intelligence, skills, and efforts to climb the ladder.

why do you think we were shown scenes of other prostitutes in the brothel deriding meng shi for being literate, for "trying" so hard? why do you think we were shown scenes of anxin taunting meng yao and throwing shit at him because he was trying to learn cultivation at his mother's behest?

why do you think jin guangyao arranged for the arson of that brothel, burned to the ground with everyone except sisi inside? that's not the behavior of someone who believes in true equality and the inherent worth of sex workers as human beings!

that's the behavior of someone who thinks he's better than them. the behavior of a man who already came up on top through political games and war crimes, backstabbing and spying for the sake of the "greater good".

i won't rehash his argument to nie mingjue that he didn't have a choice-- he had some choice, but no matter what he does his class will come up and people will always assume the worst and try to hurt him for it, which forces his hand to do whatever will protect him best (hence 'no choice').

jin guangyao did everything he could to secure his own safety and a place among those already higher up. and by that point, he'd won it.

the fact that the temple rebuilt on the brothel site is to guanyin, the goddess of mercy, is even more ironic! the fact that jin guangyao has the goddess's statue carved to look like his own mother is proof that he viewed both her and himself as higher than them. more worthy than them.

of course he cared about the general welfare of others (read: the watchtowers). but consider also that there is no watchtower near yi city, which ended up being one of xue yang's playgrounds. jin guangyao can and will turn a blind eye to certain sufferings if it is convenient to him.

sure, jin guangyao made undeniable contributions to cultivation society and accessibility, but he is not at any point trying to topple existing class structures. his adherence to them is in fact integral to his own downfall in the end.

it brings with it the inevitability of society conveniently ignoring his triumphs and genuine moments of humanity to deride him once more as an evil, disgusting son of a whore once his crimes come to light.

now for wei wuxian. he's the righteous protagonist of the story and he doesn't give a fuck what society thinks, yes, but he wasn't out there trying to cause an uprising so that all the poor servant classes and lower could become cultivators. he wasn't trying to redistribute wealth or insinuate that those who are lower deserve to be viewed as equal to the gentry.

the most critical and non-explicitly stated fact of mo dao zu shi is that wei wuxian has always been resigned to his position in the social hierarchy.

his unreliable narration, especially regarding his own past and thoughts, is so damn important. he doesn't EVER tell the reader directly that people treated him any which way at their leisure because of his parents' differing social classes.

no. instead we are shown how much prestige he is afforded as cangse-sanren's son-- reputation as a talented and charming young cultivator, made head disciple of Yunmeng Jiang-- and how little respect he is given in the same breath, as the son of servant wei changze.

the way he is treated by others is as fickle as the wind. if he obeys and does as told, there is no reward. of course he did that, that was the expectation to start with! if he does anything even slightly inconvenient, there is a punishment. of course he has no manners, what else would you expect from an ungrateful son of a servant?

wei wuxian's righteousness is not a matter of adhering to principles he was explicitly taught, the way nie mingjue values honor or the way jiang cheng always tries to prove himself. wei wuxian does the right thing regardless of what the consequences are to him because his good deeds are always downplayed and his bad deeds are always singled out, no matter who or how many people were doing it with him.

he has faced this double standard since childhood. there are points in the novel where it's clear that this sticks out to wei wuxian, but does he ever fight back against that view of himself? does he EVER, at any point in the story, explain his actions and choices to jianghu society and try to debate or appeal to their sense of reason?

no. because he knows, at his very core, that any explicit deviation from their interests whatsoever will be punished.

slaughtering thousands of people is fine when they want him to do it, and when the alternative is unjust torture, re-education camps, and encroachment upon other sects' lands.

slaughtering thousands of people who are trying to paint him as evil for not going along with their genocidal plans, however, is punished.

wei wuxian knows his acceptance among the higher classes is superficial and unsteady. from the age of 10, when jiang fengmian took him in, he knew subconsciously that he could be kicked out at any time.

he knows that cultivation society doesn't care about war crimes and concentration camps and mistreatment of the remaining wen survivors of the sunshot campaign. but the right thing to do now that they aren't at wartime is to help them, plus they'd punish him either way for it, so he will.

in this regard wei wuxian is more self-aware of his position than jin guangyao. he does care about common people and he does try his best to help them as an individual. even if that ends up with him disabled, arrested, targeted in sieges, or dead.

but is he revolutionary? in the full equality, fight the establishment, rewrite laws, change social structures and people's perceptions of class sense?

no. no. he isn't.

now my knowledge of chinese society and history is fairly limited to my hindu diaspora upbringing and our shared cultural similarities ... but speaking to what i absolutely know us true, adherence to one's social class is expected.

this is rigid. efforts and merits might bring you some level of mobility, but in the end, the circumstances of your birth will always be scrutinized first, and your behavior compared to the stereotypes of where and how you originate.

mdzs is not about revolution, and none of its characters are able to truly change its society. there is no grand "maybe cutsleeves aren't inherently bad" or "i'm sorry for persecuting you and believing hearsay, you were truly a good person all along!" at the finale.

people ignore history and repeat it again with the next batch of ugly gossip and rumors.

wei wuxian, lan wangji, and luo qingyang find peace only by distancing themselves from cultivation society and its opinions.

jin guangyao and wei wuxian both cannot ever escape from others' perception of their origins and actions. regardless of their personal beliefs, they are not revolutionaries.

ITMF: Just finished ShanaStoryteller's "By Any Other Name" where resurrected WWX pretends to be a woman, and it's put me in the mood for fic where he is actually resurrected as a woman but, here's the key: he's hamstrung by the extremely patriarchal society he's in. I didn't need to know anything about what this is based on besides a quick Google but if asker is looking for something that leaves them feeling breathless with all kinds of feelings this is the first one that came to mind

ITMF fics where someone tries to harm WWX because of LWJ. Maybe they're obsessively in love with him and want to get rid of the competition, or maybe they hate him and want to hurt him in the worst way possible by hurting the one he loves most, or whatever. Bonus points if Wangxian assume that whoever seems to be coming after WWX is coming after him because he's the Yiling Laozu instead of because he's LWJs love, and so they make wrong assumptions and mistakes. I honestly feel like both Rudolf and his older sister Gisela deserved better. I’m not an expert on these two but I still know how they were treated horribly by their parents and tutors. I think that this hatred really stemmed from Sisi and Franz, but also Sophie for kind of controlling them and “taking” them away from Sisi which resulted in a cold relationship. Sisi and Franz did love them in a way, it just wasn’t the same love that they had for Marie Valerie.

There we’re probably a lot of other things contributing to Rudolf’s suicide like an unhappy marriage and depression and also the things you said like childhood trauma and pressures of being the heir and stuff like that. I feel like he felt so unloved that he just didn’t think there was a solution to his unhappiness. That’s also why he did it with his lover I think.

Keep in mind here that I am not the expert on this subject, just another opinion. @archduchessofnowhere is a much better source for this subject because it’s the subject of her blog so definitely relay this question to her. Also I’m still constantly learning about this subject so if you have a different opinion please share! Thank you for asking!

MORTAL KOMBAT 2 Fancast.

These are my fancast for the sequel! When I fancasg these characters, I’ll write down my reasoning for these! Please give feedback! I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Now before I continue any further, the director wanted accurate casting just like he did for the first film. So I will be doing the same and respecting his wishes! Anywho, let’s begin!

THE MIZ - Johnny Cage

A WWE wrestler who has an experience in Acting and his gimmick is considered based off Johnny Cage! I feel like he’d do an excellent job considering that he is a good talker and athlete in the wrestling business. Besides, for decades, he’s been very dedicated to giving the fans what they want. He stated that if he ever gets casted, he wants to get the character right due to the last detail. Currently working on his kicks and splits, and he’s old enough to play Jessica McNamee’s romantic interest who is 36. Miz is 42! I honestly don’t see a better cast than this!

YOSHI SUDARSO - Kuai Liang

Yoshi Sudarso as an actor, stuntman and martial artist. Like Joe Taslim, he is also Indonesian of Chinese descent. From my research, he is very good friends with Joe Taslim and was very interested in the role if Kuai Liang is in the script. He is also younger than Joe Taslim (He is 33 years old). You don’t see him in much, but you can find him on Power Rangers, Buffalo Boys, Project Power and Bullet Train! He’s a good actor and a very agile martial artist, and he’s VERY well acquainted with the color blue! He could become the next stuntman actor to get a huge breakout role next to Max Huang, who portrayed Kung Lao!

Also if you look closely and squint your eyes just a little bit, they kinda have a resemblance of being brothers… it could mostly be the eyebrows!

SISI STRINGER - Kitana

This should be a no-brainer fancast since Kitana and Mileena are technically twins. Sisi Stringer has shown her range in acting in Vampire Academy (Stream it on Peacock, it’s amazing.) So I wouldn’t be so surprised if she does get casted as Kitana (But I will be so happy because she deserves it!)

ANDREW KOJI - Kenshi

Andrew Koji is an up and coming British actor and martial artist of Japanese descent. Kenshi is a eurasian (Japanese) character, so this cast would be very fitting for Andrew Koji, especially since he has the look and the mysterious voice and his experience with swords (Storm Shadow in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins). I could see him pulling this off!

JOE TASLIM - Noob Saibot

Not much of a fancast since this is technically bound to happen, in all honesty. But it would be cool to see Yoshi Sudarso V. Joe Taslim! Just Yoshi living his dream of being on-screen with a friend of his, especially since he stated that Joe Taslim is like a brother to him in the Hollywood industry!

AMBER MIDTHUNDER - NIGHTWOLF

Not a genderbent fancast, but a “passing the mantle down” fancast! I have a pitch where since we saw a photo easter egg of Nightwolf in the movie, he’s most likely a legendary protector of the Matoka. Later that day, he’s gotten very old and asks the great spirit to find another warrior and pass the Nightwolf mantle down to them, then Grey Cloud can train them for the tournament. I fancast David Midthunder as Grey Cloud since David is the face model for Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat 11 and he is also Amber Midthunder’s father! So this could be perfect in my opinion.

AU ask: How does it go if XY and JGY meet again after both surviving canon with at least happy-adjacent endings?

oooh interesting. I mean, depends on their respective endings and how happy-adjacent they are/what form that takes. in honesty as far as Xue Yang goes I don't know that he's going to be anything approaching happy as long as Xiao Xingchen stays dead, unfortunately, which is a major bummer considering the, uh, likelihood of that happening. I've gone on record saying that by canon era Xue Yang is running on fumes and running out of fumes. I think Jin Guangyao's chances are a little better; I feel like while he might not be happy fleeing the country with his mother's body and never coming back, he could live with it, at least.

but taking plausibility out of the picture...I mean, honestly I think they'd both be happy for each other. or, well, Jin Guangyao would be happy for Xue Yang in a pretty straightforward way, because I do think he genuinely liked and cared about Xue Yang, he was just a huge liability and a loose cannon. I know there's theories going around that Jin Guangyao wasn't behind Xue Yang's near death at all - that he turned him loose but was basically just putting him under a cup and letting him outside - but I don't tend to go with that read because (a) I find it crunchier if there's the conflicted feelings but ultimately :\ what are the options, realistically and (b) while we do know that Jin Guangyao will leave extreme liabilities alive (Sisi, to name one), I think that also requires him feeling like he has some kind of ability to control them, and Xue Yang is just. "controlling" Xue Yang is, I think, always kind of a function of just pointing him more or less in the direction you want him to go and managing the collateral damage.

but I don't think Jin Guangyao was upset finding out he survived. I think it might even be a bit of a relief, even if it is potentially concerning for self-preservation reasons.

but yeah, all that being said, basically for Jin Guangyao I think it would be this sort of indulgent "oh that's nice for him, good" and some relief because a happy Xue Yang is a substantially less dangerous Xue Yang. and for Xue Yang I think Jin Guangyao's at least continued survival would actually really delight him, the more so if it was in spite of or after everybody turns on Jin Guangyao, because Xue Yang would be like.

YEAH!!! FUCK EM A-YAO GET YOURS :D in the enthusiastic way he gets whenever people Xue Yang likes less (most of them) end up losing out to Jin Guangyao. as far as he's concerned they deserve it and a-Yao is too nice and probably everyone involved should suffer more. he has ideas and will share them in detail and at length. whatever Xue Yang's resentments of or anger at Jin Guangyao about anything, he is always going to take his side against...pretty much anybody else in the entire cultivation world, with the exception of Xiao Xingchen (and maybe a-Qing, and maybe Song Lan by proxy, depending).

Jin Guangyao, regardless of how things played out, is probably feeling substantially less triumphant about any of it than Xue Yang is on his behalf. particularly if his "victory" just entails "survival." but that's why Xue Yang has to do it for him.

(the funny thing about all of this though is that while I said up there that Jin Guangyao's chances might be a little better, I meant that purely in terms of what he needs to survive. unfortunately, there are a lot more people a lot more invested in tearing Jin Guangyao down than there are people who care what happens to Xue Yang - so in that sense, purely practically speaking, the odds of him getting out of this story alive are, in fact, worse.)

I know it’s not healthy but I’m actually really struggling not to let rage consume me. Like I’m shaking right now.

On one hand you have Zionists, who literally either a) outright deny Israel’s war crimes b) question the validity of Palestinian sources and deaths (despite there being fcking proof) or c) justify what Israel is doing and parrot around the bullshit arguments you see everywhere that don’t really make sense, and that you can’t even discuss because there’s nothing to say

And then on the other hand, you have people who are against what Israel is doing but seem to think a ceasefire is the ultimate goal or that everything will be fine afterwards (???) and are opposed to actually changing the status quo and actually liberating the Palestinian people. It’s like “yeahhhh! Israel shouldn’t bomb Palestinians the way they are, butttt Israel itself isn’t the problem, Netanyahu is!” Like shut the fuck up, the entire system is built on oppressing Palestinians.

You do not support Palestinians right to live, exist, be free, and have their rights if you don’t support a complete change of what Israel is, and if you don’t support the liberation of Palestine.

And don’t even get me started on the “support Palestine!!!! But not resistance 🤪”

“Israel shouldn’t be carpet bombing but also they DO have the right to defend themselves” defend themselves from WHAT? The people they’re occupying?? Do Palestinians not have a right to defend themselves from those oppressing them?

They were literally mocking the millions displaced and killed in Syria. How the fuck do you champion yourself as someone who cares for human rights and stands for humanitarian issues, yet not allow that to extend to Syrians? Or Yeminis? Or Egyptians? Or Libyans? Or Lebanese people? Or literally everyone else??

Like what is wrong with the Arab شعوب that makes them so uncaring, so hypocritical, and so shitty?

I don’t understand.

The amount of pro Palestinian people either bootlicking the shit out of Assad or Sisi or whatever, like has everyone collectively lost their damn minds?

How do you fight for one group of oppressed ppl but be happy about another group being oppressed just because you personally don’t like that country?? There’s so much discrimination and it’s so frustrating to witness.

Wait a minute, what are you trying to ask? are you asking if I'm glad, or are you assuming I'm glad and asking why? this is some "do you still beat your wife" grammar. ....what part are you asking that I'm glad about? the arrest or the leaks themselves? my feelings are mixed so let me be specific for you!

I'm definitely glad Tucker Carlson made several specific statements that I can easily prove are wrong. That's very helpful.

I'm also glad the stupid cunt got arrested, for a few different reasons!

Now the Russians have a much better idea of their own casualty numbers but also how badly their intelligence security has been compromised.

Vatniks and their apologists like Tucker Carlson are already using the doctored leaks to lie out their asses.

South Korea didn't deserve this.

hopefully this will be a kick in the ass to reform security classification, which is something the US gov has needed to do for a long while now.

I honestly do abide by a policy of "do wrong right." like doing something immoral is bad. doing something immoral incompetently is even fucking worse. the leaker is so fucking stupid that on April 6, while the manhunt was on, he searched "leaks" in whatever classified database he had access to in order to find out any classified info re: said manhunt had gathered on him. He used his government position... to look into the government database... to find the government's investigation on him. I don't even use tumblr on my work laptop like... what did he expect??? if you are that fucking stupid that should be a crime in of itself.

He has very possibly ruined the lives of the poor stupid teenagers he leaked the documents to, holy fuck.

Oh, I'm also glad Sisi is getting publicly humiliated and scolded, that's very funny. So that leak I'm fine with.

I'm happy to see it confirmed that the UK was way underestimating Russian casualties. that is another leak I am okay with.

anyway, assuming the loaded question here is just a mistake of grammar and not malicious, I think overall the documents should have remained classified, but there are still good things that can come of this. but either way I wouldn't use "glad" to describe my overall feelings that the leak happened. I am glad he's been arrested, sure, because he fucked around and now he's about to find out, which is something I always love to witness.

as for his politics: he doesn't have any. he's an idiot 21yro trying to impress anonymous high schoolers online. being a contrarian edgy dumbass who watched too much minecraft youtubers is not a political view. like, look. apologies in advance to my followers but I don't often take the politics of 21yros seriously, whether that means in my like or dislike of them. I don't have strong feelings on his politics at all because I just don't think the kid is that deep.

I have so many thoughts! Part 1 because I’ll have to get back to this later. More under the cut because spoilers~

Okay time for another rambling thought on this series!

I feel like this may be an unpopular opinion, but honestly Rose ‘growing up’ and realizing how fucked the system is, and wanting to not be part of it anymore? I actually really like that. In the books she’s opposed to the younger kids becoming guardians and would fight for that, but making a choice as strong as actually walking away from it? She doesn’t do that until in the books something else happens that is slightly more extreme and closer to home. I’m just going like hell yeah Rose, leave those fuckers, build your own life.

That being said, Mason in the books did sort of rub me wrong, you know sometimes just a bit too “I am a nice guy why won’t Rose sleep with meeee”

Mason in the series? Slightly those vibes but what a sweetheart, taking care of Rose, being worried for her. Bless him, can we keep him please.

Okay watching and typing now. Kieron Moore, the acting your face does, my oh my. He looks miserable in that church, exhausted, bone tired, grasping at straws as not only the rug, but his entire belief system has been yanked from underneath him. And somehow Tatiana says the one right thing for him in this case. He wants to keep believing, even though Rose’s existence has basically disproven everything he stands for, built his life on. That’s really fucking difficult. I wouldn’t sleep well either Dimka.

That being said, hooking up with Miss Vogel? Stupid. Just really fucking stupid. Also though, the symbolism? Committing himself to the very embodiment of the current system? Yeah, almost subtle storytelling ;). He’s trying to make himself want this, to forget about Rose-erm I mean freedom, the possibility of a better life.

Speaking of acting, Sisi Stringer, the things you do with YOUR face. The HEARTBREAK. UGH. I feel Rose’s anger,desperation, pain. It was so well done. And then the fight. Listen, I am all for the angst in my ships. Bring it on, make them suffer before it gets better. But the fight? The FIGHT?! I mean obviously there were the really uncomfortable hunger games vibes, with the clowns, really emphasizing that this is a glorified gladiator match. Real people being made to suffer for the entertainment of the higher class.

So already wildly uncomfortable with the setting, but then they start fighting and yeah, I’m cheering on Rose. Tell him how you feel darling, make him listen! Only… only then, Dimitri’s not fighting back. He doesn’t want to hurt her, it’s the last thing he ever wanted. And in the one moment he does react, he stands there, frozen, horrified, because- because he’s just like him after all, he’s no better than his father, using the system they are a part of as an excuse to hurt those around him. He opens himself up to the kick, he saw her coming from miles away, but couldn’t convince himself to defend or block it. Couldn’t convince himself that he didn’t deserve everything Rose was giving him.

And Rose, Rose is just begging for a reaction. Anything, to show that the man she fell in love with is there, strong, determined, capable Dimitri. Not this shell of a man who hides behind cowardly words like duty and expectation and refuses to even talk to her. If he was going to give up what they had together for his life as a Guardian, he better show he's convinced, ges committed. If he's choosing this other life, this existence of oppression over her, he better actually want it, and prove that he does. Because Rose is used to people not choosing her, not even her mother chose her after all, but to not be chosen, in favour of something as harmful and reductive as the life of a dhampirs only committed to this apparent duty that is turning out to be nothing more than a historic marketing trick to normalise systemic oppression? That's insult to injury.

And the whole set-up was uncomfortable at the start, but when Rose kept going, kept hitting Dimitri, begging for any kind of reaction, and him just staying down and taking it? That really hit home for me, because it was just terrible, agonizing, hurt. Here we see what happens when oppressive systems are at their full effect, playing out disadvantaged parties against each other. It shows us how, if we’re not careful, rather than destroy the system that is causing us pain, we may end up destroying one another instead.

In sisi (2021) did you find marie to be a lonely child or an ungrateful one? I felt like marie deserved better even though she was a bit rude at times

I agree that she was rude but I think that was just the only way she could deal with her grief. Like we don't know how her mother exactly cared for her previously but Marie did seem fond of her and was geniuenly upset that her only family is dead. From her perspective auddenly that unknown aristocratic woman came along, told her her mum is dead and she will be taken care of, only to land in a school where she doesn't fit in among the other girls and basically being left to fight on her own socially. The only way she got attention is by making trouble, so she did. I mean Sisi was right that court was also not for Marie but I think for Marie it would have been better if she hadn't been put into a school, no matter how good the attention, but with someone who can dedicate their time to her. Later finding out that your mother is dead because the person who is supposed to take care of you sentenced her to death must have been hard and I get why she is acting out. I would to.

I wonder what they will do with her character in season 03. There has been no new casting announcement and Romy Schroeder hasn't been back to set either. Maybe we will get a line or two what became of her since we will definitely have a time jump with Rudolf already being a child, but we don't know that yet.
