As an introvert, you are familiar with the silence. Drowning yourself deep in your thoughts has been a habit you’ve become addicted to. Your life begins to change, however, ever since the day you turned twenty. Suddenly, there’s this song that’s stuck in your head, and no matter how much you yearn to hear your thoughts or be comforted by the silence, it keeps on playing. You only get to find the answer to your problem when a young, cute barista hands you a cup of coffee one day, with that song’s lyrics written on the side. And you realize that you’re not the only one who’s been hearing voices in your head.
。° if i lose my mind by @slightlymore (m) || 14.5k
dream sorter haechan x dreamer fem reader
fantasy/tim burton-esque, romance, smut, angst, fluff
you’ve never cared much for your dreams. they were always confusing nonsense you forgot in the morning. this until you started to have the same dream again and again and again: a lobby, pleasant elevator music in the background, many golden doors, a handsome young man welcoming you and asking where you wanted to go that night. his name was haechan and apparently you weren’t supposed to know that, let alone fall in love with him.
。° better than gold by @cherryeoniis || 16.4k
nobleman!haechan x fem!reader
historical, fluff, angst, childhood friends to lovers, forbidden love
His family comes from old money, and you’re nouveau-riche. Unfortunately for them, Haechan’s never been one to listen very well, especially when his parents tell him to stop fraternizing with you. "I'm sorry..." LuWin (WayV)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: When Lucas breaks up with his ex, an old friend from the past returns...
Tags: Angst I guess, Former Bffs, sad, insecurities, Comfort, fluff at the end, aftercare
A/N: I wrote this on my Wattpad, but I didn't release it, so here it is. Also, this was made to cope with Lucas' departure - I don't want any antis of Lucas or WayV reading this or commenting. Here's my Wattpad Account if ur interested:
Tumblr media
It hit Lucas like a storm when he got a call from his girlfriend, Fei. She was breaking up, and there was nothing he could do.
But what had he done? Was he too controlling? Was he too loud? What did he do warrant a break up?
"Listen, its not your fault, its me. I just fell out of love. But you aren't to blame. Take care of yourself, Lucas."
It was crushing him.
He went to a nearby cafe, when he was nearly mowed down by a motorbike. "Careful!" He called. The biker got took off his helmet, and Lucas's world stopped.
Sicheng?
"Long time no see, old pal," The biker said with a smile on his face.
Lucas was trying to keep his composure, but all of the memories kept flashing by. His old friend was standing there and he didn't know what to do.
"Should we talk somewhere more private?" Jonas asked. The taller nodded, wanting to get out of this place.
After a quick drive, they arrived at Sicheng' place. They went into the apartment, and hanged their coats up.
"How's things been these past 3 years?" Sicheng asked. Lucas hid his face in his shirt, so the former knew something was wrong.
"I shouldn't of left you at the prom back in 2020(this was before the pandemic). I had met someone...remember Fei?"
"Yeah, was she one of the cool kids?"
"Yeah, she was."
"Wait, what happened?"
"...." Lucas didn't know what to say, but his red and tear flooded face told all. "Is she dead?"
Lucas shook his head in shock, "She broke up with me!" then cried in his friend's arms.
"Why?" Sicheng asked, stroking the giant's head.
"She said its her fault, but I think its me..."
The smaller began to realise something... "Xuxi, when you left me that night of the prom, did you leave because of me?"
"No...it was because I didn't want you to know my true feelings. I...love you."
Winwin's POV
I looked at Lucas with awe. He loves me? I gave him a big hug, and stroked his back. "I love you too, Xuxi." I smiled.
Feeling my boyfriend calm down, I pecked his forehead. And the reaction was worth it. His cute face was making me feeling something I never felt with another person before...
"If its okay, I want my first to be with you." I winked. Lucas got his composure, and he looked a lot different.
"Of course, dearheart. Anything for you."
I was about to doze of when Lucas began kissing my bare back. So cute... I locked his lovely lips with mine, gently dominating his lips.
"You were amazing, Xuxi," I chuckled. Kissing the marks on my Xuxi's chest was worth these 3 years without him.
"Dearheart! Its getting late!" I hear my love say.
"Coming!" I call out.
Well, sorry Diary! Gotta go!
Dong Sicheng
End Note: Sorry, I rushed it🤦🏻 More oneshots coming soon!

bend to my will | d.sc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
featuring: guard!winwin x royal!reader
word count: 991
summary — when sicheng tries to stop you from executing an assassin that made an attempt on your life, something in you snaps, and you say some words harsher than you mean to.
author's note: uhh this is related to moonlight dancing but i haven't really come up with a plot for it. just think of it as a series of oneshots in the same universe. it would help to read them in order, though.

“Stand back.”
The assassin glared back at you, the heat in her eyes boring into your skull. Her muscles tensed, as if she was trying to move, but your magic kept her frozen to her spot. She struggled against your will, gritting her teeth, but your power was too strong for her to overcome.
She made no move to step away, and you met her stare with a disinterested expression. With a lazy roll of your eyes, you forced her to stand with her legs together, hands falling limp by her side. The dagger in her fist dangled precariously, and she slowly removed one finger at a time, and her eyes widened as she lost grip of the hilt.
The dagger should have dug into the smooth leather of her boot, sharp enough to cut through the material but not to penetrate all the way to her skin. It would have been a final warning, and she wouldn’t be given extra reason to hate you because you had mutilated her.
Instead, the dagger’s course was slightly skewed, and it landed at her feet, the point of the blade clattering against the ground, missing her boot by a hair’s breadth. No one else would notice; they would think it was her luck that it had not injured her, but you knew better.
Without shifting your gaze or turning your body, you heard a choked sound escape the lips of your most trusted guard, Sicheng.
You knew he was aware that the dagger should have fallen onto her boot, and both of you knew that he had shifted the course of it just enough for only the two of you to know. You couldn’t believe that he didn’t trust you, that he had dared go against your will.
You forced his throat muscles to seize, blocking his airways for long enough that he would get the message. He handled it remarkably well, allowing only the faintest sound to be heard, and not moving the rest of his body.
He stood still, metres away from you, just outside of your peripheral vision. The cuff of your sleeve fluttered, just barely, in his direction. A plea for you to show mercy.
The disinterest in your gaze faded, replaced by irritation. How could you possibly be expected to deal with threats, when the threat was struggling against your command, and your guard was begging you to be merciful?
Seeing the muted fury in your eyes, the assassin’s determination dimmed, the fiery hatred fizzling to a wavering flame, fear clouding her vision. But her jaw remained tightly set, unwilling to give up.
Your eyes rolled up, revealing the white of your eyeballs in a rare display of your annoyance. With a wave of your hand, you dismissed the assassin from your sight. Your guards rushed up to bind her wrists together, tugging her along as the metal chains weighed her down.
She glared at you once more as she was dragged away.
Sicheng was by your side in two large steps. He lowered his head to your ear, asking, “What will you do with her?”
“She will be tried. And if she is found guilty, her crime is punishable by death.”
“But she didn’t even hurt you–” Before he could raise his voice, you stared him down.
“Watch your tone, Sicheng. I am your ruler, and my word is law.” Your tone was warning, dangerously laced with threats, and Sicheng wasn’t an idiot. He held your gaze for one second before wrenching his eyes from your magnetic ones, stepping back and bowing with his right hand over his heart.
“I apologise, Your Highness. I stepped out of line.”
Good that he knows it. You waved your hand once more, “Dismissed.” The rest of the guards took their leave, leaving you and Sicheng alone.
As soon as they had left, Sicheng moved towards you subconsciously, as if he was physically drawn to your body. He grasped a fistful of the flowy garb draped over your back, pulling you closer to him.
“Why would you…” He couldn’t even speak the words aloud.
“How could you be my highest-ranking guard, when you can’t even say the word ‘kill’ aloud?” You asked in distaste.
“You’re different,” he said, unflinchingly. He pulled away to look down at your face, stony with resignation. “You’re never like this when we’re alone, you said you hated the bloodshed, you–”
“Stop pretending to know me.” You shook him off, righting your crumpled clothes. “You will never understand what it’s like to be in my position, to have to make a choice for the better of your kingdom even if it goes against whatever your heart is screaming at you to do. You will never, ever know what it is like to see your brother hold a blade to your lover’s heart because he believed that was what was right for his people.
“You will never know what it is like to watch the life drain from a friend’s eyes, someone so dear to you, who had only tried to get close to you to kill you. Never. So don’t try to tell me I’m ‘different’. You try living in my shoes, and you’ll understand.” Your voice was soft, but there was harshness and pain in your words, and you willed yourself not to show any emotions apart from the raw hurt he could probably hear in your voice.
Heart beating impossibly fast, you walked away, pausing only to snatch the dagger from the floor where it had been left, and tossing it in the air, catching it and flinging it backwards carelessly at Sicheng’s heart.
You didn’t need to turn around to know your aim had rung true, much less to know that he had stopped it just before it had a chance to graze his clothes, hovering in the air like a constant reminder of how unsuited the two of you were for each other.

“Could we maybe go to Disney?”
Little did Qian Kun know, was that this innocent question would be the reason why Kun, and 6 other idiots were now at Walt Disney World with you.
That day, Dong Si Cheng, Kun’s roommate, asked a simple question. That had a simple answer: No. But what happened instead, wasn’t as simple. If it were any other one of his idiotic friends he would’ve turned them down straight away, but the request had to come from the mouth of Dong Si Cheng instead. There was no way Kun could resist the temptation of seeing those eyes look dejected after he rejected that wish of Si Cheng’s.
“Sure, I’ll see what I can do.” Was what HE SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID. but he did.
As soon as Kun walked out of Si Cheng’s room, his smile quickly turned into a frown. How the hell was he going to accomplish this? They were pretty much broke college students, no freetime, and no clout. Actually the last part was a lie. They were pretty popular amongst most of the students of their school. Mingled with most people, went to parties, drank a lot, you get the gist. Yet, that wasn’t enough clout to magically grant them a Disney trip. That shit only happened in movies. Disney movies.
“Couldn’t help but overhear that sad conversation.” Kun turned his head to see a familiar face, one that happened to belong to his ‘bestie’ Ten. He was using the term ‘bestie’ lightly. They’d known each other for years, but still bickered and teased each other over everything. Ten’s real name was ‘Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul’, but of course no one could pronounce that so everyone just called him Ten instead. It made life simpler.
“Oh yeah? Like you could do anything better.”
Ten cocked his head to the side, “What? Can’t stop being a people pleaser for once and reject someone for a change?” “I’d love to see you try. Why don’t you go tell him ‘no’ instead, so we don’t have to shovel out our own money to pay for this damn trip?” Kun knew Ten loved a good challenge, and that Ten was as equally broke as he was, so maybe he could convince Ten to persuade Si Cheng.
Ten looked at him for a few seconds, rolled his eyes, and walked right into Si Cheng’s room. Kun glanced at his watch, wanting to see how long it would take.
“You don’t need to tell me Ten. I heard everything outside, I… understand.” Kun could hear Si Cheng’s faint voice from the door, and his heart ached a little. The sadness in his tone was very obvious. “I was being selfish… I’m sorry.”
“N-Nononoofcoursenot!” Ten blabbered out. Suddenly Ten opened the door again, spotted Kun and pulled Kun back into the room with him. “Tell him Kun! We were just planning the dates right, weren’t we Kun?”
Fuck this bastard. Kun could imagine it in his head. Right here, right now. His hands wrapped tightly around Ten’s neck. And when he was done, he would know exactly where to put the bo- Err… Just kidding. There would be a witness anyways. A witness that was currently giving him a puzzled look.
“Uhm… yeah yeah… yeah right we were just booking flights that’s all. And if it… sounded like we weren’t gonna go uh… we were just… joking, right?” Kun looked at Ten for support. If Ten was gonna throw Kun under the bus then he needed all the help he could get.
“Yeah yeah. We’ll go to your favorite park!” Ten winked at Si Cheng, still nervously looking at Kun. “I like all of them though…”
That’s it. Kun grabbed on Ten’s arm, as equally hard as Ten had done to him earlier, dragging him out of Si Cheng’s room once again. This time, Kun and Ten positioned themselves strategically in the kitchen where Kun’s beloved roommate wouldn’t be able to hear their conversation. However as they made their way into the kitchen to see a shorter boy standing at the sink peeling an orange. “Chenle, how the fuck do you keep getting into our dorm room?” Kun stared at Chenle as he was nonchalantly peeling his orange.
The younger boy grinned at the two. “Si Cheng gave me his spare key. He wanted to learn how to play basketball, so I’ve been teaching him.”
Chenle was a basketball prodigy and had gotten into their school on a scholarship because of it. He was only 2 grades below Kun, but somehow they shared most of their classes with each other. Chenle would always pester Kun whenever he could and did anything he could to make his life miserable. “Okay, so why are you here now? Si Cheng did not look like he was about to play basketball at all.” Chenle popped an orange slice in his mouth. “Silly! I’m here for you! Well, see I originally was going to bother you like I normally do, y’know” He ignored Kun’s glare and continued on, “But then… I was hungry so I got a snack.” He motioned to the orange in his hands and ate another slice, “Also whoever made that Pumpkin Pie, that was absolutely fire.”
“Fuck you that was my last slice” Ten crossed his arms, and joined Kun in scowling at the younger boy.
“Yeah well. Sorry. I guess. Not really. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Regardless, while eating the pie I witnessed your little disney dilemma and I have a proposal to make.” Kun eyed Chenle suspiciously as he continued on, “I’ll pay for your little trip. Flights, Tickets, Fastpasses, Food, everything!”
Kun completely forgot that Chenle’s family was loaded. He glanced at Ten then back at Chenle. “And what do you want in return? Is there a catch?”
Chenle looked at them with a more mischievous grin in comparison to the ones he had been giving them before. “No catch! You just have to take me and my best friend, y/n with you.”

on top of the world (dong sicheng/winwin)
Tumblr media
pairing: sicheng/winwin x reader
genre: angst, fluff, flangst. friends to lovers, highschool!au, dancer!sicheng, spring break trip
summary: The fall to the ground doesn’t seem so daunting when you’re living on top of the world.
word count: 3.2k
warnings: cussing
a/n: if enough people get mad at me i’ll write a part 2
part 1 | part 2 | part 3
this can be read as a standalone, but it is part 1 in the on top of the world series. crossposted on ao3 here!
Tumblr media
Chinatown, Washington, D.C., 7:01 p.m.
“Honest Abe? More like, honest babe,” Lucas hollers to Kun and no one in particular, drawing a few disgruntled looks from the pedestrians waiting for the walk signal to flash again. He winks at a man in a navy suit, who rolls his eyes and looks away. Yangyang reaches over for a high-five.
“Dude was 6′ 4″, of course he’s a babe,” Sicheng whistles, leaning behind Yangyang and craning his neck to steal glances at Kun’s phone.
To your right, Ningning flits around, snapping pictures of the street displays and assorted neon lights on the storefronts. You watch her alongside Giselle, who pops her bubblegum, periodically glancing at the traffic light at the bustling intersection. Standing shoulder to shoulder with you to your left, Kun rattles off a hodge-podge of facts about Abraham Lincoln and Ford’s Theatre, which you just passed by, from his phone screen to a faux-enthused Yangyang, who shakes Sicheng by the shoulders every time Kun reads a new fact. He occasionally gets pushed into Lucas’s side, rolling his eyes while doing little to hide the growing grin on his face.
“... and apparently they planned his assassination in the building the Wok n’ Roll restaurant we passed used to be,” Kun remarks.
“OH MY GOD SICHENG ISN’T THAT SO CRAZY?” Yangyang all but screams. “IT WAS IN THE WOK N’ ROLL!”
As you glance over fondly, your eyes linger on the orange hues and kaleidoscopic shadows the nearby “do not walk” signal spills over Sicheng’s face. After a moment, he looks away from Yangyang’s exaggerated bouncing. His gaze flits upwards, meeting your stolen glance with his own.
The world grinds to a halt beneath your feet when a strong gust of wind blows through your hair, propelling you into free fall into the depths of his eyes until Giselle tugs on your arm, pulling you back into the present.
She gestures toward the “walk” signal on the traffic light, and you fall in line with her quick footsteps as you stride across the crosswalk.
“We should go there later,” she suggests. “Try summoning Lincoln’s ghost or something.”
“The Wok n’ Roll?”
“Yeah. Do you think his ghost would have his top hat?”
“I thought ghosts were just spirits and didn’t take material possessions with them?”
“Yeah, but then every ghost would be naked, which would be hella inappropriate.”
Ningning overhears, skipping up to you and looping her arm through yours. “You have to prove the existence of ghosts and take them out to dinner before you get them naked, you pig.”
“I made yo momma sound like a ghost last night,” Lucas quips. “I skipped the ‘getting dinner’ part, though.”
“Goddamn,” Giselle exclaims as you burst into laughter, throwing jokes and jabs at each other for the rest of the trek to the ramen restaurant where you eat dinner.
Tumblr media
Hilton Garden Inn, Washington, D.C., 9:13 p.m.
After helping Giselle and Ningning unpack, you knock on the communicating door between your hotel room and the boys’ in order to bother Kun.
Sicheng answers, moving aside so you can step across. Their room is surprisingly clean, although you chalk it up to the limited amount of time they had to unpack earlier today. Lucas sits at the desk in the corner near the window, hunched over his laptop while Yangyang peeks over his shoulder. You glimpse a few pictures of the Washington Monument on his screen before he scrolls down to other marble structures.
“Are you looking up other places to visit?” you ask him.
He glances up, cracking his neck before responding. “Yeah. I can’t find anything special that we don’t know about, though.”
“It’s boutta be lit,” Yanyang chimes in.
“Ayeee,” Lucas responds. They start aggressively patting each other on the back and arms, and you take that as your cue to leave before they wrestle you into whatever weird ritual they’re performing.
Turning, you see Sicheng flop down onto the bed closest to the windows where Kun lays, sprawled out. “Hey,” Kun greets, lifting his head from his pillows.
“Hey,” you reply, remembering the reason why you came to the room in the first place. “Oh yeah! I found a stop sign a few blocks from here on a decently busy street. It’ll take ten minutes to go there and back, tops.”
He groans. “I would love to go, but I just got a stomachache. Tell you what. Sicheng,” he says, propping himself up at a snail’s pace and clasping Sicheng’s shoulder, “you can accompany her there, right?”
“To a stop sign?” Sicheng asks, looking up from his phone.
“A hand-picked, top tier, magnificent stop sign,” you proclaim. “Whenever me and Kun travel, we always get a random passerby to take our picture in front of a stop sign like it’s a tourist attraction. Are you down for potential social awkwardness?”
The corner of Sicheng’s lips tugs up into a grin. “You know it. I’m not ruining your tradition with Kun, am I?” he asks, glancing sideways at Kun for confirmation.
Kun flops back down on the bed. “Nah. If I went right now, I’d probably ruin the tradition by shitting my pants there or something.”
Sicheng chuckles. “Promise? We could print out those pictures and mail them back to your parents like a postcard.”
“I like the way you think,” you say with a scheming smile, nodding at Sicheng before turning back to Kun. “Anyways, drink some warm water to help with your stomachache, maybe? What do you think caused it?”
He shrugs. “Not sure. Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten that trashcan pizza slice in the subway.” Sicheng reaches over and flicks his forehead. “Ow! I’m kidding! Why would you torment a sick man like this? Go away and take your pictures already.”
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” you ask as Sicheng asks, “You sure?”
“Yeah, don’t worry. Worst comes to worst, I’ll take a Pepto-Bismol in fifteen minutes. Go and have fun.” He waves you off, grabbing a spare pillow and lightly smacking Sicheng with it.
“Fine, mom.” Sicheng stands, pocketing his phone. “You ready? I just need to put on my shoes.”
“Yeah.” As he walks over to the closet, you sneak a peek at your reflection through your phone screen. Fighting back a sudden bundle of nerves, you discreetly smooth your t-shirt down, running a hand through your hair. Kun wiggles his eyebrows when he notices, and you flip him off, silently warning him to stay quiet.
He doesn’t. “Have fun on your date with loverboy,” he whispers.
“Shut up.”
“After you leave, should I check out the pool?” he murmurs. “Lucas and Yangyang said they don’t feel like swimming tonight.”
“What, isn’t your stomach—”
“Oh my, would you look at the time? Off you go!” He shoos you away, almost standing up to push you away and laying back down before Sicheng can turn around. You’re almost impressed by how well he set you up.
Still, though. If Kun weren’t your best friend, you’d shove him into the hotel’s fountain.
Tumblr media
H Street Northwest, Washington D.C., 9:40 p.m.
Half an hour later, you give up on the facade of collecting anti-tourist pictures after the third stop sign, stopping by the Chinatown Express to grab a bowl of noodles with roast duck to go. You walk for a few blocks before finding a bench to sit and split it at, slurping them up in an appreciative silence.
“Oh my god,” Sicheng intones around a mouthful of noodles. When you look over, his cheeks are puffed, an empty spoon descending to rest inside the soup container.
“You look like one of those baby birds eating scraps,” you giggle.
“I’m certainly skilled with chicks,” he says, wiggling his eyebrows.
You roll your eyes, then scoot closer to pick up a piece of roast duck. Your knees touch, but neither of you move away. “Do you think there’s a more advanced form of life than humans, like aliens, and they view us how we view animals?” you ask, resuming the conversation you had about the meaning of life before you sat down. “Like we don’t think birds could become self-aware, no matter how intelligent they are, so then we can’t achieve the alien version of self-awareness no matter how philosophical we get.”
“Good question. Uh, alien self-awareness would probably relate to the meaning of life or something, right? Or the secrets of the universe and breaking the laws of physics. And because they’re so big brained, they could control things with their minds and be enlightened with telekinesis. So hypothetically, if I were a wise, sagely alien,” he says, gently picking up your hand and laying it flat against his palm, “I could make my hand pass through yours if I had enough brainpower.”
His hand is warm, and you hope furiously that your palms aren’t sweating. “Was this another excuse to hold my hand?”
“Well, did it work?”
You raise your eyebrows and fail at biting back your smile. “You already know, you just want to hear me say it.”
He grins. “Then say it!”
“Yes, Sicheng, it worked.”
“Awesome.” He moves his right hand to pick up his spoon, briefly tugging your hand with him until he realizes. “Fuck. Sorry, I have to let go of your hand while I eat. Unless you wanna see me struggle with my left hand.”
“As much as I’d love to watch you do that, I feel like that’d be an insult to the rest of the noodles.”
When you finally remember to stand up and throw away the long-forgotten remnants of your food, he holds your hand carefully but firmly as you walk past the White House, and you imagine his hold on your heart must feel the same.
Tumblr media
Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C., 11:16 p.m.
“Dance with me,” Sicheng pleads, pulling you under a streetlight. You nod, but your feet stay cemented on the brick-paved sidewalk.
“I don’t know how to.”
“That’s fine.” You place your hand in his outstretched one, and he lifts your other hand to rest on his shoulder. “No one’s around to judge, so just do whatever.”
“Wise words,” you deadpan, but you let his hand on your waist guide your swaying.
He’s right, though. After the initial awkwardness fades, you find that waltzing around isn’t so bad after all—especially when he twirls you around the pocket of light underneath the lamppost so gently it feels like you’re dancing on air.
And when he dips you as you throw your head back, laughing, you think you finally understand why his eyes light up every time he finishes a dance performance.
“Is this what you love about dancing?” you ask once you’ve come back up.
He nods, eyes closing briefly. “Partly. The grand choreographies are the showstoppers, but the simpler moments keep me sane.” His eyes flutter open. “I haven’t let anyone see me dance with such bad technique in a while. I’m usually not this bad, I promise.”
“I know,” you grin. “I saw you at the winter showcase. You were amazing.” Then you take a deep breath, and brace for the worst. “The lyrical piece you closed with was the one you used for your audition, right?”
“Yeah, I—yeah.”
Abruptly, he releases your hands and steps back. You allow yourself to feel a twinge of guilt for mentioning the elephant in the room before you steel yourself for the impending conversation.
“We should probably talk about that,” he says.
“We should. Do you want to walk around the National Mall? You said you liked it earlier today.”
“Sure.”
The walk is quiet enough for you to overthink. Sicheng got accepted by a dance studio in Korea, after months of submitting auditions and traveling back and forth between countries. He’s leaving soon, even if he says he’s still waiting to hear back from Juilliard and keeping his options open. You see it in the goodbyes he keeps subconsciously saying and the memories he drinks in like it’s his last chance to, and you’re terrified of what your life will look like without him.
You glance over at him periodically, and he seems to be lost in thought too, staring straight ahead down the well-lit path. His eyebrows furrow as you pass under a streetlight, and you wonder if you brought it up the wrong way.
You’re disappointed in the crude way you shoved the future into a perfectly happy moment, then mad that you’re disappointed. It was inevitable that you’d have to talk about what would come after graduation, and it was inevitable that he’d have to remove himself from your side to chase after his dreams. It’s a wonder he hasn’t pulled away already.
Stupid, you chide yourself. Stupid, stupid, stupid, loving so hard that your chest implodes from all the weight it carries, already drifting through the pangs of hurt and the wisps of melancholy bringing about a premature nostalgia.
“I’m really going to miss you next year,” Sicheng confesses out of the blue.
You glance up. His hands are shoved into his pants pockets, his eyes roaming over your face like he’s trying to remember all the secrets it hides.
You think you might always run back to him. You’re not sure how to feel about that.

“So.”
“So,” you echo. “Have you looked at decisions yet?” It’s a pointless question. You know he’s not going to Juilliard.
“Yeah, I looked at them this afternoon in the theater.” He clears his throat. “I got waitlisted.”
“Ah.”
“I’m not going to accept a spot on the waitlist.”
“Why not?”
He shrugs. “I had made my decision anyway.” Then he sighs, his nonchalant facade dropping for good. “You can probably guess.”
“You’re leaving?”
“I’m accepting the studio’s offer,” he whispers, as if the air is glass and the moment could shatter at any moment. The words float there, above your head, and you imagine grabbing them and hugging them close to your chest before they slip away.
You don’t. “I figured.”
“Yeah. You knew.”
You stare ahead and will the tears not to fall.
“I’m leaving as soon as school ends,” he says, with the sideways glance that marks the start of his rambling distraction process, “and flying there on—”
“I’m gonna miss you,” you blurt. He pauses mid-sentence. “I’m gonna miss you like crazy. Can we talk about this, for real? You can tell me all the details later, I just—please,” and your voice cracks, “don’t dismiss this.”
“Yeah. Of course.”
A blink, and the first teardrop traces its way down your face.
You waste away the hours of your stolen youth with a boy who wipes your tears away and comforts you over the future that you’ll no longer be a part of.

“Before I leave,” Sicheng says, scuffing the heels of his shoes on the gravel pathway, “I know I’d regret it if I didn’t say something. I mean, I’m going to leave anyways, so why not, you know? I have to say something before I’m gone. Um, so, you know this by now, but I… I—” and you already know what’s coming.
“Stop. I know what you’re going to say. Give me a minute to think.”
You make the mistake of glancing up at him, his eyes wide and shining. “Yeah. Alright. Take all the time you need, please.”
In half a year, Sicheng will be gone and you will be left to pick up the pieces of your life that don’t involve him, piecing them together the best you can and carrying on like there isn’t a hole in your heart.
“I’m in love with you.” One thud of your heartbeat. Then another. “Sicheng.”
In half a year, this chance will be long gone, and if you let it slip through your fingers without grabbing on, you’ll never forgive yourself for letting Sicheng become your biggest what-if.
“I’m in love with you too.” He raises his hand to cradle your face in his palm. “Y/n.”
“I’ve wanted to say that for a while now.”
“Me too. It’s not just because I’m leaving, you know.” You nod, his palm momentarily pressing against your cheek. “You knew.”
“Yeah.”
You stare up at him, the boy who wears his heart on his sleeve and holds entire galaxies in his eyes.
“What are we?” he asks.
“I don’t know.”
“How do you feel about dating?”
You freeze like a deer in headlights. “Dating?”
“Yeah, would you? Like to date me?”
And then Sicheng turns into a what-if again. “I don’t know,” you confess. “I don’t know if I could handle the split.”
“We don’t have to break up when I leave. We could do long distance,” he suggests, but it sounds flimsy even to your ears.
“I don’t know, Sicheng. I don’t want to end up losing you.”
“I know. We don’t have to, especially if you don’t want to.”
You nod once in acknowledgment, and then you’re stepping into his arms again. He holds you securely, stroking your hair and waiting for you to collect your thoughts.
“I wish we had more time,” you whisper into his shoulder an eternity later. “Could we have been doing this earlier?”
“It would’ve been too fast,” he reasons, and you’re inclined to agree. “We didn’t really… not until this year…”
“Yeah.” You’ve known Sicheng for years and have been close with him for months, but you only fell in love with each other when it was too late. “I wish we started hanging out sooner.”
“Maybe things wouldn’t have turned out this way.”
“Maybe.”
You pull back enough to glance up at him, gaze dropping to his lips at the close proximity before immediately bringing it back up. His eyes follow the movement, a smile creeping up his face.
“One kiss wouldn’t hurt, right?” he asks, and he says it so earnestly that it’s hard to believe he’d be wrong.
“It wouldn’t,” you agree. His nose bumps with yours and you blink up at him once, twice, and then you’re leaning in until the faraway sounds of the city fade away. He’s purposeful and patient and when all you can think of is the brush of his lips against yours, it’s just you and him against the world.
One kiss might not hurt, but one turns to two and two turns to too many and when you finally pull away and stare into his eyes, dazed, your lips tingle from the ghost of his mouth on yours.
At that moment, the way his mouth slowly stretches into a grin does something to your heart, and you think you’d let it break a million times just to be the cause of his smile.
“Yes, Sicheng. Let’s date.”
He kisses you again, beaming so wide that his teeth knock against your lips and pulling you closer, almost picking you up in the process.
You wonder if you made the wrong decision.

October Ink | #2
Sicheng was different, but you didn’t care. You were never supposed to know.
It’s been long since I’ve last visited. I know, Y/N, but please trust me. Meet me at the cemetery tonight. Our spot. 1 am.
Love,
D. Sicheng
Tearing the note off of your bedroom window, you already knew who it was and what it would probably entail. You read the note over and over. The bitterness filled your brain, as harsh as vodka. Sighing, you tucked it into your pocket.
                                                             ~
Violet River. A small town of 3,057 inhabitants. Known for its Halloween spirit, it was a tourist hotspot from September to November.
You hadn’t had friends growing up- well, that’s what you got used to telling people these days. The truth was, you had exactly one.
There was no meaningful memory of your life, none in your mind that didn’t have Dong Sicheng. Growing up, you never considered how weird that was, how every single staple in your memory, he was there.
He first acknowledged you when you were both nine years old.
The road you both lived on stretched wide, the acres between your home and his felt like a country- at first. You yearned to be his friend, always smiling and waving when he and his father drove past your house. When he was with his father, he always gave you the same blank look.
One day, when you went out too far in the woods and got lost, he appeared. He was there to lead you home.
You were alone, and then you weren’t.
Your friendship was a secret for a long time. You’d meet in the woods, and whenever you tried to spook him he’d get mad. Not because you succeeded… it was because he told you not to mess with monsters.
You knew he was different when you were 14.
By that age, you’d taken to creepier settings, finding the perfect little getaway in an old cemetery. In the far back was a mausoleum, the creaky old gate too rusted to hold. There, the two of you read books and shared your dreams of leaving this dead town.
At that age, no one could convince you to not be his friend. Your mother, who pursed her lips whenever she saw you with him, tried but gave up when she knew you wouldn’t stop. The other kids who whispered about him, the occasional few bold enough to say something to his face.
Most people, though, were terrified of Sicheng’s father. You? You were proud your best friend was a legend.
That fateful day, had to be around October, you had decided to make the journey to your cemetery getaway early. You wanted to surprise him with a picnic, so you lugged a big basket and blanket with you as you trekked the usual shortcut through the forest.
About halfway there, you heard a woman’s cry. There was no other sound like it, hairs standing on end as your body went rigid. You held your breath, wondering where all that bravery you claimed to have disappeared.
Now, you wonder if you’d somehow sensed what you were about to stumble upon in the woods.
You let the sounds of her crying draw you closer, moving silent like Sicheng once taught you. Holding your breath, you peeked around a tree.
The basket thumped to the forest floor, birds somewhere nearby croaking as their wings shot them to the sky.
Sicheng’s head shot up from her neck, blood coating his mouth and chin. His fingernails were black and elongated, holding her in place. His pupils, the color of an endless well. The woman was fading in and out of consciousness, one of her hands shakily reaching out to you.
“Help,” She whimpered.
To this day, you wondered why you ran. Why? You knew in your heart you weren’t scared, so why did you run away?
He came to you the same night, eyes watery with tears as he begged you not to leave him. You were hurt at first, tugging him to sit next to you on the bed. Then, you were angry, offended he’d even think you’d run.
“You’re still you. This doesn’t change anything.”
“Oh, Y/N. But it changes everything.”
You held him that night, the stir in your heart more intimate than you’d ever realized. When he turned to face you in bed, his fingertips brushed at your cheek, his eyes the brown you knew so well. Was what you saw in the woods also him? Yes, it was.
You were too weak to care.
Even now, you weren’t sure who leaned forward first. The kiss left you dizzy, his hands puzzle pieces sliding into place as he pulled you closer, his lips soft with their appraisal.
“I love you. I was made to protect you,” He whispered into the night.
He’d answer your questions, you knew he would. For now, you’d just needed to reassure him that you’d never leave.
You didn’t know that’d be the last time you’d see him for five years.
                                                            ~
The town had tales of night guardians, beings created to protect the oasis that was Violet River. Crimes didn’t happen here. And if they did, they were taken care of with little explanation.
On the flip side, there were those who weren’t so keen on night guardians. They called them impure, unnatural, wanted them to disappear. The town’s sheriff? More like a certified Guardian hunter.
It didn’t take long for things to click, why Sicheng and his father were on the outs with everyone else.
You didn’t know why Sicheng up and left you, but he made sure to leave you with a wound so deep, you vowed he’d feel it himself if he ever returned.
                                                            ~
He was there when you arrived that night at the cemetery, just like the note said.
Older now, face more refined and handsome than you were prepared for- was he an angel… or something much darker?
“Why now?”
His expression broke as he approached, hands cupping your face. You turned away, the bitterness prominent on your tongue. His forehead touched yours, and when he opened his eyes, they were the black that haunted your dreams.
“I had to protect you.”
“I guess the whole leaving thing was only for me, right?”
“My people. They kill whoever has proof of us. You saw me that day, saw me with that woman.”
You broke away, finger jabbing his chest. “I didn’t care. You are what matters to me. Sicheng, I-” You almost said it, but you didn’t know who this was. There were five years between the two of you. The boy you loved then wasn’t the guy before you now.
Stepping back, you shook your head. He followed your tracks, but you held up a hand to stop him.
“I don’t care what you are. I still don’t. But I’m not going to let you hurt me again.”
“I would never hurt-”
“You already did. You left me. Before this goes any further, I’m going to walk away.”
“Please. You need to hear me. It’s important that I-”
“Goodbye, Sicheng.”
You spun on your heels, booking it out of the cemetery. You came to the crossroads, either taking the shortcut from the woods or the long way home. You took the long way.
Your first deep breath found you at the sight of your house. The sting in your eyes... Was it relief or disappointment that he didn’t stop you?
Stepping into the foyer, your gut twisted and let you know something was very wrong. The lights were all off, silent save for the sound of slow dripping from the kitchen.
“Mom?”
The ceiling creaked overhead, the sound of someone moving around upstairs telling you weren’t alone. Your mom would’ve answered. Fumbling for the handle behind you, you heard a small splatter as you stepped backward. Eyes trailing down, you strained to see the puddle you were stepping in. It was too dark to make anything out, so you slowly pulled out your phone. With shaky fingers, you turned the flashlight on and directed it to the floor.
It was the color of candy apple red, the puddle almost as big as the entirety of the living room. Following the trail, nausea knocked you back into the door at the sight of your mom’s lifeless body, eyes dead as she stared right back at you.
You didn’t scream, didn’t move. Stared at the claw marks deep in her chest, the gashes likely the cause of her death.
“My son should’ve never come back.”
Your brain was muddled, heart numb as your gaze trailed to Sicheng’s father. His boots creaked with every step he took down the stairs. He was tall, rugged, as terrifying as people made him out to be in their horror stories.
His pupils were already black.
“Why now?” You asked him the same question that you’d asked Sicheng.
He tilted his head. “The answer’s simple, darling. He convinced me to leave, to spare you. On the promise that he’d never return. He went back on his word.”
Why? What had he been trying to tell you? Why did you walk away like an idiot? Why did he come back?
He moved inhumanly fast, hand closing around your neck and lifting you off your feet like you were a doll. Clawing at his hand, you gasped for air, eyes going to your mom.
At least you’d see her soon.
“Think of my son in these moments. I’ll make sure to tell him you begged for him.” As your vision faded, he brought your body closer, his mouth morphing as his teeth elongated like his nails.
There was a scream, a figure darting toward the two of you. Then, you were gone.
You awoke to excruciating pain, knives pricking every inch of your body. It hurt to breathe, to move. It was someone pulling the skin off of your body, sewing it back on, then peeling it off once more.
“Y/N! Hang on. I’m here. Focus on my voice! Focus on my…”
~
Violet River. 3,055 residents.
You and Sicheng come to visit during the tourist season. The sheriff purses his lips, but doesn’t argue. After all, only tourists are the issue when it comes to crime in this sacred town.
You lure them into the woods, promising them nights of their lives.
You take to blood like you took to Sicheng- naturally and loyally.
There’s only one thing you’d kill Sicheng for: if he ever stood in the way between you and a kill. After all, he made you what you are.
Every day, you hoped it would never come to that.
A/N: A second drabble back to back? Who am I? Haha. I truly couldn’t figure out who to use for this one. In the end, I think Sicheng fits the role well. If there’s a certain someone you’d like to see in these drabbles, drop an ask! If there’s a certain fall scenario you want to read, feel free to request it! These are fun. I promise they all won’t be spooky.

Check out my drabble list here. It’s still small, but it will get bigger with time! (:

"Consider this an early Christmas present."
Winwin's eyes were glued to the screen as you sat on the bed, beginning to undress. He let out a low groan seeing the lingerie you purchased earlier today.
The shade of red complimented you very well, and the white trimming sat around every one of your curves beautifully.
Winwin wanted nothing more than to be there with you right now and be able to touch you the way he wants to and really show you how much he appreciates you. He could feel his boxers growing tight and couldn't tear his eyes away from you.
"You like it?" you ask.
"I love it," he nodded.
You laid back, giving him a full view of your half-naked body. A smirk came to your face when you heard a low curse coming from the speaker of your phone.
"You have no idea how hard you're making this for me," he ran a hand through his hair.
You sank your teeth into your bottom lip, imagining him palming himself below the camera where you can't see.
"You wanna help me out," the suggestive tone of his voice gave you a clue of where this was going.
"How?" you ask.
"Why don't you touch yourself for me," he says. You could feel the goosebumps rise over your skin hearing his deep voice.
"Like this?" you begin slowly, running your hands all over your body. It became hard to resist the urge to just shove your hand between your legs.
"Go slower, baby."
Winwin began palming himself over his sweatpants, watching your hands roam all over your body. You closed your eyes and imagined your own hands being his. Your hands slid over the cups of your lacy bra, and you ran your fingers over the thin material, stimulating your nipples. Your mouth slightly parted, and soft whimpers began to spill out. Winwin noticed you rubbing your thighs together for some sort of relief and could only imagine how badly you were aching.
"Are you wet, baby? I bet you've already ruined the gift you got for me," he said.
One of your hands moved from your breasts and slowly slid down your body. But you stopped once your reached your navel.
"Go ahead, sweetheart. Keep going," he encouraged you.
A sigh of relief left your lips when your fingers came into contact with your clothed pussy. You tugged your bottom lips between your teeth when the pads of your fingers applied pressure to your clit, and you let out a whimper.
"Feel good?" he heard him ask. You nodded your head.
"But it's not enough," you tell him.
"No? Use your pretty little fingers to make yourself feel good, princess."
Winwin's eyes never leave the screen as he watches you slide your panties to the side. Your pussy glistening in the dim lighting of the bedroom was enough for Winwin to slip his hand into his underwear for some sort of relief.
He let out a low sigh when he wrapped his hand around his shaft. He watched as you spread your lips for him, letting him see how wet you are. One of your fingers teases your hole, collecting enough slick on your digits Winwin could see the string of your arousal connecting your two fingers.
You began to slowly rub your clit with your fingers, gradually adding more pressure. Winwin couldn't get over how breathtakingly beautiful you looked laying in bed while you put on a little show for him.
He swiped his thumb over his slit, smearing precum over the head of his cock at the same pace you were circling your clit with. But Winwin knows your body like the back of his hand and could tell that it wasn't enough for you.
"Come on, baby. I know you want more than that," your eyes focus on the screen, and you can see the way his arm is moving off screen.
You look at him as you slip those same two fingers into your mouth. Hollowing your cheeks around your fingers before you release them with a pop, Winwin freed his cock from its confinements and slowly began rubbing his hand up and down his length.
The stretch isn't as drastic as it would be if it was Sicheng's fingers instead of your own, but it's still a stretch nevertheless. Your teeth capture your bottom lip as you ease your fingers inside of you. You let out a soft "fuck" when your warm wet walls hug your digits.
"That's it, baby, just like that," his cock twitched in his fist, hearing your moans filter through the speaker.
"Sicheng~"
"Feel good?"
"So good," you nod your head.
"Why don't you add another? I know your pretty little pussy could take it."
His words were making your head spin.
You slid a third finger into your pussy just as Winwin started to fuck his fist.
Your free hand began to roam all over your body, and once again, you imagined it being your boyfriend touching you instead of yourself. There's no doubt your boyfriend is doing the same. Winwin closed his eyes and listened to your moans and small whines as he thought back to all those times he's been with you. Reminiscing how good you feel wrapped around him, how pretty you look and sound falling apart because of it.
You feel your walls clamp down on your fingers when you decide to tweak your nipple between two of your fingers. The sight before Winwin almost made him cum right then and there.
Your boyfriend's moans coming in through the phone were almost drowned out by the squelching of your pussy from how wet you are. You could see his head resting against the back of his chair and his arm flexing from the pace he was going. You were babbling incoherently Winwin couldn't clearly make out what you were trying to say. But he sees the way you lift your hips to meet your hand while your moans uncontrollably tumble out of your mouth and knows you're close to cumming.
Your release feels like it's just within arms' reach.
"Shit," he panted, as he could feel his own orgasm approaching, "You gonna cum, baby?"
"Y-Yes. Please, I need to- can I-" you didn't even know what to say, but you needed it, and Winwin knew that.
"Cum for me."
Your eyes shut, and your toes curl from the intensity of your orgasm. This is probably the best orgasm you've had in the past four months you've been without him.
Spurts of cum landed on Winwin's hand and lower abdomen as you were still coming down from your climax. You blink the stars out of your eyes to see your boyfriend grabbing something, presumably a tissue, to clean the mess he made while you stayed right where you were, your body not ready for any movement just yet.
"If you're not home by next week, I'm flying over there and dragging you back here myself."
"I have no doubt about that," he softly laughed.
"I love you."
"I love you too. Goodnight, baby."

Dong Sicheng was never really one for relationships. With his career and future in front of him, he preferred to focus on it, although he did end up in relationships here and there.
But then there was you. The only one he could clearly imagine some sort of future he liked.
There was only one problem: as Sicheng had only been in a small number of relationships, he found it difficult to open up and express himself properly outside of his slightly cold exterior.
You, however, didn’t mind. Silent company was just as nice as a conversation, and unlike his past two exes, you hadn’t forced him to open up fully to him. You didn’t even get upset when he couldn’t say ‘I love you’ back, you understood that he needed time and that it was difficult for him.
Sicheng was so thankful for your patience. No words could describe how he felt, so he resorted to hugs, shy pecks, or holding hands as a response, but you didn’t mind. You knew what you’d signed up for.
Today, on Christmas Eve, things would change. Inviting you to take a stroll at the city garden, where there would be fairy lights and slightly tacky Christmas themed decorations, your boyfriend was ready to confess his love to you properly.
It was a big step forward for both you and him, he could only imagine how you’d pull him in for a warm hug, and chuckle before saying the words he loved to hear from you, ‘I love you, too’.
Of course, before going, the two of you had planned to meet at the cafe near the garden to get a nice and warm drink to combat the cold night.
Sicheng stood all bundled up in front of the cafe, quickly spotting your figure on the opposite side of the street.
You waved your right arm with so much energy, an enthusiastic smile accompanying your actions. “Sicheng! You look great!”
As a laugh escaped your lips, Sicheng swore he had never seen someone so radiant like you.
However, the next thing he knew, your boyfriend was cradling your bloodied body that he refused to accept would never wake up again.
“Wake up! Please! (Y/N), please wake up. I want to tell you that I love you. I can say it back, now.”
This was a dream, right? You didn’t just get run over whilst crossing the road on the green light, did you?
The ringing of his own ears caused Sicheng to not hear his own anguished screams and wails of pain, feeling the pain of losing the person he loved and wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
Along with feeling the pain of never being able to finally tell you the words ‘I love you’, the words he rehearsed for the past week, because you were no longer alive.
