Sonia to other people, about their problems: It is perfectly all right to ask for help. We must lean upon one another when needed, that is what being friends and a community is all about!
Sonia to other people, about her own problems: No, I must solve this myself or I will otherwise appear in distress, incompetent, or both! My problems and misfortunes are mine and it is inappropriate for me, someone born into such wealth and privilege, to ask anyone for help or admit I am struggling.

@politesper asked: FAVOR :  for one muse to owe the other a favor. (for my dr verse ^^)
A Comprehensive List of Scenarios
"This is the right floor, now the room...which one is the right room..." Sonia murmured to herself, giving herself the encouragement needed to approach a student she barely knew. Which made, all in all, this arrangement even more peculiar: when she'd asked her teacher who had gathered her various class handouts and assignments in her absence, she'd indicated it was an Itsuki Koizumi, the Ultimate Actor, who had seen that Sonia not go without any important information while she was away.
How peculiar. Intriguing, Sonia thought, but peculiar all the same: usually her classmates couldn't be bothered. They didn't see much merit in traditional class assignments, nor did the school itself: but she was determined to experience a normal school life to the fullest. That included, in no particular order: causing six figure yen repairs to the dorm room kitchen, attempting to wash her own clothes with an entire bottle of detergent (they seemed like they were single-use, that giant bottle!) and flood the laundry room with bubbles, and getting her own dorm room curtains caught in the vacuum cleaner the first, and last, time she attempted to use the device herself. And complete all homeroom assignments, which had no bearing on her final grade. It was, of course, what a normal high school student would do.
Tumblr media
And this Koizumi had been true to his word, delivering the papers with an attached note to see him for a favor in return. An ominous request, though he had awakened her curiosity and that, plus gratitude, was enough reason to seek out his dormitory room. Maybe he wanted to know about her homeland, or wanted an item from there: she had just returned home from some ceremonies, appearances, and parties she could not miss, even with attending school thousands of kilometers away. The private jet had brought her home with ease, and now that she'd gotten a proper shower, rest, and caught up with most of her immediate schoolwork, Sonia had wandered to his dorm room at her next available moment.
A glance down at the note and verifying the number written there with the number on the door before she raised her hand to the door to knock. "Pardon me, Koizumi-san?" She asked through the closed door. "This is Koizumi Itsuki-san's room, yes? This is Sonia Nevermind, and I am here to inquire regarding the favor you ask of me. You did not specify in your letter as to your request."

Coffee?
Tumblr media
No thank you, she prefers tea. Or wine. Or whiskey. Or even a fruit-flavored soda.
As long as it isn't that grainy abomination known as 'Swiss Miss.' She has it on good authority that Switzerland has proper drinking chocolate, not whatever that is.

@insaticble asked: SPRAIN ⠀ׅ⎖ akane towards sonia ⠀ׅ⎖
A Comprehensive List of Scenarios
"Owari-san, really now! You need not do this!" Sonia protested from Akane's arms. For the first minute or so, she'd acquiesced to being scooped up. But now it was a tad embarrassing: her classmate had carried her from the running track, throughout the Hope's Peak campus, across the main courtyard, and to the main building. After school hours, no less: at least there would be fewer people to inquire about her condition (mainly she suspected Kazuichi would have made himself scarce by that hour).
But that didn't change the fact that Sonia felt foolish. She was supposed to be an asset to Class 77-B's track and field team for the school's annual Sports Day: for as much as she was hopeless at singing, at playing musical instruments, at art, at cooking and cleaning, athletics was something she could do and could contribute to when called upon. It wasn't as if there was a ballroom dancing competition, or a contest for the best etiquette and manners, or quick language translation exercises for the school's various cultural and sports competition days, so Sonia felt compelled to contribute where she was able. Normal students could do so much, she thought, from concerts to maid and butler cafes to portrait sketches, all in pursuit of raising money for their Class Trip in their third year. Surely, she should be able to take hold of a baton and sprint as fast as she could to hand it off to her waiting classmate.
And yet, and yet, she couldn't even manage that. Thirty minutes into their practice session, Sonia had tripped over an untied shoelace and had faceplanted right into the curve of the track, stumbling over her ankle and scraping up her shins and forearms in the process.
Tumblr media
"I am sure I would have been just fine if I sat for a few minutes off to the side," She insisted, unable to do much but allow Akane to continue climbing up the stairs to the Main Course building's second floor, undoubtedly to the Nurse's office. "Besides, I doubt Mikan-san is even still here. And if so, I would hate to trouble her for this, it surely is not that serious!"
Her words, unfortunately, did not match up with her physical state. Her ankle was swelling from pink to an angry shade of red, and she'd scraped off several layers of skin on her arms and legs, blood trickling from the former.
Oh shit, she was going to bleed on Akane now. If she couldn't inconvenience her any more, she'd found a way to do so.
"Please, Owari-san, I should be able to treat this myself: I have been taught emergency first aid in my military training, and I would hate to be an inconvenience to anyone," She begged with flushed cheeks, though still keeping a firm hold on Akane's shoulders. "I just want to help our class obtain a well-deserved victory!"
Inspired by this art!

She had to laugh at that: for as unpredictable as the day had become, Zack was still concerned with something as inconsequential as swear words. For someone who could, and did, do that in several dozen languages, Sonia was far more amused than offended. "Oh no, it's quite all right," She replied in-between giggles. "Rather refreshing, actually! To meet someone who isn't afraid to swear in front of me, and be honest with me. I say 'fuck this shit' at least once a week, myself." Usually over rules and policies she didn't agree with but didn't hold enough power yet to change.
Her questions hadn't been easy ones to answer, and she wasn't surprised that he couldn't. It was science that the world, her world, hadn't invented yet so asking someone from an entirely different planet to explain it in ways he understood, and as such she would too, was a tall order. But she wasn't one to shy away from an intriguing mystery: it was just that her usual brand of mysteries involved murder, or cults, or both. Far too gruesome for the dinner table, as her 'unsavory' hobbies usually were.
"I cannot imagine how disorienting being sent to another world must be," Sonia mused aloud. It was a knee-jerk reaction, to try and solve every problem that presented itself to her. It was to be the purpose of her life after all, to lead and problem solve for millions of people. But Zack wasn't her subject, he was her friend: albeit a very new one but a friend all the same. That had a different, more personal, sense of urgency to assist where and if she could. "But I do not think you are a mess. Lost, perhaps: but not a mess. But I am intrigued about how you were supposed to become a hero that has turned into a felon: that sounds like quite the tale, but if the story is personal I will not press you for more."
Tumblr media
She was smart to have taken the burger and fries she did: Zack clearly had no difficulty putting away the rest of it. Just as well, she thought as she munched on her last fry, smiling: he seemed far more in need of a large meal than she did. "Would you be interested in dessert? Nothing fancy," She asked, hopefully putting his worries at ease. If he had any at this point: from the shower to the clothes to the meal, it was truly not an inconvenience for her to help him for a little while. Sonia got to her feet, giving him a conspirator's smile before sauntering over to the freezer. "Do you like ice cream? If not, I think there is some cake in the refrigerator from yesterday. And I can be trusted to serve these, at least."
She'd have the ice cream, in any case, and Sonia began to take out various pints from the freezer and set them on the counter: homemade, of course, in various flavors loved by both Japanese and Novosonian people: chocolate, stracciatella, nocciola, pistachio, green tea, black sesame, strawberry, peach. Half the freezer seemed to be stocked with frozen sweets alone, just how Sonia liked it. She opened the stracciatella, pistachio, and nocciola for herself, wanting a taste of home: it would help her think, or so she believed, about how she could assist him further.
"So you are on the run but must return to the people you care about, that is very brave and warmhearted of you," She said as she scooped out the first scoop into a bowl. "The thing is, I am not sure what sort of technology you would need in order to get home. Here, it would be difficult to acquire scientific help, but at home...well. I have a bit more authority there to commandeer some of the national science departments. Unless your journey is more akin to a fantasy novel and you must go on a quest! To assemble various precious items that, when combined, it opens a portal between worlds. Was your experience similar to that? It would be so very exciting if it was!"
"Gaia." He nodded. "Though the way you describe it sounds like a place that it could have been. You know, before humans decided to fuck it over. Oops." He brought a hand up to his lips. "Sorry." LANGUAGE, Zack!
"I wish I could explain to you what happened. How I ended up here. Truth is, I'm not smart enough to even try it. And to be honest, I don't even think I have the energy to make the attempt. Right now, I feel like I'm in a race against time. Or like... I'm in an eternal struggle for answers that I'll never find." And it wasn't the sort that, say, a scholar might seek on their own. Answers to those questions that would enrich the mind or something.
The answers he sought were of a life and death situation. Or to regain the life that had been stolen from him.
"I'll just say that I had some help to get here. What I'm supposed to do---" He shrugged a shoulder. ".... so as you can see, I'm a mess. Listen, my hopes and dreams saw me bound for hero-hood by this point. Instead, I'm all but an official felon, and if I go back home, I'm dead. At the same time, I have to go back home eventually because there's people I care about there and I'm not about to let them fend for themselves."
He sighed heavily, angrily wielding a french fry which he happily indulged in. ".... so, you see? Your hamburgers and fries have given me the strength to continue my adventure. Partially back to my human state with a shower too!" If he didn't find humor in the situation, he truly would be dead. It was about the only thing he had to prevent him from drowning in despair.

@lightcreators asked: ❛  do you ever wonder what it would be like if things were different between us?  ❜ (from kokichi ouma, friendship-wise of course, since ouma have an reason to remove his mask for one second)
Pining/Yearning Sentence Starters
"Hm?" Sonia asked. She'd been in the process of reaching for a salmon-filled onigiri when Kokichi had interjected with his question. And at their small table in the cafeteria, there weren't many others it could be directed towards.
The Main Course classes often kept to themselves, as it were, but Class 79's Kokichi Ouma was another category in and of himself. As far as Sonia knew, the common terms that were used when referring to him were 'gremlin' or 'menace,' for all the times her cohorts were caught at the receiving end of his pranks, jokes, and schemes. Even Hiyoko, who was also commonly referred to as a gremlin herself by her peers, clashed with Kokichi's methods of befriending others. More trouble than he was worth, that was how most of her fellow students seemed to view him.
An opinion that Sonia herself did not share. Admittedly and embarrassingly, she could admit that the initial reason she reached out to him was due entirely to his talent: as Ultimate Supreme Leader, she'd never actually met the leader of a cult before. For all of her interest in them, her first-person exposure was nil. Still, she'd tried to be polite when inquiring after his talent and the duties associated with it: how did he attract members? Did they have secret rituals? What about death pacts or prophecies for the future?
Instead, her friend seemed more keen on practical jokes than giving her firm answers to her questions. Just as well, a bit of mystery kept things intriguing. But to that end, Sonia was one of the few from her class who was willing to have lunch with him, or at least be present as a captive audience for any amount of time. And she fully expected him to tease her about some sort of Japanese culture she'd managed to mess up, something she took in stride until she couldn't anymore, when her eyes narrowed and tone switched and the line she'd drawn had been crossed between good humor and ill-intended jabs.
Tumblr media
This, however, was surprisingly philosophical for him. "If things were different between us?" She repeated. "Like talents? If we had different talents? Ooh, like if I was the Ultimate Supreme Leader! Though I wonder if my followers would simply be members of a coven at that point. Or otherwise devoted to the supernatural!"
She chuckled at the thought: it would be a far more exciting life than what her reality amounted to: endless meetings, ribbon cuttings, tea parties, memorials, and balls. Even the annual Masquerade each October only had subtle hints of the macabre, eagerly borrowed from her own personal collection of occult artifacts.
"What do you wonder then, if things were different between us?" She asked, setting her onigiri down on its plate. "Maybe I am a bit off in what you had in mind."

When you're reminded that your muse, for as well as she understands and gets along with other people, cannot, for the life of her, understand that someone is romantically interested in her unless she is told directly and without mincing words.
Unless of course, that person is Kazuichi Soda because in that case, Sonia has received the message loud and clear that he's enamored with her (enamored is putting it politely).

For the love of God, why!? Yaguchi wouldn't budge from her bedside, something Sonia found rather confusing: she'd just been forced to spend the night in her cabin, one that was likely colder and with fewer comforts than her own hotel room at the Hotel Mirai. And yet here she was, not only assuring Sonia that she had nothing to do with the demise of the people closest to her in her life but insisting that she believed in her. She believed in all of them, far more than she did the literal representation and beacon of hope, Makoto Naegi.
But we are MURDERERS! Has that escaped your attention, that we are responsible for the suffering of so many! I am responsible for the deaths of so many! It was what Sonia wanted to scream and yet found herself unable to. Buried beneath the layers of blankets, tugged over her head to ensconce her in the darkness that permeated through her day in and day out. She wanted to listen, and yet talking to anyone who hadn't endured the same torture of Junko Enoshima's despair seemed like a meaningless endeavor. From what the papers said, the television said, the citizens of the world had made up their minds of what the former Remnants of Despair deserved for a future. And where that specific foundation was concerned, they were preoccupied with meeting their own goals. Some of them aligned with Naegi's, though Sonia strongly suspected that they didn't all perfectly line up with his vision of the future.
Nevertheless, it seemed barring throwing the woman out, Yaguchi was not going to leave. She was stubborn, a quality Sonia did remember liking in people before The Tragedy, if only for the fact it was one others loathed in her. The men on the Royal Council especially: a princess that they could mold into their conservatively-minded future. If the King and Queen of Novoselic were not to have a boy, a proper prince the country felt it deserved, then a princess held up by their marionette strings was the next best option. Unfortunately for them, those strings were cut when she'd murdered the members of the council foolish enough not to flee upon the deaths of her parents. In her mind, at the time, they were complicit. They were all complicit in her discontent, in her despair, to become an unattainable perfection.
"Thank you," She muttered as she pulled the blankets down from around her face. Just her face, for now. "But I am not fond of speaking about my feelings to others. You have seen me in the company of Togami, I cannot imagine it will fare much better with anyone else." Anyone else, of course, who wasn't a former Remnant of Despair. It was morbid to think about, even for her, but there was a sort of kinship that came with being brainwashed by Junko Enoshima to carry out The Tragedy. Whenever she wondered if anyone else on Earth felt as horrible as she did, she didn't have to look too far: all of her former classmates, certainly, felt the shame and regret she did. The constant companions at her side, from the moment she woke up to the moment she fell asleep. How could Yaguchi understand? She fought for the right side. Even though she'd likely killed others, she'd done so for the right reasons. The world likely would celebrate her, if they did not do so already. She wouldn't be sentenced to a life in a cage, no matter how elegant that cage happened to be.
At least she seemed more concerned with breakfast now than Sonia's feelings. As much as Sonia didn't care for either in that moment, she preferred Yaguchi occupy herself with food than trying to unravel the knot of self-loathing Sonia had twisted herself into. Begrudgingly, Sonia sat up, partly out of politeness and partly out of morbid curiosity: for as little as she was allowed to keep in her cabin kitchen for her own safety, as well as the safety of others, she was mildly intrigued about what sort of breakfast Yaguchi could concoct.
The sound of utensils against a pan was proof enough she'd found something, and Sonia leaned against the headboard of her bed, careful not to agitate the wound on her foot as she waited. But to her pleasant surprise, the woman had emerged from her small kitchenette with something that didn't appear too terribly unappetizing: a mug of tea (without whiskey, she had to guess), some fruit, and a pancake that resembled a lumpy, slightly misshapen cat head, with two uneven points for ears and a few smudges at the cheeks for whiskers, butter sliding over where its nose would be.
Sonia looked up at her with a wary look, wondering if this was her attempt of something 'kawaii:' an aesthetic, if not a lifestyle, that was seemingly lost in The Tragedy. There was nothing adorable about the world burning to the ground, after all. Still, she'd made quite the effort to do something with Sonia's pitiful excuse of a kitchen. The least she could do is try to eat.
Tumblr media
"Thank you," She said, quieter but far less cynical than her previous gratitude. Sonia even shifted a bit to the side in her bed, to give Yaguchi some space to eat as well that didn't involve balancing perilously on the very edge of the mattress. Unless she wanted to eat at the small low table in front of Sonia's sofa: she couldn't blame her if she did. It was far more comfortable, she suspected, than the edge of her bed. She took the tray carefully, balancing it over her lap: if she stayed still as she ate, she wouldn't make a mess. "I will try. You made such an effort at it, I think I will feel worse if I don't attempt to eat something."
She started with the misshapen cat pancake first, cutting away one of the points to slather in butter before taking a bite. Strangely, a part of her wished they had a sweet syrup, maple perhaps, to go with it. The Novoselic Ambassador to Canada had brought back bottles of the stuff, alongside maple butter and other maple-based products, when she was young, and she and her cousins had enjoyed it greatly on crepes, no matter how much it irritated the head chef who was determined to only use nutella on them.
"It is good," She nodded her approval after swallowing. It would have to be done bite by bite: even if her taste buds agreed, her stomach would take some time to acclimate itself to a steady diet. She reached for the tea: it would help, she thought, to keep the nausea at bay. "And you are right. I do not understand why you care about me. Why anyone would care about me, after everything I have done." She didn't deserve it either, but that seemed like a moot point to make.
"But how, exactly," She began as she set down the mug, reaching for the fork and stabbing a strawberry slice and a few blueberries onto the tongs, the red-purple juices dripping into the bottom of the bowl. The blood imagery wasn't lost on Sonia, maybe it wouldn't be lost on Yaguchi either. "are you asking me to accept your caring for me? That's the problem: there's never a clear understanding as to what you, or anyone else for that matter, wants from me. Needs from me." The goalposts were always moved a little bit further, when all she could celebrate at times was getting out of bed in the morning without the worst hangover in the world.
"No." What had happened to Seiko, and Sakakura, and most of Future Foundation's other division heads, had happened after the capture of the Remnants. The specifics had been kept from her, and surely it all had something to do with the Tragedy. Still, it seemed unlikely that Sonia and her classmates, most of whom had been in a coma at the time, had anything to do with it. "You didn't have anything to do with what happened to them, Miss Nevermind. It was a contingency of Junko Enoshima's, if I had to guess, nothing to do with you."
She'd called her 'Sonia,' earlier, and it dawned upon Shinobu that, possibly, that might have been the first time she'd ever spoken Sonia's name to her face. Surely, then, it had been out of instinct, rather than habit. Yet, they'd retreated to their more typical form of address, now. Perhaps it was too familiar for Sonia's liking to call her by her first name, as though they were closer than they were. Even if Shinobu herself desired that kind of closeness, it was unfair to force it upon Sonia, or expect her to reciprocate.
"It might sound unusual, but while I have very little faith in Naegi, as a general rule, I have quite a bit of faith in you and your classmates. If the goal is reintegration, I'm unconcerned with the possibility that it won't be attained. That said," she murmured, looking to Sonia. She was wrapped in her blankets - practically cocooned - in such a way that only her face poked out. Were the situation not so serious, they would have thought it rather cute. "I'm no psychologist, and I can't promise that I have any enlightening thoughts or particular insight, but if you do wish to speak about your feelings, I'll listen. They don't need to be hopeful, nor positive. I'll listen, regardless, without judgment."
As Sonia explained that she'd require her privacy, Shinobu wondered if she was expecting them to impose upon her for longer than this morning. Well, they wouldn't mind it. As she explained her kitchen's status, the archer moved into it to take stock of things, picking up her backpack from its place near the door. Most of what she'd brought the night prior were snacks, things that required no preparation at all, but surely there were some rations or other food items that she could use, too.
Setting out a few things and trying to recall the days where she'd been expected to cook for herself and her father almost daily, Shinobu gave a small nod, even if Sonia couldn't easily see her from her position in bed. "It's probably true that the hotel meals would be more to my liking," she agreed, "but then I'd be leaving you here, alone, and I've already expressed that I'd prefer not to do that." A few below-average or overly-simplistic meals were a small price to pay, after all, and besides, Sonia needed to eat.
There was no fish, nor miso paste, and cooking rice would take too long, so the kind of traditional Japanese breakfast that Shinobu was most accustomed to was out of the question. Thankfully, while they were no expert chef, there were at least a few simple Western-style breakfast meals that they could cook, even in unenviable circumstances. Besides, if Sonia didn't enjoy chocolate anymore, as she'd said, and her appetite was lacking, perhaps it was for the best that the meals be relatively simple - not something to be greatly enjoyed, if that was too difficult for her to allow herself, but simply something to sustain her.
Some short while later, Shinobu stepped out from the kitchen and set down upon Sonia's nightstand a cup of tea, a small bowl of fruit, and a plate with a single, slightly misshapen, pancake, lightly buttered. "I know you said that you don't have much appetite," Shinobu said, as she sat down at the edge of the bed with her own plate, and a canned coffee from her backpack, "and I have no way to force you to eat, but I do think you should try to eat a little, at least. It's better for your recovery, if you do."
From the bed's edge, they looked to Sonia for a few moments even as they popped the lid of their coffee and took a sip. Even like this, she thought, she seemed a beautiful, special person to be cherished and supported. "Miss Nevermind," she murmured, "I need you to understand that I care about you. A great deal, in fact." Were they staring? They hoped not, but they were looking at her. "I know that you might not understand why - that you might think it's a mistake for me to care about you, or that you don't deserve to be cared about at all." She had suffered so much, more than any person could ever deserve to. Shinobu wished she could reach inside her, push aside the cobwebs and thorns, and pull out all her pain. They'd take it inside themselves, if they could, all of it. "It might be difficult to accept, but I hope you can accept it."

@lightcreators asked: ❛ do you ever feel like there's something missing … like a piece of your heart is somewhere else? ❜ (from nagito komaeda, it had been centuries ! )
Pining/Yearning Sentence Starters
Sonia's fingers tightened around the small eyedropper in her hands. She'd had no choice after the execution: the four Devas had scampered to safety in her arms during the trial and now, with Gundham's absence, she was now their guardian. Truthfully, she didn't know too much about taking care of animals on her own: only what she'd observed in Gundham, when she wasn't otherwise looking at him. A challenge, as up until a few hours prior, her attention was often consumed by him: it only now sunk in that, at the end of things, he had been blackened as a murderer.
She'd taken refuge in the lobby of the Hotel Mirai. As ridiculous as the prospect was, an island teeming with murder in the middle of the ocean, Sonia didn't want to be alone. If she was left to her own devices, she'd keep crying, and crying would only dishonor his memory. Not to mention, a part of her felt it unhelpful for the four pairs of beady eyes to witness. They needed a new guardian and protector and had chosen her, or so Sonia chose to believe. Instead, she'd wiped her eyes and, in silent apology, entered Gundham's now-empty cabin to seek out what she could use to care for the hamsters.
That was how she'd ended up in the lobby: having gathered her findings, she'd used the carefully-crafted list she'd uncovered to rummage through the kitchens for what she needed: small slices of sweet peppers and apples, hamster food pellets, bottles of filtered water, and their favorite sunflower seeds. But to Sonia's dismay, all four of them ignored their favorite treat in favor of curling up in Gundham's forgotten scarf, their small, gloomy chirps a clear denial of the full dropper of water Sonia held out to them. Even if they refused to eat, they needed to drink, and she'd been unsuccessful at the task for the past two hours.

It was Nagito's footsteps that provided a break from her unsuccessful attempts at care, and she wasn't entirely certain that she was pleased or annoyed by it. "Of course a piece of my heart is somewhere else," She replied, unable to keep the bitterness out of her tone and tears out of the corners of her eyes. It died with him. Even if I am to keep going on, a part of my heart died with him. "I would imagine a piece of our hearts is lost every time someone is murdered and sentenced in this brutal 'game,' Komaeda-san. Do you not feel the same?"

Your muse: accidentally drops a 'fuck' into a sentence, apologizes for swearing in front of Sonia
Sonia: Oh no, it's all right! Jesus, shit, you son of a bitch! My life is basically a never-ending stream of 'fuck this shit' consciousness in my head!
She can swear in over thirty languages, one small fuck will not upset her. She'll just drop some colorful language to join you.
